‘Dead Ringers’ Episode 2 Recap: Hell Is Other People
How good is Dead Ringers the TV show? I’ll tell you how good it is: While watching this second episode of the show, the first comparisons that sprang to my mind were Mad Men and The Terror. The two shows with the most precise, lacerating dialogue and character work in the past 15 years? Two shows obsessed with class, status, and the creation and severing of intimacy? Two shows with absurdly…

She was So Sad. So Profoundly Unloved. Always said no one really noticed her. Which was why she was such a Tremendous Nutjob – trying so bloody hard to get noticed. And then here she is. Dead and she’s a real Hit.

What scene from Conversations With Friends are you most excited for?
wow, you see my mind went blank right at the moment I read this question . before that I was only thinking about cwf.
if you asked me months ago I'd say when they were talking by the lake and Bobbi went skinny dipping.
but today. right now. I'm the most excited for the scene where nick's laughing at himself and his eyes are wet. Frances tells him she is ok . which ends up in let's just be very happy from now.(the bathtub scene)
of course the lake scene.
when Frances and Philip watch nick's play.
the time when Frances realizes that she is not pregnant .
nick sings with mel (what a scene!)
when nick tells Bobbi nervously about Frances.
when Mel is being a bitch *specifically the talk*
when nick tells all about last year.
when Bobbi is being jealous 😁
when Frances calls out Valerie
Bobbi yells about the story
Frances gets recognized as a writer!!!!!!!!!!
also very very excited for the ending when he forgets about peppers, tells her how forgetting her , even the idea of it , was horrifying, they both talk about all the things gone wrong.....
yeah . ( I feel like I am forgetting a lot)
OH !OH!!!!!! OH! HOO!!!!!!!
when they can't help but smile at each other! in the book reading event.
what are you excited for?

The Ministry of Time coming to the BBC
The Ministry of Time coming to the BBC
The BBC has announced it is to adapt Kaliane Bradley’s debut novel The Ministry of Time. Alice Birch (Normal People, The End We Start From, Dead Ringers) is adapting the six-part series. Remarkably, this debut novel has yet to be published, but you can pre-order. Here’s the synopsis: The Ministry of Time, a newly established government department, is gathering ‘expats’ from across history in an…

The End We Start From (15): A Wonderful Cast Brings Life to a Soggy Apocalypse.
#OneMannsMovies #film review of "The End We Start From". #TheEndWeStartFrom. A soggy apocalype with a great cast, led by the peerless Jodie Comer. 4/5.
A One Mann’s Movies Film Review of “The End We Start From” (2024). I’ve commented in recent reviews about the sad demise of some of our acting legends, with the passing of the likes of the great Dames Diana Rigg and Glenda Jackson. But the shoots of a future British movie acting legend are there for all to see in the films of Jodie Comer. For she has greatly impressed me in all of her recent…

Dead Ringers (2023)
The story of twin sisters who strive to have their dream fertility clinic. One's on the straight and narrow while the other is a bit kooky in this light hearted mini series.
Kidding, it's a messed up thriller based off a David Cronenberg film.
Rachel Weisz is brilliant as twin sisters Beverly and Elliot Mantle, watching her interact with herself as two strikingly different characters is great. Just great performances all around and a plot that's both poignant and darkly comedic. 4/5
