Miedo is a terrornox (also known as a war skunk) who, as a former soldier, escaped his war-torn home planet.
He is a shy, hopeless romantic, looking for a fresh start in the vast galaxy, but his noxious stench makes it tough for him to form meaningful relationships. 馃Θ馃拹

On the left, an older caretaker from some island culture. Sleepy babies get to hold on the adult's piercings. The ones too young get a ride in the basket.
On the right, an egg arch (a reproductive leader) of a coastal culture. The babies on their neck don't have the balance to walk but might not be so sleepy. Unlike the caretaker the arch carries their own children. They make great accessories but being your parent's keychains is also a good exercise, experts say.
Climbing on big uniimas is natural to a baby. Since uniima are evolved to be arboreal, it's better they can climb and grip as soon as possible. Their giant heads make it easy to hold their full weight on their jaws.
Before becoming a parent or a caretaker, one needs to realize they will also become a tree, a mountain, and a hanger.

Art of one of my old alien spec projects. It is an earth-like planet "Ogninda", a planet of swamps and tropical jungles. Land and sea are full of sluggy critters. Sophonts are called Snulgs, they are silly little slug-critters with big eyes, a prehensile and flexible pad of tissue they use to move and interact with objects, and a twisty mouth at the bottom.

Figure A (below) showcases a typical Contact-Era Twowi Cyclical Pamphlet. Usually released in printings on the first day of each season, the prints consist of a number of stock scenes associated with the season, and a short poem derived from a traditional proverb relating to that segment of the calendar. Generally the poems are commissioned immediately prior to the printings (poorly attested sources may indicate this novelty factor had renewal significance) from specialized artisanal guilds. The printings have been mostly discontinued in latter years but vintage editions are extremely prized among collectors of historical Twowi memorabilia.

Nioqimo Fauna: Tamandua
Tumblr media
Tamandua are small insectivores, descended from the same general clade as drakes. Their forelimbs are reduced to a single large claw on each arm, which the young use to grip onto the parent's back. Adults use them to dig into the nests of insects and other small animals, along with their mandibles. Tamandua have their mandibles covered in a buccal mass, and these "lips" allow them to create a suction to siphon out prey.
Adults have bristling tails of iridescent patterns for attracting mates and stunning predators. When threatened they will rear up and raise their tails and shake them. With the motion, the patterns of the tail help to confuse predators.
