kazuha.
The battlefield was strewn with chaos, and amidst the clash of swords and the cries of war, Kazuha fought with all his might, his heart burdened with the weight of the lives at stake. He had hoped that his skills with the blade and mastery of the Anemo vision would be enough to protect those he held dear, but fate had other plans.
As the battle raged on, he caught a glimpse of his lover, a skilled warrior whose presence had always brought him comfort and strength, you. Your eyes met for a fleeting moment, and in that exchange, you understood each other without uttering a word. It was a silent promise that you would find each other amidst the chaos.
But the tide turned against you, and the enemy’s forces seemed endless. Despite your best efforts, the defenders were overwhelmed, and Kazuha found himself standing back-to-back with you, defending against the onslaught.
In the midst of the chaos, an arrow found its mark. Time seemed to slow as the arrow pierced through your chest, and the world around you faded into the background. Kazuha’s heart clenched in horror as he caught you, your strength waning with each passing moment.
“Kazuha,” you gasped, blood staining your lips. “Can I hold your hand?”
Tears welled up in Kazuha’s eyes as he clutched your hand tightly, trying to offer some semblance of comfort amidst the pain. “Yes, of course,” he choked out, his voice trembling with grief.
Your hand trembled in his grasp, and Kazuha could feel your life slipping away like sand through his fingers. He could do nothing but watch helplessly as the light in your eyes began to fade. You smiled weakly at him, a bittersweet expression filled with love and regret.
“I’m sorry,” you whispered, your voice barely audible above the sounds of battle. “I wish… we had more time.”
“Don’t speak like that,” Kazuha pleaded, his voice breaking. “We’ll get through this. I won’t let you go.”
But you knew better, and as your strength waned, you continued to smile at him, your touch growing weaker by the second.
“I love you,” you murmured, your breath becoming shallow. “Always…”
Tears streamed down Kazuha’s cheeks as he held you close, trying to shield you from the harsh reality of the world around you. He wished he could turn back time, rewrite the events that led to this tragic moment, but life was unforgiving in its cruelty.
Your hand in his grew colder, and your breathing ceased. Your life force, once vibrant and strong, slipped away, leaving behind only a lifeless body in Kazuha’s arms.
Kazuha held your hand tightly, unable to let go, as if keeping that connection alive could somehow bring you back. He cried out in anguish, the weight of grief crashing down upon him like an unforgiving storm.
In that moment, amidst the chaos of the battlefield, Kazuha felt an emptiness he had never known before. He had lost not only a lover but a confidant, a soulmate with whom he had shared dreams, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
And as the battle raged on, Kazuha clung to your lifeless hand, lost in sorrow, with a heart that would forever bear the burden of their memory.

Albedo’s heart pounded in his chest as he cradled his you in his arms. He was just about to descend from his lab on Dragonspine to meet up with you as he promised, only to see you laying on your own blood at the bottom of the mountain. He had seen you only hours prior, he’d laughed with you, but now, all that remained was a sea of sorrow, the bitter taste of loss overwhelming his senses.
He looked down at the face that he had cherished so dearly, now drained of all warmth and life. Your eyes, once filled with light and love, now stared back at him with a haunting emptiness. Albedo’s hands trembled, and tears welled up in his eyes, blurring his vision.
“Can you hold my hand?” a weak voice whispered, barely audible amidst the sounds of grief and despair that surrounded them. Albedo’s heart wrenched at the sound, and he quickly took your freezing hand into his own.
Tears streamed down Albedo’s cheeks as he clutched your hand tightly. “Yes, of course,” he choked out, his voice breaking with pain. “I’ll hold your hand for as long as you need, my love.”
He brought your intertwined hands to his lips and placed a tender kiss on the once-warm skin, now cold and lifeless. Memories of your time together flooded his mind – the laughter you shared, the dreams you nurtured, and the love you built with each passing day. Now, all that was left were shattered hopes and dreams.
“I’m so sorry,” Albedo whispered, his voice filled with regret and guilt. “I couldn’t protect you. I failed.”
You weakly shook your head, mustering a faint smile. “No, don’t blame yourself,” you managed to say. “You… you brought me so much happiness, Albedo. Please, don’t forget that.”
Albedo’s heart ached at the words, realizing that he had to find the strength to carry on without you. But it felt like an impossible task, as if the very essence of his being had been torn apart.
“I don’t know if I can,” he confessed, his voice trembling with sorrow. “You’re my everything.”
You fingers tightened around his hand as if trying to hold on just a little longer. “You’re strong, Albedo. Stronger than you know,” you said, your voice barely audible. “Promise me… you’ll keep going… for both of us.”
Albedo nodded, his tears falling freely now. “I promise,” he whispered, trying to keep his voice steady. “I’ll live for the both of us. But it won’t be the same without you.”
Your breaths became shallower, and Albedo knew that your life was slipping away. He leaned closer, trying to memorize every detail of your face, never wanting to forget.
“I love you,” you whispered, your words fading like a gentle breeze. “Always.”
“I love you too,” Albedo replied, his voice choked with emotion. “Always and forever.”
And with those final words, your grip on his hand slowly weakened until it was gone completely. Albedo held onto your hand a moment longer, pressing it against his heart as if trying to keep your love alive within him.
As grief consumed him, Albedo felt a mix of emotions. Sorrow, anger, and a deep longing to see his lover again, even if it were just for a moment. But he knew he had to continue, to honor your memory and the love you shared.
Albedo gently laid your body down, closing your eyes with tender care. He stood, feeling the weight of loss heavy on his shoulders, but also the weight of your love, and your belief in him, pushing him forward. Though his heart was shattered, he would carry your love with him, always.
And as he walked away from that place of sorrow, he knew that the pain would remain, but so would the memories of a love that would never truly fade away.
aether.
Aether’s heart pounded in his chest as he cradled his dying lover in his arms. The battlefield around them had turned into a chaotic canvas of destruction, but his attention was solely focused on the person he held dear. You were slipping away, and he could feel your life force fading like a waning star.
“Can you hold my hand?” you whispered, your voice barely audible amidst the cacophony of war. Aether’s eyes filled with tears, and he gently clasped your frail hand in his own, interlocking your fingers. His touch was warm, providing a sense of comfort amidst the pain.
“I’m here,” he choked out, his voice trembling. “I won’t let go.”
Your breathing was shallow, and your once-bright eyes were now dim, but you managed a faint smile. It was a bittersweet expression, as if you were trying to convey so much in that fleeting moment. Memories of you flooded Aether’s mind, from the first time you met under the starlit sky to the promises you made to each other.
“You have to promise me,” you murmured, your voice barely above a whisper, “that you’ll keep going. That you’ll find happiness again.”
Aether couldn’t find the strength to respond, his throat constricted with grief. He knew that in a world without his lover, life would lose its luster, its purpose. But he understood that you were trying to ease his pain, even in your last breaths.
“No,” he whispered, tears streaming down his cheeks, “I can’t bear to live without you. Please don’t leave. Not you too.”
You smiled again, a mixture of sadness and love in your eyes. “You are strong, Aether, and you will find the strength to carry on. I will always be with you.”
Aether’s heartache intensified, and he leaned down to press his forehead against yours. He wished he could freeze time, to hold you forever, but he knew it was slipping away like grains of sand through his fingers.
“I love you,” you said, their voice fading into a whisper.
“And I love you,” Aether replied, his voice breaking.
Your grip on his hand loosened, and Aether felt the last pulse of life slip away from you. He held onto your hand a moment longer, not wanting to let go, but eventually, he lowered it gently to your chest.
In that moment, as the world around him continued to rage with chaos, Aether felt an overwhelming emptiness inside. His lover was gone, and the pain of your absence consumed him. But he knew he had to honor your last wish—to find a way to live without you, to keep your love alive in his heart.
With tears in his eyes, Aether kissed your forehead one last time before he stood, facing the uncertain future that lay ahead. Your love would forever be his guiding light, and he would cherish every memory, every moment you had shared.
And as the battles raged on and the world continued to turn, Aether vowed to carry your love with him, a beacon of hope in the darkest of times. Though your physical presence was gone, your love would endure, a reminder that even in the face of loss, the power of love could transcend beyond the boundaries of life and death.
heizou.
Heizou knelt on the cold, damp ground, cradling your cold body in his arms. He had just returned home from work, when the last thing he expected to see was see you laying on your own blood in your shared home. He held you closer, your blood staining his hands, mingling with his own tears. His heart felt as though it had been torn apart, and the pain was almost unbearable.
The world seemed to slow down as Heizou stared into the fading eyes of his beloved. Each second felt like an eternity, and yet, it was slipping away all too quickly. He could see the struggle in your gaze, the effort it took to speak those final words.
“Can I hold your hand?” you whispered, your voice getting lower with each word.
Tears streamed down Heizou’s face, and he gently clasped your trembling hand with his own, intertwining your fingers. He felt your warmth slowly waning, and he held on tighter, as if he could somehow will life back into you with the strength of his grip.
“You don’t have to ask,” Heizou choked out, his voice breaking with sorrow. “I’ll hold your hand forever.”
You managed a faint smile, your strength visibly waning. “I… I love you,” you managed to say, your voice barely above a whisper.
“I love you too,” Heizou replied, his voice trembling. “You’re my everything, my reason for living.”
As the commotion outside your shared home began to get louder, the people having noticed the blood stains, Heizou’s focus remained solely on you. The world outside ceased to exist for him, and he poured all his love and energy into holding you, trying to be your anchor in this storm of pain and suffering.
In your last moments, you clung to each other tightly, as if afraid to let go. Heizou’s heart ached as he felt your life slipping away from him, the person who meant more to him than anything else in the world. He wished he could have done something, anything, to save you.
But in the end, all he could do was be there, holding your hand, providing them with comfort in their final moments. Heizou would carry the weight of this loss forever, the memories of you etched into his soul.
Even as people left you two alone and the world moved on, Heizou remained on that cold, damp ground, cradling the body of the one he had loved and lost, his heart forever scarred by the pain of that fateful day.
xiao.
Xiao knelt on the damp ground, his heart pounding with anguish as he cradled your shaking form in his arms. The battlefield around you was silent, the chaos of the battle having retreated, leaving behind only the echoes of suffering and loss.
Your once bright eyes, now dulled by death, stared up at him, and Xiao couldn’t bear to look away. Your hands, once intertwined in a promise of eternity, now lay limp and still. Tears welled up in his eyes, but he refused to let them fall.
“Can you hold my hand?” your voice was a faint whisper, barely audible amidst the devastation surrounding them.
Xiao’s heart shattered at those words, but he gently took your hand in his own, holding it with all the tenderness and love he had for you. “I will always hold your hand,” he choked out, his voice breaking with grief.
You managed a weak smile, the corners of your lips lifting slightly. “Even in death,” you murmured, your voice barely reaching Xiao’s ears.
“I’ll follow you anywhere, my love,” Xiao vowed, his fingers trembling as he clung tightly to the hand that was growing colder by the second. “Even to the ends of this cruel world.”
Your breathing grew fainter, and your grip on his hand loosened. Xiao felt his heartache intensify, knowing that he couldn’t change the cruel fate that had befallen you.
“Thank you… for loving me,” you whispered, your voice a mere thread of sound.
“Thank you for making my life meaningful,” Xiao replied, his voice choked with emotion. “I’m grateful for every moment we shared.”
Your eyes locked for a final time, and in that fleeting moment, a lifetime of love and memories passed between you. Xiao wished he could freeze time, to hold on to this moment forever, but life had other plans.
As the last breath left your lips, Xiao leaned down, pressing a tender kiss to your forehead. “Rest now,” he whispered, his voice breaking with sorrow. “I’ll carry you in my heart. Until we meet again.”
He remained there, holding your lifeless hand, as tears streamed down his cheeks, mingling with the blood-stained soil beneath you. Xiao knew that a part of him had died that day with his beloved, but he also knew that your love would live on, eternal and undying, no matter the circumstances.
wanderer.
Wanderer knelt on the ground, his heart pounding in his chest as he cradled you in his arms. The world around you seemed to blur, the noise of battle fading into an eerie silence. The battle had been brutal, and he had fought with all his might to protect the one he loved, but fate had dealt them a cruel hand.
Your once vibrant eyes now glistened with pain, and a weak smile graced your lips. Blood stained your clothing, and Wanderer could feel your life slipping away.
“Hey,” you whispered, your voice barely audible. “I don’t have much time, do I?”
Wanderer choked back a sob, clutching your body tightly. “Don’t talk like that. You’re going to be fine. We’ll get you help.”
A soft chuckle escaped your lips, but it quickly turned into a cough. “You can’t lie to me, my love.” you managed to say, your breath shallow.
Tears finally streamed down Wanderer’s face as he pressed his forehead against yours. “I love you,” he whispered, his voice breaking. “I’m sorry if I didn’t say it often. I can’t bear to lose you.”
You trembled in his grasp, and gazed into his eyes with a mixture of love and sadness. “Can I hold your hand?” you asked, your voice barely audible.
Wanderer nodded frantically, intertwining his fingers with yours. He held your hand close to his heart, hoping that somehow he could transfer strength to you.
“I’m scared,” you admitted, tears pooling in your eyes. “I don’t want to leave you.”
He brushed a strand of hair away from your face, his touch gentle and full of affection, reserved only for you. “You won’t have to. Just hold on a little longer, and we’ll get you help. We’ll face this together.”
Your grip tightened weakly on his hand. “You’re my light, my love, my everything,” you murmured. “You always have been. Promise me you’ll keep shining, even when I’m gone.”
Wanderer could feel whatever was left of his heart shatter with your words. “I promise,” he choked out. “But you can’t leave me. I can’t do this without you.”
Your breathing grew shallower, and your voice became softer. “You’re strong, my love,” you said. “You’ll find a way. Remember me, but don’t let my memory hold you back. Live your life to the fullest. Find happiness again.”
“I can’t imagine life without you,” he whispered, his voice trembling. “How am I supposed to go on?”
Your only response was a brief smile, and he squeezed your cold hand tightly. “I’ll never let go,” he vowed. “Not even when you’re gone.”
Your breathing slowed, and your eyes locked with his one last time. “I love you,” you whispered, your voice fading away.
“I love you too,” he whispered back, his voice cracking.
And then, with your hand still clasped in his, you were gone.
Wanderer held your lifeless form closer, his tears falling like rain. He knew that life would never be the same again, that a piece of his heart had been taken with you. But he also knew that he had to keep the promise he made. With a heavy heart, he stood, carrying your memory with him as he faced the world without you, knowing that he would always carry your love and light with him.

