i was going to answer amir for this question but i figured i would give rainer some love instead.

1. rainer is a really dry texter. his love languages are quality time and acts of service. he’s not that great at giving and receiving words of affirmation but he is trying to get better at it.

 2. rainer loves the outdoors. he is a bit of a lone wolf and enjoys the beauty, peace and quiet of being surrounded by nature without distraction. he feels calm, it helps him think/reflect clearly, and he finds it a humbling experience. he also likes having to work with his hands, a welcome change from his desk job.

3. he keeps his apartment really neat and tidy, it freaks people out.

4. another hobby of his is photography. he sometimes brings his expensive equipment along on his outdoor adventures. 

5. he has a calming presence and a problem-solver mindset that tends to put people at ease. he is not easily rattled by stress or pressure.

"Botany? Ah, yes! I know much about this!" Leonidas posed proudly before N'arfi, his grin bright enough it nearly sparkled. "My mother- she was quite fond of gardening, I'll have you know! I must have picked up a thing or two from her. Allow me, the glorious, powerful, and splendid Idris Amir Leonidas Al-Sayyid, to show you how it's done!"

Leonidas picked up a tin watering pail, eyeing it curiously. "Hmm... this reminds me of a story I once heard," he began, tipping the pail over a patch of freshly buried rose seedlings. If N'arfi had suggested a different, easier to care for flower, Leonidas must not have heard him. "a queen of some distant land loved flowers of all kinds, but had a particular affection for the rose. In fact, she loved these flowers so dearly that her betrothed grew jealous of her garden, and burned it to the-- oh, goddammnit!!"

Leonidas, ever clumsy, accidentally dumped the entire watering tin over the small batch of seeds, surely drowning them before they ever had a chance to grow. He stared, unblinking.

"I, um. Ahem. I, of course, meant to do that! Yes! More water is surely best for these flowers to become tall and healthy, aha...!!!"

8. favourite/least favourite change from the books?

Favourite: although I might not agree with every choice made in this regard (*ahem* see this 2000-word essay I wrote), I do appreciate the show’s decision to mine the emotional potential of HDM’s relationships in much greater depth than the books (particularly Lyra and Marisa, so far). In the trilogy, Marisa and Lyra never actually recognise each other as mother and daughter to each other, only in their heads and to other people, which felt like a missed opportunity, even as I was reading. I’m very happy to dig into those relationships more, even if it’s heartwrenching most of the time! Also softening Will, because book!Will tempered Lyra’s fire, I think, and Amir’s Will complements her better. 

Least favourite: any decision that I just can’t fathom the rationale behind nags at me (or when the rationale annoys me, lol). Changing the witch torture scene so that it’s Ruta rather than Serafina - why? Telling Asriel and Marisa’s story in a gentler way - why? Not mentioning that John Parry was dying of ‘other-world-disease’ - why? Having Lee be a pickpocket, when he is explicitly against stealing in the books - why? There are plenty of changes I understand, even if I prefer the book version - merging Billy and Tony Makarios’ characters, coming up with an explanation for Mrs Coulter’s ability to control the spectres, even the reduced presence of dæmons for budgetary reasons - but when it seems completely gratuitous? WHY. 

9. favourite casting choice?

Alice, why even bother asking this, lol. Ruth as Marisa, every day of the week. You can’t look away from her when she’s onscreen; she’s magnetic. Brilliant casting. 

10. which character do you think was portrayed best?

Mary, 100%. Completely true to the books, all the added scenes and details enhance what the trilogy tells us about her, and Simone is perfect. Honourable mentions go to Ariyon Bakare’s suave and slithery Boreal, and that little golden bastard. The CGI is phenomenal and I love that he’s both feral and completely desperate for love and affection in equal measure. 

11. favourite dæmon?

Stelmaria! She’s so elegant and beautiful and commanding, a perfect complement to Asriel. This is a book reference, but that moment when Lyra is telling an obvious lie and Asriel is trying to stay stone-faced but Stelmaria laughs? So sweet, I love it.

FIERROCHASE HEADCANNONS!!!

Magnus!!! Gets a piercing!!! He wears these HUGE black studs and Alex melts . The first time Alex saw him, s/he literally gasped out loud. Magnus turned from his chat with Mallory and saw Alex's expression (which he just chalked up to a rough wound). "Hey, Alex! Heal okay?" And Alex just. Flops on top of him. And ~ahem~ get intimate and then Magnus gets all smug and coy and "So you liked it, huh," and Alex is still too enamored, as s/he pulled him into his/her room to manage more than a raspy "shut up". Magnus, however, was all too happy to oblige.

At Sam and Amir's wedding, these two literally do not stop /bawling/. Like, not even a polite sniffle or a teary sob, like full-on, my-dog-just-died type crying. Amir found it sweet and quite funny, Samirah found it annoying (or so she said; everyone knew she loved them too much to be annoyed with them). The cry through the ceremony, all the way into the after party, and even after that. The next day, when they see the newly wedded couple, they act so /soft / towards them, and " Sam? At my wedding, you'll cry too, right?" "I will, magnus. Really."

