Note: Ok so I write on my phone because I’m not allowed my laptop except for school so ignore typos, English isn’t my first language and I havent read the books so yeah it’s a tragedy and I am the cringest person alive
It had been weeks since Alina arrived at the little palace. The infamous sun summoner. Everyone was in awe to her powers, some more than others. The general. It was impossible to even believe that a living sun summoner was present right there, someone who was just a myth. Someone who was just thought of in day dreams of a better future. Y/n herself had a great amount of admiration for Alina. She was the one who warmed her up to the little palace, new surroundings, new people. Alina wasn’t just the sun summoner to her but they had become great friends in less than no time.
The general’s feelings towards Alina seemed obscure. Well to y/n it did. They were couple, him and y/n. They had been one for two years ever since y/n came to the little place after running away from home. Y/n found her home in alecksandar. He was the closest thing she ever felt to comfort or someone she could rely on. Y/n fell first and Alecksandar fell harder. He too felt different around y/n. After all those years of being the general he felt the Alecksandar inside of him when he was around her. Not a day would go by he wouldn’t think of her as people think of the moon. He simply just adored her that much. So did y/n. They would playfully argue on that quite a lot.
But recently things had changed, he would come late to their shared chambers at night and leave early before y/n woke up. They wouldn’t even get time to spend together or talk moreover he wouldn’t make time to spend with her. Y/n didnt mind that, for a few times at least. She has always been understanding of him that’s one of the things he loved about her. But that didn’t mean she didn’t have doubts herself. For the first few weeks y/n found Alina’s company truly joyful. They had some great laughs together she got to know about Alina’s life, where she grew up, how she grew up, her friend Mal she had a lot of stories about. Y/n told her she wished that one day Alina would tell mal stories about her and y/n.
But it was all the calm before the chaos. Soon Alecksandar started accompanying Alina. He told y/n not to tag along with them when he was with Alina which she found really strange but trusted Alecksandar and not for once her mind even had any different thoughts. Which was until these things became a routine. Alecksandar would take Alina riding, spend nights with her chatting, take her to their spot. He barely even acknowledged y/n’s existence. When they were alone for once which wasn’t even what alecksandar planned y/n knew his schedule and barged into the war room during evening to talk to him about how she felt.
“Are you for real y/n? How can you possibly imply that?” He replied to her with an annoyed huff when y/n brought it up.
“I’m not implying anything Alecksandar I’m just simply saying if you were to spend some time with me or at least let me in on what you’re on about with Alina.” Y/n said with a calm tone.
“Oh my extreme apologies—if you can’t already tell I’ve been busy y/n. I’ve a sun summoner on my hands-don’t you think it would rather help if you ought to be supportive?” Alecksandar said with a flat voice and an unironic apology. Y/n felt un heard but she didn’t mean to take the matter further clearly he wasn’t in the mood to listen. This happened several times all of the times he brushed it off sometimes making it clear he’s annoyed with it. Each time y/n would tell herself she still trusts him, he’s the general, he’s busy. But she wasn’t sure how much longer she could keep lying to herself or how she actually felt and trying telling that to Alecksandar would only make it worse each time.
There wasn’t much she could take as every moment felt like being stabbed constantly and having to act it didn’t affect her. See him laughing with Alina, empty bedside every night, lonely dinners it’s too much until someone reaches their point. Y/n had reached hers. Alecksandar didn’t seem to care she was present or not. Y/n couldn’t bare that everyday she wanted to leave. Get away. As fas as she can-away from Os altas, little palace, him. All she ever wanted was to be accepted she was a joyful soul who never loathed anything-she used to live and love in superlatives despite spending most of her life feeling like a burden because she was a grisha, her family never approved of her, the small town she grew up in saw her has a disease who could make the other kids like her she was banned from going to school with the others. Her family too saw her as a disappointment for something that wasn’t even under her own control. She taught herself to read and write. Left home at a young age and never looked back. With extreme hustles she got to the little palace and never once felt alone. Training with everyone like herself, not looked down to when she walked in the halls and of course alecksandar. Well up until now. Her spirit was crushed, she was the young y/n back home who was neglected constantly until it reached to an extent to make her run away. Leave. That’s what she felt like doing again. She didn’t mean be loud about it or too sneaky either. She decided to write a note to Alecksandar...like she did the night she ran from her home.
With tear filled in her eyes she wrote...
Alecksandar, you’ve been the light of my
life ever since I left home. Every happy
memory I’ve had and want to hold onto is
the ones I have with you. But I can’t go
back to living a life of being cold
shouldered again. Hope Alina brings you
the happiness I never could.
—wishing you all the fortune
in the wars to come. Y/n.
She folded that note and placed it on the bed. With one last glance back their room she walked away, from their room, the palace but most importantly him.
It took a whole day for alecksandar to realise y/n’s absence. She wasn’t seen at the corridors the whole day nobody spoke about her to him either. Finally in the evening he went to the chambers to find nothing but a not on the bed. Strange. He thought. He read her note. Again and again trying to make sense of the words as he was utterly shocked to believe what he read was true. Was she really gone? Did she just leave like that, leave him? He sat on the edge of the bed trying to maintain his balance as he let that sink in. After a while he was rather annoyed and furious than glum. How could she leave over something that small?
After a week of searching and tracking Ivan found where y/n had been. The whole time alecksandar was worried as well as pissed over the face that y/n bolted away from little palace.
“Miss y/n was found in kribrisk.” Ivan told him in late evening.
“Kribrisk? What’s she doing that far away?”
He asked confused.
“We don’t know sir.”
“Alright then-we ride of kribrisk forthwith.” He said getting up as Ivan left to prepare a wagon for their ride.
The whole ride Alecksandar’s kept thinking about what he’d say, what he’d ask. In his silent self consideration he didn’t realise when they reached.
“Miss y/n is to be two storeys up.” Ivan said stepping out right beside him pointing to the floors of a building at the edge of a bustling alley, which is now silent given it is almost midnight.
“You stay here.” Alecksandar ordered as he walked into the building, climbing the damp flight of stairs to y/n’s floor.
Reaching outside of her he took a deep breath and gave two gentle knocks on the door.
Y/n was still awake. Wide awake in fact. She was alarmed hearing a knock on the door at this hour of the night. She wasn’t sure who could it be? Wether to open or not? Before she could decide that there was another knock. She stood up fixing her night gown and swiftly grabbed a knife out of the apple placed on the table. She held the knife cautiously pointed towards the door before opening it.
Y/n was shocked seeing alecksandar after opening the door she forgot to put down the knife that still pointed to him.
“Alecksandar?” She asked with a confused expression still with the knife in the air pointed to him.
He placed the tip of his finger on the knife softly moving it below, with a slight huff to her attempt of tackling someone with a knife. “Y/n.” He greeted with an awkward nod stepping inside while y/n was still in disbelief why he’d visited. She turned back to put the knife back on the table mostly to not face him.
“A kitchen knife? Really-“ alecksandar chuckled slightly “You do realise that you can light whoever might’ve been behind that door on fire if you wanted to right?” He continued jokingly.
Y/n didn’t seem to appreciate that joke. Neither his presence. “I was sleeping-“
“You don’t look like you were.” He interrupted her in a light voice as though nothing happened between them.
“What do you want? Why are you here?” Y/n said with an irritated expression wanting to get him to leave soon enough.
“I’m wounded.” Alecksandar replied still not in a serious manner.
“Have you come to gloat in the dead of the night?” She responded unafraid of provoking him.
“I’ve come to take you back y/n.” He spoke glancing around the place she had been living in. Y/n’s books all over the place, messy bed with the sheets showing he must’ve been twisting and turning while sleeping, her unfolded clothes forming a pile on the edge of the room, unfinished sketches spread across the table. Back at little palace their shared chambers were just like that when she was with him. Things weren’t the same without her he missed that, her. The room felt three times empty without her.
“I’m not coming back-I don’t want to.” This time y/n was unsure about his reaction, she turned her back on him pretending to go through a random book placed in front of her just to avoid him.
“What do you mean you’re not coming back?” he paused taking a deep sigh causing y/n to be more afraid not to face him. “What are you going to do here?”
“Whatever does it matter.” she responded in a calm tone.
He tried his best not to raise his voice “Do not face away from me-look at me and reply and yes it does matter to me.”
She turned back facing him “Why? Because I’m one of the general’s grishas?”
“It’s more than that-you know it’s more than that.” He said putting emphasis on you.
“Not anymore it’s not, didn’t you read the note I left you?” her heart ached saying those words as she tried her best not to make her voice sound protesting or weak either.
“All—all this because I didn't have the time to entertain your insecurities.” He chuckled dryly running his fingers through his hair out of annoyance.
“Entrain my insecurities?” Y/n paused “Name the last time we had dinner together-no—name the last time we had a conversation that didn’t involve war strategies or Alina.”
“All of the times you’ve had even the slightest doubt about me and Alina because I’ve been busy I reassured you! But you-you are the one who left without saying anything.”
“I was the one who left? Me alecksandar? Every time I came to you talk you just swayed me away into believing that was I was a jealous-obsessive fool—But no-I was the only one trying in our relationship until you made me reach to an extent where I gave up the hopes of finding back the Alecksandar lost inside of the general.” She tried holding back tears as her voice got high pitched.
“If you could just once-stop acting ridiculously and think with your head!” He said furiously slamming his hands on the edge of the table.
Y/n flinched at the sudden loudness in his voice and a thud, making it vulnerable for her to keep arguing without bursting into tears. “D-do not raise your voice at me.” She said softly looking into nothingness on the floor not meeting his eyes.
Sighing heavily he began “Now if you’re done with this charade-can we leave for os alta?”
“I told you I’m not coming back. I won’t.” She wanted to sound firm though her sentence came out like a whisper not so unafraid of his reaction now.
“Y/n—“ he began with a rough tone before she interrupted her.
“No-I can’t—go back to watching you laugh with her each day, garden walks, rides with her, taking her to our spot—whats it going to stop at? I can’t bring myself back into that misery that I ran away from years ago.”
Alecksandar fell silent. He didn’t want to meet her gaze. He gulped in at another silent moment still unable to bring himself to respond to her.
“What?” Y/n asked confused given his reaction 2 minutes ago he’s strangely quite now.
“While you were gone-w-we kissed.” His voice came out strained. Y/n stood in disbelief blinking at him unsure what to feel. She had already let go off him was she supposed to feel sad? Was she supposed to feel angry that they had kissed while she wasn’t even gone a fortnight. “She kissed me, I pulled away—it wasn’t her fault truly-“
he continued in a calm voice though every atom in his body didnt want him to let y/n know of that but his consciousness got the best of him.
“Of course it isn’t her fault!” She cut him off not holding back tears, she didn’t even have control over them anymore. “Sh-shes just as naive as I am!” Y/n said in between sobs softening his look towards her.
