You hated this.

The room which was usually your sanctuary, where you could wind down after a long day, had become your own personal jail cell that you wanted nothing more than to just escape. You could theoretically; no one had forbidden you from leaving but just hours before, (maybe it was less than that, you felt way too delirious to think straight so you’re perception of time was completely broken) the one and only So Mun swaddled you in blankets like a baby so you couldn’t even move if you wanted to - if your room was a prison, then these blankets were a straight jacket.

“So you can sweat it out.” You remember him saying before leaving for the nearest convenience store to get you some supplies. So now here you were incapacitated, feverish yet shivering and limbs feeling like they were made of stone.

You blamed So Mun for this.

Looking back, there was no real reason to (especially how he was the one taking care of you) but him leaving you in that state was enough for you to want to plot your revenge. Was this some kind of sick, twisted joke to him? Did Mun think you didn’t love him enough so he left you to die?

After what seemed like an eternity, your door finally slammed open to reveal Mun who was carrying a plastic bag on his wrist.

“Took you long enough.” you rasped out, shooting him a glare as he approached you. He laughed at your quip while placing his palm on your forehead to check your temperature. Instinctively you leaned into his touch, cooling your hot skin.

“How are you feeling?”

“Oh I’m just peachy” you exclaimed sarcastically as you sat up, though that proved a bad decision as you were hit with a wave of nausea as soon as you lifted your head off your pillow. Mun was quick to support you by putting his hand on your back.

“Here, have these.” he said, offering some pills and a bottle of water. Taking the medicine from him, you gulped it down quickly (you didn’t realise how thirsty you were until you’d already chugged more than half the bottle) then flopped back down with a sigh.

“I hate this.” You vocalised to Mun. “I wanna move and eat without feeling like I’m gonna throw up everywhere.”

“You will be able to once you get better. But that can’t happen unless you stay still and rest.” Mun nagged which made you groan frustratedly.

“I’m so over it though!” You complained. “I feel useless just laying here while you do everything for me. Like- you’re my boyfriend, not my mother!”

At that, Mun laughed while squatting down next to your bed so his face is eye level to yours. He tangled his hand in your hair, playing with it gently.

“Have you considered that maybe I like doing this for you?” You gave him an unimpressed stare.

“It’s true! Is it that hard to believe I want to take care of you?”

“But don’t I annoy you when you have to do all these things for me?”

Mun shook his head, smiling at you brightly. “You’ll never be annoying to me. And it feels nice to have you rely on me for once.”

“I still feel bad though…” you mumbled into your covers. He pried away the blankets from your grip, uncovering your face to peck your cheek quickly. You made a confused, unintelligible noise and looked at Mun, who was smirking slightly.

“You can just pay me back when you're recovered.” He suggested it in a way that made you roll your eyes. And here you thought he was doing this out of the kindness of his own heart.

“What if we have a picnic in the park? Then we can eat after we have a walk, like what you wanted.” He continued to muse. You groaned and turned on your side so your back faced him. You thought he was stupid. Stupid So Mun who never had a selfish thought in his brain.

“But you’re still just doing whatever I want!” You whined, cheeks getting hotter than they already were. You couldn’t see him but you already knew Mun was probably laughing at you - he always seemed to find joy in your suffering.

“What I want is to see you have fun and be happy.” Mun explained as he grabbed your shoulder and rolled you onto your back to face him. “And you’ll be happy if you do the things you want to. It's a win-win situation!”

“You’re so cheesy.”

You scrunched your face into an irritated look at his words, baffled at his perfect answer. He just smoothed out the creases between your eyebrows with his thumb but you swat him away.

“We can discuss the details later, just focus on getting better. Are you hungry?”

You shook your head definitely but your stomach gurgles violently, defying you. Mun laughs at you before getting up (presumably to get you food).

Before he could leave, you grabbed his hand stopping him in his tracks. You sat up, ignoring the way your muscles ached in the process.

“Let me come with; I’m sick of being in this room.” Your legs wobbled as you tried to stand, weak after not being in much use, but Mun acted fast and swept you off your feet, taking you by surprised

“Didn’t I say I’d do everything for you?” He teased you as he carried you in his arms to the kitchen.

Salat Al Fajr ~ ABOUT ‘BIRR’ (RIGHTEOUSNESS)

It was narrated from Umm Salamah that when the Prophet ﷺ performed the Subh (morning prayer), while he said the Salam, he would say:

‘Allahumma inni as’aluka ‘ilman nafi’an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa ‘amalan mutaqabbalan (O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision and acceptable deeds).’”

