Medellín, Colombia - Spring 1976 (The Past)
The weather was in a particularly odd flux. For most of the day, heat raged on like an unrelenting wave, the weatherman reported scorching temperatures, a whopping, almost record breaking 101 degrees. Medellin quickly became a ghost-town, people sought refuge from the unbearable temperatures. The heat trickled its way into the evening, until around 9 or so, storm clouds suddenly swirled the sky, then, boom, a torrential downpour. The rain came down in violent pelts, hitting everything and anything insight. However, as quickly as the storm came, it went. The temperatures went down, the rain aided in crispness in the air. The wind swept through the streets and neighborhoods of Medellin, with coolness and airiness that was necessary, relieving.
Relief was exactly what Nina needed.
With the scorching temperatures, it brought a particular irritation with her clientele. It was like the hotter it became, the meaner they were. One of her regulars, Mr. Moneybags (an older gentleman, who happened to be very, very, generous with his wealth.), who was severely punctual and only wanted oral. He was never rude, impatient or rough with her. Until today. He was late, storming into her room, barking orders for her get on her knees, and when Nina finally did give him what he wanted, all Mr. Moneybags could ramble on about was high rough day at the office and he needed to tame "La Perra Negra". To make matters worse, when Mr. Moneybags orgasmed, he cummed on her shirt (a brand-new halter top, made of fine silk and in the prettiest shade of coral, it wasn't cheap, it cost her 78 pesos.) and in her hair (pillowy-soft coils as someone told her once). That was a complete, no, no.
Mr. Moneybags was the first of her clients to receive a verbal lashing, but he wasn't the last. As the hours rolled by, each man arriving acting more brutish and egregious than the last. Nina handed out her lashings with ease, all for her to be met with the same insult, fuck you, Perra Negra. The heat only fueled her rage, so much that the one customer, who had some semblance of decorum, went soft in her mouth. He quickly scurried out, offering a sympathetic smile, and promised that he'll come back next week, when she felt better.
So, when the storm came, Nina was more than relieved. She got some reprieve from her finnicky clients, even though her room was tucked away on the further corner of the brothel, the rain seemed to drown out the noise from the other end of the compound. She was able to soak her stresses away in her tub, light a candle or two, slip on her favorite mini-silk robe, and actually rest. The raindrops served as a lullaby from Nina as she drifted off to sleep.
Now, at 2 AM, Nina sat in a chair on her small balcony. She people-watched from her small corner, relishing in the cool breeze the generously fanned over her skin. She more than deserved this peace and stillness after the shit she had to deal with. After a while, Nina became engrossed in this older couple blocks away, were dancing in the middle of the street. She was so enraptured with the couple she didn't even hear the door creep open.
A familiar scent drifted through the air, a blend of cinnamon, tobacco, cardamom, and strangely mint. Nina couldn't help the smile the curled onto to her lips, as heavy footsteps inched closer and closer.
"You left the door open,"
Nina smirked. "What if I left it open for you,"
"Hm. That's unlike you,"
Nina turned around meeting those soft, russet-colored eyes, she cared to enjoy so much. She playfully batted her eye lashes.
"Oh, Dario, you mustn't forget, you are my favorite customer," Nina purred. She rose from her seated position, and unabashedly took in Dario's appearance.
He was meticulously dressed, he wore neatly ironed, black slacks with a coordinating black dress shirt. A few buttons were undone, revealing a sliver of warm-tawny skin, and the ink-colored edges of a tattoo. Nina wondered sometimes what the fully tattoo would look like, or better, would she ever get to see it.
From the first night they met, Nina gathered that Dario was someone who took pride in their appearance. He was never sloppy, not a flick of dirt or dust sullied his clothes or shoes. Thick, brown tresses were combed and quaffed with care, while he maintained neatly trimmed facial hair. Even the way Dario carried himself was equally irresistible, he possessed a poise and calmness that was developed, cultivated, even. He was careful with his words, never speaking out of turn or without thought. He charmed his way into people's hearts, both old and young alike.
Dario was a true debonair. It was the perfect distraction from what he truly was, a hit man. El Sicario.
"You look thirsty," Nina strutted past Dario to the small bar along the wall inside, "Would you like a drink?"
''Not tonight,"
Nina tsked, "Where's the fun in that? You can't just humor me, I've had a terrible day and--"
"Enough Nina," She paused to looked over her shoulder at him. His brows were furrowed, as looked intensely at Nina. After a beat, Nina turned a back around, pouring some tequila in a glass. She turned back around, gesturing for Dario to speak. "I'm looking for someone," Dario pulled a photo out of his front pocket.
"Aren't you always," Nina sassed. She couldn't help it, she was enjoying seeing Dario a bit peeved, it was so refreshing to see, even Dario, el sicario himself, could be annoyed.
He shows her the photo, "Vincent Fernandez, you know him?"
Nina scans the picture, taking in the face of the man.
"Yes and no," Dario's eyebrow quirks, "His real name is Vincent, but nobody calls him that. He goes by Chuy,"
"Okay...Chuy, have you seen him?"
"Yeah, a few weeks ago. He was coming out of Carmen's room...now that I think about it, she was leaving with him. She carried a suitcase too. Haven't seen her since,"
Immediately, Dario balled up the picture, flinging at the wall. He began to pace and back forth, his left handed raked through his hair, messing up that of that beautiful handiwork.
Something thrummed inside of Nina as she watched Dario slowly lose composure. Dario’s beautiful features were twisted with frustration, his jaw was clenched, and eyes were blazed. He stopped pacing and stood next to a small coffee table with vase that sat on top. With hesitation, Dario snatched the vase and launched it at the wall. Ceramic shards exploded on impact, pieces flew everywhere in the process.
"FUCK!"
"What the hell is your problem!?" Nina rushed over, she brushed past him, and picked up a broken piece of the vase, "Fuckin' pendejo, this was a gift from a friend," She was seething, gearing up to cuss him out to fullest extent but she paused. On one of the broken pieces with a red speck. Nina's eyes drifted towards the floor, seeing a trail of red spots, the spots grew larger and larger, until there was a small pool of blood underneath Dario's hand. "...You're bleeding,"
"What?" Dario one step but Nina quickly stopped him.
"Stop! Stop, it's getting all on the floor. Go to the bathroom and rinse the cut. When your done there's a first aid kit and a bottle of peroxide in cabinet, grab it, and sit on the couch," Dario just stood there a bit lost in his eyes, "Vete! Go, now!"
Dario disappeared into the bathroom, leaving Nina in the mess he created.
---
"This is going to sting so keep still," The two sat next to each other on the couch. In one hand, Nina gently cradled Dario's hand, his wounded palm facing up. The other hand held a cotton ball soaked in Hydrogen peroxide. She slowly inched the ball towards the cut, when it the skin, Dario instantly hissed, moving his hand slightly. Nina pressed again, trying to be a bit softer than before, but Dario jerked his hand away again. Nina swatted at his stomach. "Ay! Stop moving,"
Dario finally complied, relaxing against her touch, letting her clean the cut. A quietness fell over them as Nina worked in a comfortable rhythm of wiping and dabbing.
"I'll make sure to pay for the vase," Nina stopped, looking up at Dario. There was a sincerity in his eyes, and something else...embarrassment maybe? "The least I could do, since you put up with shit all the time..."
Nina bit the inside of her cheek to keep herself from smiling, at Dario's gesture. She said nothing in return, but instead sat the used cotton balls to the side and reached for the roll of bandages. Nina couldn't make heads or tails of how she felt about Dario right. One part of her was agitated with him with how he broke her vase and how edgy he was being towards her all of the sudden. The other part of her was attracted to Dario, something about him losing control like that revved her engine. For once he wasn't so controlled and calculated, he was human, flaws and all.
"I know I'm not supposed to ask, but, why are you looking for Chuy?" Nina asked, slowly wrapped the bandages around Dario's hand.
To Nina's surprise, he answered. "He took something that didn't belong to him,"
"...Oh. Oh," Nina nodded realizing what Dario what he meant. Chuy had to have stolen a kilo or two of coke from them. Everyone in Medellin knew stealing from the Bravo family was a guaranteed death sentence. "Shit, I should've known..."
Dario shook his head. "It's not on you. The sneaky bastard managed to fool all of us, especially me,"
Nina chuckled nervously as she tucked the last strip of the bandage underneath a bottom layer.
"All finished," She slowly let go of Dario's hand to gather and put back her supplies, "I would give it a day before checking the cut to see if its healing. Just try to keep it your hands clean the best you can,"
Dario nodded. "Thank you,"
Nina smiled gently at him. She could feel his eyes on her as she bounced around and out of the room disposing of the trash and putting her supplies back. When she came back into the room, she found Dario relaxed against the couch looking outside. She followed his gaze up to the night sky. The normal starry, ink-colored sky was now filled with stormy clouds.
"It's going to rain again," Nina murmured, she returned to her spot next to Dario.
"How'd you figure?"
Nina pointed to the sky. "The clouds. Plus, the air is getting thick...y'know humidity,"
Dario laughed, flashing those gorgeous pearly whites, making Nina's heart skip a beat. He quickly quieted as a look of curiosity filled his expression.
"Where'd you learn to do that kind of stuff...like patch people up?"
"I guess I got tired of getting rug burns and bruises on my knees from giving head so much. It's bad for business,"
"That's fucked up,"
Nina shrugged. "It's a part of the job. I have to be perfect and presentable at all times. It's what sells the fantasy. So, I had to become my own doctor, learn how to patch myself up. I also learned, that if I was on my knees for too long, all the time, I wasn't doing my job correctly.
Dario tipped his head, scratching at his goatee, "Where the guys always that rough with you?"
"Someone is mighty curious tonight," Nina teased. She twirled a coil round her pointer finger, "but, to answer your question, no. Some tried to, but I was always on guard. I had to be, I'm the only black girl here...La Perra Negra. Before my regulars, most of the guys thought because I’m black, a morenita, that's I wanted. It took some threats and me pulling out my switch blade a couple of times, but they got the picture. Sometimes I feel bad for them...they’re so caught up in fucking me as a conquest, and not for their own pleasure. Typical men,"
Dario's brow quirked. "Typical?"
"You know what I mean. Most men when they have sex are either caught up in some ego thing, or only focus on pleasuring themselves they don't bother in pleasuring their partners, especially if the partner is a woman,"
"I suppose you're right,"
"You suppose? Do you feel the opposite?”
"Not entirely. You do have a point…I guess I’m not most men. I like pleasuring my woman,” Dario rasped. His pink tongue swiped at his bottom lip before continuing, “It turns me on to see her lose..composure ‘cause I’m fuckin’ her so good. I dunno it just gets me there. I could never get hard or cum without doing so,”
From the tops of Nina's ears all the way to the bottoms of her manicured toes, she ran hot. Her mind raced with flashes of images of her and Dario in the nastiest of scenarios. If she wasn't sure about being attracted to Dario, this solidified it. Despite her growing need to literally lunge herself at him, she pulled back. She needed to make him sweat.
"I guess there's some room for exceptions," Nina hummed, she readjusted herself, re-crossing her legs, make sure to give him a quick flash of her lacy panties. She secretly thanked her Orishas, when she saw Dario's eyes wander to her thighs.
"I had customer the other day," Nina continued, "Sweet guy, couldn't fuck to save his life, so I suggested get on top. I thought riding him would be better, but it wasn't. So, in a last-ditch effort, I closed my eyes and imagined it someone else..."
"Who did you imagine?"
"...You. I imagined you underneath me, fucking me. I fantasized about those beautiful brown eyes staring up at me. How it would feel to have your hands on me...all the things those hands could do. Like would you pull my hair, or grip my hips so hard that I would have bruises? Or, would you smack my ass while you stroked, deep inside me...even better would you hold my hands behind my back, while you played with my clit? Then, like magic, I came...I don't think I've cum so hard in my life—”
He cut her off with kiss. It was gentle and sweet. As Dario moved his lips, he gingerly swept his tongue against Nina’s lips savoring her taste. He snaked his arms around Nina’s waist, drawing her closer to him. A small whimper escaped Nina as Dario’s hands roamed her body. She felt her body hum with need as he rubbed and squeezed at her flesh. A smarting slap from Dario caused Nina to mewl breaking the kiss.
