i'm on my hazbin hotel shit so i can't stop thinking of tommy and ellie bonding over the show.

like tommy loves cartoons, both the kind intended for adults and the ones for kids—spongebob especially bc he thinks that show is comedic genius—and ellie loves anything tommy's into, so of course she'll binge watch the first season with him in one sitting (it's actually tommy's 12th time rewatching the show and he still gets excited every rewatch).

sarah tried to get into it bc she always wants to talk about her uncle's interests, but it's more ellie's speed, so she'll stick to her k-dramas and let them have fun. which they do.

ellie's memorized almost every joke in there and she thinks vaggie is kickass bc, hello? an ex-exterminator angel who went and fell in love with the princess of hell? yeah, that's pretty fucking cool. her favorite songs are "hell is forever" bc adam may have been a little bitch but he had a catchy as hell song, and "hell's greatest dad" bc she thinks lucifer if a silly little guy. she hasn't stopped saying "i wap-bam-boom, alakazam" for 6 days straight and sarah is about to duct tape her little sister's mouth shut lmao

her and tommy rewatch their favorite episodes a lot, specifically ep 4 bc they're angel dust lovers, and they've learned the choreography to "loser, baby" much to joel's absolute displeasure bc they won't stop singing "you're a fucked up little whiny bitch" anytime he's in the room. they do it even when they're not watching the show and he's about to break the roku remote he's so goddamn serious—

Wanna go on a fun journey with me?

So my parents came to visit and drop off a bunch old stuff from when I was a kid, including a binder of pokemon cards. I was a pretty avid collector, convinced they would absolutely be worth something someday, before eventually falling out of the hobby around Gen 3.

A lot of it is what you might expect, a lot of chaff with a few good hits here and there.

There's the obligatory foil Charizard. It's not first edition, but a moderately played Legendary Collection printing still goes for around $250. For context, the most expensive Magic card I own, Mana Crypt, is $175.

There's his buddy Venusaur. Not as popular, but still commands a respectable $50 for the second edition.

My parents bought me a Blastoise to round out the trio when I was 10. It was $20 at the time, which was a lot. Nowadays it goes for close to $70 for the second edition. Unfortunately, being 10, I left my copy in my pocket, and despite being water type, it did not survive the wash.

Oh hey, nice! Alakazam! I loved this funky guy. Wasn't there some weird likeness lawsuit with a magician? I remember trading almost half if my collection at the time for this boy. I guess it was worth it, because he's $35 bucks now. Unlike most older cards, which are generally not worth very much.

Both of these Mewtwos are worth a solid amount. I could probably sell the Rocket's Mewtwo for around $70. Mewtwo ex is a little trickier... the price spiked very recently and is now going for around $100, but there also aren't a lot of listings so it's hard to say. But I'm also not in any rush to flip it at the moment, so we'll wait and see.

There's a few other good hits, around the $20 range. Mostly assorted Gen 3 ex cards. Which, dont get me wrong, $20 is a strong price for cardboard, but as a Magic player I keep $20 staples unsleeved in a longbox next to the chaff. I decide I'm basically done and scroll through tcgplayer to see if there's anything really valuable that I missed and...

My thoughts on the best game-accurate Hisuian team for Emmet if he was in pla instead of Ingo, based on Ingo's canonical pla team

Crobat - Easily mirrors Ingo's Gliscor, what with both bats being found in both the Coronet Highlands and the Alabaster Icelands in their previous forms. Both Crobat and Gliscor can be found exclusively as alphas in the Coronet Highlands, but that doesn't really matter as Ingo's Gliscor is a regular Gliscor. Ingo's Gliscor is also likely meant to resemble Emmet with its permanent smile and its visual appearance appearance to Emmet's Archeops, which it also shares half its typing with.

