Getting to the point where ill see pen drawings or anything black and white or with solid black shapes and go PRINT!

#but really there are lots of prints and people dont seem to notice them much #it bugs me that prints are usually displayed alongside like. unfinished sketches or photographs in museums #when id consider them akin with paintings #so when i went to the mfa in boston i didnt see any of their prints because they were all in some tucked away gallery with the photographs #while i was busy getting lost in the maze of the boring american section #like prints should be displayed alongside the paintings in the like. european or american art or asian art sections #rather than tucked away #putting them with photographs perpetuates the idea that a print is just a copy of an original art piece so its just smth cheap #like a digital art print or a print of a painting youd by in the gift shop #rather than original art pieces in their own right. #and i know photographs are valuable art too by yknow like. a photo would be taken and then developed or printed digitally #so it isnt like directly hand of the artist stuff ? at least from a laymans perspective #ah yes the classic 'makes post and then goes on a barely related rant in the tags' trick
