Miles is roused from sleep by sunlight shining on his face. Slowly, his eyes adjust to the light, until finally, his scope of awareness broadens to a body he had been sleeping on.

Miles looks up to the figure that holds him, and upon seeing, his eyes widen in recognition.
Miles looks up to the figure that holds him, and upon seeing, his eyes widen in recognition.
The bottom panel of the page shows minimal details of a window shedding light onto the bed and blankets as seen from a higher view in the room.
Page 3
On the other side of the bed, Phoenix rests, his head propped by the headboard. His hair is messy from sleep, and his expression is thoughtful. The light of the morning highlights his features.
The sun shines through the blinds of the window.
Phoenix finally notices his observer, and turns to look at him.
Page 4
Phoenix takes Miles’ hand in his, and lifts it to gently kiss the ring on Miles’ finger. They both move to share a kiss, and their hands shift to hold one another. Miles’ ring sparkles in the sunlight.
Page 5
They link their fingers as they kiss, and the morning creates a quiet atmosphere around them.
They part, but remain close, their fingers fully interlocked. Phoenix greets “Good morning,” with a tender, loving expression as he looks at Miles. Miles’ own expression is soft, unguarded, and fixed on Phoenix.
Page 6
Phoenix and Miles settle back into their shared bed; the morning sun illuminates them. They both smile softly, seeming happy and at peace. Miles rests his head under Phoenix’s neck, and his hand on Phoenix’s chest. One of Phoenix’s hands rests over Miles’ own on his chest, while his other hand holds Miles closer, revealing a matching ring of his own. Both rings shine softly in the sunlight.
Bonus image
A small simple drawing of Phoenix and Miles having fallen asleep again while holding each other as in the final page of the comic.

STEM SISTER SCUFFLE: ROUND 1 MASHUP 4
Violet Baudelaire (A Series Of Unfortunate Events) vs Ema Skye (Ace Attorney)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Violet Baudelaire is an Inventor!
Ema Skye is a Forensic Scientist!
Why you should vote for each contestant:
Violet Baudelaire:
"She is only fourteen (later fifteen then sixteen as the story goes on) yet here she is straight up going around solving stuff with her (equally as smart) brother with inventions she makes. "Anyone who knew Violet well could tell she was thinking hard, because her long hair was tied up in a ribbon to keep it out of her eyes. Violet had a real knack for inventing and building strange devices, so her brain was often filled with images of pulleys, levers, and gears, and she never wanted to be distracted by something as trivial as her hair.” - Lemony Snicket, The Bad Beginning"
"She makes inventions to get herself and her siblings out of scrapes all the time, she's excellent and we love her"
"Excellent at engineering tools/inventions in crisis situations with whatever resources are lying around. (And she built a telegraph machine at age 7, to give you an idea of what she can do when she *does* have sufficient resources)"
"Violet is a very resourceful young lady with a fantastic mind for inventions out of anything and everything available. We see her building really intricate Rube Goldberg machines in the Baudelaire mansion pre-fire, and afterwards she uses her inventiveness to get the siblings out of all sorts of difficult situations, including breaking a baby out of a cage. She's very cool."
"She's fourteen years old but her ability in mechanical engineering saves her and her siblings from numerous terrible situations. She can work with limited materials to find ways to get out of any scenario and never gives up, even when the odds are against her."
"She’s like 14 years old and can design and make machines out of nothing in a very short amount of time (literally was hurtling towards certain death by falling off a cliff and managed to save herself and her brother)"
Ema Skye:
"I love her a lot and she's very important to me. We get to see her story from being a high school student who's really into science, to becoming a detective, to then finally passing her forensics exam and becoming a forensic scientist like she always wanted. I cosplayed her before"
"Ema has been interested in forensics ever since she was a kid. She's extremely passionate about it. She works very hard and despite bumps along the way she does manage to achieve her dreams/career goal and get into forensic science. She is amazing and I love her enthusiasm and I love her :D When she was like 16 she personally had her own spray bottle(s) of luminol testing fluid, what a dork (in the best way!). Forensic science is practically her whole life. What an inspiration. The first thing on her wiki page is the quote "Yes! Isn't it amazing? Ah, the power of science. It's my life." Bless."
