Lantern Plankton Migration
Nereus x Reader
(Y/n) shot Flora a withering look, not to be combated with Flora’s famous puppy eyes. But (Y/n) held her ground…For ten seconds.
“Fine! I’ll go to the stinking party!” (Y/n) caved, throwing her arms in the air.
Flora cheered, choosing to ignore (Y/n)’s next comment “Who knew that zooplankton migration was Andros’ version of summer solstice…”
“I’m so glad you're coming! No one else can, other than Aisha. And I’ll get to show you off as the newest member of the winx club!” Flora said excitedly.
“And here I was hoping to have a quiet Saturday after all that Trix nonsense…” (Y/n) said grumbling, but couldn’t help the smile that shone through. “Well, at least it’ll be a fun Saturday with my BFF!” (Y/n) said, jumping into the excitement right along Flora.
“Right?! And I have the perfect outfits for us!” Gushed Flora.
“Oh, is it…?” (Y/n) said, hyping her best friend up. Pointing to a certain set of outfits in Flora’s closet.
“You guessed it! We’re splitting the co-ords!” Flora squeed.
“YAAS! But I call dibs on using the top.” (Y/n) said, and grinned with mock cunning.
“Aww…so mean.” Flora said with false disappointment.
And that’s how the girls showed up to the party. (Y/n) wore a flutter sleeve tube top with a tropical floral pattern and a pair of white high-waisted shorts. While Flora was rocking a maxi skirt of the same pattern, with a slit to the mid-thigh and a black lettuce edge crop top. Aisha came swayed over to the girls,
“Well, well, don’t you look like a pair of baddies!” She said, hugging both girls. “So glad you guys came.”
Flora gave nothing but a smile, (Y/n) laughing “Like we would miss it! Plus Flora threw those puppy eyes at me… Can’t ever say no to that.”
The girls all laughed at (Y/n)s’ little joke. Aisha turned towards the moon pool in the center of her family's pavilion walking (Y/n) and Flora over to greet her cousins.
“You haven’t met my cousins yet have you (Y/n)?” Asked Aisha as they made their way over.
“Can’t say I have, I was in Linphea College during that whole ocean… fiasco.” (Y/n) said, shrugging. Waving her arms around a bit when mentioning the betrayal of Tritannus.
“Well you’ll get to meet them now!” Aisha said as the girls got to the pool, turning and gesturing to two of the mer-people within the moon pool “Hey guys! I know you know Flora, but we have a brand new member of the winx club! This is (Y/n).” She said, presenting (Y/n) to the merman and mermaid. (Y/n) smiled and gave a little wave. “(Y/n), these are my cousins Tressa, and Nereus!” Aisha said pointing to the mermaid, and merman respectively.
“OH! So you’re fishlips’ brother!” (Y/n) said before she could stop herself. Seeing Nereus and Tressas’ confused glances she continued “Sorry, little nickname I gave him during Flora and I’s talks. So sorry about that whole thing by the way, it must have been devastating for you three. I just wished he didn’t get pushed to that point, ya know?” (Y/n) said a bit melancholy.
Nereus gave a solemn nod in agreement. Her sentiments (and playful insult) instantly endeared (Y/n) to him.
Tressa decided to lighten the mood, “Ah, it’s all in the past now… Come on! the lantern plankton are about to arrive!” She said diving into the moon pool.
Aisha and Flora transforming into their sirenix forms and diving in after her, Nereus hesitated with (Y/n). Waiting patiently to follow after her.
“What’s the matter?” asked Nereus when (Y/n) made no moves to enter the moon pool.
“Would now be a bad time to mention that I don’t have any spells to help me breathe underwater?” (Y/n) said, gesturing towards the pool where her friends disappeared.
Nereus laughed, it was a little funny to see someone so confident get nervous so quickly.
“Here, stay next to me. I think I’ve got something for that.” Nereus said gently, pulling (Y/n) into the water.
(Y/n) chose not to protest, even though her clothes were getting wet. She was curious to see what the ocean prince would do. Nereus gently placed his arm around (Y/n)'s waist, amazed at her immediate trust in him, wondering aloud.
“You trust quickly,” he said.
“Oh no I don’t! But Flora trusts you.” (Y/n) said her expression turning serious “Which means you're someone worth putting at least a little faith in.” (Y/n) said, instantly returning back to her lighthearted teasing.
Nereus felt his cheeks warm a bit at the statement. He wasn’t sure why, since most people he knew praised his good character. But hearing from (Y/n), who was such a bombastic and friendly person herself, made it feel like guppies were swimming around in his gut. Realizing that (Y/n) had been patiently waiting for him for a bit he hurriedly placed an underwater breathing spell on her. Tucking her to his side and swimming her into the open water. Which made (Y/n) realize something about the spell rather quickly…
“You jerk! Ya could’a told me that the spell keeps you dry!” said (Y/n) playfully, slapping Nereus on the arm.
“Oh, my apologies! I guess I don’t really consider these sorts of things…” Nereus said, cheeks flaming with embarrassment.
(Y/n) couldn’t help but laugh, covering her mouth trying to hide her smile. “Relax, I’m not actually mad. Now come on, take me to this plankton march… thing.” she said,
“The lantern zooplankton migration?” Nereus said, raising a playful quizzical eyebrow.
He wasn’t used to people talking so relaxed with him, being a crown prince and all. But he was enjoying it. (Y/n) brought out a playful side to him that he hadn’t had since his brother's banishment.
(Y/n) just rolled her eyes with a laugh, allowing Nereus to swim her to the observation area. Meeting up with Aisha, Flora, and Tressa. They talked until the plankton appeared. It was a beautiful sight, it was like glowing living smoke. The colors shifted with the twists and turns of the zooplankton colony. Everyone was quiet with awe, the occasional sounds of wonder murmuring through the crowd at a particular color shift or swirl of the plankton.
Then something amazing happened, while the rest of the spectators with a large swath of the lantern plankton, a small arm of the colony meandered it’s way to (Y/n). Swirling around her (Y/n) reached out to them, playing with the little creatures pushing them to and fro. Nereus gazed at her, smitten. It was like an aquatic halo of multicolored light surrounded (Y/n), highlighting all her glorious features. Nereus could only equate what he was witnessing, to the magnetic beauty of a siren. Her light hearted genuine laughter was music to his ears. Nereus was bewitched by her, body and soul. Only the lantern plankton hurrying back to their migration was what returned him from his stupor. The tail end of the colony disappears into the ocean waters, causing the spectators to return to their homes.
The swim back to the party was a jovial one. Aisha gushed about (Y/n) and the lantern plankton, since it was something that no one had ever seen before. (Y/n) described how wonderful it felt to be amongst such amazing creatures. And it wasn’t until the trio of girls started making their good-byes that Nereus realized he might not see (Y/n) again for quite some time. It was now or never.
(Y/n) heard Nereus call her over, when got closer to him he waved her down to his level. However when (Y/n) leaned down, she felt lips on her cheek and heard a splash.
“Nereus! I’m so gonna get you back for that!”

