Okay, since my Bells Hells Pokémon Teams were more popular than I expected:

More Bells Hells Pokémon

Pokémon that didn't make the six slot team cut (or possibly didn't occur to me at the time. There's 1,000+ Pokémon now, so it's harder to remember them all) but I think makes sense for Bells Hells to have. Except Legendaries. That will be a different post.

Chetney

Cubchoo/Beartic- another that Chet would have picked up in the Icelost years, or maybe up near Uthodurn. Cubchoo was a cute little kid Chet took in, and Beartic is kind of werewolf-shaped for a bear

Seedot/Nuzleaf/Shiftry- tree Pokémon, need I say more? Might be shiny for that redder wood coloration

Delibird- for the Santa theme. Also, it can just cart around all the toys Chetney carves in its bag tail

Wyrdeer- more Chirstmas theme, but also just majestic old man vibes too

Drampa- old man vibes and it likes kids, so good for an old toymaker

Stufful- it's kind of a toy. I mean, the Pokémon Go version has a tag on its butt

Bonsly/Sudowoodo- thought it was a tree, was disappointed to find out it was rock, but since it wasn't metal, Chetney decided to keep it

Poochyena/Mightyena- more wolf Pokémon

Orym

Falinks (Shiny)- little soldier guys for the little soldier man. Shiny for less gold, more down to earth colors

Rufflet/Braviary- tough bird Pokémon for a tough little Air Ashari. Might be a Hisuian Braviary if Orym's deal with Nana Morri makes him a warlock

Deerling/Sawsbuck (Spring Form) OR Cherubi/Cherrim- for the cherry blossom aesthetic of Zephrah

Petilil/Liligant (Hisuian)- for the dancing fighter from druid town vibes

Pawniard/Bisharp- more soldier vibes. Does not evolve up to Kingambit unless Orym finally feels like a leader instead of a soldier

Treeko/Grovyle/Sceptile- guys with grass blades and Treeko's a little climber too

Shieldon/Bastiodon- shield Pokémon for our boy with a shield

Buneary/Lopunny- bouncing bunnies for a man who bounces and feels he'd be a were-bunny if he got to choose a were-critter

Fearne

Growlithe/Arcanine- fluffy fire "wolves." All things Fearne loves

Purrloin/Liepard- thieving cats for our thieving faun

Klefki- a Fairy-type that's a bit of a collector, just like Fearne, if more focused than her

Chimchar/Monferno/Infernape- more fire monkeys for Fearne

Pansear/Simisear (Shiny)- more fire monkeys for Fearne. Shiny for Pansear's orange coloration

Sprigatito/Floragato/Meowscrada- tricky grass cats with some fluff

Shroomish/Breloom- for her disregard for the danger of mushrooms and because they're cute

Teddiursa/Ursaring/Ursaluna (Shiny)- Teddiursais small cute and fluffy, and up at Ursaluna there's a moon connection for being lightly Ruidusborn. Shiny for the moss-covered look of Teddiursa and Ursaring. Also Sweet Pea reference?

Budew/Roselia/Roserade- more pretty, poisonous flowers

Salazzle- hot fire mama Pokémon for a hot fire druid with a baby boy/fire monkey

Imogen

Ponyta/Rapidash- more horses for Imogen. Also, Kantonian Rapidash looks better than Galarian (in my opinion)

Raichu (Alolan)- Psychic and Electric-type, need I say more?

Espurr/Meowstic (Female, Shiny)- a Pokémon with psychic control issues as Espurr and a ruthless streak as Meowstic. Shiny for a more pinkish Espurr and yellow-scarfed Meowstic

Cleffa/Clefairy/Clefable- moon Pokémon with psychic powers

Lunatone- more psychic moon Pokémon

Mareep/Flaffy/Ampharos- more Electric-types for Imogen, and also sort of farm-related to reflect her roots

Munna/Munsharna- psychic dream Pokémon with a better aesthetic for Imogen than Drowzee/Hypno

Psyduck- psychic headaches, just like Imogen

Gothita/Gothorita/Gothitelle- another Psychic-type, except this one's aesthetic reminds Imogen of Laudna

Laudna

Zorua/Zoroak (Hisuian)- ghostly Pokémon of the north, fitting for a ghost of Whitestone. Also the cuddliness of Zorua calls to Laudna