"this girl is so silly. Her favorite thing is luminol. You have an ace attorney pfp you know her. She is my favorite ever. She calls Klavier Gavin a "glimmerous fop" (accurate description). She wears a lab coat over her school uniform. She brings snacks to crime scenes.i love her your honor"
"shes like every enthusiastic autism girl with a science special interest who then gors to college and gets a job and is tired and a mean lesbian but still is a freak about forensics. i love her"
"SHE WORKED SO HARD TO GO INTO FORENSICS. SHE HELPS EVERYONE DO FORENSICS. SHE THEN FAILS WHEN IT COUNTS AND BECOMES BITTER BUT GETS OUT OF THOSE FEELINGS LATER ON. I love her dearly she's so silly and fun when she needs to be, and I think her failure is fascinating but I'm SOOOOO GLAD she was able to become a forensic scientist in the end :)"
"Showed up and gave Apollo random forensics supplies at just the right time. Not sure if this was authorized. Does not Mayte though she can do anything she wants. C’mon man you know her you know why she’s the best you get me right"
"She's fun and good at science and has pink lenses in her glasses and I like her a lot"
"She is so excited to be using her fun little toys to solve crimes."
"She’s a gosh darn professional in a house of fops. Is passionate about her work and was inspired partially by a murder case she was involved in as a witness. She’s really cute and really quirky, and ya girl knows how to snack. She accessorizes really well. I cosplayed as her once and found myself more and more impressed with her style choices as I was putting it together. We stan a fashionable yet practical STEM queen."
"she is literally everythingggg to me. she has wanted to be a forensic scientist since she was 16 y/o and introduces forensic investigation mechanics to the series like luminol and dusting for fingerprints. when she does not get her dream job, she becomes depressed and bitter, only cheering up when she talks about forensic science. later on, when she attains the job, she is much happier! science is her entire life and her career and she is tremendously autistic about it. also she's such a girlboss i love her <3 ema must go through btw. she is the ultimate woman in stem"
"Ema Skye has been interested in forensics for many years due to case that occurred when she was younger. Even though she didn't pass the test to become one at first she had still continued trying till she made it. She always lights up at the mention of anything revolving sciene. She gets so happy when she's able to work with her forensic tools and investigate the crime scene <33"
"Teaches Phoenix wright about forensics"
"she wears a cool lab coat and I don't really know what else to put here but she's neat"
"she is so autistic about forensic science. she goes against the police rules to take fingerprints. she infodumps to anyone who will listen about forensic science. ema is so special to me and I love her very much"
"Ema is a girlboss! She started using forensics and scientific investigation to help solve murders when she was just 15 years old. she autistic and bisexual bc I say so :)"
"Literally the only character in universe that uses hard evidence in trials."
"The skyentific detective…."
"Its literally her personality ok. Just listen to her theme(s). I just love her"
"She is literally me <33 I love her. I need to see her grow up happy and healthy and i need to tell my friends and family about her."
"Wants to be a scientific investigator and solve crimes scientifically, forced to be a cop. Goes from teen with a weird hobby to reluctant cop to everything she ever wanted and I am so proud"
"She’s just a little weirdo. And she keeps trying to be a forensic scientist, but she has to finish high school first. She solved the murder her sister was accused of "
"Forensic science fascinates her. She sure is a woman jn stem. I am sorry I am very tired i dn what to write"
"I need to actually finish AA but it’s her. You probably have more submissions with better reasoning but I like her vibes from what I did play."
"She's got all sorts of cool gadgets which utilize the DS touchscreen"

When the Day Met the Night [Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney]
I don’t know that much about Ace Attorney but I gotta go for the Panic! At The Disco ref
[Send me in an Ask with one my WIP titles from this post, and I'll post a snippet of it and tell you a bit about it!]
Ah yes! My fake-relationship/co parenting/family drama au! One of my old favorite ideas for AA4, and one I'll probably return to when I get started replaying the game (just as soon as the FE brain rot abates a tiny bit)-
[CW for inaccurate sex ed information? A character believes that being on T acts a kind of contraceptive in this snippet, even though that is in no way true, though it is a common misconception]
[Also like, spoilers for Ace Attorney 4, for anyone that cares about that sort of thing.]
