Loki Collection Update 1/4
Tumblr media
I mentioned in my last collection update that I got a gift card to my local comic book store for Christmas. I finally had a chance to stop by today to pick some stuff up. I’m saving some of the gift card for this month’s Immortal Thor issue (and hopefully next month, too, if I don’t find something else to spend it on when I pick up the January issue in a few weeks).
Thor: First Thunder issue 1: I think I might have this one already, or at least the graphic novel of the entire run. But (as is the case for a couple other issues for this haul) I also had a coupon for $5-worth of specific issues, so it was worth it.
The Mighty Thor issue 700: Another coupon purchase, though I don’t think I already have this, and I think Loki is in more of this issue than the previous one.
Asgardians of the Galaxy issue 4: The theme with this haul is, if Loki’s on the cover or appears in the issue, it’s mine now. I have not read or purchased any of the other issues in this run.
Thor issue 3: Another issue I think I might already own, but coupon purchase. I think when I mentioned the piece of Thor and Loki kneeling to Hela, this is what I meant, though looking at it now, that’s not Loki I don’t think. I think it’s Baldur. Whatever, both Loki AND Thori are in this, so I’m thrilled.
Iron Fist issue 5: Again, I see Loki, I buy. I have another issue from this run, but I don’t know anything about Iron Fist. I just keep buying the issues with Loki on the cover.
Loki: The Liar graphic novel: Yes, I already have all the issues from this series (and multiple variant covers). But it’s the compilation, so I needed it.
Battleworld: Thors issue 1: Another coupon purchase. I think Loki’s in it, but my boi looks like shit and it’s one panel.
Loki: Agent of Asgard issue 5: Okay, listen. Loki looks good on this cover. And Verity is also on it, they look like they’re gonna commit a heist (which, like, they do, but not in a casino like this is implying). It’s possible I already have this one, too. God, I really need to update my inventory list.
Marvel Comics 2024 calendar: This was free, and I probably wouldn’t have taken it if I’d looked at all the months before I left. But I was looking at it while paying for my comics, and didn’t finish looking at it. Unfortunately no Loki comics on the main month pictures. But there are also some icons on holidays (like Cap on Memorial Day and Eddie Brock—in the suit so technically also Venom is there— with whatever his (their) son’s name is on Father’s Day). So there was also this:

God of Mischief on April Fools Day. Yep.
Sadly December 17 is blank (but you can bet I’m putting a Loki sticker on it ASAP).

My most controversial Venom take is that much like the Punisher he should of stayed a Spider-Man villain and never been spun off into a solo character.
Literally every adaptation of the character outside of the comics aside from two movies of questionable quality has him as a Spider-Man villain because that's the most iconic form of the character and it's when he's at his best.
And before anyone says shit Agent Venom is a different motherfucker, Agent Venom is a totally separate animal and nothing about that applies to this discussion.
Also villain Venom doesn't need to be Eddie, there's enough about Venom as an antagonistic force that works even if Eddie isn't there. The goo on it's own has enough reasons for hating Peter to be a good villain, Venom just works best when those reasons are combined with Eddie's more petty reasons for hating him.

