my emotional alisaie lore of the day is the idea that she literally would go sit at aliphinaud’s bedside any down time she got in the stb patches after he got dragged to the first and just kinda sit on the floor w her head on his bed and talk to him n cry sometimes bc she didn’t know what else to do. so her emotions are just at a very constant high during that time period, hence her being so open with her emotions towards the wol bc she’s lowkey spiraling. also why she punches g’raha when he first summons her at such a terrible time, bc all her emotions and fears and frustrations and anger / desperation come out in one fell, violent swoop ☠️

As long as I was in my apartment, I did some rearranging and I’m glad I can get all three portraits in frame like this.  Very proud of my idea to have the jewel between Aliphinaud and Alisaie be split cleanly down the middle with their respective colors.

While we're catering to the whims of the pixies, we learn a couple things: that we dodged a leafy bullet by finding that looking grass, and that this place used to be a kingdom called Voeburt... and both are plot relevant, yay.

Anyway, hi again Feo Ul! We had to call three (3) times to actually summon them and they are correctly mad about it :v but thankfully not for long. And now we're free from the chaos pixies! Though the possessiveness Feo Ul displays here is... concerning. Terrifying, too, but I suppose that's why it works.

I was too slow to catch a screenshot, but the Sibling Energy between Aliphinaud and Alisae in this scene is very powerful with how he casually insulted her and she tried to strangle him for it. It sent me into a laughing fit.

Fog's gone! This whole zone is breathtaking, bright and vibrant colors everywhere, even with the Everlasting Light effect that makes it feel just a little washed out. A high five and hug to the art team for this one!

Modern/College AU has been on my mind after 5.5. I love this trio and all their interactions!! Are Polaroids cliche yet? Alphinaud is the one taking the photo. My hc is that my wol is a photography major hoping to depict the often overlooked parts of peoples life’s (the echo), G’raha is history major, and Alisae is undecided.

No one could replace the Crystal Exarch, but there was still so much they could try to study and learn. 

Night had fallen. The simple ties that held her hair back were pulled free as Ryne had started to brush her hair, though before she got far Lumi’s hand slipped the brush from her. The bristles slid easily through her hair and the sensation was comforting and Ryne couldn’t help but relax, one leg tucking beneath her as she sat on the edge of her bed. 

“... sometimes I look outside and I’m still surprised at the sight of nightfall. I wonder if it will ever stop feeling like a dream.”

me realizing rev is in fact the kind of person who has like...... a perfume of some kind. probably smth floral? tho i think sometimes if she's been working she's got a little bit of that like. leatherworker smell wwww the tanning stuff. shes p good at keeping it clean but sometimes it lingers

i think she likes fresh bread. probably wouldve eaten it a lot w/her mom before she wound up in the manor, and it wouldve been something she and kas had a lot. it's a comforting smell to her.

WEVISAIE......... the way alisaie and rev both go from sort of like..... having a very specific idealization about each other (rev as alisaies Hero Who Can Do Anything! w/v little recognition of revs real and present insecurities, alisaie as The Person I Must Protect! w/like, a focus not on alisaie the person as much as alisaie Who Needs Her) to still having a bit of the parts of those thoughts that are healthy w/o it being All Consuming (rev still being v much alisaie's hero but an aspect of it is that rev cant always talk but always tries, alisaie can do anything but when she cant rev wants to support her) its like.... good

in terms of npcs, aliphinaud+rev!!! hes always and forever her best friend. without alphinaud its really hard for me to imagine a world where reveli is as okay as she is now. she loves him! they had a bit of a rocky start but by post-arr theyre thick as thieves and would absolutely do anything for hte other. its just good

you know in my excitement to do 5.5 and having estinien back again and heavily involved with the story, i missed this thread that was weaving through the background until i was just rewatching it.

after paglth’lan, when it makes the most sense for estinien to leave (in fact if you speak to him at the airship landing, he’ll say exactly that) the NPCs start making a point of finding reasons for him to stay. as if they’re so well aware of his flightiness that they’re constantly turning around and snatching his hand and making him stay. 

first it’s alisaie, actually asking him to look after aliphinaud and there’s a bit when he’s staring at her for several moments, eyes narrowing, very much aware of what she’s doing and also perhaps some spark of admiration kindling there to see a sister recognizing she can’t help her brother and needing someone else to do it for her. either way, she had him in that moment even knowing, he can’t very well abandon alphinaud.

then when thancred’s conveying krile’s request to speak with estinien, he looks straight at him as though to call him out with a “you will join us, won’t you?” then everyone else is turning to look at him.

and in perfect tsundere fashion when alphinaud is overjoyed to learn that estinien will be joining them for a while longer, following how upset he’d been about arenvald, there’s this pause between those two that gives us a window into estinien’s mind. even if he says he’s going since he knows krile would only chase him down, his true reasons is for alphinaud again. 

all this culminating in his final decision to stay with the scions. realizing this, it makes one of his lines in 5.55 make a lot of sense when he says something along the lines of “i know better than to flee now”.

Whose to say he isn’t? It did mention he was fragmenting for a while near the end. Losing his memories. What if Aliphinaud is Elidibus’s thirst for recognition and intellect. While Alisiae his Elidibus’s willpower and strength? Two young twins who have both been Emissaries at one point in their lives.

The Warrior of Light experiences a moment of weakness.

I’ve been asked before “What’s been the scariest moment of your adventures?” 

It’s usually the exciting answers they want: defeating the dreadwyrm Nidhogg or traversing the World of Darkness or going into the depths of the Palace of the Dead and re-meeting the souls I’ve slain. 

But that’s just it. 

The battles themselves aren’t the “scary” part, it’s what hinges on the battles that frightens the fuck out of me. The price I had to pay to move forward with slay Nidhogg while preserving Estinien. The consequence an entire shard had to pay forevermore in darkness. And those I’ve killed? Meeting them again and remembering that it was either them or myself and having to carry with that every single day. 

Today…

Today is the day I feel the most vulnerable and weak and defeated despite winning not just one but two nations’ liberation. 

I look to Alisae, Aliphinaud, Y’shtola, Urianger, and Thancred, all of them comatose in the beds within the Rising Stones. I imagine them looking at me, disappointed and shaking their heads. “Why haven’t you figured out what’s happened to us yet?” Thancred says in low tones. 

“She hasn’t figured it out yet,” Alphinaud says.

“Can’t. She can’t.” I’m sorry. Y’shtola. I’m only one-

“You said we wouldn’t leave each other.” Alisae, please. “That you wouldn’t abandon me.” 

Please. I’m scared. 

Urianger, usually verbose, says nothing cross-armed. 

In all honesty, I would have preferred the berating compared to the silence mocking me. The shell of my friends like souvenirs of my inner defeat, my failure. 

I, the Warrior of Light, can save nations, stop wars, slay Primals and Ascians, but ask me to save my friends and that’s where I fall short. 

I bend forward in the chair I’m sitting. My chest starts feeling tight and I force myself to breathe. The world is collapsing around me. The room won’t stop spinning. My vision is dimming. I hold myself. Rocking in the chair. Trying to stop the crumbling like a pastry. 

Suddenly, the door opens. Tataru says my name. “We’ve received news from NOAH.’ She finds me sitting pensively on the chair. 

“Oh good,” I say nonchalantly, but smile at Tataru when she hands over the missive. “I’m confident it’ll be one step closer to getting everyone back.” 

The scariest part? 

I don’t know when I’ll stop mustering the courage to go on.
