could u plz write a jj x reader angst where reader is caught in a building with a bomb and jj finds them afterwards + hospital moment. it can end angsty or happy, ur call. thankssss
Request for @melatonindaydreamz: I gave you a little bit of an angsty and happy ending cuz i couldn't decide lol. i hope you like it! Warnings: explosions, mentions of disability discussed in a not quite positive light by the disabled person word count: 1.6k (I got carried away lol)
The warehouse was huge and definitely needed more than two people to case it, but the rest of the team was on site all the way across town, leaving just you and JJ for the take down. The clock was ticking for sure. The unsub, a teenage girl from the local high school, had been on a spree but suddenly disappeared leaving the trail completely cold. The warehouse was the first hit Garcia had in the last three days, and there was no time to lose.
“If you’ve got the sweep here, I’m gonna move to the next building,” you said. JJ was one of the most prolific agents, and you knew she could handle sweeping the first building alone, even though she wouldn’t want to. You didn’t want to waste time, anxious to bring in the unsub and get the two of you back home to your apartment in D.C.
“No, there’s no way I’m letting us split up. Last time I split up with someone, Spencer was kidnapped and I just-” You cut off your girlfriend with a kiss, hoping to ease some of her anxiety. Whether she liked it or not, you had to catch this unsub, which meant splitting up.
“I promise that I’ve got this, and I know you do too. Plus, I’m pretty sure I can take down a teenager. If I can take you down in training, a badass federal agent with years of experience, then I’m pretty sure the unsub doesn’t stand a chance.” Luckily, you were able to get a little giggle out of her.
“That was one time, and I let you win.”
“Whatever helps you sleep at night, baby.”
“I just can’t lose you, Y/n.” You felt the worry in her voice. Placing a kiss on her forehead, you reassured her one last time.
“You couldn’t get rid of me if you tried to, JJ,” you said, and with that you headed off into the next building.
The warehouse was set up in a series of buildings one after the other, all connected by hallways. Towards the back of the building, there was one of these hallways leading into the next building over, so you quickly made your way through. On the other side, you could see someone huddled in the far corner blocking something from view. Careful not to alert the figure, you made your way slowly down the side towards the back, using the pallets to disguise you approach.
“Hands up! I’m Agent y/l/n from the FBI, it’s over.” Immediately you regretted splitting up, because the unsub launched herself at you, lacing her hands around your throat. She tackled you into the stack of pallets behind, pain shooting through your spine. The shock of the impact paralyzed you for a moment. You wrestled her to the ground though and gave your speech. As you looked up from where the two of you were on the ground, you could finally see the bomb in the corner. It was a complete surprise.
“Y/n!” JJ shouted as she ran into the room. “I heard the crash, are you okay?”
“You need to get out of here!”
“There’s no way I’m leaving you!”
“JJ! There’s a bomb in the corner! I need you to get out of here. Call Hotch, let him know we need a bomb tech, I’ve got her, just get out of here. Please!” She hesitated for a moment and started to call Hotch.
“I’m calling but I’m not leaving!”
You moved to grab your handcuffs, reading the unsub her rights. That’s when she pulled the explosive trigger out from her pocket. You watched the clock shift from 3 hours to 30 seconds. The surprise let the unsub get the upper hand as she wrestled you again.
JJ started towards you, but you didn’t want her caught up in everything.
“The clock! JJ, we don’t have time!! You need to run. Please go!” You slammed the butt of your gun against the unsubs head, knocking her over. Scrambling to your feet, you took off in a sprint. “I said run!” you screamed again, and JJ finally disappeared through the hallway.
Suddenly, the unsub slammed you to the ground from behind. She was weak, though, so you were able to turn around and fire. The bullet landed in her shoulder and gave you just enough reprieve to get out from under her. However, it was too late.
It was the loudest thing you had ever heard. One second, JJ’s voice was yelling as you crawled towards the hallway, and the next, the only thing your ears could register was the deafening boom of the bomb going off behind you. Everything felt too bright as a hot stinging pain ripped through your whole body. You could barely keep your eyes open as JJ rushed back in.
“Come on, baby, stay with me. Please just keep those pretty little eyes open. I need you to stay with me, alright?” JJ’s voice was having the opposite effect of what she was hoping for though, because you were slowly lulled into sleep by her soft words.
There were voices swimming through the room when you started to wake up. It was definitely a relief to hear something other than explosions and ringing. However, what you were hearing made you nervous.
“I’ll go make that call about your apartment,” said a voice that sounded like Morgan.
“If it’s alright, I’m going to check back in with Garcia. There’s a lot of changes that need to be made, and she can start them before we get back. Let us know when y/n wakes up and we can discuss next steps,” said another voice that sounded similar to Hotch. You were confused about what needed to be discussed.
There was an uncomfortable dull pinching that started to dig into your back more and more as you woke up. You attempted to push yourself up but were too weak to make any progress. There was very little feeling coming from your legs which was confusing.
“Hey, y/n, just lay down okay? Let me get the doctor.”
“Are my legs moving? I can’t feel them.” The look in JJ’s eyes and the tears that she wiped away confirmed your fears were true.
“I’ll get the doctor,” Spencer said from the doorway. “I think the two of you should talk,” and with Spencer now gone, and Emily following him, it was just you and JJ in the room.
“Um, there was a piece of shrapnel that landed in your lower back. The injury is incomplete, you can regain some of your movement, but it’s gonna be a lot of work.” JJ could barely meet your eyes as she told you what happened.
It was heartbreaking news. If you couldn't do fieldwork, would they even keep you in the BAU? Was that the change Hotch had been talking about? And JJ, what was she going to think when she eventually got tired of helping you? Would she still want to be together if you need assistance? Would she even want to help at all? Maybe Morgan was helping her move her things out of your apartment. There was so much going through your head that you didn’t even know where to start. Luckily, JJ started for you.
“While you were asleep, I started looking at new apartments.” So she really was moving.
“Rossi also said we can stay with him as you get used to the wheelchair.” Wait, we? Was she not leaving?
“I don’t know how easy our apartment is going to be to navigate, but Morgan sent one of his contractors over there right now to take measurements and make a plan for any changes. Also, Garcia is already bossing everyone around to get ramps in the bullpen so you can get into my office.” JJ’s laugh at Garcia made the hospital room feel a little less heavy. You were even able to let out a small chuckle, but your ribs still hurt from the explosion. Suddenly, JJ’s words really started to sink in.
“Wait, so I get to stay?” You were shocked. You had mentally started to prepare yourself to be kicked out of the BAU. You were trying to brace yourself for JJ to leave. She just confirmed that neither of those things were going to happen though. “And you still want to stay too? With me?”
“I love you, Y/n. Of course, I’m staying. You are so much more than a field agent and we need you. I need you, baby.  I don’t have a life to live if you’re not in it, and the BAU can’t catch the bad guys without you there.” Gently, JJ covered your face in kisses. You couldn’t help but giggle. It was nice to feel her lips against your face, a major contrast from all of the aching and stinging from your injuries.
“I am so lucky I get to love you, Jennifer Jarreau.”
“Not as lucky as I am, Y/n y/l/n. Now, you can’t fly yet, plus the jet will need to be fitted to accommodate your chair, so I have the honor of driving you back to home. Hotch gave us the next two weeks off so we can take our time.”
“Are you upset?” you said, looking back at Hotch who just returned to the room.
