Do you have favorite blogs? I was thinking about how you’re one of my favorite blogs and when I come on I love seeing posts from you on my dash and wondered if you had that too!

I do! My best friend is on tumblr and my online friend of 12 years who I got to meet for my wedding. Outside of that, I think @compassionatereminders is that blog for me. Outside of my two actual friends on tumblr, hers is the only blog I back read to catch up on. I’ve always loved her posts and the messages she shares. And she just overall seems like a wonderful person.

I also really love @akindplace and @thelatestkate and @sunshineandkindness. Their posts are always a light on my dash!

I loved positiveautistic and I’m sad they disappeared and I hope they’re okay!

There are a lot of wonderful blogs I follow though for sure!

Ofc I don't mind asks :) I don't follow too many blog cause this is a secondary blog and it's kinda complicated how I move through my main and my secondary ones so... yeah I end up having a mess of random following. Anyway, these are some of the ones I follow and appreciate the most. Ofc if anyone else wants to add more, please do that! I also tend to reblog anytime I bump into a good post, so maybe it can help you find more sources too.

It's my birthday! I'm 25!

I always kinda struggled with birthdays. As an anxious kid, I was constantly worried about 'running out of time'. And as a disabled adult, birthdays only kinda served as a reminder of the future I'd hoped for before I got sick.

But this year feels different. I feel much more at peace, and able to be much more gentle with myself. And I think part of that comes from changing the stuff I look at. I think it's been really good for me this past year to spend time on here, seeing lots of genuine, real positivity (and cute birds of course!)

I only really reblog birds on here, but positivity stuff is important to me too! So for anyone looking for positivity blog recommendations, here's a few I really love:

Remember that you should enjoy taking care of yourself. And I mean it in a sense that it might be hard but that you are worth it, just like the other people you care for in your life. You are no exception to receiving the same love, support, and understanding that you give to others. Remember to pour some of all of that kindness to yourself.

Think about how you would treat a friend and try applying that to you. It is not easy at first, but you can teach your brain to remind itself that you are worthy of good things whenever you see yourself denying your basic needs and going in the direction of self-destructive habits. It might help you think twice and choose a more neutral way to care for yourself - maybe you don't love yourself yet, but you start to realize you are not an exception to kindness, comfort, contentment. You deserve it.

And maybe then one day you can love yourself, but for now, being neutral - feeling just okay with who you are - is enough. It's more than enough if it helps you go on and take care of your needs without feeling like it's not realistic to do so because you have trouble with self-love.

my hp trans fest 2022 faves

canon-adherent--canon-plausible--fics are my thing in general -- ones in which writers take key canon events and details and use them as a jumping-off point around which to weave their own narratives. there's something about that that feels very satisfying, reclaiming almost, especially from the angle of trans fest. anyway -

Lay down your armour (be with me forever) by @bluesundaycake (E, 21k, severus snape/remus lupin) [rb the author's tumblr post!]. A story told over a decade of encounters, where a body feels like a graveyard and another like a battlefield, and names are whispered tenderly until they feel real.

a canon-compliant snupin from the hogwarts-era period through to first war. fantastic severus characterization, what a gorgeously bittersweet romance. an absolute masterclass in first-person POV, made me feel so many feelings.

Instead, he was jostled in a bone-crushing hug, sloshing hot-but-not-scalding cocoa on the blanket in the suddenness. Sirius buried his head into his shoulder and held him so tightly Remus thought he might snap in half. Remus's cheeks were wet and, embarrassed, he realized he was crying. He hadn't expected such a response from Sirius, who was usually joking or brooding, never something so gentle, so sincere.