When he gets back to his shitty one bedroom apartment and vomits immediately into the toilet, he puts it down to the stress of the day- the worst court debut in history. When he wakes up the next day, dizzy, a little feverish, and with a sore chest, he decides he caught something and is half way to calling into work when he remembers that his boss is currently being indicted for murder, so he just goes back to bed.             A week later, his period fails to start, which is weird because he’s always been stupidly regular. A fear takes root in the back of his mind, an irrational thought he refuses to give credence. A few days pass, still he dosen’t bleed.             He gets the tiny plastic stick from the drug store, telling himself it’s just for peace of mind. He’s been on testosterone shots since he got his job, the insurance he had gotten through Gavin and Co Law Offices leaving him with a only slightly outrageous co-pay to worry about, and even then he and Kristoph use condoms. Even if they hadn’t, everyone knows that T drastically diminishes the possibility of conception. The chances of a condom tearing even once and that once just happening to beat the odds to knock him up are astronomically low. Apollo’s unlucky, but no one is that unlucky.             He watches the ceiling, making himself wait for the timer on his phone to go off. When it does, he takes a deep breath, picks up the pregnancy test and sees the tiny pink plus sign that indicates that he is in fact, that unlucky.
Basically the premise is 'Klavier x Apollo fake relationship/co parenting AU'. Apollo had been in a relationship with Kristoph Gavin prior to the events of the game and discovers he is pregnant right after the first case. Knowing what a spectacularly bad idea it would be to tell Kristoph (and that Kristoph couldn't help anyways since he's you know, in jail awaiting a murder charges) Apollo decides to go it alone, and this influences his decision to join Wright and Co Law Offices despite being pissed at Phoenix for the events of 4-1.
Game unfolds as normal, with Apollo meeting Klavier Gavin, who shows a surprising amount of care and respect to Apollo after it comes out that he's pregnant (never acting like it's weird or treating him poorly even as the Judge and other law folks patronize him), but when the baby is eventually born it is impossible not to see the resemblance to Kristoph, and Klavier offers to help Apollo in whatever way he can, both because he likes Apollo and because he wants to take care of his nephew.
Apollo worried about his son (who is named Orestes, Ori for short, because I can't resist a good mythological reference) having to deal with the stigma of being a murderer's son, accepts Klavier's offer, and the two pass off Ori as Klavier's child, rather then his nephew. In order to shield him from the media attention bound to come with having a rock star's out-of-wed-lock baby, Klaiver insists Apollo and Ori move into his penthouse.
Apollo is determined that this arrangement, which he is only participating for Ori's sake (he 100% does not like Klavier Gavin That Way Thank You Very Much and also he does not enjoy the sight of Klavier shirtless just Out of the Shower, he swears), remain strictly platonic (which Klaiver is 100% cool with and not all bummed about he swears, it would be weird to want to date his brother's ex-protege/lover), but of course, the two have to put on a convincing charade lest the truth come out thanks to nosy journalists like Lotta, and play at being the domestic new family.
Romcom/domestic shenanigans ensue, eventually followed by more murder and family drama and Klavier having to wrestle with his feeling of inadequacy compared to Kristoph, and Apollo having to wrestle with his sense of Not Belonging since he was a foster kid from a foreign country and-
Well you get the idea.

20 Questions for Writers
Thank you for the tag, @mrsmungus and @oceangirl24! Sorry I'm late on this!
❣️How many works do you have on AO3?
109, as of today! A whole lot of very varied fics with multiple genres, tropes, and fandoms and ships! I've been working on a lot of OC stuff as of late, and that's become a decent chunk of my fics. Well, if you consider 1/20th a decent chunk XD
❣️What is your total AO3 word count?
I swear I did not plan on this happening, I didn't stall for time just to reach this number, but my exact word count is 420,000!
❣️What fandoms do you write for?
Ah, fuck, there's a lot! Off the top of my head (because I'm too lazy to check Ao3), I'm trying to do more DC, Jujutsu Kaisen, One Piece, Demon Slayer, Chainsaw Man, Attack on Titan, Marvel, and OC stuff!
❣️What are your top five fics by kudos?
Skull Signs - 553 kudos
Just Accept It - 525 kudos
Penguin Promise - 413 kudos
What Hurt Brings - 378 kudos
Putting Down The Book - 353 kudos
❣️Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try my best to respond to comments, but sometimes I let them slip and fall under an avalanche that I'm too tired to dig myself out of.