So, in the process of trying to get my partner into one of my childhood favorites, Winx Club, the brain gremlins took hold of me and I am now in the process of creating a rewrite. Not the entirety of canon, but definitely the first three seasons and throwing in some extra stuff from other seasons that I really enjoyed as well as some of my own personal flair.
That being said, a rewrite obviously has to come with redesigns and I have literally just finished up everyone's first transformation
Layla, or Aisha, is up first! I did really enjoy her original design (honestly, they're all wonderful) but it just wasn't going to work for my AU. Considering she's from a planet that is dominated by water, as well as being related to actual mermaids, I absolutely had to add in more mermaid traits. So we have wings that look and act similar to dorsal fins in the water which makes her an exceptionally fast swimmer, almost on par with her cousins. Then, of course, I had to include shells in there. The shells that function as her heels are angel wing shells and a horn snail shell.
Musa, oh Musa. Her original was lovely but it just didn't have enough punk inspiration. Luckily I was more than happy to provide a little in the form of shorts and a half skirt on top of wonderful boots with buckles. I did keep the sheer centerpiece though because I really wanted to pay some respect to the original. Also, and this is just my personal opinion, space buns are superior. My shining glory of this design has to be the wings, though. The bass clefs are wonderful but to top it all off I had to add the CD shine. It was a necessity. Also, if you haven't noticed the fact that her arm accessories mirror Layla/Aisha's, now is the time to notice. SoundWave will be a thing in this AU.
Flora needed more green! She deserves a little green considering she's a nature fairy and how else would I incorporate it other than vines? Especially considering she uses vine attacks all the time! Also that rose inspired skirt was a pain to do but so worth it. If anyone deserves a rose skirt, it's Flora.
While I do love Tecna, her original always felt like it was missing something so, after some scrolling through sci-fi stuff, I added the cropped jacket to it and more green for her as well. The ear piece actually extends into a helmet with a retractable visor, I'll probably post another image with it on full display another time.
Another thing to add is that there is a criminal shortage of Flora x Tecna content to the point that I haven't even seen a fun little ship name for them. So, I'll just be using BioTech.
Getting right into Stella's redesign, starting with the wings! I did like her original wings but with her being the fairy of the sun I kind of just spread them out similar to the way rays of light look. As for her outfit, I really wanted to add onto the ethereal kind of look with gorgeous drapery similar to what you see in depictions of goddesses but with a modern twist! Hence the underbust and other additions.
Bloom but much more draconian. As she deserved considering she's the keeper of the dragon fire. Dragon wings. Dragon scales. Need I say more? Yes, actually. Her boots are more armor like, which was fun but not the best part. The silver chains, the necklace, the gemstones. They're made to be a mirror to Stella's because SolarFlare is absolutely iconic. They deserve each other so much and it is my mission to highlight this fact.
I have so much planned for this AU. So many ideas that I've already noted down and places I want to go with this, I can't wait to get started.
And I literally just realized that this AU needs an actual name, so I'm going to go with Psyche. The reasons why will become clear later. 💜