“Fuck! Dario,” Nina whined. She leaned her forehead against Dario’s. She pulled back to see Dario’s face fully, her heart rattled against her chest as she ran her fingers through his hair.
“Mi hermosa mariposa," Dario murmured, hands drifted up and down the sides of Nina's torso. She felt a wetness begin to pool beneath her, the more Dario caressed her.
“I want you,”
Dario smiled softly. “Yeah?”
“Mhm,” Nina nodded her hands reaching for Dario’s belt buckle, but he stopped her.
“It’s not about me tonight,” he hoisted her up, wrapping her legs around him as he carried Nina to bed. Dario dropped her softly down the plush sheets. “It’s all about you,”
Nina could tell from the serious yet lustful glint in his eyes that Dario meant every word he said. She sat up on her elbows watching as Dario’s nimble fingers undid the belt of her robe. He pushed the fabric, revealing nothing but soft curves, rich brown skin and lacy fabric. With his pointer finger, Dario traced Nina's collar bone, dragging it down her navel, leaving a trail of goosebumps the further down he went. Nina's breath hitched in her throat as Dario's thumbs rubbed soft circles on the skin above the waistband of her panties.
"I like the way your eyes light up when I touch you, solecita,"
"Please, Dario. Enough games,"
Dario chuckled. He held her hips in place, sinking down to his knees.
"Patience," Dario held his gaze as he inched his head closer to Nina's clothed pussy. The two moaned in unison when Dario licked a stripe at Nina's clothed entrance. He continued on licking, probing, and mouthing her pussy. Moans fell helplessly from Nina's lips as she felt the lacy fabric rub against her clit. Dario relentlessly moved his tongue, spurring Nina on, she felt slick dripping downwards on her thighs.
"More. I need more, baby, please,"
It was like switch went off in Dario. He stopped all movement, as he just stared at Nina. Long eyelashes fluttered as he slowly blinked.
"Baby...say that again," he murmured.
"Baby," Nina cooed. She sat up, reaching for Dario, she cupped his cheek. He nuzzled her cheek, placing a kiss on her palm.
Then like a flash, Dario ripped Nina's panties a part. He skillfully gathered the torn shreds and flung them away. He dove straight for Nina's pussy. Despite his meticulous nature, when it came to pleasure Dario was sloppy. There was no spot or area left unattended. His tongue alternating between swirling and lapping Nina's clit. Dario's pace was so unrelenting, it sent Nina's body into throws of pleasure. Just when she felt the familiar coil in her belly, Dario pulled back, only to blow cooly onto her drenched pussy.
"B-baby, fuck!" Nina yelped aloud, her hands found themselves back into Dario's hair, as he returned back to her core.
He placed a wet kiss, creating a lewd smacking noise that echoed into the air. Dario dove back in, plunging his expertly skilled tongue into her entrance, fucking her. Nina felt like her entire body was on fire, completely blazed with pleasure as Dario relentlessly fucked her pussy. Her mind swirled feeling the familiar coil in her stomach become tighter and tighter.
"I-I'm gonna cum. Oooh shit," Nina panted. She pulled tighter at Dario's hair. "I'm c-cuming, fuckkkk!"
The coil snapped. Nina shakily thrusted her hips towards Dario's mouth, riding out her orgasm. Dario stayed still softly lapping up her cum, he did keep gentle hand on Nina's waist to steady her.
"Mhmmm, so good to me, baby, s'good," Nina loosen her grip on Dario's tresses, letting her arms fall back onto the bed.
Dario hummed appreciatively before pressing soft kisses on Nina's inner thighs. Her fluttered when she saw the slick sheen of her nectar glistening in Dario's mustache and goatee.
"You like when I'm good to you?" Nina could feel his grip on her thighs get tighter as he spoke. When Nina nodded instead replying, Dario slapped her thigh. "Words, Nina, I wanna hear you,"
"Yes!"
"Good. You gonna be good for me this time?" Nina hissed when two of Dario's fingers found her clit, rubbing taut circles.
"Yessss, I'll be good for you, baby!"
He quickly switched his technique, he plunged his fingers into her wetness. Nina whined at the squelching and lewd noises that her pussy made as Dario stroked in and out of her. Dario bent down and gave Nina searing hot kiss, he wedged his tongue inside of Nina's mouth, allowing her to taste herself.
"Please don't stop,"
"I won't mi amor, I can feel you...you close?"
"So close, baby, please,"
Dario slowed his pace down, giving Nina slower strokes, but drove deeper, and deeper every time. Her walls fluttered around his fingers when they met her oh so sweet spot. Nina's orgasm came swiftly as a fast-moving freight train. Her mind went blank, as she screamed out in pleasure. Nina's legs jerked and spasmed as her nectar flowed out in endless droves. Dario slowly slipped his fingers out, kissing the side of Nina's face as she reveled in the planes of ecstasy.
The two fell back into the bed. Nina snuggled up close to Dario's side, her fingers still tingly, traced the ink of his half-covered up tattoo. She looked out to the balcony. It was raining.
"I think we knew each other in our past lives..." Dario trailed, he kept his eyes towards the ceiling as spoke.
"As what? Enemies?" Nina teased.
"No," He sighed deeply, turning to meet her eyes. His face was open, vulnerable, Nina felt her heart flutter. "We were...something to each other, I know it..."
For the second time this night a quietness fell over them. They stared wordlessly at one another, as the raindrops lightly pelted outside. Nina didn't know what to make of Dario's sudden confession, or revelation. She did know that the way he looked at her in this moment, made her feel all mushy and gooey inside. Nina leaned in capturing Dario's lips into a passionate kiss.
"You know what I know," Nina purred parting from Dario's lips. She straddled him, reaching for his belt buckle, this time Dario didn't stop her. "Reciprocity...Can I have some more, baby?"
"Yes. Mi amor, in every lifetime."

Pacho Herrera as your Dom | nsfw
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I rarely write nsfw in russian and I've never done it before in english. And I've only started to learn spanish - thanks to Pacho - so I translated his phrases by google, let me know if something is wrong. Hope you'll enjoy)
• Pacho is a good diplomat, so he always talks to you. It's really important for him to know that you enjoy everything he's going to do with you.
• he gives you everything the best: clothes, jewelry, food, shampoos... sex-toys.
• he can make you feel like a queen. He often lets you choose what to eat, to wear, where to go. Pacho allows you to feel control, but actually he's always in charge.
• and you remember it in the bedroom (well, not only in the bedroom)
• "¿Dije que puedes tocarme?" (Did I say you can touch me?)
• "Quiero que sigas mirándome." (I want you to keep looking at me)
• "No, no cierres las piernas." (No, do not close your legs)
• he is much more experienced in sex than you, so he usually suggests you what he likes to do.
• and you agree, because you trust him.
• if you tell him that you want to try something, he would be glad to do it.
• like one day you mentioned that maybe you would like him to spank you. Pacho agreed enthusiastically, and spanking became his favourite way to pleasure or punish you.
• he always controls his emotions. So he will always punish you cool-headed.
• when you don't behave, he still makes you come. But only with his skilled fingers. No kisses, no hugs, your hands are tied to the bed, Pacho's full clothed, doesn't even take off his silk shirt, maybe he's even during his business call. "¿Querías tu orgasmo? Tómalo" (You wanted your orgasm? Take it). So you come but don't feel satisfied.
• if he was really mad at your bratty behaviour, you need to beg for forgiveness on your knees, rubbing up against Pacho's leg, looking him in the eyes. Maybe he will let you suck him.
• but usually Pacho is a god of a very long foreplay. He always takes his time and makes you an absolute mess. You could not even imagine that he can do that to you with only his kisses.
• he's a great kisser, we all know it.
• and oh, he likes to tease.
• "¿Qué deseas? Dime". (What do you want? Tell me)
No, necesitas ser más específico" (No, you need to be more specific)
• and it will continue until you describe him exactly what you need and beg him to do it.
• he often fucks you slowly and sensually.
• but don't forget, he likes control and wants you to do exactly as he says.
• he can be rough if you ask him (or if he asks you and you agree). And he spanks you, bites you, pins you to the bed and moves hard and steady.
• mirrors? Oh yes. Pacho likes to see both your butt and your face when he fucks you from behind. And you look at his concentrated face, falling apart.
• he's a voyeurist and enjoys to watch you strip, dance or parade for him.
• "Ahora quítate la blusa. Despacio" (Now take off your blouse. Slowly)
• did I mention that he can make you wet with only his words and low voice?
• but also he likes to know that someone of his servants or soldiers can see him with you. So Pacho asks you to suck him or warm him on the balcony or near the swimming pool. And you do it, full of embarrassment and excitement.
• "Que todos vean lo bueno(a) que eres para mí" (Let them all see how good you are for me)
If you like it, let me know. And maybe there would be a part two, about how Pacho introduces you to his colleagues and what they think about your relationships. And maybe some of them (Amado?) will join you.

𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐥 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤 - 𝐣𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐲𝐞𝐬 | 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝟖
things go better than expected, and jaime has so much more to learn about drea than he realised
masterlist | previous , next !
– pairings: jaime reyes x oc
– warning: fluff, canon divergent, blue beetle movie spoilers
– author’s note: DREA LORE!! was extremely excited to write this chapter hhehe! disclaimer: i’m not of Hispanic or Aztec descent and used a translator for certain terms, so do correct me if im wrong!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Ever heard of the galaxy, Cemanahuatlchan?”
Jaime frowned in confusion, briefly about to open his mouth to ask what Drea meant as Khaji-Da’s voice filled the silence of his thoughts.
“Cemanahuatlchan, also known as ‘Home Universe’ among Alejandra’s people. A neighbouring galaxy of the Milky Way. It consists of approximately the same number of Milky Way planets, eight hundred billion, and more.”
“Actually, I guess I do now?” Jaime smiled unsurely, Drea giggling softly in reply.
“Let me guess, the scarab told you about it, huh?” She queried, Jaime, nodding his head side to side, his smile growing wider guiltily.
“No matter, I’ll tell you more anyway.”
Lifting her left wrist, the half-human tapped on the thin material of one of the matching bracelets on her wrist, the other accessory’s counterpart on her right wrist. As soon as she lifted her finger, a hologram appeared, displaying a map of the galaxy the two young adults were discussing.
With her eyes locked on a singular speck, Drea pinched her fingers, the image enlarging to display a planet, its exterior pattern reminiscent of Jupiter’s. The slight difference was the three bright rings that surrounded it.
“That’s my Mama’s home planet. To her, it’s known as Chantlemauatl, Home Flame,” She hummed, Jaime, watching in awe.
With another quick tap to her bracelet, the hologram shifted into one of the natives of the planet, feathers adorning their headpieces, gold placed around their necks and arms, and vibrant paint swiped across their faces, more specifically, their eyes.
“But to those who are outsiders and know of its existence, it’s known as Tletlalia. Our culture, our language, it’s reminiscent of your ancient Aztec culture, I think. Even though our home planet birthed my people, the people of Chantlemauatl, the Comonqui, adapted to survive the conditions of our home.
“Our powers evolved as the climates of our planet began to change, and it would turn cooler by the year. It isn’t freezing, but it constantly rains, so to keep ourselves warm, our powers started to change to suit our needs, to benefit my people’s survival.
“Eventually, fire-related powers were one of the most useful powers we grew to have. More accurately, it’s the power of the majority of the population. Occasionally, there are a few variants to the main power, fire creation. Like mine, I have fire creation and fire manipulation. Somewhere in my ancestry, there was a variation, and it caused my mother and I to have both abilities.”
“Cool,” Jaime muttered, a small grin on his face. “What about that material you had? The one you used to fight with against Phantom?”
“Oh, it’s known as tecpatl. It’s a material that’s similar to your obsidian, except that it only hardens to that quality when in contact with flames, usually the flames of the Comonqui,” She grinned, pulling the said feather from her purse. “When not in contact, it’s just like feathers. The floating orbs, however, are called citlaltontli, small stars in English.”
“Are they made of a different material then?”
“Yeah, but they work just like tecpatl, only reacting to Comonqui flames,” She nodded eagerly. “My mother only brought a large pouch full of sand with her when she left home because it only takes a pinch of Tletlalia’s earth and a distinct type of flame to create any of these materials. I’m still learning the ropes to make it.
