Songs of the chapter: Karma (AJR) + Still Feel (Half•Alive)
You feel a soft silk like bedding and a familiar presence near you. Slowly opening your eyes, you’re laid on your side. In front of you is Saf, your tiny seraph? Guardian? Pet? You don’t really know what she is besides a floating eye with six wings that acts like a bird and a puppy combined. She does also makes cute noises that sound like a church organ*. Slowly sitting up, you take in your surroundings. A grand red room with slight apple decor. You are dressed in comfortable pajamas. You then take in your appearance. Your hands have claw like nails, your wings are tainted red underneath, you have a tail with an eye, and to add to that, your eyes have all changed to yellow with red irises. Then you realize your heavenly eye on your chest lost its wings. Saf then hovers over your head, making you reach for your halo, pulling it down only to realize it's around the newly protruding horns. Pulling the halo carefully over the horns you notice where the old eye would be is rather a cracked and bent opening. You put the halo back with the help of Saf. Everything’s changed. At least your ear wings haven’t seemed to change, but now you can’t put either away, your head wings, or your back ones. You’re going to have to relearn some motor skills with both of them being out at the same time.
Suddenly, Saf blinks like she remembers something before zooming off. You tilt your head watching her before situating yourself to sit at the edge of the bed. You don’t dare follow her. You start playing with your new tail. It was cutely heart-shaped at the end where your newest eye was.
Suddenly, the sound of footsteps make their way down what you assume is the hall leading to the room you are in. Saf’s presence is accompanied by a familiar yet new presence. A man that looks similar to your brother Micheal, minus the height and red circles on his cheeks, appears in the doorway. He’s wearing a white under shirt with rolled up sleeves, a pink striped vest with a black bowtie, his pants are white and accompanied by black boots*. “Oh, you're awake! How are you feeling?” He makes his way over to you.
Looking up at the man in front of you, you give him a small smile. “Better than before, I’m guessing you caught me?”
“Yup! Your wounds healed by the time I made it to this room, and your little friend appeared too.”
“Ah, Saf… I don’t know how she was able to, but it makes sense for her.”
The man moves over to sit next to you, “Before I ask any questions, I should probably introduce myself. I’m Lucifer, you’ve probably heard tons of awful things about me, but I promise I'm not going to hurt you.”
This makes you tilt your head, “I mean mostly the winners fear you and the elders can be cranky about you. However, I've been told if I’m ever in trouble in hell to go to you first. Though it was believed to be very unlikely I’d ever even have to visit hell, much less be sent to it.”
His face becomes shocked, “Really there's still angels that- Nevermind.” He shakes his head, “Three things. How old are you? Why did you fall? Lastly, your name.”
You fidget with your hands nervously as he puts a gentle hand on your shoulder, “Well I’m 149-” The hand on your shoulder tightens slightly before loosening and dropping off your shoulder. Both his hands are in fists on his lap. You can feel his anger simmering. “My name is Eliora, and as for how I fell… I didn’t fall, except for through a portal.”
His expression turns to shock again, “What do you mean by that?”
“I was never put on trial. I was betrayed. They betrayed Heaven, and I found out.” You look off to the side away from him. Your hands tightened onto each other. “I was going to tell the upper ranks what they were doing… She- Someone I thought was a friend tore my wings. I burned the remains. She couldn’t have them. Then I was sent to hell. I never sinned… I shouldn't be here.”
A gentle hand reassuringly lands on top of your own, and you look over at Lucifer.
“That explains why your soul is so pure and only tainted. Usually, sinners have corrupt souls on top of the taint of hell. But what were they betraying heaven with?”
“Exterminations.”
“What-”
“Sera had no permission for it. She gave permission to ‘punish’ me.”
“Damn it if she did that then… fuck.”
“I’m guessing she's the main communication between heaven and hell?”
“First is Adam, but he does more of the dirty work for her.”
“Adam?! He knows about the exterminations?!” Lucifer raises a brow at your shock.
“Yeah, was he not there or the one who punished you?”
“No?! I doubt Adam would ever harm me in such a way, but-”
“You can't be sure with everything happening.”
“It’s just I’ve been somewhat close with him for a while since he was always around Sera- Oh… I was closest with Emily, Sera’s youngest sister, and Adam was around Sera fairly often. He helped me discover my powers. Despite his behavior sometimes, I thought… I don’t know." Suddenly tears welled up in your eyes, and you were engulfed in a hug.
“I’m sorry.”
You wetly chuckle, hugging back, “It's not your fault. Sera has a ton of explaining to do.”
“She does, and she’ll get what's coming to her eventually.” Lucifer separates from the hug, keeping his hands on your shoulder. “Since she runs the exorcists and knows you're down here, we should give you a cover name, one that isn’t any nickname you had in Heaven. We don’t want her hunting you down.”
“That's true… Can you choose it? It’d be funny when it comes out that she couldn’t find me because of a name ‘The Devil’ himself gave me.” You giggle at the thought.
Lucifer lets out a little chuckle, “Sure, how 'bout (Y/n)? Hmm, little miss.”
Saf let’s out a happy noise spinning, “I think it's perfect. Saf approved, too!” This divolves you all into giggles as Saf keeps up her goofy cheers.
“Alrighty now let’s eat, and I can give you a bit of a run down of Hell.” Lucifer helps you up, leading you to a sweet and homey kitchen room with a small 4 seat table. “Sit and I’ll make some of my famous pancakes!” You giggle at his cheery attitude. ‘He really hasn’t changed. He’s exactly like how they described him.’ You felt safe and a lot more happy around Lucifer after your eventful ‘fall’. ‘Maybe some good things will come out of this.’
Soon enough, the pancakes were done. They were heavenly, pun intended. Lucifer told you about the rankings in Hell, him, and the sins along with their rings. He then explained his ring a bit more in depth, overlords, sinners, and deals. Deals were to be avoided no matter what. He told you only Carmilla Carmine would be the overlord he’d recommend going to as she’s very reasonable compared to the others. He informed you on some more things you were only vaguely aware of in hell. Though he admitted to not keeping up much the past 6 years. You didn’t ask why, feeling it was a sensitive subject.
You had stayed with Lucifer since you fell. You learned a lot about him and, in all honesty, a lot about what Sera had done. Once Lucifer learned the uppers knew nothing and it was all Sera, he had compiled all the evidence of such for the day that it would become useful. Though you knew as long as you were in hell, there wouldn't be a chance, but you couldn’t tell Lucifer how you’d get the uppers to listen. ‘I don't know why I’m so anxious to tell him… probably because he’s the brother I never met until falling into hell.’ In turn, you also learned what happened since he fell, and how Lilith just up and left. You also learned about his daughter, technically your niece. Staying with Lucifer reminded you a lot about staying with God. They really were father and son. From their depression to their flamboyant personalities. This made you quite sad and homesick, missing your father.
Lucifer also found out about your birthday. He had called his daughter explaining the whole situation a while back, and she had been wanting to meet you for some time. Lucifer made sure you were adjusted to hell a bit more before letting you meet. Only after 3 months of being in hell did you meet her. She was so sweet, this is also how you let your birthday slip after explaining you had fallen a bit after your birthday. She insisted on holding you a small celebration for your 150th. This did bond her and her father quite a bit, but things were still strained as they avoided topics about their personal lives. They mostly stuck to talking or bonding over you. You were just glad they seemed to be talking.