What if you and this male character were expecting a baby....
At first he was so excited to meet them, you were too after trial and errors to conceive a child. He knew you wanted a baby and he was there to give that. He knew you were pregnant the moment you ran through the bathroom door. The same symptoms that of a pregnant woman. But you wanted to make sure you really have a life growing inside of you. And you were. You were happy, he was happy to start a family with you.
Sometimes he would see you check yourself in the mirror everyday. And each passing day your stomach grew bigger and bigger till it was visible to everyone that you, his adorable and beautiful wife is carrying his child.
He saw how much you love the unborn baby. No, Words could not comprehend how much you anticipate to meet them.
Then there was that time he woke up with you gone. That made him jolt right up in panic only to see you grinning ear to ear, eyes sparkling in ecstasy at him. He let out a sigh of relief.
"They're kicking"
That's what you said, your cheeks now dusted in pink. He couldn't help but stare at you, your hair was a little messy, a few strands in disarray but nevertheless you were still ethereal in his eyes.
You reached out for him to stand up and led his hand to your baby bump. He was very careful and gentle as he pressed his palm on you. He couldn't help but smile too when he felt the kick. He knelt down telling the unborn child that he wishes to see them and to not make things hard for you during labour. He felt you brush his unruly hair as you told him, eyes heartfelt and like a loving wife and mother would, that no matter what the cost, no matter how painful it is, you wish for your baby to be healthy and see the world. You smiled your eyes squinting a bit. They were full of undisputed love and he wish to see them every waking moment.
The skies were in their darkest shades of gray and the pour of rain was unforgiving. The atmosphere was mournful, somber very appropriate for a funeral.
He held the umbrella to protect himself and the little bundle from the rain. He stared down at a grave, his eyes were tired, dull, a very expressive lament in them as if he had been crying for the longest time till he couldn't anymore, and on that stone protruding on the surface of the wet earthly floor carved, is your name. You didn't make it. He was unable to shed any more tears. He already cried far too much. All he felt was loss and an immeasurable amount of grief. He hears the baby coo in his arm, the baby that you left him, the child that you both made out of love for each other, the only thing connected to you.
Everyone that attended your funeral all left and shared their grief and respect. It was only him and a few concerned friends that stayed watching him mourn from the background.
Your brother decided to finally approach him, he has the same doleful expression as the others that attended your funeral and the same look of sympathy for him, the husband, and the father of your child. Your brother told him it was time to leave, that the rain is cold for the baby. He was hesitant to leave but complied for the baby's sake.
His and your friends and relatives were worried for him. Your mother offered to stay with him till he knows how to care for the baby himself. It didn't take long for him though, but even without anyone's help he would still learn how to care for his baby daughter, but he'd rather much have you see him struggle, to try and try until he got the hang of it. He wanted you to praise him to tell him he was doing well, but alas, you aren't there. The home you used to share feels painfully quiet without you. His heart aches everytime he sees every trinkets that you bought and decorated all over the house. Everything reminds him of you. Especially the little baby who's soundly sleeping on the comfiest cradle that you have chosen, you were right about the baby being a girl, he could never argue with you, you're always right, all except when you told him you're gonna be there for your baby girl, to hold her, to feed her, to wake up every night, to watch her grow into a beautiful young lady, like her mother.
He couldn't sleep in his first night without you, and the next day, and the days after that. The bed was cold and too big for him. His friends called and asked him if they could be of any help but he told him that he can manage with taking care of the little baby.
But what about him? You weren't there to scold him for not eating, you weren't there to shoo away his intrusive thoughts. He was hopeless, the only thing that kept him moving was his daughter. She looks so much like you and it hurts so much. He misses you so much. There was never a night where he would not cry, where he would accidentally call for your name and expect for a reply. He had to be there for your baby. The baby that you grew to love each and every passing time and day. He'll try to make his daughter feel the same love that you've been giving to her. He'll let her know and feel how much you love your baby girl.
It was in the middle of the night that he hears the loud cries of his baby daughter. It had been a few weeks after your death, the empty space beside him, the space where you used to lie grew cold. That's right you're not here and never going to be.
He went to where the little pink crib was, his daughter was squirming and crying. If the neighbors weren't so understanding they would be knocking at his door every night.
The baby's crying was getting louder. He tried feeding the baby but she wasn't even hungry, he tried cradling but the crying kept coming, there was no sign of her stopping anytime soon. He wishes you were here, you would know what to do. Your touches were able to calm him down when he was stressed before, and he believes it'll be the same for his daughter too. No baby would ever reject a mother's touch.
He tried rocking the cradle gently hoping it what his daughter wants. He grew frustrated at himself. He doesn't know what to do, why his daughter couldn't stop crying unlike before where she was very lenient of her father.
"Please stop crying" He begged his daughter. She didn't, she kept wailing.
He wished you were here. He wanted to see you holding the baby to stop her crying and calm your baby down.
He couldn't help but also weep with his daughter. He missed you so much. And with that thought a few tears drip down at the infant's face.
He wiped the tears on his daughters face, but it was useless as new tears kept sliding down on her plushed cheeks.
He couldn't even wipe his own.
Then another memory dread his mind as his breathe hitched suddenly remembering what the doctor had said.
Newborns could not live without their mothers.
He couldn't help but only pray and beg
"Please be healthy"
"Please don't get sick"
"I'll buy all the things you want"
He closed his eyes kissing the temple of his daughter. He was scared that he might lose her too.
"Just please-..please don't leave dad too"

Albedo
It was rare for Albedo to come down from his lab all the way up in Dragonspine to the City of Mondstadt. You never really minded it, knowing that you could go there to see him at any time, while he also paid regular visits to your home.
Yet, for some time now.. those visits have stopped. He never came by anymore, far too consumed on some discovery he apparently made a few weeks ago.
Even when you travelled all the way to his laboratory on the mountain, in the icy colds of Dragonspine, Albedo had given you no attention whatsoever.
He had acknowledged your arrival, then went back to his work, while you were sitting in some corner by the fire, trying to warm up again. Even your attempts at conversation were flat out ignored, seeing as he never bothered to give an answer. You weren't even sure if he had noticed your departure a few hours after you had initially arrived.
You tried again two more times, but as you got the same result every time, you eventually stopped trying and didn't go back to Dragonspine.
Then, two weeks ago, you heard that Albedo was back in the city for a supply run.
Hoping that you would run into him to finally talk to him you spend your day in Mondstadt, but you never laid eyes upon him. When you asked Sucrose about it, she told you that he had already left again.
You went home to see if he made a trip there and you just so happened to miss him. But upon your return, you didn't find any note from him or any other indication that he had ever been here in the first place.
The same thing happened again a week after that, and by now you finally had enough. You went to the Acting Grand Master and she told you that Albedo would be back today again, to drop of some reports.
Which is why you were waiting for him outside of the Knights of Favonius headquarters, though still in some respectable distance.
When you finally saw him again after a few weeks, it felt like you haven't seen him for a lifetime.
So, without hesitation, you made your way over to him before he could enter the building. Yet, he seemed to be so deep into his own head that Albedo didn't even notice your approach.
Only when you were directly behind him and firmly said "Albedo.", did he stop and turn around, looking at you.
You could see the expression in his eyes once his gaze landed on you, like he had a sudden realization that you still existed and he had forgotten about that until that very moment. It honestly hurt.
"Hey. Where have you been all this time? I missed you..", you said, hoping to get some kind of positive reaction out of him.
"You know where I was, (name). I was busy.", he said and then turned around to leave again. You were honestly astounded that he simply wanted to let things stand as they are. Well, not today and most definitely not with you.
"You wanna leave? Just like that? Seriously?"
That seemed to have at least some kind of effect on him, as he stopped once again and turned in your direction. Except for this time, he wore an annoyed expression.
"What else do you want from me? I said that I'm busy."
After that, an argument broke out between the two of you in the middle of the street, but neither of you cared. No matter how much attention you drew upon you, it was too late now. You were both to heated and too caught up in it to stop now.
Things were said in the heat of the argument, you were sure both of you regretted ever saying out loud, yet neither of you could care less right now. Everything seemed to be fair game at this point.
Until Albedo said one specific thing.
"Archons, you're impossible sometimes, (name). Insufferable. I've better things to do right now, you know!"
Immediatly after he said that, Albedo knew he had crossed a line. The way you went silent, no comeback falling from your lips. You were just staring at him in shock, like you couldn't believe that he had just actually said that. He wanted to retract his statement, but his pride prevented him from doing so.
So, instead, you both just stood there for some time, silently staring at one another. When no reply came from you, Albedo dropped his head, then turned around once again. But before he could take a step, he heard your voice again, though this time, it sounded broken, silent sobs being held back.
"So, that's it? Was I nothing to you?", you whispered, your voice slowly starting to break from the tears forming within you, but Albedo was still able to hear you. "Just some kind of experiment or plaything that you can toss aside and simply forget about? Do I mean nothing to you?"
Upon hearing how broken you sounded, and what you actually said to him, he instantly turned around again, the sight of tears rolling down your face feeling like a knive had been thrust straight into his heart. And what's worst was that he was the cause for your tears.
You stood there, waiting for an answer from him. Yet, when nothing seemed to come out off his opening and closing mouth, you just nodded at him.
"I see..", you said, your voice now entirely void of any emotion whatsoever. That, and the fact that you were the one now turning around to leave him like that, was the twist of the imaginary knive in his chest.
Finally being able to break free of his frozen state, he rushed towards you, stopping you in your tracks as he pulled you into his chest, caging your arms around you, burying his face against your shoulder.
"I'm sorry.. I'm sorry.. I'm sorry..", he whispered over and over into your ear, which only made the tears fall from your eyes even harder. You were shaking against him, struggling to breath. You wanted to break free from him, but at the same time, you never wanted to leave his embrace again.
"I'm so sorry, (name). You're wrong. You mean everything to me. I'm sorry I made you feel like that wasn't the case. And I apologize for the horrible things I said to you."
You stood there for a few more seconds, basking in his arms, then decided to slip free. Albedo let you, almost certain that you would be walking away from him now.
But you didn't.
Instead, you turned around to look at him, allowing him to see your tear stained face that he was the cause of.
"I think... we have a lot to talk about..", you mumbled, not being able to look him in the eyes entirely. But Albedo still saw it as what it was supposed to be.
A chance. A second chance to talk things out with you, make it better between you two.
And he gladly took that chance.
From now on, he would do anything to put a smile on your face every day, never wanting to be the cause for your tears ever again.

