Akishinji to me feels like being in love with your best friend in middle school, finally admitting those feelings in your first year at highschool, never feeling so right before everything is wrong again. He disappears afterwards and doesn't even say goodbye, or say your over. Even when you find him, he's distant. Of course he would be, he believes he's a murderer, that he'll hurt anyone that comes too close. You wish he'd come back home with you and ask for your help but he doesn't.
You're stubborn so you keep coming back but he's equally stubborn so he continues you push you away. You're both stuck in this cycle, neither of you want to give in to what the other says so there's not much you can do. You both don't mention what you ha(d)ve, it never comes up. You both stay like this, no new teammate enticing him back until him.
He's still plagued with gulit, he knows this won't help him but the least he can do is protect the kid he unintentionally orphaned. And all of a sudden, you have him back. And it's like he never left. Sure, there is some awkwardness, some things left unsaid between you, he still has problems problems you don't even know about at first and he refuses to elaborate on them but you don't care too much for now. You have him back and you won't lose him again. You can't lose him again.
But the universe isn't kind, you've known this for a long time yet you keep standing strong, you can't falter because then everyone else will.
But he slips away, and you crumble.

[[DAY 2 - Emperor and Hierophant//Moon and Star]]
Antinous was a young man who was adored by Emperor Hadrian even after his untimely death, worshiped and even Deified by the mourning emperor.
So there are layers to this drawing. I knew I wanted to pull from Greco-Roman pieces for Akihiko considering his arcana and Ultimate persona. However, Caesar doesn’t fit the bill in a lot of ways for Akihiko. However, thinking harder on the Roman aspect, I remembered one person from my Latin classes: Emperor Hadrian. Hadrian had loved Antinous and his untimely passing had a drastic impact on him. Akihiko is wearing garb similar to a lot of garb Hadrian is depicted in, and while Shinjiro takes the robes and hat from the Hierophant tarot card, the laurel of grapes is sometimes depicted in art of Antinous.
Hopefully I can get more time to sit and do these, so if these bleed past AkiShinji week… it just kinda happened.

“Have any of you seen Shinjiro-senpai? I’m a little worried about him.”
Fuuka adjusted her posture in the armchair, laptop poised on her knees.
Akihiko looked up from his book. It had been about a week since Shinji came back from the hospital after that encounter with Takaya. Somehow, Shinji had survived the two bullet wounds, and held on just long enough to be transferred into the hospital’s care. It was late October now- Shinji’s recovery had been long and the healing process extensive.
Akihiko was honestly just glad his best friend was still alive.
“He’s probably sleeping. He’s been doing that a lot,” Makoto said from his place on the sofa. He was stretched out, his legs draped over Yukari’s and his head in Junpei’s lap.
Those three had an odd relationship, Akihiko had decided back in June. But it was nice to see Makoto being unafraid of affection. When the kid had first arrived, from what Mitsu had told him, Makoto had been quiet, reserved. Almost cold to everyone. But as the months passed, he seemed more open. Especially to Yukari and Junpei.
“I’ll go check on him, just to be sure,” Akihiko volunteered, getting up from his seat. He put his book on the armchair, and went upstairs to Shinji’s room.
It was dark and quiet in Shinji’s room, though the CD player was playing music faintly.
“Shinji?” Akihiko called quietly into the darkness. “You awake?”
There was the sound of rustling sheets, and another voice murmured. “I am now.”
Akihiko winced, guilt panging at his gut. “Just checking on you. How’re you feeling?”
He left the entryway of the room, shutting the door behind him and sitting on the floor near Shinji’s head.
In the dim light, Akihiko could faintly make out Shinji's face. His eyes had dark circles, and he looked pale.
“Tired. Hungry, but too sore to get up,” was the short response. Classic Shinji.
“Is there anything you want to eat? I can grab it from downstairs if you want,” Akihiko offered, but Shinji shook his head.
“Nah, it ain’t too bad right now. Besides, you’re keepin’ me in bed.”
“What do you mean?” Akihiko asked, and Shinji rolled his eyes.
“I mean, if you leave I’m following you.”
Akihiko bristled. “No the hell you are not!” He said, and Shinji had the gall to grin.
“Guess you better stay in here, then, Aki,” Shinji said with a smile, and Akihiko sighed, feeling a smile of his own dawn on his face.
“Scoot over, then,” he ordered lightheartedly, and Shinji did, lifting the covers as best he could. Akihiko crawled under them, gingerly wrapping his arms around his friend.
Shinji hugged him close, and Akihiko noted the faint tremble in his arms.
“...I love you,” Shinji muttered, his eyes closed. “I don’t plan on leaving again anytime soon, okay...?”
Akihiko nodded, fighting back the urge to cry, to kiss him, to hold him and never let go. He simply allowed himself to be held instead, here in darkness and love.
“I love you too, Shinji. I’m not leaving either. We can stick around for a while together,” he said after a beat of silence.
“...Yeah. Together. This is how it’s supposed to be.”

