GIVE LOVE - FAN INTERACTION

as much as jaesun hates the song that they’ve been asked to perform, it doesn’t mean he would ever be unprofessional enough to let the audience even get a sense of that feeling that he feels towards it. it’s why he’s throwing out hearts and cuteness throughout the performance, and while it strangely comes naturally to him, he can’t help but actually cringe inside just a little bit. 

thankfully, the song doesn’t go on forever, and soon enough, it has come to an end. now, they can move on to the things that jaesun actually enjoys doing. well, perhaps this bit has been a tiny bit tainted by all the chocolates and candies that they had been giving to one another in the company. nonetheless, he wants to greet his fans ( do they even know who he is? ) and if they’re not fans just yet, he’s determined to win them over so that once he does debut, he’ll have some people who already know who he is.

they’re at the last school of the day, and his energy is slightly spent though he does his best to keep up his energy. “thank you so much for listening to our performance today,” he greets the girls as he passes out chocolates to them. one girl stops him, asking for a picture and an autograph. “from me?” he asks, a little bit shocked by the request, though it doesn’t seem to be an uncommon request. it seems that most of the girls have been asking this of most of the group, if not all. he supposes that, if he were in their shoes, he would be doing the same. after all, who knew which one of them might be the members of the future new “dbsd”.

“don’t forget us!” he exclaims as he circles around the room, passing out the last of the chocolates. it seems silly to say those words, but he does it shamelessly anyway. after all, it’s not like he’ll see them again ( for now anyway ).

( @lgcaaron )          Aaron had to admit, he was having fun handing out chocolates to others, in fact he thought that he should do this sort of thing more often. Maybe hand out some coffee or boba tea some other time just for the heck of it? He wasn’t doing this expecting anything in return, he just wanted to try and make someone’s day whether they were having a bad day or not.

          As he walked he spotted another person who he hadn’t given chocolates to yet. Smiling he walked up to the other male and held out the small bag. “Hey, I was handing out some chocolate to people and thought I’d give you some as well. I hope you enjoy them!” He then turns and begins walking yet again to find another person. This day was turning out to be quite enjoyable after all.

( @lgcyumika ) the instructions weren’t as clear as they should have been. to someone who wasn’t her, it all probably made a lot of sense. yumika stored the extra bags inside her bag and waltzed around the building holding the third one in her hand. the memo that it should all be kept a secret entered one ear and went right out the other. the girl understood what she could: these weren’t for her and she had to give them to someone else! “good morning, sunbae!” she gets closer with a big smile and extends her arm towards the other trainee. “this is… for you! to eat!” the chocolate bag sits on the top of her palms for anyone to see. she continues unaware of the danger she’s in. “this is chocolate! for valentine’s day!”

( @lgcluccas ) he’s unsure why this makes him nervous, but the butterflies in his stomach make him giggle. his arms cross his entire torso. they’re supposed not to be caught, but luccas bets he’s not the only one walking like a penguin all around the company building. he just has six bags now that he needs to hand out and having so many all together isn’t the best plan. at some point, he won’t need to use his long arms like some sort of protective barrier, but now is not the time. his eyes spot the next trainee in the area and hurries on over, bouncing in a funny way. “excuse me, sunbae!” the boy tries not to sound too suspicious, but his eyes are shaking towards whoever looks at him for more than a moment. “i hope you can take this!” in one quick and awkward movement, luccas takes out one of the chocolate bags from his hoodie and offers it to the other. “it’s a gift for your hard work! it’ll help improving even more!"

( @lgcyura )     yura wasn’t really the type to part take in valentine’s activities or get caught up in the excitement leading up to it seeing as she didn’t really have an interest in the so-called special day. she was okay with the secret gift giving though because at least with those, there didn’t have to be any romantic feelings attached. she could just give it to her friends and so be it.

     she spots jaesun easily and wastes no time in approaching him. they haven’t talked much but she has seen him around a lot considering he’s one of the longer trainees and they both had the morning schedule too so she likes to think they’re familiar with each other at least. then, making sure there’s no staff lurking, she holds out one of the bags of candies. “i hope you’re not tired of these yet! if you are though, pretend like this never happened and do whatever you like with them.” she grins and gives a quick wave before walking away.