Cyno
Two months.
That was how long it has been since you had your boyfriend to yourself for more than a few hours.
Every day, he came back from his work much more later than he usually would, sometimes even not coming home for days on end. He didn't even leave a note or something to inform you of his absence, making you even more worried about him.
And now, even when he was at home with you, he was so cold and distant towards you. Sometimes, he went straight to take a shower and then to bed, not even sparing you a second. Other times, he did spend time with you, but you could tell that his mind was somewhere else, giving only short answers to your questions and statements.
Seeing all this, you couldn't help the doubt starting to well up inside you.
Did he fall out of love with you?
Did you do something wrong? Was he mad at you?
Was he... cheating on you?
You didn't want to think any of these possibilities true, but it was hard to ignore them when Cyno was behaving like this.
You tried to talk to him about this, how you felt, a few times, but he never really listened to you, keeping the conversation short so you couldn't bring your point across.
And now, you began to not only doubt him and the relationship as a whole, you doubted everything.
Did he ever even love you?
Was he only doing this out of convenience?
Were you just.. something expandable to him?
All of these questions and doubts plagued your mind day in and day out, not being able to find any answers to them whatsoever. The only one being able to give you the answers you so desperately wanted and needed, refused to give them to you.
It was driving you insane.
And now, you hit your breaking point. You weren't able to take it anymore. The constant doubt had turned itself into a depressive episode. You wanted to break free from it, but you also wanted to give Cyno one final chance. One chance to explain himself to you, to tell you the truth.
If he refused again, you would not hesitate to leave. Your mind was made up, everything was arranged. You had a small bag prepared, filled with clothing and other stuff you needed.
Tighnari had offered you to stay for a few days at Gandharva Ville where you could sort yourself out if you were not able to talk things through with Cyno. You were so grateful to him, though a small part in you still hoped that it wouldn't come down to this.
That evening, you waited and waited for Cyno to return home from work, but with every passing hour that he didn't show up, you lost more and more hope that he would come home at all today.
You sighed and were about to get up from your spot in the living room to go to bed, when the sound of the front door opening caught your attention. After all, it could only be one person that has the other key to the apartement.
"Welcome back!", you greeted him as you went out to the hallway, seeing your boyfriend standing there. He looked at you with a tired expression but didn't say anything in return.
Instead, he walked right past you, not sparing you another glance. You were baffled, to say the least. That blatant ignorance from him was what gave you the last push you had needed.
"Seriously?", you just said, turning around to face him again, this time though, wearing a stone cold expression.
"(Name), please. Not right now. I'm tired in case you didn't notice."
"Oh, I did notice. But I don't care anymore, Cyno. We have to talk."
"Please, (name). We can talk tomorrow, okay? I just want to go to bed now, not argue about something trivial."
Oh, he really dealt the final blow with that one.
"So, that's it? Do I even mean nothing to you? Was I just some kind of object you can forget about? Does this relationship even mean anything to you anymore?", you threw all of that towards him, not caring that you got more and more worked up with every word you said.
When you were met with nothing but silence from him, you took that as his answer to your questions.
"Okay..", was all you said, turning around and grabbing your packed bag before you went out the door, not even sparing Cyno one last glance. You just wanted to get out of there.
Cyno just stood there for a few minutes, still looking at the spot were you were standing before. Only now did the events catch up to his tired mind, yet he still didn't move.
He saw the defeated look on your face, the way your shoulders slumped at his dismissiveness, but he shrugged it off. Instead of running after you and trying to mend this misunderstanding, he went to the bathroom, took a shower and then made himself comfortable in the bed.
He was sure you would have returned by tomorrow and then you could talk about it.
....
Two days.
Two days have gone by and you still hadn't returned home. By this point, Cyno was beyond worried about you. After all, it was dark when you went out and he hasn't heard from you since then and no one in the city seemed to have seen you, either.
Thinking back to your last words towards him made him want to beat his past self up for not sitting down and talking to you then and there. For not running after you and bringing you back. Back to him where you belonged to.
He knew that he was neglecting you these past two months. It's not like he wanted to do so. Work has been increasing for him, the sages at the Academiya were up to something, and not of the good kind.
It put a lot of pressure on him, yet at the same time, he had to try and keep a low profile, for his sake as well as yours. But in doing so, he didn't even notice how much he had distanced himself from you. He really wanted to punch himself in the face for that, but it's not like that would bring you back to him, so he refrained from it.
He had been searching for you almost the entire day when you hadn't returned yet again. But his search seemed to not be granted success today either.
Not knowing what else to do, he decided to head over to Gandharva Ville. Maybe Tighnari would be willing to listen to him and maybe have a suggestion on how he could find you and apologize to you.
Once he arrived, he immediately made his way over to his friends hut, not caring for all the looks other people gave him. He was used to it at this point anyways.
As expected, he found Tighnari sitting at his table, scrunched over some research report. Upon his entry, his ear twitched and he looked at his friend. Cyno did find it odd however, that his friend looked at him with such a surprised expression. After all, it wasn't unusual for him to arrive unannounced.
"Cyno? What are you doing here?"
"What, can't visit a friend anymore?", he said jokingly, though it didn't sound convincing at all, judging by the look on Tighnari's face.
"You're right..", Cyno sighed instead, grabbing an empty chair and sitting beside his friend. "I need your help. It's about (name).."
"Oh, that situation? Yeah, I've heard about it from them already."
"You did? From who? And when?", Cyno asked, suddenly gaining new hope. If you were here, he might still have a chance at finding you.
"From them. I offered them a place to stay for a few days. Though after everything they told me, I didn't think you would actually search for them."
So you were here... and his best friend knew about the situation and was severly judging him. Cyno knew he deserved it, but he still wanted to try and make things right again.
"Tighnari, please tell me where they are. I need to talk to them. Please."
Tighnari looked at him long and hard, most likely trying to assess his intentions.
With a sigh, he then turned back around, focusing his attention back to his research. "I gave them the open cottage on the other side of the village. They should be in there, seeing as they haven't left it since they arrived here."
"Thanks.", Cyno mumbled, scrambling to get up from the chair to rush to where you are. He was almost out the door, when Tighnari's voice caught his attention again, calling his name.
Cyno turned around, facing his friend again. "Don't fuck it up again.", he advised, to which Cyno nodded his head. He wouldn't, he would make sure of that.
When he arrived at your temporary residence, he immediately went to knock on the door. He waited outside for a few seconds, but no reply.
So he knocked again, more urgent this time.
Still no reply.
"(Name)!", he exclaimed this time, knocking on your door again, but still to no avail.
Getting desperate, he decided to just try and see if the door was unlocked or not.
It was. The door slid open soundlessly, inviting him inside. Carefully, he walked inside, letting his eyes take in the interior. Since the door and most of the windows have been shut, it was almost dark in here, and to top it off, he didn't hear a sound.
He was almost panicing again, thinking that you might have actually left this place, until his eyes fell on the bed, and on it, he saw your sleeping figure.
Relief flooded over him, finally being able to see you again and to actually have the knowledge that you were safe and sound.
He then walked closer to you, only to take in your state. You may have looked peaceful sleeping like this, but your eyes were red and swollen, telling him that you had cried before falling asleep. And he knew that the reason for your sadness had been him.
The need to punch himself rose again, for making you feel this way when he had promised to do everything in his power to never do that.
Instead, he decided to crouch down on the floor, next to the bed, gently taking your hand into his, placing a soft kiss to the back of your hand.
He would wait here until you woke up again, no matter how many hours from now that would be. He would wait for you and ask you to please consider talking to him.
He wanted to properly explain himself and apologize to you. Whatever you decided on doing afterwards, he would comply by it. If you wanted to break up with him, he would understand that. If you decided to give him a second chance, he would thank you on his hands and knees.
But that decision would be yours to make and he was prepared to accept whatever would be thrown his way. But for now, he was content with simply holding your hand, quietly enjoying your presence which he had missed so much...

Alhaitham
The Scribe of the Academiya has been getting more and more busy these days. Well, for now, it's best to say "former" Scribe, since he has been temporarely promoted to Acting Grand Sage.
You knew that your boyfriend had absolutely zero intention of keeping that position, even if he was more than befitting for it, seeing how knowledgeable he was.
But he much rather prefered a simple life, and you couldn't argue with that logic. Who wouldn't like that, especially when pay and work hours weren't really affected either way.
Still, for now, both you and him had to live with the changed circumstances, even though neither of you were happy with them.
Alhaitham was working even more now, trying to sort out certain matters until a new Grand Sage has been chosen. You haven't really seen or talked to him in days, yet you brushed it off, telling yourself that it would change again once he got his old position back again.
Sure, he may have cancelled a few dates and had to call off a get together with your parents, but that was perfectly understandable.
You continued to give yourself excuse after excuse, hoping that soon enough, things would get back to the way they were before all of this had happened.
Couldn't take too long...right?
...
Three hours..
You had waited for him, at Puspa Café, where you were supposed to meet for your first ever date in ages again.
And he didn't show up... Again.
You wanted to give Alhaitham the benefit of the doubt, but it was getting increasingly more difficult for you.
When you got to the home you shared with him, you were greeted by an eerie silence, telling you, that he wasn't even home to begin with.
Probably still at the Academiya, working.
You sigh, adding yet another dissapointment to the list, as you went into the bathroom to get changed into more comfortable clothes. To think that you dressed up for the occaison, only to experience heartbreak again.
It's really starting to get difficult for you to forgive him for all this stuff.
....
Yet another date cancelled by him, thanks to not showing up... Again..
But this time, he didn't even come home in the evening.
It had you worried about him beyond anything, not knowing what was going on since he always came back.
You didn't sleep that night at all, only for him to angrily walk through the front door at three in the morning, mumbling something about the incompetence of the people he was forced to work with.
He only spared a glance in your direction before he went straight into the bedroom. By the time you got in there as well, he was already fast asleep in the bed. And when you woke up in the morning, he was already gone, not even leaving you with a note or anything like he usually would.
Somehow, this was your last straw.
You endured the exact same scenario so many times before. Yet, somehow, this time was just one too many times.
Next time, you promised yourself, next time you see him, you would talk to him about it, no matter if he wanted or not. Because if you didn't then there was no reason in your eyes to continue this dying relationship.
....
Turns out, the next time you would see him would once again be in the dead of the night, thanks to Alhaitham not coming home again any earlier.
When he walked through the door, he was surprised to see you still awake. Normally, you would already be asleep and he would just silently slip under the covers next to you, enjoying what little he was able to get from being close to you again gave him, before he was also knocked out cold.
But with you standing there in front of him, expression cold and hard, he knew something was up with you. And yet, he just didn't have the energy to deal with that right now. He just wanted to sleep.
"We need to talk, Alhaitham."
No greeting, no nicknames, no nothing. You were definitely upset, yet he still tried to get out off talking right now.
"Can we do this tomorrow, (name)? I'm tired."
"You mean like all the other times you promised me something and then stood me up? No, I think not. We talk about this now."
Oh, so that's what got you so upset?
"Look, I told you I would be busy for some time until things at the Academiya get sorted out. You can't tell me you didn't know about this.", he tried to reason with you, but it only seemed to upset you even more.
"You did say that.. but it's been weeks since I've last actually talked to you. It feels more like I'm your housekeeper right now, not your partner."
"This is absurd. Now you're just thinking too much into things, (name)."
After that statement, an argument broke out between you two, right here in the hallway where you "greeted" Alhaitham. You weren't full on shouting at each other, but you were talking pretty loudly. If people were to walk by outside, they could probably hear every word you guys were throwing at each other.
But neither of you cared right now.
At some point, Alhaitham walked past you, into the living room, trying to escape the argument. But you insisted on continuing it, following him into the room and at this point, he was getting fed up with the situation.
"Archons, (name)! Can you just shut up and leave me be? I don't have time for trivial things right now!"
Immediately after he said that, you went silent and his words caught up with him as well.
He looked at you, saw how tears started to form in your eyes and instantly regretted ever letting those words fall out of his mouth. Nothing was more important than you in his eyes, and yet, he still said that to you. Like you didn't mean the world to him, which you did.
"(Name)-!"
"So, what? Was i really nothing to you? Was i just some kind of object that you can just forget about that easily? To toss aside when you don't want it anymore?"
You hated how your voice cracked halfway through, how tears started to escape your eyes. And despite how much his words had hurt you, you still didn't want to run from the situation. You had to see it through.
"If that is how you truly feel about me, maybe we should end-!"
Before you were able to end your sentence, you were suddenly pushed against a strong chest, warm arms keeping you in an embrace you had longed so much for, yet right now, it wasn't comforting at all.
"Let go off me..", you stated weakly, giving no indication that you planned to reciprocate his sign of affection.
"Never..", he whispered, and with the way he sounded right now, you could almost think that he was starting to cry as well. Almost..
"I'm so sorry, (name). I truly didn't mean to say that. Please, you have to believe me, I don't mean it. You are not trivial to me, nor is our relationship.
I.. I love you. I truly do. Though I don't openly say it that often, that doesn't mean my words hold any less truth in them. You have to believe me."
"I want to... I really want to believe you, Alhaitham. But with the way things are and have been for those weeks... I don't think I can.."
By now, the tears are streaming freely from your face and you weakly put your hands against his chest, needing some kind of stability.
"Then let me prove it to you. Let me prove to you that I still love you like the first day, that I never stopped loving you, even if my words and actions made you think otherwise."
You were silent after that for some time, thinking it over. You had no idea what the best course of action for you would be, but in the end, you decided to go with what your heart was telling you. Wether or not you would regret that decision, you had to find that out in the future.
"...One more chance. You better don't fuck up again or I'm leaving for good.", you mumbled against his chest, his shirt already stained with your tears, but neither you nor Alhaitham cared about that in the slightest.
All he could focus on, was you in his arms and the fact you granted him with another chance. And he intended to use it the best he could.