“Y/n-“ he began taking a step towards her. “It’s di—“
Y/n took a step backwards shaking her head as tears rushed down her eyes. “Don’t”
“It doesn’t have to be like this.” He said softly as a single drop of tear started forming into his eye.
“Well it is.”
“I realised what I’d lost when I was with her.” he cupped her cheeks trying to get her to look into at him. “I pulled away-I didn’t want that.”
“I don’t know if I can believe anything you say anymore.” Y/n said shakily.
Alecksandar was yet again silent just looking at her watching his hopes of winning her back flow away. Y/n gently placed her hands on top of his swaying it away from her face and looked up at him with teary eyes.
Alecksandar replied with an awkward shake of head. Before he could say anything y/n spoke up “Leave.”
He was shocked to hear that but he didn’t show it, he was aware it would come to this. But it hurt because he didn’t want it to come to this, he didn’t want to leave. Leave her. But he managed to hide his grief on it. He nodded with this eyes flickering everywhere in the room. “If that’s what you want.” Alecksandar said in a hushed tone.
Y/n simply stood there expression less, putting an act that his actions no longer affect her when her heart had broken into a million pieces by now.
He turned away quick and left not looking back. Y/n closed the door behind him as soon as he left and turned back to look at her room feeling every emotion at once. Her room was empty. Once again.
Ivan was confused seeing the general come back alone but his good instincts chose not to ask him about it judging from his body language.
On his way back he kept thinking about everything y/n said, everything he said, everything happened. His thoughts kept circling around how it was over like that, y/n still meant so much to him but he shattered their perfect snow globe of a relationship. Alecksandar blamed y/n for leaving till now, he found her heartless when he got to know that she had left as though she didn’t care about him that she’d overreacted over a misconception. But now he was certain about the mistakes, his mistakes.
He ran his hand through the pocket of his Kefta taking out the letter she had left him. He remembered the letter distinctly. He had read it several times he knew every word yet he wanted to read it again. The last thing from y/n, probably the last thing ever.
He read her letter again he felt every word this time, what mind-state she would’ve written it in.
Alecksandar, you’ve been the light of my
life ever since I left home. Every happy
memory I’ve had and want to hold onto is
the ones I have with you. But I can’t go
back to living a life of being cold shoul-
again. I hope Alina brings you the
happiness I never could.
Cursing himself silently blaming himself for being the one who put her there in the first place. He was stuck after the word “again” what point of her life was she referring to going back to again? His thoughts spiralled trying to figure out what she meant there. Then it struck him. She meant before arriving to little palace. Y/n had told him about her childhood, the town she grew up in, her family who never considered her as one of their own for something she had no control over. He knew that. He knew he was the only one she had ever called her own. He knew she wouldn’t have expected to be neglected from him. Anyone but him. Y/n never opened up about her past much, she wouldn’t bring it up anytime either trying to escape from it. And she had escaped from it. Alecksandar had been her escape her “home” and he was aware of that.
Thinking back to it, he hadn’t just teared their relationship he had smashed her hopes being loved after leaving home. He had to make it right. He couldn’t just leave y/n to blame herself until she’d heal of what he put her through, he cared more than that. “Turn around.” He spoke firmly to the wagon-driver. The driver was confused they were barely by the outskirts yet. “We’re going back, turn around.” His voice was louder and more eager this time. Ivan gave a nudge to the driver to turn around without sparring a moment knowing the general’s temper.
This time Ivan didn’t even gesture to go with him, knowing his answer already and Alecksandar was fast enough to get out of the wagon rushing up the flight of stair even before Ivan could do so.
Reaching to y/n’s floor felt like an eternity to alecksandar. Finally getting there his head of filled with ways he would apologise. He had knocked several time by then. No reply. He could see the dim lights of a rusted bulb hanging from the damp ceiling were still on, on his way up. Figuring y/n didn’t go back to sleep. “Y/n?” He said softly through the locked door. Y/n didn't reply yet again. “Y/n?” he knocked on the door again.
“Go away” a silent voice almost as of a weeping animal came from the other side of the door.
“Y/n i-it’s me, open the door please.” he responded knowing y/n was right behind the door since when she responded her voice seemed to be close.
Y/n hadn’t moved her position ever since alecksandar left. She was crying, sitting on the floor leaning to the door with her hands hugging her knees. It took her a moment to reply through her sobs. “I—told you to go away!” She said frustrated breaking down into tears again.
“I know-I know—just open up once..please Y/n.”
Y/n stood up this time to open the door. She didn’t want to, but she meant to get over with this facade soon. She brushed the tears off her face only to open the door and see his face again resulting in fresh tears dropping uncontrollably.
He was pleased to see her. Same didn't go for her. Looking at y/n crying made him want to throw her arms around her and keep them there until she stopped. And he did. He stepped forward opening his arms as y/n protested for him to stay back. He hovered his hands around her as she kept making useless attempts of punching his chest to push him away.
“Y/n-y/n-little dove-y/n-shh-“ he cooed her name gripping her hands trying to calm her.
She didn’t look at him, didnt want to look at him. She broke into more tears without saying anything and this time he pulled her in close towards him. Closing his eyes for a moment as it felt nice to be around her again. He felt nice to be around her. Y/n didnt hug him back, couldn’t moreover as his large biceps didn’t let her make her way through his back. She gripped to his kefta by his chest giving up on pushing him away as much as she wanted to she couldn’t. With her cries being muffled as she buried her face in the hug he rubbed his hands through the back trying to calm her. Alecksandar wanted this to last forever. He didn’t even want to think about pulling away from her.
Finally y/n made an attempt to break the hug. She wasn’t sure what to say? Why he had come? Before she’d say anything he gripped her wrists gently taking her to the chair in the corner by the table side. He sat her there without saying a word.
Y/n was confused she looked up at him to find him on his knees close enough that his face was almost by her lap. Alecksandar brushed off the last of her tears. Still in silence.
Y/n sniffled drifting away his hand from her face. “Why are you back?”
“For you.” He said without hesitation.
“I would really like for you to not play any games right now.” Y/n said with a dry huff.
“I’m not playing any games with you.” He took her hands in his and looked into her bloodshot eyes “I’ve been horrible to you-and when I came here I was just the same thinking you’re the one in fault, I was upset the days your were gone—“
“Yeah you looked like it.” She interrupted.
“Ah-“ he chuckled slickly. “I deserved that. But when we were headed back I kept thinking about you, I never wanted things to come to this I truly didn’t. Y/n like you said in your letter, you are the light of my life-only you could say such a thing about the shadow summoner. These last few weeks I’ve been the worst to you and I realise that-I’ve felt that all the days you were gone. Our chamber still has so many of your things yet it feels the emptiest one in the whole palace. I—I feel empty, you’re not in it. I don’t want that not one another day-i dont want to wake up and not see you smile, see you laugh at your own silly jokes, tell me about the book you’re reading without sparing any details-it’s been the seventh hell without you. After everything I’ve done you’ve never once held anything against me. I know what you’ve been through and after all that I put you through that I feel terrible about that-Just come back-I will make it up to you, you have my word I will make it up to you—and I understand if you choose not to but I love you y/n, ever since the day I saw you—I coul—“
Y/n leaned in and placed her lips on top of his. He smiled widely into the kiss shortly before kissing her back raising above his knees to look at her.
“I take that as you’re coming back?” He asked in a calm voice.
“Yes! And about earlier I love you too my love.”
Alecksandar grinned widely before kissing her again.

Word count: 1.7k
Warnings: yk like sensitive?
Summary: Reader’s upset about a pets’s death alecksandar helps her through it—arranged marriage plot—its 5:20 am wow-oh and btw arranged marriage trope bc why not? Extreme fluff and very very shit
Y/n was a lady of a respected house. Sadly for her quite far away from Ravaka. She missed her home terribly, the greens, the people, the palace everything about it. She received letters from her family but it wasn’t the same. It wasn’t bad at little palace either but it wasn’t home. It had been a lot better ever since she had opened up to alecksandar, vice versa with him too.
It was hard for both of them to connect with the awkwardness of being married for political status when neither of them knew each other. Arranged marriages. Alecksandar didn’t want this marriage especially not with a human but he knew it was for the good of his own grishas so he let his duties for his people get the best of him. Y/n too didnt want this marriage she had nothing out of it either, her house name would have more alliance at Ravaka but what of her? What’s good that alliance to her if she couldn’t even be home? Married off like a brood-mare. She didn’t complain much about it, not that she would be heard.
Alecksandar didn’t hate it as much he thought he would, he grew fond of y/n. He would like having her in his chambers, humming random songs and stopping as soon as she sees him turning red as a tomato, painting sceneries he wished to watch her for hours where she sat on the edge of the balcony to paint. Y/n had even got along with people given a few fortnights. She was always seen giggling about something with genya on dinners, talking to grishas genya Introduced her to. Alecksandar would watch from afar, watch her talk to them about something and laugh so endearingly that it would almost melt his heart. He wanted that. He wanted that with her. He envied that he couldn’t be the one to talk to her like she did with genya, Zoya, david, Nadiya, Fedyor everyone but him.
He hated how shy she would get around him, he knew she needed time to adjust to a new place but y/n was already friends with everyone why not him? He did grew impatient and eventually started joining every conversation. Everyone else knew he just tried to get into the conversation to get y/n’s attention it showed pretty well but he didn’t care. He started asking her about her interests which obviously he didn’t knew about because y/n never talked to him about it. He simply just threatened asked fedyor to tell him.
They did grow close, it was everything alecksandar wanted. Watch her laugh, see a smile on her face that’s not forced, listen to her talk about her paintings her joyful naive soul was really precious to him.
Y/n had started to grow feelings for him too, she found herself falling for him. All those times she felt afraid and awkward around him it seemed like eternities ago now. She would love dinners with him where they would talk about their day, giving soft pecks to each other in corridors when no one’s around, Alecksandar putting his arms around her from the back unannounced while y/n would be concentrated to paint and try to distract her was something she grew to like all of it.
Y/n was sitting alongside genya in the empty table room hours after dinner, facing the other side staring at the table flowers expressionless with a her plate yet untouched.
"You’re going to have to eat eventually lady kirigan." Genya said with a soft voice with her face having a concerned frown.
Y/n didn’t reply to her still staring into nothingness, she just shook her head refusing.
"How about you try the pie? Isn’t it your favourite?" Genya’s voice was calm with hope y/n might agree to eat.
Y/n shrugged heavily still firm on not eating. Genya sighed heavily before proposing another way to get her to eat something Alecksandar’s voice came from behind with his footsteps growing closer. "Ah and what is going on her?"
Both of them turned their faces to his voice which came as a relief to genya. "General." She greeted.
He nodded back to genya "You weren’t at dinner today?" He asked y/n who looked at him in shock having trouble coming out of her thoughts.
