So it seems like they’ve sold FITF bundles in the US accidentally on pre-order. (This seems to be the cause of the issue based on who is being asked to pay and who isn’t.)

Under the US billboard chart rules, album sales from bundles of either music or music and merch which are discounted are prevented from counting towards official chart sales. Fans are being asked to either pay the difference or cancel the order.

This doesn’t apply to the UK/Europe where the chart company allows bundle sales.

happy 2024! yearly ramble under the cut

this year I don't have many goals art-wise. I want to keep experimenting, do some more art for my friends, draw my OCs a bit more often, and maybe get a couple animations out of my head. I'll also open commissions when I'm feeling up to it. when my partner completes his degree, we'll continue work on our group project too :) Dream's End Come True has been out for almost two years now, and the love for it has not stopped, which is kind of incredible in terms of internet ephemerality. as of now it has over 100 pieces of fanart, and has been translated into five languages. thanks for reading!

2023 was a charcuterie board of about half the possible things I could have imagined happening in my early 20's, both positive and negative in equal and chaotic degree; but most importantly I met people I could not possibly imagine living without (love you all). I am not doing well, but by God I'm trying my best, and I hope the new year treats us all kindly.

I don’t get it tho. They’re so quick with this portrait copyright but couldn’t stock his album? Couldn’t ship it in time? Couldn’t ship SD cds? And SD deleted sales? And what about Taehyung’s copyright for Borahae? And what about Taehyung getting stalked?

And what about Jimin’s dad displaying not one, but two members stuff in his cafè? Hybe threatening to sue Compose coffee for albums display (that are not for sale) when Jimin dad got albums displayed too? I’m very confused, but also I’m really not because we’re talking about Taehyung and ofc they’re gonna do everything they can to minimize his impact.

Well you got to wonder about what’s going on. The preorder with Walls was messed up as well and resulted in loads of preorders being invalid for charting. Once could be an honest mistake, twice is a head scratcher. Plus the bundle rules that billboard changed were a few years ago. So everyone in the industry knows about it. These people aren’t newbies.

Sorry anon while I do often wonder what’s going on I can’t say it’s because I think there’s an evil insider working against Louis to sabotage his album sales.

And listen this shit doesn’t just happen to Louis. Acting like it does just shows little to no understanding of how the world actually works outside of fandom. DJ Khaled had a major issue that was very well publicised, I’m sure there are many others you could dig up.

If I remember right, the merch bundle stuff specifically was introduced around the same time as walls was released so I think some confusion then is pretty understandable.

I’m also pretty certain at least some of these are different distribution companies and I’m not certain who is responsible for the actual website bits of this but it seems likely it is TM stores.

Louis was previously using BSI Merch in the UK but is now using TM Stores to sell and distribute merch, albums etc from his website in both the UK and US and that changed just after FITF was announced. TM (Townsend Music) is a UK based company. He wasn’t with BMG at that point either because I’m sure that was going to be next.

So my question to you is, who do you think is operating this massive vendetta against Louis? And how on earth is that more likely than this being an error that may or may not have occurred as a result of these arrangements having changed?