POSSIBLY UNPOPULAR WINX SEASON 9/REBOOT OPINIONS
I know I am late talking about this but a while ago this promo image of Winx season 9/the Winx reboot popped up on the internet. I had a rant before about not liking the new transformation designs. In my opinion the original Magic Winx designs are much better and I will never understand why they want to change it as every design suited each fairy so perfectly. The new wing designs are much more generic and boring too. The crowns are pretty, yes, but it looks like everyone gets a crown now, taking away from the uniqueness of the individual designs. Or, they did it because everyone is a princess now, something I think would also be a bad choice. As much as I love the designs and differences between the kingdoms in the Magic Dimension, I thought it was a good thing not every Winx was royalty, showing that you do not necesarily need to be a princess to be special. Yet, for the girls who are princesses, the stories and how each girl deals with the responsibility of being a princess was very interesting. All these unique stories are part of what made Winx so good and interesting. The bags they wear in the new transformation designs I personally just do not like, as in my opinion it does not look so 'fairy-like'.
On to the casual outfits;
First the positives. Even though overall I am very unhappy with these designs, there are things I do like! Mainly, the hairstyles. I love how Bloom has her messy hair back. Flora gets to keep her original hair too, a style that just looks wonderful on her. Musa's buns are super cute, I love how it gives a nod to her season 1 hairstyle. Tecna looks fabulous. As much as I love Layla/Aisha's original curles, I think she looks great with braids too! The only thing I think that is wrong with the hairstyles is that Stella has no bangs. I want Stella's bangs back!
I also like that there seem to be different face shapes, making each girl more unique. A great choice I think! Their heights and body types seem to vary now too. Something I think could be a nice touch too! I always imagined Layla/Aisha and Stella to be tall, I think it suits them! Musa looks super cute short! I only would have liked it if Bloom was shorter too, as I always imagined her that way. But that could be subconcious shameless self-projection too, as I am short and always recognised a lot of myself in Bloom. Also I would just love to see more short main characters in general hahaha
Now the negatives, mainly, the outfits. To be completely honest. I hate them all. Some have some good elements but they are just.... too much. More is not always more. In this case, more just is a mess. I think they also do not fit the original Winx vibe at all. Where are the crop tops? I want the crop tops back! Especially for Bloom crop tops were such a recognisable element of her style.... I think out of all of the girls, Bloom's reboot outfit here is the worst. It looks awfully messy and childish. There is way too much going on. Sometimes less is more. There are way too many patterns. Bloom is not wearing the outfit. The outfit is wearing Bloom. This especially hurts as Bloom has always been my favourite fairy. They did her sooo dirty. I am scared they might have put her in flat shoes too.... The girl just needs her heels! Lastly, why so much pink. Where are the blue shades that made her outfits so iconic? I hate it.
Almost everyone wears a lot of pink now, again taking away from the girls' individualities. Pink is a pretty colour, but using it this way does simply not work. Especially with Stella it is a problem. Stella does not look like Stella. Stella looks like Barbie. Now there is of course nothing wrong with Barbie, but please give Stella back her oranges and greens. It made her stand out! Now she looks so generic and like she is a copy of Barbie....
I love how Flora has this 70's vibe going on. But they just piled too much on top of each other, something that is a problem with a lot of the reboot outfits. I do like that Flora has her hoop earrings again.
Tecna's outfit is not awful, but her original is way better in my opinion. I do like how her outfit still looks futuristic. I will just not understand why each leg of her leggings has a different colour. I also think the fabric wrapping around her arm looks messy. I do like the material of her skirt. Also, give Tecna her purples back.
I like that Layla/Aisha has this sporty vibe going on but.... oof. The way they coloured her outfit is once again... messy. It does not look cohesive. It looks so random. Why oh why. I like the shape of her cropped (yay!) top/hoodie but there just is something wrong with that skirt I cannot quite put my finger on.
I think colour scheme wise, Musa is the least awful. I think it was a good choice to put her in pants, Musa has always had a bit more of a tomboyish vibe in the original three seasons, I think that suits her so well! But again. I am missing the crop top. And again, there is too much going on. Now I don't say everyone always has to wear a crop top at all times, but more crop tops would definitely help create that original Winx vibe.
I will never understand why they keep trying to fix things that are not broken. I so wholeheartedly hope these outfit designs will still change a lot and that the girls will at least get their original personalities back in this reboot, but after seeing these outfit designs I am mostly just scared. I wish it wasn't cgi animation too, the 2D animation of the original seasons was much more expressive and so so beautiful and unique, even with animation mistakes. At least this cgi looks better than the season 5+ cgi....

Decided to check out X-Men ‘97 after all because oh shit right the X-Men are cool I forgot, and I opted to watch a handful of episodes from the original cartoon just to remind myself this continuity, and then jumped to the first episode '97:
Oh my God Cyclops is so cool when Hugh Jackman Wolverine isn’t around to steal focus
There are little things to make this really feel like a 90’s product: the X-Men ballin’ and Gambit’s crop top are more obvious ones, but for me it’s Dr. Cooper running on a treadmill while video conferencing with Cyclops and Jean. “Woman on a treadmill while video conferencing” is really efficient shorthand for 90’s portrayals of women
They did a pretty good job approximating a lot of the voice actors. If I didn’t know any better I’d say they actually got Lenore Zann (who I've always adored for her performance of Aisha Clan-Clan in Outlaw Star) back for Rogue.