“Yes, but in the sense that I wish you weren’t in this position. You did good work today, Y/n. JJ will make sure you rest up on the way home, and we will discuss when you are back in D.C.”
“Oh I promise, y/n will be doing absolutely nothing.”
“God, I’m gonna hate this,” you groaned.
“And I’m going to love it, because I love you,” JJ shot right back, lacing her hand in yours.
“I love you too, JJ.”
Even though thing would be so different now, you knew that with JJ by your side, everything was going to be okay.
I hope you enjoyed it! It's my first time like taking requests so idk if I like did it justice, but i just hope it's what you were looking for. I had a really fun time writing this son thank you for your request! Send your requests here! Find my masterlist here!

We're Okay
A/N - Guys idk where this came from. I guess I'm just feeling emotional and inspired.
Content - After JJ admits her decade-long love for Spencer, you and your boyfriend have to have a conversation to calm both of your doubts and fears.
Warnings: spencer reid x fem!reader, season 14 spoilers, anxiety, mentions of typical BAU-level crime stuff, fluff at the end
Tumblr media
You walked in the door slowly, cautionary even; afraid the smallest noise would bring reality crashing down on you. The car ride home had been completely silent, as neither of you bothered to turn on the radio. Spencer shuffled in behind you, the click of the lock making you wince as you did your best to avoid his gaze. You stripped off your coat, throwing it over the couch before walking straight into the bathroom, shutting the door firmly behind you.
As you started the shower and stripped off your clothes, the evening’s events rushed back into your mind. Being involved in a hostage situation with an unstable unsub was one thing. JJ being held at gunpoint was worse. However, as if all that wasn’t enough, JJ admitting her decade-long hidden love for Spencer was the final nail in the coffin. As you climbed into the shower, you did your best to let the water wash away the thoughts running through your head.
Unfortunately, your attempt was unsuccessful. As you dried off and wrapped yourself in a towel, your mind raced. You’d been dating Spencer for nearly a year and a half. The two of you had just recently moved in together. Having known him and JJ for at least half a decade, you knew they were close, but you never would have guessed this was coming. You couldn’t help but wonder if he felt the same way she did. If so, what did this mean for your relationship?
After stalling in the bathroom for so long that goosebumps dotted your freshly dried body, you mustered up the courage to slip out of the bathroom and into the bedroom that you shared with Spencer. As you walked across the hallway, you could see his silhouette sitting on the living room couch, head bent forward. You couldn’t tell if he was reading or in deep thought, but you decided that either option was better than the alternative: trying to have a conversation.
You snuck into the bedroom, gently turning on the bedroom light and letting your eyes adjust to the warm glow of your room. You meandered to the closet, pulling out a simple t-shirt and shorts to sleep in. Slipping into your pajamas and stealing a glance at yourself in the vanity mirror, you noticed one of the many images covering the tabletop.
A framed photograph from less than a year ago of JJ, Will, Spencer, and yourself with the boys on a weekend hiking trip. You felt a pang of guilt in your chest and wondered if Will had any idea what was going on in JJ’s head. You shook the thought away, reminding yourself that you had bigger problems of your own to deal with. You turned back to the bed, sliding under the covers and turning off the light. Despite your distress, you were exhausted and you found yourself losing track of time and drifting off to sleep in mere minutes.
*  *  *
You awoke to the sound of the bedroom door latching shut. You rolled over, blinking your eyes open in an attempt to sneak a peak at your bedside alarm clock. You’d already been asleep for three hours and Spencer was just now coming to bed. It was well after midnight, and you knew that meant he had been up thinking about something. You figured it would be best not to push the subject after everything that had happened.
With your eyes shut, you waited to feel the familiar sensation of Spencer climbing into bed. Instead, you felt his weight at the foot of the bed, as if he had perched himself on the end. You tried not to think much of this and did your best to fake sleep. However, it soon became apparent that Spencer was on to you.
“I know you’re awake,” he said gently. His voice was gruff from the hours he’d spent in silence. Spencer waited before speaking again, “I think we should talk about what happened.”
There it is, you thought. Your stomach sank as your eyes fluttered open. You rolled over to face him, leaning up on your arms. It was then you noticed that he was still in his suit. His unkempt hair fell over his eyes and you couldn’t help but feel a bit sorry for the disheveled man in front of you. “Alright,” you relented, still refusing to meet his eyes, “what do you want to talk about?”
Spencer rolled his neck, tension evident in his movements. “I want to know how you feel about what was said earlier,” he said. For the first time in hours, you met his eyes, trying to gauge his sincerity. You found no signs of dishonesty, so you fell back on the bed, letting out a dramatic sigh.
“I don’t know, Spencer,” you groaned. “I definitely was surprised. I definitely wasn’t thrilled.” Spencer nodded, moving some hair away from his eyes as you spoke. “But,” you started again, “it’s not like we can go back and change it now.”
He reached an arm out, putting a hand over the covers on top of your knee. “I know,” he whispered, “I just wanted to make sure you were okay.”
You scoffed a bit at his sincerity and his innocence, meeting his eyes once more. “And how do you feel about it?” you asked.
Spencer bit his lip in thought. You could tell you had caught him off guard with the question, and he seemed to be calculating his response. “Can I be honest with you?” he said.
You raised your eyebrows, the nervous feeling in your stomach intensifying. Is this where he tells you he feels the same way and leaves for good? You pushed your thoughts to the side. “Always,” you whispered.
He sighed, laying back on the bed so he was next to you. You could feel the heat radiating off him, and you wanted nothing more than to curl into his warmth. You knew this wasn’t the time, so you held yourself back and held your breath, awaiting his response.
“First, I was confused,” Spencer explained, eyes locked on the ceiling. “I haven’t thought about JJ like that in over ten years. Frankly, I never knew she thought of me that way, so I was caught off-guard.”
So he did have a crush on her at one time, you thought. You were ready to close your eyes in defeat, to slip off the bed and out of the apartment and never come back when he cleared his throat.
“But then,” he started once more, “I had a quick epiphany of all the moments she’d gone out of her way for me, and I could understand where she was coming from.” You turned to look at him, watching his eyes scan the ceiling as he tried to come up with his next statements.
“And?” you asked, prompting him to continue.
“And then,” he continued your previous statement, “I was terribly appalled.”
Your head, which had turned to the ceiling, snapped back in his direction. You felt your eyebrows raise and your jaw drop open a bit in surprise. “Appalled?” you asked, confusion evident in your expression.
“Appalled,” Spencer echoed, sitting up on the edge of the bed once more and looking back at you.
“Why?” you asked.
Spencer shook his head, looking around the room. “I’ve been thinking about that for the last couple hours, and I’ve come up with a lot of reasons,” he mused. “I know she was in a tight place, but Will deserves better than that. The boys deserve better than that. But aside from them,” he leaned over on the bed, intertwining his fingers with yours, “I couldn’t stop thinking about what you must have thought. I was so afraid of your reaction and of losing you.”
Despite your evident emotional state as tears pooled in your eyes, you tried to play it off. “Spencer, this isn’t about me,” you reminded him.
“Yes,” he said, lying next to you, “it is.” Spencer ran a hand through his hair, pulling some curls out of his eyes. “Everyone knows how much I love you. I know how scary something like this can be. But you have to know that I have no idea where this came from and that anything JJ and I had died, on my end, long before I ever met you.”
You glanced over at him, the sincerity in his voice had moved you to believe him. For a moment, you forgot about JJ and Will, the boys, and the implications of her words. You offered his fingers a small squeeze. “So we’re okay?” you asked in a tiny voice.
