🚨 New Blog Post Alert 🚨 After the Taliban’s return to power in Afghanistan in 2021, Afghan women and girls are yet again facing severe restrictions on basic human rights, such as the rights to work, education, and freedom of movement.
In our blog post, in addition to discussing further about how the Taliban is committing egregious human rights violations, we also look into what actions are being taken to stand up against those human rights abuses.

The news of Iran revolution has subsided. We have no idea what happens on the other side anymore, and given the kind of news I was hearing beforehand, I think I have a horrendous Idea why. Both Afghanistan and Iran are facing horrors while we go about knowing next to nothing.

Folks! It’s Fucked-up Afghanistan 🇦🇫 of “Namak Haraams.”
Millions of Afghan Girls are Denied Education as the New School Year Begins, "Marking Another Grim Milestone in the Steady Erosion of Girls' and Women's Rights Nationwide," UNICEF's Chief said. The Taliban has Barred Girls From Going to School After 6th Grade Since Seizing Power in 2021.

So the Taliban leader just said that stopping girls having an education after a certain age ‘isn’t politics’ as if it’s perfectly alright just because they fucked their country up entirely when it was already struggling majorly

Talking about the corruption, slavery and extremely orthodox laws of Qatar during the FIFA World Cup is "Islamophobic" but Al Qaeda threatening to destroy Shri Ram Mandir and built their masjid on the top of it again is not Hinduphobic. France having uniform civil code is Islamophobic but Qatar not allowing LGBTQ is cultural diversity hehe.
Talking about the issue of Taliban refuting OIC and not sending girls to universities is Islamophobic. Talking about Palestine using its people as meat shield is Islamophobic. Talking about the conditions of Pakistani, Bangladeshi Hindus and Christians is Islamophobic. Talking about Kashmir genocide is Islamophobic. Talking about the Yezidi girls being brought and sold like commodities is Islamophobic. Talking about Malaysia stopping conversion to other religions is Islamophobic. Talking about not being allowed to dress how you want in Afghanistan is Islamophobic. Talking about the Iran revolution and throwing homosexuals off the roofs is Islamophobic.
Talking about any accountability that a person who happens to have Islamic faith has towards others, including other Muslims who are killed, raped, tortured due to them is Islamophobic.
Trying to shield the perpetrators because they come from a certain religion isn’t going to help. It’ll just bring more focus on the religion. I’ll be lying if I say that the growth of apathetic anti muslim views of far right isn’t a consequential outcome of this.

this may be controversial but ENOUGH with atemporal settings in theatre especially ancient theatre…get medea in a historically accurate bronze age σκηνή or get OUT. i’m putting lysistrata in woodstock in 1969 and there’s nothing you can do about it. cowards. set antigone in occupied 1940s france! set hecuba in scotland during the jacobite risings! set the bacchae in the hamptons during prohibition! it’s so much more fun to have a TIME and a PLACE to play with if i see another greige set i will lose my mind. this is especially criminal for electra…she can go anywhere…