I was bored and decided to start playing again the marvel mobile games I abandoned a while ago, just for fun. This is my current status in unlocking the characters I like in them:
Well, I never stopped playing Future Fight and Snap daily, because doing the daily missions on Future Fight is quick and an habit, while Snap is the only genuinely fun game in this bunch
I have Venom, Carnage and Knull in Snap, along with one variant for each. Unfortunately because it is the game I enjoy playing, I don’t always use them, as I do take how good a card is more seriously than how much I like the character. The deck that has all three is good enough, but I get bored of playing the same deck for too long. I current want a Venom icon though, or the Lethal Protector status, but these come with luck. Most characters seem to have a Venomized or Knullified variant, it will take forever to collect them all, for now I have just a couple of them
I have all four symbiotes in Future Fight (Venom, Agent Venom, Carnage, Toxin) and all of them are at least category two, with Venom being category three. I also have all the uniforms for them, working on maximizing all (Toxin has none, and both Carnage and Agent Venom are premium so it’s unlikely I will ever max theirs. I did all of Venom’s except for the zombie one, which I am working on, and I’m also not done with Scream’s Silence). I also have Spidey’s black suit, Gwenom, and Miles with the symbiote from Absolute Carnage, and Red Goblin as uniforms. Only missing Knull, but I have to finish all the other bosses to get him
I have almost all the symbiotes in Contest of Champions - Venom, Agent Venom, Anti-Venom, Symbiote Spider-Man, Howard the Duck-Venom, Carnage, Knull - just missing the elusive Venompool, Dr. Strange Venom and Red Goblin. There is also a npc-looking symbiote on the list, but I read somewhere that that one is a temporary character you only get to play during an event
Puzzle Quest keeps being the worst. I only have one symbiote: Mac!Venom. And only because it’s a basic card. It has Eddie!Venom, Anti-Venom, Agent Venom, Carnage, Dark Carnage, Knull, black suit Spider-Man, and the recently added Venomized Jeff, Gwenom and Venomsaurus Rex (this game is certainly the one with the most creative cast. I atribute it to not having 3D battles and so not needing to worry about models)
I recently found out that Strike Force has Scream (I believe it didn’t last time I checked) so I am thinking of getting it. Just for fun.
Yes I do play these (except for Snap) only to unlock these characters (the goal is all symbiotes and adjacents like Knull (hopefully Dylan/Codex may join the cast of one soon) and all inhumans, but that’s another story). I would certainly have more fun with a Pokemon Go but with symbiotes.

What perhaps resonates with fans is the fact that IG-88 is a free agent he’s beholden to no master or owner, unlike other droids, which represents something truly scary - a bounty hunter with no humanity.ħ. While only seen briefly in The Empire Strikes Back, IG-88 has remained popular with fans, appearing in comic books, video games, and cartoons. As seen in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, he’s also adept at hand-to-hand combat, standing his ground against an onslaught of Kage warriors.Ī towering, imposing figure, IG-88 is another of Vader’s preferred bounty hunters - and is the only droid on this list. One of the bounty hunters hired by Darth Vader to find the Millennium Falcon in The Empire Strikes Back, Dengar sports distinctive armor, has a unique headdress, and carries heavy weaponry. Dengar, The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: The Clone Wars In the resulting pursuit, she proves a strong match for Kenobi and Skywalker, leading them on a frantic high-speed chase throughout Coruscant, but ultimately could not outrun or outsmart the Jedi.ĩ. Hired by Jango Fett to assassinate Senator Padmé Amidala, Wesell was almost successful in her attempts on the senator’s life, first in a bombing of Amidala’s starship, and then with a deposit of two venomous arthropods into her sleeping quarters - an attack thwarted by Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. For this list, we looked at bounty hunters in the Star Wars films and on Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and ranked them according to several factors, including their job success rate, combat ability, and which are the most “fearless and inventive.” Note: No Expanded Universe characters or exploits were considered.Ī shape-shifting bounty hunter, Zam Wesell is doubly dangerous, and is also a good shot. Many have become icons in their own right - sometimes based solely on appearance, leaving it to the audience to imagine what they’re capable of. Bounty hunters have played a huge role in Star Wars, often doing the dirty work for the series’ major villains, whether it’s killing a senator or capturing a rogue smuggler. We don’t need their scum.” So said Admiral Piett in The Empire Strikes Back, though he couldn’t be more wrong. Today we’re looking at the top mercenaries of Star Wars. NGL, the art in Extreme Carnage is very rough at times (especially with the fact that the artists change between issues and that changes how characters look ((I.E Andi having a different hairstyle every book))).
But I definitely think Chris Mooneyham is doing the best out of all the artists involved.
Also, made some Flash Thompson icons from the Lasher issue.
