so I just recently finished watching Fruits Basket (2019 ver) and did anyone else feel kinda weirded out by how fast some of the relationships happened?

like with Yuki and Machi. I thought they were super cute but I also felt like their relationship happened so quickly? Machi showed up pretty far through the story and we didn't really see much of Yuki realizing his feelings.

similarly, Akito and Shigure. like, I thought that happened so suddenly? and it didn't make much sense to me. when they started talking about how they loved each other, I kinda just sat there like "what?"

and I'm not saying that these ships shouldn't have happened, but they just seemed fast to me.

At first she was stunned to see you cry out of no where.

She didn't remember doing any harmful things to you since you knew well how to behave in front of her and the thought of getting beaten by akito is clearly not a joke.

Will ask what has gotten you to be this pathetic.

Will start to get irritated by how stubborn you're since you didn't want to tell her anything.

Will ask nicely for the second time to get an answer but if you still resist then be ready to make her force the shit outta you.

Once you told her that your friend betrayed you and started spreading numerous rumors about you, akito went silent for a moment.

She would reassured you that everything is going to be alright as long as you stayed beside her.

She then lean close and say...

"What happened to you? You look awfully pathetic today. Care to explain? Or should I make you say it?" She soon stood up walking towards you with a dark aura around her. You felt scared that she might hit you or do something more vile then this but she just hold your hand as she Stroke it gently where you have a bruise that you tried to hide from her.

"I'll ask again... What happened? If you don't answer then don't expect mercy from me." She warned which made you scared as you tell her the whole story that she find it stupid that you actually fell for it.

"This is why I tell you to never get far away from me. I'm the only person you can rely on and now look at the results of your selfish actions. Still want to leave me like you did last time?"

Shigure headed for the garden, wondering how Akito felt. Today marks a year since the curse was broken. The end of the curse had been difficult for all of them and especially for Akito. She had never been confronted with the outside world. No one had taught her to be anything other than the God of the Junishi. In the past year, he had been there for her. He had done everything to help her find out who she was. He was happy to see the woman she had become.

He arrived in the garden. Akito was kneeling and tending to the camellia in bloom. He approached her.

“Akito,” he called to inform her of his presence.

She stood up and turned towards him.

“Shigure, I'm fine. So stop worrying.”

Shigure smiled tenderly at her.

“You know it's stronger than me.”

Shigure walked over the camellia. He picked up a flower and sniffed it. He had always liked that scent. Maybe because that flower reminded him of Akito and the time he told her he loved her so many years ago. Because for him, loving Akito was obvious and what he felt for her was much stronger since the curse was broken. Their bond had changed. It was stronger and deeper.

“It's been a year today,” he said, looking at her. “I wanted to know how you were doing.”

He put the camellia behind her ear and took her in his arms.

“Actually, I'm fine.”

She took a deep breath and smiled.

“A year ago, I was so scared to lose this bond that united us. I felt alone and sad. I know that's how you all felt. But the outside world seemed so scary to me. I thought I could never get used to this new life. Do you know what got me over all those hurdles ?”

“What ?”

Shigure smirked. He already knew the answer, but he wanted to hear her say it. Akito chuckled lightly, knowing what he was trying to do.

“You. It is thanks to you that all this fear and loneliness has gone away. This year, I have never been so happy and I know that in the next few years, I will be even more happier.”

They kissed. Shigure was reassured. Akito was fine and that was all that mattered. She was right. The years that awaited them will be even more beautiful.