Froslass- more northern ice ghosts. And a little witchy too

Vullaby/Mandibuzz- wears bones and Mandibuzz takes care of little vullaby babies/kids

Cubone/Marowak (Alolan)- Cubone mourn their lost mother, like Laudna (maybe?) misses hers. And set it on fire as Marowak for the Fireball spell. Also, bone Pokémon

Sinistea/Polteageist OR Polchageist/Sinistcha- Sinistea line definitely has that Ladies of Whitestone vibe, but Polchageist has the fix-it folklore. Definitely lean more toward Sinsitea line though

Joltik/Galvantula- spiders for Mis Creepy and a little Shocking Grasp electricity

Spinarak/Ariados- more creepy spiders

Phantump/Trevenant (Shiny)- for the tree-like Form of Dread. Shiny for pale wood and red leaves which are Laudna colors

Paras/Parasect- for the mindcontrol by something parasitizing off of them mushrooms, much like how Delilah parasitizes her

Greavard/Houndstone- ghost doggo!

Absol- a "hound" of ill omen, it probably warns Laudna to skip town before the mobs come

FCG

Rotom- ghost in the machine for a soul in a machine. Also, can you imagine it possessing FCG's oven? And the pun for Mow Rotom

Raltz/Kirlia/Gardevoir (Shiny)- empath Pokémon with psychic powers who dislikes conflict. Shiny to match FCG's coat being blue

Klink/Klang/Klinklang- gear Pokémon for the little machine boi

Audino- another Pokémon center helper and healer from the anime

Indeedee (Male)- another empath Pokémon

Bronzor- it's a coin! From the Changebringer!

Iron Valient- robot-like Gardevoir/Gallade mix for a robit that has a Gardevoir

Morpeko- it's cute and switches to a rage mode if it doesn't take care of itself (disregarding game mechanic of constant switch for flavor text of only when not properly fed)

Meltan- little metal buddies for the little metal boi

Ashton

Roggenrola/Boldore/Gigalith- rocks and crystals Pokémon for the rocks and crystals boi

Grotle/Torterra- would receive as a child in Hishari. Turtwig being a Grass-type is a nod to the druidic leanings of Hishari, while Torterra's "tortise with the world on its back" leans a bit more titans as rulers/guardians/makers of the world

Nacli/Naclstack/Garganacl (Shiny)- salty, as Ashton's attitude is sometimes. Also very sandstone strata in looks as a shiny

Sableye- attracted to Ashton's crystal hair and they just never could get rid of it. At least it's good for helping with stealing stuff

Obstagoon- it's one of the punk-est Pokémon aesthetically

Gible/Gabite/Garchomp- bitey dragon landshark, especially now that Ashton can Earth Glide

Great Tusk- ancient, a little earthy, and the predecessor to rolling wheel Pokémon Donphan, which is probably a not unpopular Pokémon in Bassuras

Rhyhorn/Rhydon/Rhyperior- mostly for Rhyhorn's "keep charging forward" attitude that Ashton tries to do emotionally

Deino/Zweilous/Hydreigon (Shiny)- another angry rampager Pokémon. Shiny so it's green like Ashton

hospital food is gross 😭

okay… I should probably start at the beginning

my name is August, I’m N’s travel buddy. he’s probably mentioned me a few times? about a month ago me and my friend Hugh ran into him at Floccesy Ranch, and he said he had some important mission to find a friend of his. I offered to let him travel with us for a bit, and we just kinda ended up sticking together

N doesn’t know this but I know he was the king of team plasma. I was… there at the league that day. I snuck into the castle during all the panic to find my friend’s stolen Purrloin, and ended up watching Reshiram and Zekrom’s fight from behind some rubble. no one really realized I was there

uh, guess that’s not super important, though. fast forward to yesterday, as we were leaving Lentimas Town N told us he was gonna go finish his mission by himself- just as we were about to split ways though we saw Reshiram and its chosen (the two N had been searching for) fly over. they didn’t see us though and we saw them land in a forest a few miles away

we tried to go after them, but by the time we got there the forest was burning and Reshiram was flying away all panicked. I don’t… I don’t know why Reshiram and its trainer would do this, but despite what everyone is saying I don’t think it was on purpose. there’s already a lot of articles online already claiming the hero of truth has gone rogue…

either way… N ended up running into the fire to go save Blake, who I guess he thought might still be inside, and dropped his phone. that’s how I got ahold of it. Keldeo and his friends came by to help me and Hugh fight back against the fire (…did I mention I’m Keldeo’s chosen? it’s um. a long story)

after a while the lack of clean oxygen made me pass out, so now I’m in the hospital. I’m doing relatively better now, though.

