maybe the reasons I have a visceral negative reaction to Hawks being on screen are 1) I hate his character design for completely petty reasons and 2) his quirk is too multi-faceted in a way that annoys me for the same reason I hate Midoriya having multiple quirks. oh! Hawks has wings and can fly! oh! and also his feathers can detach and be moved telekinetically! oh! and he can use his feathers as swords! oh! and he has a telepathic connection with them!

When my head isn’t filled with “keephishandkeephishandkeephishand” on a loop, I actually think about more stuff from 407.
Someone on X pointed this out, but how wittle baby boy Yoichi is shown here…
Tumblr media
Makes it seem like the people that AFO just killed had maybe beat him up. Of course, AFO is taking their metapowers away too, but it’s an interesting catch. And, yes, Yoichi is wearing fitted clothes while AFO walks around with something just wrapped around him.
You know how Yoichi still believed there was good in his brother because of the kindness of his “hand”?
Tumblr media
Well, in case you missed it…
Tumblr media
They were born apart with their hands already reaching out to each other. They are on their backs right now, so those are the same hands that are holding/being held.
This means…
Tumblr media
AFO grabbed Yoichi and dragged him with him. What you’re seeing in that top panel is the water starting to overflow the river and rush past. AFO pulled Yoichi out of the water and on to their mother. He is also using the spike quirk for teeth and on his hand to grab onto their mother and pull them up. The bottom left panel is him biting into her dress as he pulls them out of the danger of the water. Yes, AFO saved Yoichi when they were fucking newborns. THIS is what Yoichi has a faint memory of. That was the kindness.
Tumblr media
I know some people have been wondering if they’re fraternal or identical. This seems to suggest that they are in fact sharing the same umbilical cord. It’s rare for fraternal twins to have this. It’s crazy to think that Yoichi may have looked just like AFO if he had the same amount of nutrients. But I digress…
A very notable thing about AFO’s eyes: they are huge and creepy in feral/survivor mode. We’ve seen his eyes get like this as AFOTomura and when he goes into rage mode against All Might and now Bakugo.
Here, he is quite literally just walking down the street past the anti-meta people and presumably just heard them talk about killing metas. Once they take notice of him, he turns his head towards them and his eyes are huge like a startled animal.
Tumblr media
He then proceeds to kill them and still has that feral look.
But now let me get to something pretty important…
We don’t see AFO actually smile until this panel
Tumblr media
Once he has a dream of everyone living for his sake, like Yoichi, he is finally smiling. And continues to do so after this point.
Something really bothering me is that they must have named themselves including their surname. Shigaraki means “death tree” which fits in nicely as they were born “from death”. However, where did Yoichi get his name? AFO must have named him and Yoichi can mean “first gift”. So he named him that because Yoichi was QUITE LITERALLY the first thing AFO ever had. As for AFO…I don’t know if he would take the time to name himself. Yoichi only calls him big brother so he may have told Yoichi to just keep calling him that then decided to name himself after the Quirk he also named himself: All for One. Dude is really committed to the bit.
There’s one more thing I haven’t seen anyone touch on yet…
The hatred.
As you probably recall, Hawks has a talk with Best Jeanist over AFO’s lack of emotions and lack of hate. Why he has to use Tomura to get OFA.
406 explained why that is perfectly.
Tumblr media
When he feels hatred, he is forced to remember WHEN HE WAS TOLD HE KILLED HIS BROTHER HOLY SHIT. It would also be possibly the first and only time he ever cried. Felt real grief. So, he never “feels” REAL hatred because that would mean having to confront this memory.
It’s fucking genius.
You’’re welcome.

End of manga sees Izuku create his own 'vestige realm' (theory)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Originally written on Twitter by @wolvesandvisions]
This theory was something I'd kept close to my chest for some years now that I think may actually have the potential of coming to fruition.
I believe by the end of the manga Izuku is going to have created his own 'vestige world'. Alongside letting go of OFA, the “cursed” power, we'll see the birth of a new society. This will indicate the birth of truly making his power, his heroism, his own.
What we’re witnessing in the manga at the moment is the complete destruction of OFA as we know it. In a metaphorical sense and in the visual sense that Yoichi and the other holder’s prison is literally falling apart thanks to Shigaraki.