"She has refused to eat anything the whole day." Genya spoke for her.
"The whole day?!" Alecksandar said in a slightly annoyed huff. "Why wasn’t I informed about this?" He asked genya disappointed she didn’t tell him the whole day.
"It’s not her fault I told her not to." Y/n said with a calm voice defending genya.
Alecksandar took a seat next to y/n looking at her worriedly "You’ve not even touched your plate."
"I lost the appetite." y/n said barely looking at him.
"You’ve not eaten anything the whole day how do you not have the appetite love?" He asked in a calm tone.
Genya had already left till then wishing not to interrupt them hoping he would get her to have dinner.
“I just don’t feel like eating.” She replied with a small smile.
“You’re going to starve yourself like this, little dove."
"I said I don’t want to eat." Y/n said with a huff looking away from the food.
“Is something wrong? Has something happened?” He asked her talking her hands in his. Y/n didnt respond to him this time she kept looking out to the dark night from the window to avoid him.
Alecksandar forcefully turned the chair she was sitting on towards him to make her face him shortly before taking her hands in his again. “What’s wrong y/n?”
She didn’t reply this time either. She held his hands back with her fingers gripping his looking down at their hands trying to think of what to say.
“Why don’t we take this to our chambers hmm?” Alecksandar asked as he understood her uneasiness.
Getting into their chambers alecksandar had the servants change the food with warmer one. Y/n was still strangely silent as he sat her down on the chair by the table in their room.
"Now you want to tell me what happened?"
"You’re going to find it foolish tha—"
"Something’s upset you enough to have you starve yourself for the whole day I would most certainly not find it foolish of all things. I would like you to know you can talk to me about what’s upsetting you.” Alecksandar said with concerned expression.
"Alright I-well—" y/n stuttered trying to get words out that would make sense "you see I-I had this hound when I came here, ocean. I had him with me since I was ten he’d always used to sleep beside my bed. Here he’s by the kennels and I didn’t get much time to eat meals with him like I used to before—he hated being away and sleeping by the kennels I’d meet him daily of course but it wasn’t like home. He’d be with me all day-and soon he stopped eating, he wouldn’t eat anything at all even if I visited him and I got to know this morning that ocean’s passed away—" she managed to get our with her voice breaking at the end.
Alecksandar was stunned to hear this, his heart ached he knew how hard it would’ve been on her. "Y/n—I’m really sorry, I didn’t knew-"
"It’s alright." she responded in a soft voice barley a whisper.
Alecksandar stood up from his chair walking to her "Loosing a pet you’ve had for so long must be very difficult-especially hounds? They’re such loyal creatures. I’m really sorry about ocean.” He said kissing her temples gently.
Y/n didnt want to cry but a tear formed in her eye unstoppably following another one she sniffled trying to hold them thinking he might find her stupid for crying over a hound.
“Are you crying?” He asked lowering his head trying to get a better look at her face.
“No!” She dined and brushed off some tears from her cheeks just to have more flowing uncontrollably.
Alecksandar looked at her with a soft expression as much as he didn’t want her to cry he knew she would need to get it out somewhere. “Look at me-it’s alright, ocean was so lucky to have found you-we can’t keep them forever and he’s surely in a better place now! I know you’re hurting and it’s really painful to let go off someone you loved dearly like that-"
"O-ocean was barley a pup when we first found him—he was so adorable-I begged and begged my father to let us keep him and—and-“ y/n tried continuing between the sobs but broke down into more tears when alecksandar pulled her into his arms.
He rubbed her back gently cooing her as she gripped to his kefta crying thinking back to memories of ocean. After a moment when she could speak up again from the crying she began "He was the only thing I had from home—I miss him-I miss home!” She said not pulling away from the hug.
Alecksandar gently led her to sit by the edge of bed and sad close next to her.
"You need to patient with yourself to grieve for ocean, It must be so painful for you right now and it’s alright it will get better I assure you-he would always hold a special place in your heart, he’s from your home, you grew up with him. It will be alright I know nothing would fill that void right now and I am truly sorry for that. But I am here for you to help you through it”
"Thank you alecksandar I—that’s very thoughtful of you."
"It’s nothing I just want you to be okay and I’m with you however long it takes. Maybe we can take a visit back at your home?" Alecksandar proposed with his arm around her shoulder.
"I would love that!" Y/n responded brightly smiling at him.
Alecksandar smiled back "For now, why don’t we just have that dinner hmm?" He said standing up gesturing out his hand for her to hold to walk to the table.
Y/n nodded taking her hand. "Thank you alecksander-really."
Alecksandar kissed her in reply.
Edit: this one sucks 🧍‍♂️

“You’re perfect”
Warning: Eating disorder
Word count: 1.6K
Summary: The reader goes through a hard time with her body image after listening to what everyone says about her alecksandar finds out about it.
Note: This is a sensitive subject so please read at your own risk and let me know if I forgot to put in any warnings. Also listen to me-you are a literal god/goddess the prettiest bean there is and anyone telling you otherwise can choke <3
Y/n and general had been a couple for quite a few time now. Everyone adored them being together, they’d seen how she’d changed the general’s behaviour. He’d been more Merry ever since they started dating. Some would even mention little less uptight.
But isn’t it obvious that a lot wouldn’t like their relationship simply because they envy y/n dating the general kirigan.
There had always been warm smiles and nice comments whenever y/n would enter the hall with general or around his presence. But whenever she was at training or roaming the halls by herself she’d always get their eyes rolled at her, hear them talk ill about their relationship she’d adapted to ignore them and not tell the general about it to make things worse. She wanted them to like her. Y/n had managed to ignore them for quite a few time. She acted as if she didn’t care what they said, it wasn’t supposed to. Or so she thought. They’d comment about her looks, how she didn’t look as near good as the general, How She was still a just grisha under training dating the most powerful Grisha, her posture looked like that of an old person, her body wasn’t nearly even as good enough as any Grisha at the little palace and the general must’ve been dating her out of pity. All these petty comments didn’t matter to her at first but day by day they got under her skin eventually. Slowly she assumed they were true. Y/n’s image of herself started turning into all the of the things they’d say about her.
She acted upon those things. She started training harder each day so she could match their and the general’s level. She trained till the extent she’d pass out as soon as she hit the bed. She cut her diet to healthier stuff. Everyday She focused more on the quantity of what she ate cutting it shorter and shorter expecting more results. It did show on her body. She’d grew thinner how she hoped to, to fit into people’s standards so they’d see her as better. After all that she’d feel not “pretty enough” like they talked about her whenever she’d look into the mirror. She was so falsely convinced how to she looked according to them.
It went for a few weeks or so until she did loose a lot of weight, y/n felt accomplished of it. But she didn’t just loose weight, she’d been cutting her diet shorter which resulted in loosing a lot of energy. She’d be very weak to train everyday but she pushed herself to do so. The urge to eat was dying inside of her each day with all the weeks she forced herself into eating less. She grew more comfortable of not eating.
Apart from being physically weak she had started to look pale. She didn’t eat enough and it showed. And of course people commented about that too. It was never enough for them. She continued with her eating habits knowingly it had gone wrong at this point but she didn’t feel like eating, it had become a chore to her.
Her body had reached at its peak to handle her training and she fainted on the training ground. She was by a healer’s side when she gained consciousness again. The healer told her how she fainted in the middle of training, nothing she wasn’t already aware of. She knew her body was reacting but she didn’t predict of fainting while training. She insisted the healer not to tell general about this because she knew how he’d react to it and she didn’t want to have a lecture on it. Let alone a lecture she wasn’t clear how to explain it to him.
——
The night was just settling in and y/n was in her chambers reading by the table side. She heard footsteps growing closer outside of her chambers. Alecksandar. She looked up at him from her book and greeted him with a gentle smile as he entered the room.
“Evening y/n.”
“Evening alecksandar” she said as she closed her book. Before she could stand up herself, alecksandar took her gently by her hands pulling her to stand up and brought up closer to him, putting her hands by his chest with his hands still on top of her.
“How was your day?” he asked grinning.
“Mine was great! How was yours?” She lied.
“Mine was great as well. How’s training coming along?”
“Training-was good too!” She lied again with a smile to sound more convincing.
“I know what happened today.” He said with a huff.
“What?” She said with a blank expression.
“Don’t play dumb with me y/n! You know what”
“Fine-so you know! I fainted during training the healer told you.” Y/n said with a sigh pulling away from him.
“And why is that?”
“Why is what?”
“How did you faint in the training ground?”
“What—now-it’s nothing-have you never heard of people passing out?” She said trying to not meet his gaze.
“Stop lying to me! The healer told me.”
“What?”
“You’ve been growing weak-and I don’t need anyone else to tell me about it, I see you each day don’t you think I know you’re not eating enough and training more and more.”
Y/n didnt reply, she didn’t knew what to reply. Her eyes just wandered to the whole chamber trying not meeting his.
He took a step closer to her and cupped her cheeks “Tell me-what happened?” He said lifting her face to meet his eyes.
She placed her hands on his to take them off of her face, trying to fight back tears she still stood silent.
“Talk to me. What’s wrong?” He said not letting go of her.
“It’s..it’s been like this for-a month. I-I’ve heard people talk about us—“
“Did someone say something to you?” He interrupted her with protective tone.
“N-no not to me-they’re not wrong at their place-“
“What did they say to you?” He asked again.
“It’s not—“
“What did they say? Who was it?”
She pulled herself away from him looking at her feet standing silent again.
“Y/n i will not ask again-What did they say to you?”
She didn’t reply this time either.
“Fine I will just ask everyone from the palace instead.”
“No!”
“Then tell me.”
“They’ve—they’ve just been saying-how I’m not good enough for you, they’re not wrong. But also how I looked-and they were right about that too.”
“Bullshit! They’re wrong! Who said that?!”
“Alecksandar you’re not listening—“
“I am! They’re wrong! How come you let somebody else decide you’re not good enough for me? No how come you decided you’re not good enough for me love?” He argued.
Y/n sighed heavily before continuing “you’re not listening! I would know about me won’t I? I know I don’t look even half as good as anyone here-plus I’m not good of a Grisha either”
“Y/n...” he paused “where’s this coming from?”
“Everywhere! Cant you see for yourself how I look? I wanted to be better for you-I cut off my diet lesser and lesser I kept taking extra trainings—and-and it did work.”
“Y/n no? What are you talking about you were and are perfect you always have been-why did you not tell me about this before?”
“What could I’ve said? I forced myself to eat lesser each day until it despised me-eating itself despised me-I grew better in “not eating” I’m more comfortable that way—“ a tear rolled down her checks before she continued “and that became a routine which resulted into becoming a “skeleton” like everyone said-and I couldn’t bare it-its just never enough! I—“ she said choking on her words.