Alex actually turned out to be a great teacher? At the home, sometimes s/he will teach the little kids that come in, and s/he's incredible at it? S/he's so patient with the kids, and explains it to eloquently, they can't help but understand everything s/he says. Magnus is absolutely smitten, and takes to watching in private when one of his/her tutoring sessions is in swing, smiling and making lovey-eyes, and Alex sees him out the corner of his/her eyes and s/he'll turn and smile at him and Magnus will come over to help with the demonstrations and their hands will knock they and they'll be happy and peaceful and they'll realise that-- hey. I'm in love.

Magnus grows out his hair (we all know it's gonna happen). He and Alex are having a picnic somewhere in the Hotel. Magnus falls asleep in Alex's lap. Alex decides to braid his hair. S/he falls asleep soon after. By the time they both wake up, it's well after dinner, and after reaching his room and seeing his reflection, he just. Grins. And smiles. And knocks on Alex's door and Alex opens it with a disgruntled face and adorable pyjamas and floofy hair and runs a hand over his/her face("Magnus what do you want it's half past midnight") and Magnus hugs him/her and kisses her over and over again and flourishes his new 'do when Alex expresses his/her apparent confusion and Alex smiles softly and hides it in Magnus's shoulder and they both go back into his/her room and they fall asleep curled in on one another and they wake up in the morning and Magnus screams because Alex's eyeliner (s/he absolutely wears eyeliner you cannot change my mind) is all over his/her face and Alex just shoves a pillow over him and he falls off the bed and they both laugh and then Magnus realises his braid's come undone and he looks so dejected that Alex does it for him again and he shows it off to everyone and then Alex watches tutorials on how to make more complex, pretty ones and then it's a regular thing and sometimes, if they're outside again, Alex'll braid flowers into Magnus's hair (think: Rapunzel when she went into town) and Magnus just loves it so much and then he'll show it off to everyone he crosses paths with and they pretend to fins it annoying but really he's so cute they can't help but humor him when he asks them to take endless photos of him and Hel, Alex has a whole album of photos of just Magnus (bonus if it's a literal book album and the cover is Magnus with a flower crown) and s/he keeps adding new ones and thinks Magnus doesn't know but he totally does and he likes to let her/him take photos of him all the time and he just loves him/her so much and everyone else just watches fondly as these two fall more and more in love and-- and - AHHHHHHHH THEY CUTE. END OF STORY.

Death had stopped by a few times, if the coffee-with-notes on Amir's desk had anything to say, but finally this time there was an Amir at the desk when Death stopped by. A knock was given to the door, before Death opened up, poking his head inside. "I do hope I caught you in your down time. Do you have a moment, Amir? Or, ah, Captain Rashid??"

He did not catch him in his down time. Not at all. AR was hesitantly thankful for the new additions to the force alleviating much of the burden of paperwork, but it seemed that the influx in law had sparked an influx of crime, and the police chief was fruitlessly trying to get a handle on all things happening in the city at once. As such, interruptions were not welcome. He almost met the intruder's knocking with a sharp 'not now', but the gentle song of the reaper's voice caused a conundrum of emotions and conflicting priorities. Conflict of interest, his coding screamed, but he shakily put down his pen. This one, this person, might be more important to him than work. "Hey...-ahem-" he clears his throat, bizarrely casual greeting feeling foreign on his tongue. "Hello. Mister Pendleton. What can I do for you?" Now it's too formal, never using Elliott's father's name, but all the same he greets him with a softer smile. He IS glad to see him.

"Oh dear. If I go back to calling you Amir, will you go back to calling me Elliott?" Death beamed as he stepped into the office, letting the door close lightly behind him before moving to stand in front of the desk. There was a folder in hand, holding a resume and cover letter attached. He'd be far more nervous about this but given his life long interaction with the officer... Amir was about as intimidating as a teddy bear. "I know I mentioned looking for that internship with the coroner, and I finished putting together my resume. I... wasn't sure who to turn this into exactly? I assumed you would be the best bet though. I... do hope this doesn't add too much to your overflowing plate." Death glanced over the mess on the desk briefly before looking back to Amir. An apologetic smile took his face. Sorryyyyy.

Stern and formal was a natural state, but Elliott's slow chipping introduced him to something he was very unfamiliar with, fucking relaxing. Very intimidating. You see the eyebrows on that teddybear? Downright menacing. "I...yes," he recalls the conversation, happy with the implications. "Yes of course. I have been handling the hiring lately. I suppose." He mumbles, a bit resentful, as he snaps a stack of papers into order. "Sit down."

Death took a seat as ordered, beaming. "I'm excited over the possibility of working with you. I do hope I present myself well. I know mortuary science and forensic science only barely cross paths, but thankfully my teachings under my late mentor allowed me to dabble some." He passed over the folder for Amir to look over before continuing the half-lie. "While my knowledge of toxins is lacking, and I'm sure this internship can help where Mister Gene left off." Too bad he couldn't put, 'literally the grim reaper' on his resume... Death felt that would assist a lot in the hiring process.