Soon, they held a small celebration at the manor for your 150th birthday. 2 of the sins and their partners also joined you. Asmodeus, or Ozzie, and his partner Fizzarolli, Fizz, were immediately in awe of you. Ozzie insisted you were one of the cutest kids he’s met since Charlie became an adult and welcoming you to the Hell family. Fizz was also fun. He made you laugh plenty and insisted on you performing with Bee in a karaoke duet. Then there was Queen Bee, or Bee, and Vortex. Bee was also insistent on doing a karaoke duet with you after hearing you were known for music and dance. She also was very affectionate to you, constantly wrapping an arm over your shoulder. Lucifer and Charlie had baked you a cake too. It was beautiful, a purple cake with white roses and butterflies. Each of them had given you gifts. Ozzie offered a fun trip down to visit his ring so you could hang with him and Fizz. He also gifted you a soft purple blanket, which Fizz wrapped you up like a burrito with at some point. Fizz gifted you a cute plush of a hell fox. It was pink and cute. He got the idea after asking Lucifer what you liked. Bee’s gift was a phone with all their contacts to keep in contact with them. Vortex’s gift was to escort you anytime you needed a bodyguard. Charlie then presented her gift, a cute fuzzy red fox hoodie. It was adorable. Lastly was Lucifer’s gifts, a ducky of yourself and a six winged gold fox statue*. You were so grateful to them all.
Soon enough, Charlie had convinced her dad to let you stay with her at her hotel. She had been wanting you to come help out since you were an angel you would know most about souls let into Heaven. You supported her dreams, as redemption should have been the option first before exterminations. So when she asked if you would help, you said yes. It was decided that after her upcoming TV appearance she’d pick you up. Lucifer was just happy you two were getting along and to see you doing better since your ‘fall’.
You kept an eye on Charlie's TV appearance through the news app on your phone. It definitely did not go well, but it never would have, not with how they were treating Charlie before even hearing her out. Definitely reminded you that you were in hell. Soon she called you to let you know they were on their way after picking up Angel Dust, their first guest, who apparently was either in trouble or causing trouble you couldn’t tell with the loud voices in the background. Soon enough, you see the limo pull up. Charlie runs out immediately, hugging you. She had already moved your stuff to the hotel the day before leaving you with just a bag of essentials to bring.
“It’s good to see you! Come, come! Luckily, we aren't too far from the hotel!” She guides you into the limo, taking your bag and putting it on the floor. Inside is a pink tall spider slumped in the middle. Charlie sits next to a gray color schemed girl who eyed you, ‘she’s a fallen exorcist, her halo must not be visible.’ You opted to sit on one of the side chairs. “Both of you, this is (Y/n).”
“So we were picking up an angel greaaaaat, it’s not like extermination isn't coming soon.”
“Angel, be nice! Plus she’s down here!”
“Why did we pick up a fallen angel?”
“Because Vaggie, she can help! She knows more about heaven than us, and it’s been too long since my dad has been, y’know.”
“Eh, nice to meet you, kid. Names Angel Dust.” Angel moves up next to you and puts an arm around you. “So what sin landed you in hell?”
“Angel, you can’t just ask things like that?!” This causes a bicker between him and Vaggie.
You just giggle at their antics, “Why I’m in hell isn’t all that important. I'm here now, so that’s all that matters.”
“How old are you? You’re like tiny as fuck.”
“15 physically in human years, and my height I am smaller than most angels at my age.”
Angel blinks, looking at you slightly surprised, “Your young as fuck-”
“Angel watch your language!” Vaggie exclaims.
You snort, “I’ve met Adam, trust me explicit language and curse words are nothing new.” This makes Vaggie give you a weird look, but before you could ask, the limo came to a stop.
You put all your stuff away before flopping forward on the bed. “This so nice don’t you think, Saf?” Saf chirped happily in reply as you moved to rest up on your elbows. “At least plenty of good has come out of this… This room reminds me of home...” You sit up fully with a sigh, looking up at the stars you can’t help but shed a few tears, “I miss them, I hope they’re doing ok…”
“We’re here, come on. I have to show you your room!!” Charlie grabbed your bag, dragging you along to show you your room. You were told to take as much time as you needed to make it more comfortable and settle in. She left, stating she’d be downstairs. Saf poofed in beside you, making happy noises at the nice room. It was purple and white. There were golden night sky stars hung in all sizes on the ceiling, along with flowy sheer drapes. It had a heavenly and princess vibe to it, ironically. There were also hidden LED lights, giving the room a beautiful glow.
After your cry session, you freshened up and went downstairs. Apparently, everyone had come in from outside. There were some new faces too. “Oh (Y/n) how’d you like your room!?”
“It's perfect. Thank you, Charlie.” You smile as Saf happily chirps beside you. Charlie immediately engulfed you in a hug.
“I’m so glad you like it!” she squealed. Suddenly, someone clears their throat, “Oh, right, I should introduce you to the new staff!” She then turned to 3 new faces. First, she gestures to a very tall, old-fashioned deer man. “This is Alastor. Alastor, this is (Y/n) the one who I mentioned will be helping with redemption exercises and such.”
The said man looks at you with a curious look, “Pleasure to meet you didn’t know we’d have a fallen angel helping out.”
“Ah, right then, those 2 are Husk and Nifty!” She gestured to a winged cat demon that was walking towards a newly implemented bar and a small cyclops demon. Both gave you a small wave.
“Good to see you again, kid!” Suddenly, you're picked up by Angel Dust. “Didn’t realize how small you were, damn.” He was holding you like a child.
“Probably because aside from Nifty she’s the smallest in this hotel. Not to mention, she is 15 physically, so she’s young too.” Vaggie says.
“She’s a fucking child angel?” Husk was pointing at you from behind the bar.
“Yup! So please keep the adult stuff away from her. Her innocence doesn’t need to be ruined.” You snort at what Charlie says.
“You heard worse from Adam right kid?” Angel whispers to you. Still carrying you. Saf appears chirping a yes for you. “Sup little thing, by the way… What is that?”
Everyone looks at you while you answer, “That's Saf my seraph friend, I don't really know what she is besides the type of angel she is but she's more like a pet or guardian if that makes sense.”
“Kinda, she’s cool. Makes weirdly cute noises.” Angel puts you down, but you fly up to be a bit taller. He pats your head.
“She makes sounds that are of a cathedral organ. It’s pretty cool when she uses it to follow my songs.”
“Alright I think it’s time for dinner! (Y/n) wanna help me?”
“Sure!” Alastor appears near you and Charlie.
“Need an extra set of hands, dear?” Charlie nods before leading you all to the kitchen, showing you the recipes she has planned for the night. During this cooking, Alastor ends up in a conversation telling you about the food he used to make with his mother. This leads to him telling you about some of the popular foods from his time alive in louisiana. In turn, you told him about a movie you were introduced to in Heaven from earth, this led to you explaining the disney princess and the frog story. Charlie seemed to be happy watching you oddly get along with the oh so terrifying radio demon. Soon enough, the food was done.
Everyone sat and ate, getting to know each other. Angel asked you occasional questions about heaven. You answered them the best you could without giving yourself away in the slightest.
*kinda like the honk in Sky children of the light!