“More than,” Spencer whispered.
He rolled on his side to face you and you mirrored his actions. He wrapped his arms tight around your body, the textured material of his suit jacket pressed against your cheek. A gentle kiss was pressed to your forehead and you found yourself falling back into sleep. After several minutes passed, you felt Spencer’s voice rumble through his chest for a final time before he succumbed to sleep: “Ever since I met you,” he mumbled, smoothing some stray hairs away from your face, “it’s always been you.”

can you write reader x agent rossi, with the dialogue prompt: "did you just call me grandad?"
A/N: Only now realising I forgot to use the dialogue prompt haha.
Tumblr media
Over the few months you had been an official member of the BAU, the team had undoubtedly learnt more about the girl they'd each raised in part. Naturally, they'd all deemed themselves pretty brushed up on one Y/N Reid, having been subjected to all the homework questions and babysitting duties the moment Spencer had joined the team. But since your official enlistment, CV, interview and all (though Hotch would be lying if he'd glanced much longer than five seconds at the applications of other graduate candidates), they considered themselves professionals.
Profilers at their best, Hotch had discovered your self-confidence was not as high as you liked others to believe, which often bled into your countenance on the field. Not the worst thing, easy to manage. He planned to talk to you about it soon.
Derek had placed a bet with himself that you were more protective of Spencer on the field than he was of you. Endearing. He found it sweet that Spencer didn't even notice.
J.J. had figured out you absolutely hated ice cream, and Emily had decided you pretended you did because it was Spencer's favourite food. Penelope insisted you had a natural talent with computers. You insisted you did not.
Rossi, meanwhile, had found out that you had an affinity for using him as your pillow. Spencer was slightly ahead of him, of course, but he hadn't yet noticed you using anyone else. At first he'd figured it wasn't intentional, but somehow, when you were on the jet, you typically found yourself beside him. Profiling told him now you did it because you felt safe with him, subconsciously or not. He couldn't complain about that.
On this particular trip, you had nodded off only half an hour ago as Rossi helped Hotch with some paperwork. The girl leaning into his side didn't bother him and never had. He'd draped his jacket over your shoulders, as he always did, and got on with it.
You didn't usually wake until the plane was due for landing, but this time you jolted a little, eyes flickering open as you lifted your head from Rossi's shoulder and glanced blearily around you.
"Good morning," Rossi said affectionately, fixing the jacket around your shoulders.
You turned to look at him, taking a second to process who he was before you frowned. "It's morning?"
Rossi nodded seriously and sat back. "Oh, yeah. You've been sleeping on me for hours."
With how sleep-addled your mind was, you had no clue if he was joking or not, or even if you were awake or dreaming. Thankfully, you had enough consciousness to notice the rare smile on Hotch, who sat opposite over his own papers, and then the twinkle in Rossi's eyes when you turned back to him.
Groaning, you fell back against your seat. Rossi chuckled and reached over to pat your leg.
"Only teasing, kiddo. Go back to sleep. Still three hours to go."
You rubbed at your eyes with a yawn but listened nonetheless. "You're mean, Grandad," you mumbled before swiftly finding your previous place buried into his side and falling quicker into sleep than both Rossi and Hotch had ever seen someone achieve.
Rossi stared at Hotch. "I don't know if that was an insult or a very endearing compliment."
Hotch chuckled quietly. “I think it was a mix of both.”
Rossi adjusted the jacket again. “Hmm. No, that doesn’t reassure me.”
Later, Spencer would tell him it had likely been an insult. No matter. Rossi would be your Grandad if your feeling safe was the result.

What a way to care
one shot | Criminal Minds Masterlist | Masterlists
Tumblr media
Fandom: Criminal Minds
Pairing: Emily Prentiss x fem!Reader
Genre: Angst and smut
Words: 3.3k+
Warnings: SMUT (r receiving), top!Emily, bottom!reader, swearing, dom Emily, overstimulation, arguing and shouting, spanking.
Summary: Emily and y/n had a complicated work relationship. Emily (her boss) doesn’t hide her distain for the younger woman. Every time she feels a sense of pride it seems her boss rips it away and labels it as not good enough.
A/N- first Emily fic!
Y/n had been working at the BAU for a year, she’d grown immensely close to everyone, except one person. Emily Prentiss, the unit chief. For some reason the woman always gave her the cold shoulder and time after time dismissed her. The worst part of all was she didn’t try to hide it.
She’d never outwardly done anything to annoy the older woman, nor had she undermined her authority in any shape or form. Usually y/n could take it on the nose and continue with her head held high. Unfortunately, enough was enough and she’d reached her limit during the current case they were working on.
The raven-haired woman had taken it upon herself to shout at the young woman in front of the whole team. All she’d done was follow orders and went in behind the SWAT team, but apparently it was her fault she’d been shot at.
It took JJ and Tara interfering for Emily to finally back off. Though before they came the argument got heated and it was the first-time y/n had raised her voice and sworn at her boss, it was safe to say, she’d lost all her composure. After getting patched up by the EMT’s, JJ drove y/n to the hotel and helped drop her stuff in her room. She reassured the blonde she was fine being alone and didn’t really want company. So, JJ reluctantly left.
As she fell back onto the bed she admired the small bandage on her arm, thankfully the bullet only grazed her arm, though that didn’t seem to matter to Emily.
“It doesn’t matter whether it was serious or not! You got shot and you need to be more fucking careful!” were the exact words the unit chief used. Y/n winced thinking about the harsh tone Emily used and the blame she irrefutably placed on her.
She didn’t have a lot of time to process the conversation as three loud knocks came booming from her hotel door. Letting out a sigh she stood up and approached the peephole to see who had the audacity to annoy her now. Black hair came into view and y/n instinctively rolled her eyes. There was no way she had the energy for round two or suffer the consequences of their previous altercation.
“Can this fucking wait till the morning Prentiss?” The words sassily slipped from her lips before she knew what she had even said. Her hand came up over her mouth as the realisation of what she’d said dawned on her.
“I’m going to let that slip, just open the door y/l/n,” there was a small pause, “please.”
Y/n was too taken back by the sudden pleasantry that she reached out to unlock the door, not bothering to open it herself. Emily opened the door and walked in as y/n made her way to the couch to sit down, zero effort was made to acknowledge the older woman who was now leaning against the wall in front of her.
She started to play with a loose string on the sofa, finding it very intriguing all of a sudden. The silence was becoming uncomfortable, but she wasn’t about to say shit, not after the way Emily treated her. She was the one who wanted to come in for some reason, whatever that reason was she couldn’t care less. That was Emily’s problem.
“About today…” Emily started. Y/n glared up at the older woman through her lashes, blank faced. She raised her eyebrows and blinked a couple times waiting for Emily to continue. “You shouldn’t have gone in like you did.”
Y/n clenched her jaw, if this was going to happen, if Emily was going to repeat the same bullshit she pulled earlier, the young woman would be beyond pissed. The thought alone was causing her blood to boil. She flared her nostrils, and finally raised her head to fully give the woman all her attention. She made sure not to mask any emotions boiling to the surface like she usually did, because this would not be like the other times, she wouldn’t let it.
Emily seemed a little taken back by the murderous look she was receiving, her body tensed, and she was fighting back the urge to go into defence mode. She knew she had to skip to the point, an apology was in order, whether or not she wanted to apologise was another issue entirely. JJ and Tara had hammered it into her head she was out of order, no matter how frustrated she got, she had no right to take it out on y/n.