Golem - Like how Machamp is an analog to Ingo's Gurdurr once it evolves into Conkeldurr (trade-evolution fighting-type) Golem is the analog to Emmet's Boldore once it evolves into Gigalith (trade-evolution rock-type)

Drapion - Since Ingo's Tangrowth is likely meant to resemble his Garbodor, the last Pokémon on his single line team, I think it would be more fitting for Emmet to catch a Skorupi over a Scyther to later evolve into a Scizor that would represent his Durant for the bug/steel typing, as Galvantula is the last member of Emmet's double line team. Skorupi/Drapion and Joltik/Galvantula have fairly similar body types/visual appearances/physical traits, and Skorupi at least has the bug typing before it evolves. Both Skorupi and Tangela are found in the Cobalt Coastlands, with their evolutions showing up in space-time distortions in the Alabaster Icelands

Magnezone - Ingo's Magnezone is likely meant to resemble his Klinklang, and since Ingo and Emmet have their own separate Klinklang unlike the other Pokémon that they share between them, Emmet should also get a Magnezone. It also helps that the only way to acquire the Magezone line outside of space-time distortions is to catch one of the two wild Magnezone flying around the Coronet Highlands

Probopass - With my best conclusion as to why Ingo has a Probopass being that an amnesiac living on a mountain would likely find having a living compass that also lives on that mountain to be helpful, I don't see why Emmet shouldn't also get a Probopass if he were in PLA instead of Ingo.

Gengar - I have no idea why Ingo has an Alakazam nor if it is meant to represent any of his Unovan Pokémon (possibly caught in the hope that it may help in recovering his memories through Alakazam's psychic/telepathic abilities?) so I'll go ahead and say Emmet gets a Gengar, which like Alakazam is a generation one trade evolution that can be found in its second stage form in both the Alabaster Icelands and in space-time distortions in the Obsidian Fieldlands.

All up that gives Emmet three poison types, which coincidentally matches the amount of bug types he uses in the present, as long as you exclude Escavalier from the Pokémon Masters Ex Tea Time event - which isn't really meant to be counted as canon by Gamefreak, as far as I'm aware.

you know what they say: you win some, you lose some… you do stupid bullshit off-type clears on some…

1. “sync buffs more effective” round against lorelei. she had that stupid look alive passive skill this time so i needed something with piercing gaze (or equivalent) and settled on my good ol’ electric team. it may have been off-type, but it was a good clear. sorry i couldn’t use you this time, bea

2. “stat changes have greater effect” round against lance. with champ iris and alt leon this one was a no-brainer. they crushed everything in their paths, as expected, and hop’s crit-rate buffs helped iris quite a bit

3. “infinite field effects” round against bruno. first time using neo champ serena since i got her on saturday and it felt wicked good. sygna green and sygna kris make an excellent support combo, even if kris’s special defense buffing wasn’t really needed this time

4. “physical damage reduction” round against agatha. honestly i had no strat going in here so i scrounged up enough 5-star power-ups to EX fall morty… and it didn’t work out so great. which SUCKS because i really like him! after a few attempts i decided to cheese this one with flinch and freeze spam. red and lyra are awful together and i love it so much

5. “status condition buff” and “infinite field effects” round against green. i was so excited to use sygna hilbert for this but in a panic i took out the center ‘mon first, and the ally attacks knocked out genesect pretty brutally. so while hilbert got the win against green’s alakazam, it was actually sygna morty and aaron who teamed up to whittle the allies down to nothing. sygna morty continues to impress me tbh, i’m so glad i have him

and there you go! 12.5k clear once again. i should draw some of these combinations because i love them ^_^

Public Knowledge

Natsume or Sabrina is the Psychic Gym Leader of Saffron City, and the sixth leader in the circuit.

She is considered the de facto "Master" of Psychic Pokémon. This is a completely accurate title.

Her psychic ability is lauded as much as it is feared. She leans into this fear more than the accolades, designing her public persona as a goth icon as well as an extremely talented magician.

Sabrina forcibly took the Gym in Saffron City, seemingly with League support, from Battlemaster Kiyo.

Her gym is a hub for psykers interested in developing their psychic powers. It is often open to the public as a "dojo" of sorts for even very young espers. The pedagogy is mastery of mind and body, as to not seperate the two.

She was born with her psychic abilities.

For a while, she was split into two bodies, her favorite doll, and her own human body, although she was disconnected from both.

Her Haunter possesses her hair.

She is a famous actress from the extremely popular Pokestars Studio series "The Magical Kingdom's Mysterious Door", starring as Magic Queen Jujube / Queen Bellelba.