Kazuha
Between travelling around the different nations and helping out Beidou on board of the Alchor from time to time, Kazuha never really had much time.
You love Kazuha. You really do...
But sometimes, you just can't help but wonder if you even have a relationship with him at this point.
When he's gone again, for weeks or sometimes even months on end, and the only form of communication with him stems from a few letters sprinkled in between here and there, how could you not doubt?
In the beginning, you used to travel around with him. And while you enjoyed the time spent with your boyfriend, getting to see all those different places and creating wonderful memories with him, you eventually grew tired of it.
That's not to say that you didn't enjoy wandering around the nations with Kazuha by your side, but you just couldn't imagine spending your entire life like this. Never being provided with a place of your own, to call your home, constantly on the go.
It just wasn't your way of living.
Kazuha understood that and would never force you to accompany him, just like you would never force him to stay with you, even when sometimes the loneliness just got more to you than on other days.
He always came back to you, but he never stayed for more than a few days before he was out the door again, not to be seen for an unknown amount of time.
It was difficult, living like this. You tried to live off the memories and happy moments you had with him when he was here with you, but it wasn't enough anymore. You wanted him by your side again, but you also knew that he would suffer in the long run if you were to ask him to stay here with you.
However, in your mind, it also wasn't an option to just leave thing unmentioned.
Which is why you made the desicion, that the next time he would come home to you, you needed to talk to him about your thoughts and feelings, in hopes you could come to a solution together.
.....
Turns out, the next time he's home again would be three months later. And like always, only letters could have been exchanged throughout this entire time.
Kazuha already had a sneaking suspicion that something wasn't right with you. He couldn't exactly pinpoint it, but the way you were writing in these letters sounded off from your usual way, which is also why he tried to make it back to you as soon as he could. He felt bad that it still took him this long, but there was nothing he could have done about it.
The city he resided in when he got that particular letter from you underwent a strict lockdown only hours later, due to a prisoner escaping. The entire city had been shut down to find him as quickly as possible, all forms of communication had also been cut short.
It took them three weeks to apprehend the convict again, and as soon as the city doors opened again, Kazuha was out of them and on his way back to you.
...
When Kazuha arrived back at the little cottage the two of you shared, it was in the late afternoon.
Already, when he opened the door, he was absolutely certain now that something was wrong. Usually, you would come running to greet him at the first noise or hint that he had come back.
But now? Nothing.
"(Name)? I'm back!", he yelled, in hopes of getting your attention this way, but still, no reaction. Maybe you were out buying groceries or something?
Still, Kazuha decided to wander through the different rooms, just to make sure he wouldn't miss anything. And now, he's glad that he did as he saw you sitting on the patio, wrapped up in a comfortable blanket.
As he approached you, he noticed that you must be deep in your thoughts, just staring ahead of you. He gently opened the door and when that also didn't seem to catch your attention, he decided to speak up.
"Darling?", he asked, cautiously, not wanting to spook you.
You flinched a little at the unexpected sound coming from behind you, but just as quickly, you relaxed again, realizing who that voice belonged to.
"Kazuha. You're back.", you stated, grazing him with a small smile as you turned around to look at him, but nothing more. Normally, you would jump up into his arms, almost taking his breath away.
But Kazuha didn't say anything about it, instead, he grabbed one of the other chairs and sat right beside you. He gently took one of your hands into his, holding it like that. He missed this, missed this physical contact with you.
"Please.. Tell me what's been bothering you, darling."
"....was I that obvious?", you asked, causing a small smile to appear on Kazuha's lips. But he didn't answer, instead waited for you to continue on.
You sighed, fixing your gaze away from him and ahead of you again, thinking about how to best approach this. It was silent for a few minutes until you spoke up again.
"It's just... You're always gone for so long that I-!"
Before you could actually finish your sentence, Kazuha began to groan beside you, making you look at him in confusion.
"(Name).. you know that I don't like being bound to one place."
"I know that, but-!"
"No but's! You knew what you were involving yourself in by being with me. Why are we even having this conversation now?"
You were shocked, not expecting Kazuha to immediately get so defensive about this. All you wanted was to talk to him and maybe propose an idea you had got when he was away. But the way he was acting right now made you feel bitter.
"Can you just listen to me? I'm not trying to confine you, I just-!"
"Yes, you are, (name). What else could you possibly want to achieve by beginning the conversation like that?"
Fed up from being interrupted by him a third time now, you've had enough. An argument started to ensue, when you didn't even intend for this to happen.
You've never experienced something like this with Kazuha, he was always level-headed, calm and collected. So why was he suddenly getting so defensive over this topic. It really wasn't like you were trying to hold him here.
But, with each thing said, both you and him grew more and more heated, the shouting starting to get louder and louder, until Kazuha suddenly stood up.
"If I knew you would get like that, maybe I shouldn't have returned at all."
As you heard him say that, you instantly went silent, looking at him with your eyes wide open.
No.. he couldn't mean that, right?
It also now seemed to catch up to Kazuha what he just said, as he also turned to look at you, shock written all over his face.
"(Name), I...", he began to stay, but trailed off, not knowing what he even wanted to say in the first place. He knew he had fucked up with that statement.
"So, that's it? I wasn't anything to you? Just something you can toy with when you get bored, only to be thrown away when you don't want me anymore?"
A single tear escaped you, running down your cheek and Kazuha immediately had the instinct to wipe it away from your beautiful face, to pull you into his arms and tell you how sorry he was.
So he did just that, pulling you into him, holding your face against his chest as he held your head secure with his hand, your tears now starting to come out freely.
"I'm so sorry, darling. I didn't mean to say such horrible things. No words can express how much I regret ever letting them out of my mouth."
You weren't able to answer him, your breathing being erratic, trying to choke down your sobs and crys. It positively broke Kazuha's heart that he was the immediate cause for this.
He just let you cry in his arms until you calmed down again, all the while he kept apologizing to you over and over, telling you how much he loved you and how much you meant to him.
The two of you would have to continue this conversation, but not today. Not when both of you were this wound up from everything that had happened.
The talking could be done tomorrow. Now was the time for healing...

“You made me think I actually mattered.” fem! reader x albedo | part two.
warnings: angst, arguments, hurt/no comfort, crying, heartbreak, mentions of major character death, albedo is a big fat jerk (love him tho, just not here LMAO)
Tumblr media
Days, weeks, hell, even months have passed since the last time you spent a passionate moment with your lover, Albedo. The more you tried to comprehend, the more you convinced yourself that he was just too busy with his duties, the more you couldn't.
Was it really that difficult for him to spare you one moment of his time? Did you really stop being important to him? or has he entirely forgotten about you? Surely not, right?
Numerous days and nights were spent alone and unhappy. By the time your so-called lover got home, you'd be exhausted and soundly sleeping in your shared bedroom. When you wake up, you're greeted by his side of the bed, all empty and cold.
it was as if he didn't exist anymore— or perhaps you didn't exist to him anymore?
A soft sigh resonated through the cold room. You sat up immediately, silently cursing yourself as your head spun from the unexpected action. You get out of the shared bed after your spinning head has settled down, slightly wincing as your feet come into contact with the cold floor. You paid it no mind and walked mindlessly to the bathroom. Your mind had become tired after running millions of miles and was now completely empty, with no thoughts.
You looked at yourself in the mirror. You weren't stupid; you know how much you've neglected yourself. exactly like he's neglecting you. Another exhausted sigh left your lips as you swiftly got ready, but for what? You had no idea.
You were completely clean and washed as you exited the bathroom. Hopefully presentable for the rest of the world. Maybe you should pay Albedo a visit. But just thinking of dragonspine's freezing chilly atmosphere sent shivers down your spine.
You mentally shook the thought and prepared to leave, not bothering to eat anything to fill your empty stomach. It's all right, you're used to it.
You hurriedly put on your shoes, double-checked your belongings and keys, and officially exited as you twisted the knob of your shared home's door shut.
You couldn't help but be excited for some reason. What are you excited about? Maybe for Albedo? You just hoped by the time you made it to his lab, he would give you a single ounce of attention— affection.
You wasted no time in heading towards the chilly mountain. The cold breeze caused goosebumps to creep all over your porcelain skin. Every breath you breathed became visible before fading into thin air.
You arrived at your lover's lab after an exhausting journey. You hurried up your feet, choosing to run despite the slippery floor and the cold air that made it difficult to breathe.
And finally, you made it to your lover. Though your big warm smile was quickly wiped off your face as he didn't even bother to acknowledge you, eyes focused on whatever he was doing. It's okay, maybe he just didn't notice.
"H...hey! albedo, my love!" You said in between your gasps of air. A pang in your chest; you don't know whether it was because your lover ignored you or the icy cold air that crept into your lungs.
A sliver of hope ran through your shivering body as you saw him whip his head towards you. "Oh, y/n, what are you doing here?" he said with a raised brow. Yet not long after, his head was turned back to whatever he was doing. You frown at this. Sure, he had spared you a single glance, but it wasn't enough. It was never enough.
"Oh... well, I just wanted to see you... That's it..." you responded, voice slowly becoming smaller with each word you let out. Your orbs were now staring holes into the snowy ground.
You nervously shifted your eyes from the ground towards your lover as you were met with silence. Did he not hear you? Maybe you shouldn't have visited after all. Maybe you should've known that it would end up like this once again.
"Um, I wanted to see you-" You tried explaining yourself again, only to get cut off by his slightly irritated voice. "I heard you. No need to repeat yourself over and over again." You could feel yourself taken aback at his sudden change of tone. The small crunch of snow underneath you was heard as you unconsciously stepped back.
"Sorry," you whispered. Why were you apologizing? You did nothing wrong; you never did. So why did you feel like this? A deafening silence engulfed the icy atmosphere as Albedo continued to focus on his work.
You wanted to see him, right? Was that it? Were you expecting more? Did you want to do more? Of course you did.
You lightly took a deep breath before you started walking towards him. Your ears, hands, and cheeks were bright red because of the chilly breeze, as you wore only one layer of clothing. How did you even manage to get up here without freezing to death?
"What... are you doing?" Hopefully you weren't disturbing him as you took a peek at whatever he was doing right now. Why was it that it was much more important than you? to the point that all of his attention was all over it?
"Work." His response was blunt but vague. It made you frown at yourself. You took a small step closer, a mere inch away from each other, as you tried to understand what his 'work' is.
"Look, you're disturbing my experiment right now. It's much better if you go back down the mountain and return home, he said, eyes still on his... 'work'. A feeling of hurt crept up into your stomach. Your brows now knitted together as you shifted your gaze towards your lover.
After all the energy you spent climbing up the cold, snowy mountain, he has the audacity to say this? Did he ever care about you? Hell, you were trembling because of the cold breeze, yet this is what fills his mind? his experiment?
"Oh." You didn't know how you should feel or what you were feeling at all. Her soft orbs were now covered with a faint glaze as she furrowed her brows in frustration. "Do you even care?" Your own words shocked you as you pressed your freezing fingertips against your lips. You fucked up.
Tears were starting to prick the corners of your eyes as you looked at Albedo nervously. You didn't mean to say that out loud. You just felt frustrated and unloved. Albedo turned his face towards you, seeming unfazed as he raised his brow.
"What?" he asked as he shifted his attention to you. Your body was freezing and trembling, whether it be because of the cold wind or nervousness; you couldn't care less. Your mind was running millions of miles.
But you knew very well that this had to be said. You were getting tired of him constantly neglecting you and constantly excusing himself by saying that he was just too busy with work. You didn't even know how you managed to keep up with him every night, greeting him at the door only to be met with silence as he walks past you, or when he would return late at night, or when he didn't return home at all.
You could feel yourself take a deep breath before you tried to calm your thoughts. "Albedo, can we... talk?" You hoped that he took it as a sign that something was wrong. that everything was wrong.
"If it's another one of your stupid rants about me always not having time for you, then no, we can't." he sighed in annoyance before turning back to his work.
You were getting tired of this. You couldn't hold on to what you'd been feeling anymore. Everything you've been bottling up is slowly starting to surface again.
"Do you even care about me anymore? These past few months felt like a living hell as you continued to neglect me every. single. day! I know. I know that you're busy. Busy with work. With everything! But can't you just at least spare me a single moment of your time? Is it that hard? Or am I just a big waste of your time?!"
Your sudden outburst shocked Albedo, who was not expecting you to suddenly raise your voice. "Y/N, calm down. Geez. I already told you many, many times that I have to finish my work. It's my duty! Do I have to repeat it every single time to you?" he scoffed as he shook his head.
"I know that! I know that very well! That you're busy with work because you're the chief alchemist of the Favonius! But I'm getting tired! Are we even lovers at this point?! Even when you're next to me, it feels like you're miles away." The argument was quickly getting heated, despite the freezing wind.
Our loud voices echoed throughout the snowy mountains, hopefully not catching the attention of wandering monsters. but that is the least of your problems right now.
Your cheeks burned red from anger as your face was contorted into a furious expression. You just wanted everything to turn back to normal, to what it used to be. when you were still spending time smothering each other with love.
"You know what, Y/n? If you're going to be this clingy and annoying, then it's better if we just end it. It was getting tiring anyway." The tears that you were trying so hard to fight back quickly streamed down your face as Albedo spat hurtful words at your face.
"You made me think I actually mattered." All of a sudden, the breeze felt as cold as ever. And the air felt heavy and tense. It made it hard to breathe as your chest heaved up and down rapidly.
That's it? It's all over? Just like that?
"Well, you don't. Not anymore. So goodbye. Please leave my lab and never return." It was as if your heart was slowly shattering at every word he spoke out. Bitter tears are flowing down your now tear-stained cheek continuously.
You let out a shaky breath before taking small steps back, hoping that we would take back his words. That he would say he was joking and that he was sorry. But he didn't.
You called yourself pathetic. You were the one who was being mistreated, and now that you're free, you're supposed to be happy. Yet you weren't. It just made you feel much more miserable. His words echoed through your head repeatedly. As if it was haunting you.
You grit your teeth before you turn away from your now-ex-lover. Your cold fingertips were wiping away your salty tears as you walked down the walk of shame. Your vision was slowly getting disoriented as tears continued to flow uncontrollably.
Suddenly, you could feel your feet step on nothing. You quickly shifted your focus onto your path before realizing you were on the broken bridge. You realized you'd fallen down because you weren't paying attention to where you were going.
You could feel yourself fall numerous feet down as tears stopped falling.
But it's okay, you didn't even matter anyway, right?