The young woman remained quiet, refusing to open her mouth. It seemed like Emily was baiting her and she wasn’t having any of it. Emily knew this too and it was driving her crazy, the look she was receiving wasn’t enough, she’d tried to deny it, but the fire she saw in y/n earlier had ignited something in her and she wanted to feel it again. Though it seemed she’d have to settle and get the apology out of the way.
“I’m sorry okay?” she spat out, it wasn’t aggressive but it most certainly was not heartfelt or touching. It was empty and forced and both women knew it.
Y/n shot up to her feet, the pathetic excuse of an apology enraged her, anger coursed through her veins, and she didn’t have the willpower to hold back any longer.
“Are you fucking joking?” the younger woman’s face was contorted, her eyebrows furrowed as she seethed through her teeth. “You’re ‘sorry’? For what Emily? Treating me like shit, or embarrassing me in front of the team, or wait maybe making me feel small every opportunity you have? Please elaborate I’m dying to know?” her voice was dripping with sarcasm and pure unfiltered rage.
At first Emily was shocked, but slowly the feelings from earlier arose once again and a smirk crept onto her face, only further angering the y/n.
“You think this is fucking funny? If this is your attempt at an apology you can just leave.” Tears were springing to life in her eyes as she began to walk to the door. It was then she felt a hand on her arm, preventing her from moving any further. She turned back around, and their eyes met, y/n looked into Emily’s chocolate brown eyes and watched as they softened.
The hand relaxed a little but stayed on y/n’s upper arm, near her bandage, Emily’s other hand came to her face, a finger wiped away a stray tear on her cheek. She felt her whole body relax and tingle, a weird sensation came from where Emily’s hand was. Not knowing what the hell was happening to her, she shrugged off the hand on her arm and stepped away from the older woman.
“I said you can leave.” She stood her ground; it was her way or the highway. If Emily was going to apologise it would be done right or not at all.
Emily clenched her jaw and took a deep breath in and out of her nose, squaring her shoulders. She locked her eyes firmly onto y/n.
“You’re right, I’ve treated you differently. Yes, I’ve been harsh but it was for your own go-” she was cut off before she could continue.
“For my own good?” her voice was a little louder than expected, unfortunately for everyone else in the hotel she could give less of a shit. “Come on let’s stop pretending, you hate me Prentiss. How is you treating me like shit and giving me hell, for my own good?”
Emily visibly flinched at the statement, of course she knew she was a little harder on y/n but hate? Had she let it get that far that that’s what the young woman thought.
She stepped forward so there was now a small amount of space between the two of them, “I don’t hate you y/n.” she said sighing. “I push you because I know you can do more, because you hold yourself back. What happened today was too much and I’m sorry. I just don’t want to see anything happen to you and today, today you came close.” Her voice got quieter, and the last sentence could have easily been missed.
Both women seemed taken back by the honestly displayed. The atmosphere in the room quickly changed, all that could be heard were the light breaths from y/n and Emily. The arguing seemed to have exerted them more than they knew as they both tried to steady their breathing.
Their eyes frantically searched one another’s, y/n was looking to find any hint of dishonesty, she couldn’t tell whether she was relieved, happy or angry to only discover sincerity held in the brown iris’s.
“Why-why do you care?” it came out in barely a whisper, Emily heard, nonetheless. Taking a step forward again she closed the space between the two and rested her hands on the younger woman’s waist. Y/n felt her breath catch in her throat, unsure how to feel about the sudden tender contact. Not being able to take the feeling of Emily’s eyes burning into her she looked at the floor, shifting uncomfortably on her feet.
When a hand was removed from her waist, she couldn’t help but miss the contact, that was until the hand seemingly found its way to her chin. Light pressure was applied as Emily lifted her head to meet her gaze once again.
“Why do you think y/n?” she breathed out.
There was nothing to be said, at least nothing y/n could think of. If she was honest with herself, she had no idea why Emily would care. This whole situation was rendering her speechless; a couple hours ago she was convinced her boss hated her and was out to get her. But now, now things were unclear, and it seemed she had read the whole situation wrong. In some weird fucked up way Emily wanted the best for her. To make sure she excelled at her job and made no mistakes, it was a way of keeping her safe on the job. What it was, was confusing as hell.
She let herself fully relax into the older woman, “You’re confusing as hell Prentiss.” She said helplessly.
Emily pulled her in closer so y/n could rest her head against hers. “I barely understand myself sometimes. All I know is seeing you today, not knowing what happened after the shots were fired, it scared me. Maybe I haven’t shown it in the best way, but I do care.”
“You, Emily Prentiss, have a really fucked up way of showing you care.” Y/n smirked playfully, that’s when she felt her ass being spanked. Pain coursed through her veins, and she half whimpered half moaned at the contact, pain quickly subsided into waves of pleasure.
Emily cocked an eyebrow. “You shouldn’t swear. It doesn’t suit you.” She tightly gripped y/n’s waist with both hands and started walking forward, forcing her to back up towards the bed. “Maybe I need to teach you another lesson?”
The older woman smiled victoriously when y/n began to slowly nod, the submission she displayed was turning her on and she needed more, to see her underneath her, to see her begging. Y/n felt the back of her knees hit the bed, but the pushing didn’t halt causing her to fall back onto the bed. Emily subsequently climbed on top of her as the two moved further up the bed.
Looking into the eyes of her boss, y/n saw the brown of Emily’s eyes were almost eclipsed by the blacks of her pupils, her eyes were filled with pure lust and wanting. Both set of eyes darted between lips and eyes, y/n felt her tongue slip out of her mouth to wet her lips that were suddenly receiving so much attention. The two hands on either side of her head now bent and she felt soft black hair tickle her exposed shoulders.
Lips came crashing on hers, the kiss was far from soft and was quickly becoming more and more heated as they both started fighting for control. Hands were felt on Emily’s waist pulling her body closer to y/n’s, which she allowed. Y/n’s felt teeth lightly grip her bottom lip and let a soft moan out.
Emily took this opportunity to slip her tongue through the parted lips, swirling it around and tracing the roof of the young woman’s mouth. Y/n’s hands came up from Emily’s waist to fiddle with her blouse buttons.
Emily pulled her lips away sensing the frustration building up in the woman under her. She pulled the shirt over her head and lowered herself back down, this time her lips connected with the soft skin of y/n’s neck. She ran her tongue along the area, kissing and nibbling, stopping when one area seemed to have more of an effect.
Y/n’s neck arched, her head pressing into the pillow under her as Emily nibbled and sucked on her sweet spot, not for a second caring if she left a mark. Her soul focus was revelling in the pleasure coursing through her veins and pulsating between her thighs.
A hand was removed from beside her head and began to play with the hem of her tank top, which she quickly pulled off. When the lips were removed from her neck, she couldn’t help but drink up the view of Emily straddling her in only a bra and jeans.
Hands ran up and down the raven-haired woman’s torso and y/n slipped a hand under her lacy black bra, cupping one of her breasts in her hands, tenderly fondling it. She locked her lips onto Emily’s exposed neck and kissed down to her chest, moving her other hand to the back of the bra and easily unclasping it and taking a hardened nipple into her mouth.
She was harshly pushed back onto the bed as her bra was yanked over her head and thrown somewhere on the hotel floor. She felt her trousers being taken off and raised her hips to assist, a breath of warm air was felt by her ear as she heard Emily whisper “Good girl.”