He pulled her into a hug, wrapping his hands around her coping her “come here-“
He said rubbing her back gently as she cried into his chest still murmuring. “It’s alright little dove shh-“
He stroked her hair and made her face him “look at me-you have always been perfect. You’re the prettiest person to me and you always will be wether you believe it or not. You believed what everyone said about you just because they’re jealous of you-and why wouldn’t they be? Have you looked at you? Each day seeing you walk around the palace-it melts my heart. I watch you when you laugh, when you throw a tantrum, when you make stupid jokes, when you pretend to be asleep, when you’re reading-everything you do, you’re perfect!” He said with a huge grin looking back at her.
“Alecksandar thats—that’s really nice I-“
“I’m just describing you-just saying things you should now about yourself. You don’t have to fall into anyone’s else vision of how you should look when you’re already that beautiful.”
Y/n chuckled and looked up at him smiling.
He smile back brushing her tears “there’s that smile.” Alecksandar remarked.
She smiled wider and stood on her tip goes and brushed her lips on his and he kissed back.
“But..now-it just exhausts me to eat-it takes a lot to even bring myself to eat in the first place.” She admitted dryly.
“That’s completely alright. I’ll be here for you-we can have every meal of the day together, it’ll take time but slowly you’ll get better Hmm? And I’ll help you through it.”
She nodded happily “I’d like that-“
“Yeah? I love you even though you’re an absolute moron.” He huffed.
“Hey—“ she narrowed her eyes playfully.
He kissed her again in response.
“Guess I love to you too-“ she said smiling between the kiss.

Chapter 6
Note: I wrote this chapter for two hours and it’s suddenly 4 am
Warnings: None just fluff
Word count: 1.6k
They took y/n inside to a tent, followed by the general. The healers places her on the bed and started performing that usual practises. Checked pulses, blood pressure, heart rate. General stood there through the whole process until they wanted to check further.
One of the healers turned to him with “general.“ she said pointing to y/n and glanced at the exit of the tent.
General was blank what she was indicating to “Yes?”
“W—We have to check her.”
He sighed and stood there firmly “well go on! who’s stopping you?”
“We have to take off her clothes, do you mind?” She said hesitating.
General cleared his throat and nodded “Call me immediately once you’re done.” He said stepping outside of the tent.
It had been evening since y/n gained consciousness. Turns out over using her power and lack of practise resulted in being unconscious for, well 12 hours. General had been checking in on her every hour.
Y/n was lying on bed she had been placed on, quite a shock to herself. Given everything she had done in ketterdam she fainted out of lack of energy? Maybe because she didn’t have to use her powers that much pack there? She kept staring around the room with all these thoughts before the general stepped in. More like barged in.
“Miss y/n!” He said out a sheer relief to himself seeing her awake.
“General.” She sat up letting out a groan form lying in the bed.
“Oh no no please—you need rest.” He told her walking to her beside.
Y/n shook her head and chuckled slightly “it’s alright”
“So? Do you feel better?” He asked sitting on the edge of the bed.
“Yeah-I feel much better..”
“That’s pleasant to hear.” He said giving her a smile.
“Yeah-“ she nodded not knowing what to say.
“I—“ he cleared his throat “I wanted to apologise for earlier.”
“For?” She asked blankly.
“I yelled at you insensitively before-just because I couldn’t swallow my defeat.” He said meeting up her gaze.
Yelling at each other because you don’t agree with them? Nothing new at the crow club she thought. “Oh-That? It’s fine.”
“No it wasn’t-it wasn’t right at the slightest of me to treat you that way.” He admitted.
“I mean it, it’s quite alright.” She shrugged.
“Is there any way I can make it up to you?” He asked with a generous look.
“General like I said it’s not-“
“Alecksandar. Call me alecksandar.”
He cut her off trying to sound as smooth as possible.
“Alecksandar?”
He nodded smiling looking at her from the corner of his eye.
“Alright well for now can you just fetch me a cup of water? My whole body screams in pain if I move.” She said with a sarcastic remark.
He stood up to and walked to the table, poured her a glass of water and walked back to the bed she was sitting on. “You said you were alright?” He asked handing her the glass.
“Thanks! I am. It will go away with a good sleep.”
“Ah well maybe I was right with you lacking training. We’ll have train more once we get back.” He said chuckling.
“What? No-I am properly trained.” She said in a stiff voice.
He sat to the edge of her bedside again but closed this time. “Yes of course, it explains all this.” He teased again.
“Well your training ways are pretty stupid!”
“Pardon?” He said raising a brow.
“They’re stupid.” Y/n admitted mockingly shrugging her shoulders trying not to laugh.
“That’s harsh, they’re not!” He added a sarcastic gasp.
She hit his elbow playfully “sorry to break it to you then.” She hit him again laughing as an annoyed expression was spread across his face.
“Stop it-“
She hit him again with a pillow this time. He had enough now. Alecksandar pushed the pillow away from her and gripped her wrists bringing her closer and a giggle escaped her mouth had he looked into her eyes heartily.
After a while he let go off her wrists still having her face just as close to his not breaking eye contact.
“Y/n...” he whispered. “I’m about to do something very stupid.”
“I like stupid things.” She said smiling.
Before y/n knew he leaned in and crashed his lips onto hers. Cupping her cheeks, she smiled into the kiss as he brushed his lips onto hers.
He broke the kiss to look at her and they were both grinning like children, none of them knew what to say but to look at each other and smile-it wasn’t awkward it was just stupid between them.
“I’ll see you in the morning then.” Alecksandar said with a smirk and stood up.
Y/n nodded at him with a wide grin spread across her face as he bent to plant a peck on her cheek before leaving the tent.
For a while y/n kept blushing to what just happened lying in the bed, but the it hit her what is she going to do when they get back?
——
Y/n and alecksandar hadn’t talked after yesterday yet. Moreover y/n had avoided talking to him until she could figure out what would she tell her friends? Would this even work out nevertheless? The other day when they reached back to the little palace alecksandar had shown eager attempts to talk to y/n, sometimes he would be snatched away to war meetings, sometimes y/n would slip away with an excuse. Y/n didnt plan to do this for long just until she could talk to Jesper. Obviously she decided not to tell kaz and Inej about it rather scared of the outcome. Kaz may plan to leave the very day with our without plan. Inej might as well just loose her mind and threaten to kill the general if he tried to come near her. Y/n avoided alecksandar until she could talk to Jesper who was nowhere to be found she did talk to Kaz and Inej when she returned. Even told them about what happened with the white walkers Kaz not that amused, as long as it wasn’t gonna affect him why would he be? Inej on the other hand was stunned with it. She refused believe when y/n said she killed a white Walker.
It was evening now and y/n finally got hold of Jesper, he came to meet her himself and hugged her tightly. After a moment she pulled away from the hug and looked at him.
“I’ve been looking all over for you for the whole day! Where were you?” She said with an annoyed tone.
“Kaz sent me to get a raven to send letters.”
“A Raven?” Y/n asked confused.
“Yes turns out, the letters kaz had been sending out for months never left little palace.”
“What? They’re not sending out the letters?”
“That’s why the Raven.”
“Wait but who is he sending these letters to?” Y/n asked as they walked by the corridors.
“Hell if he’d ever tell anyone about his plans.” Jesper snorted.
“Ah who am I kidding? It’s Kaz-hey but how did you get a raven?”
“D-don’t ask.” Jesper said with a disgusted look on his face.
“Oh—alright-I need to talk to you about something.”
“Yes?”
“Not here.” She walked both of them to the garden making sure no one was around. “Promise me you can’t tell kaz and Inej.”
“You killed someone?” Jesper asked with a common expression.
“No-why would I come to you if I did?” She said putting emphasis on you.
“Point. Don’t tell me you broke kaz’s cane again? You’ve only been back for a day y/n!”
“I didn’t! Just promise me you won’t tell them.”
“Oh-well then it can’t be that bad I promise you I won’t tell them.”
Y/n told him about her and alecksandar, about what happened and Jesper didn’t say anything even until after she finished narrating.
“Jesper?” Y/n asked nervously what he might say.
“YOU KISSED THE GENERAL?!” He said looking shocked.
“SHH—Jesper! Someone will hear you!”
She shushed him.
“You kissed the general?!” He whispered this time with the same tone.
“He kissed me-well-“ y/n said trying to sound defensive.
Jesper just gave her a really displeased look that read “are you kidding me” on his face.
“Alright alright-we kissed.” Y/n admitted.
“I don’t know if this is or is not worse than breaking kaz’s cane.” Jesper said scoffing.
“Not the time for jokes.”
“Have you talked to the general yet?”
“About what?”
“About ravaka’s future.” Jesper made a sarcastic comment to with y/n narrowed her eyes. “About the two of you. Certainly he doesn’t know we plan to run off does he?”
“That’s why! See-so I don’t know what to do about it now!” Y/n said with a sigh.
“Do you like him?” Jesper asked.
“I shouldn’t.” Y/n admitted dryly.
“Well-he did try to kill us, but he does have a pretty face.”
“And hes a good kisser.” Y/n said blushing to which Jesper rolled his eyes.
“Look—its gonna take kaz more time with letters sent by ravens so in the mean time....” he said shrugging his shoulders.
“You’re not suggesting—“
“We’re eitherways running away eventually but till then you can maybe not break General good kisser’s heart. I mean what’s the harm if you like him back?” Jesper said raising his brows.
“That’s actually not a bad advise Jesper. Coming from you—“ y/n teased.
“Fine then I’ll just tell kaz and Inej.” Jesper said turning back and y/n grabbed his arm.
“Okay no no no-that was a great advise thank you Jesper.”
“Anytime. Just don’t do something stupid hmm?”
“I won’t.”

Chapter 4
Warnings: Deaths.
Word count: 1.6k
Note: So sorry i haven’t updated in two days I kinda almost reached the deadline for three assignments and now I’ve an extra lecture each day as well—so 🧍‍♂️
It was two days after the announcement to leave for north by the general. Despite of the fact that the dreggs had to leave the little palace as soon as Kaz came up with a plan. As of Kaz he hadn’t come up with any instructions for the rest of them to set a plan in focus. Neither had he told y/n to escape on the way to the north which seemed weird to the rest of them as it could’ve been a way out of little palace. Kaz refused her to do such a thing instead he’d just sit in the shed outside sending out letters and ravens to somewhere. But as shocking as it may sound y/n trusted Kaz. She knew he’d come up with a way to get them out of here. They all trusted Kaz and for now it was enough for them to hold onto.
It was past midnight the day before the unit y/n had made to join were to leave for the north. She was almost done with packing the knives as Inej advised her to along with her clothes when she heard a knock on the door. Strange. Because except for her only Inej would come to her chambers after midnight and Inej would never use the door, the window obviously. She strolled towards the door, she opened it in a small crack to see first if it’s safe enough to let whoever it is inside at this hour. General. She was surprised to see him here, he was the last person she would’ve expected to be here at this time. She opened the wider standing up front before greeting general with a nod.