“In our culture, when a Comonqui is of age to be independent, they can either find their place in society or venture for new places to call home. My Mama, even though she was happy living on Tletlalia, she felt like she was missing something. So she left to find something new, and came to Earth.”
“And then, I’m assuming she met a guy, and then had you?” Jaime questioned while Drea tapped her bracelet a third time, the hologram disappearing.
“What? No, my Mama never had a lover on Earth before she met Amma,” She responded with a look of disbelief.
“Then how?”
“It’s a long, long story,” Drea sighed. “On our home planet, each person’s flame consists of a small trace of their DNA, it’s just a feature of our evolution. It makes it really convenient if there’s ever a crime committed because all it takes is a little DNA scan equivalent. But it’s also how reproduction works, especially with homosexual couples.
“Usually, for them, there’s a different and distinct kind of flame they both produce which fuses their DNA, but I’m not sure with the whole… er… process of it,” She flushed red, Jaime’s cheeks blooming into a similar shade of dark crimson.
“R-RIGHT, right,” He muttered, ignoring the way his voice cracked slightly. “Wait, isn’t your other mom human?”
“She is, therefore she can’t produce the flame. But my Mama did actually bargain with Bruce Wayne to help fuse their DNA and create me,” Drea casually leaned back in her chair.
“Hold up, your mothers know Bruce Wayne? As in, the Bruce Wayne?” He questioned with widened eyes, his disbelief growing into a smile.
“Yeah,” She shrugged. “They’re a mutual friend of Uncle Cl– I mean, Superman.”
“You know Superman too?!” His jaw dropped, and the female across from him laughed in amusement.
“I mean, it’s a small pool of humanoid extraterrestrials. Superman just had a little diplomatic convo with my mom, and they hit it off. He actually helped us find our home here,” She pulled her phone out, showing the young Mexican man a selfie of her, her mother and the man in the iconic blue, red and yellow suit.
Jaime’s chestnut eyes widened in excitement, and he took Drea’s phone from her hand gently as she giggled at his enthusiasm. As soon as his eyes were off the image, his eyes locked onto hers, a wide grin still plastered across his face.
“Any chance you could introduce us?” He grinned, Drea’s own smile growing from his good mood.
“Slim chance, but I could definitely give it a shot,” She winked, taking her phone back from him as Jaime’s cheeks warmed slightly, taken aback that she had it in her to wink at him so casually.
She didn’t mean it in that way. Right? Right…
Before he could let other thoughts plague his head, he let the one thought that preoccupied his mind the whole time finally escape his lips.
“Hey, Drea?” He asked softly, watching the way she turned to face his direction in response.
“Why are you telling me all of this?”
He watched the way she swallowed the lump in her throat, the way her hands darted to keep her phone in her purse, and the way one of her hands instantly rushed to rest at the back of her neck once it was done with handling her device.
Briefly, for just a short moment, Jaime saw a flash of fear and pain gloss over her light brown eyes, and he was struck with that sense of familiarity.
“Ah, uhm,” She began breathily, nervously fiddling with a few strands of hair, the other hand shoved into her jeans pocket. “Believe it or not, I uh… I don’t trust people easily, even if Milagro has become one of my best friends. It’s been… a long time since I’ve really told anyone who I am or where I’ve come from. And those didn’t… it didn’t go so well.”
She fiddled with her fingers, a soft yet sad smile growing at the memory of Bianca Reyes insisting on calling her ‘Tiá Bianca’, heartwarming in a bittersweet way.
“Your family though, you made me feel welcome. You all have no malicious intent, not a bad bone in any of you. You all made me want to trust you… And I mean, even though we had a rough start, you knew my secret, and I trust that you haven’t told anyone so… why not know each other a bit more before any more assumptions cause more problems?”
A teasing smile replaced her nervous grin, but the lingering emotions remained. Letting out a small, calming smile, Jaime nodded back, chuckling lightly at the joke.
“Yeah, yeah,” He huffed. “I’ve already apologised for it. How’d you know I had the scarab though?”
“I mean, it’s an alien species. And when you’re alien yourself, you get a rough idea of what’s out there. Just because we’re similar to the Aztecs doesn’t mean that we progress at the same speed as them,” She chuckled. “We do have technology there. And it’s pretty advanced, I gotta say.”
“Been there before?”
“Nah, but from the stories I heard from my mom? It sounds a little bit like paradise,” She sighed, twirling a strand of her hair around her finger. “She knows about the scarab too, by the way. She just didn’t tell me.”
“You told your mom about the scarab and I?” He frowned, a pang of betrayal shooting through him.
Instantly, Drea’s eyes widened, her hands pulling away from her hair as she waved them, her head shaking from side to side.
“What? No! Never! We made a promise, and I intend to keep it!” She reassured him, Jaime slinking back into the chair. “I just found a few of her old diaries in the attic. I rummaged through after we met. Found a whole bunch of diagrams and entries of the scarab and assumed that she knows of its existence and the extent of its powers.”
“Oh… oh, that kinda makes sense,” Jaime nodded, placing his cheek to rest on his palm, elbow hitched onto the arm of the chair. “Anything info about it that’s related to your history?”
“Oh, loads, but… maybe for another day,” She muttered tiredly. “Maybe when I actually have pictures of them. Forgot to take them when I was in the attic. Was too dark anyways.”
She then turned to face Jaime, eyes glimmering with curiosity and wonder as a small smile returned to her face. The young man across from her almost thought her expression to be cute before brushing the thought aside as nonsense.
“What about you though?” She questioned. “How’d you become the Blue Beetle?”
“Ah… uhm, I guess it’s your turn to buckle up,” He let out an airy laugh, head falling against the back of the chair.
“And I mean really, listen well, ‘cause it was… a really rough ride.”

el paraiso de las pandillas.
Tumblr media
Pairings: Pacho Herrera(Narcos : TV Series)x f!reader
Warnings: Guns,Blood(a lot of blood)
Synopsis: Y/N  are an ordinary woman who has lived a peaceful life in Colombia for two years, until one day a man appeared at your door covered in blood.
AN: I'm not a native English and I'm not good at English, but I hope you can understand what I'm writing. enjoy <3
Next Chapter
Part One :
Throughout her life, she had never made a mistake, not even once, until today.
Amid the debris and wreckage inside the restaurant that surrounded her, hot smoke from gunfire and the smell of death filled the air. She gasped for air, feeling more adrenaline than she had ever experienced before. She placed the gun in her hand forcefully onto the ground with a loud clatter. She raised her hands to cup her own face, realizing the enormity of the mistake she had just made.
How can it go wrong? She wondered.
In that moment, the young woman lifted her head and caught the gaze of another person standing not far away. A tall, well-dressed man from a famous brand who usually looked luxurious and handsome every time she saw him, except this time, his condition wasn't much different from hers. He was staring at her with wide-open eyes, but what emotion was it? Surprise? Shock? Or impressed? It was hard to tell.
In that moment, She understood deeply,
Pacho Herrera that hijo de puta, was her mistake in life.
✧◈ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ◈✧
Whenever someone here knows that you come from the United States, they always start with the same question: "Why did you move to Colombia?"
And your answer is always the same: "Because I can do so many good things here that I can't do in America."
Your story is simple, just a backpacking girl from the free world who accidentally fell in love with the beauty hidden in this country and decided to settle here. in a small, cheap rented house near the city, and support yourself by working as a high school teacher and volunteering as a community health worker every Saturday and Sunday.
Life during the two years in Colombia was mostly simple and peaceful. The only serious problem you encountered was dealing with underprivileged children in the classroom. There were those who were accustomed to bullying as a routine, girls who worked as prostitutes as a side job, and kid who sold drugs for money. This made it physically and emotionally challenging for you to be a good teacher to these kids.
You visiting the students homes to talk directly with their parents about the issues that arose. You found that, in general, each student was not inherently bad, but due to the societal circumstances of poverty, family institutions, and the country's chronic drug addiction problem, they had no other choice but to fall into such unfortunate circumstances.
Because you grew up in a relatively difficult family, burdened with deep-seated emotional scars, you was determined to provide your students with a better education and a brighter future, far from the troubles you had experienced. You genuine efforts paid off when your students accepted you as both a teacher and a close friend, and began to exhibit better behavior than before, which surprised everyone with the changes that the American girl had brought here.
Your good attitude, as a teacher and nurse who dedicated to helping the less fortunate, was accompanied by a striking appearance with fair skin and bright blonde hair that made you stand out from the locals. Soon, everything about you, including you looks and reputation, became well-known to everyone in the community.
That was what had happened to your life in the past two years, before everything was turned upside down when you entering the third year
And this story began with the sound of a gun.
It all started when you met him, on the day of the first gunshot that rang out in front of your own house.
✧◈ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ◈✧
Neighborhoods with affordable housing often come with problems. Despite this, it's the only place where you can afford to live, even if you have to deal with unreliable neighbors and noisy drunks every weekend. But everything changes when gunshots ring out on a Saturday evening. The loud noise makes your heart almost stop, and you don't know what's happening outside.
You're too scared to move from behind the sofa in your room. Your blood runs cold, and you feel like death is creeping up on you.
They say that when death is near, people often think about their past. That may be true because you're thinking about all the terrible things that have happened in your life. For a moment, you think you hear your mother's screaming voice, who died a long time ago. But when you listen carefully, you realize it's not your mother's voice, but someone else's voice asking for help from outside your room.
It's probably the dumbest decision you've ever made in your life to open the door to help a stranger. You know that the best thing to do right now is to sit still and pretend like nothing is happening until it's all over. But every minute that passes by slowly, you can't help but think about the voice asking for help outside your door.
It was just a moment of weakness, the only moment you agreed to open the door for someone to come in. He rushed in quickly and almost fell onto the carpet in the room if you hadn't grabbed his other arm first.
You found that he was a tall, handsome man with a mustache and slightly tousled hair. A moaning sound kept coming out of his mouth and the blood flowing from his abdomen let you know that he was seriously injured and if you didn't do anything, he could die right there.
It was fortunate that you were a volunteer nurse. You quickly dragged him onto the sofa before searching for first aid supplies that you could find at that time. You accidentally took a deep breath when you had to take off his shirt, and saw his bare body covered in blood. His face didn't look good at all, but he still had enough strength to talk to you.
"Thank you for opening the door."
You don't answer him. In reality, you didn't trust him, but his injury is the most important thing you need to pay attention to right now.
You tried your best to keep your hands as still as possible as the sharp tip of the knife entered the wound to extract the bullet. It was a fresh surgical procedure without any painkillers, and it was amazing that this man could endure it without screaming or groaning, even though there were occasional curse words coming out.
The three bullets have penetrated different parts of the body, but luckily none of them have hit any vital organs. You safely removed all the bullets and threw them on the table before starting to sew up the wound. You raised your head and observed him for a while to check if he was still alive, and every time you looked at him, he always looked back at you as if he never missed a beat with all your actions.
"You are very good at stitching wounds," he said.
'I'm a volunteer nurse,' you finally answered him, but you still remained guarded and tense, which was noticeable to him because he laughed softly.
"I've never seen a blonde woman in Colombia before," the man continued to try to strike up a conversation. "Where are you from, America?"
"Yes, but actually my mother is Argentinean," you replied.
"My mother is also from Argentina," he nodded slowly, his expression unchanged. "Normally I don't like gringos very much, but I'll make an exception for you."
His words sounded playful, and he still didn't take his eyes off you once. As you pick up the sanitary napkin that you bought and use it to soak up the blood from his wound. and trying not to stare at the gun tucked into his pants.
At this point, you began to worry more and more.
The man with the gun had only two options: the police or the bad guys.
And you have absolutely no idea who you are saving the life of?
"Are you scared?" he asked.
You flinched at his question, feeling like he could read your mind. Your breath trembled as you saw his large hand touch the gun. At this point, you regretted your decision to open the door for him without thinking. You were a lone woman with nothing but a kitchen knife, while he can blow your brains out whenever he wants to.
Even though you didn't know who he was,you stared into his dark brown eyes, begging him:
"I promise I won't say anything. No matter what anyone asks me, okay?"
His facial expression looked surprising, as if he wasn't ready or didn't expect to hear a begged from you. For a moment, it seemed like he was thinking about something that you couldn't possibly know, but it wasn't long before he turned his attention back to you.