Morph’s blank face design is pretty good! I'm also enjoying his role as "cameo machine"!
Pretty glad to have been wrong about the animation quality looking outright bad. It’s a little stiff at times, but they crank it up when it really matters, like Cyclops's Optic Blast Shmoovement and Storm turning a desert into glass and making a glass tornado to shred up a bunch of Sentinels.
I hear they spent like a shitzillion dollars to get the rights to use The X-Men Theme so they really fuckin’ use it as hard as they can. And they’re right to, because it’s a good goddamn theme.
Doing the 90’s CG credits but now it’s just the actual models they use in the show is so conceptually funny
THAT WAS ACTUALLY LENORE ZANN? LENORE ZANN WHO RETIRED FROM VOICE ACTING TO BE A CANADIAN POLITICIAN FOR A DECADE??? SOUTHERN AISHA CLAN-CLAN IN THE YEAR OF OUR LORD 2024???
When watching the handful of episodes of the original animated series I went "boy, Jean Grey sounds a lot like Jennifer Hale", but that timeline doesn't match up at all as far as I know, so that she's voicing Jean Grey here is really very funny.
Actually this voice cast is fascinating for the mix of original series voice actors who came back and who got recast. But ohh my God LENORE ZANN!

Ranking the girls Bloomix forms!
Bloomix is kinda mid? To me??? I like the way it looks more than Believix
1) Bloom
I love the hair! I love different shades of blue??? The dark blue looks so good on her, and I'm absolutely obsessed with the straight up red hair. Her hairstyle fucks too, Bloom loves her braids fr fr. The scale pattern armor FUCKS severely, but the purple and magenta gems kinda suck ass ngl
Her wings fuck too, they look like a actual fire
2) Musa
I hate literally everything going on with the weird solid pink thing at the bottom, but it still looks amazing. She IS the moment. I wish the pinks were maybe blues? Her outfit could use some cold colors aside from her hair. While this is nothing I could imagine s1-3 Musa genuinely wearing it looks good
Musa's twin sister looks amazing this season!
3) Stella
Stella looks like a sunset and I LOVE!! The shawl, the colors, the armor, the wings, the everything it's like a sun set!!! I wish there was more blue, and not ice blue?? Like use a cyan or something, but her hair. But the hair. I've been getting use to to it but I hate it. I'm always obsessed with Stella in purple so this, I love the magenta
4) Flora
Oof, those wings. Poor girl. And that top?? Helppppp. The shawl looks the best on her tho tbh, and her flower skirt + vine heels combo is cute. I like the flowers on her heels and in her hair, love seeing new hairstyles for Flora she looks so great. Her crown also looks so cute and personalized, love love. The heart leaf print on her leggings is so fucking adorable. Just that top, why??
5) Aisha
Aisha looks?? Fine. I hate the boob armor. They put literally zero effort into her wings and leggings. Her shawl is unique and interesting. They somehow decided that she needed to have lighter, nearly ginger, hair and with s8 I can only assume that's with bad intentions. Her wrist cuffs look super cool, her skirt looks awful, the collar of her top looks amazing, she has two weird tiny ass forward facing ponytails on the front of her head that I SWEAR no one else has noticed. It's solidly mid and not Sirenix
Please note that the TWO times they've changed Aisha's hair color for a transformation they made her blonde and a red head
6) Tecna
They put Tecna who wore a full body suit in magic winx when everyone else was wearing crop tops and mini skirts in a sweater, a UGLY sweater with an evil neckline at that, in the armor transformation???? The disrespect! Also they gave the fuck up on her wings
That sweater is so terrible why did you do this to my girl
At least the legging patterns are nice, like the heels too, the shawl is basically a worse version of Aisha's and I can't decide if I love or hate the hair but I'll take it

Final opinion on the latest winx s9 redesign
Aisha: she looks so beautiful! Love the hair and the facts that she looks a bit more mascular than the rest of the girls as that’s how i’ve always pictured her, not a fan of the multiple colors in the outfit
Bloom: she’s the same bloom as always but i despise the outfit sm, I’d preferred if they gave her jeans and a cropped top as a reference to her s1 outfit, i’ve always thought that one matched her personality better
Flora: i like the reference to her og civilian outfit but not a particular fan of it
Musa: she is sooo cute, they still need to work a lot on body diversity but this is a start, she gives me huge short girl energy, love the hairstyle, the outfit… could be better
Stella: she is the one that gives me the most mixed feelings, she looks cute, love the pigtails, the outfit is nice but there’s something about her overall vibe that just feels too generic for some reason, if you wouldnt have think she was the al cartoon version of sharpay evans
Tecna: 10/10, my favorite redesign so far, love the hairstyle, love the outfit, i’m not sure whether she’s actually wearing prosthesis or if that’s just a detail of the outfit but i would love it, i think it’s important to give representation to disabilities and there are many children with prosthesis who could finally feel seen and represented❤️
Now, why the frick are we getting to see Anagan this early?? If they make the wizards the main villain of season 1 i will be so upset because they’re literally the least interesting villains ever (season 7 doesn’t exist)… why rainbow why