“General.”
“Y/n. Packed for tomorrow?”
“Yes—I was almost finished.” She said pointing back the knives on her table.
“Knives? You know you won’t be able to take down a druskelle with a knife.”
“Oh you’d be surprised.”
“Right—I forgot I was talking to the infamous y/n from ketterdam.”
Y/n just slightly chuckled off a possibly implied insult.
“I came here to give you this-“ general began before bringing forward a black kefta, with the casual golden embroidery on the torso side.
“A kefta—black one—“ she said looking down at it trying not to sound amused at the slightest though she did found it quite staggering in a good way.
“It’s yours, after that day I got genya to make you a black one.”
“I-that’s-that’s lovely but I can’t take it.”
“Why not?”
“Black—it’s your colour-and I’m not trained enough to get a claim to it.”
“Technically you’re my student, maybe not as good one but you are and you do look ridiculous in keftas the best I can do is make you look a little less ridiculous” he said with a playful huff.
“That’s very thoughtful of you but I don’t—“
“I’ve not come here to propose to you to wear a black kefta i am telling you to do so. Besides it’s just a colour.”
“Are you su—“
“I am. I want to see you in that kefta tomorrow when we leave. Don’t be late” he said cutting her off again.
“I—I-okay-“
“Good night miss y/n.” He said and started to walk towards his chambers.
“Night.” She said watching him walk away and closed the door behind her leaving her by the edge of the door with the kefta general gave her. She put it by the table to keep it ready when she’d have to wear it to leave the next day. She jumped on to her bed exhausted and grunted in her pillow before drifting off to sleep.
The next morning when the unit which were to fight against the drüskelle in the north, the whole palace was almost awake when the night was still young and dawn was get to set. As y/n walked outside of her chambers everyone looked shocked seeing her in a black kefta. Some of them even tried to hide it that they were somehow shocked rather than jealous, some whispers here and there. Y/n barely make it out of the palace without being overwhelmed by the embarrassment. She couldn’t care less about what the grishas of the palace had to say as she couldn’t even get herself to think what’d the dreggs have to say about it.
The wagons were set ready for them to leave. General was have some last minute conversations with Ivan about the mission while y/n decided to see off to her team.
“Y/n—“ Jesper stood speechless as he saw her coming in a black kefta.
Before he could make a taunt or a funny comment y/n cut him off “don’t even—“
Jesper just nodded in reply trying not to laugh understanding the sheer embrasement of hers.
“Y/n? A black kefta?” Inej said sounding rather civil.
“It’s—the general insisted-and I—“ Kaz stepped in before she could finish.
“A black kefta?!” Exclaimed Kaz.
“Ah perfect.” Y/n said with a sigh.
“It’s the least of our concerns for now-going north today?” He said.
“Yes.”
“Packed for the cold?” Kaz asked shifting the attention.
“Yes.”
“Packed the knives?” Asked Inej.
“Yes.”
“I’d offer a blue kefta too just to look colourful.” joked Jesper.
“If you make one more joke I will kill you with my bare hands when I return.”
“Sure! Try you luck.”
“Enough.” Said Kaz silencing them both “-and most importantly don’t die.”
“Of course!” Y/n said with a proud smile.
“Remember no mourners-“
“No funerals.”
It took about two days of ride from Ravaka to the north at castle black to the wall. They were given cabin rooms at the castle black, at the first day of arriving there almost the whole of unit from Ravaka was a shivering mess. They didn’t tend to stay for long as soon as the drüskelle beyond the wall are set silent they can merely March back to Ravaka which wouldn’t take that much time the general presumed. They reached there at night where they decided to sleep in for a day, it ought to be coldest night for the most of them north’s cold indeed was playing its part.
In the morning the general set the until into two groups to March beyond the wall as planned. The two groups would split in different directions and cover the drüskelle camps from the both sides. It is enormous land beyond the wall as far as the eye can see but given the recent attacks on the men on the night’s watch (the people who guard the wall they’re human btw) they might’ve not gotten that far.
General stays back if it’d come to that matter that the drüskelle were to manage to fight back the Grisha unit, for which general was pretty sure won’t happen but maybe a wildling interference. He had a bunch of healers and a few heartrenders for questioning with him for when they return.
He’d also had y/n staying back with them to which she protested to the extent.
“Why can’t I go? I’m not a healer or a heartrender! They’d need me.”
“You’re not trained enough.” He said drily.
“I-then why’d you bring me here in the first place all the way north then?”
“So you can watch and learn.” He added a smirk.
It had almost a day since both of the units had left, they’d be returning anytime today. y/n was at the castle library flipping through pages aggressively.
“Greetings miss y/n.” said the general as he entered the library. Y/n didn't reply to him and kept reading the book in front of her.
“You know how to read?” He asked walking to the shelves to pick out a book. She didn’t reply yet again.
“Sulk all you want-I know what I’m getting my grishas into and I’d be the one to choose as well.”
“If you weren’t going to let me go with them why bring me here?”
“You’re not the only Grisha I’ve kept back have i? I don’t see them complaining.”
“Well they’re healers and heartrenders and I’m not!”
“I have never been north-“
“So haven’t I!” She said defensive almost quickly.
“Listen! And getting here I realised bringing you here was a mistake because not beyond or beside the wall is what you’re trained for because the cold.”
She hesitated before to calm herself before replying in spite of anger “You lack honour.”
“Honour? Fine call it what you want.” He said letting out a scoff.
“No I do mean it big titles like “the general” and you don’t even fight with honour!”
“Fight with honour? That’s a knight saying-I’m not one-where did you even learn that and if anyone here’s lacking honour we know who that is.”
“Ah yes—me! The criminal for ketterdam!”
“Well....”
“At least I’ve never made a decision out of my pathetic ego.”
Before general could continue they heard a huge bell blast coming from someone at the watch. General stormed outside with y/n following him.
“One horn. One horn means the rangers! They must be back.” Y/n said coming out of the library.
She was right. There were some Grisha horses marching back to the wall, they walked to the large castle doors opening as they watched the horses from the far coming closer.
Only when they comes nearer there wasn’t a single Grisha on them. They were tied by their legs to their horses, not moving. As they drifted closer-the general came to know they had died. All of them. 16 dead bodies tied to horseback.

Chapter two
It had been several days since the general had given the “kidnappers from ketterdam” a pardon to live. Though the dreggs weren’t as thankful with the new life they had now.
They were kept a strict watch on so they can’t plan an escape from a little palace or maybe try and kidnap another Grisha. Expect the unexpected. Y/n, Inej, kaz and Jesper weren’t allowed to meet each other for more than ten minutes being in the same palace. Even if they’d just be conversing about something that didn’t sound criminal-a normal conversation to be precise. They were always dragged away from each other by the grisha’s who worked in shifts to keep an eye on them.
Y/n was a Grisha, hence she wasn’t assigned “work” like her group but training would go on for a whole day. Back in ketterdam y/n had never had to train like they did at little palace with the other grishas. She’d just do her part of the mission accordingly as kaz’s plan unaware of the boundaries of her own power.
“Jesper-hey! Here!” Waved y/n looking at Jesper by the stables from the stairs.
She rushed downstairs to the stables.
“Greetings.” Snorted Jesper.
“How’s everything going?”
“Cant you tell? I’m doing kaz’s part of the work because he needs time to come up with a plan to get us out of here—and so far Ive already fed 6 horses and Millo and he still needs time, so say hi to the seventh horse.”
“Ah the struggle!”
“How’s everything going with the Grisha y/n so far—be quick though it’s not long before one of the “Grisha the spies in disguise” assume that we’re planning a murder and separate us.”
“I cannot explain how much I hate that concept-if we were to murder someone why would we need to plan it? We can clearly do it with a blink of eyes” y/n said with a scoff.
“You say stuff like this out in open is why they need to keep an eye on us.”
Before y/n could reply inej came along “To be frank we could outsmart them in no time if it weren’t that obvious.”
“True that inej.” y/n said giving her a warm smile.
“That kefta looks really incredible on you.” commented inej.
“Tease all you want it looks ridiculous.” y/n said drily.
“I meant it as a compliment it doesn’t look that bad.”
“Hate to say it but I agree with y/n on this one” said Jesper holding back a laugh.
Y/n gave him a pissed look “there whole training process is ridiculous as well.”
“Why?” Asked inej.
“They don’t allow to use powers while training—what’s the point of that? It’s like you fighting without knives.”
“Using knives is a skill but do go on”
“The other day we were supposed to fight a chosen opponent since we weren’t fighting with powers I was waiting for somebody to bring a sword and this bi—“ y/n paused before continuing since inej was present “bi-s-biscuit-ish prick? Yeah she just punched me and I wasn’t even ready.”
“Since when do you know how to swing a sword?” asked Inej
“I’ve never had to use one at ketterdam but well-I know how though.”
“I bet that wasn’t the first defeat was it?” Jesper remarked
“Jesper—“
Y/n rolled her eyes,”after a sixth punch on the face they told me I should just watch instead.”
“What id pay to watch that.”
“Don’t worry this is just temporary until we can go back to ketterdam.” said inej trying to sound optimistic.
“It won’t be that hard this time since the fold.” y/n added.
“I don’t know but we’ve been here for three days and kaz still hasn’t told us how to get out of here.” Jesper said shrugging is shoulders.
“Trust the boss I guess”
“Trust the boss indeed y/n”
Y/n saw two grishas with a stern look on their face approaching them she let out a sigh and began “I guess this is where we part for now-meet you at dinner.”
“Take care!” Said Inej before turning.
It was roughly around sun down and the evening was just setting. Just the last of y/n’s training was going on where again she was just told to watch. She had just been sitting and watching them for almost half of the day thankful the training was about to end. She tilted her has back from the bench and saw millo grazing the small baby grass grown at the edge of the pavement wall. She stood up to go to him since she wasn’t even being trained there and nobody would’ve noticed she left in the 10 minutes.
She took millo by her arm before walking to the side walk “There you are!” She said petting millo’s head not looking straight as she walked and bumped into a taller figure.
“S-sorry” she said before looking up “oh—apologies general”
Alecksander hissed at the sudden disturbance on his way “Miss y/n is it?”
“Yes-“
“One of a kind of a Grisha and here you are playing with goats instead of being in the training.”
“Milo.” she muttered before continuing “I was at the training the whole day.”
“And? How are you setting in so far?”
“So far I’ve been sitting and watching so there’s that”
“Sitting and watching?”
“Yeah well it’s for the better the masters thought it’s better if I watch for a few days rather than making a fool out of myself with a classic defeat each time in front of everyone.”
