omg it’s finally open!!! so i’ve been looking for these two fics FOREVER, and i can’t find them anywhere :(

the first one was called “the way young lovers do” i think, and it was aaron and katelyn helping neil and andrew set up their new house, and it ended with neil and andrew dancing to the song in their yard. it was very cute and i can’t find it no matter where I look

and the second one was aaron meeting katelyns parents for the first time, and they are super conservative and hate aaron, so they invite neil and andrew to be there to take the heat off of aaron. i remember neil saying andrew bought him a cartier bracelet and he wanted the one in a different colour, and just being a brat in general?

also if you have any similar fics with the four of them bonding, i would love them!

 Prologue Pt.1 - First They Burned Him

It starts with red. The red of his father’s hair as it sticks with sweat to his forehead and turns a rusted shade matching the blood dripping from his knuckles. The red of Lola’s lipstick twists into a smile as she slides the knife home between the ribs over and over again. The red of his mother’s blood pouring from her body as they tear her apart piece by piece and laugh while Romero holds him down, forcing him to watch.

It’s all so red that he feels like he will drown in it — that he already is drowning and choking on his mother’s screams. Because in the end this is his fault.

it’s easy to break (beneath the weight of the earth)

Summer smacks its lips and swallows Andrew whole in its oppressive heat. It would be easy to erase his existence from this shithole country, melt him down to a mere sweat imprint on a worn out mattress. That’s just how the story always ends, for the monster, the villain. Instead, he wakes a slicked tangle in silk bed sheets, limbs loose enough that he wonders if he’s finally managed to melt in. The sunlight burns; his wrists echo the sentiment.

Andrew looks down to see red spider lily fingers poking out of the cuts in his wrists. He brings his wrist to his mouth, red spider lilies crawling down his throat, and bites the stems. It temporarily stops the growth, and yet does nothing to stop the pain. He probably should put every resource into searching for a cure. But, well.

Or, the one where Andrew, Prince of Columbia, forms a binding Witch's contract with Neil, an enigmatic Witch on the run.

Neil’s hand trails out the window to catch at the air current, and his smile is unbearably wide. “Where are we even going?” he finally shouts, above the whoosh of the wind and a man crooning through the speakers about trouble, turned up.

“Who knows,” says Andrew, and he feels free, for the first time in…maybe ever, and the flash of Neil’s blue eyes says he knows, he’s in the same boat, and he leans forward to turn up the music even louder.

This was the scene I sewed for the AFTG Big Bang. It was a cool experience as this was the first Big Bang I was planing on doing. I have now done smaller ones now, but a big one is different in it own way. 

Plase go check out the amzing fic by @acerenee on Tumblr. Like I was waiting for it all to be posted so I could use my reader. But I read the part that had this scene and it still in my head as the feelings they were able to put in it. it was just do good!

He takes note of every guard shift, what keys go into whose hands, who watches him with blatant interest, who doesn’t bother to look at him at all, when the chimes of pins change every couple of months, everything. Neil waits and watches for the moment they slip, and he will seize the mistake and escape or die trying.

@requiemofkings‘s beautiful works inspired this post-ww2 dramatic shenanigans, and i’m so hyped (and terrified) to let it out into the world. 

two important things to note!

1. this is based on the hungarian revolution of 1956! the dates are accurate, as are the places (though many are renamed). the specific details, however, are obviously tailored for AFTG and for sensitivity reasons. 

2. @whatmack was the other writer, and their fic is AMAZING! you should defs check it out!!