She is a renowned director, producing exceptional and effective horror movies that have accrued a cult-like status. Her most famous film is Geist, a psychological horror/thriller.

She participated in the first Pokémon World Tournament, pulling a publicity stunt by registering and competing alongside a Mewtwo.

She participated in the Pasio Project with Alakazam, and later, Chimecho.

Sabrina was the PWT II Coordinator and absolute ruler of the event, though she only competed personally in exhibition matches.

Sabrina designed the PWT II Stadiums personally.

She became Silph Co's CEO after the rest of the Silph board was... relieved of duty.

Private Knowledge

Sabrina is an ex Rocket Commander, with a specialty in finding and manipulating powerful Pokémon.

She left Rocket violently after the Black Fog Incident.

The Black Fog incident was the catalyst for her personality severance. Her original, childhood Pokémon were killed by its first release.

Her Haunter is the ghost of her original Pikachu, which was separated from her in Lavender Town.

Black Fog came back for her and successfully ripped her soul out of her body while she was at odds with the organization.

The original Team Rocket were the ones to route Black Fog the first time, and force it to retreat.

Giovanni was the reason she survived at all.

Giovanni advised the League not to interfere after Sabrina's hostile takeover of Saffron City's fighting gym.

Her personality severance was solved by Satoshi, who returned her Pikachu's ghost to her.

She killed her parents in an accident, turning them into psychic ghosts that haunt Saffron.

Sabrina has been incorporating herself powerfully into the running and operations of Saffron City. Whatever it takes to make HER city more powerful. This includes installing Metagross as well as Beldum units into the automatic parts of the city.

Sabrina's an underground racer and drifter. She hosts battles on cars going 300+ mph regularly, and has three extremely specialized cars for this purpose.

She extorted the PWT II and stole insane amounts of money from the Silph Corporation, and the League.

A core issue with the Pokemon TCG, which I personally don't find to be too ruinous to my enjoyment but is a flaw nonetheless, is that ever since introducing Pokemon-ex cards (which are distinct from the later Pokemon-EX and Pokemon ex cards), the game has been in a never ending power escalation that simply can't be stopped without losing half a generation's worth of revenue. Maybe it could have been stopped somewhere in gen 4 or early gen 5, but once we got Pokemon-EX, the trajectory of the game was set in stone.

Big chonky basic Pokemon whose massive health pools offset the penalty for having one knocked out, massive attacks that make it so that your main way of dealing with Pokemon-EX was to have your own Pokemon-EX, and many, many effects centered specifically around Pokemon-EX cards. Stage 2 Pokemon were mostly missing from the meta because why play Alakazam when you can play bigger better Alakazam-EX that doesn't need to evolve?

Things would slow down mildly with Pokemon-GX by way of sometimes giving you a GX worth using that wasn't a basic Pokemon, and so we saw stuff like Lycanroc-GX get play and, hey, you had to evolve that! There was the occasional stage 2 card in the mix here like Metagross-GX and Gardevoir-GX, but the majority of usable GX cards were either basic or stage 1.

And then we got GX Tag Teams. I don't think we've ever really recovered from that. Bigger, chunkier basics than Pokemon-EX ever offered, with the same access to the obscenely powerful GX attacks, but offered 3 prize cards instead of 2. I think that really came to a head with Arceus & Dialga & Palkia-GX which would often only need 2 knockouts to close a game.

I dipped out of the game for a bit from here because it was pretty difficult to remain engaged with the TCG with an ongoing pandemic, but the Pokemon V cards from that time frame where I was disengaged with the game seem largely similar to the Pokemon-EX cards from earlier.

Now that I'm back in, the new type of card is Pokemon ex, which is Pokemon-ex but better and stronger. In a universe where TPCI eased up on power levels, these would be comparable to Pokemon-GX, although without the GX attacks and might have actually been a slowing down point. In this universe, where TPCI didn't ease up on power levels, they are more comparable to GX Tag Teams, but with only 2 prize cards given instead of 3. Sure, you gotta evolve em, but the fact that you can pull out a 310 HP Gardevoir ex that does 190 damage when its Gardevoir-ex counterpart had half the health and a quarter of the damage with the same drawbacks and limitations, this game is forced, by capital, to constantly inflate power levels just to keep people buying.