"I promise I won't do anything to you, and I won't let anyone else do anything to you," he replied with a chuckle in his throat. A faint smile appeared on his pale face.
"Just know that a Colombian man keeps his promises for life,"
You weren't sure if his words were true or not but your intuition whispered to you to trust him. No matter what promises he gives, he will definitely do as he says.

Giving in to Desires - Simon Lewis x Female Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: Training with Simon gets a bit hot and heavy
Words: 1.4k
Warnings: none
Y/N’s POV
As I spar with Simon in the training room, his newly acquired vampire speed still leaves him somewhat clumsy. Despite his efforts, I manage to land a few taps with the metal training pole, each one eliciting the cutest laughter from him. His laughter is like music to my ears, filling the room with a sense of joy and lightness.
Simon makes a dash towards me, his vampire speed propelling him forwards and I try to sidestep his advance, having used my speed rune before we started. But, in a sudden movement, he sticks out his foot, catching me off guard and sending me sprawling to the ground. With a startled gasp, I feel myself falling, but instinctively, I reach out and grab onto Simon, pulling the flailing man down with me.
We land in a tangled heap, his weight pressing against me with a solid ‘oof’. For a moment, everything seems to stand still as I feel his body close to mine. His unneeded breath is coo; against my skin, and I can feel my heart rate increase slightly.
As we lie there, entangled on the ground, I take a moment to study Simon’s features. His tousled brown hair falling slightly in his face, and his dark eyes sparking with amusement despite our awkward predicament/ His features hold a boyish charm that never fails to captivate me.
I can feel my heart jackhammering in my chest as I resist the overwhelming urge to lean in and kiss him. It's as if my heart aches with longing, yearning for a connection that transcends the boundaries of friendship.
But, instead of succumbing to the temptation, I focus on the task at hand. With determination, I hook a leg around one of his and use my momentum to flip us over. As we untangle ourselves and I climb to my feet again, I can't help but steal a glance at Simon. Despite the slight flush on his cheeks from our tumble, he wears a playful grin, his eyes twinkling with mischief. In that moment, I'm reminded of why I'm drawn to him, why every moment spent in his presence feels like a gift.
With a determined spark in my eyes, I throw aside the training stick and raise my fists, ready to engage in hand-to-hand combat with Simon. His playful grin widens into a smile that momentarily catches me off guard, but I quickly shake off the distraction, focusing on the task at hand.
As we circle each other, a charged energy fills the air, crackling with anticipation. Every move Simon makes is fluid and deliberate, his vampire reflexes lending him an almost supernatural grace. But I refuse to back down, meeting his gaze head-on as we exchange playful banter amidst our combat.
With every punch thrown and dodge maneuverer, I can feel the adrenaline coursing through my veins, heightening my senses to a razor-sharp edge. Simon’s laughter rings out as we trade blows, a melody that drives me forward with renewed determination.
Despite the intensity of our training, there's an undeniable undercurrent of flirtation between us. Our movements are filled with teasing touches and lingering gazes, each exchange fuelling the fire that burns between us. It's as if the boundaries between sparring partners and something more blur with each passing moment, leaving us both intoxicated by the electric connection we share.
Suddenly, Simon catches me off guard with a swift move he could only have ever learnt off Jace, he manages to twist one of my wrists behind my back and presses me against the wall. His solid figure flush against my back, sending a jolt of electricity through me as I feel the coolness radiating from him.
I gasp in surprise as his sudden manoeuvre leaves me pinned and at his mercy, my heart pounding erratically in my chest. With his nose dragging along my jugular he whispers, “You're quite the challenge, you know that?" His voice is laced with a playful undertone, sending a thrill coursing through me. "But I wouldn't have it any other way," he adds, his words dripping with flirtation, causing my heart to race even faster.
Caught between the wall and his firm hold, I struggle to regain my composure, my mind spinning with a heady mixture of desire and exhilaration. Every inch of my skin tingles with anticipation, craving the electrifying touch of his lips against mine.
“S-Si…” I choke out, my breath catching in my throat as his lips, cold and plump, press against my shoulder, sending a shiver down my spine. It's as if he's trying to hold himself back, the restraint palpable in his touch. I let my head fall back onto his shoulder, exposing my neck to him. His icy hands release my wrist, instead resting gently on my hips, sending a jolt of electricity through me. My chest heaves with exertion and anticipation, the air thick with unspoken desires.
This side of Simon is unlike anything I've ever seen before, but I find myself unable to resist the magnetic pull of his touch. His closeness fills me with a sense of longing and yearning, igniting a fire within me that threatens to consume us both.
As Simon spins me around, his strong arms framing my body with his, I feel a rush of emotions flood through me. His closeness, the heat of his body pressed against mine, sends my senses into overdrive. I’m consumed by a fierce longing and yearning, a desire that threatens to overwhelm me.
When I hear him ask if he's reading the situation wrong, those words are all it takes for my restraint to snap. Without a second thought, I find myself gripping his messy locks, pulling him closer with an urgency I can't contain.
Our lips meeting a messy kiss, teeth clacking and tongues clashing. The air crackles with electricity as the heat between us ignites a passionate inferno, consuming us both in its fiery embrace. It's a kiss born from the depths of longing and desire, a culmination of the unspoken tension that has simmered between us for far too long.
As our mouths meld together, I'm enveloped in the heady scent of Simon. It's a tantalising mixture of earthiness and something uniquely him, a scent that intoxicates my senses and leaves me craving more. Despite his vampire nature, there's a gentleness in his touch, a careful tenderness that belies his newfound strength.
His lips, cool and soft, move against mine with a delicate precision, as if he's afraid to break the fragile connection between us. Every brush of his lips sends shivers down my spine, igniting a passionate fervour within me that I can't contain.
As we lose ourselves in the intensity of our kiss, a low whistle suddenly pierces the air, making us jump apart, our faces flushing crimson with embarrassment. My heart races as I turn to see Jace, Clary, Alec, and Izzy standing there, varying expressions of amusement and surprise etched on their faces.
Izzy, always quick with a remark, can't help but quip, "Well, well, well, looks like the training room has turned into a bedroom for lovebirds." Her tone is light and teasing, but there's a hint of amusement in her eyes that tells me she's secretly enjoying the spectacle.
I feel a pang of embarrassment wash over me as I realise that our private moment has been interrupted by our friends. But despite the awkwardness of the situation, there's a sense of camaraderie among us, a bond that transcends even the most embarrassing of moments.
As we gather ourselves and attempt to regain our composure, I exchange a sheepish glance with Simon, our eyes silently communicating the shared understanding of the unexpected turn of events. And as we prepare to face our friends, I can't help but feel grateful for their presence, knowing that no matter what challenges may come our way, we'll always have each other's backs.
“Duly noted.” Simon nods, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly before he’s grinning and winking at me, “Why don’t you show me your room?”
“Simon!”

Marcovaldo family x Reader
A/N: Massimo with a Feminine S/O, takes place after Massimo adopts Alberto.
My masterlist is -> here
Massimo (Luca)
Tumblr media
Massimo is a kind man, we all know that.
He likes to hold your hands in his larger ones. He is a softly for the ones he loves.
Cooking together and walks are things he enjoys doing with you.
He isn't the jealous type, he trusts you completely.
He is a big guy so he gives you ever bigger hugs that last a few seconds unless he's in a hurry. Then it's just a quick hug.
He adores the things you do. Even if it is simple as doing something right. He treats you like you are the only person in the world.
Massimo may be a tall man with little words but his eyes and hands tell a different story. His light touches are gentle and love is always shown in his eyes as he looks at you. It's obvious that he wants to spend the rest of his life with you.
His daughter, Giulia, felt indifferent about you at first.
She wants what is best for her father and wants him to be happy.
But she also doesn't feel like he needs another potential spouse after him and her mother.
She felt like her father and mother would get back together but gave up on that hope after a while.
Giulia slowly warms up to you after seeing how happy you make Massimo.
She told her dad and admitted to you that she'd never call you "Mama" or "Mom".
You gently reassured her that it is completely okay if she never does. And you also told her that you'd never replace her mother which she greatly appreciated.
Massimo does plan things between the three of you to try and bond.
The man is a giant sweetheart when it comes to you and his daughter.
If he ever saw you and Giulia sleeping beside each other due to her accidentally falling asleep by you... Mans has an overload of emotions.
Of course he doesn't show it all that much but you can tell that he enjoys seeing you and his daughter getting along.
On the other hand, Alberto kinda liked the idea of having a mother figure in his life.
He thinks it is nice that Massimo found someone who loves him.
Alberto was hesitant at first during your first encounter but very soon he warmed up to.
He'd be protective over you if anyone came around you for too long.
He wouldn't admit it, but he enjoys moments when you run your fingers through his curly hair while he's in your lap. Instantly knocked out 'cause of it being so relaxing.
He would call you "Mama" or "Mom" at one point in yours and Massimo's relationship.
Alberto would want to show you everything he is proud of. How good he swims, how he can ride a bike, how fast he can climb, etc.
Moving on to tiny oneshot...
"Giulia! Alberto! Dinner is ready!" You yelled from the kitchen. When you received no response, you went outside and yelled it again towards the beach.
Giulia and Alberto looked at each other and big smiles broke out onto their faces. Giulia stood up before he could. "Race ya home!"
The boy quickly got up and laugher erupted from the both of them. They were both out of breath when they reached the house. Alberto put his hands on his knees and swallowed as he panted. "I won."
You smiled and rolled your eyes seeing the two of them compete against one another. "Come on you two. Eat before the food gets cold." You sat plates down onto the wooden table for everyone including yourself.
Giulia threw her hands in the air. "Yes! Trenette al Pesto!" Her and Alberto stuffed their faces with the pasta that you cooked.
You chuckled softly at the display and shook your head. "Woah woah, slow down. You're going to choke if you eat that fast."
Alberto shrugged and put more of the noodles on his fork. "It's alright Mama, I won't." The boy stopped mid bite with the fork close to his mouth; his mouth wide open. He was frozen as he realized what he had said. Giulia looked at him with big surprised eyes and her cheeks looked like a chipmunk since she was eating when he spoke.
Massimo raised one of his thick eyebrows while you tried not to tear up. Alberto put the fork down and finally looked at you. He cleared his throat and nervously met your eyes. "I'm sorry, it just slipped out."
You weren't mad or weirded out by him calling you 'Mama'. You found it sweet and made your heart swell. You leaned forward and put a gentle hand on the boy's shoulder. "Don't be sorry. I don't mind if you call me that. If you want to, you can."
Alberto smiled. "Really? I-I can?" He immediately jumped down from his seat and hugged you tightly. You blinked down at him but then happily smiled and wrapped your arms around him. Giulia was now smiling softly at the scene with her head tilted. Massimo cracked a smile and put a forkfull of pasta in his mouth.

A thump rang throughout his chest as Jaime did a double take at the message, his face heating up.
“Hey, Khaji, just to make sure, I’m not seeing things, right?” He muttered, pushing the hair out of his squinted eyes, re-reading the message repeatedly.
“Jaime, your vision is excellent. Alejandra has invited you to her place since her pet wants to meet you.”
“Why do you call her Alejandra? I’m pretty sure she’d be okay with you using her nickname,” Jaime shrugged, pushing himself out of bed as he suddenly felt conscious of what he was wearing.
“If her name is Alejandra, I shall address her as so, I have no emotional attachment to her,” Khaji-Da responded plainly, Jaime rolling his eyes.
“Could you at least try? It’s so weird not hearing her being called by her nickname.”
“Not likely.”
“Muy bien entonces, criatura terca,” Jaime muttered under his breath, pocketing his phone as he pushed his room door open, now wearing a baggy set of jeans, his navy blue shirt beneath a light blue and white, short-sleeved flannel.
“Jaime,” Bianca Reyes beamed, looking up from the paper in her hands as she spotted her son emerge from his room, glad to see him going places instead of being cooped up in his little room, despite him only coming out for breakfast this morning.
Noticing her son dressed up to go out, her brow furrowed, placing her pen down for the shortest moment as Jaime hummed back at her, leaning his weight against the back of a nearby chair.
“Mijo, ¿a dónde vas? I thought you didn’t have anything planned?” She tilted her head to look up at her son, Jaime walking closer to her to place a little peck on the top of his mother’s head.
