                                 everything is transparent...”

In a land far away, there exists a kingdom called Neverafter. Protected by an impenetrable orb of magic, it is an island that breathes, nourishes, and isolates its residents like a selfish lover. Stuck in an eternal winter, some call it a p r i s o n... and some say it’s the only paradise left on Earth. Ruled since the beginning of time by The Royal Court, Neverafter is an island deeply entrenched in its own inescapable political history. The poor have remained poor, while the rich only grow more bountiful year by year. Civil unrest has begun to burrow its way into the hearts of the kingdom’s subjects, and like a d i s e a s e, has begun to spread from the center of the kingdom to its outermost corners.

           “...and there is no place to hide a dark heart.”    

But all good things must come to an end… and while those in the royal court have kept their blinds drawn to keep the poor out, the revolution has already begun. As soon as one leaves the castle, a trail of scarlet red hands painted onto the trees leading into the center of town mark the way. Signposts, door fronts, and windows… all marked with a scarlet red handprint.

They say a revolution is coming.

Little do they know it’s already begun.

How did you stumble upon AKC? → I believe I just saw the teaser for it on my dash, and of course had to go check it out.

Which character[s] are you most excited to see? → I love Red, but i’m also really looking forward to seeing Briar Rose and maybe a few others.

Which side would you choose if you were a resident of Neverafter… The Crown or The Scarlet Hand? → Probably the Scarlet Hand. Got to love a good revolution. 

What is your favorite fairytale of all time? → Yikes, there’s so many good ones. Maybe Red Riding Hood?

If you could possess a magical object that did any one thing… what would it be? Would it give you with any special abilities? → I’d probably want that invisibility cloak from Harry Potter because there’s just some days when you dont want to be seen.

How long do you think you would last in Neverafter’s perpetual winter? Listen, I say I like the cold, but I also live in Texas. My heart says i’d survive a while but my head says i’d be gone fairly early on.

Which character[s] are you most excited to see? → OH GOD. Uhm. Cinderella, Snow White, and probably Gretel because I am a sucker for sibling feels. 

Which side would you choose if you were a resident of Neverafter… The Crown or The Scarlet Hand? → Scarlet Hand. Though probably more toward the neutral edge of things because...revolutions are a lot of work fam. And I have trouble breaking rules. It literally gives me hives. 

What is your favorite fairytale of all time? → Probably Cinderella - I literally broke the VHS tape I watched it so often as a kid. But also Sleeping Beauty because I could use a good long nap

If you could possess a magical object that did any one thing… what would it be? Would it give you with any special abilities? →  So, when I was a kid I had a doll who's hair would like, change colors in different temperatures and you could wind her arm and make it grow or shorten. I want to be able to do that -- just change my hair color, length, style to reflect my mood. Not super useful, perhaps, but way fun 

How long do you think you would last in Neverafter’s perpetual winter? Approximately 2 seconds. I love the idea of snow and winter but the reality is...rough.

How did you stumble upon AKC? → The ‘lsrpg’ tag. Plus, someone on my dash reblogged the promo and now I’m weak for all things AKC.

Which character[s] are you most excited to see? → Red! Hands down – this woman has stolen my heart entirely. I’m so excited to see the rest of her connections posted because I’m so in love with her and The Scarlet Hand.

Which side would you choose if you were a resident of Neverafter… The Crown or The Scarlet Hand? → The Scarlet Hand! I’m still exploring all the pages of information, but I can’t see myself being swayed to The Crown for any reason. 

What is your favorite fairytale of all time? → I’m trash for Peter Pan. Clearly classified as a fairytale in my mind, so fight me! But boy never wanted to grow old... same tho. Big mood!

If you could possess a magical object that did any one thing… what would it be? Would it give you with any special abilities? → Oh, this is a good question... I’m not entirely sure of just one object or even any for that matter. *cue lack of coffee montage* Does Aladdin’s magical carpet count? Imagine flying around in style. 

How long do you think you would last in Neverafter’s perpetual winter? → I am not a fan of the cold at all, but I think if I had the option of staying inside the whole time by a warm fire I’d be good. Otherwise, I wouldn’t last longer than a few days because girl cannot handle the cold.

Which character[s] are you most excited to see? → I feel that I cannot in good faith answer this, but I’m excited for everyone to see every single one of the characters. They’re all precious works of art.

Which side would you choose if you were a resident of Neverafter… The Crown or The Scarlet Hand? → I’d like to think the Scarlet Hand but I’m a bougie bitch so... probably The Crown. Minus oppressing the poor people. That’s not cool. It’s really interesting to see how the dynamic works though because they don’t directly see themselves as the villains and they truly believe they’re doing right by the kingdom by protecting their people from themselves, so it sort of goes back and forth and I really just can’t wait to explore the dynamic more.

What is your favorite fairytale of all time? → Sleeping beauty has always been a favorite of mine.

If you could possess a magical object that did any one thing… what would it be? Would it give you with any special abilities? → A mirror that allows me to change my appearance at will.

Ella’s Drabbles: 2/? Madison Odette Marsielle was born in the middle of the night, quiet as a door mouse. As a little bundle of rosy skin and tuffs of brown hair was placed into her arms, Ella finally understood what magic felt like. There was no magic item greater in the whole of the kingdom than the perfect babe that lay against her chest. Madi, as she’d quickly taken to being called by everyone, was named lovingly after her maternal grandfather, the late Lord Madison Tremaine, and held all the kindness and grace that he had. At five-years-old, the little girl smiled at everyone she met, spoke to the animals as if they understood her,  twirled around in her dresses as if she were dancing at a ball, and strutted around in her mother’s too large slippers, always falling out of them.  As Ella watched her baby sing and dance everywhere she went, she saw the girl she’d almost been, the girl she may have turned into had her parents still been alive. She would make sure Madi would never know that struggle.

Ella’s Drabbles: 1/? Cinderella was a name that Ella's father had always convinced her that she should be proud of. of the ashes he said, you will rise from what has burned you. It was as if, even when she was born and still held smiles as she caught snowflakes on her tongue, her father had seen the hidden fire inside of her. It wasn't until Gretchen, that evil step-mother of her's, came along that the name was soured on her lips. Cinder-wench she would call her, when Ella came home from all her work, when she slaved away for the step-family that hated her, covered in dust and dirt. You ugly cinder girl. She was only Ella after that. It wasn't until Robin brought her to the Scarlet Hand, showing her what she still could do, that she took back what was rightfully hers. To the people in the town, to her friends and those she calls her family, she will always be their Ella. But they were not to forget who she was, what she was made from. She went through hell from her step-mother, experienced the pain of loss and isolation. She'd been burned alive too many times to count. You will rise from what has burned you. As she looked the red queen in the eye for the first time, she saw the same spark that had met her in the mirror every morning of ger life. My friends call me Ella, but you can call me Cinder.

They are the revolutionaries, the vision seekers, the ones who swore their allegiance to the people rather than their own oppressive government. Their actions speak louder than their words, for their words have been silenced through the mandate of the Royal Court. They say the longer your voice is suppressed, the more likely you are to choke on the inequality of the land. They are an army painted in red, of whom you will never remember, yet a group you could never forget. A million parts masquerading as one moving body, they fall into line behind their queen. Who are they? They are the invisible, the downtrodden, the f o r g o t t e n… a scourge upon the otherwise “untainted” Kingdom of Neverafter. To be caught in cohorts means certain death– though those who are members will often tell you,“…but dear, that’s entirely the fun of it.”