My notes: the summary isn’t all too descriptive, so here we go: Shinjiro lives a nice and steady life about 3 years after the defeat of nyx. Akihiko is the polar opposite. Both of them are written perfectly and I absolutely adore how the author doesn’t write Aki as “mr perfect”. There are so many one liners that have stuck with me in this fic. On a separate but somewhat related note, every word Ken says in this fic is actual comedic gold and his dynamic with Shinjiro feels more natural than ever.

My notes: So there are some author’s notes abt how exactly this takes place and I think they explain it the best at the beginning of the fic. In a nutshell: after the events of p3, Aki and shinji date and separate not long after bcs of a difference of philosophies. Just the normal issues, yk.

Summary (condensed): “Akihiko didn’t move. He didn’t even get back to his feet. Instead, he lay back and stared at the dark sky. There were too many city lights to make out any stars, but that was okay. The point wasn’t to see the stars. The point was to lie there. So, that’s what he did. He lay in silence, surrounded by the night. Soon enough, he felt the presence of another body lay down beside him. He turned his head to see Shinjiro. Huh. Akihiko figured the brunette had long since walked away from him. Guess he was wrong.”

My notes: you can’t really tell by the summary, but this fic is a Groundhog Day-esc fic (my weakness) where Akihiko is stuck in a month-long loop that spans the duration of Shinjiro’s re-joining of SEES and subsequent death shortly after. Every time Shinji dies, the loop is reset and Aki goes back to square one. This fic absolutely nails down their banter to a T and is very satisfying to read, even after the millionth time.

Shinjiro goes along with it, because they've always been a package deal. Somehow, Mitsuru gets roped into that and gets an elbow to her face as a reward. The rest is a wild ride from there.

Well, as for how many there are... um.... uhhhhh... 😅
Many. Very, very many.
Buuut here are a couple of the standouts that I've been working on recently: I'm working on a couple prompt fics, including a Hamugis sickfic, a Yukamitsu-Hamugis fluffy double date, a late fill for Akishinji week, and one that I'm particularly excited about rn: a ShinjiMina fic where Shinjiro never left SEES and ends up trying to help Minato evacuate during the Magician Arcana's attack instead of Yukari.
18. Do you title your fics before, during, or after the writing process? How do you come up with titles?
I answered this one just now, and the answer is that I don't think of fic titles until the VERY last minute, lmao. But one thing I didn't mention last time is that I also often take titles from song lyrics, but usually by just opening up whatever playlist I was listening to while writing the fic and going over every song inside with a fine-toothed comb looking for solid titles in the lyrics lmaoooo

2. How easy is it for your character to laugh?
Although they have different senses of humor, he laughs just about as easily as Yukiko!
4. How easy is it to earn their trust?
It's not hard! Be nice to him for about a week and you're golden. All the Phantom Thieves has to do though was save him from Nakada and he instantly trusted them.
18. What embarrasses them?
Not wearing a shirt embarrasses him (he wears a tank top when swimming).
B. What inspired you to create them?
I got the urge to make a phantom thief oc after holding off on it for so long while looking at other people's persona ocs! Not exactly sure why the idea to make him an Akishinji kid popped into my head initially though.
H. What trait do you admire most?
The fact that he's not afraid to let people know if he's upset with them.

who wants to hear about my akishinji fic concept cuz idk if i’ll ever write it !!!!
if somebody has written something like this pls don’t tell me i will cry probably. this idea has been festering in my head for weeks !!!
ok so we all know akihiko persona evolves after shinjis death. but what if shinji doesn’t die, he just gets hospitalized.
when aki works up the courage to go visit shinji in the hospital, they have a heart to heart moment. aki sitting beside shinjis hospital bed, shinji talking about how he’s too tired and useless to fight now.
aki disagrees and tells shinji they can’t lose a strong fighter like him- they start to argue but shinji is obviously heavily injured so he just. stops and laughs. “same ol aki” type shit
then their personas fuse, shinji basically “gives” his power to aki. this in turn causes polydeuces to evolve to caeser