To get the benefits asked in dua’s, we are required to be righteous. Allah Azawa Jal guarantees us:~

“Whoever works righteousness — whether male or female — while he (or she) is a true believer verily, to him We will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and We shall pay them certainly a reward in proportion to the best of what they used to do (i.e. Paradise in the Hereafter).” (Quran 16:97)

The Arabic word for righteousness is ‘birr’ and it has various levels of meaning. It has been translated as righteousness, piety, virtue and charity. Birr also encompasses the inner satisfaction, pleasure and happiness a person feels when he does the right thing, when everything feels correct and at peace with itself and the surroundings. Thus, in an Islamic sense, when a person does the right thing, obeys God and worships Him correctly, he feels satisfied, secure and happy.

Birr is righteousness; it is acting in a way that invokes this inner peace. It is a firm set of beliefs and actions that will keep your life balanced and safe. Birr encompasses all 5 pillars of Islam and all that is fardh upon us. To earn this title with Allah Subhana Ta’ala the mu’min have to prove themselves capable of turning faith and righteousness into a practical way of life.

Alguna vez México fue más grande que Estados Unidos en territorio, eso nos cuentan los libros de historia y los documentos históricos que ilustran la antigua división geopolítica de las naciones de Norte América. Sabemos que en aquella época no se trataba del territorio mexicano, sino del territorio del Reino de la Nueva España.

Años antes del inicio de la Guerra de Independencia en México, el país tenía una extensión territorial de 4 925 283 km² y se componía de 24 provincias y la capital del imperio. Tan sólo para darnos una idea, actualmente el territorio nacional es de 1 964 375 km².

Sorprendente que alguna vez el territorio fuera casi tres veces más grande de lo que actualmente conocemos, y esto se debe a que no sólo parte occidente de Estados Unidos, sino también toda la región de Centroamérica pertenecía al antiguo imperio de la Nueva España, posterior a la Independencia, al Imperio Mexicano

Para resumir datos históricos, los acontecimientos que hicieron perder gran parte del territorio nacional fueron:

La separación de las cinco provincias integrantes de la Capitanía General de Guatemala (Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua y Costa Rica) al finalizar el Imperio en 1823.

La independencia de Texas en 1836. Y la pérdida de más de la mitad de territorio nacional, luego de la invasión de Estados Unidos (los actuales estados de California, Arizona, Nuevo México, Nevada y Utah, y porciones de Colorado, Oklahoma, Kansas y Wyoming) en 1848.

It's my pleasure to be hosting a stop on the book tour for THE HERO INTERVIEWS by ANDI EWINGTON today with ESCAPIST TOURS!!! This is a fantasy comedy following Elburn Barr, a Loremaster who once dreamed of being an adventurer, following in the footsteps of his parents and chasing down his missing brother who had left to become a Hero, as he sets off on a quest of his own to interview and chronicle heroes, villains, and everyone in between - everyone who contributes to the adventuring scene. Read below to find out more and check out my review for this book!

This (mis?)adventure is riotously funny, fully fantastical, with a writing style that keeps you turning pages and chuckling and a whole assortment of interesting characters being interviewed, with some endearing recurring ones like a talking dead-adventurer skull and a skinny unassuming-looking 'Barbarian' whom you wouldn't think could do much smiting and smashing but manages to make a name for himself, as well as many references harkening back to all the ones we've already met and encountered and foreshadowing future encounters, threading them all together. I had such a fun time reading this!

While at first glance you may think the interviews are disparate, there's an underlying, some-may-say sinister, plot/conspiracy that Elburn stumbles into and slowly (unintentionally) uncovers throughout the interviews that we get to piece together.

It's written, of course, in the style of an interview, peppered with (short) footnotes that add to the humor as Elburn gives his observations and shares his private thoughts and opinions, giving us an insight into his character - personality, family, motivations - as well as contributing to the worldbuilding - little tidbits of factoids - that don't distract from the story but serve to enhance it )and, for the discerning reader, injects funny satirical references to our modern world and pop culture... like Blue Ticks....) I, for one, really enjoyed these footnotes!

The ending was a nice and heartwarming surprise, and was laid out quite well with scattered clues. This book may contain subtle political commentary that, while maaaybe bleak, we eventually learn that what makes one a Hero isn't just going off on countless quests and adventures and exploring dungeons and vanquishing evildoers (or clearing out rat-infested cellars!) and washing it all down with a pint of ale in a tavern, that it's not just conquests and exploits and chasing fame and fortune, as is oft portrayed in adventure stories/media. A true hero lies in the everyday.

And of course, I'd be so excited for the next book, to see where Devlin Stormwind's Elburn's adventures take him next!!!

Tips Menumbuhkan Minat Baca

1. Konsentrasi saat membaca

Cara pertama dan terpenting adalah membaca dengan konsentrasi dan memahami apa yang sedang di baca.