“A criminal from ketterdam who crossed the fold—gets defeated in the training grounds, interesting.” He said with a slight chuckle.
Y/n gulped at the insult of being defeated “In ketterdam i didn’t have to fight random idiots without my power which is as foolish as it is in the first place.”
“How so?”
“What’s the point of the training as a Grisha if you’re not allowed to use your powers”
“Because you’re not that aware of your powers that much that’s why it’s training.”
“Trust me, I am aware of my powers.” Y/n said with a scoff.
“Oh are you now? Alright then why don’t you train with me and we can see how much aware you are.”
“Wh—n-no”
“I beg your pardon?”
“I mean n-no no, that’s not how I meant-“
“You’re aware of powers so much as you say-we’ll just train and see if you’re right miss y/n.”
“N-no no-I am very much happy being trained at-“
He cut her off “Oh no it’s settled now-tomorrow before crack of dawn we’ll meet here before leaving for training.”
“Wait before sunrise? That’s pretty earlier from the time of training here.”
“We’re not training here are we?”
Before she could ask any more questions he was already on his way back to the palace “Before dawn. Tomorrow. Here. Don’t be late.” He said with a quick smirk before being lost among the palace pillars.
Leaving y/n still with millo “See that millo—is how you invite trouble yourself.” Millo bleated in reply. “Yes I definitely am an idiot.”

Chapter 5
Warning: ANGST ANGST ANGST, Deaths??
Word count: 2k+
Note: Sorry I haven’t updated in a while I was busy with school this week and I cringed so hard at this chapter I haven’t proof read this because I get sm second hand embarrassment from this chapter and it’s 3 am 🥲
——
It had come as a shock to general that his Grisha unit failed against the drüskelle. Not failed executed. He failed them. His failure made them cost their life. He was shaken to his core by this. How did he lead them to get butchered far away from home like this? He couldn’t bare to look the bodies, he couldn’t bare to look at himself how he so unknowingly got his grishas slaughtered like lambs.
The bodies were placed on the tables by the castle’s outside keeps. 16 bodies. General had came with a team of twenty five whereas now only nine were going to return alive. If it weren’t for him being so blind about the drüskelle capability or if he’d been there all of them would still be alive. He couldn’t meet anyone’s eyes-he was so disappointed in himself. For the first few hours he was furious as if he would have almost raided their camps if Ivan hadn’t stopped him.
He resisted visiting the bodies for the whole day. He just couldn’t bring himself to see their faces. Finally, in the evening he built up the will to see them. He stood there inspecting all of the bodies with sympathy and grief on his face and a tear rolled down his cheek.
Ivan and y/n too had been there to pay their respects and also to see to it general’s not taking it too heavy on himself. He cleared this throat hearing their footsteps and kept staring down at the table in nothingness.
Tumblr media
“General.” Ivan said breaking the silence.
He simply nodded not looking back.
Y/n just looked at Ivan as they both shared a downcast look with each other.
After a while of melancholy silence kirigian said with a huff “this is all my fault.”
Ivan gently nudged y/n to say something
“—you didn’t know.” she said stepping forward.
“I should’ve known.”
“You didn’t lead them here knowingly this would happen.”
“But I did lead them to get massacred thousand miles away from Ravaka.”
Y/n was just as shocked as him so was the rest of the unit. They weren’t aware that this was to expect. General stood there for a while finally coming out with y/n and Ivan following him. He seemed rather different now than he was inside.
“What are we going to do with the bodies?” Ivan asked as he tried to match is pace walking along with y/n.
“We March back tomorrow and we burry them in the dignified cemetery.” Replied the general sounding stern.
“It would take us two days to get back.” Y/n said confused and stopped walking.
“And your point is?” General said turning towards her.
“We can’t just leave them out here for a whole night.”
“Pardon?”
“Y-you know we’re in the north? We-we’ll have to burn the bodies.”
“Have you gone insane?” He let a frustrated sigh.
“You know what’s out there? We can’t leave dead bodies lying around especially not here.”
“You don’t mean the white walkers do you?” asked Ivan sounding convinced of what y/n was implying. Y/n stood silent in response being yes but quite something he wouldn’t believe which would make her sound rather stupid.
“They’ve been dead for a thousand years miss y/n I assume youve read quite a lot stories growing up.” General said being ignorant about what y/n proposed.
“N-no. You will have to burn them—it’s the north general. I’m not just bluffing about—”
“I think we’ve heard enough about it.” He cut her off.
“You don’t get it—”
“I will not take advise about what to do with the Martyred Grisha of my palace from you. I will most certainly not burn them like drüskelles do when the catch one.” He said with a high pitched voice, yelled. Causing everyone left on their unit’s attention to their conversation. Y/n stood there in silence not protesting her point this time, letting the uncalled for yelling sink in.
“They died protecting their own kind, They will be buried with proper dignity back at Ravaka. I do not wish to hear another thing about this from a ketterdam thug.” Alecksandar said and stormed back inside.
Ivan looked at y/n with sorry eyes, it was her first time being on a Grisha mission which failed and now getting yelled at by the general in front of everyone.
“He’s just frustrated with the events of today-”
“I-I-know-its alright.” She said letting out a sigh and raised her brows awkwardly at Ivan gesturing to leave as she turned to walk inside.
“Miss y/n?”
“-yes”
“Is it true what you mentioned about the white Walkers? The dead?”
She was already embarrassed enough and didn’t know how to elaborate to anyone without sounding even more of an imbecile. She had been sure of what she knew, what she’d seen but there wasn’t a point explaining anymore since general had already made up his mind. “Maybe I got it wrong, maybe I’m a little bit too much of a fanatic.” She said.
It was dinner time in the same hall the whole of the unit was sitting together and it was just a bunch of them left now. General hadn’t attended the dinner. There weren’t round or fancy tables at castle black, let alone black there weren’t more than three tables. Long bench-like tables carved unfinished of wood to the sides. The dinning hall itself wasn’t that fancy either, more of a damp room with tables. Not that it mattered what size or what kind of tables it had at the night’s watch with the cold.
Tumblr media
Y/n set on the edge of the table leaving 2-3 spaces between everyone. Everyone was scattered around the hall, some mourning, some chatting on about what to do, some barely eating and standing close to the fireplace to keep out the cold. It wasn’t much needed for the heartreners. Of course.
There was a horn blown loudly from the top of the wall just like earlier that day. One horns to indicates rangers. The room felt silent as everyone’s attention diverted to the horn sound. Y/n stood from where she was and walked over to the window and nudged from it casting a blank gaze outside, unaware.
“Rangers? At this hour?” Someone from the unit asked surprisingly continuing to going to back to eating after a moment of no instructions from anywhere apart from heavy footsteps of the men of the night’s watch running outside. As y/n turned back to the table there was a second horn.
“Second horn?” Asked Ivan.
“-What’s that for?”
“Wildlings. One horn for the rangers, two for wildlings and three—” before she could finish a loud horn was blown again with sounds of men outside cursing in chaos, finding armours, shields, bows-as they ran around the field.
“What’s the third one for?”
Everyone inside was in a alert position taken from the hustle going on outside.
“What’s going on—what are they doing?” Ivan said as he went outside to see to it himself.
“Three for the white Walkers.” Y/n said as she followed Ivan along with the others.
“White walkers?! They’ve been dead for thousands of years—”
“CLOSE THE BLOODY GATE NOW!” Somebody yelled from other side as the night watch’s men ran there with swords and every other thing they could find towards to the gates.
“It’s coming from there-“ Ivan ran forward. He stopped of shock with wide eyes, unable to accept what he’d just seen. Humanoid dead creatures. Rotten corpses hard to recognise, wittingly walking, fighting to get towards the gates.
Tumblr media
(THIS IS SO CURSED)
“MOVE FASTER DAMMIT.” Their commander has been shouting to night’s watch. One of the grishas grabbed a man running towards the gate. “Where are these coming from—wh-what—“
“from where you’d kept the bodies—but they’re more in numbers from before, the gate won’t be able to hold it for much longer. Grab anything you can and help us—” he said gasping of air before running back on his way to hold the gate.
“What are we supposed to do?! We’re heartrenders” the looked at Ivan helplessly.
“Grab a spear.” Ivan said searching for the general in the crowd.
“We’ve never wielded one.” One of the said terrified of what was out there.
“Well wield one now!” Ivan said frustrated.
Where y/n had already changed the boots and off to join the rest of the night’s watch to hold the gate.
“Where’s the general—“ the grishas asked scared holding the spear in a wrong manner, unprepared.
There were new loud bangings from the side door which might break soon enough.
“Y/n! find the general.” Ivan said as he lead the grishas to the side.
“What?! NO- I CAN FIGHT THEM-SEND SOMEONE ESLE TO FIND HIM.” She said loud enough that Ivan could hear between everyone else shouting and curing.
“JUST DO AS I SAY!” Ivan shouted back from the other end.
“BUT—“
“WE WILL HANDLE IT HERE! Y/N. GENERAL. NOW.”
“OKAY-“ she said and ran off to the wooden stairs running through different chambers to find the general.
General was on the other side of the castle chambers. Y/n ran poking through chambers before turning to the other wing she heard strange voices, like cracking of ice from the edge of the chamber. It sounded like ice cracking down but was louder and strange. White Walkers.
She hurried to that room to find the general trying to strangle the white Walker from his shadows which went right through it. General had never seen anything like this before. No matter how hard he’d struck the creature it would stay unharmed, taking a step towards him each time. Until he was too close while y/n couldn’t reach him from the side of the door. She inhaled deeply, bringing her hands together producing flames, which evolved larger. Though not large enough to reach the creature. She groaned using more energy and it finally reached it. As soon as the fire touched the white Walker it fell to the ground with an unpleasant screeching sound. Before it could burn down the castle or the room perhaps the general kicked on it and rolled it of the rug as it burned to ashes.
Y/n was choking on air and leant to the side of the walled for support.
“You alright?” The general asked strolling up to her.
She panted heavily and nodded. “Y-you alright?”
“Yes, breath steady.-“
Y/n nodded in reply again.
General rushed outside and stepped down the stairs looking at hurt men, hurt Grisha and the dead scattered all over the place like autumn leaves. (What a wrong thing to put here wtf)
“What was all that-“ general asked as the night’s watch and their commander gathered around.
“There are no Grisha bodies at the place you’d kept them. It’s empty.” Said their commander.
“You’re saying these were—“
“Yeah and they’d probably marched the Mole’s town first to turn people into them.”
“But none of these look anything like my soldiers.” General said looking around to see if he could recognise any.
“Tell me general kirigan have you ever seen a white Walker in your life before?” Thé commander spat as the general looked around with narrowed brows “are these-attacks often?” Y/n stood awkwardly at that question not trying to meet anyone’s gaze.