Btw background info: God has no clue what time it is anymore nor that Eliora is missing, between the family doing their jobs or looking for Elly no one told their father in fear of worsening his depressive episode (Not the right choice but this'll make for a worthy punishment of those who wronged our girl!)

AJR'S INERTIA ANIMATIC SCRIPT
this shit is LONG btw I'm so sorry. I am not artistically talented enough to make this a real thing, but I hope the writing is nice enough!
SPOILERS FOR THE ENTIRE GAME! SERIOUSLY!!! PROCEED WITH CAUTION! cw for implied sui and sh!
[Opening “vocals” and instrumental have a rhythm similar to a ticking clock. Throughout this, a very high number will be rapidly decreasing in the background, with a clock ticking backwards - going back in time, dozens and dozens of loops ago.]
[MAL DU PAYS - just a single entity - stands in the center of the screen at the first vocal phrase, hovering similarly to Siffrin in the game over screen. On each repeated vocal, another MAL DU PAYS appears to the right, then to the left of the center entity, doing the same floating motion. When the vocals stretch and sound reverse, all entities of MAL DU PAYS will be thrown to the side like when Start Again is selected. It will then zoom in to the center entity—]
Inertia.
[—which will open its mouth as the first proper lyric comes in. It will zoom through the entity on the same beat, moving on from the scene.]
I've worn the same skinny jeans —
[Mira and Siffrin are talking as shown in the intro to Act 1, where she asks him if he's okay traveling with the party.]
— since I was fifteen.
[Siffrin smiles at Mira like we see in the same cutscene - he's never been happier!]
It's probably nothing.
[Mira looks at Siffrin with a concerned expression, and the screen fades to black.]
Inertia.
[MAL DU PAYS mouths the word again on the fade-to-black, and it zooms in once more to the next scene.]
[Similar to the cutscene in game, the scene pans down slowly from the top of the Favor Tree, showing Siffrin looking up towards it with his back turned towards the camera.]
My friends say they're quittin’ this week — to chase down their dreams.
[On beat with the song (¾ time signature, so every 3 beats), there will be slightly transparent scenes above Siffrin's head, like flashbacks - his friends are shown in the tree’s leaves, influencing his Wish. First it's Odile, who looks bored in the shop. Then Bonnie, who has their arms crossed over their chest, looking to the side sadly - they're thinking about their sister. Next is Mira, who has stars in her eyes, excited about what's to come next after their victory. And finally, Isa, who has one arm stretched out with the other hand gesturing towards his sleeve - showing off his fashion.]
They're probably bluffin’, but…
[The camera cuts to show a side profile of Siffrin, looking down at the leaf holding his Wish. He then lets go of the leaf and turns at the same time, as if the Wish he made wasn't that big of a deal. The screen once again fades to black.]
Don't you like it bigger, better —
[This sequence will have the scenes pop up, then slowly fade out, with the next scene popping up afterwards.]
[Siffrin and his party are eating happily in the Clocktower.]
— but you do what you can? (do what you can)
[Siffrin and Isa are laying in bed, Isa looking embarrassed with a sheepish smile, while Siffrin simply looks curious.]
Don't you like it a little better —
[The party looks up at the entrance to the House, their backs turned towards the camera, each of them holding their Orbs above their heads.]
— when you don't understand?
[With the camera facing their fronts, the party walks through the entrance of the first main room, everyone looking in different directions curiously.]
(don’t understand)
[Siffrin hovers his hand over the star save point, the rest of his party, evenly divided, looking around his shoulders in confusion.]
I was gonna save the planet —
[The party enters the Death Corridor. Mira is grabbing Siffrin’s cloak with a distressed look on her face, while Siffrin is squinting at her with a cocky smirk. He’s the trap master, he’s got this! There’s nothing to worry about!]
— but today I’ve got plans.
[With the camera at the other end of the room - the exit - Siffrin is shown looking around one of the middle pillars. Mira is seen in the background with her hands together in front of her chest, looking anxious. Isa is watching Siffrin with a little smile, and Odile and Bonnie are in the opposite corner, Bonnie looking at the wall while Odile looks down at Bonnie.]
I guess this is just what I am.
[The camera cuts back to be by the party, only Siffrin being shown in the shot. He stands in the middle of the room with a big smile on his face, showing off a thumbs up. Everything is fine!]
[On the first beat to the three ticks of the instrumental, multiple scenes will pop up on screen similarly in style to the previous ones.]
[A massive rock appears above Siffrin’s head.]
[Siffrin wakes up in the meadow.]
[He sits up quickly, like he was waking up from a nightmare.]
I'm an —
[The lyrics will start during the last fade-out of Siffrin waking up. Once it does, MAL DU PAYS will zip across the screen in the darkness towards the right - coming back to the present time rather than going back. No more backstory. No more prologue. This is where the story starts.]
— object in motion, —
[Throughout this whole section, a counter will be in the corner, counting up with EVERY beat in the song. This is the loop count. The scenes will not change with every beat, signifying that Siffrin has experienced those exact moments in the same exact ways multiple times.]
[Siffrin, with his back turned towards the camera, is seen hitting the switch on the pillar, his allies looking towards the fallen rock behind them in shock.]
— I've lost all emotion, —
[Siffrin walks by some Tears with a tired expression, staring blankly forward towards the end of the hallway. His allies behind him look at the Tears curiously, but follow him anyway.]