( @lgcjueun )     although jueun did not personally care for valentine’s day–in recent years, anyways–she did like the the tradition that’s been passed around trainees and participated every year. valentine’s wasn’t necessarily only about romantic feelings now; you could also use it to give chocolates to family and friends to express your gratitude or appreciation for them which is what jueun chose to focus on as she prepared the little gifts. although the chocolates and candies were already given to her in bags, she wanted to personalize them a little so she used a pink ribbon to tie them up instead and added a coupon inside for her family’s cafe.

     then, she set out on delivering the gifts. depending on the person and how well she knew them, she realized she would have to hand them off in different ways. at some point, she just starts giving them out to random people she encounters so when she spots jaesun, she walks up to him without another thought even though they haven’t really talked much. “i hope you’re not tired of getting these yet,” she says in a teasing tone as she holds out one of the bags of candy. she knows how popular jaesun is so she assumed he must’ve received a lot of sweets already but unfortunately for him, they happened to cross paths so he unknowingly became another victim in jueun’s quest to spread positive energy. “but here you go! if you have too much already, you can just give these to someone else!”

jaesun chuckles as another bag of candies is handed his way. he wonders if his siblings would tease him with how much candy he’s received during this season, or if they’ve equally received as many as he had. frankly, he wouldn’t be surprised if they had as well. he doesn’t know jueun well, but they’ve certainly interacted before. he bows his head politely at the other. “thank you so much!” he notes, “i wouldn’t dare give these to anyone else. i’ll eat them well. thank you again!” he exclaims with a smile.

( @lgcsol ) this reminds him too much of the days spent in the corridors of the private school, distant chatters echoing from afar as the students scattered in the premise during the valentine’s day. some of them would sneak into the locker rooms to sneak some high-end chocolates wrapped in various colored papers into their friends and crushes’ lockers. the traditions live on up until today, with annual repetitions, reminiscent of those days. when hansol received the candies and chocolates this time, he ensures that he adds more to them. after all, everyone deserves a bit of extra love, especially on these occasions. he wraps the provided candies and chocolates together after purchasing some more, each bundle enclosed in yellow tulle fabrics to indicate the sender. he’s definitely not beyond leaving a pikachu sticker at the bottom of every card tied around with the sweets, and this one reads: “happy pikachu day! well, no, happy valentine’s day this time, but every day is a pikachu day for me, but today it comes with sweets. greetings, jaesun! and i hope you will enjoy these sweets, something small to cheer up your days. training has always been hard for many, so let’s enjoy it together! also this should be given while we’re in training for the performance, so let’s pretend i was being stealthy, alright? anyway, i’m pretty sure that training under your team will be fun, and we’ll be working hard together in the meantime, but don’t forget to stay healthy and happy!”

jaesun is surprised to find a little yellow bundle ( well, is he really all that surprised with how much candy he’s been getting lately? ) and a cute pikachu sticker at the bottom of the card. he can’t help but laugh a little at the words on the card as well. “cute,” he murmurs, making a mental note to thank the other later when he sees him.

( @lgcharu )          for someone as shy on the first meeting or with people he didn’t know as haru was, this appreciation month tradition he was informed about seemed like a high wall for him to overcome. he knows he didn’t have to participate but with valentine’s and eventually white day coming up, he thought why not? the year so far seemed to be one of trying new things that he probably never would have done otherwise and he should at least try before writing the entire thing off anyways.

         now that he had warmed up a little from handing out sweets to a few other people though, haru doesn’t feel as shy or apprehensive about approaching others like he did earlier. he was still a bit nervous going up to people he hasn’t really talked to or even met before but thankfully, he comes across jaesun and while they haven’t talked much, he knows the older is generally nice and welcoming so he feels a bit more at ease walking up to him. “this might be out of the blue but here you go,” he starts off as he holds the bag out. “you’ve probably received a lot of these already but i’ve always thought you were cool so i hope we can talk more or something!” he doesn’t wait for an answer though, already bowing and leaving just as quickly as he had approached him.

jaesun sees the younger approach him, and there’s only one thought that comes to mind -- candies. he’s thankful that so many people have been so kind to give him some, but man, his pants are starting to feel the effects of having a few too many bags of candies. just as expected, the other starts to mention giving him something out of the blue, and he can only smile as the bag is held out. he smiles at the words the other says, and unfortunately, the other is too quick that he doesn’t even get a chance to say anything before he’s already gone. “thank you!” he shouts at him, “talk again soon,” he mumbles to himself as he puts the candies in his pocket.

( @lgcmax ) for max to be asked to keep something secret, he sure was doing a lot just to deliver some candy. but the thrill excited him, and he couldn’t wait for his first stop on his list - who was he supposed to do first, again?

“jaesun!” he exclaims aloud, just as he spots the other leaving the studio. the two had different training groups, but followed the same schedule, so it was fairly easy to track the older down. shuffling over, he subtly reveals a plush bear he’d been concealing, with a grin on his face.“i was hoping i’d catch you before you went home, i have a surprise!” he instinctively reverts to hushed english as he speaks, a sign of his nerves that he’d get caught. he really didn’t need to make any more trouble than he usually did.

