TO THE ANON REGARDING FC VS CHARACTER AGES, we allow faceclaims to play younger characters than their current age if they have resources that can be used to play that character. our group does not follow the +5/-5 rule as some faceclaims have had years-long careers, allowing them to be used for a wider range of ages due to accessible resources that could be used to suit that age. if you have more questions regarding faceclaims, i’d be happy to continue this conversation off anon.

⟨ anonymous asks… ⟩ — hello, sorry if this is in the rules already i tend to miss things sometimes! but are trans face claims required if we want to write trans characters?
no worries! so i want to preface that this answer is coming from someone who is trans himself as i know many trans muns have have varying opinions on the issue. the short answer is no, we don’t require trans faceclaims to write trans characters. if you cannot find a trans faceclaim that fits the character’s ethnicity, background, age: you can play a character with no faceclaim (while still being completely written as trans) or you can use a cis faceclaim of that character’s respective identity (a cis male faceclaim for a trans male character, a cis female faceclaim for a trans female character).
the longer answer is that — while it is not required, it is highly encouraged to use trans faceclaims over cis ones. if you need help finding trans faceclaims, i would be more than happy to help. however, in the long run — i would rather have trans characters being played than to not have trans characters played at all just because people cannot find trans faceclaims for their characters. additionally, we also allow trans characters to be played without a faceclaim for this same reasoning.

⟨ anonymous asks… ⟩ — one last question about sw discourse, as i want to apply and was wondering. let's take luke, for example. if we play him from a new hope ( and not his older version ) then what would happen of rey? did she train with luke or would it be someone else?
no worries, thank you for your interest in the rp! in this instance, if you were to have a portal take him from a new hope, rey would still get trained, but she’d get trained by a different dimension luke as that would have caused the timelines to split from each other. so while in the timeline you’re taking luke from, rey would have been trained by someone else; however in that other timeline, luke was never taken and would still train her. the other timeline would be the only timeline we would permit to be played as that would be considered the canon timeline as opposed to the now canon divergent one.

⟨ anonymous asks… ⟩ — hello, to add to the star wars question. let's say someone applies as padmé from, let's say, the clone wars. up until revenge of the sith — obviously since she dies after, but then if someone is to bring the space twins ( aka luke and leia ) then how do we explain it in game?
so because of the portal, you could have it so that padmé was sent through the portal before she died, and that the SHIELD staff were able to save her. characters get taken between time and space, so it’d still be fine to have luke and leia as a portal could have opened up for them later in their future. alternatively, you could also have it, so that either the space twins or padmé are from earth-919 but don’t have their memories of their canon universe, while the other comes from their canon universe through a portal.
as their memories of each other would be considered big memories, these would fall under memories they’d likely forget but would recover over the course of the roleplay. so, padmé would not remember having kids, and luke and leia would not recognise padmé as their mother up until memories start being returned. i hope that helps!

⟨ anonymous asks… ⟩ — i apologize if this has already been answered but for the different versions of characters rule, how would it work for non comic characters (so theres no canon alternate universes and such)? like, could someone bring an anakin skywalker or ben solo who never fall to the darkside? rey with a different parentage? leia or luke if they were to be raised by their biological parents/anakin not falling to the darkside?
no worries! not answered quite yet, so for non comic characters, we would need the alternate universe to be considered a canon alternate universe. so for different versions of characters, that would affect storylines like once upon a time vs disney — where once upon a time characters share names of disney characters, i.e. snow white, yet have completely different backstories and narratives.
for star wars, we wouldn’t allow characters to have different backstories unless there was a media (book, tv show, film, etc.) regarding a “what if” scenario of the characters doing different actions; however, we would allow characters from the expanded universe like jacen solo and jaina solo.

as early as june 2025 when the portal opened to as late as right this very second, that is how long characters from other verses have been here! this is coincidentally also the date when characters from earth-919 have started to get visions of their respective canon universes. so, september will the fourth official month of universal travelers here in earth-919.

in total, there will be three servers, just for organisational purposes — one ooc server, two ic servers (an sns server and a para server). the ooc server will be the one sent out to everyone initially, and then the two ic servers have inivitation links inside the ooc server. it will be necessary to join all 3; however, discord does have an option that allows you to make a folder out of servers which is what we’d recommend!

⟨ anonymous asks... ⟩ — i like the concept of this group but i’m concerned that muses who aren’t from marvel are going to get sidelined for those that are just because they fit most into the plot? can you explain how to ensure this won’t happen?
hi, thanks for the the interest! so while i totally understand the concern about other fandoms fitting into a marvel - centered plot, but if you strip it down — it's just a blended town-university rp, just with a little more superpowers! however, the way we are ensuring that everyone is on even standing is done in a variety of ways. all characters start at zero points— whether that's for being a hero/agent and going on missions, for being given science and other university grants for their researchs, or for getting promotions at work on the campus or entertainment plaza. because of the point system and nature of the group, nobody is immediately remembering anything as they have to be exchanged from points as well!
additionally, there will be plot drops that suit more super-powered muses (any character with a special ability would count) certainly, but there will also be plenty of other plot drops and events that are actually catered toward muses without special powers or abilities as well, along with plot drops and events that are intended to impact all of them generally. i also plan to work with members and their characters to see how we can ensure every muse and fandom gets an equal chance to shine with events and plot drops as well.

this group welcomes and encourages any fandoms and characters! it's up to you if you want to have your character sign up as a hero for the avengers initiative or shield. we still have more than other opportunities for characters to come to avengers campus who don't necessarily want to be fighting crime on the reg! we allow characters to come in as students to champions university or on campus as an employee to one of the many wonderful places to work.
all characters are also allowed to keep their special powers and abilities, so it'd be pretty cool if you ask me to see some vampires, witches and werewolves walking around campus!

we accept any fandom here! the plot itself is just specifically about the avengers initiative, but all fandoms are more than welcomed and encouraged. dc characters on teams like the justice league would still go by their team name, they'd just be working under the overall avengers initiative!