— my two legs are broken —
[Siffrin is hunched over slightly, facing a locked door with his hand closed into a fist, resting it against the door. Mira behind him is holding a note - the note about the key in the classroom on Floor 2 - looking upset, while Isa and Odile stand at each of her sides, both looking as if they were trying to think of what to do. Only Bonnie is looking at Siffrin, their head tilted slightly at his shaking, angry demeanor.]
— but look at me dance!
[In the same room, the camera cuts to show the front of Siffrin, who turned just a little to face away from the door. With the other adults distracted, he fails to notice Bonnie, who looks at him with wide eyes as Siffrin holds his dagger. It’s pointed at his own stomach, and he has an exhausted smile on his face.]
An object in motion, —
[Siffrin and Mira are talking on the bench. Mira is looking at the bonding papers in her hands with a worried expression, while Siffrin sits with his eye closed, a big smile on his face.]
— don't ask where I'm going —
[Siffrin and Odile are in the woods, the familytale sitting on the ground between them. Odile is looking off to the side, her mouth open and her eyes tired as she talks about her mother, while Siffrin sits with his eye closed, a big smile on his face.]
— 'cause where I am goin' is —
[Siffrin and Bonnie are outside of Dormont, Siffrin standing just behind Bonnie as they look towards the right at a Sadness. Bonnie has their hands raised into shaking fists, while Siffrin stands back with his eye closed, a big smile on his face.]
— right where I am!
[Siffrin and Isa are walking into the field. Isa is pointing up towards the stars, just ahead of them, and Siffrin is following him, their eye closed, a big smile on their face.]
[The short instrumental between the lyrics will show the others joining Siffrin and Isa for a picnic under the stars. They’re all laughing, smiling, eating…having a great time.]
Where I am goin’ is —
[It cuts to zoom in slightly on Siffrin, who is smiling and laughing along with his family members…]
— right where I am!
[...but then the screen will glitch, and while the others will continue their laughter, Siffrin will be looking away from them, appearing exhausted- no, guilty. He’s making them love him.]
[The screen fades to black.]
Inertia.
[MAL DU PLAYS will move to the left of the screen - looping again - and mouth the lyric.]
[The loop counter will stop temporarily. It should be at 72. Throughout this section, the counter will count up every 3 beats instead.]
You said you'd break up with her, —
[Isa and Mira are around a frozen housemaiden, Isa holding their partner’s half of a bonding earring with an excited expression. Mira appears to look the same, both of them fantasizing about the future reunion of the partners. Siffrin is in the background, staring blankly at their backs. His stare is noticeably more focused on Isa.]
— but she met your family, —
[The party is in the secret room where the runaway kid’s book is found. Isa is laughing as Mira looks distressed, Odile rolling her eyes while Bonnie peeks around her to watch Mira. Siffrin, once again to the side, is looking towards the bookshelf of romance novels, which sparked the conversation in the first place.]
— and dating's the worst, yeah.
[Odile opens her mouth as Mira playfully yells in her direction, Mira’s eyes squeezed shut - don’t tease her, madame! - while Bonnie starts laughing. Isa’s head is turned towards Siffrin. Siffrin has turned away from the others all together, his arms wrapped around himself. Isa looks concerned, but can’t say anything over the bickering.]
[The screen fades to black.]
Inertia.
[MAL DU PLAYS will move to the left of the screen - looping again - and mouth the lyric.]
Now you're not in love anymore, —
[Now at the end, Siffrin is looking up towards Isa, waiting for him to confess. Isa looks shy, his hands in fists to his sides as he tries to gain the courage to say it. Just say it. Just say it. They’ve been waiting.]
— but you'll stick it out for like twenty years more, saying…
[On beat with the counter in the corner, Isa will rapidly change positions, all of them looking hesitant and shy, while Siffrin remains completely still. The only thing changing is their smile - it keeps getting bigger, strained, forced. He never says it. He never will. They’ve heard this same thing so many times. Why won’t he just say it.]
Don't you like it bigger, better —
[Like before, this sequence will have the scenes pop up, then slowly fade out, with the next scene popping up afterwards.]
[The party is in the storage room on Floor 1. Siffrin is surrounded by the others, looking excited with a book in his hands. His allies, however, look confused. They can’t read that book.]
— but you do what you can (do what you can)
[Siffrin is holding the page of the article about the King, pointing towards the star on his armor. He looks deep in thought as he explains, the backs of his allies slightly in frame on each side.]
Don't you like it a little better —
[Loop and Siffrin are sitting under the Favor Tree, Loop looking up with their hand pointing towards where their chin would be, appearing to be brainstorming. Siffrin’s back is towards the camera. He’s hunched over slightly, not bothering to look up at Loop.]
— when you don't understand?
[The screen zooms in slightly on Loop, who has their eyes closed with nervous brows. Their hand is up and to the side slightly with relaxed fingers, as if they were asking a question. At this rate, isn’t it better this way, Stardust?]
(don't understand)
[With his allies looking at the orrery in the background, Siffrin is staring down at the journal of someone attempting Wish Craft. His eye is wide, and his mouth is slightly open in awe, like he just discovered something incredible.]
[The following scenes will be in time with the counter.]
I was gonna save the planet, —