I still don’t know where N is. or where Blake and Reshiram are.

I woke up to Nyx at my window this morning… she says N told her to go back for me. I guess I’m taking care of her until I find out where he is

the forest fire had been contained at least, the rangers say they should be able to put it out soon

ASH'S 1ST TEAM! (Pokemon Journeys Rewrite)

(All of the genders are simply headcanons or genders I think they would have, unless they are confirmed, like Pikachu for example.)

TEAM:

PIKACHU♂️-Duh.

PURRLOIN♀️-Guys I know it's weird and makes no sense but hear me out-I got the idea thinking about Purrloin and Pokemon Journeys Rewrite stuff I think and I was like "Imagine if Ash caught a Purrloin that was a little brat and yada yada ohmygosh" and so this happened...so, when Ash, Goh, (and Chloe,) head to the Galar region (to visit Sonia and Prof. Magnolia) instead of their food getting stolen by Scorbunny and the Nickits it's instead PURRLOIN and the Nickits! (Pure irony.) Like Scorbunny in the OG ep, Purrloin is covered in soot, except instead it's like, big spots, so Ash kind of gives her the cute nickname "Spots" and may I remind you in the manga he named Pikachu Jean Luc Pikachu so yeah, um, so, same as the original episode, they chase Purrloin and the Nickits, eventually find them, Ash tries to get their food back but Purrloin tries to attack him so the Nickits can get away with their food, but Pikachu comes in and defeats her, and after that like Scorbunny she's butthurt about it, and also like Scorbunny when she's mad she claws at legs or something, (a new version of ankle biter?) and Pikachu makes sure she keeps her attitude in check, (it's ELECTRIC,) but Ash notices how scrawny she is and is all like "Aw, poor guy or gal 😰" and then the food shopkeeper guy comes in, and Purrloin tries to protect the Nickits but gets in trouble, so Ash pulls what Goh did and lies about how Purrloin is his Pokemon to get her out of trouble, and like the OG the shopkeeper explains the backstory of Purrloin, how she's most likely from the Wild Area, and despite the irony, befriended the Nickits and became their leader, and he knew Ash was lying, and then Ash talks to Purrloin about how there's more to stealing, and uhhhhh...they can help....? (I need to rewatch that episode and get ideas) and Purrloin is inspired cause for once someone seemed to understand her, then they leave for the train, and the Nickits help her get to the train like in the OG episode, and clean her up, but instead they come with her, and instead of getting split up, she finds Ash and the crew and gets his attention by the great way she knows how...clawing legs. And then she joins them! Or something. (The Nickits also tag along and come home with them, and get cute little nicknames and accessories to tell them apart, I'm still thinking about them though.) It's kind of an episode to also delve in more on Goh and Chloe starting to realize the bond of Pokemon and how Ash sees it or something, IDK.

SOBBLE♂️-So, uhhhhh, when they go meet Sonia and Prof. Magnolia they also get to meet Leon and his little brother Hop and it's amazing and stuff and don't wanna spoil too much, but anyways, the Pokemon Leon is taking care of (not gonna spoil either) escape and run off, so they split up to find them, and Ash finds Sobble, who keeps on hiding and turning invisible, so Ash tries to talk to Sobble, and realizes to be patient, so he acts calmly and waits for Sobble, who is finally able to come out, and despite their bashful nature, feels reassured by how understanding he was, and uhhhhhhhh yada yada Sobble decides to come with Ash and Leon allows it (how do I not spoil this?)