“I won’t be far, Mamá. I’m heading over to Drea’s, she’s invited me over.”
“Él se fue a verla de nuevo, ¡le gusta!” Nana called out from the living room’s couch, Jaime’s eyes rolling lightheartedly.
“No es nada, Nana,” Jaime sighed with a smile, used to the teasing. “She’s just a good friend, I guess.”
“She’s got a point, Cabrón,” Rudy smirked, the front door of the single-storey house thudding closed behind him.
“You have been hanging around her quite a bit. ¡Deberías llevarla a una cita y mostrarle el amuleto de Reyes!”
Hearing that caused Jaime to flush a bright red, Rudy letting out a boisterous laugh at his nephew’s reaction, walking over to the young man and landing a heavy back slap on Jaime, the young Mexican hero wincing slightly.
“Okay, okay,” Bianca sighed with a smile. “Let’s leave him be, go on your little hang out. Dinner’s at six-thirty, no negotiations. ¿Lo entiendes?”
“Sí, Mamá,” He sighed, letting his mother affectionately pat his cheek.
She smiled up at him softly, before her forefinger and thumb pinched Jaime’s cheek tugging gently as her son complained at the discomfort despite being twenty-two.
“Y recuerda, compórtate bien. ¡Sin travesuras! Todavía soy demasiado joven para ser abuela,” She lectured, Jaime’s hand wrapped around hers to try and pull her hand away, the rest of the Mexican family laughing at their antics.
With a final tug, Bianca released her son’s cheek, Jaime sighing as he put on his sneakers, and walked right out of the door with a warm smile, realising that he could never find it in himself to dislike their affectionate teasing.
Sauntering over to his neighbour’s house, he glanced behind him, feeling eyes trained on the back of his head. Turning the slightest, Jaime noticed the way the curtains of his kitchen’s windows shifted ever so slightly, and a chuckle escaped his lips, realising his family’s gaze wouldn’t leave him anytime soon.
Finally, his feet halted, realising that he stood in front of his neighbour’s lawn, and for some reason, he suddenly felt nervous. Shoving his hands back into his pockets, his fingers fiddled with the threads. A new nervous habit, he noted, taking in a final deep breath as he marched on to her front door.
Deep in his mind he could hear Rudy’s slight sigh of disappointment, muttering something along the lines of, “Ay, ay, ay…"
Now face-to-face with the mahogany door of the Tlatilpas, Jaime lifted his fist, knuckles hovering over the dark wood before leaning his head back, mustering up all of his courage to knock on the door.
The knocks echoed throughout the area, and for a brief moment, everything stilled. And then the door jolted open, revealing a woman who towered over him behind a patterned, iron grill gate.
Her short, dyed hair was parted at the right of her scalp, a tattoo visible on her upper right arm – it’s pattern almost resembling one of Drea’s golden arm cuffs of her hero costume.
The red spaghetti top she wore exposed her lean physique and a baggy pair of white shorts wrapped around her hips, but her muscles were still visible as she tilted her head, and Jaime just felt the slightest bit intimidated.
That was until she let out a large smile, hands rushing to unlock the extra form of protection before finally opening it successfully. She tugged at the gate - with an almost unnecessary amount of force, Jaime might add - before opening her arms wide.
“And you must be Jaime Reyes! Milagro’s brother, right?” She asked eagerly, her voice rich and warm. Jaime could suddenly tell which parent Drea got her constant stream of energy from.
“Sí, Mrs Tlatilpa,” He smiled nervously, eyes snapping open as she pulled him into a deep, bear hug.
“Ah, I have so much to thank you and your sister for! My little Spark doesn’t make friends easily, and it’s so good to hear that she trusts you both with her life! It’s so nice seeing her happy again.”
“O-Oh?” Jaime wheezed slightly with a wince before being released from her constrictive grip. “I, uh, I’m honoured, Ma’am.”
“Please, Tiá Zara would do just fine,” She beamed. “I’ll go call Drea, you go make yourself comfortable!”
She scooted slightly, letting Jaime through, and he could hear the thud of iron from behind him as she locked the gate again, but as he glanced around, Jaime looked in awe at the cosy little living room around him.
Pictures of the family of three were present on almost every wall, a few black and white pictures framed up alongside them, but not as meticulously kept, as dust gathered on the glass frame protecting the almost faded image.
The green of the potted plants stood out against the vermilion-painted walls, a comfy-looking beige couch resting against the wall as a plush and fuzzy persian carpet rested underneath the glass and teak-framed coffee-table, the television across it reflecting his image in the darkness. A pile of hard-cover books rested above it, for anyone who was interested to take a peak.
Walking around the room, Jaime took a little peak at everything, though his intuitive eye lingered longer on any image he assumed was Drea’s a little longer than expected. A smile was soon plastered on his face at the sight of an energetic little girl standing on a chair, her wide smile missing two-front teeth as a large cake was placed before her.
Her dark brown strands were barely tamed, giving the young girl a wild look, but the tiny crown that sat on her head and her upright posture made her almost seem regal at a glance.
Quickly, he pulled his phone out, snapping a shot of the image before his phone disappeared into the darkness of his pocket. Once in a while, a few embarrassing photos would be nice as ‘blackmail’.
“I see you found her fifth birthday picture,” Zara grinned, watching Jaime with crossed arms. “Yeah, that one was too cute not to hang up. She still insists I take it down, but we both know that it’s never going to happen.”
Zara then approached the younger male, seating herself on the coach as Jaime turned to look at more of the pictures. He brushed over the faded family photos, almost recognising one of the younger girls as Aunt Anika before moving onto the next one, deciding not to pry.
“Jaime, I’d like a word with you,” Zara began, her warm tone turning strict and reserved. “It’s regarding Drea.”
Instantly, he turned around, a furrow in his brow. He watched as the older woman stood up on her feet, walking closer to the male as her hands heavily landed on his shoulders.
“Now, I know that my daughter has trusted you with information that wasn’t your right to know, but she trusted it with you anyways. And she’s had a tough time finding the people to choose to be her friends, you’re lucky to be one of them,” She spoke, looking Jaime dead in the eye.
“However, though I may like you for keeping silent so far, if a word ever slips past your lips, and it ever puts her at risk? I can’t guarantee that you will be friends for much longer,” The look in her eyes turned almost sad, almost guilty for threatening her daughter’s friendships.
“You must understand, I do this because I love her, and I won’t stand idly aside if anything bad ever happens to her. Do you get me?”
He watched as she practically begged him with her eyes, his throat going dry as he nodded, knowing that if his own family’s safety was compromised, he’d do anything to make sure they’d be safe. And with the look Drea’s mother gave him, he felt the urge to protect Drea with the same amount of care too.
‘I do, Tiá, more than you know,” A determined look rested on his face as Zara let out a smile of relief, her hand patting his shoulders in a proud manner.
“Ese es un buen chico.”
And so she turned around, ready to continue with whatever she was doing before he had arrived, her fingers lightly brushing on the walls before she came to a halt, turning her head to face Jaime one last time before she took her leave.
“Oh, and one last piece of advice, from one hero to another, maybe find a better spot to transform behind the garbage skips. It’s more visible than you think.”
And so she left, Jaime’s jaw slacking before he shook his head, hand darting to scratch the scalp of his head in embarrassment at the advice. Part of him wanted to beg Zara not to tell anyone, to keep his secret to herself, but realising that there was no malice in her tone, just the pure willingness to help the boy, he relaxed.
But only the slightest.
However, a smile broke out on his face once more as he spotted a familiar friend come into view, rushing after a little brown blur of fur.
“Oh, hey, Jaime!”

Previous : Next (Soon)
Part Two :
That man left in the morning when the sun rose. What was left in front was a mess of blood that made you spend a long time cleaning. And beyond that was a deep-seated suspicion that was difficult to eliminate.
Everywhere in Colombia, which used to be beautiful and charming in the midst of bright sunlight, whether it was the clear blue sea, various coffee shops, markets, churches, it turned out to be hidden in darkness that cannot be seen. Anything could happen, Anything like gunshots and strange men who come with blood all over their bodies.
You did not inform the police about what had happened, not just because you wanted to keep the words you had said before, but because of your own anxiety. If you spoke up, that man and his gun might come back to deal with you at any time. You knew very well since you met that he could easily kill you without you realizing it, and the only reason you were still alive was because he chose to spare your life.
It was as if everything in life was beyond control, as if there was nothing you could do anymore. You did not want to encounter such a crazy situation again, especially with that man. Meeting him once was more than enough.
You desperately wanted your life to be normal again without even realizing that it was just the beginning of a nightmare.
"Wow, what a strong wind! Did it blow this Chica here?"
a playful remark made by a bartender at a local nightclub called "Copa Cabana"  which always happens on any night you choose to go out for a drink outside.
You didn't respond anything except for raising your middle finger before sitting down on the wooden bar stool next to the third bar seat, your regular spot. Before you could even order, the bartender behind the wooden bar had already placed a glass of whiskey with ice cubes in front of you.
"Whiskey on the Rock" Manny spoke warmly to the American customers who came here often until they became friends. "You've been missing for a while , stuck with work at the school or something?"
Two months, you thought, Two months since that night when you had to sit and pick bullets out of a stranger's man who was shot. You took a long breath before downing the whiskey in one shot, the bitter taste burning your throat slightly.  You raised the glass for a refill, and Manny laughed before filling it up immediately. "You don't have to drink that fast. You'll get drunk quickly. Take it easy," he added.
You ignored his warning because your desire tonight was to drink until you were drunk as quickly as possible, then stumble back home to sleep without having to worry about anyone else showing up to ask for help. "If I can't make it, will you carry me back?"
Manny grinned with a smile before picking up a nearby empty glass and wiping it clean with a napkin. "If I didn't know you before, I would think you were hitting on me," he joked.
He played it off, but you didn't feel like laughing with him. You are still thinking about what happened two months ago. Doing good deeds will always bring good rewards; that's what your mother always taught you when you were still a child. However, you weren't sure if the decision to do good that night would bring you any good rewards in return.
You were lost in your own thoughts and didn't notice the changing atmosphere in the nightclub. until you noticed that many people's eyes were turned towards the same direction, including Manny, who muttered to himself, "Oh no," before looking at you as if to warn you–not to turn around.
But curiosity got the best of you, and you couldn't resist glancing back at the newcomer. At that moment, you feel a deep sadness that you didn't believe Manny at first.
A group of at least five big men were standing by the door, all armed with guns holstered on their hips. But the most striking one was the handsome young man in the middle, with a strong and confident demeanor, dressed in a smooth and well-fitted black leather jacket. His intense gaze swept through the club, scrutinizing everyone, before locking onto you and revealing a look of surprise when he saw you.
You quickly turned away from his gaze, even though you knew you had already caught his attention.
You would never forget his face, just as he would never forget yours, especially since he was the same person you saved two months ago.
Manny noticed everything, but he was a good employee who was smart enough to know when to speak and when to remain silent. Everything around you seemed to be quiet and tense, so quiet that you could hear footsteps behind you, followed by the smell of expensive cologne and the sharp scent of cigarettes when another person moved to sit in the chair next to you. You pursed your lips and drank your whisky until your glass was empty, allowing the alcohol to flow into your bloodstream before turning to face this man.
His deep brown eyes looked at you without blinking, his perfectly trimmed beard under his thin lips just barely lifting into a small smile when he greeted you, making it seem as if he knew you well.
"We haven't seen each other in a while."
You glanced at Manny, noticing him bowing his head and lowering his eyes. Although you were a foreigner who had not been here long, you were smart enough to guess that everyone knew and feared this man.
"I didn't expect to see you again." You crafted a friendly smile for the person next to you. "What brings you here?"
"Just taking care of some personal business that was delayed two months ago," he said casually, as if talking about unimportant things in life. But for you, who might know the details of what happened two months ago, it wouldn't be difficult to guess why he appeared here and why there were a few drops of blood on his shoes and pants.
It's better not to doubt. You carefully avert your gaze before pretending to drink your own whisky. The dull colors start to flush on the side of your cheek in proportion to the strong alcohol in your body.
"Oh, I haven't introduced myself yet." The man said it politely, extending his hand to you. "Pacho Herrera."