“Never had one in about 10 years that to be never here, at hardhorne. But we always ought to burn the dead-most of my men hadn’t even known of one till today.”
“Commander what are we supposed to do with them now-“ One of the stewards asked.
“Is that even a question?! Burn them before they wake up again.”
“Commander it would take us a whole day to get that much wood.”
“You want to wait till night so they can wake up and kill us all?” Their commander said angrily.
“Pile them around we’d see to the rest.” The general said stepping forward. “Miss y/n will see to the rest.” He said pointing at her.
“What?”
“-the same thing you did there inside, to these bodies when they pile up.” Said the general with a shrug.
“It would too much of—“
“Nothing you haven’t trained for already.” He interrupted before she could finish.
They’d finished the burning of bodies. y/n had, to be precise which as she hadn’t been able to mention before took a lot of her energy. General had send Raven back at Ravaka to send a unit of healers and plant tents to meet them halfway there. The rest of them were to leave the castle black that very night and March back. General had called for a camp in the middle to their way back to Ravaka to see to the wounds of this unit.
They had left the castle black past midnight and had been riding ever since. The dawn settled in and sunshine grew brighter as they reached the camp that came from little palace. As everyone stepped down of the horses the healers from tents rushed to help them. None of them looked severely injured, rather traumatised.
Y/n was the last to walk to the camp, she made it halfway through the tents-with each step her vision got more and more blur. Before she could put another foot ahead she fell to the ground and everything turned black by her eyes.
The general was right there turned to side discussing about his further plans with Ivan. Seeing her fall he rushed there and bent to her level, taking her head gently from the ground to his knee.
“Y/n! Miss y/n—“ he kept giving her a gentle shake from his arms rubbing her back to get a response out of her.
“healer.” He told Ivan. “A healer. Here.”

Used to be
Part two here
Darkling x royalwife!reader
Summary: Reader tends to leave after Aleksander grows distant but it gets angsty lol idk how I explain this 😭
Warning: ANGST
Word count: 2k
Aleksandar and y/n had been married for about two years now. Y/n was human and she was raised to a lady like a proper respected house, a known family name. She always knew she was going to be married off like her mother did from one noble house to another just like her mother before her and on and on. What she didn’t knew was it would be a political marriage and she would be married into the grisha’s general to be precise.
Their marriage didn’t turn out to be an exact contactless political marriage. Both of them found each other congenial in no time. It was in a long time Aleksandar felt that way for anyone but it was true. He didn’t knew himself how much he began to cherish being around her. They became inseparable and Y/n had found her everything in her husband likewise for him. They learned and laughed and lived and loved. It was shocking how with everything there is to accomplish one person’s well being is all you care for Alecksandar would think in silence admiring her wife’s beauty, not just beauty the connection he grew with her was more than romantic feelings. He would feel whole around her something he wasn’t familiar with.
Everything seemed to be great…for a while. The “sun summoner” was enrolled, taken moreover to little palace and everything changed. Y/n got along with Alina at start but thing started become more and more obscure and heavy with Aleksandar. At first it was a few lesser glances with her husband but then he seemed to have disappeared from her life staying in the same palace. He wouldn’t sleep in their shared chambers, barely even met her let alone conversing, everyday started to feel like being on the battleground against a whole army. Y/n was raised to become a “lady” she wasn’t going to confront Aleksandar. That was all she hoped to do now that the past few months everything felt like crumbling to pieces. Everything went to hell with a blink of an eye and y/n didn’t even realise how?
Everything she used to find comfort in felt exhausting, knowing she was doing the things she enjoys to fill the void and the constant pressure to do so would just result in failure of that happening.
It didn’t get any better even with fortnights passing. Aleksander was the same with everyone else as he had been before but just her. Only her he’d ignore like an unnoticeable nuisance of some sort each time y/n would try to get close with him the way they used to be. Y/n didn’t have anything against Alina, not even once. But it just gave her this colossal pain in her heart watching her husband laugh the way he used to with her, how they’d both go on rides and stay up late. It was all coming back in heart shattering memories because he wasn’t doing all that with her anymore.
Y/n got along with Alina with no other intention but of making a friend. Both of them seemed to be in a position of needing one but Aleksandar refrained her from talking to Alina. He explained that Alina should rather prefer “grisha” company if she was to settle amongst them. Each day there would be a new low. How much till one breaks? Y/n sure was close. Aleksander “asked” her to not join the dinners because he had pressing war discussions going on with everyone-everyone as in everyone who’s a grisha. Another stab into the heart.
That’s when y/n seemed to have reached the bottom. She didn’t knew why he was behaving like this firstly.
Frustrated of everything y/n wrote a letter back home not being distinct of details she simply stated in the letter to her family about how she wants to return. Concerned for the only daughter of their noble house her family sent back men to Little palace from their army to get her back. Things took an ugly turn after that. The troop of human army her family sent had to conspire go get into the little palace since they weren’t grishas. However they were caught and it didn’t turn out as great for either of them. Y/n was unaware of anyone even coming for her in the first place. What Aleksander was reported about was that a few men invaded little place to which he had them sentenced to death considering he had a sun summoner on his hands, he couldn’t be foolish enough to spare them. If he had known the Royal troop was sent from his in-laws his decision would’ve differed—but he didn’t.
Finding out what had happened y/n was shattered. She couldn’t believe she lured men from her own army, men she would’ve known into slaughter. She felt huge grief, regret, rage, shock but most of all fear. She feared what Aleksander was going to do with her now. He wasn’t the same Aleksander now anyways and she feared what he might do out of anger, to her.
Aleksander stormed into their room with loud footsteps y/n heard even before he entered. It made her stomach twist with the uneasy feeling of knowing what was coming wasn’t going to be pleasant.
Aleksander slammed the door open entering, he looked at her weary face and Y/e/c eyes staring back him in fear most likely. He calmed himself avoiding any outbursts from his side and began with a flat voice “Did you know?”
“I did.” Y/n said in even softer voice not looking back at him. She knew lying wouldn’t help partially aware not to provoke him.
“Did you plan on letting me know you were inviting armies to invade little palace?” he asked her sharply.
“I didn’t intend to have them invade little pal—“
“You called them to have a play date then?” He remarked jumping down her throat.
Y/n stood silent unable to response, unable to think of a response.
“We have far more pressing matters going on, with miss starkov-the war and now is when you pick to play a little charade?” He said gritting his teeth.
“I wasn’t-it’s—they’re not alive anymore thanks to you then how does it matter?” Y/n responded fiercely, knowing it took everything in her to talk back to him.
“How does it matter?” Aleksander stepped forward and confined with a high pitched voice “Someone else could've gotten killed, gotten hurt!”
“Nobody else hurt-killed? Nobody but the men from the human army. Men who were just following orders” y/n said putting emphasis on human refereeing to everything Aleksander suggested her to be attained from because of. “Tell me did you even bother to know their names before you butchered them?”
“Careful there, none of it would’ve happened if you informed me about it.” He replied with a smug tone.
“They were just coming to take me back home not to start a battle!” She said as a single ball of tear started to form in her eyes.
“Take you home? What for?” That came to Aleksander as a surprise he wasn’t aware at the slightest the reason the army came called upon by y/n and why?
“Because I want to—I wrote to *insert your castle/palace name* informing that I want to.”
“-Why?”
“I don’t want to stay here. That’s why”
“Is this about your complains with Alina again? I have the country at war, the sun summoner and the shadow fold and you want to go home at an inconvenience?!” He said raising he voice which made y/n flinch.
“It’s not an inconvenience-I don’t want to stay around here anymore just how you don’t want to stay around me.” This time tears were brimming down her eyes but y/n showed no sign of acknowledging that.
“What are you talking about?” Aleksander asked raising a brow.
“Oh don’t you know? How you don’t sleep in our chambers anymore—how I’m not allowed to talk to Alina or join dinner at the hall. F-for months now!” she said brushing off the tears from her cheeks with new ones flowing without her knowing.
“We’ve been married for two years and you want to go back running back home for that?” Aleksander shot back slyly.
“It’s not just that—you would know how it feels if you were in my place!”
“—I would very much so choose to react maturely.”
“You abandoned me! Y-you’re the general the entire day you forgot to be Aleksander!” Y/n spat strolling towards him unafraid to reply with him on any and the quality of words she chose.
“I never abandoned you—I chose to prioritise a better future for the both of us and you couldn’t make out that difference!” He yelled banging his fist to the side on the table loosing the patience he had.
“For us?!” Y/n chuckled ironically and continued with glossy eyes with more tears that were forming “I—I never wanted this marriage-but I was a damned fool to have started to want it, want you-and I loved you but yo—“
“It doesn’t look like you do-not right now it isn’t let alone if you ever did.” He scoffed undermining what she’d say helplessly in between sobs.
“I have loved you!” Unknown of how to be heard she gave his chest a push from her hands though he stood unmoved,”You don’t get to say that—I have loved you. I can’t keep trying and trying anymore knowing you never loved me and you never would-you’re not capable of that. You’re not capable to love anyone but yourself!”
Aleksander felt felt something shift in him with what y/n said, he grabbed her by her biceps tightly pushing her against the nearest wall breathing sharply against her skin. He tightened his grip by his fingers making her wince “You’re hurting me-“ she said softly not looking up at him but constantly trying to get away from his hold.
He titled her chin forcing he to face him and began. “You are the one who doesn’t get to say that-I have loved you since the day I laid my eyes on you and I tend to do till my last! My only weakness that has ever been is loosing you and I will not have it done by my own hands. You can cry and hate me, be petty for a few days but you’re not going away from my sight little dove.” Y/n pushed him away proceeding to stand away from him and looked at him in disbelief shaking her head.
“No—I want to go home.” She said firmly wiping her tears again.
“You can’t and you won’t.” Aleksander scowled back.
“But I do not wish to—“
“I’ve had about enough of this y/n you’re not leaving little palace and so aren’t your letters.” Aleksander said stiffly walking out of the door not waiting to hear her response.
Y/n stood there again crying in the huge chamber alone yet again, unsure to make sense of one more thing she was restricted of.

“I am awake”
Darkling x reader
Summary: The “one bed” trope with the usual cringe fluff I always write :)
Word count: 2.6k
One shot
The general had to go for a rescue mission on about the grishas all the way to fjerdan from Ravaka. Of course they did rescue them without getting anyone hurt but y/n and him were separated from the rest of them on their way out.
Y/n was a tailor and almost made it out alive since she couldn’t fight off the drüskelles. General stepped in and fled there, but neither of them could contact with the rest of the grishas they were with. Not that any of them wouldn’t be able to protect themselves or get back to Ravaka. But it was hard for general himself, he had the most recognisable face being the general and he had y/n holding him down since she couldn’t fight if it came to that. He didn’t mind that-he was the general after all and was ought to protect his own wether could fight or not. He had y/n tailor his face to look different and mix with the one of a commoner or anyone that wouldn’t make him look “him” after all fjerdan.