in my heart - in my head - tell me why this has to end ?
albedo , xiao x reader
summary : his insecurities in a relationship with you
warning : none [ angst themes - comfort ]
albedo ( kreideprinz )
Tumblr media
no relationship is perfect, you knew that
but...
you couldn't help the pressure in your chest, like you couldn't breathe sometimes each time you spent overthinking on nights like this
you often felt distant from your boyfriend
at times you'd feel like you couldn't reach albedo at all
like he was far away from you, too far from your reach
sure he'd hold your hand and share kisses here and there
but despite the few acts of physical intimacy, you really didn't feel anything different from when you two were just friends
in the early stages of relationship, albedo would struggle showing vulnerability and showing his love to you -especially verbally
albedo is painfully aware of his artificial existence - too much in fact
because of that, each act declaring his love for you is restricted with his consciousness
he did promise that he'd love you, care for you
and to do... this together with you. he'd be your companion in this wondrous thing called 'life'
and he was aware he wasn't alone like he was before
this awareness, unfortunately becomes heavier as time went on
every time he holds your hand, he is reminded that he is different from you
although it's damn near impossible to guess what this man's thinking of, you get a rare glimpse of his vulnerability when his grip on your hand tightens ever so slightly
every time you smiled at him, placed fleeting kisses on his cheek, or whispered words of 'love' in his ear so, so sweetly
he couldn't help but wonder if what he was feeling was enough for you
was he... humane enough? was he, an artificial being, really enough for you ?
shouldn't he be loving you more? shouldn't he... do more? as a proof, as appreciation for your time, effort and everything else?
albedo felt like he was drowning in your love at times, in a good way
your love felt warm, embracing and understanding of his every being
it left him feeling unsure if he is making you feel as loved as you should be
in his eyes, you deserve the best that could ever exist in this world, and frankly he was unsure if he was fit to provide that for you
you'd need to drag him out of the vast ocean that is his mind often
the brilliant alchemist might not trust verbal affirmations much, but when you hug him like that, when you hold him in your arms like this
for once, he felt like he was wrong for his negative hypothesis - like his worries were for vain.
xiao ( alatus )
Tumblr media
xiao's own mind and cautiousness hurts both of you much more than he could ever imagine
he has never felt equal to you, ever
in his eyes, you're up in the skies, more divine than all of the archons that govern over teyvat, you shone brighter than any entity he has ever seen in his painfully long lifetime
and he... is a general, he was meant for killing, bloodshed and battlefield. it's all he's ever known and possibly all he will ever know
although he's trying to be true to himself, true to his own feelings and emotions, xiao has never had the liberty to be those things
never in his millenniums worth of existence did he ever expect to find someone like you
you're so patient, tender and gentle to him
no matter the sharp-edged words and indifferent attitude he throws at you unwillingly, xiao's dedication to you is fierce
he promised you his protection, faith and diligence - he will honor his words no matter what
but when you're there by his side, holding his hand with both of yours, letting him lean onto your shoulder as he feels the weight of the world crashing down on him for what seems like the millionth time- he is so, so scared
sure, he's received a locket from Morax to guard you from the dangers of being close to an adeptus and he knew you wore it at all times
he's a monster inside, he is unworthy of your tender, pure love - xiao repeats the words over and over in his mind unconsciously
he can't help but doubt his worth when he sees your beautiful smile, and gosh he loved you so much it hurts
it hurts so much that you're mortal, you're so fragile and... have a short life
he dreads, fears every single moment for the inevitable, the moment for your mortal life to end, bringing his soul altogether with yours back to the perpetual blue sky where you were born from, as he imagined
you were aware of how he felt, how could you not be? when he clung onto you like you were about to leave any moment, your eyes watered ever so lightly
you embraced him as gently as possible, whispering into his ear quietly but firmly
"i'm by your side. i'm right here, alatus... i'm right here next to you."
as his negative thoughts eventually faded and he is faced with your sublime beauty, all he could do was melt into your embrace and wish this moment was to continue for all eternity

Angst with no happy ending (implied reincarnation for you and him, he always keeps his memories for some reason).
Might turn this into a full fic/polish it up one day
Reblogs are welcome
He knew it.
He saw it.
He watched you fall apart.
Crumbling away like a stone statue turning back into sand.
And he was helpless
He couldn't do anything to comfort you.
He couldn't hold you in his arms the way he desperately pleaded to.
He begged all the Archons and Gods of Celestia for you to feel better.
For your broken heart to heal.
For you to let him in
Your cries at night haunted his dreams
Your tired eyes tore his heart to pieces.
Your broken laugh eating away at his soul.
He wanted so badly to hold you, to shield you away from the world. To whisper to you that everything would be alright.
But he couldn't
Not when it seemed like you were a distant dream getting further and further out of his reach.
He tried to chase after you, but he knew he couldn't force you to let him in
It didn't work before
But he was afraid
Afraid of losing you again.
Afraid that you'd turn into dust and blow away in the wind
Never to be found again.
His fears came true
He lost you again
All because he took too long to approach you and comfort you.
Opening the door to your house, his heart dropped, shattered.
You weren't there.
Not a note, nothing.
You simply.... vanished.
He had to force himself to keep it together.
He wanted nothing more than to cry, mourn you, beg for your forgiveness
But he knew, he might have a chance again.
He always did.
And this time, he'd stop history from repeating itself.
He won't be afraid, he'll be everything you needed.
So when he meets you again after so many years, your face smiling and happy
He promises.
I'll keep your smile and joy. You'll never have to suffer like before.
A promise he kept on making, but this time, he was determined to keep it.

Whumptober day 1 with Albedo!
Prompt: "How many fingers am I holding up?"
Whumptober masterlist
Summary: After a particularly nasty fight, Albedo is concerned for his lover's wellbeing.
Warnings: Concussions, blood, fighting, frostbite, cracking/breaking of bones
Tumblr media
Your comissions were simple for the day. Most of them involved running around getting apples for people and feeding the pigeons.
Your last one however, invloved taking down some fatui that were lurking around Dragonspine.
No big deal, you thought. You've done this a million times before. Why would this be any different? In fact you'd even say this is fate! Now, you could visit your lover in his lab once your done.
No big deal, you thought.
..no big deal, you thought as you shivered against the harsh Dragonspine winds, clutching your side as it bleeds into the snow, the red a stark contrast to the previously pure white.
The fatui had been further up the mountain, rather than their usual camp on the outskirts. You were unprepared for the winds mixed with the ferocity of the attacks of the hydro gunner, causing frostbite to nip at your fingers.
No big deal, you thought. You can handle this, right? You're an adventurer! You do this for a living!
You can handle this. Until a fatui electro hammer appeared from the snow and landed a particularly harsh hit to your temple...
You heard a sickening crack, before you faded into darkness.
•❅───✧❅✦❅✧───❅•
Albedo couldn't shake the feeling of dread that suddenly overtook him.
He was simply minding his business in his lab as the storm picked up outside.
But for the past half hour, there's been a pit in his stomach getting deeper and deeper. The alchemist tried to ignore it, continuing on with his notes.
He couldn't wait to see you again. The nights on the mountain are long and lonely, and he longs to be in your embrace.
Albedo stands up to grab something from his shelf, but he falters- falling to his knees as he blanches.
Something is wrong.
Something is terribly wrong.
That pit in his stomach is now a black hole that threatens to consume him from the inside out. He feels his lunch attempting to come back up his throat.
Unable to shake the feeling of apprehension, Albedo grabs his coat and ventures into the snowy terrain of the mountain.
Albedo's mind immediately drifts to you. Were you ok? Did your comissions go wrong? Where were you?
Fortunately, his last question is answered rather quickly.
Albedo gets a perfect view of the electro infused hammer colliding with your skull.
And he hears the morbid crack as if it were his own head being damaged.
Albedo made quick work of the fatui.. much quicker than he would've liked, however your well being is more important.
Albedo calls your name as he skids to kneel beside you.
Shakily, he checks you pulse..
You're alive.
Albedo doesn't stop to think about how on Teyvat that's possible, he only knows he has to help you, and quick.
Gently picking you up bridal style, he rushes back to his lab.
He doesn't fail to miss how you skin feels like ice against him. Even through his clothes, he feels as though he's fallen into an icey lake, throat closing in panic.
Or maybe that was simply his fear that he could feel?
The second he made it to his lab, Albedo gently placed you on his bed, not wasting a second on tilting your head up and pouring a warming potion down your throat to help soothe your frostbitten fingers.
Albedo spends hours tending to your wounds, assesing the damage to your head-- which after inspection, it appears you have a crack in your skull, but its not serious.. yet. He would need to get you to Barbara when you're stable.
Now he sits on the edge of the bed, your hand clutched in his as he waits for you to wake up.
"Come on.. come back to me.."
Albedo thinks of the possibilities.
What if he listened to his intuition sooner?
What if he dealt with the fatui quicker?
What would he do if you died before he got you to Barabara?
What if-
As if sensing your partner's trepidation, you groan, eyes fluttering open.
Albedo gasps
"How do you feel? Do you know you're name? How many fingers am I holding up?"
"Uh.. I feel like shit, of course I know my name, and you're holding up... four?"
He was in fact, not holding up four, but two.
He sighs
"Well at least your awake. Please stay still, I'll get you some pain killers.."
You try make eye contact with the man as he stays seated after speaking.
You don't need to be able to see clearly to know what's going through his head.
'Please don't scare me like that again'
'Don't leave me'
You reach and grab his hand with hesitance
"I'm not going anywhere 'Bedo."
Tumblr media
this was shorter than intended, but I hope you enjoyed!
i lowkey kinda hate it- im tired leave me alone