❣️What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Probably Last Words, cuz it straight up is just bad ending through and through. Even the happy moment is sad.
❣️What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
A Wooden Castellan, maybe? Just some good ole birthday fluff!
❣️Do you get hate on your fic?
Hate on my fics? No. Hate because of my fics? Yes. We all met Evil Anon way too many times.
❣️Do you write smut?
Eh, a bit. It's not really my forte, and tbh there are times where I feel pretty left out because I see so many people writing smut and having fun with it and I'm just like "...I can't do that. I don't really write smut."
Gah, sorry for whining
❣️Do you write crossovers?
I think I have two crossovers?
A Detroit: Become Human x Wenclair fic I did by myself and a Ace Attorney x SCP that I'm writing with my best friend, @axolotlsupremacyowo!
❣️Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge, and I honestly don't see why anyone would want to.
❣️Have you ever had a fic translated?
No, but @mrsmungus did do a podfic for me, which I absolutely love! (She also sends me voice messages where she sings really nice songs amazingly, even if she doesn't think so!)
❣️Have you ever co-written a fic?
Yes!
As I mentioned above, I co-wrote a fic with @axolotlsupremacyowo, but that's one of three! We did a thing last week where we started fics by ourselves, then swapped them with the other person to finish them! It was so much fun and I can't wait to do it again!
❣️What's your all-time favorite ship?
To be perfectly honest....I have zero clue. I have a lot of ships that I love, and I would struggle to pick out a favorite!
❣️What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Ah, I wanted to finish an old MHA fic from...January of last year, I think, but I doubt I'll ever return to it at this rate. It's just not on my to-do list.
❣️What are your writing strengths?
Oh great, here we go! Ugh. Well, I'd say dialogue and characterization is something I'm pretty great at.
❣️What are your writing weaknesses?
Low confidence, honestly. I don't write well because I don't think I will write well. It's a problem.
❣️Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I do my best to avoid it, because I really don't know any words in any other language! If I find myself needing to do it: I write it like this.
"Random phrase!" [Character] said in [Language].
❣️First fandom you wrote for?
My Hero Academia.
❣️Favorite fic you've ever written?
Not choosing. You can't make me.

Do you like ciphers? I love a good hidden message and mysterious paintings, i really like how you set it up in deciphering, it's partially what drew me in to the comic, aside from your gorg art and funny&heartwrenching dialogue so. I was wondering if you liked mystery stories in general, what would be your favorite ones? Owo
Are you that mysterious person from DeviantArt who tried to decipher the canvas and Morse code sketches? If not, hi anyway! If yes, hello, dear!
The name of a last code type you asked about was really hard to track down because of some translation issue. I thought it was a cipher of the Knights of the Rose Croix, but Google was so confused it couldn't give me anything besides this next to the actual Rose Croix cipher, apparently.
And now I'm confused too, so let's make it easier and I'll show you the decoder. What is SPRC cipher Google doesn't know either.
Tumblr media
And yes, I like ciphers, but before writing Deciphering I couldn't thought where I can use them. Now I know I can implement them into drawings x)
It's a little bit funny how I found out about ciphers outside of adventure and mystery movies. It may not look like this now, but in 2012-2014 I was pretty devoted fan of My Little Pony G4. I was 20 and went to Czech Republic to attend the pony convention Czequestria 2014. There was a quest, we split into teams and a part of it was to decipher little texts. It looked some gibberish and I couldn't thought what to do with it, until my teammate, a local guy Vojtech, took the paper sheet - and god damn recognised every type of coding was used. He was mumbling under his nose: "Ah, it's Caesar's one. Alright, rotate 4?.. No, it's rotate the alphabet 3 times". I was mesmerized. And you know what? We were the only team who finished this part and got the first place winning the quest - and all thanks to Vojtech! :)
Only a year after I've watched Gravity Falls - and still haven't figured that out how and where could I use ciphers.
And oh hell yeah, I love detective and mystery stories! As much as I love good romance stories, mysteries are my favourite genre. Isn't that the first reason a lot of us played Ace Attorney? It was mine for sure, besides being bored and wanting to play something silly. I didn't know ANYTHING about gay lawyers until I've launched the game last year.