I know you’ve answered this several times before but what’s everyone’s current style like (since its possible it’s changed)
This is actually in my character sheets so I’ll give their style with a few examples of colors and fave clothing and stuff like that.
This will get way too detailed but I don’t care, I’ve been waiting for this moment.
Bloom: I don’t know how to describe her style, maybe casual street style but a little cute?
Her main colors are blue, yellow, light orange and the tiniest dash of pink. Bell bottom jeans and high tops are her staple. Other favorites are: thrift shirts, graphic T’s, simple form fitting blouses. Messy ponytails.
Later on her style becomes just a bit more elaborate (in part thanks to the other girls influencing her style) and she incorporates cropped cardigans, pattern jeans and collard shirts. She loves using small flames but doesn’t wear a lot of red. Doesn’t like heels. Messy buns are her fave (she can often be seen with a pencil holding up her hair). ALSO, her staple is bell-bottom jeans and she uses a lot of sweetheart necklines as a way to honor Daphne since that was Daphne’s fave.
Stella: She’s just starcore and artsy fashion.
Her main colors are gold, orange, yellow and green. Later on starts using dark blues and silvers as she gets more in touch with her moon magic.
She wears chain belts, dozens of matching sets (crop shirt and skirt) bralette croptops, mini skirts, high waisted shorts, silk satin fabric (lots of satin fabric), sequins and glitter. Gold jewelry and *extra* shoes, wears heels almost all the time. And her hair is always straightened.
Her style doesn’t so much change as it does just… mature over time, she still wears her glitter and sequins just with more… I don’t want to say taste but more strategically if that makes sense. She experiments more with shapes and overall she does appear a little more mature. She also starts curling her hair a little more often.
Flora: A mix of bohemian and cottagecore aesthetic.
Her main colors are pink and green. Overtime she starts mixing in more neutral colors like beige, white and light greys and browns along with blues and lilac.
She wears puff sleeves, sheer blouses, ribbon corsets and long flowing skirts. She wears cute lace and lots of tull. Simple shoes. Platforms and comfortable heels and ankle boots. She always has braid crowns and accent braids.
Overtime she incorporates even more romantic silhouettes, wrap shirts, translucent shirts over tops, and more complicated shapes for her skirts. She loved showing off her shoulders and back but is at a stage in which she isn’t doing such and is wearing more long sleeved shirts. She also wears more big earings, not just hoops but also big stars and hears and moons and stuff like that. The braids remain but now her favorite kind are waterfall braids.
Musa: She starts off goth/emo but at season 3 I feel like she’s shifting becoming more goth/punk.
Her main colors are dark red and black. Overtime she incorporates dark blues and royal purples.
She wears lots of leather, strappy croptops, fishnets, plaid, checkered patterns, combat boots, chunky platforms, tight mesh tops and big jeans. Her staple is red eyeliner.
Overtime she starts wearing more chains, leg/armwarmers for the aesthetic, chokers, more leather skirts and fishnets with patterns. She loves space buns. And cropped sweaters. Big sweatshirts and lose jeans. Her staple is still red eyeliner but she starts wearing dark lipsticks, dark purple, black, etc.
Tecna: She’s kind of futuristic cyber-punk.
Her main colors are purple and green, later on incorporates silver, blues and whites.
She wears a lot of deconstructed tops and pants. Long boots, irridescent fabric. Cargo pants are her favorite, the more pockets the better. Neon colors and long sleeves.

Her main colors are tans and neutral tones at first, as she discovers herself she incorporates blues, aquas, greens, black but keeps her tans as well.
As her style develops she starts with more sporty streetwear but evolves to just streetwear, cool sweatpants, tracksuits, jerseys, leggings, knee high socks, jumpsuits and sneakers. Cargo shirts.
She incorporates cut-out tops, wide leg pants, platform boots, long necklaces and satin tops as well as interesting patterns for her tops.
Sky: Simple style, becomes a bit more fancy over time
His main colors are blues and yellows. Incorporates oranges and dark green overtime along with neutral tones.
During the swticharoo he mainly wears plain t’s, collared shirts, simple jackets, comfy sneakers and jeans.
After that he wears more ‘styllistic’ shirts and really cool shoes not sure how else to describe it and he honestly doesn’t care that much so that’s as much as he does when he’s not in prince mode. In prince mode he goes all out, long leather boots, capes and velvet.
Brandon: Sporty casual (is that a thing?) becomes more skater boy aesthetic by the day
His main colors are green and white, starts using more dark red and dark blue overtime
He wears tight shirts, vans and either simple or ripped jeans. Printed shirts and lots of weird, but cool, patterns for his shirts. Starts wearing more converses and jackets with patches.
Helia: my boy is very preppy but in a soft way if that makes sense
His main colors are beige and pale yellow and neutral colors, he incorporates pale greens and blues and reds.
He wears a lot of chinos, soft cardigans and collared shirts as well as knitted sweaters and vans that he paints on .
He incorporates overtime blazers, button ups, scarves, pullovers, soft vests and loose… what are they called? Those romeo-like shirts you know the ones. But he still wears exclusively long sleeves unless he’s in the dorm or with just the squad.
Riven: He starts off very street style but after he starts living with his grandparents his street style starts incorporating some punk elements (yes, he was influenced by Musa but he will never admit it)
His main colors are dark red, dark blue and grays. He incorporates more blacks, greens and different shades of red.
Bomber jackets are his staple in season 1. He also wears leather jackets, cropped t’s, graphic t’s, ripped jeans and simple shirts with stickers as well as sneakers.
Overtime he incorporates, hightops, plain sleeveless shirts, black cargo pants and darker bomber jackets with patches. He starts wearing a lot of rings and his sister always paints his nails black. He’ll occasionally ask Musa to do his eyeliner.
Timmy: I love Timmy but he is low-key hopeless. He’s just nerd
His main colors are yellows and oranges, he wears more greens and neutral tones overtime.
He wears simple t-shirts with colored sleeves, baggy jeans and cotton shirts, sneakers and layers. He has 1 jean jacket that he loves more than life itself, both his mom and Stella keep trying to burn it because it’s that old but he guards it with his life.
He starts wearing more button up shirts, turtlenecks and slightly less baggy jeans. He gets shirts with cute patterns (he has one with kitten paws) or graphic t-shirts from fandoms. He also wears a newer jean jacket with patches that Stella made but still has the old one.
Nabu: he has a cool casual style if that makes sense? Not sure?
His main colors are purples, blues, grays and neutral tones.
He wears chinos, button up shirts, cool vans, loose sweaters. Cool long sleeved, loose shirts. Leather bracelets and hawaiian-style shirts only with patterns that are more ‘fashionable’.
Fire-round for the Trix’s styles in season 1 since all fashion has gone out the window for them for different reasons.
Icy: main colors; blues and silvers
HIGH PONYTAIL, leather skirts, crystals and crop tops. Thigh high boots, belts, strappy tops high heels and mini skirts with chains.
Stormy: main colors; dark reds, black and blue
Punk. Ripped fishnets, black, ripped graphic t’s, belts, off-shoulder shirts and plaid shirts over black bras.
Darcy: main colors; purple, yellow and grays.
Long bell pants, vests and blazers. Circles/weird patters, small sunglasses. Platforms and simple crop tops.

