saw your post about inner child healing and agere, and so many people in the replies just havent seem most of those "inner child healing" posts, when I was still on tiktok all the inner child healing was definitely not reparenting, it was people playing with toys, watching kids shows, and other stuff similar to that, and even on places other than tiktok most of the inner child healing posts I've seen are not reparenting

Sorry i didn’t see this until now but when I made the post that’s exactly what I was talking about I wasn’t meaning inner child healing and age regression were the same thing at all I was meaning that if someone age regressed and called it inner child healing instead no one would care but just because the stigma around the term age regression people hate it without actually looking any further into what age regression actually is so i hope to clear up the misconception i didn’t mean to start a controversy :’)

For my fellow autistic regressors:

It's okay to feel uncomfortable with the way allistics stereotype us as childish, immature, innocent, and overall seem to infantilize many of us. Just because you're a regressor does not mean that those stereotypes are less harmful for a lot of us.

Remember that you do not contribute to those stereotypes by regressing. Your coping mechanism is not an excuse for allistics to infantilize us. Many of us are very much still adults and function as such most of the time.

(And remember that there are also many autistics who do not regress who also fit into those stereotypes, just as I'm sure there are some who fit into that regardless of if they are regressed or not. No matter what, those stereotypes should not define us. They should not be used against us.)

So remember, your regression is valid, it's not harmful or contributing to these stereotypes. The way non-autistics view us should not define us.