Tumblr media
Now something I noticed, is that this visual of a park we kept seeing All Might at, I think may be the same one in the manga Chapter 96 (2016), redrawn in the anime, and referenced to again in an art by Umakoshi at Comiket (2019).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It keeps coming up. The chapter 96 version of this page reads as translated: “I wish that we could always sit and bask under the soft light filtering through the trees…☆Inherited spirit and pride!”
Tumblr media
Izuku and Katsuki have absolutely inherited the spirit and pride of All Might, they are both the start of this new era. However, Izuku is the one with the burdens and wills of 9 people on his shoulder right now. At the end of the day… OFA is cursed, it can't stay the way it is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Whether he’s quirkless by the end, or gets some crazy new power, the removal of OFA is also the removal of the curse/burden.
He needs to be able to be a hero on his own terms, without the beck and call of other people’s expectations in his ears. That’s why I think symbolically him truly “making the power his own” will entail him creating something entirely new with it.
@kikibats' language when I shared with her actually surmised it well:
“The part that’s OFA and AFO connected crumbles away, but Izuku’s own realm stays.”
And Chapter 412 just happened to give a ton of supporting information for this potential.
1) The idea that Izuku sees a correlation in ‘being without a personality’ and not having a human heart. His ability to overcome his feelings of worthlessness.
[X]
Choosing to believe in himself and others beyond that assertion IS his power.
2) Another thanks to @kaname_clan and @kikibats who helped me get a greater understanding of this; what we may be witnessing with Star and Stripes - and these odd lines - are Izuku “going beyond singularity”.
Which from my current understanding is the function of generational quirks becoming “too strong” or going beyond what the average human can take on the body.
Izuku appears to be on the verge of death, a big theme in this final arc of the manga has been everyone getting their quirk awakening. So far, every character but him has gotten one. He obviously got one in the most literal sense, but all of OFA’s various quirks aren’t his.
OFA, bless his heart, is like a series of hand-me-downs that in all his brilliance he made work for him. However...in a series about generational trauma, responsibility, and heroism, I think it's really his turn to overcome all of this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think the release of OFA will allow him to have a “quirk” awakening. The “awakening” of his personality, individuality, his heroism. And I do think this may visualize itself in his origins manifesting in that same park under the tree.
Tumblr media
This is just what I'm thinking! Being hit with that visual of the park metaphorically or literally since 2016 has my eyes wide open...so we'll see!

Mustafa Monster X Superheroes: That’s just amazing to picture.
All Might warned his successor about All for One. He ends up fighting All for One at Kamino. He’s being pushed to his limits!
And then…
“HEY, YOU SON OF A BITCH! REMEMBER ME?!?!?!”
And a fifteen foot tall monster crashes into AFO out of nowhere and just goes full Savage on his faceless hide.
Meanwhile, inside OFA:
Yoichi: “Is… is that-”
Kudo & Bruce: “Hell yeah, Midoriya! Kick his ass!!”
Everyone would be so confused. Except AFO, who would be terrified

What do you think of Nana as a character?
She was really intriguing for me when she was introduced in the Kamino fight. I thought that reveal was a great twist and couldn't wait to find more out about her.
But in the end, I have to say, her character just didn't add up very well for me. She's another one of the "buff, pretty women" who people really love for their design (Nagant, Star, Nana, Mirko), but their characterization relies on a lot of tropes and "cool factor" and remains pretty shallow.
The bits and pieces we get from Nana just feel like a lot of wasted potential instead of really digging into an important theme of the story - the pain caused by self-sacrifice for the people left behind.
She is kind of a contradictory person: she tries to hide her son to protect him and cut him off from the hero world but at the same time she burdens another child - All Might - with OFA and the fight against AFO, but leaves him with at least some support. Gran Torino supporting Toshinori helps him rise and her forbidding GT to look after Kotaro is a factor in his spiral.
Hero Nana feels like all the tropes of "badass woman hero": she grins at AFO in her death, talking about how All Might will take him down, also telling a young Toshinori to keep smiling because that's what makes him "strong". And ironically, that smile to Tomura becomes the symbol of everything he hates about hero society, pretending not to see the suffering they cause or simply ignore.
Hero Nana seems like someone who successfully compartmentalized Mother Nana and shut her inside a box when she gave up her son for adoption and seems to have severed that part of herself until the end. The feelings of guilt only come after she sees what Tomura has become.