Okay you all really liked both my Monster High costume re-design(?) and my Ever After High costume proposal, soeh... I'll just keep going! I refuse the connection of Winx and Netflix' Winx Saga, so I made some costume proposals for a show that would actually be just loosely faithful to the cartoon show. Enjoy!
(This is based on the 1st and 2nd season)
Bloom
I always saw Bloom as a down-to-earth (there's a joke in there somewhere, but I can't find it...) girl representing just the average teen discovering her magical abilities! I think the blue would clash on screen, so I decided to amp up the yellow accents.
I think this makes for a casual, modern Y2K-inspired outfit with trumpet-style denim pants (is that what they're called? honestly, I don't know anything about fashion), a yellow knit crop-top, yellow platform sandals, heart earrings and a heart pin, and a dark blue hair band.
Stella
I'll be honest, I never liked Stella's design all that much as a kid... I feel better about it now, but I still wanted to put her in a yellow sundress instead of her two-part outfit. I added a green cardigan to keep her original color scheme, and I thought those heels with sunflowers on were just to die for!
I would love to see her with a lot of sun and moon-imagery, and I think they'd be really subtle accessories in a live-action show - a chain belt, a necklace, earrings, and perhaps a bracelet. They may look like much, but since the dress and cardigan are plain, I think it'd end up looking quite lovely!
Flora
With Flora, my OG favourite, I went for a more bohemian style with a loose, knit crop-top and a ruffled, flowery pink skirt. I liked the idea of a more earthy color palette, having even the pinks muted.
I gave her flat shoes, which are more practical for gardening, and a scrunchie she could have around her wrist. I know her gardening is magical, but I just love the idea of her growing things organically too, and for that, long hair is better tied back a bit <3
Tecna
This one was soooo difficult to make, because there was a risk of making her look like a young Polish boy who just discovered Adidas... I think a light purple pixi cut would look so good paired with an angular, purple crop top and checkered (striped?) green shorts. I think the triangle earrings would work so well with this!
Her shoes are bigger, and I'd imagine they'd have some tech in them, just like the green watch - they're magical, of course! But also electronic? The glasses are just for inspiration on what she might be able to conjure with her magic, that's for CGI to work out tho xD
Musa
I honestly don't know if I could've made a more direct result... I don't think an IRL Musa would look good with those high pigtails, so I went for space-buns instead. The denim jeans are still baggy (why did I never notice you can see her underwear??), but I chose some that were stone-washed to give them some flair.
The top is more Chinese-inspired to make a connection to her heritage - I searched for almost an hour to find something I liked, and uh... the internet's nasty... I added a lot of musical elements, like a hairpin and a charm bracelet, since I don't really think it's obvious from her design alone that her magical connection is to music. Also, cat headphones. Because why not?
Layla/Aisha
I'll be completely honest, I've never liked Layla's (and yes, I'll refer to her as Layla, that's the name I heard when I grew up with the show) outfit - on itself, it's fine, but I was so confused by her magic when she first appeared. It was waaay later that I learned she has a connection to water (I know it's not directly water-magic).
I looked at her other outfits, and I don't really think any of them did her justice. She's such a cool concept, but I don't think the creators fully knew what to do with her from the start... Anyway, that's just speculation, that's not what you're here for!
I kept her original outfit with a pink crop top, but changed the cargo skirt for shorts (that's just more practical). Of course, we keep the leg warmers; they're iconic! I also added pearl earrings, because... ocean.
Yeah, I struggled with Layla, but I think she could be a JEWEL given a re-design - also in the plot. Keep her personality and backstory, tweak the powers, and the wardrobe changes would come naturally <3