[Siffrin and Isa are standing in front of the Favor Tree, with Siffrin looking dismissive as they speak with a big smile, their eye to the side as if they were rolling it. Isa, however, looks very upset, and yet concerned at the same time. Where is all of this coming from so suddenly?]

[Back to the camera again, Siffrin points at Loop, seemingly yelling at them. Loop is looking away, their eyes and expression filled with guilt, with their hands up in mock defense. They knew. They knew the whole time and didn’t tell him. The loops are never going to end.]

[Siffrin can be seen barely in frame, hastily walking away from the tree. Loop is in the background peeking around the leaves, reaching for him with a worried expression. It’s too late. He’s off to prove his theory. It has to work. It has to.]

[In the hallway of the Clocktower, Siffrin is seen walking down a dark hallway, carrying all of the Orbs in his arms. The party can be seen in the background of another room, all in deep discussion about what to do, completely unaware of Siffrin’s intrusion and theft.]

[With the same exact spacing as the first shot in front of the House, signifying Siffrin being alone, he holds his arms up in the air. They’re empty, the Orbs floating about halfway up towards their spots in the massive door. He looks so small compared to it. But that doesn’t matter. He’s strong now. He’s so much stronger than he ever was before.]
[The short instrumental will show different scenes in time with the song, popping up and fading out before the next pops up*]
[Siffrin effortlessly slices through the first Sadness with his dagger. They’re nothing to him now.]

[A vague, ghostly figure of The Researcher comes in from stage right, and The Lost One perks up in time to look towards her, still bowing towards the camera. The ghostly Researcher has red strings attached to her like a puppet, and the strings stretch to the top of the screen with no puppeteer in sight.]

[The Lost One and The Researcher join hands, and gently spin around like a dance. In the background, there's a sketchy-lined flashback of Siffrin and Odile in the woods, with the familytale sitting between them on the ground, as seen in Acts 2-4.]

[The background changes to show Odile grabbing Siffrin’s cloak as described in Act 5 - The Lost One turns his head away from the ghostly Researcher in time, their hands starting to slip out of each other's hold.]

[Similar in appearance to The Researcher, a ghostly figure of The Fighter comes in from stage left, The Lost One’s head being turned to face him as he enters. Like The Researcher, The Fighter also has red puppet strings.]

[The Lost One and the ghostly Fighter join hands, and The Fighter spins them around under his finger. The background shows a flashback of the pair laying in the grass like in Acts 2-4, but Siffrin is clearly looking at Isa instead of the stars. The flashback then changes to Siffrin and Isa in front of the Favor Tree, Isa’s hand raised forward like he was about to touch their shoulder.]

[After the spin, The Fighter and The Lost One stand close together like they were about to slow dance, their faces close together. In the flashback, Siffrin kisses Isa as seen in the Bad Touch event, but Isa pushes them away. At the same time, The Lost One looks up at the ghostly form of The Fighter, as if they were about to kiss him, but looks away instead.]

[Prepared for what comes next this time, The Lost One holds out his arms to the sides, welcoming a ghostly Housemaiden entering stage right, and a ghostly Kid entering stage left. Like the others, The Housemaiden and The Kid have red strings attached to them like puppets.]

[The Kid watches as The Housemaiden and The Lost One join hands, spinning around in a big circle with their arms extended as far as possible. In the background, a flashback plays of Mira and Siffrin talking on the bench seen in Acts 2-4, with Mira looking a little distressed. After a big spin, The Housemaiden lets go of The Lost One, and sends him stumbling back into The Kid, who clings to him in a side hug as the ghostly Housemaiden seems to giggle. The flashback plays Bonnie and Siffrin hugging seen in Acts 2-4.]

[As The Lost One reaches around to return the hug, he flinches, and the flashback cuts from the hug to Bonnie reaching for Siffrin while being crushed in the King's hand.]

The Kid steps back - The Lost One doesn’t like to be touched, after all - and The Housemaiden takes their hand, letting go of The Lost One’s and stepping to the opposite side of The Researcher and The Fighter. One final time, the background lines change to a red color before the flashback disappears.]

[With the party members on each side of The Lost One, he faces the camera again, his hands gripping his hair with his mouth open, eye squeezed shut, like he just yelled something. A red-colored ripple effect will wave through the lineart at the shouted ‘inertia,’ starting at The Lost One and extending out at all angles to the screen edges.]

[He looks towards The Researcher and The Fighter, who fade out and appear as MAL DU PAYS instead, then turns towards The Housemaiden and The Kid on the other beat, and they fade out into MAL DU PAYS as well.]

[The camera spins around The Lost One to his side, and he looks up angrily at the window - the Universe - with a flash of red in his remaining eye, tears streaming down his cheek.]

[The camera makes a full turn around to show his opposite side, still facing the window, and he reels back his fist.]
[On beat to the cymbal crash of the instrumental, Siffrin punches and shatters the window, and it transitions similarly to if the player were entering a fight, revealing Siffrin towering over his friends like at the end of Act 5. It pans up slowly from the party’s backs, similarly to how the cutscene plays in game.]
[Several cuts can be seen of the party looking distressed at different angles, while Siffrin only continues to tower over them, noticeably shaking.]
[Eventually, it pans back up to Siffrin, who looks panicked, but then…]

[Siffrin will visibly take a big breath in, then flinch, a clock appearing in his eye - he feels a tug on his stomach.]