Y/n laid there exposed in only her underwear, everything was telling her to cover herself, but she did nothing of such, the want for Emily to see all of her was overpowering. She found her hands on the buckle to Emily’s off centred belt and she began fumbling to take it off. The second the belt was taken off, y/n got to work on Emily’s jeans.
Within seconds of the jeans being flung somewhere in the room, Emily was back on top of y/n pinning her arms down over her head. The feeling of Emily’s soft skin brushing directly against her own sent sparks flying through ever nerve in her body.
Lips pressed against one of y/n’s nipples taking the bud into her mouth sucking and teething lightly. The heat growing between y/n's legs was becoming unbearable and she was ready to beg for more but didn’t want to give in just yet.
The moment she felt a knee between her legs, the younger woman began to grind against it needed some release. She felt Emily smirk against her nipple, “patience.” She purred.
She removed her hands from y/n and slowly kissed down her stomach until she reached her panties, gripping onto them with her teeth, she tugged them down. The young woman looks down to see Emily coming face to face with her dripping cunt, she watched as her boss’s lip wedged itself between her teeth hungrily.
One finger ran through her folds causing her hips to buck up at the contact, she wanted more. “Please.”
“Say it again.”
“Please.”
The finger moved up to her clit but teasingly moved away causing y/n to become more and more frustrated.
“Say my name.”
“Please Emily.”
And with that, two fingers plunged into her and she moaned out Emily’s name without quite realising what she’d said. But hearing her name fall from y/n’s lips only incentivized Emily. She brought her lips to y/n’s clit and began to move her tongue in circular motions, alternating between sucking, nibbling and licking.
The immense pleasure y/n felt surging through her veins was immeasurable and overwhelming, but she relished every second of it. Just when she thought she could stay quiet the fingers inside her curled and pumped harder and faster continuously hitting her g spot over and over.
“Oh fuck Emily.” She half moaned half screamed out.
The fingers stopped pumping as fast and y/n could have cried out for more, that was before a slap came full force to her ass, causing her to yelp out.
“Don’t swear.” Emily mumbled against her clit.
“I won’t, I’m sorry, please don’t stop.” y/n begged, and it was music to the raven-haired woman’s ears. She picked her pace back up and the feeling of being at Emily’s will was pushing y/n closer and closer to her orgasm. Her body was convulsing as pleasure pulsated through her veins.
Continuous moans passed through her lips progressively getting louder the closer she got to her sweet release. The expert tongue on her clit got faster and faster. When Emily trusts got even harder y/n felt herself fall apart, her legs began to shake uncontrollably. Her whole body convulsed as waves of pleasure washed over her whole body and she cried out in ecstasy.
“Emily, Emily, EMILY.”
But she didn’t stop, Emily kept her unrelenting pace and y/n was fighting against her whole body as she felt a second orgasm coming despite not being finished with her first. She grabbed a fistful of Emily’s dark hair not sure whether she was pulling her away or pushing her to keep going. The only thing she knew was she was putty in Emily’s hands, or in this case fingers and they weren’t going to stop until she was spent.
At this point volume control was thrown out the window as y/n was screaming out gibberish, her moans could most likely be heard from outside the hotel room but neither women cared.
The tightening grip on her hair only motivated Emily to keep going as her jaw became sore and her fingers were stiff.
It all paid off when y/n’s back arched off the bed, her walls gripped Emily’s fingers and a throaty groan was heard from all corners of the room. Emily slowed down until she felt y/n dug her away, even the smallest touch would have sent her into a third unprovoked orgasm and y/n felt like she may pass out if that happened.
She picked her head up to see Emily wiping her mouth with the back of her hand smirking as she took in the sight of y/n laid on the bed completely exhausted, trying to catch her breath.
Y/n saw the lust in those darkened eyes, she wanted to give her more and more, but stars appeared in her vision, and she couldn’t stop her legs from shaking. Just the feel of Emily's drenched fingers sliding out of her caused her to whimper.
Emily kissed her way back up to y/n’s lips and laid the softest kiss on the swollen lips, laying herself next to her she moved pieces of stray hairs away from y/n’s sweaty forehead and used her other hand to run fingers up and down the young woman’s stomach.
Instinctively y/n closed her eyes and hummed into the comfort of Emily’s touch. When she opened her eyes and tried to sit up, Emily pushed her back down and she shot her a confused look.
“It’s your turn.” She tiredly pleaded.
Emily wrapped her arm around y/n’s shoulder and pulled her in, her head now lying on her exposed chest. She placed a soft kiss to her forehead and started tracing shapes onto her back whilst y/n did the same on her chest.
And that’s how they fell asleep, wrapped into each other and somewhere between falling asleep one phrase fell from y/n’s lips. “You, Emily Prentiss, have a really fucked up way of showing you care, but I’m glad you do.”

Bring Your Kid To Work Day (BAU x Single Dad!Reader)
This turned out exceedingly long but I couldn't get the idea out of my head so I just had to write it out. I personally really wanna be a dad one day (with or without a partner) and seeing how the BAU parents handle their kids always warms my heart so much.
Wordcount: 5.4k
warning: kidnapping
Summery: Being a single dad is hard. Like really hard, and you thought that maybe bringing your son with you into work just once would be okay. Especially when his school was shut down but...
Tumblr media
The blaring of the alarm woke you up from sweet elusive sleep.
You debated letting it ring but your arm went out to expertly turn it off.
7:09 A.M.
you wiped the sleep from your eyes and grabbed your phone from beside your alarm clock, being greeted by the single worst email you could have ever gotten. Your son's daycare was closed.
Your son attended a small local daycare, the entire facility had three teachers and two other employees, all off which —along with most of the kids as of recently— had come down with the flu. You sighed, discarding any thought of getting yourself ready before you found a solution to your childcare problem.
You had to be at Quantico in two hours and the drive alone took almost an hour. You called every single babysitter you knew, you were desperate but none were able to come by on such short notice so for lack of a better option you got yourself ready as fast as you could and went to wake up your son for a trip to Quantico. You just hoped it wouldn't bite you in the ass.
When you finally walked through the glass doors of the BAU offices you were half an hour late and carrying a sleeping four year old on your hip along with a baby bag over your shoulder to go with your usual briefcase.
Your out of sorts appearance got the attention of your coworkers and while you tried to put everything away by your desk and balance your still sleeping son in your arms, Morgan came up to you.
"What's all this L/N?" He asked and you turned and smiled at him, a smile that looked more insane than kind.
"This, is my son who is still sleeping from the drive because his daycare is closed and I couldn't get a sitter in time" You said, an underlying warning tone to your words.
"What you forgot to book a sitter?" Reid asked from his place at his desk.
"I didn't forget, they just sent the email this morning. All three teachers came down with the flu... along with most of the class" You explained and Spencer scooted away from you and the sleeping boy in your arms.
"Calm down Reid, this kid's immune system is like something out of a comic book, he's fine." You said as the rest of your teammates came over to join the scene.
JJ along with Rossi coming to join the gaggle of profilers ignoring their work for the far more interesting show of their coworker with his son.
"Did you talk to Hotch about it? I mean, about him being here" JJ asked, pointing to the toddler in your arms and you nodded. As a fellow single parent Hotch understood enough to give you the okay to bring your son to work, after all it was supposed to just be a slow day to get paperwork done.