Vestige Nana with her "testing of Izuku" and "can you kill Tomura - oh I was just kidding" is also tropey as hell. I would have preferred some real introspection, or at least some good interaction with Izuku about the moral dilemma of what to do about Tomura, but Horikoshi is not great with that when it comes to female characters.
So in the end, she is just kind of a crying mess of a vestige, flip-flopping on Tomura's fate. I'd like to say that her finally taking responsibility moved me, but it being between two dead people in vestige land, just doesn't carry the same weight to me (like as opposed to Rei running into the fire).
I always say that Horikoshi is mostly a visual storyteller, and he knows exactly the stuff 99% of his audience wants. I'm in the minority and I actively dislike when I feel like he's trying to manipulate me with sentimental visuals instead of solid storytelling (like last week's episode of Anya x Damien in MHA).
But at least the way he used Nana wasn't too bad - even if it had to be really spelled out for her that leaving her son behind like that was kind of bad for him - hugging and stopping Dreamland Kotaro is stepping up both as mother and hero - reuniting her two halves. She couldn't get through the barrier until she reintegrates the mother into the hero and becomes the hero to save her family. And she is the final piece to help Izuku get through. Thank you. I get the theme. It's about as subtle as a sledgehammer.
I guess it's a decent cap for a character who embodies a key theme. But I think she could have been fleshed out (not just drawing her in a lot of detail), but in actual character nuance and storytelling (things like how she met En, why did she take OFA, her state of mind after losing her husband, etc.)
On another note, it would be nice if this was finally the end of the vestige peanut gallery (I absolutely came to hate their parts in the final fight), but considering Yoichi and Vestige Might just seemed to have gone poof, unfortunately, I wouldn't be surprised to see again all of them.

afternoon, guys! so, update! much to my own shock, I finally followed through on one of my update vows and did indeed start reading the manga again! and even though it took longer than planned, I’ve now made it all the way through chapter 367. so that’s 25 whole chapters read in roughly 2 weeks. and just to be clear, when I say “read”, I mean with reactions and everything, the whole nine yards. 25 new unedited liveblogs safely saved to my PC and backed up on the cloud, ready for eventual posting whenever I finally have more than an hour’s worth of free time.
anyway, so it’s not much, but it’s progress! THAT SAID, I now have a small dilemma. at my current pace, I should be fully caught up to the current manga in a little under 3 weeks’ time. under normal circumstances the obvious thing to do would be to keep reading the story linearly as the manga gods intended. HOWEVER, a small but extremely paranoid part of me cannot shake the nagging fear that if I fail to catch up RIGHT NOW, the manga will somehow end within the next three weeks and I will miss out on EVERYTHING and REGRET IT FOR ALWAYS!!
and so I am asking you, good people, to please weigh in on what my next course of action should be, because I am indecisive af right now and my FOMO is getting the better of me.
fyi, what I’m most worried about is potentially missing out on some incredibly momentous Heroes Rising-level shit. like, I can cope with waiting a few more weeks to see the boys interact again. but if anything goes down with OFA, or the second vestige, or Dad For One, or any of that shit, I want to experience that right alongside everyone else!
but on the other hand, if 404 and 405 contain any huge spoilers for past chapters, I’m probably better off being patient, so long as the manga hasn’t quite reached world-ending levels just yet. I’ve actually been shocked at the number of twists which I had not been spoiled about at ALL (including pretty much everything in the Endeavor vs AFO fight so far, as well as Dabi & Shouto, all of the Big Three stuff, and so on), and I’ve been really enjoying the ride, ngl. so idk! please bless me with your sage wisdom, everyone.

GUYS GALS AND NONBINARY PALS!! I saw a thing that Horikoshi said at a panel of some sort about revealing Izuku’s dad as a spoiler! .0.
Tumblr media
And here’s the thing, he said something along the lines of “revealing who his dad is” rather than “introducing his dad” SO DOES THAT MEAN WE ALREADY MET HIS DAD AND WE JUST DONT KNOW????
Tumblr media
That led me to think: okay. Well who could be his real dad? My first thought was AFO, but then I thought of All Might.
