The issue with writing a fic for a show like TOH is adventures literally take place in one day. When I need them to be like, three days at least.

I'm gonna have to take artistic liberties and elongate these episodes in fic, starting with Escaping Expulsion that should happen next chapter. All of that happening and wrapping up in one day is not cutting it for me.

Remember the episode 'Something Ventured, Someone Framed' where we find out Eda started a food fight because a kid stole Lilith money and at the end they teamed up with the kid to fight the sentient abominations?

Now before the episode 'Thems the Breaks, Kids' came out there was a theory that Raine was the kid (obviously that turned out not to be true) but it made me think of Darius because in that episode we see that him, Odalia, and Alador are friends (they also give off the school bullies vibe lol) but somehow Darius fell out with them. Now what if the kid who stole Liliths money was Darius and he went through a sort of redemption, which in turn led to him leaving Alador and Odalia? I just find the idea absolutely hilarious.

Amity paced back and forth between in her room, her now lavender hair was messily dyed and probably looked awful.

She knew she should’ve asked her siblings for help once they got out of detention. Now Amity either had to try and get the color out herself and mess her hair up even further, or ask her father for help.

Amity choose the second option, sneaking down to her father’s workshop while making sure to avoid her mother. She’d rather not get in trouble for this, out of all things. If this was how her ‘self exploration’ journey started, then she was in for a wild ride.

Honestly, it was a shame since she actually liked the color and would rather not go back to dying it green, but she couldn’t be seen like this.

“Hey, dad?” Amity gently knocked on the door while trying to figure out what excuse that she could use in order to explain the hair color away. Maybe she could say it was a just a small prank another student played on her.

Not Eber related but I was rewatching some episodes yesterday and realized how odd it is that the fandom thinks the falling out between Darius and Alador was because Odalia was meddling with their friendship. I get where that theory is coming from but I just do not personally agree with it because if that was the case, Alador would react a lot differently towards Darius.

Whatever is going on between them isn’t one sided and they are both petty towards each other.

Tell Alador he is a hack? Darius at least only says it to Kikimora while the only other person to hear it is Eber. Alador responds by posting on penstagram "who’s the hack now" with millions of other people to see. Darius response is an immediate mute.

We do not know much about their relationship or their falling out but it’s the fact that Darius only says it to one person but Alador was so defensive and insecure about it that he posted it for everyone to see. That already speaks a lot for me but also makes Alador look more petty than Darius.

Book about abomination magic written by Darius? Alador immediately groans. Dude is even annoyed to see him as an author.

Listen so many things about this episode overwhelmed me. Obviously. But for some reason the only thing I am able to think about is how fucking bonkers that Alador and Darius interaction was??? Because like I have been saying since "And tell Alador he's a hack while you're at it" in Eda's Requiem that it would be soso funny if they were bitter exes, and I was kinda waiting for that reveal but at the same time I was like "Disney's not gonna let that happen. They've reached their Queer Quota with the other characters. They wouldn't do that."

owl house old man yaoi character arc longpost incoming

i haven’t seen people talking about darius and alador’s little moment at the end of watching and dreaming (which i get, they’re smaller characters, they’re not too popular in the grand scheme of things, alador less so than darius, but like cmon) so i thought i’d bring it up because its really sweet

so like. throughout the show the two of them have been shown to hate eachother, but in a way that’s almost a bit contradictory. darius gets bothered over alador on penstagram and mutes him, but why that and not blocking him? why was he even following alador in the first place if he hates him that much?

alador destroys the book that darius had written, but again, why did he have it to begin with? it’s even autographed by darius- did he send it to alador or did alador get the copy himself? either way, it’s not like he destroyed it on sight or refused it, he was clearly using it beforehand

something’s up with the two of them, darius especially. they tease eachother back and forth (kiki clearly did deliver the “tell alador he’s a hack” message LOL), but do so in a way that they keep coming back to eachother to see what they’re up to. i think it’s important to remember that the two of them were friends at one point (hi perry :) hi odalia :/ ) but then split apart at some point

so all of that makes the scene with the two of them at the end of watching and dreaming even sweeter. darius respects alador’s craft and gets excited about it, and when darius grabs alador to shake him, he doesn’t seem that angry, only surprised and a bit confused-

-moreso when darius turns away all flustered and “tch. i didn’t mean that.” you can even see darius blush!

in the end i think it’s really sweet that the two of them grow to respect eachother and maybe even like eachother again in the end. who knows, maybe hunter and amity could end up step-siblings LOL

(also this isn’t entirely old man yaoi related but i think it’s nice how alador has a cleaner workspace and clothes. he takes care of himself now that hes not being overworked by his wife :) )

And Alador goes from being slumped over his workbench almost asleep to fucking coming to life, like, "he thinks i'm a hack???? that's IT i'm making the greatest abomaton he's ever seen and posting it ALL OVER PENSTAGRAM to EMBARRASS him!!! everyone out of my workshop I need to focus!!!"

And Odalia's just like. :( why does alador get all this :( eda never responds to my hatemail :( I even got her kid expelled and then tried to kill her and NO REACTION :( it's like she doesn't even care about my deep and passionate Hatred towards her :(

so kikimora tells her to get over herself because, hey, at least you have a rival the same age as you. I'm stuck in a rivalry with an annoying teenage boy. where is the homoerotic tension there??? i deserve Better than this!!!

AND THEN they look at each other like.... what if... what if We were weird gay rivals.... what if we could both get the requited homoerotic rivalry we're craving.... what if we could make each other worse.....
