While I have mixed feelings about how the situation with Kosame was handled (both like it and dislike it, lol). The Al x Appare relationship picked up speed this week!! Not only did we get Al being worried about Appare and trying to use Appare’s love for tinkering and fixing cars to help Appare snap out of his dark thoughts, but we also got Appare saying he’ll fix Al’s car (in response later in the episode) :

And then we got this hug! 

HIS EYES WIDENED AND HE MADE A LITTLE SURPRISE NOISE WHILE BLUSHING!

Appare gets a little flustered and embarrassed and awkward, but not in a totally tsundere type way. 

Please don’t just be queerbaiting! T-T This ship has so much potential!

This post has essentially just been me fangirling. Also, now that we know there was a past love triangle with Dylan, Claudia, and TJ...I’m just like, look at this:

It has had huge OT3 potenial! Okay, that’s all. I have way too many ships for an anime series that doesn’t even have 13 episodes yet. These characters are all just so shippable and have really great interactions! <3

I was hooked on Appare Ranman right from the start, and absolutely fell in love with Al Lyon.

Review - Appare Ranman! (天晴爛漫！)

Appare was a big surprise for me this season, after pausing because of covid, it finally continued this summer. And it turned out way better than expected!

The story is set around the late 19th Century, near the beginning of Meiji era. It revolves around an eccentric inventor and second son of a respected merchant family, Appare Soriano and the samurai Kosame Isshiki that is tasked with keeping Appare's eccentric behavior in check. Appare want to go away from Japan, so he starts building a boat, after a series of events Kosame accidentally strands them both at sea, ending up stuck in Los Angeles. To find a way back hokr Appare and Kosame decide to enter the "Trans-America Wild Race".

This is one of the best original anime series I have seen recently. At first it got me really excited because I loved since the beginning Appare's character, during episode 3-6 I got a bit bored I guess, but then again it became hella good, it started to get more dramatic and cool. The story hit the right point and every character made it even better.

Appare was the best, his cold and calculus personality made me fell for him, and I really got everything I needed from him as main, as the story goes he gets more open with his feelings to a point we saw him desparate, happy and even crying like there's no way back. Absolutely adore him.

Kosame was amazing, being a samurai makes you think he would be all heroic and serious, when he actually fears of death and gets afraid when it comes to fighting due to a childhood trauma. His development is really good to, once he overcome his fear he became the top top master of the sword. It was really really exciting.

The rest of the group was really nice too, I really enjoy every moment with Hototo, great addition to the team! Jing and Al were great too, along side the Thousand Three members.

Animation was really good, that steampunk concept went so nicely, and the music goes perfectly with this 19th century story, both op and ed were amazing.

Appare is one of my new loves ^^, my final score 8.5/10⭐

Yeah I got dragged into another anime by accidentally stumbling on the opening theme. I wish I was keeping my eyes out for these shows ;w;

ANYWAYS, Appare-Ranman is a severely underrated anime with only thirteen episodes so far, so if you’re looking for something quick and interesting then this anime is for you! I don’t wanna spoil too much for people but the premise is two Japanese people, titular character Ranman and exasperated teacher Kosame, get stranded far from Japan and end up in America. The show takes place in the early 1900′s so it’s mainly about the advancement of technology.

This is part of the cast:

Cherry-haired guy in the front? That’s our main character Appare. A total nutcase, an absolute loon, I love him and his antics. The swordsman? Essentially his babysitter (lol) Kosame. The beautiful woman on the left? Jing Xialian, a woman on a MISSION. The kid on the far right? Hototo, a kid who is seeking some JUSTICE. The couple in the back? Al Lyon (Heir to a huge automobile company) and his chaperone Sophia. I’ll keep the gent in the far back a mystery.

It’s a really good show, I honestly didn’t know if I was gonna like it or not but after the first episode I was HOOKED. I’m still going through it but it’s really good.