Y/n did as he said, yet better. She made his face look like an old man’s, tailored his hair grey, wrinkles by the edge of his skin. By the time she was done general was despised by what she did to his face but there was nothing he could of about it.
“I know you’re enjoying this” he said after she tailored him to look like a man in his 80s.
She gave him a smirk knotting his hand in hers making it look like she’s helping the old man walk by the streets of fjerdan as they walked to a lodge. “Stop complaining”
-
It was evening by the time they reached a place to stay in. As the settled into their room the first thing alecksandar did was wash off all of the tailoring y/n had done to his face while she was writing letters by the desk to send some back to little palace to inform where they are, and to know if the others had gotten there. The general told y/n on their war that they were to leave once they got a word back that the others reached back safe.
Y/n looked up at him from writing as he walked out after washing off her tailoring. “General!” She said with an annoyed tone.
“Alecksandar y/n! Alecksandar.” He reminded her. Not everyone called the general alecksandar but he did have a few exceptions.
“Right-alecksandar. What did you do?”
“What?”
“You-you changed you face, that took me a lot of effort.” She said standing up from her place.
“Oh-I’m sure you can do it again and it looked ridiculous on me.” He said with a huff.
“You know how we’re staying at this lodge right?” She said with her head down back at the letters she was writing.
“I cannot imagine how they bought it? Me? Your father? Have you even looked at my posture?” He said standing smug.
“Alright-not to pull any strings or anything but you do realise that you would be older than my father right?” She joked trying not to laugh to which Alecksandar shot back an expression that looked like he didn’t appreciate her sarcasm.
“Apologies.” She said slightly chuckling to herself about her own joke and she stood up binding the letters she wrote that were ready to send. “Now that you look like the head of Grisha at little palace again, you stay here while I send these letters hmm?” She said walking to the door.
“Wait-are you sure you’ll be safe?” He asked worriedly.
“I can’t fight but do you really take me to be that stupid that I would walk in the streets of fjerdan with shouting “greetings folks I am a Grisha!” She said with a reassuring tone. “I’ll be fine, just don’t leave here..”
“I know you won’t do that but I can’t assure you about the stupid part.” He said shrugging with a playful smirk.
“Very mature.” Y/n said narrowing her eyes and locked the door behind her as she left while alecksandar waited.
By the time y/n came back it was almost dinner time. She roamed around and also brought back dinner for alecksandar.
“That’s-more of a supper but it’s the best I could manage here.” She said handing him the food.
“What about you?” He asked.
“Oh I ate on my way here.” She said hanging her coat.
“Wait-but how did you pay?” He asked confused.
“Do you really want to know that?”
“You concern me sometimes” he said with a weird expression.
Quite a few time went by, y/n looked through the curtains down to the hustle of the streets. Thinking how long would it take for the letters to reach? How long till the letters return and they’d go back home? She was lost in the thoughts as alecksandar spoke from behind.
“Do you intend to stare outside the whole night?”
Y/n rolled her eyes and turned to him sitting by the lamp side on the bed.
“I’m gonna head to sleep soon enough” he told her.
“Oh alright-“ y/n said and took a sheet from the cupboard and started placing it on the floor making a rectangle placement.
“What are you doing?” Alecksandar asked blankly.
“You said you wanted to sleep.” Y/n said looking up at him before continuing.
“I’m sleeping here.” He said pointing by the bed he was sitting on.
“No, I’m sleeping on the bed-here-“ she said to the bed sheet she placed on the floor. “You can sleep here.” Y/n said standing up.
“What? No-I’m not sleeping there.”
“The bed isn’t big enough for the two of us.” Y/n said.
“It’s not big but surely it can fit the both of us.”
“Come on-it’s tiny I need my space.”
“Your space? You do realise that you’re a foot shorter than me right?” He said laughing to his own joke.
“Ouch. And no I need much as space as you do.” She replied sternly.
“We can both adjust here come on.” Alecksandar said patting to the side.
“It’s just as good down here Alecksandar come on.” Y/n said trying to sound convincing.
“Do you feel shy sleeping beside me?” He asked with a boyish grin on his face.
“Of course not.” She said sternly.
“I promise I won’t bite.” He said with a smirk knowing it’d make her blush differently.
She narrowed her eyes trying best not to show her inner self which turned red as a tomato not show. “Like I said it’s just as comfortable here-“
“Well then you can be all comfortable down there.” He cut her off.
“What a true gentleman you are!” She said sarcastically and proceeded to sleep by the floor.
He laid down on the bed, moved to side of the floor where y/n was sleeping and poked his head from the bed. “I do am a gentleman, you’re the one who chose to sleep there because you don’t want to sleep next to me.” He said putting emphasis on next to me.
Y/n huffed in response and pushed his face back to the bed “good night alecksandar.”
Night didn’t seem to pass as y/n kept turning from side to side on the floor. Out of pride she didn’t want to admit to want to sleep on the bed. But the floor was colder than she’d thought and the surface was just as hard to sleep on. Half an hours passed with y/n turning from side to side, groaning and cursing under her breath trying to sleep.
Alecksandar finally sighed and turned on the table lamp. “I can hear you struggling to sleep from here.” He said walking up to her.
Y/n didn’t reply to him though wide awake she had her eyes shut, facing the other side.
“Y/n?” He asked again she didn’t reply yet again.
“Pretending to be asleep? Y/n seriously how old are you?” He said and gave her a gentle shake by her shoulder.
“Ugh you’re not letting me sleep.” She lied with a fake low voice as if she had really been asleep.
“I know you can’t sleep down there, it’s even too cold just come up I will literally move aside.” He said with a calm voice.
Y/n didn’t reply again. As much as she wanted to sleep on the bed she was too stubborn to admit she was wrong.
“Y/n!” He said with an annoyed huff patting her shoulder again as she kept on with the charade of being asleep.
“This is so childish-as much of a gentleman I am I can’t let you shiver on the floor like that whilst I sleep so I am going to count to three and you can wrap up this act and come sleep here, or I will carry you to bed myself” he said firmly, y/n obviously took his threat as a bluff.
“I’m not kidding y/n”
As if thought y/n.
“1...2...3.....” he hesitated while y/n was sure he didn’t really mean the threat he imposed or so she thought.
“That’s it-act like a child get treated like a child.” He said and towered her proceeding to carry her himself and she sat up quickly. “I’m awake, I’m awake!” She said hurriedly.
“Good. Off to bed-“ he said standing tall looking down at her on the floor.
Y/n sighed dramatically and began “only because you insisted.” Y/n said even though she was more than glad to get off of the floor.
“You were having a great time down there right?” He remarked.
They settled on the bed keeping slight distance from their arms touching and alecksandar broke the silence “You know miss y/l/n I’m not sure about the “I won’t bite” promise now please sleep safe.” He made a lousy comment again.
Y/n made a disgusted sound and faced the other side.
Y/n ans alecksandar both were fast asleep after that. Though by the dawn they were both very repositioned. Even though the bed was small for both of them to sleep they had managed, snuggled closer. None of them realised that during the night that they were almost hugging each other the whole night but neither of them was to notice as they were sound asleep and the cold helped there.
Y/n was on the edge of the bed where she would almost fall if alecksandar’s hand wasn’t around supporting her torso from not rolling off the bed. None of them were awake yet but alecksandar took his arm off of her unknowingly and y/n fell on the floor right that moment. The height from bed to the floor wasnt much high but falling hard on the ground in the middle of the sleep made y/n open her eyes in an instant and then the pain of hitting the hard floor hit making her screech as she did just wake up and wasn’t in her senses yet, she assumed they had been attacked.
Alecksandar was alarmed by her cry and sat up straight instantly looking to the side finding y/n absent as she nudged her head from the floor.
“Y/n?” He asked confused.
By then she has realised she fell. “Ow-“ she whimpered sitting straight on her back “did you push me?”
“What? Of course not!”
“Ouch.” She said shooting back a disappointed look.
“I didn’t push you! You sleep in the most strangest positions possible. In fact Last night—I was the one who dragged you back whenever you were about to fall. Four times you would’ve fallen on your head.”
“Oh? I-that’s—thanks? You could’ve told me to wake up.”
“You looked really calm to be disturbed in your sleep. Besides after the fourth time I was annoyed so I caged you by my arms, so you won’t fall but I must’ve shifted just now resulting that...” he said holding back a laugh.
Y/n sighed and stood up “Go on you can laugh.”
“It is very poor to laugh at one’s condition” he said still willing to laugh.
“How very polite of you.”
Alecksandar and y/n stayed there for a few days until they got the letters came from little palace resulting in them returning back as the letters confirmed the safety of everyone who went to fjerdan returning home.
They had the same routine each day. The same meals. The same chamber in a damp building away from home. Though none of them wanted to leave, it felt homely around one another. They grew closer to each other, they would be together the whole day but never ran out to things to share. Y/n thought she had found a really close friend in alecksandar. She did think about him the other way but that felt foolish and she knew they weren’t going to stay here forever and however close they are he is the general and she’s a tailor who doesn’t even know how to fight. Back at little palace he would surely come across so many like y/n she thought and forced herself to see him as a friend.
Alecksandar on the other hand thought about her in everything opposite than she’d assumed. He liked her. He grew fond of her. On their last day when y/n was relieved to leave he felt moreover sad that he won’t get to share her all for himself or at all when they get back back.
Y/n had tailored him back to what he looked like the first day when they entered the lodge. An old man. Alecksandar hated it yet again but seeing how funny she’d find doing that. Watching her chuckling under her breath and her face was close to his. It made him feel different kind of nice-gave him butterflies.
They did reach back to little palace unharmed. Everyone was pleased to see the general while he was embarrassed of how he looked with the tailoring y/n did while she enjoyed every second of it. He talked to Ivan about some matters, have a few nods around greeting people and walked straight to his chambers.
He has called for y/n once he was alone there. He said he wanted her to change his face back. Strange she thought. Since he could have done it the same way he did the first time.
When she asked the same thing to him he replied “I rather wished to see the infamous Miss I cant fight but I tailor very well y/l/n work one more time.” with a boyish grin spread across his face.
“Right.” She sighed with a giggle to his joke she had now been very use to.
When she finished her face was closer to his again and she said “That’s it-“ while both of them stared into each other eyes and none of them seemed to pull away. All of the deep conversations, the stupid jokes they made, the meals they had together started to hit them. Alecksandar leaned forward and y/n placed her lips onto his but broke the kiss right after thinking she did something wrong. Alecksandar stood from his place and brought her closet by cupping her cheeks and kissed her hungrily again.
After a while they both looked at each other with wide smiles and comfortable silence and alecksandar spoke “I’ve wanted to do that for so long.”