Just then he began to stir in your arms and you decided to sit down, adjusting the four year old so that he was sitting comfortably in your lap.
"Hey buddy, good morning" You said, moving some stray hair behind his ear so it wouldn't bother him.
The toddler didn't seem to enjoy being awake though, instead choosing to burrow his head into the crook of your neck, much to the amusement of the rest of the team.
"He's a cute little guy, I'll give you that" Rossi said and you chuckled. He really is.
"He is but he's also a menace once he really wakes up, I'm sorry ahead of time for that. He's a curious little thing and he still doesn't understand boundaries, like at all" You say, grimacing knowing in only a little bit you son would surely be running around trying to find everything he could play with in the bullpen.
Honestly the more you thought about it the worse of an idea bringing him to work was, not that you had much of a choice. It was that or take the day off and that wouldn't have been ideal either.
"Developmentally that's actually completely normal, kids can't actually conceptualize the concept of another person with no interest in them until they're a bit older—" Reid started to explain but Rossi cuts him off.
"You can take my office. That way the little sucker has a limited space to wreak havoc in" He said and you looked at him gratefully.
"You really don't have to do that" You said but he shook his head.
"Don't worry about it, it'll help all of us in the long run, just try not to let him trash the place" He said and you smiled.
"Thank you" You said and were about to transfer your files to his office when Morgan suddenly grabbed your baby bag and briefcase.
"Let me help" He said and you smiled again, thanking him and taking your still groggy toddler up the stairs and to Rossi's office.
About an hour later you went down to get yourself some coffee. It was the first time you left Rossi's office since you got settled and the italian man came up to you to see how everything was going. He'd moved his own paperwork to your desk in the meantime.
"How's the pipsqueak?" He asked and you smiled, pointing with your head to the office.
"He's great, drawing quietly on the floor— and don't worry if he gets crayons on your floor I'll clean it up" You hurried to say but Dave didn't look worried.
"Don't worry about it, are you managing to get anything done?" He asked.
"Yeah, he explored the office for a bit but now he's good. Thanks again by the way, it's a huge help" You said and Dave patted you on the back.
"That's good" He said but turned once he saw his office door open in his peripheral and you heard the soft pitter patter of small feet running down the stairs.
"Daddy! Daddy! Look what I drew!" Your son yelled as he ran into your legs and shoved a piece of paper into your hands.
"It's you and me in your office" He said, showing you the picture of a crudely drawn man and child holding hands in an office.
You bent down to look at the drawing at his level.
"That's wonderful sweetie but it's not my office, you see Mr. Rossi is letting me work in his office while you're here with me at work" You explained and pointed to Dave who gave a small wave at the boy.
"Hey buddy" He said and your son gave a small wave back.
The little guy's running got the attention of the rest of the team including one eccentric technical analyst.
"Well what do we have here?" Garcia asked as she along with Reid and JJ came up to the three of you.
"Aren't you a little cutie" Garcia said, kneeling down to pinch your son's cheeks.
"Guys, this is my son Danny, Danny these are my friends Ms. Garcia, Ms. Jereu and Doctor Reid, and of course Mr. Rossi whos letting us use his office" You said introducing the team to your son but also your son to your coworkers.
"You look a little old to be friends with my Dad" Danny told Rossi and the rest of the team that had gathered around burst out laughing.
"Danny! We don't say that. That's very rude" You scolded him but he looked confused.
"But he looks old, like grandpa" Danny said and you had to hold back from laughing because he had a point.
"Danny, those are the kinds of thoughts we keep inside our heads, not outside" You told him and he nodded. It was a conversation you'd had multiple times before and was easier for him to understand than social rules at this stage.
"Can you apologize to Mr. Rossi?" You asked and he did exactly that.
"I'm sorry" He said and Rossi smiled.
"It's fine kid, I am a relic of a better time" Rossi said humorously.
"Hey Danny do you wanna see something cool?" Garcia asked and that got the four year olds attention.
"Yeah!" He yelled and you were about to remind him to use his inside voice when instead Garcia took his hand and lead him to her famously cool batcave. But of course just as things were going fine the universe had to turn the tables.
"Guys, conference room now, we have a case" Hotch said, coming out of his office and you sighed.
The rest of the assembled team looked at you before heading to the conference room, leaving you alone with Rossi.
"Well that's just great" You said, massaging your temple.
"It'll be fine, we all understand if you stay back this time" Rossi said, walking with you to the round table room.
"I still feel bad about it" You said.
You were about to grab Hotch to tell him you'd do exactly what Rossi suggested when Reid came up to you. He hadn't actually entered the conference room yet and had heard your short conversation.
"You're gonna stay back?" He asked you.
"It's not like I have much of a choice, what am I gonna do? take him with us?" You asked and though it was rhetorical Reid answered.
"You could. You could stay at the local precinct and help me with the geographic profile" The younger man said.
"Reid, I can't just bring bring a four year old with me on a case" You tried to explain.
"But it's obvious you can work while he's around. Besides not having you there with us would throw off the entire balance of the team" To a point he was right. You'd been with the BAU for over a decade and in that time you'd only missed a small handful of cases (most of which because you were too sick to work). The team was used to relying on you.
"Besides most hotels have babysitting services and we'll be there to help you" He continued.
"I'm really not sure, it was enough of a stretch just to bring him here" You tried to say but Hotch came out to tell you both to join the team.
"Hotch—" You started to say but he cut you off.
"I heard part of the conversation, do whatever you feel comfortable doing but your input on this case would be invaluable. The decision is up to you but I'd appreciate it if you joined us for the briefing anyways" He said and you nodded.
"Okay, I'll just go get Danny set up" You said.
"Garcia already set him up with markers and coloring pages in Rossi's office" He said and you nodded, taking a deep breath you joined them for the briefing.
As soon as Hotch began introducing the case you realized why he said your input specifically would be useful. Someone was abducting parents in Seattle but had recently changed his MO and began abducting the kids with them and most recently, just a kid. Hence why the BAU were called in and Hotch was hoping to use your experience from the crimes against children unit to work the case. You'd worked in crimes against children for 6 years before joining the BAU and had the most experience working child abductions. If the unsub had started going after kids you were the the best person for the case. Except of course that you had your own child to worry about.
"Wheels up in 30" Hotch said as everyone dispersed and you went to tell him your decision.
"I'm going with you" You told him.
"And Danny?" He asked.
"If it's okay with you I'll bring him with me. He's a well behaved kid, he won't bother us, I promise" You explained and Hotch nodded.
"Okay" He said.
When you told Danny he would be coming with you he was over the moon. Of course he didn't really understand what you would be there to do but he was so excited he was jumping around Rossi's office.
"Do I get a badge like you do daddy?" He asked and you chuckled.
"Yeah, we can get you your own badge if you want but you have to be on your very best behavior okay buddy?" You asked and he nodded feverently.
"Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!" He said.
He was so excited when he saw the jet and then even more so when you pulled a few strings to let him sit with the pilot in the cockpit (mostly so he wouldn't hear the team discuss the details of the case and their theories).
When you made it to the local precinct Danny was so tired from the six hour journey he couldn't walk on his own so you carried him in your arms. You could feel the strange looks of the local officers but you didn't care instead you found a small couch you could lay Danny on until he woke up.
"What's with the kid?" The detective in charge of the case asked Hotch.
"For agent L/N to be here he has to as well" Hotch said and the detective nodded, mostly because you were approaching and he didn't want to be rude and continue asking questions.
