Got around to drawing my Spore creature that I’ve had since I was a kid, recreating it in my latest run!

Their patagium lets the glide short distances (usually between trees), and their large tail fin helps steer them in the air. The fin on their prehensile tail also has stronger membrane with grasping capabilities, acting as a hand.

Upon becoming a space-faring species, they rely heavily on alliances with other nations, usually in the form of spice collection jobs. They also specialize in purple spice in the trade.

Which I guess is good in a way to further confirm to doctors that #I Have Something Wrong With Me lol (most normal people should not be this heat sensitive I think) but is also still a little stinky #because I still payed a copay for the fulla appointment time but cit it short by leaving 15minues early.. grrr #ANYWAY. It seems like recently it's just hot all the time but it will ocasionally tempt you with a cool day of reprieve BUT don't let your #guard down! because as soon as you start to think 'hey things are getting better! :0' the sun will be like NO actualy. scalding temperature #be upon ye.. #Which of COURSE. I would rather have hot weather with little breaks in between than just constant hot weather. 100% definitely. #but it just always makes me sad because I get my hopes up lol.. JUST as I've recovered from the past heat and am So Ready To Start #On All My Things now That I'm Not As Sick And Hey Maybe It's Even Cool Enough To Do A Costume! .. my hopes are dashed #.. woe and so on and so forth. . #eoin is really good with people#we just don't really get to see him with others#never forget: eoin *chooses* paddy#of all the people he could be around and with it's paddy he picks#it's paddy who makes him happy#and no matter what else he gets up to in training or who he goes out drinking with at night in cairo#it's paddy he goes home to#i'm firmly against the 'eoin's character is loving paddy and that's all there is to him' take#but paddy is an important choice to eoin#one he makes again and again every day of his life#that doesn't change everything else that eoin is#it adds to it#it's so important to me that eoin could be doing his own thing quite happily but he chooses paddy#uaghahdfh emotionasls#look at this strong and gorgeous man and how wonderful and beautiful his choice is

and explain that when I say Eoin chooses Paddy, I don't mean that the feelings themselves are a choice, but the decision of how to act based on those feelings is a choice.

Eoin knows Paddy is a disaster. He can see that. The man is frustratingly hard work at times. He's by no means easy to learn to be with. Eoin doesn't have to put the effort in!

But he wants to.

He could, given the attitudes towards queer men at the time, distance himself from Paddy. He could keep things platonic at best, and keep himself safe. He could keep Paddy safe from that too. He could spend more time with literally anybody else.

But he chooses to spend time with Paddy.

He could tell Paddy he's on his fucking own, let him figure it out for himself, not put up with the bullshit. He could set harsher boundaries, keep himself safe from the fallout of Paddy's actions, and any threat of discrimination or punishment for homosexuality. He could decide that enough is enough when Paddy picks fights and ends up in jail, he could wave goodbye and let that be the end of expending his effort on a man who is difficult to be around.

But he doesn't let go.

Because Paddy is worth being around.

Eoin likes being around him. He wants to put the effort in.

He is aware of all Paddy's flaws. He knows the sort of man he is. Eoin is smart enough to understand what he's signing up for.

And he decides that Paddy's worth it.

Loving Paddy is rotten work sometimes. But Eoin chooses to do it. It's not blind devotion.

And I love that so much.

background: The healer heals people through taking their pain and enduring it themselves. When they meet the villain, they’re expecting everything to go perfectly. Little do they know, the villain is somewhat of a special case...

“Holy shit,” the healer bites out, falling forward and bracing their arms on the table in front of them. There’s a wide look in their eyes and their limbs shake. The villain can’t help but feel immensely guilty that they’re the one causing that pain. Selfishly speaking, though, they haven’t felt this good in years. “Oh my gods. How are you still standing?!”

The villain wants to respond, but they're too overwhelmed by the comfortable fuzziness feeling wrapping around them. Their fatigue is slowly beginning to drain. For the first time in a long time, their eyelids don’t sting with exhaustion. They're floating in the feeling for a few moments, when they realize that something’s off. Sure enough, when they chance a glance at the other person in the room, the healer is wavering on their feet. 

“Whoa, stop,” the villain hisses, getting up and shoving the healer to break them out of their trance. “That’s more than enough.” The healer blinks at them dazedly for a moment, before shaking their head in disbelief.

“Holy fuck,” the healer whispers, looking at them with wide eyes. The villain grits their teeth, dreading the upcoming conversation. “I’m surprised you’re still alive. That pain- I’ve never felt that before. I’ve been doing this for years.”

The villain doesn't know what to say to that, so they don’t say anything. The healer isn’t deterred by their silence, and instead stares at them for a moment longer before evidently coming to a decision. 

“I’m coming back tomorrow,” the healer asserts, turning on their heel and walking out the door before they can argue. The villain stares at the door and the subsequent empty space for a long time after that.

I have joined the society of bluetooth earphones

#refurbished for the record #i have been dragged kicking and screaming into the future #my phone doesn't have a headphone jack. my mp3 player does but it also has bluetooth capability. my ereader only has bluetooth for audio #so I figure since I'm going on the eclipse trip in a few months I should get some wireless buds for the train #went with some used skullcandy sesh because they were like twenty-two dollars had had a twenty hour battery life #I ALMOST went with some used Hesh headphones that looked really cool and had fifteen hours but were also forty-nine dollars #which combined with the other things I needed to buy would have put me thirteen dollars over my seventy-five dollar walmart giftcard #I was very tempted if just for the aesthetique~ but realized if I bought the cheaper earbuds I could have enough money for some instax film #and the cheaper earbuds and 2 pack of film plus the household objects I needed put me at a tidy seventy-four dollars and fifty-six cents #so I didn't have to spend any actual money on anything woot woot #the earbuds are blue. which is my favorite color. but they're like a pastel blue. which is like my least favorite shade of blue #ah well I'll sacrifice looks for function and affordability any day #*stares in slight dismay at hideously pink refurbished and thirty dollar instax mini 9* #what I REALLY wanted was some of those urbanista solar-powered headphones/earbuds #but even used/refurbished both were out of the total price range of the gift card(s) #I actually had two giftcards which together totaled seventy-five so that was pretty sweet