The Maybe Man by AJR is so Furina coded
Soooo I was listening to the new AJR album (I have Steve's Going to London stuck on loop in my head). And then I played through 4.2 over the weekend. And now I really want to make it into an animatic so I have a whole lyric chart thingy set up and everything.
Obvi this is going to contain spoilers for Fontaine 4.2 (not her story quest tho, I haven't played it... will probably rb this with updates if I decide to make any changes to the lyric analysis)

This made me think of how Focalors and the Oceanids wanted to be human. They saw how the humans did goofy human things (having emotions, being happy, being sad, etc... hence the "made up and smiled") and went "Yes I want to do that". So they "don't want to be stone, [they] changed their mind". They didn't want to be oceanids anymore, they wanted to become human.
Wish I was a stone, so I couldn't feel
You'd yell in my face, it'd be no big deal
But I'd miss the way we make up and smile
Don't want to be stone I changed my mind.
This one's a bit on-the-nose. It made me think of Furina's accession speech and how at first she was earnest, probably thinking a lot about what Focalors said to her (the "places [she's] been" being the mirror scene when Focalors first told her to pretend to be the hydro archon), but then she heard the Fontainians judging her and questioning her legitimacy as an archon ("talking shit"). In animatic form this would just be where it shows why she started acting all-knowing and all-powerful. Also I wonder if she actually thought of the Fontainians as her "friends"/equals when she initially began her speech.
I wish I had eyes in the back of my head
Then I could see the places I've been
But then I would know that you're talkin' shit
I don't want to know what my friends think.
I've yet to see Furina interact with a dog so my first thought was that scene where she was playing with the cats in the courtyard on the night Arlecchino attacked her. Not that scene specifically, but just the idea that she normally plays with stray animals in Fontaine's city. The "I wouldn't live long" immediately made me think of her lifespan being unnaturally extended via her curse, meaning humans don't live long to her (not just dogs/cats, though it's the same way pets don't live long in comparison to humans).
Wish I were my dog, out on the lawn,
I'd be so glad when I hear you come home
But if I were my dog, I wouldn't live long
I'm sure gonna miss her when she's gone.
I wish I could act in a show on TV
'Cause then I could practice not bein' me
I'll practice my cry, put it into my reel
But you won't believe when I cry for real.
This one I thought fit Furina really well. Furina de Fontaine acts in plays as well as fakes being an archon. Bro is acting 24/7, always practicing "not being [her]". Because she never is her actual self.
In an animatic I could see that for the "I'll practice my cry, put it into my reel" it could show her crying, like full on breaking down, but then on the "you won't believe me when I cry for real" it zooms out to show that it's a stage with an applauding crowd to show that the Fontainians think it's just a part of the show she's starring in.
She wants to be as wise as a real archon. Whether it be her finally being able to come up with a way to stop the prophecy, or a way to always win in a trial (every "fight", or as she would put it, every "duel"). Except if she was always all-knowing, she would constantly be thinking about the prophecy or other super heavy archon-related things, and being a human, humans aren't meant to constantly be under that strain. Because (as I interpreted the cutscene, at least) even though she had the prophecy and archon role weighing her down, she seemed to at least have some moments where she was having genuine fun (i think??? or maybe she's just that good of an actor and fooled me ig)
I wish that my brain would triple in size
I'd nail every joke, I'd win every fight
But I'd get too deep with that kind of mind
I don't wanna know the point of life.
In some other life I would be rich
I'd travel in style, I'd cover the bill
But couldn't complain 'bout anything small
Nobody'd feel bad for me at all.
She's living someone else's life as the hydro archon. She already lives luxuriously so I think in the animatic it would just be showing her day-to-day life, doing fake archon things. But she can't confide in anyone the truth. She can't "complain about anything small", or break the image that she's this perfect being. And because of that, "Nobody would feel bad for [her] at all".
If I was cocaine or a bottle of Jack
I'd get invited to every frat
But when you get old and your good days have passed
You'll only want me when you're sad.
This made me think of her trailer where she was surrounded by all the Fontaine characters in a choreographed fight. Except instead, this part of the animatic would be her surrounded by Fontainians dancing. Naturally, as an archon, she gets invited to every party.
But when she gets old, and her good days have passed--when the flood dissolves everyone and she's all alone in the sea--she'll only have the memories of those plays and dances that she had with the humans when they were still there. (This never happened but it's what she expected to happen since the beginning. It lowkey reminds me of Briar Rose from Ever After High? Like she wants to party and have fun with everyone while she still can before everyone gets dissolved and she's all alone.)
The first two lines kind of go with the previous paragraph with the music and dancing. But the second two lines made me think of the scenes where she would have Fontainians having appointments to meet with her and being all excited. Except "two or three minutes, then I'm gone". I interpreted this as every human's lifespan feeling extremely short to Furina, especially with that one part of the cutscene where one of the humans was talking about one of their ancestors being the first in their bloodline to meet her--a human that we saw her "talking to" only a few moments ago in the same cutscene.

You'd follow the dance to me at your prom
I would be there when your baby is born
For two or three minutes, then I'm gone.
I wish I was big, as big as my house
I'd sleep on the trees, I'd skip every crowd
But I wouldn't fit on my therapist's couch

Now's when the meat of the song comes in.
She wishes that she was as "big", or as powerful, as a real archon. She'd do all the things a real archon could do ("sleep on the trees", "skip every crowd"... not sure how these would be depicted but you get the point).
But then, she wouldn't need Neuvillette anymore, which I see as her main support (even though she never tells him anything, she wanted him to go to Arlecchino's meeting with her to feel safe so I feel like she places some confidence in him / reliance on him at least). But she doesn't want to not need Neuvillette anymore. She wants him around.
I wish I was God, I'd never trip up
And if I did, well, so fuckin' what?
I could be cruel and break all your stuff
Yeah, I'd be loved no matter what...

Again, she wants to be a real archon (or maybe she doesn't--my favorite part of this song is how it's constantly contradicting itself and going back on its statements because maybe you would want to be all-knowing. Maybe you would want to be all-powerful. Maybe you would want to be God. It's indecisive and constantly changing, just like the human condition etc etc). She wouldn't have to be so scared of messing up. She wouldn't have to be afraid of the humans questioning her legitimacy. She could do whatever she wanted and get away with it. The Fontainians would love her no matter what.
But if I was God, it'd get kinda weird
'Cause you would only say what I wanna hear.
And then you would die. You'd love me to death.
I'd never know who the hell I am.
...Except, if she were an actual archon, she'd still feel weird about how the humans worshipped her. When her act is convincing enough, the humans listen to what she says without question. Especially that one part of the cutscene where she's meeting with one of the citizens and literally starts crying in the middle of it. She makes up an excuse about her being the hydro archon, thus having excess hydro in her system... and the human just. Buys it. She starts fangirling as Furina is crying.
And then they would die. They'd love her to death.
This could fit with that part with the talk of bloodlines and the first ancestor who met her, but I'd like to think that it meant the prophecy's flood.
The prophecy would swallow Fontaine whole. All the Fontainians would dissolve.
But they'd still love her to death. They would still worship her without question.
And she'd never know who she was for real.
I wish I was me, whoever that is
I could just be and not give a shit
Hey, I'll be whatever makes you a fan
'Cause I don't know who the hell I am.
I can see her saying this during her internal monologue stage as her play's final scene.
She wants to be herself, but she doesn't know how. She's been Focalors since day one, so she has no idea who Furina is.

