yeah. that's the only thing I can think of when I see the way the cats on the tyre react to the WOO-WOOO!! of the kittens' train whistle in Skimble's number.

even though Tugger was already in Maximum Sprawl he still managed to fall over backwards.

Favorite Cats Vienna Moment?

My dear this is *shamefully* late--I can only blame needing to think about this (because it's an important question!) and then also travel and jet lag and I'm sorryyyy! Thank you so much for this Ask!

One of the aspects of the Vienna production I love SO MUCH is the relationship between Tugger and Munkustrap. They play off each other in so many fun ways. When Tugger appears during "Old Deuteronomy" Munkustrap reacts with *pleased surprise*, but not hostility. Both Dominik Hees and Alex Auler are touchy and affectionate and playful with each other but Alex Snova take it up even another notch. The last show Alex Snova was on stage was June 22 (2022) and he was playing Tugger. Just look at these soft boys!

Munkustrap invites Tugger down, he accepts -- they hold hands - they cling- they gently touch each other's faces 😭

BUT this isn't enough, clearly. Since Tugger and Munkustrap are not "allowed" to be in the Jellicle Ball 🙄 clearly this is a moment for a big hug! 🥺

And my favorite favorite blocking -- during Skimbleshanks

What if we put our arms around each other? What if we tangoed up the stage together?

Of course then then need to sprawl next to each other and playful tease at each other before getting up to join the train!

However you headcanon the specifics of their relationship, it's obviously a close and affectionate one and I love it so much!!

Hello and good morning/afternoon/evening! I hope you're having a wonderful day. I consider myself kinda a new fan of Cats (I've slowly become obsessed with it since the beginning of the pandemic) and I've been enjoying the posts of the fandom here in Tumblr.

I really, really like Munkustrap and my first fav actor of him is Michael Gruber. But then I started to dwell in the Munk actors pit hole and I fell in love with Alexander Auler's & Jack Rebaldi's portrayals of him. It caught my eye with how tall they looked from the rest of the cast. I found out on the internet that Alex Auler is around 193 cm-ish..? but I cannot seem to find out about how tall Jack Rebaldi was when he played Munkustrap. I was wondering if maybe you know his height as Munks? I'm really curious after seeing so many gifs, pics, and vids of him towering over everybody lol

There's not much information available regarding Jack Rebaldi's official height measurements. The closest I can find is a fan account that met him that mentions he's "six foot" (182-ish cm). I would theorize then it's safe to say he's at least 182cm, though I cannot be more accurate than that, I'm afraid.

If you're looking for tall Munks that heights are confirmed, Ivan Ozhogin clocks in at 193 cm as well.

Hi! So (as you may have noticed...) I'm rewatching Cats 1998, and I was wondering whether you had gifs of Aulerstrap that I could compare to Gruberstrap? (Aulerstrap reminds me of him SO MUCH.)

So I thought I had actually posted this a few days ago, and then it turns out that I absolutely had not. AND I can't even find the draft for this post. SO TRYING AGAIN.

Posting gifs of Alex Auler? What a lovely task! (Also I adore Michael Gruber and his beautiful Munkustrap so, so much. Still my favorite/shares for favorite Munkustrap)

alright i am slooowly making my way through cats the musical (i can't sit and watch it in one go) but munkustrap is a crush and i literally have to pause every time he's on the screen to make an "aaawww" sound

absolutely.

Michael Munkustrap Gruber is fantastic and we all love him. I think he might be my favourite Munkustrap HE'S SO GREAT

but honestly I relate very much. I did the same with Cassandra