Pacho Herrera That was the name he told you that day. And if you could choose, you wouldn't want to know this man at all.
"Y/N"
You grasp his hand, the strong pressure of Pacho's hand adding to the effect of the whisky you had just consumed, making your pulse slightly higher than before. You quickly released his hand, as it felt hot to the touch. It seemed rude, but Pacho didn't hold it against you. He turned to the bartender behind the counter and ordered what he wanted.
"I'll have a Daiquiri for me and whatever Monada wants."
The cash thrown on the table was enough to buy all kinds of liquor sold in the nightclub, and the glasses were filled with whiskey almost immediately after Pacho ordered, followed by the Daiquiri placed next to it. He grabbed his own glass and raised it to you, sending a small smile that blended charm and danger.
You wanted to get up and leave this place too much, but the only thing you could do right now was to pick up the glass of whisky and clink it with his before taking another sip while realizing in fear that you had no way of going home anytime soon.
✧◈ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ◈✧
When the morning sunlight shines into the eyes, it slowly wakes up a sleeping girl amidst a throbbing headache from hangover. You try to stay calm and take a deep breath until you realize that the place you're in right now is not your own home, but somewhere unfamiliar to you.
The spacious bedroom is covered in soft, light-colored silk sheets, and the room is illuminated by white and gold-dotted curtains from floor to ceiling. When you decide to step outside, everything is more extravagant than before. You walk slowly, confused, and dazed by the remnants of the drunken stupor that lingers in your head.
What crazy thing happened last night?
Suddenly, you hear someone talking loudly from ahead. You choose to quietly follow the sound until you reach a room that looks like a large kitchen. You are startled to see several armed men standing guard. They all turn to look at you with stern eyes, except for one man who is sitting drinking black coffee and reading the news comfortably in a white bathrobe.
It's Pacho Herrera, the man you met at the nightclub last night.
Memories are starting to come back a little bit. You only remember drinking with him last night, but the rest was empty, like a blank piece of paper without any letters. Pacho raised his eyebrows as if he knew that you were staring at him. A slight smile appeared on his face before he gestured to the chair opposite him.
"Come sit here. I think you might be hungry, so I had someone make breakfast for us."
You still stood there, refusing to follow his invitation. "What happened last night?" you asked.
"You really can't remember anything? That's too bad" Pacho took another sip of coffee before continuing, "It's not a big deal. You were very drunk last night, so I took you to my home. Then we had sex, that's all."
The answer you heard made your body stiffen. Your pale face became even paler than before, and Pacho chuckled lightly at the shock written all over your face. "I'm kidding. But are you going to keep standing there? Have a seat."
Pacho's demeanor changed as he placed his hands under his chin  and stared straight at you with eyes that seemed to be peering into your soul. as if he could see every dark secret of yours with just one glance. You were silent for a moment before taking a deep breath and finally walking over to sit across from him, trying not to show any signs of being startled for him to see.
When Pacho waved his hand, everyone in the room left, leaving only you and him alone. He slid a plate of sandwiches and hot coffee towards you, but you didn't want to touch it. The increasing pressure was getting to you, making you lose your appetite.
"Do you know I also have a business in New York? So, I get to hear a lot of news from that side as well. And when you told me that you were American, it reminded me of some news I had heard before," he said.
It didn't sound like good news at all, and you could feel it in your gut from the moment you laid eyes on him.
"Do you familiar with the Moltisanti family? They're an Italian mafia that holds power in New York. We had the opportunity to do business together often. It seems like they're looking for a certain woman. She is the daughter of Christopher, the big boss of the Moltisanti family, who disappeared two years ago. And you've been here in Colombia for two years now. What a coincidence, don't you think?"
Your anxiety came rushing back. You realized that you weren't prepared enough for this situation, you just didn't think it would happen so soon.
"You're right. I am the missing daughter," you said, clenching your trembling hands tightly and looking up resolutely. "But I am just an illegitimate daughter who is insignificant. Everything about Moltisanti has nothing to do with me. I suggest that you and your 'Los Caballeros de Cali' should not take any interest in me."
Gentlemen of Cali  is one of the nicknames for the Cali Cartel, the criminal group of godfathers in Colombia, who produce and export cocaine almost worldwide. Consisting of four main founders: Gilberto Rodríguez, Miguel Rodríguez,José Santacruz and the last person is sitting right in front of you, Pacho, who is the most notorious in terms of cruelty, intelligence, and charm, making him the main face and brain of the gang.
He is not the only one who is determined to investigate your history after meeting you that night. You are also determined to investigate his history.
"We don't have any problems with the Moltisanti, at least not right now," Pacho move forward, creating an uncomfortably close proximity with clear intention to press on. "I just have a question. Will you not be a problem for us in the future?"
Pacho wanted to see a hint of fear or unease in your eyes, like anyone else would when caught with a secret they didn't want to reveal. But what he received in return was a cold, intimidating gaze.
"You may have forgotten that two months ago, I saved your life. Without me, you wouldn't be sitting here," your voice was harsher than usual and you didn't look away even for a second. "You promised me that you won't do anything to me, and you won't let anyone else do anything to me. I hope a gentleman from Columbia like you will keep his promise for life."
Your words made Pacho pause for a moment before his old smile slowly returned, now with a hint of surprise and satisfaction.
"I really like you a lot, Chingona." That's not a fake or deceitful word to please you, and it's uncommon for someone like Pacho to be so straightforward with others. At a moment when his complex emotions were projected through the dark tint of his eyes, he looked at you and said, "Maybe I can help you escape from your family drama."
You paused and furrowed your brows slightly "You already know?"
"It's not hard to guess. Christopher is seriously ill, and right now Tommy, your older brother, is taking over as the head of the gang. I guess he doesn't like having a young sister around much, and Colombia is a good place to hide from the influence of American mafia. Am I right?"
There was something in his brown eyes that you didn't like at all. It was a very gentle emotion, almost sympathy or empathy. "Well, That's close, but not entirely" you slowed down, seeing no benefit in concealing anything from this man.
"If you were mine, you wouldn't have to worry about the Moltisanti family interfering with you again."
"Are you saying you want me to be your whore?"
Pacho shrugged nonchalantly. "I haven't really thought about that, but it's okay if you want to be." Pacho laughed again, not sure how many times the woman in front of him had made him laugh today. "Speaking bluntly, I'm quite impressed with many things about you. Plus, our main market is already in America. It would be great if we had some beautiful Americans helping us out. I can send you back home and guarantee your safety. What do you think?"
"I remember you said that you didn't like gringos."
"And I also remember that I make an exception for you."
This is not like a negotiation proposal at all,  but more like a heated argument between two people who know each other well. Although you two only met twice.
"Thank you for the offer, but I still insist that it's best for both of us to stay apart." You took a deep breath and let out a small smile before picking up your cold coffee cup and taking a sip. The bitter taste at least helped to sober you up a little. You stood up to your full height and reached out to him. "I hope we can put this behind us."
Pacho didn't immediately take your hand. He just looks at you with an unreadable eyes before standing up as well and finally accepting your hand in the end. "I'll walk you out," he said.
"In this outfit?" You looked at the bathrobe on his body with a strange face, but Pacho didn't answer. He arranged his hand on your back before pushing you forward at a steady pace, not too slow and not too fast. Passing through the shady garden with blooming flowers and a large pond decorated with strange animal sculptures until you reached the menacing-looking bodyguards who eyed the two of you without blinking.
When you arrived at the imposing gate of the house, he kissed you lightly on the cheek and said, "See you later."
There's absolutely no way. You're thinking but not speaking. You just smile politely at him before hurrying out of here without looking back even once. despite feeling his sharp gaze following you until it's out of sight.
At that moment, you didn't think much about it, except feeling a great sense of relief that you had escaped from that crazy situation. But if you ponder a little bit about his last sentence, you might need to be more cautious
Because no one can avoid the godfather. That's the truth that you'll deeply understand later.

Heart’s Desire - Simon Lewis x female reader
Tumblr media
Summary: What if it's you, Clary and Simon who visit the Seelie realm, Simon having to pick
Words: 2.4k
Warnings: angst; fluff
Notes: There might be a part two im not sure yet
Y/N’s POV
Plunging into the icy depths of the winter water in Central Park was not on my bucket list of things to do today. Or to do ever actually but here we are, me Simon and Clary, jumping into the water like it’s an everyday occurrence. The shock of the cold steals my breath away, the frigid embrace of the water envelopes me, numbing my senses for a fleeting moment before the adrenaline kicks in. Darkness surrounds me, broken only by the occasional glimmer of light filtering through the surface above.
With a burst of determination, I kick against the water, propelling myself upwards with all the strength I can muster. My lungs burn with the need for air, and just as I feel like I can’t hold on any longer, I break through the surface, gasping for air.
And suddenly, I’m not in Central Park anymore.
As I gasp for air, blinking away the water from my eyes, I find myself in a realm unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. The shock of the transition from icy water to this new world leaves me momentarily disoriented, but as I take in my surroundings, awe washes over me.
The Seelie Realm stretches out before us, transformed by a blanket of pristine white snow. Everywhere I look, snow capped trees tower majestically, their branches adorned with delicate icicles that shimmer in the soft light. The air is crisp and clean, carry with it the scent of pine and magic, and the ground beneath our feet is soft with freshly fallen snow.
Simon and Clary emerge from the water beside me, their faces reflecting the same wonder and amazement that I feel. Despite the cold plunge we just took, we find ourselves miraculously dry, as if the very essence of the Seelie Realm itself has welcomed us and granted us safe passage. That should be a good thing but with the Seelie Queen and her tricks… I really don’t think so .
Together, we make our way through the winter wonderland, our footsteps leaving a trail of imprints in the snow. As we walk, I can't help but marvel at the beauty that surrounds us—the way the sunlight filters through the trees, casting a warm golden glow on the snow-covered ground, and the way the gentle breeze carries with it the soft tinkling of bells in the distance.
As we approach the Seelie Court, Simon and Clary walk slightly behind me, allowing me to take the lead as the envoy for our group. The crunch of snow beneath our boots is the only sound as we make our way through the enchanting forest, the anticipation of meeting the Seelie Queen hanging heavy in the air.
Finally, we reach the grand entrance of the Seelie Court, its towering spires reaching toward the sky like fingers grasping for the stars. The doors swing open before us, revealing the opulent interior of the court, adorned with shimmering crystals and intricate vines wrapping their way around almost everything they can get their grip on.
At the centre of it all sits the Seelie Queen, her throne raised on a dais of more vines and flowers. She appears no older than a child of ten, with long scarlet hair and clear, blue eyes, wearing an intricate golden circlet for a crown. Those eyes betray a wisdom far beyond her physical years, sparkling with mischief and ancient knowledge.
She watches us with a gaze that seems to pierce straight through our souls, her expression unreadable as we approach. The air humming with anticipation, the weight of her presence almost tangible as we come to stand before her throne.
I take a deep breath, steeling myself for the encounter, and then I bow low before the Seelie Queen, Simon and Clary following suit beside me. As I lift my gaze to meet hers, I can't help but feel a sense of awe and reverence for this powerful being who holds sway over the realm of the Seelie.
“Welcome, shadowhunters,” She says, her voice like the tinkling of bells on a winter’s breeze, “What brings you to my court on this day?”
I straighten, meeting her gaze with as much confidence as I can muster. "We come seeking your aid, Your Majesty," I reply, my voice steady despite the nerves that flutter in my stomach. "There are matters of great importance that require your wisdom and guidance.”
As I finish speaking, a sudden sensation of pressure grips my body, causing me to gasp in shock for the second time today. I look down to see thick vines bursting from the ground, wrapping tightly around my legs and binding them together. Panic surges through me as I struggle against the entangling tendrils, but it's no use. The vines seem to have a will of their own, their thorns digging into my skin, piercing through layers of clothing.
A whimper escapes me as I feel my arms being trapped at my sides by more vines, leaving me completely immobilised. I glance around frantically, only to see Clary in a similar predicament, her expression of mix of fear and confusion.
“Si…” I choke out, the vines moving slowly over my throat, the vines around Clary mimicking mine, “Help us.”
Simon stands nearby, his bright eyes wide in shock as he watches helplessly. I can see the turmoil in his expression, the desperate desire to come to our aid warring with the fear of making a wrong move in the presence of the Seelie Queen.