This part of the song oml. "Pandemonium" describes Fontaine's archon quest pretty well, and combined with the instrument spaghetti in the song finale it conveys the feeling of the storyline precisely.
When the instruments start playing and the crowd starts cheering, I could see that being the magic box opening revealing that Furina is going on trial.
Here she goes again, about to put on another performance.
I was thinking of making this into a series? Like I have a lot of songs that line up with characters (not just Genshin, like I currently have one for Danganronpa that's been cooking for like a year) and I want to put it in some kind of lyric analysis / animatic planning format like I did with this one. I'm putting this post (along with the Lyney as Envy Baby drawing) under [ #smug's playlist ] so look out for that I guess?

So we went to watch AJR’s new music video to Touchy Feely Fool, and I guess YouTube had it super, hyper-zoomed into like the upper right hand corner??? Like all you could see was like shots of the sky and maybe the tops of their heads.
We thought it was the finished product so I’m here like “I love how it’s shot out of focus like the feelings are so intense you can’t focus on anything but empty space and hints of therapy. So much is happening on the outskirts of what your brain can process. You wanna experience it but you can’t because the emotional turmoil takes up your whole viewpoint. Genius.”
Then we hit replay.
It was back to normal 💀

Youngest - Nat’s directorial debut is about a young girl who recently lost her father’s bonds with one of her older sibling's friends at a high school house party. When she experiences her first heartbreak, she takes matters into her own hands. In a private Zoom Call with some fans, Nat shared that the film itself has been affected by the current COVID-19 outbreak.
DCEU’s Red Hood - A source recently brought to light the rumor that Warner Brothers was keeping an eye out for Nat as the Red Hood. There are no more details about this and like I said it is just a rumor. Since the source was first published no other word has been mentioned of this project
The Replacements Biopic - Directed by Josh Boone who Nat has worked in the past on other films like Stuck in Love, The Fault in Our Stars also most recently the CBS All Acess show based on Stephen King’s novel of the same name The Stand. This biopic is based on the book Trouble Boys: The True Story of the Replacements
Murder at Yellowstone City- A western film is set in 1882 and follows a former slave who seeks refuge in Emigrant Gulch, Montana, a barren former boomtown now on the fall. A local prospector discovers gold on the same day – and is murdered. The newcomer to town is arrested by the sheriff. However, as the investigation into the prospector's murder progresses and the town's devout preacher casts doubt on the accused man's culpability, a battle between faith and justice threatens to split the community apart. There are some release dates floating around the internet but nothing is certain especially considering that it’s still pretty recent since the movie wrapped. It is set to come out summer of 2022
The Consultant (Amazon Prime Original) - This movie explores the nefarious relationship between employer and employee, posing the question of how far we will go to get ahead and survive. It is based on Bentley Little's 2015 novel, Mr. Patoff, a parody about a bow-tie-wearing consultant who comes to CompWare's rescue when a major merger goes through and then appears to take over the company. Nat will portray Craig, a disillusioned yet gifted mobile app developer who works for a Los Angeles game business. The series most likely already started filming based on a reason post made by Nat pictured above
Other - While doing press for his movie mainstream Nat shared other possible projects he has in the pipeline like the rights he acquired for book and fall he’s set to do this following fall. There’s no confirmation or denial of these projects but it should be kept in mind due to the pandemic that is going on right now and since most if not all of these projects could fall through.

The Line - This movie deals with the lives of university students without the fear of consequence. Filming took place and recently wrapped up in Oklahoma.

However, as Susie's inquiry progresses, we find that the truth and Susie are not what they appear to be. Susie's research is sparked by the abduction of Jesse, a vivacious college student. While Jesse's positivity-themed social media platform has made him a college star, his personal life is far more problematic than his online image portrays. This is based on a 2020 short fil of the same name.
Oppenheimer - With a star studded cast this is the story of American scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer and his role in the development of the atomic bomb. The studio has set a July 21, 2023 for the film
AJR Documentary - A long while after a series of posts where Alex mentioned he was working as a director for a special project for AJR. During a live stream between Nat & Alex and AJR on July 26th, it is revealed that the project is a documentary.
Alex’s second directorial feature - Alex has been hitting for while that he is working on the script of his new feature whether it’s through interviews or kind of cryptic Instagram stories and posts.During a live stream that took place the night of  April 6 (Pacific Time) or April 7 (Eastern time) Alex shared he was going to start production for this movie soon.

𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜:
After a successful over-year-long run with their single Glue. Brothers Nat and Alex Wolff announced the name of their long awaited and heavily teased second studio album (third if you count their work Public Places) Table for Two.
As part of the season finale of the V Magazine series My New York, they announced the name of the album table for two along with other details such as the album possibly containing 15 tracks in total. They also shared about their influences from throughout the years and their current influences for the current upcoming album which according to Nat in the said interview comes out at the beginning of the year 2022.
On February 3rd to commemorate the 15 year anniversary since The Naked Brothers Band series first premiered on Nickelodeon Nat made a post onto the conjoined natandalex Instagram account and added that on top of having plans to release their album Table for Two they also have plans of hopefully going on tour this coming fall but Nat was also quick to add that he and Alex will share more information with us once they have more concrete information.
While on the red carpet at the 5th Annual Hollywood Critics Association Film Awards Alex said in an interview that Table for Two was now going to come out during the fall along with the possible tour and he also added that they might be dropping a single during the summer. Meanwhile Nat was promoting his show Joe Vs. Carole Nat in an interview with Mario Lopez repeated the information that Table for Two could come out in the fall and the tour could happen during the fall as well. He also added that he and Alex will have an announcement for that very soon.