Here me out on All Might:
Todoroki had put together a whole fucking conspiracy theory of All Might being Izuku’s dad. It would be hilarious if it turned out he was right and at the end he just is like- giving himself a pat on the back like- “I knew it!”
But no, in reality, I’m almost 100% sure it’s AFO. Here are my reasons.
1: AFO when we meet him looks like a wrinkled thumb. He looked like that after All Might beat his ass. All Might also came out looking like shit. But at least he still had a face and hair!
So if you think of it, Izuku doesn’t know what AFO looked like before! But now, I’m the manga, he’s looking younger because of a quirk!!
So my thought is, when he gets to Izuku, will he be so young at that point that Izuku recognizes him as his dad? 0-0
2. We never saw Izuku’s dads face or hair color. AFO and OFA have white hair. And Izuku has green hair because of his mom. But that doesn’t mean his dad doesn’t have white hair! And it’s important to remember if it were really nothing, they wouldn’t have hidden his face!! It was always meant to be a reveal at some point!
3. OFA is quirkless. Or at least, thought he was. It turned out he did have a quirk it just was a stockpiling quirk or whatever.
But what if Izuku is the same? That’s why he was able to get ALL of the OFA’s previous powers! Because he’s blood related to the first user! And if he wasn’t quirkless this whole time like he thought? What if he had a similar quirk to the first user??? They just couldn’t detect it!!
4. The toe joint. Oh my god. It was mentioned ONCE in the series TO Izuku. And never to anyone else! It was never spoken of after that!! And we know the doctor who diagnosed him quirkless worked with AFO. So what if the doctor recognized that he had a similar quirk to OFA and just lied? He told him he was quirkless and made up some science fact that was complete bs? We haven’t seen X-rays of anyone’s feet besides Izuku. How do we know that all their feet aren’t the same?? And Izuku and his mom were lied to?
And if the toe thing IS true? What if they showed some other kids toe?
Another thing that could connect it is if Izuku DID have a quirk and it was stolen by Garaki. Garaki I’m canon had been producing and studying quirks especially with children if I remember correctly. What if he stole Izuku’s quirk? And going back to the X-Ray, they used a quirkless persons previous X-Ray to lie!!
5. In the manga, at one point, AFO and Garaki were talking about Super Regeneration. A quirk that All for One said he should have gotten sooner. When he said this, at first I didn’t think anything of it. But then, they went on to talk about an unnamed “boy” which seems to imply Izuku!
Kids get their quirk when they’re a few years old. And you don’t know what it is until it manifests. AFO saying he should have gotten the quirk sooner may imply that he knew the person would get the quirk but he just missed his chance or he waited too long to get it. If it was Izuku, doesn’t that mean he knew him before the quirk manifested? Like when he was a baby?
If Izuku had Super Regeneration originally, it could make sense why he gets hurt so easily. His body was meant to be able to heal itself. But now his quirk is gone, he doesn’t have the ability to withstand as much as he should have been able to.
All Might said that the quirk would hurt him, but he didn’t expect it to be difficult for him to use. But I feel like that’s because it’s not his quirk and so it feels wrong for his body to use it.
6. Hisashi Midoriya means “long gone” basically. It means a few different things but one of them is long gone. This could mean he left a long time ago, which would match a lot of the story. But it also could mean that the person that was Hisashi Midoriya is long gone and is now someone else.
I believe it also has something to do with “important lineage” or something? I saw somewhere that they were saying how AFO could be his dad because AFO and OFA are kinda important. Their descendants would be important too.
7. Hisashi Midoriya has fire breathing. That’s all we’re really given. But tell me. What if he had more than just fire breathing? If he wanted to hide from All Might, prepare a secret weapon of some kind, he might wanna try to blend in, right? So he reduced himself to one quirk, gave himself a new name, and had a family as coverage. That would make sense, right? Spy X Family has that.
So what if Inko didn’t know that he was AFO? She didn’t know he was a villain? Or maybe she did know and has kept it a secret?
And then when his plan was ready, he says he has to go overseas for business? He leaves the family and they’re none the wiser!
A lot of things that I have noticed throughout the series is that AFO’s identity isn’t really well known. We know the first users name but not AFO. We just know him as All for One. But he must have a real name!
Y’all ever since I heard about that panel, my mind has been going into overdrive! I’ve been thinking up so many theories! I’ve turned into a Todoroki!! Help!!