Missing Letters
Pairing : Albedo x fem! reader
Tumblr media
Sypnosis : What if i tell you, a man from 1997 can comunicate with a woman in 2000 via mailbox. But then the woman suddenly stopped receiving his letters, only to find out he was long gone. He passed away before they could tell eachother how they felt, but they were never meant to be together from the start, their difference of timelines blocked through their path of love.
TW : Angst (if you squint) modern era(?)
A/N : I wanted to try something new, hope y'all enjoy! : )
Once upon a time in the year 1997, there lived a man named Albedo. He was an introverted artist who found solace in expressing himself through his paintings.
He stumbled upon an old mailbox while exploring the attic of his ancestral home. Curiosity got the better of him, and he decided to write a letter, just for the sake of nostalgia.
Unbeknownst to Albedo, his letter had somehow traveled through time and found its way into the hands of a woman named Y/N in the year 2000. Y/N was a lover of history and had great fondness for handwritten letters.
She was confused when a mysterious letter suddenly appeared in her mailbox. Adding to her confusion was that the letter was dated back to 1997. Did someone send her a letter from the past? Or was someone playing a prank on her?
Anyway, she decided to open the letter and was amazed by what she found inside. It was a heartfelt message, written in elegant handwriting, that talked about special memories and dreams from a long time ago.
Reading it made her feel a deep connection with the writer, like their words were reaching out to her from the past. It made her really curious to know who sent the letter and why it ended up in her mailbox after all these years.
The bottom part of the letter was signed by a man named Albedo.
As time went on, the frequency of letters she received from Albedo increased. They both developed a habit of writing and exchanging letters with each other.
It became a regular occurrence for Y/N to discover a letter from him, and she was always filled with excitement to read its contents. Awaiting for his letters became a normal part of her routine.
She cherished each letter she received, as they were filled with his hopes, dreams, and artistic visions.
Over time, Albedo and Y/N formed a deep connection through their letters. They shared stories, emotions, and even their innermost secrets.
Albedo felt free as he expressed himself through his words and drawings. Y/N, on the contrary, was deeply fascinated by Albedo's passion for art, and she motivated him to take his talent more seriously.
As time went by, Albedo and Y/N kept writing to each other. They both looked forward to each new letter, treasuring the words that connected their different lives.
But then, Y/N found her mailbox empty. Weeks went by, and still, no letter arrived. She grew restless. Worries filled her head.
Y/N couldn't handle not knowing anymore. She desperately wanted to find Albedo, but she had no clues about his whereabouts.
In her search for answers, she stumbled upon a museum known for its collection of stunning artworks. As an art lover, she couldn't resist the allure of exploring the exhibitions.
Walking through the halls, Y/N found herself drawn to a particular painting. It was a masterpiece that seemed to reflect Y/N unique artistic style. She stood before the artwork, her eyes fixed on the signature at the bottom. It was unmistakable. Her heart raced as she recognized the signature — the artist behind the painting was none other than Albedo himself.
Y/N's excitement knew no bounds as she hurriedly looked for the current owner of the painting. When she finally found them, she shared her story of the mysterious letters and the connection she had forged with Albedo. The owner, moved by her heartfelt tale, revealed the tragic truth.
The painting, he explained, was one of Albedo's last works — a labor of love created for the woman he cherished. Sadly, Albedo had passed away, unable to deliver the painting personally or continue their correspondence.
Y/N felt a rush of different feelings — she was sad about Albedo's death, but also grateful for being there to support and uplift him during his time.
Y/N suddenly understood how important she was to Albedo. She realized that her support and appreciation had made him believe in himself and his art.
It was because of her that he had the courage to share his work to the world, even while sending messages through mailbox.
With a renewed sense of purpose, Y/N dedicated herself to preserving Albedo's memory and sharing his artwork with others. She organized an exhibition at the museum, showcasing his paintings to the public. The event was a success, with art enthusiasts and admirers coming to witness Albedo's extraordinary talent.
Y/N's love for Albedo and his art transcended time. She continued to honor his legacy, and in the depths of her heart, she knew that Albedo's spirit would forever be intertwined with her Own — a testament to the power of their love, art, and the beauty of human connection.
Y/N understood that their paths were destined to cross, they were bound to meet but not to be together, being in different timelines was the border of their undying love. Maybe in another lifetime, they were bound to meet again.
Y/N understood that their paths were destined to cross, but their circumstances prevented them from being together. The barrier of existing in separate timelines restricted their eternal love. Perhaps in another existence, they were fated to reunite once more.

i would take a bullet for you just to prove my love
prompt: “… only to find out you are the one holding the gun”; or, in which the different reasons your love was never meant to be + small scenario!
character(s) included: xiao, albedo, kaeya
warnings: angst; break up (xiao and albedo); major character death (kaeya); blood (kaeya); destruction of mondstadt (albedo and kaeya)
genre: angst, no comfort
notes: ehehe yum angst >:3 they might be a bit ooc sorry-
Tumblr media
xiao:
it’s rex lapis.
it always was rex lapis.
all those eons of slaughter had been curbed by him after all, and he owes his whole life and body — if not more — to the god of contracts.
he would’ve wished to say that he had agreed to your relationship out of pity, but whenever he heard the voices of his karmic debt giggling and threatening him with the life of yours, he could feel himself gritting his teeth in anger, wishing nothing more but to pray that their words weren’t true.
but, as much as he loves you, xiao — no, alatus — has always only seen rex lapis.
in his eyes, rex lapis was his god, his light; as much as he loved you, you were simply not his priority in this life.
“xiao…”
“i’m sorry.”
he could feel his teeth grinding against each other, and the voices in his head cackling and screaming.
it simply wasn’t this life, he decided. it wasn’t this life where the two of you could be together, and it never would be. the heavenly principles that watched teyvat from above them all would never take pity on such a lowly yaksha. he could feel the red strings that wrapped around his body, holding his already fragile soul in their hands, inky blackness tainting it even further, even after all the bloodshed he had been involved in was over.
why, he would often find himself questioning. of all people, why did he have to fall in love with a mortal such as you?
“rex lapis may be gone, but liyue still needs me.”
“liyue has grown xiao. the people no longer require your protection, your contract with rex lapis has long been terminated-”
“you don’t understand!”
his sharp golden eyes bore holes into you, voice harsh and unforgiving. he could only watch in regret as tears streamed down your face, his poor heart almost cracking under all the pressure.
“guarding liyue is my job, and i am nothing but a tool for rex lapis. even if he is gone, my soul is still bound to this place, so don’t try to stop me.”
his voice faded away as his body dissolved into green particles, floating away in the wind.
his heart of stone, the one that had stood strong and carried him through the countless battles and bloodshed all these years, had finally shattered.
as he stood atop the mountains of liyue, watching the civilians down below, only did he remember why he had agreed to get involved with you.
he had fallen in love with you because you had been so human, so kind — so unlike him.
Tumblr media
albedo:
the destruction of mondstadt looming over his head like how celestia watches over teyvat.
his laboratory in dragonspine was always cold, but he could feel the little warmth he had in his artificial body increase whenever you came to visit him.
alas, as he watched mondstadt become engulfed in flames in a mirage, the only thing he honed in on was the screams of your voice.
he can feel his artificial heart cracking whenever he revisits that image in his memories, your cries for help ringing in his ears whenever his eyes land on you.
so, to save you, the light of his life, the sole fire that burns in his heart, the kreideprinz decided that he must part ways with you, and live the rest of his days in solitude.
“i’m sorry, my love.”
his poker face had cracks, he knew. as he watched those streams of tears drip down your face, his chest hurt. what was this feeling in his chest, as if something was gnawing on his beating organ, a bundle of ropes tightening consistently on his chest, restricting his breathing? what was this? was this the heartbreak human beings spoke of?
for the first time, the perfect experiment was broken, as hurt and spoiled as a human being. he had been so used to being placed on a pedestal, high above the rest, like some divine creation that deserved to be standing up in the heavens, watching the measly human beings below.
the star on his neck, the only sign of inconsistency in his consistent homunculus life. the one that was loved by you, with your fingers gently tracing over its sides every night as the two of you laid in your shared bed.
why, why did the heavenly principles deem them unworthy of being together, forcing them to part? why could they not stay as they had before, enjoying the sun together at windrise and basking in each other’s presence?
“my dear, it’s best if you leave.”
“albedo…”
the kreindeprinz could feel his lips trembling from the heartache, body racked with sobs as he watched your figure disappear down the mountain. why, why did he have to leave you so?
if one were to ask the chief alchemist who resided on the dangerous terrains of dragonspine what his greatest regret was, he would’ve answered:
“falling in love with someone i was not supposed to.”
Tumblr media
kaeya:
the last hope of khaenri’ah, the weight of his country falls on his shoulders.
he had once revealed to you the secrets under his eyepatch, his heart so warm and full of love as you simply stroked his blue hair as you smiled, bringing his forehead to your lips for a kiss.
every little heartfelt moment he spent with you, every time you interlocked your pinkies as you walked the streets of mondstadt, every time you shared a kiss under the moonlight, giggling together; all the moments spent with you were tucked deep in kaeya’s mind, memories he would never forget.
but now, as the flames engulf the city of mondstadt, smoke billowing and encasing the nation with a blanket of ashy black, the star shaped pupils stare at you in horror.
the crimson liquid soaking your clothes, and the ever slowing pants that you let out as you leans against the wall of a building is the only thing he sees in this country that was burning to the ground.
it was as if celestia was telling him “it’s your fault. it’s always your fault.”
“no…”
the world around his was quiet, and his vision focused on your fallen figure. all he could see was you, you, you. the fall of mondstadt meant nothing to him if it meant not having you by his side.
falling to his knees, he reached a shaking hand to brush your cheek. his nimble fingers smeared the hot, sticky liquid that trickled down your forehead, as if trying to wipe away the sins he had committed.
“h-hey… hey look at me…”
your soulless eyes simply stared back at him in wonder, and his eyes trail the tear tracks that streak down your cheeks. why was it that with every action he took, he would loose something in return? was this the order of the heavenly principles above, in order to establish balance in this cruel, wretched world?
as the stars above him burned and fell, nothing could compare to the explosion of emotion in his heart, threatening to overwhelm him and bring him down to the depths of the abyss. anywhere was better; away from mondstadt, away from the chaos, to you, your arms, your smile and your laughter. where was his happiness now that he had fulfilled his purpose?
he gritted his teeth, and could feel the faint trickle of blood seeping through his own clothes. his heart squeezed painfully, and his chest constricted, as if the thickest ropes were being bound around him. a victim to his own actions; what a joke. was this the predetermined outcomes of the gods of celestia?
as the smoke of the city of freedom rose up to the heavens, today was the day marked as the victory of khaenri’ah over mondstadt, but also the day where the sole survivor of both lands had lost the only thing that had mattered to him.
teyvat would soon fall into utter chaos, and the mastermind would watch with listless eyes as the world around him burned.

Genshin Men and why they're your exes (Albedo, Arataki Itto, Cyno)
A/N: this is just something fun and flaws I see that could be dealbreakers for some people romantic wise. If anything is OOC please let me know your opinions(respectfully) as I'm more familiar with some characters than others. Any requests for other characters? (There are TLDRs at the end of each section)
~~
Tumblr media
Albedo
How it began: You are a citizen of Mondstadt, the City of Freedom. Whether you're a member of the Knights of Favonius or a simple shop keeper, you encounter the Chief Alchemist Albedo while he's in town for a festival. You spot him walking around with Sucrose and spark up a conversation. The two of you bond over similar interests and discuss his research which you're impressed by. His artistic expression, intelligence, and overall nature capture your heart. You spend the festival together getting closer and that's how it begins. Why it ended: Albedo was always swamped with work, leaving for months to Dragonspine for work, and to protect you. It would make him feel guilty. Yes, he's smitten, but he's also cautious. He would send romantic love letters and pieces of artwork, however due to weather conditions and distance, they always come with large chunks of time between them. It is unlikely many if any of your letters would reach him. The distance and lack of communication get to you. "Is he even trying?" When he was in town it was for a fleeting moment, the two of you would barely have much time to spend together and most of his time was spent in town for work. The spark of honeymoon fairytale during the festival is long gone. Is there any feeling left between the two of you? You find yourself not feeling much around him as both of you basically have your own disconnected growth and lives over the lengthy time periods he's away. You're both headed on separate paths. He senses it, he's not dumb. It's an amicable breakup. The only thing that changes is that you just don't get love letters every few months. You're more heartbroken about what could've been. Maybe it would've been better in another life. (A)"We've just become different people." (Y/N)"Yea..." (A)"Perhaps we should just, go our separate ways?" (Y/N)"It's better for the both of us." (A)"That's it then. This is over." (Y/N)"Yup." (A)"I wish you the best (Y/N)." (Y/N)"Same to you."
TLDR: -relationship ends due to distance and life leading you both on different paths
Tumblr media
Arataki Itto
How it began: You, an Inazuman citizen, minding your own business around Inazuma City. You catch Itto's eye first. Before you know it, he's trying to win you over in anyway possible. His personality just makes you fall hard, he's a lovable idiot. His fun and sometimes childish carefree adventures make for a relationship that is always kept interesting and you feel a need to want to protect him from discrimination. Even with him getting arrested all the time, it's all part of the adventure right? You're life is completely changed because of him and you welcome the change, it's almost as if everything has a new sense of liveliness to it again.
Why it ended: Time passed. A good amount of time. As much fun as this lifestyle was, you finally wanted to start adulting. Eventually, his constant incarcerations, lack of an actual job and mora, and his seeming lack of maturity and seriousness, begin to get to you in a negative way. You would ty to bring up things like buying a home, getting a real job, maybe even marriage, and almost every time it would seem as if Itto would just shrug it off. You try to have a serious discussion with him about the rest of your lives together, but he sees no problem with his current lifestyle. He feels content in it and would even be hurt that you're trying to change who he is. The two of you start to have more arguments and the luster that made the relationship appealing in the first place becomes the reason why it becomes more unappealing. The relationships ends with an explosive argument. (Y/N)"That's it Itto! I'm done!" (I)"Fine, go on then see if I care!...Wait (Y-Y/N)? A-Are you being serious?" (Y/N)"Does it look like I'm joking?!" (I)"I-I..." (Y/N)"This is your problem Itto, you never learn to take anything seriously. Goodbye." (I)"(Y/N)?...."
TLDR: -relationship ends due to Itto's immature carefree nature which ends up leading to an explosive argument
Tumblr media
Cyno
How it began: You're a Sumerian citizen, probably of desert descent. You're friends with Tighnari. Cyno saved your life and his guard was softened a bit after learning about your connection to Tighnari. It takes a long while for this relationship to actually kick off, but eventually, via multiple encounters through your friendships with other characters, he finds himself more drawn to you and with a push from Tighnari, he finally asks you on a formal date. He's quite the gentleman, very romantic, and much to your surprise quite the passionate lover in private.
How it ended: His job proves to be an obstacle, the possible danger you could face for being connected to him and the potential danger he could be in worries both of you, so the relationship is private for a while. As amazing as the relationship is, it slowly becomes evident that his principles are very solid and a priority above all. It's likely you get involved in his work, even when he tries to put distance between it and you. When you literally become an obstacle between him and enacting justice, he gets an internal conflict. There are arguments about it, instigated by you trying to make him see what's wrong with this system. But eventually it all comes to a head. “Please,” He murmured with a slight tremble in his voice, “don't leave. Don't go just yet.”
His arms snuck around your figure and wrapped you in his embrace. He just needed to feel you, to know that you're there. A smile graced your face in response, a blissful sight gifted to him from the heavens.
“I won't.”
“You won't go?” his eyes hesitantly met yours. He felt so weak, so vulnerable for the first time in ages. He felt powerless in your presence.
“Why would I?”
He stared into your eyes, confusion catching him. He held you tighter.
“You mean you wouldn't have a reason to?”
You chuckled, leaning in to kiss his forehead.
“Never in my life.”
.
You liar.
He snapped back into reality, chasing after you through the city crowd.
Why?
He sobbed, not caring if the entire universe could hear him. He cried your name, pushing through the crowd but—
Why did you leave him?
You were nowhere to be seen. This isn't real. This can't be. Why are you leaving? Why'd you have to go? He finally trudged through the last few people of the crowd, jumping out of it. He frantically looked around for you.
Show yourself. Show up.
Please.
But you were nowhere—
Show yourself. Show up. Please.
Please don't leave me.
—But you were nowhere to be seen.
He tripped on the sidewalk, falling over, but without you? He didn't have a reason to even want to get up.
.
“Hey, hey? Hey!” You whisper-yelled next to him, dressed in your usual clothing.
Your boyfriend woke up, groggy and sweating. He stretched, yawning, and then looked down at the bed.
What?
“I've got to go now. Sorry for waking you up, I wanted to get you up and going for work later.”
You smiled at him, and when he only looked at you without a single noticeable piece of love in his eyes, you stopped.
In contrast, he looked up at you like you were his savior. You, who he thought he just lost, are back here with him. You're still with him. You're still in love with him. It was all just a bad dream.
“Actually, uhm, can I...” You looked away. You stopped smiling at him. He looked up at you in wonder.
“...Can I talk to you later?”
His heart dropped.
“We need to talk.”