The relationship I want younger girls to get and see. Stella is my little sister, and I approve of this man. Confident in their relationship, ride or die. Jumping of cliffs even without powers. Will fight a batch to save her man. Will accept a marriage he doesn't want to save his love. Accept each other as they are and love each other no matter if you are a monster or not from the royal family. Defies all the stereotypes of it, girl and jock being a toxic couple and all that shit. They straight up said toxic relationship??? I don't know her. (100/10)
Flora x Helia
My big sisters boyfriend, I love more than anything. Would include me in their dates and buy me ice cream. Probably get high together on shit flora grew.(9/10) minus point for the lack of content with them.
Aisha/Layla x Nabu
My mom and dad. Never got over them. Will always and forever love them. Had everything enemies to lovers, arranged marriage, only protec her (season 3). Angst, love, connection, and slowly falling in love. (11/10)
Tecna x Timmy
The relationship I want. My neurodivergent nerds. They fulfill my Demisexual heart with love. They struggle with communicating feelings but still try. First love, puppies just stumbling about. They get excited about talking about their interests. Appreciate each other. Compliments and heart eyes. Timmy is the definition of That's my WIFE! While Tecna is fight me mode when you insult her soft baby boy boyfriend. (9/10) One minus point for the senses drama in season 2.
Bloom x Sky
Idk, man. I think it started out pretty sweet. They became friends to lovers. Both are too shy and maybe unsure of their feelings for each other. Going on walks with the dog. Supporting each other and listening to the problems. Love that so much. Then the drama kicks in. He is engaged?? He is actually a prince??? LOVE the drama (not for my girl bloom. I love her and will fight you), but for ME, for my angsty self *chef kiss*. The scene where she walks through Magix when she makes the decision to leave, the heartbreak, the angst. Ughhh sooo good. Can't really remember a lot of the relationship in the other seasons. Although I do think they have sweet moments. Like in season 2, when they are on vacation and Sky stands watch to protect the girls and tells Bloom not to worry, he'll wake her first if something happens. Calling each other soulmates kinda cringe, kinda sweet. Overall average straight couple. (5.6/10)
Musa x Riven
I really don't wanna get heat for that one, but my God, adult me, is not happy. My teenage self, tho 👀. Loved the angst, drama, bad boy and girl in love, him getting together with the 'wrong' girl and then he transforms into the hero and comforts and falls in love with the 'right' girl. Love it! Season 1 really fed us well. Would applause the difference and complexity in all the relationships, BUT then they really went back to moody edge emo boy in crop tops. Bro. Riven could have been the best character and then they ruined him slowly building up to fuck him over in season 4. I could hardly watch that shit show. They had their moments, but yeah...(6/10).

slide 1: first day(s)??? same fits for terra & flora in that sneak peek, all in the winx suite together and yet at the stone circle musa & bloom have changed but the others haven’t?? and also can’t find flora to save my life in the crowd so maybe that’s beforehand and then we meet flora? also stella is def spying on sky & riv in what is maybe the war room area at some point that day?? idk all this feels like a definite time jump and i am READY to be shown the changes via the girls plotting away.

New Winx Design: Personal Thoughts Because Why Not lol
Aisha:
❤️ love the dreads and her face shape is so cute! It looks like she has defined abs which is cool if she's meant to be particularly more fit.
💔 her outfit is plain compared to the other girls. It doesn't really have a personality to it other than she's sporty and the bright colours make it less cool as well. Aisha deserves better, her outfit shouldn't look like that of a background character!
Bloom
❤️ she looks just like her classic design! Although I prefer the fashion of the original Winx, for what this new Winx is going for, it's not bad. I like the colours!
💔 The bracelets and necklaces make her outfit look boho which doesn't fit Bloom. I'm also questionable on the plaid leggings, I can see how they work but I'd maybe go with a solid colour instead. I'm also confused about what that translucent thing over her right hand is?? But I can go without it.
Flora
❤️ Although I can't make out the whole silhouette, the style works for this iteration of Winx. It's more boho and the flower motif with the sleeves and frills are fun and creative!
💔 I prefer her classic eye shape much more, her eyes look too big here. I see some frill poking out above the belt and I'm going to hope that was an error because it'd be an awkward look. The belt could also be cuter or maybe replaced with some delicate chains/beads! I also think the top green part of her dress overwhelms the design and I'd make her hoop earrings gold instead.
Musa
❤️ I love this cool hair style and her outfit lives up to the fashion of classic Winx imo! I love the cool short sleeve jacket and vest with the big choker! Almost everything about this fit slays!
💔 the only things I don't like are the frilly top and the striped waistband. The top adds an unnecessary element of femininity that doesn't suit Musa and was something I didn't like being integrated into her design over the course of Winx. It could be a cropped tee instead! The waistband could also just be a solid purple.
Stella
❤️....
💔 I'm sorry but I find this Stella to be a serious down grade. Her style is very plain and uncreative for someone who's supposed to be the most fashion savvy. I also find it cliche to give her this pink preppy look because she's the "girly one" when her past design was so transcendent. I can see a colourful beaded bracelet too which makes her outfit look more childish, especially when that's the only accessory she has besides the shades. Her head also looks much bigger than everyone else's???
Techna
❤️ probably my favourite of the redesigns, I just love the commitment to the alternative neon punk aesthetic! The robotic details on her sleeves and tights are so cool and I love the overall metallic texture of her outfit. I like that they gave her bright makeup as well, she looks badass and the most modernized!
💔 no real complaints! I just hope the shoes are just as good lol