Tumblr media
I’d love to hear what you guys think! Any hints, anything I got wrong, any ideas? I wanna have a discussion on this!!!

Hi, on my phone @bibibbon we are talking about Shig's backstory and his cunt scenes and while I love it...the backstory adds nothing- also I have to say MVA doesnt feel it belongs to MHA you know?- it's eerie if you think how AM never mentions Nana.
Sure he said he has a master, he said her name to Izu. "She is pretty" (no hate to AM here but like yes she is pretty but Nana was just that?) And never again. He never ever mentions her again or in any way. "NANA SHIMURA THE HERO WHO DID X AND Y"
Its odd...its like she never matter, except she does. Its a paradox.
AM never tells to IZU HIS HEIR more about Nana or her quirk...hell sometimes I think he is ignorant about OFA.
Back to Shig's backstory. Nothing was hinted. Nothing. Nana's son is dead...AM doesnt even go visit his grave or smth...he is non existent in the story.
Shig killing his family by accident........look that was cartoonished stupid (there a expression in my language here but cant translate well) everyone died bc they dont know what to do?
(Does MHA has no safety for kids awakening quirks?)
Not blame the Shimuras or Shig here...I just think the death could have been different? I dont know...him killing the entire family seem pushing.
And Shig never reacts to that. Sure, maybe he blocked it. Ok, I can get behind that...but once he remember afo giving that awful name and the doctor gleefuly sharing HIS FAMILY'S HANDS....Shig doesnt even need to be redeem or be a hero to hate afo.
On that note...please lets talk about the hands(hori has a fetish) why afo did that? @doodlegirl1998 said once it was to traumarize Shig again, which yes he is evil and stupid ......but I think there a limit here. You want your minion to be traumatized and still be able to function...what afo did should have make Shig catatonic.
But Shig is fine...as much a crazy villain can. He even shows restraint on his quirk...and likes quirkless stuffs (only character in canon to react to Izu being quirkless) and has acess to information.
(Yes. Afo has cameras on the bar....but so what? He stares at Shig and does nothing. We have no evidence of him tampering the news for Shig to believe in his lies...it seems afo forget about Shig most of the times)
Shig's hate towards AM makes no sense either. At first I thought he hated him out of loyalty to afo...but even early on Shig knew afo doesnt care for him....
So ....
?????
Shig gain stuffs but he is punished too...severly. he gain an army out of nowhere (yes he fought Redestro but Redestro shouldnt give a fuck about him) and then is put on a tube to gain afo as if....this was the plan all along.
????
And afo takes his body bc....
?????
He wants to be sexy? I jk (not really) but really I dont get why afo did that. Doubt Hori does either.
And now there no afo to control his body...and Shig havent change a bit. Like wow. He is the same shig from day 1. He is more sexier now. Thats it.

Be Honest, Be Truthful" (14).
Only the epilogue left! Thank you all for the support!
Trigger warnings for blood, a child in distress, people in distress, death, violence.
Chapter 14
--
Nisuke Harada is a lot of things, but a coward isn’t one of them. Even with a gun pointed at his head by a dickhead on a powertrip, he refuses to tell them where the residents fled to. He sits on his knees, hands behind his head. Sanshirou and a few of the residents that didn’t flee in time (including Hikage’s mother) are right next to him, held in a similar position. All in a neat little line.
The urge to spit on the nicely polished boots in front of him continues to grow, but that’d probably be a waste of spit. He hates them, and he hopes they can see the hatred in his eyes.
“Eeny,” a soldier sing-songs, tapping his gun to a woman’s head. He couldn’t look any more like a military drone if he tried. Buzzed hair, starched, government-issued uniform, and a sadistic sense of duty and humor. “Meeny.” He moves down the line. “Minny.” He stops in front of Hikage’s mom.
She weeps openly but continues to hold her position.
“Moe,” he laughs, clicking the safety off.
“P-please,” she begs. “I have a child. He still needs me.”
The man just laughs. “Now just hold still. This’ll only take a minute.”
Suddenly, as if an intervention sent by God himself, the soldier taunting them com’s crackles to life. “Code white. Please, advise.”
The soldier eyes up Hikage’s mom, but ultimately turns away. She chokes on a sob.
