don’t get me wrong, i know all writers and creators are thankful for their fans but they can be really toxic sometimes for example, balance unlimited, fans went off the rails when daisuke was in the same frame as a girl who turned out to be his sister they sent death threats to the character before it was revealed they were related? and were outraged about it even though it’s literally fictional

nobody shoukd be forced to change the way they write something to please others, if you’re not happy with it, don’t watch it, that’s why i’m sad that furudate probably felt like they couldn’t go further into their personal lives and relationships because the haikyuu fandom is so big and by giving people something that they’re not particularly happy with, the whole point of the show (volleyball, development, teamwork etc) would’ve been thrown out the window and people would only be talking about how angry they were their fav had a wife and kids rather than the amazing development and transformation we’ve seen each character individually go through.
