Next Up Forever is all about the concept of hitting a "peak," and how once you hit the peak of your career, everything after that will never be seen as "good" or "iconic" as what that peak was.
100 Bad Days, Karma, and Dear Winter were all well-known hits from the same album (Neotheater), and this album had more hits than the previous three.
And then there was Ok Orchestra. Which got slammed by reviewers, despite having three hits of its own.
New at tumblr, I mostly draw fanart but recently I’ve been buried with commissions so I’m not doing much, anyway, hi tumblr! Here’s my most recent drawing!
This is a portrait I did for art class a while back that I rather like it’s Jack Met from AJR and lemme tell you how hard it is to find a photo of this man that isn’t of him doing anything goofy! Sorry if the lightings bad in the first one !
AJR Neotheater album (work of art, absolute genius)
Covet (band, some of the best absolutely bonkers guitar playing ive ever heard, I'm losing my mind just thinking about it)
Dog Days Are Over by Florence + The Machine (how can it possibly have lines like "happiness hit her like a bullet in the back" and "leave all your love and your longing behind, you can't carry it with you if you wish to survive" and expect me not to go absoltely fucking bonkers yonkers)