“happy valentine’s day! i heard you like chocolates, right? check this out.” evidently impressed with himself, he flips the bear around and taps on a velcro pouch in the back. “what if i told you this bear's stuffed with candy? don’t check until you get to the dorms, but i took all the stuffing out and replaced it with chocolates!” his smile mimics that of a child, and he finally hands the bear over, dramatically watching his surroundings. he prepares to walk away, but before he does, turns to face the other.

“just…don’t tell anyone you think would tell, yeah? can’t have tradition ruined ‘cause of some snitches, right?” and with that, he waves goodbye, and in a moment, he’s gone.

jaesun isn’t expecting any guests after he’s finishing up his practicing, so to hear someone call for him surprises him. he looks up and gives a “hey!” shout to the other. suddenly, a plush bear is being held out towards him. “oh!” he chuckles, surprised that this is being offered to him. “thank you,” he exclaims, and when the other tells him to check something out, he watches intently.

there’s a velcro pouch in the back, and jaesun can only laugh a little more when it’s being explained as to what is going on. some people really did go to great lengths to conceal their chocolates. maybe he had been too simple about it all. “of course i wouldn’t dare,” he nods his head, thanking him once more and watches as the other goes off.

( @lgcahyeon​ ) there were more people ahyeon wanted to show her appreciation too one of them was– ahn jaesun, when she ha been on his vlive show he had been incredibly patient and she figured why not show him some appreciation, even if he seemed to be one of the more valued trainees in legacy– but she couln’t blame them he would be the perfect idol.

ahyeon found him with a surprising ease and when she spotted him she walked towards him with a small smile– a genuine one, “jaesun ssi,” she said formally– because she wasn’t sure if they were close enough for her to call him oppa, “here have this, thank you for taking care of me on your show. it was a pleasure.”

jaesun is surprised to hear his name sound and he looks up to find ahyeon walking towards him. he sees the small bag of candies, and he’s not surprised, seeing as he’s been receiving many of these lately. “thank you so much. you’re very welcome. i hope you had a good time,” he notes, smiling warmly as he bows his head politely towards the other. “thank you again. i’ll eat it well,” he tells her before he slips away to get back to practicing.

( @lgcshinha​ ) February was the month of romance and couples. For Legacy, however, it was the month of appreciation. The task of handing out bags of sweets without getting caught was thrilling for Yoon Shinha. He adored making people happy and seeing them smile so it was the perfect event for him. It was also a fun way for him to meet new people.

Shinha spied an unsuspecting Jaesun while he was walking between classes. He hummed as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small bag. Smiling brightly, Shinha placed a bag of chocolate in Jaesun’s pocket before he walked off happily. Inside was a handwritten note.

jaesun feels something touch him but he’s too in his own world to pay any attention ( thank goodness it hadn’t been a pickpocket or something ). once he arrives to his destination, he finds a bag of chocolates in his pocket. “oh,” he chuckles to himself as he opens it up and begins to devour it little by little.

( @lgcxking ) having to hide from the staff to give these is probably the most idiotic tradition trainees ever came up with. he’s glad he’s not the one in charge of it, but of course they know by now what he thinks of it. still, as his own effort to be part of the group, king once again accepts to receive his ten bags of sweets. he even intends to give them away this year, when in the past he usually pretended he did it and ate them instead. it seemed a better option than to ‘give love’ to those around him. but maybe he’s changed a bit this past year. maybe he’s tired of being outside of the group looking in.

jaesun is pretty easy to approach. they often train together, whether for future dreams or just general workshops. they’re not exactly best friends, nor is there any animosity between them. but there’s still a sense of rivality always present. but this month is about appreciation, and king does appreciate jaesun. in fact, he respects him a lot. if there’s anyone aside from himself that king wishes will do well, it’s jaesun. “hey, so um… there you go.” there’s no need to get all emotional. he gives him the bag of candy. “maybe it’s not your case but i do hope we debut together. still need to work on my social skills though,” king laughs. “promise i’ll get there. maybe?”

jaesun wipes the sweat off his forehead as the practice came to an end. he wishes to just fall to the ground, letting his back touch the wood floors, but he doesn’t. he watches as king suddenly approaches him, a bag of candy in hand. he hears the other mention debuting together and he nods his head. he wonders why the other would think that he would have any other opinions about this. after all, they’re two of the longest running trainees, their skills quite complementary towards one another. is it really possible that they won’t debut together?