"Til' death do us apart" (part II of ymmtiam)
fem! reader x albedo | part one.
warnings: angst, hurt/no comfort, crying, heartbreak, mentions of blood, mentions of major character death, albedo being clueless, albedo regretting shiz
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Albedo / 3rd Person POV:
It was as if nothing had happened at all. Life had returned to what it used to be, from waking up early to going to his lab to do some experiments. Everything… was normal.
Yet, there was something unsettling. A feeling that something was missing.
Maybe it's the morning coffee he had forgotten to drink, or the forgotten researches lying on his lab's floor. He doesn't know, he'll never know what exactly it is.
His fingertips work silently as he writes his monthly report, remembering to fulfill his tasks in the Favonius. His house is peaceful, with only the sounds of a pen constantly writing on paper. He can't help but experience that sensation once more, his brows furrowing as his thoughts begin to stray.
His eyes are abruptly drawn to something, and he swiftly turns his focus to it. It was a small picture frame, with a picture, a picture of? Wait, it's… His lover, Y/n. That's right… Y/n, where has she been?
Albedo swiftly connects the dots. His recent feelings have led him to the conclusion that his adored beloved suddenly vanished, or at least that's what he believes.
Unconsciously, he extends his fingers toward the frame, his thumb touching the slightly dusted photograph. His face cracks a little smile, as though the memory-inspiring image alone had already relaxed him.
Albedo sets the frame down before getting to his feet and choosing to take a breather from his relentless work. His thoughts turn to you once more. Where have you been? Have you left him? Did you betray his affection and abandon him? He wasn't going to lie; he yearned deeply for your presence. Perhaps he should go look for you.
As he moves toward the door, he hastily puts on a cozy cardigan. He wants to get a quick snack to munch on. Albedo quickly put on his shoes, double-checked his belongings and keys, and officially exited as he twisted the knob of his home's door shut.
The alchemist approaches Good Hunter and attentively reads the menu. He turns to tell Sara what he ordered when he notices a familiar pair of travelers out of the corner of his eye.
The floating companion waves her tiny arms, greeting, "Hey, Albedo!" In response, the chief alchemist gestures and says, "Hello."
His eyes light up as he has an idea as he takes his freshly prepared meal. He should ask Aether regarding your whereabouts. He must know where you are, right?
Albedo begins, drawing the blonde boy's attention. "Hey, Aether. Quick question," Albedo asks, his stomach churning with expectation and hope, "Mhm, what is it?" He replies, "Have you… seen Y/n? I haven't really seen her around."
Rather, his was welcomed with utter stillness. The two exchanged anxious glances as they became suddenly quiet. Did he say something wrong?
He repeats, lifting an eyebrow in suspicion, "Um… Have you seen Y/n?" Albedo can tell that the two have seen you by the way they reacted.
When Paimon exclaims, "Y/n… She's dead," it almost sounds as though she's straining to get those agonizing words out of her throat.
Wait, what? There's no way, right? You? Y/n? His lover? Dead? That can't be…
"Look, this isn't the time for jokes, Paimon. I haven't seen her around, and… I'm starting to miss her presence far too much," Albedo adds firmly, not pleased with Paimon's statements.
Albedo notices Aether's sympathetic gaze on him. There is no way… No, no. This is impossible! How—
A memory rushes across Albedo's head, a hazy conversation between you and him, seemingly arguing in his lab, but he can't recall much of it, it's been days after all.
But how could you be dead? Without him even noticing?
The Traveler says with regret, "I'm sorry, if only I'd come on time, then maybe I could've saved her… But it was too late, her body had already frozen to death at that time. Wait- I thought you knew?"
"N...No, nobody dared to tell me at all. Where?" he asks bluntly. "Huh? Where? Well, I found her at the bottom of the broken bridge in Dragonspine, the bridge near your lab. I think she fell down because the snow underneath her was covered in blood-" The alchemist vanished as Aether was about to finish his answer.
Paimon yells at him, but he's already off in the distance. "Hey- where are you going?"
Running made his feet hurt, and he was exhausted. As he gasps for air, frigid oxygen brutally hits his lungs. His palms are firmly placed on his knees as he makes an attempt to calm down.
Albedo had arrived at the broken bridge, the same one where you had allegedly fallen. His eyes immediately notice the obvious bloodied snow underneath as he peeks down at the bottom.
He suddenly stops breathing, his eyes growing wide with terror and horror to the point of tears. A part of him yearns to leap out with you, to join you, to see you once again.
As Albedo goes back down the cold mountain, a familiar voice reaches out to him once more. Aether runs up to him and yells, "Albedo!" while waving his hand in the air.
He collapses just as Aether appears in front of him, but the traveler manages to catch him in time. He watches him with sympathy as he begins to break down in his arms and sob uncontrollably. Albedo thinks to himself,
Our promise "Til' death do us apart" seems like a cruel joke now.

❝ i object! ❞
kazuha + albedo
summary: you as a noble should naturally marry another noble, despite your love for another. your parents had managed to pry your lover off of you and get you wedded to a powerful nobleman- that is, until your past lover comes barging through the doors on your wedding day.
cw: gn!reader, arranged/forced marriage, teeny tiny bit of alcohol, angst to comfort
what i listened to while writing: wave - wave to earth
a/n: *slowly crawls out of my cave* hey guys. it's me again😭 i randomly got the motivation to write again, idk what demons possessed me to write this in the span of 5 hours but at least i have new content!!!! i was gonna do this with more characters but kazuha and albedo were the only ones i see pulling this cheesy-typa stuff tbh
▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄
kazuha
“…what?”
your gaze fell down towards the wooden docks you were standing on. kazuha frowned, his grasp on your hand loosening. he was aboard the crux, and the crew was preparing to leave inazuma for another trip to liyue.
“i’m from one of the tri-commissions, kazuha,” you said defeatedly. “it’s over for us now. i’m going to be wedded as an alliance with another commission. i… i’m sorry…” but before kazuha could respond, the large ship began to sail away, his hands completely slipping away from yours.
kazuha leaned over the edge of the ship, watching your figure get smaller and smaller. though he hoped you would at least give him a wave goodbye, you simply turned around and left the docks of ritou, leaving him saddened and confused.
▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄
kazuha spent the next month lost in his thoughts. ink blots were all that filled the pages of his journal now that he’s lost his muse.
“it’s over for us now.”
those words played in his mind like a broken record in hopes that maybe he could find a sense of doubt from those words, just a hint that it wasn’t truly over. he’s tried to understand, truly. but the thought of losing you ate kazuha up from the inside, especially knowing that he had no control over it. there weren’t any flaws in him or you that caused this, only circumstance. and that stung his heart more than anything.
despite kazuha’s wishes and prayers, the wedding would happen either way. news eventually reached his ears that two commissions from inazuma would be joined through a marriage between the two heirs, and that was when kazuha truly felt like he was losing control. you were being swept away so suddenly, carried away in the arms of another man. what was he to do?
you were being fitted into a kimono that very second, the maids tying the knots and wrapping the fabric around your body. your limbs felt heavy like lead, your head hanging low like rotten fruit on a tree. you tried to live in a fantasy just for at least a few moments, imagining that kazuha was the one you were being wed to, not a nobleman.
kazuha almost felt like a dream now that he was gone, as if he was only a fleeting imagination before you had to wake up to reality. the ephemeral touches, the honey-dipped sunsets, the smell of salt and the sea. that was all simply an illusion. you had to go back to the wooden floors, the inked papers and the melting candles. this was reality now, where everything was out of your control.
“this is all for the sake of our family, you know that?” your father’s voice broke your train of thought. “think of this as a way to pay us back for raising you. you’re much better off with a nobleman than that wandering fugitive anyways.”
you grit your teeth and tightened your fist, your knuckles whitening. “i know.”
the ceremony went through in a daze, the sacred sake tasting bitter on your tongue. a part of you felt like you should’ve just jumped on that ship along with kazuha. regret sat in your stomach like a sickly bag of bleach. but you knew it was for the better, both for you and your family.
after the vows, the priest then asked, “does anyone here object to the wedding?”
a heavy silence followed. the two of you were heirs to the biggest commissions in inazuma, it was obvious that nobody would dare to object this wedding. your gaze fell further down in defeat. it was really happening now.
“i object!”
your head snapped up from the ground and turned towards the voice. at the end of the crowd stood kazuha, the wind blowing softly through his hair, the golden light from the sunset outlining his silhouette.
emotions rushed through your chest: happiness, regret, sadness, doubt, and guilt. the cup you were holding dropped to the ground and shattered. the crowd began to murmur and gossip.
“kazuha,” you breathed out.
the crowd parted to make way for your lover, who confidently walked towards you and held his hand out. everything around you seemed to suddenly disappear the moment your fingertips met his. it was only the two of you now.
“kazuha… what on earth are you doing here?”
“i just need you to answer one question for me,” kazuha said softly. “do you trust me?”
by the way he eagerly interlocked his fingers with yours, his intentions were obvious. if you were to answer this question, it would mean throwing away everything you’ve known thus far: your family, your possessions, your wealth, your inheritance, your responsibilities. everything. but with the way kazuha was silently pleading you with his eyes… how could say no?
you let out a shaky breath. “i do.”
kazuha merely smiled in return, his eyes softening as if to tell you that everything was going to be alright. that he understood your choices, and that all you need to do was take this final leap of faith.
“hurry up kazuha!” beidou’s voice interrupted. a few meters away, the crux was anchored to the docks, the crew eagerly waiting to set sail. “the guards might come and take ya anytime soon!”
kazuha held your hand tightly and began running towards the docks, the two of you giggling as he helped you up on the ship. the nobleman, priest, and the crowd all watched in disbelief as you hopped onto the crux, sailing away with the samurai.
the crew cheered as you and kazuha shared a kiss of reunion, the anchor lifting from the seafloor and the two of you sailing away into the golden sun, just like you were meant to be.
▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄
albedo
“i…see.” albedo’s eyes wander off to nowhere in particular after hearing your explanation. he blinks a few times as if to confirm that he wasn’t dreaming.
“it’s not your fault, albedo, and neither is it mine,” you added. “i hope you understand.”
for the first time since albedo was created, he feels numb. his fingertips lose grip as it all finally settles in. you’re leaving him for another man.
of course, he knows that’s not really the case. albedo understands your circumstance as well as the political powers at play, but at the end of the day, that’s what’s happening, right? you’re being wedded off to another man, which of course means you’ll have to leave him.
and when he sees you take off your ring- the ring he gave you- and put it on his desk, his heart shatters. you silently take your leave, disappearing into the dragonspine snow. albedo’s gaze is immediately pulled to the golden band on his desk, which seemed so much duller now that it wasn’t on your finger.
▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄
projects seem more pointless than ever before, and piles of crumpled up drafts fill albedo’s trash bin. he’s taken down all the portraits of you in his home because it was too painful to bear, yet he can’t deny that he was still hopelessly in love with you. the thought of you standing at the altar with another man made albedo positively sick. and there was nothing he could do about it.
he even decided to abandon his projects to visit the city in hopes that he could catch a glimpse of you, but you never seemed to be there. he’d wander for what seemed like hours, only for it to be in vain. ‘of course,’ he tells himself, ‘they’d be busy preparing for the wedding.’
the ring in his pocket weighs heavier than before. he takes it out and twirls it in his hand, the afternoon sun reflecting off of it almost blindingly. the church bells ring in the distance, as well as the melody from the church organ.
wait… the organ is playing.
albedo clasps his hand around the ring tightly before frantically running up the stairs towards the cathedral. the scent of flowers fills his nostrils as he makes his way past the statue of barbatos and climbs the final flight of stairs until he’s met with the wooden doors of the cathedral.
he won’t lose you. he can’t lose you.
albedo’s hands feel heavy as his palm rests flat against the door. once the organs stop playing, the faint voice of a priest could be heard from outside. he can hear the nobleman say his vows, then you. his flat palm turns into a fist as he contemplates what to do next. he’s never liked crowds, nor has he ever liked being the center of attention. this could certainly ruin his reputation, and hell, the clan you’re getting married to might even get him fired but-
the thought of you being by his side again gives albedo more than enough courage to push against the doors.
“does anyone object to this wedding?”
with one strong push, the doors swing open. sunlight spills into the cathedral and forms a path of light leading to you. and dear lord barbatos, you look breathtaking.
albedo watches as you turn around in confusion. the ring you were holding in one hand clatters to the floor, echoing down the hall.
though albedo had planned on walking towards you, he couldn’t help but start running down the aisle. panting, he turns to the priest. “i object this wedding. i am their rightful lover, am i not?”
you step down from the altar, your hands reaching to caress his face and gently wipe the sweat from his forehead. “even after everything i told you… you still came. i tried so hard to hurt your feelings, so why are you here?”
despite the tears pooling in your eyes, you’re smiling. and that’s all albedo needed to see. “i must be going insane, y/n. i’m not one to act like this.”
he kneels down right then and there, holding up the ring with two of his fingers. “will you marry me?”
you take a moment to look down at albedo, who’s kneeling before you in a silent plead. the faint bags under his eyes are proof enough that he’s missed you. your family would hate you for this. doing this would mean to be shunned and disowned from your clan. the support you once had would dissipate in an instant. albedo might be put in danger as well. but you’d rather have nothing and albedo rather than everything but albedo.
“yes,” you said before sliding the ring on your ring finger, right where it belonged. you grab albedo’s arm and run out the cathedral, much to the protest of your family sitting at the pews.
you skip down the steps in a hurry before turning your head to see albedo smiling softly. you’re dolled up, and the afternoon glow of the sun hits your face just perfectly. and with his ring resting on your finger, albedo can’t help but simply adore you.
‘you are killing me softly,’ he thinks, ‘yet you seem to be the only thing keeping me alive.’