What are my favourites, uf, that's a tough question.
I absolutely loved Endeavour TV series, watched 3 seasons in a row, and I should return to it. The main character is also so sweet, his large translucent blue eyes inspired me to paint Pheenie's eyes that way.
I also love The Silence of the lambs movie.
In terms of books I really love Alan Bradley's series about Flavia de Luce, the first part is called The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie. Flavia is a 12 years old genius chemist and the youngest daughter living in a manor with her father, two older sisters and several servants - and around her always happen murders. I like Flavia so much, I called my cat after her. She is so charming, funny and quick-witted, cynical and in love with chemistry, interested in poisons, graveyards, decomposition and, well, solving mysteries. It's really funny moments when adults are trying to hide her from corpses, but she leans in to investigate no matter what. She reminds me of Wednesday Addams, but still in a very fresh and entertaining way. I love a combination of sweet and jesus-fking-christ in one story, but it's mostly really sweet and wholesome. And, gosh, it's written so beautifully!
I also can recommend Daniel Pennac's La Saga Malaussene, first part is The Scapegoat. It might be not my favourite, but it is unforgettable experience for sure. The main character is an older brother of 10+ little siblings and the only adult, every one of his little ones are just a tiny bit magical, which makes the story a bit with magical realism. It also contains a combination of sweet and brutal, like Flavia, but here the contrast is even stronger. And the brutal murders, ouf, make the wholesomeness shine even brighter.
Woah, I feel like I should stop for now. Such topics make me really talkative, and I should go back to work. We can continue later, my inbox anywhere is open ;)

Yet Another Analysis of Kristoph’s Black Psyche-locks
Ah yes, my favorite discussion point in the Ace Attorney fanbase: those infuriating little locks that seal away story progression in sometimes annoyingly obscure ways. However, I don’t see the regular ones discussed to nearly the same degree as the black ones. This is understandable, as those have only ever been seen twice in the entire series, and so feel quite mysterious, especially when discussing one character in particular:
Tumblr media
Kristoph Gavin. Notable for his black Psyche-locks having never been broken, along with his seemingly absurd reasons for murder.
I have seen a number of fans directly compare his Psyche-locks to those belonging to Athena Cykes, and therefore Kristoph’s are seen by a good part of the fanbase as the result of some unknown trauma in addition to his paranoid  tendencies. While this could certainly and reasonably be the case (Capcom why did you skip out on backstory in Apollo Justice I will never understand), I want to also remind everyone that the definition of what a black Psyche-lock represents is as follows (according to the Ace Attorney wiki):
“Black Psyche-Locks represent a secret that an individual keeps subconsciously, without even being aware of it. Forceful attempts to remove them by presenting evidence can cause permanent emotional and spiritual damage.”
Therefore, there is some more room to work with “what causes the formation of black Psyche-locks” than only trauma. As I read it, this definition means that whatever the cause, it is so great that it would make an indelible mark on the character’s very soul, or existence.
...so what does this mean for our dear bastard of a defense attorney?
I have two theories. First, that it is nothing more than the manifestation of his extreme paranoid tendencies, and need to keep himself within the status of “defense attorney”. As he shows throughout Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice, he has extremely self-centered views about himself, the law, and the courts, valuing little else (even his own brother and mentee) other than his prestige within the system. Yes, his mantra may be “Evidence is Everything”, but he is not above manipulating the rules to his  advantage, finding loopholes, and seeking exploits that he can get away with, much like a stubborn child. The Psyche-locks are then solely a representation of that way of thinking - that unconscious need to be seen favorably, as a kind, helpful mentor and attorney. This is also why the quickest way to anger him is to shake the court’s trust in him or his methods.