ROOKIDEE♂️-So, not gonna try to spoil too much, but Goh and this Pokemon he befriended get attacked by this Rookidee, so Ash comes in with Pikachu, Purrloin, and Sobble ready to battle...but Rookidee is easily able to intimidate Sobble, slams into Purrloin before she can claw him, and flies away before Pikachu can zap him into oblivion. Sobble feels bad for getting scared so easily and letting Purrloin get beat up and the Rookidee, and Ash and his team try to reassure him...Purrloin's way of reassuring him BTW is encouraging him to beat Rookidee to a pulp next time he sees them. So, Rookidee comes back, cause they're...kind of a show-off and bully sort of...and they toy around with Pikachu and then proceed to scare Sobble yet again, but Purrloin yet again comes in and tries to get back at Rookidee and to protect Sobble, (she kinda has a bit of a soft spot for him, but still kinda teasing towards him at times, she's like...a big sister towards Sobble,) but Rookidee flies around with her on him, (like Pikachu and Latios,) gets her dizzy, and then shakes her easily off, (+fall damage) and while Ash and Pikachu check on her, Sobble has enough and steps in, although realistically he's still scared, but Pikachu and Ash cheer him on, so Sobble is a bit more encouraged, and tries to be brave for them, and so, he blasts Rookidee with a bug Water Gun, slowing Rookidee down, soaking their feathers, and driving them to the ground. Rookidee takes it personal and in a drive of anger, tries to finish off Sobble right there, but Sobble smacks him with their tail, and blasts yet another powerful Water Gun, slamming them into the tree. Weakened, Ash is proud of Sobble, and the team congratulates him, but is also genuinley impressed by Rookidee, and catches him.

SCORBUNNY (SHINY)♂️-LOOK I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE THINKING BUT DON'T WORRY GOH STILL HAS HIS SCORBUNNY AND I KNOW IT'S A SHINY but there's an important storyline following this capture and I don't want to spoil it but let's just say it's sad and similar to Litten and Stoutland

EGG--->TOXEL♀️-Like the games, Ash gets an egg from the nursery that hatches into this little gal. A joke is that after Toxel hatches, Prof. Cerise is like "This Toxel's a girl! 🙂" and Ash is all like "WHAAAAATTTT" along with the rest of the team. So, Toxel is basically the most calm on the team. Like, the whole team will be fighting and she'll be napping off. However, this can also lead to her seeming lazy most of time, but thanks to her training, she can actually be a really helpful member.

SO, UH, GONNA UPDATE ON THIS WITH THEIR PERSONALITIES, RELATIONSHIPS WITH EACH OTHER, ETC.

[Driftveil City is big and bright and noisy. There are textures everywhere, and colors and so many people, and even through the buildings the sky seems endless.

It’s overwhelming. Terrifying, even.

Anthea can’t stop looking.

She’s on the bus. Concordia is next to her and a dozen Plasma grunts surround them and Campfire Smoke is curled on her lap wearing a Purrloin’s shape, still as stone except for the occasional ear-twitch when the grunts arguing softly behind them mention N.

Part of her thinks she ought to be panicking. In the space of a few days, her whole world has been turned upside down—N left and Ghetsis is missing, Team Plasma has fallen into chaos without them, all of Unova has its eyes on them, and she's been on hot, uncomfortable public transit for hours on the way to the safehouse where they’ll be hiding.

But at the same time…Ghetsis lost. N has finally—finally—seen through his lies. And for the first time in fifteen years, she’s out of the castle.

It’s so bright here, in this city that’s big enough to swallow her dusty memories of Floccesy Town a thousand times over. Everywhere she looks, there are people and Pokemon just…living. Together.

The bus crests a hill, and Anthea gasps as the ocean comes into view. For a moment, the view is unobstructed. Past the city, water and sky stretch onwards, as vast and glittering as hope.]

i made pokemon teams for like almost every carmen sandiego character

started making these like a month ago bc i thought it’d be fun. went with no legends, no repeats on one team. teams + my explanations for them under the cut.

carmen’s team:

ampharos

weavile

i’d imagine ampharos was her first pokemon, because… black sheep. blaziken fits the red, plus it and quaquaval remind me of how carmen fights. thievul, whimsicott, and weavile are all because.. thief. also, i tried choosing pokemon from a wide range of regions for her.

giving her a near-mono ghost type team wasnt what i thought i’d do, but i actually think it fits with her focus on history. purrloin because i absolutely believe she has a pet cat, runerigus and golett especially to fit in with her interest in history. i also don’t imagine her as being much of a battler.

all are shiny- i thought it’d be fun to make her a shiny hunter, specifically for these since all of them are gold shinies.