Syaikhul islam ibnu Taimiyah ra. berkata,

"Orang yang melihat segala sesuatu tanpa hati, dan mendengar kata-kata ulama tidak dengan hati, maka ia tidak akan mengerti apa-apa, sebab pusat segala perkara berada di hati."

"Maka tidak pernahkah mereka berjalan di bumi, sehingga hati (akal) mereka dapat memahami,..." (Qs. Al-Hajj : 46)

2. Pengamalan terhadap apa yang di baca

Ilmu (syari) yang telah dipelajari adalah untuk diamalkan, bukan sekedar untuk dihafalkan. Para ulama menasehati, bahwa menghafal ilmu dengan mengamalkannya.

Hendaklah seorang penuntut ilmu mencurahkan perhatiannya untuk menghafalkan ilmu (syari) dengan mengamalkan dan ittiba.

Menuntut ilmu syari bukanlah tujuan akhir, tetapi sebagai pengantar kepada tujuan yang agung, yaitu :

Adanya rasa takut kepada Allah

Merasa diawasi olehNya

Bertakwa kepadaNya

Mengamalkan tuntunan dari ilmu tersebut

Rasulullah Saw. bersabda,

" Perumpamaan orang alim yang mengajarkan kebaikan kepada manusia, kemudian dia melupakan dirinya (tidak mengamalkan ilmunya) adalah seperti lampu (lilin) yang menerangi manusia, namun membakar dirinya sendiri."

(HR. Ath-Thabrani)

3. Membaca secara bertahap

Seorang muslim harus membaca segala bacaan yang disukai dan bermanfaat baginya secara bertahap. Sehingga hatinya terpaut dan berniat untuk senantiasa membaca dan menuntut ilmu.

4. Memilih waktu yang tepat

Imam ibnu Jama'ah ra menuturkan,

" Waktu yang paling baik untuk menghafal adalah waktu sahur ; untuk membahas di pagi hari ; untuk menulis di siang hari ; dan untuk mutholaah dan berdiskusi (mudzakarah) di malam hari."

5. Menciptakan variasi bahan bacaan

Yang demikian agar tidak monoton dalam membaca, tidak bosan, dan tidak malas.

6. Berdoa

Hendaknya setiap penuntut ilmu senantiasa berdoa kepada Allah, memohon ilmu yang bermanfaat kepada Allah, memohon pertolongan Allah dalam mencari ilmu, serta selalu merasa butuh kepadaNya.

اللَّهُمَّ إنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْماً نَافِعاً، وَرِزْقاً طَيِّباً، وَعَمَلاً مُتَقَبَّلاً

"Ya Allah Sesungguhnya aku memohon kepada-Mu yang bermanfaat, rezeki yang baik dan amalan yang diterima"

"Ya Allah berikanlah manfaat kepadaku dengan apa-apa yang Engkau ajarkan kepadaku, dan ajarkanlah apa yang bermanfaat kepadaku, dan tambahkan ilmu padaku."

Ostatnio mam trochę gorsze dni i wychodzę sporo poza limity. Jednak od jutra biorę się w garść. Mam też nowa fajną dietę która będę stosować od poniedziałku i mam nadzieję że tym razem nie zjebie. Niewiem jakim cudem ale też jak dzisiaj rano się zważyłam to ważyłam o 0,5kg mniej niż wczoraj.

Jestem dość durną osobą. Chcę mieć piękne, gęste włosy, jakie miałam kiedyś, a nic w tym kierunku nie robię. Ale teraz, gdy przyjdą mi pieniądze, to kupię jakiś olejek.

Jutro jadę się spotkać z D. Ma niby dla mnie jakiś prezent, to będą chyba słodycze, więc będę miała wyzwanie. Spotykamy się ok. 15 i pójdziemy do wietnamskiej, więc zamierzam się przegłodzić i zjem rano tylko banana, żeby się rozkoszować kurczakiem.

Na zajęciach zdalnych przysnęło mi się, kiedy pan rozdawał zaliczenia, na szczęście koleżanka powiedziała za mnie.

Kolejny wspólnie spędzony dzień. Cały czas ze sobą piszemy, w nocy do piątej gadaliśmy. Dawno nie czułam się tak dobrze z drugą osobą. Jego głos bardzo na mnie działą, jest tak niski i potężny. Już się nie mogę doczekać spotkania.

Dziś drugi dzień bez słodyczy.

dziś się zwazylam i po tygodniu schudłam już 3 kg. będę to robić co tydzień w czwartki by zobaczyć różnicę. codziennie postaram się wrzucić bilanse.

normalnie spałam ok. 500-600kcal dziennie, ale dzisiaj miałam dzień nie treningowy i to dla tego.
