Kalen DeBoer: A Rising Star Head Coach of Alabama Football
Tumblr media
Kalen DeBoer is one of the hottest names in college football. The 48-year-old coach has quickly established himself as a winner, compiling a 104–12 record in his nine seasons as a head coach. In 2023, he led the University of Washington Huskies to the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, the program’s first appearance in over two decades. DeBoer’s success has earned him the prestigious head coaching job at the University of Alabama, one of the most storied programs in college football history.
DeBoer’s coaching career began in the NAIA ranks, where he won three national championships at the University of Sioux Falls. He then moved on to the FBS level, serving as offensive coordinator at Southern Illinois, Eastern Michigan, Fresno State, and Indiana. DeBoer’s offensive schemes are known for their creativity and explosiveness, and he has a knack for developing quarterbacks. At Washington, he transformed Michael Penix Jr. from a journeyman backup into a first-round NFL draft prospect.
DeBoer’s arrival at Alabama has generated a lot of excitement. Crimson Tide fans are eager to see what he can do with the talent-rich roster in Tuscaloosa. DeBoer is known for his high-energy coaching style and his ability to motivate players. He is also a great recruiter, and he is expected to bring in some top-tier talent to Alabama.
There is no doubt that Kalen DeBoer is a rising star in college football. He has a proven track record of success, and he is a master of offensive innovation. DeBoer’s arrival at Alabama is sure to shake up the college football landscape, and it will be exciting to see what he accomplishes with the Crimson Tide

Here’s the thing.
Nick Saban was one of The Guys of College Football. This man could promise recruits things that basically no other coach could promise. Championship potential? Yup. Development to the NFL? Check. Solid, excellence-focused culture? Absolutely.
Alabama fans have deceived themselves that top-level recruits were coming in to play for Alabama. That’s not true. They came to play for Nick Saban. So, sure, a lot of Alabama players are hitting the portal now with his retirement, but that’s because these guys are almost always picking a coach they believe in, not a program they want to be a part of.
The gravy train is over for Alabama fans. It is unlikely they’ll see their team compete for championships as often in the future. And, like all completely spoiled fan bases, now that the Absolute Legend has gone they will cry foul every little thing that doesn’t go their way. Now they want the entire transfer portal and NIL system completely rewritten because their great players are heading to new schools.
I’m sure it’s hard to see a future look kinda gnarly after years and years of domination, but I have no sympathy. Alabama hasn’t wanted any changes to the status quo for years, so this is what happens. The portal, always a source of insane talent when a player proved to be transcendent at his position for a lesser school, is siphoning players away instead of bringing them in.
I am here for Alabama’s downfall. It’s been a long time coming.

Thank You, Coach Saban: A Crimson Tide Legacy Beyond the Field
Thank You, Coach Saban: A Crimson Tide Legacy Beyond the Field As an Alabama girl born and raised, the retirement of Nick Saban marks the end of an era that has defined not just football in our state but the very essence of our culture. From the days when I first screamed “Roll Tide” as a child to raising my own boys immersed in the traditions of Alabama football, Coach Saban has been a central…

At Alabama:
6 national championships
9 SEC Championships
201 wins
Countless NFL draft picks
20 habitat for humanity houses
Thousands of lives changed for the better forever
Go get some rest, Coach, you’ve earned it. Forever the GOAT
Sidenote: even though I think the Alabama football team is overrated, I have to admit that the team coach is definitely a legend in the university and college football in general. Enjoy retirement and #rolltide