I enjoy the game. I just wish there was a way to play it that didn't involve drawing your entire deck in 3 turns and then eagerly waiting to see if a bigger and better card would come out next set.

But also I find it extremely funny that there's a limit of 4 of each card of a specific name you can have but due to the weirdness of naming conventions surrounding all these different types of cards, the only limit to how many Darkrai you can run in expanded dark box is whether or not an extra Darkrai will prevent you from drawing half your deck on turn 1.

we’ve mentioned some of the rules and requirements to this over HERE, but we wanted to expand a bit further so you can get a better idea of how the personal channels are set up:

depending on the muse’s NOTORIETY (at the time of this post), the writing requirements may vary slightly so please pay attention to that when planning when to write the solos/posts!

once the debuted artist has created a personal channel, they will be expected to pay any of the expenses that might be used. so if you’re planning on doing some sort of game or challenge with a guest, do note that they will be given the bare minimum especially that the selected artists are just starting their channels.

since there is an option to invite a GUEST on the show once per trimester, this will probably be filmed during a time when BOTH the host and guest are free. generally speaking, actors and idols usually are the busiest due to their schedules followed by models and trainees so take that into consideration when thinking of who to invite. for this term there are some special rules about this, so please read below for more info!

in terms of traveling, the debuted artist can travel to different parts of korea but most likely that will be filmed on sunday, which is the day that everyone has a day off (exception is if they’re given a holiday break like chuseok). if the debuted artist plans to do that at any time during the trimester, they will have to do all of the filming by themselves.

the length of the videos vary, but typically each video is about 10-25 minutes long with all of the editing!

for Q2, we’ve added some special rules as a way to spark some creativity with the solos/threads.

first, if you are PLANNING on doing a thread for one of the videos, rather than the usual restriction ( ex. the guest must be a debuted artist/model/actor ), the guest must be someone who HAS hosted a vlive/youtube show in the past terms ( Q4 2022 & Q1 2023 ) and isn’t in NOVA currently. this is because everyone has a busy schedule ( including the trainees ) so rather than letting them host another season of their show or having their own, we’re allowing them to be featured as a guest for the personal channel. listed below are all of the muses who have hosted a vlive show or youtube show during that time:

second, to receive an additional +4 MCING/HOSTING, VARIETY, ACTING, OR PERFORMANCE, and +2 NOTORIETY, one of the solos ( NOT threads ) must be a charity related video. this means that the profits earned from the views in that specific video will be donated to a charity of the personal channel owner’s choosing, so it’s up to them to decide the charity they would like to donate the money to and bring some awareness to the charity in their video ( this can be done by either having the video focusing on what the charity does, doing an activity that can help the charity, etc. ). if this is completed, you will get both the base rewards ( +6 MCING/HOSTING, VARIETY, ACTING, OR PERFORMANCE & +4 NOTORIETY ) AND the additional rewards ( +4 MCING/HOSTING, VARIETY, ACTING, OR PERFORMANCE & +2 NOTORIETY ). the total of the rewards will then be +10 MCING/HOSTING, VARIETY, ACTING, OR PERFORMANCE, and +6 NOTORIETY for that solo. 

third, while this only applies to muses who are in BULLET INQUIRY, you can film content during the bali trip but if you choose to have another cast member featured in the video make sure that it’s short ( less than 1 minute ) and you’ve asked permission from the mun about the cameo appearance since the majority of the video should be focusing on the personal channel owner. for the owners that are in LGC SPRING BOYS, you can film behind the scenes content with another fellow LGC SPRING BOYS member for the thread component, but the same rules applies ( ex. the guest will not receive points for replying to the thread, can only be one of the lgc spring boys members that has hosted a vlive/youtube show in q4 2022/q1 2023, etc. ) if you choose to write a solo about the LGC SPRING BOYS behind the scenes, you could if you want to but all solos and threads related to that project will be posted ( ic wise ) after the project is done ( so around JUNE ).

after the deadline has passed, we’ll add on the lgc master sheet (specifically on the LGCMEDIA SCHEDULE tab) when the episodes that you’ve submitted were aired. as a reminder, the debuted artist has released more episodes than the number that was written for this trimester.
