an alien purpled design since i got back into mcyt.
more under the cut
—4 antennae. two are for sending chemical signals and two are for receiving chemical signals.
—a very sharp teeth filled mouth. using the mouth is seen as a sign of aggression, hence the chemical signals. eating and biting are the only two uses of it.
—in order to communicate with those who can not detect the signals, he has a voice synthesizer which translates noises into words.
—spiked ears. honestly i just thought they looked cool but they serve some sort of purpose (as in he can hear from farther away).
—third eye. this one doesn't have to look in the same direction as the other two, meaning he can see left and right at the same time.
—the spots on his face and ears change color depending on mood. the base (for him, at least) is purple, but it can shift to light blues or orangish reds at the max.
—below the collarbone begins a network of chitin and phosphate plates with a very soft and easy to tear under-skin. the plates protect the skin, which is the primary method of breathing for him. they can be removed without causing harm, but they will grow back over the course of a few years. (also molts new plates every two years if they've fully developed).
——purpled has removed the plates on his arms and legs, as well as the plate over his abdomen, for ease of movement. its a pretty common practice for fighters of his species.