But before he can react, the Seelie Queen speaks, her voice echoing through the hall with a cold edge, “Ah, Shadowhunters,” She says, her tone dripping with amusement and too much malice for her child-like voice, “It seems you have come seeking my aid, only to find yourselves ensnared in your own folly.”
I grit my teeth, frustration bubbling up inside me as I struggle against the vines, “What is the meaning of this?” I demand, my voice tinged with anger and desperation as my voice gets cut off by the vines tightening with barely a raise of her pinky finger.
The Seelie Queen tilts her head, a wicked smile playing at the corners of her lips, “You seek my aid,” she says, her voice uncomfortably innocent for what is just happening right now, “But first, you must prove yourselves worthy of it.”
I go to speak again but with a wave of her hand, the vines tighten their grip even more, causing me to choke out a strangled sound of pain, feeling the thorns digging deeper into my flesh, drawing blood as they hold me captive. Each breath is a struggle, the pressure around my chest threatening to cut off my air supply completely so I stop struggling. Alec wouldn’t be too happy if I died before he and Magnus could ‘claim me as their kid’ in Magnus’ words.
Through the haze of pain, I hear Simon’s voice, pleading with the Seelie Queen to stop. His words are desperate, filled with a raw emotion that cuts through the air like a knife. But the Seelie Queen merely watches, her expression unreadable as sh takes in the scene before her.
And then, as if sensing the shift in the air, she turns her gaze toward Simon, her eyes narrowing with interest. "And what of you, Daylighter?" she asks, her voice silky smooth. "Do you wish to save your friends from their plight?”
Simon steps forwards, his jaw clenched with determination, “Please,” he says, his voice trembling with emotions, “Let them go, I’ll do anything you want.”
The Seelie Queen smiles, a cruel twist to her lips as she regards him. "Anything?" she repeats, her tone dripping with malice. And Simon, being the idiot he is nods, repeating her words, his voice steady despite the fear lurking in his gaze as he glances back at us.
Her smile widens even more, malice behind those bright eyes as she watches Simon with a predatory intent, “Very well,” She practically purrs, her voice dripping with satisfaction, “You must kiss the one you desire most, Daylighter.”
My heart sinks like a stone in my chest, a heavy weight pulling me down as if I’ve just plummeted on the steepest drop of a rollercoaster. I can hardly bear to watch as Simon hesitates, his gaze flickering between me and Clary before settling on Clary. It makes me feel a surge of panic that grips me, the fear that he’s going to choose Clary overpowering any rational thought. After all, they share a history that goes far beyond anything I could offer him. They've been through so much together, and deep down, I know they're meant to be.
As Simon splutters in response to the Seelie Queen's demand, I can't help but feel a sense of resignation settle over me. Of course, he's going to pick Clary. It's what's expected of him, what everyone would expect of him.
But then, to my astonishment, Simon takes a hesitant step towards us both, his movements slow and deliberate, like a cautious traveller navigating unfamiliar terrain. My heart flutters erratically in my chest, disbelief washing over me like a crashing wave against the shore. Could it be? Could he really be choosing me?
I watch in stunned silence as Simon takes another deep breath, his chest rising and falling in a rhythm that mirrors the tumultuous emotions swirling inside me despite his lack of need to breathe anymore. His brow furrows slightly, as if he’s wrestling with an inner conflict, but beneath the uncertainty, there’s a flicker of determination in his eyes.
And then, in a move that catches everyone off guard, Simon takes two decisive steps towards me. As he takes those two decisive steps towards me, the air crackles with anticipation, charged with the electricity of the unexpected. My heart races in my chest, a fluttering bird desperate to take flight as I watch him, my breath caught in my throat.
With a tenderness that belies the uncertainty of his movements, Simon’s fingers brush against my cheek, sending a thrill of warmth racing through me. His touch is gentle yet firm, as if seeking solace in the connection. His eyes, pools of liquid amber, search mine with an intensity that steals my already very shallow breath away. It’s as if he's peering into the depths of my soul, seeking reassurance and understanding in the unspoken language of our gaze.
In this suspended moment, the world falls away, leaving only Simon and me in our own private universe. Time slows to a crawl, each heartbeat echoing like the distant tolling of a bell, as we stand on the precipice of something momental. And then, without a word, Simon leans in, closing the gap between us with a hesitant that mirrors my own. His lips, soft and inviting, brush against mine in a tender caress, igniting a wildfire of sensation that courses through every fibre of my being.
His kiss is like a balm to my soul, a revelation that leaves me breathless and wanting more. It's as if every dream I've ever dared to dream is coming true in this one perfect moment, as if the universe itself has conspired to bring us together in this exquisite dance of fate. It’s a symphony of sensations, each touch igniting a wildfire of longing that burns deep within me. Every brush of his lips against mine sends shockwaves of pleasure racing through my veins, leaving me dizzy with desire.
It’s as if time itself has ceased to exist, and we’re caught in a timeless embrace, lost in the swirling currents of passion and devotion. In the moment, there is only Simon and me, bound together by the invisible threads of fate, our souls intertwined in a dance as old as time itself.
My hands ache to reach out to him, to tangle in his hair and pull him closer until there’s no space left between us. And finally, as if hearing the silent plea of my heart, the vines that once ensnared me begin to untangle, releasing me from their grasp.
With a sense of liberation that fills me to the brim, I reach out to Simon, our fingers intertwining in a silent vow of solidarity. His touch is electric, sending shivers of anticipation racing down my spine as he pulls me closer, his hands finding purchase on my hips.
As Simon pulls away, a lingering warmth remains between us, a silent echo of the passion we shared in that fleeting moment. Our fingers remain intertwined, a silent vow of solidarity that speaks volumes in the hushed stillness of the Seelie Court. But, as we catch our breath, a sudden realisation dawns upon us—Clary is nowhere to be seen. Panic grips my heart like a vice, squeezing tight with the weight of guilt as I realise the consequences of our actions.
My gaze darts around the clearing, searching desperately for any sign of Clary's presence, but she's vanished without a trace. The guilt gnaws at me, twisting in my gut like a serpent as I struggle to come to terms with the consequences of our choices.
The Seelie Queen watches us with a knowing smile, her eyes glinting with amusement as she observes the turmoil playing out before her. "It seems your friend has left you," she remarks, her voice like velvet edged with steel. "No matter. You may go.” Her words hang in the air like a verdict, leaving me with a sinking feeling of unease. I exchange a worried glance with Simon, the weight of our actions pressing down upon us like a heavy burden.
As we turn to leave, the Seelie Queen's voice stops us in our tracks. "Remember," she says, her voice a whispered promise carried on the wind. "When the time comes to face against Valentine, I will consider helping you."
Her words offer a glimmer of hope amidst the uncertainty that looms ahead, a beacon of light in the darkness of our uncertain future. And as we step out of the Seelie Court and into the crisp night air, I can't help but wonder what trials await us on the path ahead—and whether we'll emerge victorious, or succumb to the shadows that lurk in the depths of our own hearts.

Night Shift
Tumblr media
Pairing: Jaime Reyes x F!Reader
Summary: Jaime doesn't like that you work a night shift at a bar, so setting out to get a job at Kord Industries, you're shocked when he comes home with something else....
Warnings: mentions of men being pervs, lots of screaming and a little bit of violence, SPOILERS FOR BLUE BEETLE!
Word Count: 2.4k
A/N: My first full fic in a while? Yes, it is indeed and with my new love, Jaime Reyes. If you haven't seen Blue Beetle, pause and go buy a ticket cause this movie is good! So proud of mi Xolito! Anyway, I'm proud of this, so enjoy! 💕💕💕
I don't consent to my work being copied, reposted, or translated.
“You don’t have to do this, y’know? I’ll get the job tomorrow and work hard to support the family and us,” Jaime stood up from your bed, grabbing hold of your hands to stop you from getting ready for work.
“Jaime, I know you want to do everything you can to stop us from losing the house, but we need the money, wherever we can get it from,” you inhaled.
You moved in with the Reyes three years ago after your parents kicked you out. The details are unimportant and messy but you were happy you ended up in a loving household after all. The only problem now, you’re on the brink of becoming homeless.
“But a job where drunk assholes violate you?” he scoffed and you rolled your eyes, knowing most customers haven’t gotten handsy since you started. “It’s not right,” he shook his head, squeezing your hands. “I don’t want you to have to go through that,” he rested his forehead against yours.
You knew he meant well. It sucked having to work at a bar where wearing low-cut tops and push-up bras made for extra tips. Especially when you worked during the night. But then again, even when businesses are going bankrupt, bars are seemingly filling in at an all-time high. You had to take advantage of the dire situation even if Jaime didn’t like it.
“I can handle my own,” you smirked. “Nana taught me a thing or two,” you winked.
“I bet she did,” he chuckled.
“And besides,” you removed your hands from his grip, smoothing them up his arms until they rested on his biceps. “I have my big strong boyfriend to protect me,” you looked at him finding the blush forming on his face adorable.
He wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you in as he leaned forward to kiss you. His lips moved against yours slowly, one of your hands moving up to tug on the hair of the nape of his neck.
Living in a small house with five other people gave you no privacy whatsoever, so moments like these were cherished. All those stolen glances, hidden kisses, late-night talks—it all meant something.
“I gotta go, okay? I’ll see you in the morning,” you pulled away.
“You’re crazy if you think I’m letting you walk to work alone at eleven at night,” he grabbed your arm lightly, pulling you back into his embrace. “I’ll be there to pick you up at seven too,” he said and you sighed out contently.
“It means a lot, but don’t you have your job interview tomorrow?” you rested your head against his chest as you both walked out of your and Milagro’s room.
“I’ll sleep, wake up, pick you up, then come back and get ready,” he shrugged and you agreed with his well-thought-out plan.
“Ya te vas, mija?” Rocio asked once you both entered the kitchen and you nodded. “Cuidate, y come tu comida, no quiero que te desmayes,” she handed you a paper sack and you smiled, thanking her.
It was things like that which made you grateful for Jaime’s family—your family. The constant protection and worry they hold over you like one would for a daughter or sister. Making sure you had a lunch packed so you can eat and not faint during your shift. It warmed your heart and made you grateful every day.
“Make sure she gets there safe, okay, Jaime?” Alberto pointed to his son and your boyfriend nodded, reassuring the two.
Walking out of the house, you found your hands intertwined as you made your way down the block. You glanced at Jaime to find him smiling at you before he looked ahead. You grinned at the fact you caught him before you too continued your focus forward.
Palerma City was alive at night, even in the small barrio you lived in. The streets were dark, flickering lamp posts illuminating the people who were still up trying to make a living by whatever means. You looked far past, the bright neon skyline of the city, all the rows of high rises where all the rich white folk were fast asleep tucked away in silk sheets.
You would get there one day.
“What did my mom pack for your lunch?” he asked, pulling you out of your thought.
“A torta de jamon, an apple and orange, some Fritos, and oh, a gansito,” you gasped in excitement before you stuffed the bag in your backpack. “I know exactly what I’m eating first,” you giggled.
“My mom literally said we ran out of gansitos,” he said in shock. “She loves you more than me,” he feigned hurt and you wrapped your arm around him, cooing as you kissed his cheek.
“What can I say? I’m lovable,” you hummed.
The two of you turned the corner and you found yourself at “Margaritaville”, the newest establishment where you got paid minimum wage and received great tips from businessmen who got off on a pretty bartender flirting with them before they made their way home to their wives. Or from people who recently got laid off from their jobs and needed someone to talk to.
Either way, you’d put on your best smile, bat your lashes and make sure your top was low enough if that meant being able to pay part of the rent.
“Be safe, okay?” Jaime pulled you in for a hug. “I’ll be awake at 6:30,” he promised.
“I will,” you mumbled into his neck before pulling away. “See you soon,” you smiled, pressing a soft kiss to his lips.
He cupped your cheek before you pulled away, your fingers pulling along his, straining to stay in touch as you kept moving toward the door until they unlinked, his arm stayed hovered in the air for a split moment while yours dropped to the side. He watched as you turned back and waved until you entered through the back door, making sure to stay for a minute before he turned back around.
The lingering touch of you remained on his fingers until he arrived home and made his way to bed. It wasn’t fair you had to become a main stream of income for the house. It shouldn’t be you pulling in the long hours, it should be him.