I've seen everyone going this for @girlymatsu 's pokemon au so I'm joining in, I'm a huge fan of pokemon and wanna contribute with my ocs

So here are the Kobayashi twins, Aki and Akira

Akira doesn't appear a whole lot in the canon universe, only occasionally making an appearance for special occasions. But in the Pokemon Au him and Aki would see eachother much more often.

Aki would be a retired champion, having reached her peak at a young age and now she doesn't know what she wants to do with her life anymore. So she's trying to find a new path in life to take. Her pokemom are all fully evolved and hard hitters, with the exception of her Purrloin who she nicknamed Reginald.

Akira meanwhile is akin to a healer, he's not an pokemon nurse but more like a person who lives far off in the middle of a route with his wife and child, and you can stop at his house to rest up after a long journey before continuing your journey for the next town. His team is composed of gentle pokemon that could assist him around the house.

The Kobayashi twins were given a Vulpix and a Growlite each respectively by their father at the start of their pokemon journey, theirs starters have followed them.into their adulthood.

And of coarse there's also Cho

They are a professional pokemon coordinator, and they are much more interested in preforming rather than battling. Their team is composed of pokemon they met along their journey and they first started off their career as a coordinator, including their starter Lopunny which was gifted to them by their grandparents.

Cilan's Plasma team's personalities and origins:

Liepard: The Purrloin that Hugh's grandfather caught for his sister and was promptly stolen by the Shadow Triad not long after. This was the triplets first real 'mission' about a year or two after being taken by Ghetsis, and Cilan was chosen pretty much at complete random to train her. This was framed as a test and, if Cilan could train her properly, without help from his brothers, all the triplets would be allowed to become Pokemon Trainers (the idea of planting them as Gym Leaders wouldn't occur to Ghetsis until much later). If he failed, it was implied they wouldn't be allowed to train Pokemon, period, and that they'd 'have to find some other way to be useful'. Needless to say, the pressure was on for Cilan (who was probably around 8 or 9 at the time) but Purrloin wasn't an idiot and recognized him as one of her kidnappers. Thus began a long and painful process for both of them - Purrloin was frequently stuck in a cat carrier and Cilan had cat scratches on his arms and face, at least, at all times. Eventually peace was sort of made between the two when Cilan, unintentionally and unknowingly, conveyed that he and his brothers were effectively in the exact same situation she was (abducted, made into a tool), and she decided to sort of play nice and... sort of listen to him, which was good enough for Ghetsis (they lost the test battle, but battling skills weren't what were being tested). They sort of bonded after that, although she would still frequently bite and scratch him to keep him on his toes. And if she just feels like it. Also, she'll smack him in the face with her tail if she thinks he's being an idiot about something, which is often. She's the only one allowed to do this, and will enforce this fact. Lilligant better watch herself.

Accelgor: Given to Cilan as a Shelmet after he succeeded in proving his ability to actually train Pokemon, he weirdly seems to consider himself a samurai and follows the code of Bushido - and it's very clear he has no idea what the code of Bushido actually is, since he fights very dirty in battle when Cilan's not directing him, and only his intense, immediate loyalty to Cilan from day one even vaguely resembles a samurai's code of honor. Weirds out his entire team. No one's entirely sure where he came from before he was on the team, he keeps changing his story whenever he's asked (he doesn't remember himself).

Bisharp: As a Pawniard, Bisharp and his fellow Pawniard were captured in the wild by a high-ranking Plasma member (probably one of the Sages) after being sold out by the Bisharp who'd previously led them (...after he was captured and trained by the Sage in question). He was promptly given to Cilan (Chili and Cress's Bisharps came from the same group). He seems to be in robotic solider mode 24/7 and refers to Cilan exclusively as 'Commander'.

Liligant: Ever since she was a Petilil, Liligant has wanted one thing and one thing only - violence. Exactly how Cilan got her is a mystery, even to himself. Everyone on the team fears her sheer bloodlust, except for Liepard, who is trying to figure out Ice Beam just to take her down a peg. If it weren't for her trainer and teammates constantly holding her back, she would water her roots with blood and make mulch from her enemies bones. Where is the Pokemon therapist. What is wrong with her.