A code white, Nisuke recalls with horror, means they found a potential meta-user under the age of ten. He goes through all the children that might have not escaped in time. He has to do something.
“Execute on the spot.”
“No!” Nisuke screams. He rushes the nearest soldier. A man armed with only a machete. The man has fast reflexes, most likely a result of the intensive training the military puts their people through.
But not fast enough.
Between one blink and the next, Nisuke has the machete up against the soldier's throat. The other soldiers point their weapons at him. “Kill me, I kill him. Kill any more of us and I kill him.”
“Okay, okay,” the soldier from earlier says. “Tell us what you want.”
There probably isn’t much time left.  He dreads hearing anymore gunshots. “For you all to fuck off. And for you to call off the execution order for the code white.”
The soldier whistles. “Phew, that’s a big ask.”
Nisuke just glares at the soldier in front of him, pressing the blade closer to the other man’s throat. He can feel the man tremble, shaking in fear and anticipation of his life being cut short.
BANG!
Nisuke tenses.
The man he’d been holding hostage slumps forward, dead, and Nisuke loses his balance. He falls backwards. The machete clatters to the floor.
He looks up at the soldier, shocked.
“Told ya, that was a big ask,” he says, smiling widely. “Your move.”
-x-x-x-
“Code white, please advise.”
Izuku thinks of running away, but he feels frozen to the spot. The dark liquid must be some kind of glue, keeping him here. His chest feels weirdly tight, and not like the way it usually does during an asthma attack.
He doesn’t like it.
“Execute on the spot,” comes the staticky-sounding reply.
The man eyes him up and down before tapping his com again. “Commander?” The man roughly asks. “Commander? Come in, Commander?” He hits the device a few times.
There’s no other response.
The man stops. He shakes his head. “Sorry, kiddo,” he tells Izuku. A pitying look in his eyes.
Izuku stares back at him.
Why is he sorry? Did he do something bad? Maybe I should help-
The man raises his gun again, pointing it right at Izuku’s head.
“N-no,” he stutters out, “you’re scaring me. P-please don’t.”
“Sorry, kiddo,” he repeats. His voice is flatter, monotone. “But orders are orders. On your knees, and shut your eyes.”
“Why?” Izuku asks, tears prick at the corners of his eyes. When the man doesn’t answer him, he asks again. “Why!?”
He sighs, impatiently. “On your knees, close your eyes.”
Izuku sniffles wetly, but eventually obeys the command. He fidgets with the bottom hem of his shirt.
He remembers the first day they arrived here. How little he actually wanted to wear the clothes they gave him.
He tries to recall all his feelings of curiosity, instead of the ones of uncertainty.
The man comes closer. His gun still raised.
He sniffles again, wiping his runny nose on the back of his sleeve.
He remembers finding old comic books in the library with Hikage; Uncle Sanshirou always lurking in the background, reading his favorite American Magazine, the one with all the cool animals on it (looking back now, Izuku wishes he would have asked what it said).
He tries to recall how content he felt, sprawled out on an old bean bag chair in the library’s reading corner.
The man coughs. “Close your eyes.”
“I-I don’t wanna.”
“Close your eyes,” he repeats, a little more forceful.
He remembers snuggling in between Uncle Yoichi and Uncle Nisuke whenever there was a storm during lights out. It was his favorite spot, because he knew nothing and no one could hurt him while they were there.
He tries to recall how warm he felt, nestled up with his par- uncles.
Izuku does so, but the picture of the raised barrel is imprinted onto the back of his eyelids.
He remembers his daddy, his real one. The one that locked him and Uncle Yoichi away. He still doesn’t understand why he did it, and sometimes it makes him angry when he stops and thinks about it, but even still, he misses his daddy.
He misses his hugs; and how he used to ruffle Izuku’s hair; and the way he would throw Izuku up in the air so high and then catch him.
He misses his stories (even if the heroes never won), and his cooking (daddy always made the best food).
He misses how he used to cuddle him and mommy after a long day of being away. How they’d all sit together on the couch in the living room and watch old sitcoms until mommy or daddy had to get up to make dinner.
He tries to recall a positive emotion from his memories. But he can’t.
Here and now, they’re just that, memories.
He feels the cold barrel of the gun, being placed against his forehead.
A sob escapes Izuku’s lips. “Daddy!” He screams. “Help me!”