He needed to get that interview at Kord Industries tomorrow.
~
You undid your apron, shoving it back into your backpack. You let out a sigh as you did a once over to the barely empty bar. The next shift already arrived and was taking care of the customers. Letting out a yawn, you placed your tips in your pocket, opening the back door only to be greeted by Jaime who was waiting at the curb.
“Buenos dias, mi amor,” he smiled and you felt your cheeks blush at the pet name he liked to change out every once in a while. “Made you breakfast,” he handed you something rolled in some paper towels before you unveiled two bean burritos. “How was work?” he kissed your cheek while he took your bag from you.
“Made $150 in tips,” you stated, biting into your food. “Getting paid tomorrow, so it went well,” you nodded. “Customers were more to themselves tonight, except for this one guy who was crying about his wife leaving him. I think he left looking for a prostitute to be honest,” you chuckled.
“Poor dude,” he hummed. “But the money is good,” he said, wrapping his arm around you.
The rest of the short walk was made in silence and it was calming to just have Jaime by your side. The eight-hour shift takes it out on you and you couldn’t wait to go to sleep.
“Hola,” you greeted as you walked through the door.
“Como te fue?” Nana asked and you responded to her before a yawn came out.
“Disculpe,” you pressed a hand to your chest. “I’m gonna go shower,” you said, the family understanding as you made your way to your room.
After a quick shower and changing into casual wear, you felt refreshed as you walked back into the family room. The whole family was gathered as Jaime stood in the middle, hair geled back and his fancy clothes put on.
“Wow, que chulo,” you complimented with a bright smile plastered on your face as you stood behind the couch.
“You see, cabezon? You look fine,” Uncle Rudy told his nephew and Jaime nodded in defeat, clearly flustered. “Y/N wouldn’t lie, she loves you too much for that!” he cackled and you joined in, making Jaime blush even more.
“Let’s go and get this over with, I still don’t trust that Jenny girl,” Milagro muttered under her breath and you sent a glance at Jaime.
You were aware of what happened when Milagro and Jaime lost their job with Victoria Kord. Millie was correct to have a distaste for the older lady, but after her niece offered an olive branch, giving Jaime an opportunity–you weren’t sure if she was in the right to have that distrust. But then again, you weren’t there.
“Descansas, okay?” Nana kissed you on the cheek and gave you the blessing before she walked out and you nodded.
The rest of the family walked out, leaving you and Jaime left.
“Good luck, okay?” you grabbed his face and gave him a chaste good luck kiss. “I know you’re gonna woo them over,” you sent him a sure smile.
“How are you so sure about that?” he held your wrists, running his thumbs over your delicate skin.
“Cause, you’re Jaime Reyes”.
~
“You don’t know what’s inside?” you heard Millie ask.
You were awakened by muffled conversations, your brows furrowing as you checked the time. They couldn’t have come back that soon and if something serious happened, they would’ve woken you up.
About to drift back to sleep, you eyes shot open by shouting. The voices of Jaime, Millie, and Rudy combine together. Bolting out of bed fast, you opened the door and ran into the dining room, finding Millie and Rudy to be playing hot potato with a blue bug, Jaime trying to get them to stop.
“Mira, look what you did! You woke her up,” Rocio gestured to you and the room suddenly got quiet.
“Ay, Y/N, I’m sorry,” Jaime winced, trying to grab the thing from Millie but she held it out of his reach.
“Look what Jaime brought back. That Jenny girl is a total floozy, like what is this that she gave him?” she cocked a brow, holding it clearly so you could see.
“A bug?” you rubbed your eyes. “Why would she give you a bug?” you asked, walking closer.
“She told me to guard it with my life, I wasn’t even supposed to open it,” your boyfriend explained and his words made you uneasy.
“I think you should put it back, you don’t know what it can be,” you turned to Millie.
“She’s right,” Jaime held out his hand and Milagro reluctantly agreed, placing it in his palm.
You watched as he was about to place it back in the box until it lit up, his face inching closer to inspect it. You stared back in amazement, the bug coming to life.
“I think it likes me,” he grinned, glancing up at you with a twinkle in your eyes that made your heart skip a beat. But that smile was instantly wiped away the moment the bug launched itself onto his face.
“JAIME!” you screeched, the family shooting up from their seats as they tried to aid him.
“It’s on your face!” Uncle Rudy screamed before he grabbed onto the bug, attempting to rip it off but it shot out a bolt of electricity, sending him across the room and Jaime against the wall.
Your body began to shake and you wanted to run over to help Jaime but he got up, the bug detaching from his face until it crawled over his shoulder and under his shirt like a spider you wanted off immediately.
“Jaime!” you shouted, his body thrashing around the room like he was fighting with the bug. “Baby, please,” you cried, hands over your mouth as you tried to begin to process what was going on but you couldn’t.
“Oh god,” Jaime stilled, hunched over as he looked at you. “I think it’s inside of me,” his gaze filled with panic and you felt your skin crawl. “It’s inside of me!” he screamed, hand reaching out for yours before he doubled over in pain, the bug poking out underneath his clothes before arms pierced through, sending him up against the ceiling.
Another wave of screams sounded, the love of your life’s agony cries being the worst thing you ever heard. The tears were falling down your cheeks. You wanted to help him but couldn’t. You wanted to know what was going on but didn’t. You were completely helpless in this situation.
Black goo grew over his body, his clothes burning to crisps and you were afraid of what it was going to do once it got all of him. Were you about to lose your Jaime? How did you get to this point when it was just a job interview?
“Y/N!” his call for you made your heart stop and you tried telling him you were here but his cries drowned it out.
Suddenly, he was completely transformed, a suit of armor in black and blue engulfed him. The cries and the screams quieted down as you all stared at him. A split second ago, you thought he was going to die, but now he was fine? It didn’t make sense.
“Mijo?” Rocio called out as Jaime walked over to the photo of La Virgen, his illuminating yellow eyes staring back into the reflection.
“What was that?” he looked back in shock, hands over his mouth. “Did you hear that?” his voice was panicked, his expression hidden with the eyes providing just the tiniest amount of concern.
“Jaime, what’s going on?” you took a step forward.
“That voice, you don’t hear a voice?” he walked forward, standing in the middle of the room, surrounded by all of you. The suit seemed to have turned on, blue light glowing between grooves and you all watched in awe. “Systems check?” he mumbled, looking around the room.
“Jaime?” you asked, noticing the arms powering up.
“It’s okay, everything is going to be okay!” he shouted just as he was flown through the ceiling before he became a dot in the sky.
Nothing was okay.

Alberto:
Since he never really had physical touch when he was little, he’s a touchy person when he’s a teenager.
Seriously he won’t take 5 min without his hands on you.
So when you both are in the “hideout” together he’s snuggled up on your side with a pillow, reading one of the letters Luca sent him. But you had a long day selling fish for Massimo, and you were tired. But the thing was the softest thing you thought of was Alberto was the softest thing. Well there were pillows and blankets, but your boyfriend was more comfortable.
When you sit on his lap and rest your head on his chest, he’s swelling up with pride. He feels good. You never did this before to him. It makes him feel like to wrap his arms around you and protect you at any cost.
Sighing, he shook his head and smiled. “Goodnight…mi amore.” Alberto said, grabbing a blanket and covering both of you, while hugging your frame. “See you in the morning.”
Feeling something scaly and wrapped around your waist, you open your eyes to see sea monster Alberto. With his tail and arms wrapped around you. It must have rained, but it was still sprinkling a little. Feeling wet clothes stuck to you, your fingers and toes felt like icicles. Alberto was still asleep. Still wrapped around you, mouth slightly ajar snoring.
“Alberto, wake up! It rained.” You caress his cheek with the back of your smooth hand. Alberto’s green electric eyes fluttered open seeing that it was morning, and it had rained. You were trying to unwrap yourself from him even if he wouldn’t let you.
Still half asleep Alberto holds your closer snuggling in your damp hair. Dozing off again enjoying the warmth that remained of his human s/o. I guess you're stuck like this for a while.
Tumblr media
Luca:
This boy is a touchy guy once you get to know him. I mean like cuddly.
So you both would be in his and Gulia's room that they share, … doing homework. Sitting on his bed. Luca looked over to you and was confused about a question on the paper, which meant you had to move to see.  You on the edge of the bed grab the paper and decide you don't want to move back and forth anymore so you just sit on his lap and tuck your head under his chin and lay your cheek on his chest.
It wasn’t the first time you did this, well nothing like this!  Sometimes you would lay your head on his lap, or his shoulder, but this is a new level.
He was flustered, he never felt like this before. He felt like wrapping his arms around you and to protect you. (Like Alberto must be a sea monster thing for mates.)
Wrapping his arms around you, you both laid there finishing homework enjoying each other's presence. Eventually falling asleep you both laid there in the dark with moonlight shining on both of you making the room glow, making it more romantic.
Waking up with sunshine shining in your eye’s you rub them. Feeling arms wrapped around your body and your legs intertwined with Luca’s, you realized what happened last night. Sighing you grabbed the cold deserted blanket off the hardwood floor. Luca followed your movement while still asleep stuck to you.
Pulling the blanket over you guys you wondered where the homework went. Looking at the floor you saw the two white papers with black ink words on it. You smiled. You smiled at the fact Luca was now hugging you close and touching your ear with his nose, making every single breath he took tickle you. But, you also smiled at the fact that he was your boyfriend. And you love your boyfriend..

a literary syllabus [x]
Tumblr media
how to read now by elaine castillo
a collection of essays by novelist and essayist elaine castillo about the politics and ethics of reading. castillo exposes the inherently colonial premises behind not only the works of many individual writers; but the way reading cultures analyze and canonize works, the tokenizing nature of the publishing industry that fails writers and readers of color, and the unfulfilled promises by bibliophiles and literary institutions to "build empathy" through reading diverse books.
"time in the codex" and "lastingness" by lisa robertson
two essays by poet lisa robertson from her prose collection nilling, both meditations on reading. “time in the codex” is an ode to the sensory and cognitive processes that reading evokes. “lastingness” explores the relationship between passivity and will when it comes to receiving the stories and ideas we read, using the work of hannah arendt to analyze texts by lucretius and pauline réage.
a history of reading by alberto manguel
alberto manguel (former director of argentina's national library) compiles a history of reading that encompasses the prehistory of books in ancient mesopotamia, the story of the library of alexandria and its influence in libraries that followed, literary societies such as the heian court, book thieves throughout time, book banning in multiple cultures, and the progression of text formats around the world from clay tablets to modern bookbinding.
selections from not to read by alejandro zambra (trans. megan mcdowell)
essays taken from the collection not to read by chilean writer alejandro zambra about the practice of reading, his own evolving reading life, and writing books; mixed with a variety of literary criticism. selections include "in praise of the photocopy," "against poets," "obligatory readings," "traveling with books," and "novels-- forget it."
"how do we read?", "the reading ape", and "inventing reading" by stanislas dahaene
three chapters from cognitive neuroscientist stainslas dahaene's book reading in the brain. "how do we read?" functionally breaks down how our brain understands written words. "the reading ape" imagines how our ability to read evolved by recycling preexisting neural circuits. "inventing reading" explores how languages themselves have formed over time to serve the way we think.
"when robots read books" by inderjeet mani
essay by computational linguist inderjeet mani on ways that artificial intelligence could enhance literary criticism by analyzing classic texts, particularly cumulative corpuses of works. examples of literary AI usage include finding similar character traits, archetypes, and tropes between different books and authors; quantitatively tracking literary trends; and generating timelines and maps of information pulled from narratives.
"uncritical reading" by michael warner
essay by english professor michael warner which attempts to define what "critical reading" actually is, the beginnings of a history of that practice, its alignment with agency and morality in academic culture, and what the qualities of "uncritical reading" (such as “identification, self-forgetfulness, reverie, sentimentality, enthusiasm, literalism, aversion, distraction") might offer us.
"someone reading a book is a sign of order in the world" by mary ruefle
essay adapted from a lecture in poet mary ruefle’s madness, rack, and honey that traces a reader's development through personal experiences in her own reading life. topics include rereading, what it means to read “the right book at the right time”, and the pleasure of finding imaginative connections between books.