The captain takes the resume, curious but not terribly concerned with the quality of  its content.  He looks over the cover letter, a brief and modest description of the man before him. It lacks confidence in the field but assures passion...much like Elliott just said to you out loud. Redundant. "You know far more than I do I am sure. Any assistance is appreciated. I am also happy to provide a job for a dear friend." He smiles while flipping the paper to skim it, more if a show than anything. He doesn't care. He's hiring him. He hired a random kid at an impromptu vigilante meeting. The White shells we bankrolling this budget and he was perfectly fine with abusing the salary budget. Same question everyone else at the funeral parlor got. "Why do you want to work in law enforcement?"

AR experiences a cacophony of very unprofessional emotions. At first guilt for the mention of Elliott's tragic history, but as he continues Amir softens with adoration. Shit this crush is real. And hearing him talk about the law and protecting this city? Mmf. Pure boner material honestly. He's a simple man. "Then you're hired." He smiles, soft and gentle. He's in love damn it. "You have convinced me."

The Wilder universe doesn’t have the same calendar as us (instead of individual months, it is divided simply by the four seasons) so I can only give the equivalent of our zodiac signs.

Royo = Early Summer (Cancer)

I like all types of flowers to be honest!! But I really like sunflowers and lilies!

I love the stars! They’re super pretty in my opinion. I prefer tracing constellations with my eyes. To be honest I’d love to go stargazing one night! with a certain someone ofc ;)

Amir Taaki is going to save the Bitcoin using 5 Female ‘Monk Hackers’

Amir Taaki is a Bitcoin developer with a past in Syria where he has recently spent a few months countering terrorists. The situation in Syria has famously been escalating for a period, attracting attention not only of the Western media but also of people trying to help.

He has spent some time in Northern Syria protecting the local inhabitants from harm and fighting against ISIS and also participating in social reconstruction afterward and trying to familiarize the locals with  the newer forms of today’s economy like Bitcoin. The plan is to build a new blockchain-based economy of the future. As you can see, while everyone else is talking about, Amir is doing it. And so is Russia.

Using blockchain to create a better system

Amir Taaki plans to spend more time making the world a better place and helping the world return to the basic values that Bitcoin used to uphold when it was originally intended, which were to challenge the regimes, gain transparency, and give people freedom.

The notorious developer points out people are now more interested in earning money with Bitcoin, which was not what it was used for to begin with. His idea is making the world a better place. A pure democracy is a key to a better world. He says in his interview to Quartz:

“The real question <The Unabomber>  is posing is, do we need to make a complete break from this technological super-system, or is there a way to reconfigure it?”

Amir Taaki is known for his, ahem, unusual beliefs about Bitcoin, which, coupled with his not inconsiderable skillset, make him a very interesting figure in the eyes of the Bitcoin community.

Downshifting all the way, and then some: Amir is all for the simple life, and he takes the concept even further by aiming for an ascetic (or that of a monk) lifestyle for himself and his followers. His penchant for hacking is also easy to understand: there are a plethora of people who aren’t happy with the brave new world government in a position of power now. So it comes as no surprise Amir Taaki’s interests lie in the area of shady internet projects. One of his projects you will highly likely know about called Dark Wallet is an attempt to create completely untraceable bitcoins.

The Plan

After Taaki came back from North Syria where he was fighting ISIS, he found the world of Bitcoin has changed significantly. There were a lot more businesspersons now making huge deals of money out of crypto-economy. With everything so commercialized, Barcelona-based Taaki started working on a project called Autonomous Polytechnic Group with branches around the world. The aim is to train “ideological hackers” who would help him overthrow the global regime.

“If we want technology to be actually helping humanity and society and not being just another commodity that makes our lives more comfortable, and easier and actually entraps us into a system of rigid control—if we want to actually break free of that, if we want a technology which uplifts us, which shapes the world, then we need to start thinking about what the ideas about bitcoin are. “

Calling the Bitcoin “the unstoppable honey badger”, he predicts a future where the existing state of the world would be replaced with a state that is based on some of the concepts from crypto-anarchy.

“Now what we should do is to do a proper dialectics with crypto-anarchy, free software movement, hacker movement, we should deconstruct these movements to find out what the elements of them that are good, because they have some very interesting ideas, even the anarcho-capitalism, crypto-anarchism, all of it, and take those ideas and marry it with this new ideology which has a very big movement behind it, and I believe will play an even bigger role in the future in transforming many different nations throughout the world. “

With plans of creating an infrastructure that would be built on blockchain to create a new type of society, Taaki is planning to use his students as followers who will learn from his extraordinary technological skill set.

We are certainly fond of the idea of using integrity, a decentralized ledger, and some new ideas to build a better world. In fact, we have mentioned it more than once ourselves.

Taaki is intent on using five young female (for the purpose of gender equality, of course) hackers to change the world for the better.

“I’m going to get my group of students, I’m going to train them, we’re going to deliver results, people will see the impact of our work. History is always changed by a small group of people that is completely devoted to an idea, not by a large mass following no idea.”

The students of his, give of them, female and young, will live together and start a movement that will help introduce real democracy to the world using open source software. We are all for bright-eyed new things and sure we will hear more about the monk hackers and a beautiful new world soon.