43: How long does it take me to get ready in the morning?
somewhere in the 2-20 minute range. most days, esp. if i'm working from home, i throw on workout clothes and a sweater or something semi-presentable for zoom and that's it. i wear a little make-up when i go into work usually. i rarely do anything with my hair, especially when i wear it curly/wavy. i'll spend an hour or two getting ready to go out once every month or two, but that's never in the morning!
77: What’s a song that always makes me happy when I hear it?
right now its record player by daisy the great with AJR. i can't stop listening to it. also bicycle race, whole lotta love, and anything my mom used to sing in her band

Are you staying home from work or school?
yes, without any choice in the matter really at the time of finally answering these! our classes for the rest of the semester all moved online (although i’m in the process of contacting the uni about just...stopping this semester and re-doing second year come september bc my mental health has nose-dived lmao).
If you’re staying home, who’s with you?
my family - my brother, mum, and dad (plus all the guinea pigs too i suppose :’)) ). we’re all stuck in the house really asides from my mum who is working on certain days since she works in a school and is considered a key worker.
Are you a homebody?
100% yes i am, but i won’t lie that i miss being able to go out and about - i was totally fine and content with staying in the house until i’m forced to stay there haha.
An event that you were looking forward to that got cancelled.
our spring ball at dancing :( it’s always such a nice, fun way to end the semester, plus it was probably going to be the last chance i got to dance with my partner for a while since he’s not going to be around next year, and i have several friends who are all graduating and god knows where they’re going to end up. i’d just been looking forwards to it for so long (plus dancing was like...the one thing i was still excited about each week) so even though there will be other balls in the future.....i don’t think it’ll really make up for missing this one.
What movies have you watched recently? What shows are you watching?
uuuuuh latest movie i watched that i hadn’t seen before was jumanji: welcome to the jungle, which i really enjoyed, it was a lot more entertaining than i’d expected! asides from that i rewatched the first divergent movie lately, and i’ve been working my way through disney movies again (although only half-watching them because i put them on in the background when i’m writing or working on other things!).
in terms of shows, i recently decided to start watching glee which i’m quite enjoying, rewatching castle with my parents, and hoping to get back to peaky blinders, the witcher, and brooklyn 99 pretty soon!
What music are you listening to?
as usual it’s a bit of everything! but a lot of ajr, and i’ve had my big dancing playlist on most of the time since it has a bit if everything in it. and i dip into my soundtrack playlists every now and then!
What are you doing for self care?
not as much as i should have been for a start, sorting out stuff uni-wise so that i can stop stressing about that. but i’ve been working my way through some new games (mostly hzd, and i also started ac: odyssey), finally got some writing done and plenty of yelling and plotting with my friend, did some baking this afternoon, and catching up on youtube videos! we’ve also got stuff set up now so that i can practice some archery, so i’m hoping to get on with that as well as clearing enough space to practice some dancing stuff, and my mum and i are also planning to start learning sign language together through this online thing! OH and my weekly video calls/game sessions (jackbox games and zoom ftw) have literally been giving me life :’))

𝐍𝐚𝐭:
Youngest - Nat’s directorial debut is about a young girl who recently lost her father bonds with one of her older sibling's friends at a high school house party. When she experiences her first heartbreak, she takes matters into her own hands. In a private Zoom Call with some fans, Nat shared that the film itself has been affected by the current COVID-19 outbreak.
The Stand - Based on the novel written by Stephen King of the same name takes place after the mass destruction caused by the man-made virus “Captain Trips.” A false messiah emerges, possessing incredible powers and hellbent to rule the remaining human society. It’s up to a group of people to journey the post-apocalyptic wasteland to stop him and his army. The series is set to premiere December 17th on the CBS All Access platform
Mainstream - For Nat’s second feature with director Gia Coppola is this cautionary tale, three people struggle to preserve their identities as they form an eccentric love triangle within the fast-moving internet age 
Mortal - Fantasy adventure origin story about a young man discovering he had God-like powers based on Norwegian mythology. Has premiered in Norway on February 28th, has been premiered in multiple places around Asia, Russia, France, and is soon to come out in the UK on digital and Video On Demand August 3rd but a date for the US is yet to be announced
DCEU’s Red Hood - A source recently brought to light the rumor that Warner Brothers was keeping an eye out for Nat as the Red Hood. There are no more details about this and like I said it is just a rumor.
The Replacements Biopic - Directed by Josh Boone who Nat has worked with in the past on other films like Stuck in Love, The Fault in Our Stars also most recently the CBS All Acess show based of the Stephen King novel of the same name The Stand. This biopic is based on the book Trouble Boys: The True Story of the Replacements.

𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐱:
Pig - Alex’s dream role with Nic cage is about a truffle hunter who lives alone in the Oregonian wilderness must return to his past in Portland in search of his beloved foraging pig after she is kidnapped.
The Line - This yet to be filmed movie deals with the lives of university students without the fear of consequence.
AJR Documentary - A long while after a series of posts where Alex mentioned he was working as a director for a special project for AJR. During a live stream between Nat & Alex and AJR on July 26th, it is revealed that the project is a documentary.
Alex’s second directorial feature - Alex has been hitting for while that he is working on the script of his new feature whether it’s through interviews or kind of cryptic Instagram stories and posts.
Untitled M. Night Shyamalan’s Movie - There no detail about this movie other than the cast which Alex is included in,  the release date for this film, and that prior Alex teased in an interview for Enew’s the Rundown. The release date for this movie on July 23rd, 2021.

𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜:
After a long wait, Nat & Alex released their latest single Glue. The song was originally meant to come out with their other song Winter Baby but they said in a live stream on August 5th they revealed Winter Baby is indeed coming out soon as well as possibly an album but they’re more in the EP stage. A music video for their song Glue was teased in that same live and various interviews and was mentioned to come out a week after the song came out but it hasn’t come out yet and there’s is no solid word of when it’s coming out

The Naked Brothers Band Special on Netflix????:
This is in no way a confirmation that a special or reboot is indeed happening. If anything is based on speculation based on one little segment of an interview. While promoting their latest single Glue it is mentioned that Nat & Alex have been approached by Netflix about filming a special for their old Nickelodeon show. The following is a quote from when they talked with Stylecaster to promote Glue: The fervor around the series is still alive for fans as well. After the Zoom reunion, Nat and Alex were approached by Netflix for a Naked Brothers Band special, though, at the moment, the project is only a “conversation.” “There’s nothing really going on yet, but we’re always open to that,” Nat says. “It would have to be perfect.”