My second theory is more of a stretch than the first, but it has the potential to depict Kristoph in an even more sinister light. Note that his black Psyche-locks only appear upon him being questioned as to why he killed Zak Gramarye. This can be taken to more of an extreme than him only desperately clinging to his identity as a defense attorney. He is shown to be particularly ruthless, and is excellent at covering up his own crimes (ironic, considering how much he harps on the truth so much) when he is the one in control. Perhaps it is a bit of a stretch to say this (again, Capcom, WHY CAN’T YOU GIVE US MORE JUICY BACKSTORY), but wouldn’t these traits fit that of the average serial killer? It’s not quite as substantiated as my first theory, though he does have more than one potential victim throughout the course of the game (if one goes by the bad ending in Turnabout Succession). I do think it should possibly considered that Zak Gramarye was NOT his first victim in his life, though, as under this theory I take the black Psyche-locks to mean that he’s so far gone he doesn’t remember or need a reason to kill. Their presence has the potential to mean that he is so warped as an individual that killing is as natural to him as his occupation as a defense attorney. Unfortunately, this theory does have several holes in it, as there is little evidence in-game that other than his two (attempted) victims, he has attempted or succeeded in murdering anyone else. In other words... this is more fanon than anything else.
Regardless of either interpretation, he’s still an asshole. But I think his character is fascinating in that so little is given in the way of his motivations: it’s just enough for the player to take a peek into his mindset, but not nearly clear enough to make a definite conclusion as to how EXACTLY he operates.

hi it's almost 2 am and I'm thinking of youtubers I liked when I was younger so I'm gonna yell about random encounters video game musicals now nobody asked but I don't care this is my house ah shit it devolved into ace attorney again please help those gay lawyers got me in a GRIP I CANNOT ESCAPE THEM
do y'all know random encounters. those video game theater people. those people were so so so close to making me a theater kid.
phoenix wright the musical fnaf the musical hell yes I even liked their 60 seconds musical despite the fact that i personally hate 60 seconds (it made me really paranoid of nuclear war I couldn't even hear a plane without crying after that when I was younger oops that's more of me being an idiot than the games fault though so I'm not blaming them)
they're awesome even if I don't like a lot of their musicals as much anymore I admire their dedication to making so many good props and going odcostumes and scripts for these games even if they're not like big production this is really impressive for like a group of. idk not a lot of people but they have guests on a lot so
and also a lot of their songs still slap I mean like. stranger things have happened my own little nightmare wright is wrong don't play this game fran bow paperboy they all sound good to this day hell out of all of these songs I only know one game ace attorney (well at the time I first heard them I didn't. but now I do) but I still knew what was happening in them kind of
I still have the lyrics to a lot of these stuck in my head after years especially that part in phoenix wright the musical where edgeworth just starts making a cool rhyme dissing phoenix even harder than he already was:
"forgive my lack of tact but wright knows little more than jack cause he's a wacky crackpot quack exactly that a backward hack in fact in spite of been said in light of Wrights quite empty head Mr Wright is wrong!" will live in my head forever. it has for like 4-5 years anyway it's gonna keep going strong
and also "mr wright please do desist! disrupting court! we get the gist! no need to constantly insist OBJECTION!!!!" has also been in my head for so long. you can probably tell what my favorite musical of theirs was/is now lmao after getting into ace attorney it's only getting stronger tbh
and for some reason I never cared about don't play this game when I heard this when I was younger???? whoever voices franziska in that song has an amazing voice oh my god I love this song so much it's great
I'm going to get my ace attorney friend to watch this now he needs to see it she knows it exists but they didn't see it yet. idk how but I've gotten them to watch 2 object shows I can do it /lh
I kinda hope they do a apollo justice one I think they said they were thinking about it but idk if they will. it's alright if they don't I love the phoenix wright one we have anyway
anyways bye I'm going to sleep soon hopefully I've been awake since 7:30 am

Hello!! Hi!!! Just gonna uh. Pop in and ask if you’ve got any dgs thoughts. Maybe susato in particular because my brain is incapable of not thinking about how capcom did her a wee bit dirty etc etc but that’s most likely me being snippy 💀
Hopefully this doesn’t seem weird out of the blue and all but I’d love to hear your thoughts!!!
OK I HAVE THOUGHTS ON BOTH HOLD ON. BUT ITS GONNA BE TOO LONG TO TALK ABOUT BOTH SO I JUST GOT RID OF MY GENERAL DGS THOUGHTS
Now you asked for my thoughts on Susato:
Susato is probably one of my favorite characters in the whole game. She’s so unique to most assistants (most games try to have the quirky upbeat assistant which often gets the “Maya clone” label, and even if I think that’s dumb and not the characters fault but the writing team and Capcoms fault for its mysoginistic writing choices, and also ‘Maya clone” is a dumb thing cause they are different), but she’s far more mature (we will get into that one..) but still has her various quirks, her very fun moments and she’s really fucking cool.