The man shushes him. “It’ll all be over soon- wha…?”
The gun is moved away from his head, but Izuku can’t bring himself to open his eyes. The image of the imposing man with the terrifying gun is still sending shivers down his spine.
There’s a loud squelching sound, followed by something heavy being dropped to the floor.
Izuku gasps, heart skipping a beat.
Footsteps, light but uneven, hurry over to him.
“D-daddy?” Izuku asks, eyes still firmly closed.
Hands grip him by the shoulders, bringing him closer.
“Open your eyes, Izu,” the person says.
He does, slowly. Little shapes dance in his vision from how hard he’d been squeezing them shut.
“Uncle Yoichi…?” He asks, voice small and unsure.
“It’s me, Izu.”
Izuku sobs, falling against his uncle’s chest. “I was so scared, Uncle ‘Ichi!”
“I know,” he whispers, holding him tightly.
“The man he- he was bad. He had a g-gun! He was going to hurt me, uncle. I was so scared…and…and I didn’t wanna be scared. But the man wouldn’t stop!”
“I know, and I’m sorry.”
Uncle Yoichi holds him through his sobs, whispering words of reassurance here and there. He runs a soothing hand through his wild mess of curls.
Eventually though, he pulls away from Izuku. “Okay, you have to get moving, Izu. The bus hasn’t left yet and-”
“No!”
“Izuku."
“No,” Izuku says again, “I’m not going without you or Uncle Nisuke or Uncle Sanshirou.”
Uncle Yoichi opens his mouth but quickly shuts it. “Okay, but I’m carrying you. And you have to promise to keep your eyes closed the entire time.”
“I promise.”
“Pinky promise.”
Raising his pinky, he interlocks it with his uncle’s. “Pinky promise,” Izuku says.

Hisashi races down the winding hallways.
He curses his brother’s so-called plan.
Yoichi had told him that Izuku was probably near the front of the school, as that was the entrance, he was most familiar with. And he would take the back, because brother and son stealer his boyfriend was most likely there.
Hisashi would get Izuku. Yoichi would get his boyfriend (and how he plans to protect himself, Hisashi doesn’t even want to think about). And they’d meet in the middle.
Nice and straight to the point. Except it’s not, because his dear little brother forgot to mention they built their base like a fucking maze!
And what’s worse is he’s seen neither hide nor hair of his son.
Bang!
He stops mid-step.
That sounds close.
What if it’s-
He breaks into a sprint.
Down another hallway and around a corner, he comes to a set of cafeteria doors. Without so much as a thought, Hisashi flings them open with so much force they fall off the hinges.
A group of soldiers look at him with a mixture of horror and curiosity. He makes note of the one with a higher rank off to the side. A sadistic look in his eye. And his brother’s boyfriend on the floor, sadly not dead, but also obviously shell-shocked.
From the looks of the dead soldier on the floor with a deep-red wound in his stomach. Hisashi has some idea of what went down here.
The commander watches him enter with only a certain level of concern. He barks out an order. “Get h-”
Hisashi wags a finger, silencing the command. “No, no more talking for you.” He watches their leader try to talk, but not even the littlest sounds escape his pathetic mouth.
The rest of the soldiers stiffen.
He smiles.
“Amazing, isn’t it? I got that little ability from an old woman on the outskirts of Tokyo. She was a teacher before she learned of her ability, and some of the parents and other staff members ran her out of the city.” He sighs. “Can you imagine for a moment how terrifying that must have been?”
The commander glares at him with nothing short of pure rage and contentment.
He stuffs his hands in his pockets, uninterested in a loser that needed to join the military and commit war crimes to get just a little bit of power. Humming, he steps closer.
“You don’t though, do you? None of you do, except for the people you have lined up or on their knees. You help tear apart families and spread falsehoods that equate to nothing except what? Pain and fear? Another meta-user is dead, but it’s okay because we’re all safe now.” He scoffs. “ Pathetic .”
“Are you going to kill us?” One of the soldiers asks, breaking the tentative peace that had settled among the soldiers and him.
The others raise their weapons.
“No.”
“No? Then-”
He lunges for the soldier that first spoke up, making skin-to-skin contact with him. Before he moves away, out of the line of fire, he whispers in the man’s ear. “You are.”