I think Aisha could have looked amazing in Athleasure, with a touch of girlyness, if they wanted a darker and grittier setting. Like, scout pants (the good ones made out of cotton to highlight her good-girl princess background), a tight sports tanktop and plenty of bright, fun thread wrapping and beads in her hair (seriously, bright embroidery floss looks amazing against darker skin tones, plus on box braids). A cropped hoodie with all that for warmth and modesty, and you got a solid style without sleeves. So she could fit several quick-release survival bracelets around her arms as well as floss bracelets, for beauty and because of they can be used as makeshift ties. Also, if one travels a lot, they can be a great way to make one's belongings more recognisable. Perfect for an expedition in the "Underdark".
I love this! I actually like Aisha's hair, though it probably is very difficult to maintain while having so much on one's head, and she would be so pretty with braids?? I imagine Stella doing them for her.
I adore the urban fantasy style of Winx where they wear y2k style (from the original 2000s too, not the weird tiktoked version of it). I love how it is combined with their fantasy outfits, almost as if magic bends to accomodate the time and place. That's why Tecna's transformation outfits were more sci-fi, her world was more advanced. So I would absolutely give Layla more personal style just more like y2k.

aisha has joined the battle!
ze tries to get the boys to make good decisions, but that appears to be an uphill battle.
The doorknob's clatter saved Lienzo from having to respond. It turned, paused, and turned back without the door moving an inch. Two tentative knocks tapped against the wood.
He shook his head, even as his smile broadened. "Come in. I'm decent." Back in the mirror, Lienzo considered his coat again. He undid the top button. "You do realize I was joking before, yeah? About knocking."
"Were you? You seemed quite serious." The beast appeared in the mirror's edge. He wore a similar outfit to the evening before, from the rolled shirtsleeves to the cropped breeches that left plenty of room for his... ankles? Heels? Lienzo couldn't be sure of the correct anatomical term, but those strange taloned feet were unshod as ever. The same tattered cloak draped his broad shoulders. The beast had a style, it seemed.
"Maybe you've forgotten, but we're going around the city today. You know. Outside? In the snow and the cold and the wet?"
"This will suffice."
"Darling, why not grab something warmer from the closet?"
"Aisha, I rubbed my filthy hands on half the clothes in that closet. Unless you have a hidden 'extra, extra big and tall' section, our friend here is out of luck. I was more concerned about his shoes. As in, where in the good fuck are your shoes?"
"Darling, I must insist—"
The beast cut zir off with a snort. "Says the man wearing riding boots for a ground expedition."
"Alright, you want to make fun of my footwear choices?" Lienzo shucked the boots from his feet and tossed them aside, face and ears burning. "I haven't seen you wear a single shoe since I got here, sir. Not one!"

This outfit from Stella gets a nice 7/10. It's girly and the color is just gorgeous in her, but goddamn does it look cheap. If the world building of season 2 justifies it though, we could elevate it a point.
Beatrix remains an absolute beauty queen and I ADORE the top part of this outfit. I'm also shocked by how soft she looks! Obviously the smiling is the actress, but the make up is softer - no more dark eyes - and so is her hair, no more braids or tight buns. Shocked, but pleasantly so! 10/10
I would love to know who had the brilliant idea to put Aisha in more blue, so I can slap them across the head. Put her in pink, cowards. This looks like a secretary, bad bad outfit (incredibly cute scene tho) 1/10
I think they managed to downgrade Terra's outfits? At least in the first eps of Fate s1 she's wearing that cute jeans jacket with the cute sunflowers earrings.... 0/10. Now it just looks like she raided Ben's wardrobe.

I think we're going for oversized blazers and fully embracing Bloom's "dark academy" aesthetic, but this one is so much more exciting! The graphic shirt that's a little cropped, the belt! The coat! All the rings! 9/10 because I just know they'll fuck up on the shoes.
LOOK AT HER GOOO!! Aisha in warm tones my beloved. This outfit's got spice! I love love her huge vest, love the track suit too (we can see its a matching piece in another shot), this is just FUN! Literally no outfit is going to top this from Bloom. She looks like a princess, she looks gorgeous in blue, she looks amazing in a mini skirt, all the different textures and fabrics are so fun, I'm IN LOVE. 10/10
Now Rosalind in the other hand... Idk, it fits the character we're given, but season 1 gave us a much more military inspired Roz and I miss it. Let's hope they give us less "bad prime minister" looks and more "evil sergeant" 3/10
Musa baby, what DID you do to the costume department people that they keep doing you so so dirty?? Jesus christ. 1/10 because at least it’s practical for training and makes a cool parallel with the “walking red flags” description from s1.

Tl;dr: They definitely leveled up on Bloom. Aisha and Stella could go horribly or amazingly, we’ll see. It SEEMS like so far they’ve given Flora cool outfits, but I didn’t include her here, because I only realized her interview outfit was a costume later (sorry). Rosalind’s leveled down. Whoever is dressing Musa deserves to be shot in the foot.