albedo ★↷
as a synthetic human he did not understand emotions too well. and going into a relationship with him you understood this and were going to try your best to help him learn. and he really appreciated the help.
but sometimes he would throw all he learnt about human emotions with you out the window in the pursuit of a new experiment. which was fine because he always looked so happy doing them. but when he would not talk to you, for one time a month on end and stayed holed up in dragonspine without letting you visit. rightfully it bothered you.
and when you tried to voice your concerns he simply said that this was his work and you should respect that. this, rightfully, annoyed you to no end. and then ensued the argument that made you leave dragonspine and decide in a petty act that two could play at that game.
but very quickly albedo noticed your presence or now lack of. normally you would accompany him at the small camp near his lab in dragonspine. keeping him company and giving him some very good memories. but now that you weren't there? he felt slightly empty.
he realised he had been scummy towards you. and that you were always so patient and understanding with him that he eventually took it for granted. and he knew he had to make it up to you somehow. as he wouldn't know what to do without you in his life.
so leaving his research he headed back to mondstadt. he assembled what he remembered were some of your favourite things. and set off towards your residence. and luckily for him you were still at home at that time.
you didn't want to open the door. to be slightly more petty. but you knew that would get you nowhere, so with a heavy sigh you opened the door. you would be lying if you said you didn't miss him a slight bit. and immediately you were overwhelmed by the apology and gifts albedo had given to you.
he had promised you that he would never do that again and that he missed you dearly. and truth be told you missed him aswell. so, after setting the gifts to the side, you hugged your lover and he embraced you back. leaving the air filled with heartfelt apologies and promises that would not be broken.
tartaglia childe ★↷
fittingly, childe could sometimes act like a child. not often as most the time you really enjoyed your time with childe and loved knowing that you two were an actual thing. but sometimes things could change that.
and arguments were some of those things. but you knew that it came from a place of care and love. but that still could do nothing to calm you in the middle of an argument. as some fights stemmed from actual fights.
he loved getting into fights and testing his skills against people he thought would be good to fight against. but when he came home looking quite roughed up you always worried. i meam why would you not worry?
but alot of the time you would patch him up and try to get him to tone it down a little before he seriously got hurt but he didn't listen. like a stubborn child. he always assured you he would be fine but that did little to soothe your worries, especially because you knew his line of work.
so when he came back rather roughed up you tried one more time to tell him to tone it down but this time he snapped back and this lead to an argument. and that lead to you throwing him the bandages and wound cleaning stuff before leaving for a cool down.
he immediately realized his mistake and tried to quickly bandage himself up to go after you and assure you were safe. you hadn't gone far before you heard him call out for you as you pretend not to hear him. before he caught up and immediately apologized.
he knew he had alot to make up for but the best he could do now is give you his best apology for his recent outburst and offer you his comfort in the embrace of a hug which you took. you would talk more back at home.
baizhu ★↷
as the current owner of bubu pharmacy, he had to do alot if work that was expected though and you knew that. however that couldn't help but raise concern within you as it nade you worry that overworking may flare up his disease.
and as he's said before its hard for physicians to cure themselves. so if his symptoms flared up he just had to lock himself in a room and wait for it to pass with only you and qiqi being allowed in to care for him. and you didn't like the fact that there was no way to treat this.
so you wanted to try and help but found no luck so far, but you noticed it would flare up if he overworked himself. you wouldn't bring it up when he was ill as that just seemed to be in poor taste, he should just rest and recover. but a while after he was better you brought it up.
but unfortunately what you didn't know was that it had been a difficult day at the pharmacy. so in short it turned into an argument. you both knew this was pointless but you couldn't stop. that was until he had said something that made tears brim along your eyes.
he immediately caught his mistake. he knew you were just looking out for him and he snapped at you for that. so he stopped saying anything and opened his arms for a hug, if you felt like it as you too knew he didn't mean it but he understood if you didn't want. he had hurt you after all.
but you took the hug. you wanted his comforting embrace to soothe you. and as he professed his apologies the sting of his comment wore off slightly. while it still hurt you knew that he didn't mean it. baizhu would make sure that you two talked about this properly later.
heizou ★↷
as a detective, he was often known to think quite rationally and always come up with the best solution. however sometimes he struggled to do that when faced with arguments.
arguments were still rare none the less, but whenever they did happen you two normally would get over them with little to no difficulty. or sometimes they just weren't meant to be dealt with so easily. like if it wasn't the right time to have that kind of conversation.
and sometimes it would lead to harsh comments being thrown about carelessly. but they would be caught immediately. and upon him giving a rather harsh and untrue insult towards you. you stood in shock that this it what it had lead to.
and he immediately realised what he said and quickly brought you into his embrace, apologizing more than he ever has in his life but it still didn't feel enough. eventually you two had calmed down but he still felt as if he had hurt you in some way.
but right now all you wanted to do was to cuddle in the embrace of your lover and fall asleep. you two would be able to talk about this better when you were well rested.
alhaitham ★↷
naturally he was quite a reserved, often described as cold person. harsh by kaveh. but no matter what you had managed to break down his facade and make your way it his heart. however even if things went smoothly some parts of the relationship really made you wonder if you had truly become someone to him.
arguments could happen over anything. and that was inevitable that you two would encounter some. but what you soon realised that your lover wasn't great at dealing with them. either ignoring them or leaving during an argument trying to avoid it. this really didn't help.
and that had just happened. it was a small petty argumemt but as soon as it arose, instead of talking about it like normal people, your boyfriend put up his stupid uncaring facade again and turned heel and left. leaving you frustrated and kaveh feeling sympathy for someone as great as you ending up with him. personally as your best friend he thought you could do better.
so with much frustration you tried to calm yourself down by talking to kaveh, reading or finishing whatever you had going on. until it became noticeably late and with no sign of alhaitham, you scoffed to yourself before getting ready for bed.
maybe you would sleep on the couch to really dig in the fact that you were angry with him. not that you thought he would pick up on it.
for someone so smart he didn't know how to read people very well. alhaitham got back later then he expected. and noticed you immediately asleep on the couch. he knew sometimes he was being ridiculous with how he dealt with arguments. so he got ready for bed.
but before he got into bed, he went out the the couch you laid upon, carefully picking you up and bringing you back to bed. as he tucked you in laying next to you, promising to himself that not only would he apologise in the morning but make an effort to do better for you as he reckons if you ever left him he would feel quite lost without you.
kaveh ★↷
he would like to think that he was a rational person. and for the most part he was but its funny how anger can cloud over people's judgement. as arguments with him were rare and often always solved immediately.
but sometimes if he was running late in the mornings he would start getting really frustrated and a simple comment from you asking if you could help with anything lead to him snapping at you and leaving for work in a foul mood and leaving you quite upset.
but throughout the day all he could think about was you and how upset you looked. you had only offered to help him and if he didn't have a go at you he probably would've got to the akadeymia earlier. and it was as if the archons were playing some cruel prank on him.
he had to stay later to finish off something. great. all he wanted was to get home to you and apologize like his life depended on it. he never did like having arguments last like this. but by the time he got home it was quite late out. so he didn't expect you to be up.
and you weren't but that's fine. he didn't like knowing you two were going to sleep with an unresolved argument but he didn't want to wake you up when you looked so peaceful. so he slipped into bed next to you and brought your back into his chest. he would apologize in the morning.
neuvillette ★↷
it wasn't quite the common knowledge that he struggled with more human emotions. sure a few people knew, for example you and focalors but to anyone else it was none of there business. so unfortunately arguments with him were interesting.
they could go two ways, you both reached an understanding in what was wrong and how to fix it or neuvillette couldn't see it from your perspective and sometimes even saying particularly harsh comments unknowing of how much it hurt you.
and that's where you two were now. you realised you were fighting a losing battle and your lover simply couldn't understand what you were trying to get across and instead said rather hurtful things. so before you said something you regretted you decided to go take a walk and clear your head before talking again with him.
he was shocked at first that you had left, but he rationalised with himslef and assumed you would come back. but on your walk you had gone into a trance of thoughts, wandering aimlessly through the illuminated streets of fontaine. losing track of time until the first drop of water splashed upon you from above.
great, just when you're mood was starting to improve it was going to rain. you normally didn't mind but now? really not what you wanted. guess the hydro dragon was just as upset as you were a while back. so you decided to head back.
in all honesty you were starting to miss your lover. stuff like this was bound to happen but maybe there was a different way of finding ways round it that you could talk about?
as you arrived home you were met with dead air. silence. you slipped into the shared bedroom to see him asleep. not that you could tell well from the lighting but you swore he had been crying.
missing the embrace of your lover, you quickly changed into your nightwear and slipped yourself into bed next to your lover. and instinctively he pulled you into his arms as you reciprocated the action. you two would talk it out in the morning.
wriothesley ★↷
noticeably to you, for someone of his status he could have quite a contradicting personality behind doors. not a different one but a more relaxed one as he let off all the pressure from the day and spend his time with you.
but sometimes that lax attitude dripped into some squabbles or arguments that you two would share. sometimes he would even simply brush it off and say its nothing to worry about. and that's how he now ended up messing up at work and being noticeably distracted because all he thought of was your distraught face from this morning.
he had started a fued with you over something small and insignificant that barely mattered to anyone. but he let himself escalate it and now he had left for his work and you had left for yours in the middle of the argument to avoid being late. and all he wanted to do was to go find you and apologize, if he maybe even had that chance anymore.
and you weren't fairing to well, not from guilt but from anger. he had yet again brushed off another argument he started - not that brushing it off was his fault you would've had to leave for work soon anyway. but it just stuck with you. and you were getting tired of it.
and to your surprise, right as your work finished and you left to head for home feeling bad that you hoped he wasn't there just yet, wriothesley stood outside waiting for you. favourite flowers in hand. the walk home was silent.
but as you got home the urge just to hide in his embrace grew stronger and without thinking just as you two stepped inside you wrapped your arms around him. tears brimming your vision. and he was more than willing to return a comforting embrace as he professed his apologies. this time he truly was going to try better for your sake and the relationships sake.