"Agent L/N, this is detective Alden, detective this is SSA Y/N L/N" Hotch introduced and you shook detective Alden's hand. "It's nice to meet you" You said, the rest of the team were already divvying up the work with Reid starting a geographic profile, JJ and Morgan going to analyze the most recent crime scene and Rossi at the ME's looking at the the most recent body. This of course left you and hotch to interview the family of the most recent missing child.
"Do you uh— need anything for the kid?" Detective Alden asked.
"No thank you, Doctor Reid's keeping an eye on his as he's working while Agent Hotchner an I interview the family" You explained and the detective nodded.
"Right, well the most recent vic's parents are waiting in an interview room if you wanna talk to them" The detective said and pointed you in the direction of the room.
Spencer was so far into his mind he didn't even realize that Danny (whom was resting on a couch in the room with him) had woken up until he suddenly felt a pull at his tie.
Looking down, it was Danny. The little boy was wiping the sleep from his eyes as he started to speak.
"Where's my dad?" He asked. Spencer smiled and turned to give the boy his full attention.
"Your dad's working right now but he'll be back soon. Do you need something? Are you thirsty? Hungry?" He asked and Danny nodded.
"I want juice" He said and Spencer smiled, remembering you'd told him everything he'd need would be in the baby bag.
"Do you know in what pocket your dad keeps the juice?" Spencer asked but Danny shook his head.
"That's alright, we'll find it together" He said.
Once they did, spencer helped stick the straw into Danny's juice box and gave it to him along with some pretzels he found tucked away with other snacks in the same pocket.
"What were you doing?" Danny asked.
"Oh— I was creating geographic profile" Spencer answered and Danny tilted his head in confusion.
"What's that?" He asked.
"Well it's one of the things we do to find out more about the bad guy we're trying to catch" Spencer said, trying to keep it as kid friendly as possible.
"Are you trying to catch a bad guy now? Is that what my dad is doing?" Danny asked and Spencer nodded.
"Yeah, it's what all of us do" He said and that got Danny excited.
"Does that mean I get to help catch a bad guy?" The little boy asked and Spencer started to sweat, he didn't want to disappoint the boy by telling him was in fact not going to catch the bad guy but he didn't know what else to say. He wasn't going to lie.
"Well..."
"Reid!" Hotch called from outside the room and Spencer had never been happier to see what was going on.
"Just a moment Danny" He said and went to talk to his boss.
"Another body was just found behind the North Star diner on Greenwood Avenue" Hotch said.
"The most recent abductee?" Spencer asked.
"Local PD haven't ID'd him yet but it looks like it" Hotch answered.
"Greenwood is only 1.8 miles from here, it's way outside his comfort zone"
"I know, see if there's any connection between there and any of the other locations" Hotch instructed and Reid nodded, getting back to work.
"Dr. Reid, I'm bored" Danny said once he re-entered the room. For a second Reid completely forgot the four year old was even there.
"Don't you wanna draw?" Reid asked.
"Not anymore" The toddler said, shaking his head.
"I want my daddy" He said.
"Uh, well—" Almost as if on cue one of the rookie local officers came in with you and Danny ran into your leg. Meanwhile the rookie gave Reid some files Garcia had sent over.
"Daddy!" Danny said and you smiled, petting his head.
"Hey buddy, have you been good for Dr. Reid?" You asked and he nodded.
"But I'm really bored." Danny said.
"Well I have to work but maybe you and officer Parker can go to the library across the street? Get something to read?" You suggested. Officer Parker had brought in the parents of the most recent victim. She'd only been on the force for a week and you could tell she was a bit faint when it came to this case.
"Okay!" Danny said and went over to the rookie cop.
"Are you sure?" Officer Parker asked and you nodded.
"Call me if you need anything" You said, you trusted her enough to spend half an hour with Danny and the library was only a two minute walk from the station. Besides you had to go to the crime scene and Reid was obviously out of his depth trying to both work and entertain a four year old.
"Alright" She said and led Danny out of the precinct.
"You seem a lot calmer" Reid pointed out.
"we're getting closer to getting this guy and that means we can get back to D.C sooner" You admitted and he nodded.
When you got back from the crime scene you were able to finally give the profile.
The entire team along with most of the precinct were assembled and Morgan started you off.
"We believe our unsub is a white man in his late thirties to early forties with some kind of fantasy revolving around parenthood."
"He's moved on from kidnapping parents alone to parents along with their kids and most recently just the kid. This means his fantasy's evolving and with it his MO. The first victims were on their way to pick up their kids from school, then two parents out on a date, a family on an outing and most recently a child walking home from a friend's house." JJ continued.
"He holds his victims for up to three days before he kills them, we think this for them to participate in his fantasy" Hotch said.
"And when that doesn't work or they don't cooperate fully he kills them by slitting their throats" Rossi finished.
"This man is already looking for his next victim. following this evolving pattern he seems to have realized he can get what he wants best by abducting only the child so warn parents and schools and question any adult acting suspicious in areas with unsupervised children" You said.
"This unsub has left his comfort zone, perhaps because of police presence and is devolving. He's holding his victims for shorter periods and it is likely his kills will become more erratic." Reid said.
"It's imperative we catch him now before he has the chance to take another victim" Hotch added finally before dispersing the crowd of officers.
You checked your watch, it's been almost an hour since officer Parker left with Danny.
"Have you seen officer Parker?" You asked one of the officers close to you and he shook his head.
"Is everything alright?" Hotch asked.
"I told officer Parker to take Danny to a library across the street, she was getting too nervous to be of any help and Danny really wanted to go out and do something but they haven't gotten back yet and I haven't heard anything from Parker" You explained.
"She has your personal number?" Hotch asked and you nodded.
"Something's wrong, I told her to call if anything happens" You said.
"Go over there, make sure everything's okay, we'll call if anything's urgent" Hotch said and you nodded a thank you.
"I'll only be few minutes" You said and left, trying to tell yourself everything was fine.
Everything was in fact not okay and when you got to the library you saw a police radio on the ground along with a book.
"No, no, no, no" You muttered to yourself as you dialed Hotch as quick as you could.
"Agent Hotchner—" He said once he answered but you cut him off.
"They're gone" You said, panic in your voice.
"What?" Hotch asked.
"They're gone. There's a police radio and a book matching Danny's reading level on the ground but they're not here and— Hotch they're gone!" You said.
"We're on our way" He said. Within minutes the team as well as multiple officers were at the library. The scene was photographed and morgan and JJ went inside to see what could be seen on the security cameras.
Hotch was speaking with detective Alden since one of his officers had also disappeared and Reid and Rossi were trying to keep you calm and walk you through what you knew.
"Did you give them a time frame for when to come back?" Rossi asked and you shook your head.
"No, but I told them to go get something for him to read, it doesn't take long, it— they should have been back" You said and Reid gave you a cup of water to help you calm down.
"It'll be okay, we know he keeps them for up to three days, we'll find them Y/N" Rossi said, trying to comfort you.
"I thought it would be fine, it was only across the street and we're nowhere near his abduction comfort zone, I— I thought he'd be safe" You tried to say.
"I knew this was a bad idea, I should have stayed back, I could have helped you from Quantico, I—"
"Y/N it's not your fault. We'll find them and they'll be fine. JJ and Morgan are going through the security tapes now. If he took them from the street we'll find him" Reid said, putting a hand on your shoulder, something you knew was hard for him.