The man, a low-ranking soldier based on the lack of medals, raises his gun and starts firing at all his comrades.
The soldiers and then the commander and finally the forced-murderer all drop like flies.
After the shooting finally stops and all has gone quiet, Hisashi comes back to the group-
“Hey,” he says, confused, “where did everyone go?”
-x-x-x-
Nisuke races through the school. The others are already outside, hurrying to the bus. Even Sanshirou, though the man was very reluctant to go.
There’s blood everywhere, on the walls and lockers. His heart aches for those they lost today. He tries to focus on the task ahead: hopefully finding his boyfriend (there’s a small possibility he came back). There’s still gunshots going off near the cafeteria, but the noise is minimal the further he gets away from it.
He searches in every unlocked room he passes, hoping to find Yoichi.
“Yoichi,” he calls, keeping his voice down to avoid drawing (negative) attention to himself.
But no one responds.
“Yoichi!” He calls again, not minding the trouble being loud could bring. “Y-”
A thin, frail hand is placed firmly over his mouth.
Nisuke looks behind him. There, as if answering all his prayers, is Yoichi and-
“Izuku…?” He asks. “I thought you and Hikage were on the bus.”
“They were,” Yoichi explains. “Izuku, here, wanted to come save us. Didn’t you, little hero?”
“Uh, huh,” Izuku sheepishly murmurs into his uncle’s shoulder.
He should be angry that his nephew was so reckless, but at that moment all he can do is lightly laugh at his antics.
“Little hero,” he says, reaching over to ruffle his hair.
Yoichi joins in, and the urge to kiss him takes Nisuke over. So, naturally, he does. Their lips press together, and they both relax at the familiarity of the sensation.
Small hands push him away. “Ew! Uncle Yoichi, Uncle Nisuke, no kissing!”
“Alright, alright. Fine.”
The two adults chuckle, and Izuku resumes hiding his face in Yoichi’s shirt.
“We should probably join the others on the bus. My brother is probably lurking around here somewhere.”
“Yeah, about that-”
“Maki!” All for One screams.
“Isn’t that?”
“My fake last name, yes. I take it you never told him my real name?”
“Nope.” Yoichi grins.
“I love you, but we should probably run, right?”
“Yes, yes we should.”

Can we have more hcs about the one with Iida accidentally getting mangled in the battle trial? That au was very interesting and I had set an ask about it at some point but I think tumblr ate it.
X
1 - During his convalescence (since he got stabbed in Hosu), Izuku refuses to see any of his classmates. Shouto might have tried to climb through the window to talk to him but the nurse was closing the window a the time. Shouto fell but since he is a Todoroki, and about as resistant as Nura when it comes to near-death experiences, he doesn't even have a scratch.
2 - Everyone in UA takes a sharp turn now that Izuku has "redeemed" himself, so to speak, but Izuku doesn't care. His mental health is at its worst and he is training like crazy to make sure he has perfect control over OFA so he doesn't make any mistake anymore. However, during a training a little before the Final Exam, he manifests Blackwhip, which causes one impressive mental breakdown. All Might is the one to calm him down and he pulled him out of UA.
3 - For a few hours, Izuku is convinced that All Might is about to ask OFA back but no, All Might just tells him they both need tome away from the insanity and that right now, UA has nothing to offer him. They go in the countryside, in one of Toshinori's many safe houses, and for a couple of weeks, they just chill.
4 - All Might tells Izuku about the history of OFA. They train together. They look for signs of AFO. They focus on the All Might legacy most people have no idea about: what OFA users used to do. Gran Torino also joins in, delighted that his son and grandson are taking vacations and subtly holding them up so they don't crumble in a pile of trauma (which is deeply ironic when you know Sorahiko's mental state).
5- There is also a moment where Tensei innocently something about him being the kind of person who "protects his own". Unfortunately, Gran Torino was right next to him and he rips him a new one by spelling out that he contributed to the harassment campaign of a teenager who had made a horrible but honest mistake during which he was trying to avoid taking the equivalent of ten grenades to the face. He is both a grown man and a pro hero and his brother didn't get a career-ending-injury. If he hadn't blacklisted Midoriya Izuku, the problem could have been resolved with a minimum amount of trauma. Instead, he blacklisted him and no amount of "forgiving" will undo the damage.