She’s great! She has so many cool little hobbies, such as martial arts and how she loves the Sherlock Holmes stories and is a little fan girl, how she genuinely has a big interest in law, and is really smart and just such a pleasant character with all her fun details. How she dresses up as a boy to save a friend and how loyal she is. How she has done stuff like tamper with a crime scene and evidence despite being so well versed in law. Augh. Her interactions with others are so fun; she should throw more ppl it’s funny.
Okay now that I’ve gushed about her. I feel like she is done dirty in the game. In terms of things that she goes through vs how much time she gets to spend on it vs other characters? Like her father left for england when she was born and had to shuffle back into her life 6 years later, her brother died and her literal idol FAKED HIS DEATH?? And she grieved him and he wasn’t dead her blorbo from the books just lost his still alive injured body in Hong Kong. Her father fakes an illness making her spend a month an a half on a boat for him not to be sick. That same brother was gonna take her to England on his assassination mission. What was she gonna do when he killed a man?? Idk!! She goes through it!!
And yet. And yet it’s like. Ah yes Susato our forgiving queen who doesn’t have any harsh angry feeling to anyone. Wow! So kind! Like I feel like she deserves to be angrier and meaner cause she gets a lot of things done to her that the male characters get to have moments about? Fucking absent parents is an ace attorney staple and it’s just kinda like. Well let’s brush it off now and let her kinda hang out while we talk to someone else! And I think there’s just some issues with the writing in general I did see a post that I will never find again. That made a good point how some of the later reveals would have been better if it were not Ryunouske who was the one to be confronting ppl or finding/revealing certain bits of info but do to Main Characterisms. And it might have hit harder if it were Susato or even Asogi due to familial ties in the story. I wish I could find the post they lay it out better
And I’m not gonna pretend this is Just a Susato problem cause alot of female characters tend to get the short end of the stick in ace attorney games. Think of the trilogy! Maya and Edgeworth go through very similar traumas and yet the writing let’s Edgeworth go through it while Maya doesn’t get the same treatment. She’s the assistant she doesn’t have time to grieve her absent now dead mom. She’s making quips and eating burgerramen!! Same happens with Susato.
But overall I Love Susato. I have a few post canon AUs where she finally gets to have her issues be front and center. They aren’t fleshed out they are just a few drawings ideas I have that work and my dumb wrist issues have been preventing. I complain a lot but I do love her DEARLY… best assistant. Best Dgs character. Underrated by everyone
And if you have other thoughts please tell me id love to hear them. These are just my thoughts but if you have some thoughts I didn’t notice. Please go ahead!! Thank you for asking :D

STEM SISTER SCUFFLE: ROUND 2 MASHUP 2
Honey Lemon (Big Hero 6) vs Ema Skye (Ace Attorney)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Honey Lemon is a Chemist!
Ema Skye is a Forensic Scientist!
Why you should vote for each contestant:
Honey Lemon:
"She applies her science into being a kickass superhero"
"She's so nice and enthusiastic about science. She's funny :)"
"She loves chemistry and wants to make the world a better place through it! She’s always optimistic and upbeat no matter what!!! Cute girlies in STEM!!!!!"
"her excitement for science is so palpable it’s my favorite part of the movie. she’s ECSTATIC about the elements and making chemical reactions just to see what happens!! not to mention she’s smart as FUCK! she created chemical formulas on the fly as she fights bad guys. CHEMISTRY is her superpower. she’s cute hehe"
"Her name is Honey Lemon. That's the cutest name I've ever heard. She's also described as having an innate talent in Chemistry, as well as a groundbreaking chemist. In her hero gear she has a Chem-Purse, which has a typepad of the periodic table which she can press on to make into a dense ball of any element she wishes, and during active battle she can calculate and input chemical formulas at incredible speeds without even having to look at it. Girlboss behaviour!! She also made a 400 pound ball of tungsten carbide turn into DUST before she became a hero when she was only a university student. She's not even a girlboss anymore she's a girlCEO. I had the BIGGEST crush on her when I was young. My Bi awakening. I love her so much you don't even know 💛"