"I'm a terrible father" You murmured but Rossi heard you.
"You are not a terrible father. You did what you thought was best and as soon as you realized something was wrong you acted on your instincts. You did everything right" Rossi said but you shook your head.
"I brought my four year old to a city with a devolving sociopath kidnapping and murdering children" You replied.
"He has officer Parker with him, the unsub took both of them probably under the assumption that Parker was his mother" Rossi reminded you.
"Yeah, Danny has her until our unsub realizes she isn't his mom and he kills her because she doesn't fit into his delusion." You reminded him back but you didn't have any more time to argue or spiral into your fears because Morgan and JJ came back out of the library with a photo.
"We found him" Morgan announced and you ran over to him.
"Garcia's running his image through facial recognition but this is him, there was clear footage of him using a knife to Danny to force Parker to put down her radio and follow him." JJ said but she saw this wasn't calming your nerves.
"We'll find them Y/N" She said and you nodded, you had to believe her because the other option wasn't something you could even bring yourself to imagine.
Danny sat, huddled into himself in the corner of a dark room. He wanted to scream when he felt the strange man's hands around him in front of the library but his mouth was covered by the man's hand. Now all he could do was cry, hoping you'd come to save him.
"I want my daddy" He cried when officer Parker—whose name he found out was Jenny— woke up. The strange man had knocked her out with the back of the knife once he had her in the back of the car.
"I know, we'll get out of here and he'll find us. Don't worry Danny" She said and Danny nodded. He didn't have any other choice, his young brain couldn't comprehend the alternative.
Soon the door to the small room they were both locked in opened and a man came in. He was pushing 40, with a receding hairline and a salt and pepper beard.
"Hey there little guy, how are you feeling?" The man asked but Danny just cowered into the corner.
"Don't be scared, look what I brought you" He said, pulling out a teddy bear.
"Isn't it nice what daddy brought you?" He asked, crouching down to Danny's height to give him the toy.
"You're not my daddy" Danny said quietly and that seemed to upset the man.
"You shouldn't say things like that, that's very mean. You should say you're sorry" He said, slowly standing up to tower over the young boy.
"I, I— I want my daddy" Danny cried and the unsub gritted his teeth.
"Don't you dare touch him" Jenny said, pulling together all her courage.
"Oh, is mommy getting protective?" The unsub asked, stalking towards where Jenny was laying, hands tied behind her back.
"I'm not— Just don't touch him. You are in so much more trouble than you know asshole. His dad's an FBI agent and when he finds out you took his son—"
"I'm his dad! I am! And if you're not his mother you're not of any use to me" He said, taking a knife out of his pocket.
The last thing Jenny heard was Danny's screams.
An hour later Jenny's body was discovered at a public parking lot at 63rd avenue. Her throat had been slit.
By then Garcia had found a match for the unsub.
The man who took Danny was one Edward Pugh, a 43 year old now single white man. He worked as a part time security guard and was living out of his late mother's old house on 39th avenue in Wedgewood. It was close enough that he could easily drive between his home (which was most likely the secondary location), the abduction sits and the dumpsites. As soon as you had his address everyone was getting ready to head there. You included. You strapped yourself tightly into your bullet proof vest and made sure your gun was loaded.
"Are you sure you want to be there?" Rossi asked and you resolutely nodded.
"There is no way in hell I'm not the first person my son sees once he's out of this mess" You said.
"But Rossi, I want you to lead the negotiation. Everything about this guy tells us he's not going to just give Danny up so, I want you to be the one who talks him down" You said and Rossi nodded.
"Of course, I'll tell Hotch" He said.
When you arrived outside the house the local PD already had the place surrounded within minutes Morgan was kicking down the door and you were faced with the most horrifying sight you've seen on the job.
Edward Pugh held Danny in his grasp, a knife to his neck as he backed into a corner.
"Don't move!" He yelled.
"Don't move or I'll kill him! I'll do it! Don't make me!" He said and you could see the fear in Danny's eyes.
"Daddy" He called and you could see Edward's hold on him tighten.
"Shut up!" He yelled at the boy.
Rossi came up, his gun lowered even as everyone else kept Edward in shooting range.
"Edward, put the knife down" Rossi said slowly.
"No. No. You're going to take him away" Edward said and you had to bite your tongue to stop yourself from speaking. He was right, you were going to take your son back.
"You care about him, don't you? You don't wanna hurt him" Rossi continued and Edward nodded.
"He's my son" Edward said. "But I will hurt him if you don't leave us alone"
"Edward, we just want the boy to be safe. Put the knife down and we can talk—" "No!" He yelled and you could see blood start to drip down Danny's throat.
"You're hurting him Edward. Put the knife down." You said, repeating Rossi's words.
"We won't take him. We just don't want anyone to get hurt. Okay, put the knife down, he'll stay with you just, put the knife down Edward" Rossi said and slowly he did so, though he still had his arm wrapped around Danny's shoulders.
You took a big breath of relief, at least there wasn't a knife held to his throat anymore.
"Daddy, please help me" Danny said, his big eyes watering as he looked at you and you smiled at your son.
"It'll be okay sweetheart. Just do what he says, you'll be okay" You told him. Making sure not to acknowledge his words, knowing it would only enrage Edward.
"You're doing this because you wanna prove you're a good father right?" Rossi asked and Edward nodded.
Garcia had told you all that Edward's wife had divorced him a few years back and right before the killings began she got full custody of their son.
"The thing is Edward, you have to prove that with your own kid. You can't prove you're a good father by taking someone else's child. This won't prove to your wife that you can be a father and it definitely won't prove it to the court" Rossi explained.
"Let the child go Edward. Let him go back to his father" Morgan said. carefully lowering his gun as did the rest of you.
"You did good Edward. Cooperate and that just might change your wife's mind" Rossi said and slowly Edward's arms fell from around Danny's shoulders.
You quickly holstered your gun and dropped to your knees, arms wide open allowing Danny to run into your embrace.
"Daddy!" He cried, all the fear and pain coming out in sobs. You heard Morgan cuff Edward and the police take him away but your focus was entirely on your son.
You pet his head and back, kissing his cheeks and whispering comforting words until he slowly calmed down enough for you to take him to the medics.
He refused to let go of you, something you very well expected along with the sudden shyness and anxiety around anyone he didn't know. Surprisingly enough when Reid came to check on you both he ran into his arms and hid his head in the crook of his neck, just like he did with you. It seemed the time they spent together in the precinct firmly situated Reid as someone safe.
Once Danny was cleared by the medics you took him back to the precinct sitting with him, playing with some of the toys you kept in his baby bag.
"Y/N" Hotch said, coming into the room and getting both your and Danny's attention. Danny scooted closer to you but didn't do anything else as you stood up to meet your boss eye to eye.
Hotch tilted his head towards the door, he wanted to talk outside but as you were about to follow him out Danny grabbed your pant leg.
"No! Don't go!" He cried and you had to steel your face so you wouldn't begin to sob all over again.
"Don't worry buddy, I'll be right outside" You tried to explain but he wasn't having it.
"No! No! don't go!" He cried and you sighed taking him into your arms to try to calm him down.
"Is it urgent?" You asked but Hotch, somewhat surprisingly shook his head.
"We'll talk about it on the jet" He said and you smiled thankfully.
He understood. So did the rest of the team when you began taking more days off, sometimes because like before childcare plans fell through and sometimes simply because you needed time with your son. But either way they understood.
