Not necessarily a direct quote of Deidara but it’s definitely how I view his character. Deidara has been my favorite since his introduction so I think it’s about time to finally draw him again.

Sleep In (Deidara x Reader)

Deidara groggily opened his eyes to the sight of your bare back. He smiled. Even if he couldn't see your face, you were the most beautiful thing in this world and he was fairly confident the next world too. Your left arm was tucked under your body whilst your right was cuddling the corner of the covers. Deidara was conscientious as he reached out his hand. Softly, he ran his fingers up your spine until he reaches your neck. His fingertips brushed through your hair as his fingers moved with the curve of your back to your neck. He was careful not to wake you, not because he was worried you'd be angry that he woke you. That was actually far from his mind. It was more that he wanted to the moment to never end. Having you so relaxed, peaceful and safe beside him. Deidara ran his fingers back down your spine and lingered between your shoulder blades. A soft exhale escaped you as you stirred. "Dei...?" You mumbled, too tired to even so much as roll over. "Hey, hun." Deidara took the opportunity to close the gap between you both and cuddled into your back. 

You felt soft kisses being planted up in the tip of your spine as his arms wound around your body. "Go back to sleep." You mumbled something about the time. Deidara replied "It's around eight."  You let out a tired groan. "I gotta get up." "No, you don't." Deidara said quietly, as he tightened his hold on you. "You need to stay here with me." You shook your head barely managing out a protest. You sat up, aiming to get out of bed only to have two muscular arms wind around you and pull you back down. "I'm not finished loving you!" He said loudly.  You couldn't help but giggle at that. Unexpectedly, Deidara rolled onto you, almost crushing you to the bed, face down. "Uh, that is cheating!" You managed out. "No, it's not." He said quietly. "So you plan to smother me to death?" You asked. "Nah, just block your air way long enough that you'll give in." Deidara smiled when he felt you laugh underneath him.