“well, i can help you with that,” he jokes. “but for today, i’ll enjoy the candy, hm?” he looks to the other and thanks him once again. “you take care of yourself now,” he adds, saluting the other before he disappears to get changed out of his sweaty clothes.

( @lgcminjun ) Minjun was pretty excited for the event, more so than he thought he would be. Maybe he was just happy with the idea of giving gifts, creating a fun atmosphere for everyone within the company. He loved seeing genuine smiles on people’s faces, more so if he had something to do with it. The only problem he faced was not getting caught. It was difficult trying to mask his excitement with distributing candies, but he managed so far! Somehow.

Though the idea of giving something to someone he barely knew was a little bit intimidating, Minjun thought it was a good idea to expand his network and build up more connections. What better way to do that than with sweets?! Running up to someone random - a senior he would often pass by but didn’t speak to - he handed him a box of chocolates with a cute badtz-maru sticker on it. “Hi, hyung! This is for you.”

Not forgetting to bow out of respect, he ran off to his next target.

jaesun has been lost in his own world today, thinking about all the practice that he needs to get done. sometimes, these things happen where he’s just wandering down the hall mindlessly. sometimes, he doesn’t even hear people calling him, so it’s a wonder that he actually looks up when he hears a voice. honestly, the call might not have even been for him, but he decides to react anyway, and he’s glad that he did.

“oh, thank you!” he finds another box of chocolates in his hands as he bows in return to the other, watching as he disappears as quickly as he appears.

( @lgcjaesun ) there’s more life to his smile when he greets jaesun. he’s got the last few treat bags and he’s finally to nearly be done with the task. tugging out the small bag of treats, he chances a glance around before handing over the treats. it probably looks silly (it certainly feels silly), but he doesn’t let the smile falter. “treat yourself after training, sunbae.” he says after a greeting, a small smile on his face as he hands over the sweets. he rocks on his heels after, shoving his hands into his pockets as he nods towards them, stepping back to continue on his way.

as much as he’s loving all the sweets that he’s receiving, he’s starting to think that maybe he needs to pack some away and bring them home to his family when he visits. there’s no way he should be eating all this ( though, honestly, he has been, which hasn’t been great ). nonetheless, it’s rude to turn someone down, and the sweets have been delicious.

there’s another one that’s being handed to him, and he smiles as he accepts it graciously. “thank you,” he nods his head. “i will do so,” he exclaims, bowing politely at the other as the other continues on his way.

( @lgcjiho )   of course he needs to return the favour once he’s received chocolates from his hyung, and jiho grins to himself as he tries to figure out a way to get the other back. so in true lee jiho fashion, he decides to reverse the situation that he had found himself in earlier once he has his own nicely package bag of chocolate for his cousin. he finds the older in the cafeteria a few days after, and slides into the seat across from him. 

     “these aren’t the same ones you gave me, i swear,” he says with a smile, eyes bright. they really weren’t—he had eaten the ones that jaesun had given him the same day he had received them, since his sweet tooth reigned supreme in most of his endeavors. “enjoy, hyung,” he winks, before slinking away to go back to practice.

jaesun is thankful for the break from practice and really decides to just ... relax at lunch today. despite being an extrovert, practice had been really exhausting him, and it was nice to just have a moment for himself. however, the moment is short-lived and soon enough, his cousin is sliding into the seat opposite him.

he looks down when a bag of chocolate is slid towards him and chuckles at the statement that the other gives. “i don’t believe you!” he jokes, “thanks!” he watches as the other disappears, and he turns back to his lunch, making a mental note to enjoy a few of these as dessert today.

( @lgcxcharlie ) charlie still keeps the chocolates and candies in her guitar case as she continues to walk in the company. she tries to find other familiar faces, ones she wouldn’t be too embarrassed to walk up to give a little something for the season. and of course, her eyes land on jaesun who’s standing just a few feet away. she takes a deep breath, before catching up to him.

she takes one more chocolate from her guitar case, calling out to him, “hey, um… jaesun?” she walks up to him, looking left and right before handing him the chocolate, “don’t get caught with that, okay? enjoy!” she bows and waves as she walks away.

it’s nice that the female is no longer so frightened by his presence. a smile rests on his face when he turns and sees her. “hey,” he notes, about to ask how she’s doing when she’s looking around hesitantly. did he do something else wrong? he wonders, but then chocolate is being held out to him.

“thank you,” he quickly adds before she’s disappearing already. he tucks the chocolate away into his pocket, making a mental note to not forget to eat it and have it melt away in his pocket.