Cacturn: The one wholly sane member of the team. Please help him. As a Cacnea his trainer unfortunately traveled to Unova where he was convinced by Team Plasma to release his Pokemon, and was released around the Desert Resort. He was taken in by Team Plasma some time later, and was placed into the Plasma Pokemon Pool, a collection of Pokemon trained by various members of Team Plasma and either loaned out to members for missions, or given to members as rewards (or taken away as punishments). After going through the former a lot of times (enough to evolve) and even the latter once or twice and then taken away from his 'permanent' trainers, he's just sort of waiting to move on to his next trainer. He's a pretty nice guy, although he's pretty serious when he's 'on the job'. I can picture a situation where he's separated from Cilan on the job and goes out of his way to save Axew or Pikachu or someone he was fighting like ten minutes ago when they get knocked off a cliff, because it's not like they're fighting now so why not help out?

“Aldith and Barret, two of the elite grunts, I don’t actually get to interact with them often and I don’t have a lot of memories interacting with me, I think they know I’m Hugh’s younger sister so that’s probably why….

Barret is not used to being around me and is somewhat hostile to Mark, Aldith got used to it enough and is often nice enough to Mark.

I don’t see them very often at all….Barret does come into the infirmary however….

Ghetsis, Team Plasma’s boss, he and Abby are in fairly close contact so I see him quite often, He’s known for being extremely ruthless albeit very apathetic…

He’s also a common infirmary patient so that’s another reason why I see him very commonly, He comes for F2440 and hemophilia shots.

His Hydreigon is my Deino’s father, so Frieden was originally his by a Unovan breeding law.

He looks even annoyed when the subject of my Purrloin’s theft is brought up, Abby later told me it’s because the only reason he remembers it is because Donna and Cletus never shut up about it, Can’t say I blame him….

I even overheard him tell Wesker ‘I wish I never met or known you’….

He also does NOT like my brother, Nate or Rosa, he even makes it very clear neither me or Mark are to assist them except when healing Pokémon, They took Mark out of the Frigate and he started freaking out about it.

Colress, He’s busy most of the time but when I do interact with him, He usually asks me about my brother, Nate or Rosa, He even told me he thought Donna and Cletus’ grudge against me over Frieden and Wesker was ridiculous….I never thought I’d agree with this man…

Rebecca, one of the grunts that befriended Mark was one of the few grunts other than Abby and T.K to a lesser extent I like interacting with, she’s very kind and loves K-pop music.

She has Deino of her own so she has been an excellent help with Frieden, Even Mark’s mom gets on with her…

Alicia, T.K and Abby’s friend is also very helpful, She’s a bit headstrong but she means well.

She actually is responsible for keeping me and Donna and Cletus apart, sometimes this doesn’t always work….

She’s also responsible for Mark alongside Beckie if he’s outside the Plasma Frigate, Ghetsis, Zinzolin and Colress only allowed Mark for a time to be accompanied by female grunts and is only to stay in a female only cabin…

Zinzolin, one of the sages, He’s a cold individual, despite saying he hates snow and ice, He’s got two Cryogonal and a Weavile…which is a bit strange, He gets on very well with Abby, T.K and Mark, He’s also the closest Meili, T.K’s daughter has to an actual grandparent, especially because her actual grandparents are horrible people.

He’s also pretty apathetic towards my brother, Nate and Rosa…

N, Old Plasma’s de facto leader, He used to be Team Plasma’s King during OG Plasma before the split, Abby told me lots about him, He and Mark get on very well.

He’s also very remorseful for Team Plasma stealing Wesker as part of the organization’s very first liberation, Me and him get on well.

Unlike Ghetsis’ ‘I wish I never known or met you’ to Wesker, N does his best to make it up to him, he even helps me with Frieden too, He was a bit shocked seeing Mark on the Frigate and even more shocked at Ghetsis’ near violent protectiveness of him.

He also told me if once I chose Frieden’s nickname, It cannot be changed, It’s because of the law I mentioned.

He also got dismayed at Donna and Cletus refusing to change their opinion of me at all, especially because of his remorse for what happened to me and Hugh….” - Hana

Emmet's Adventures in Babysitting - Ch 10 (Epilogue)

Emmet had to take a second to think back. He looked around at the seven heads around him, each one with a Pokemon containing powers he could not even imagine, all with eager eyes hellbent on one thing and one thing alone: him. How had he even gotten here?

Here's some extra self-indulgent fluff. As a treat <3

Word Count: ~800

THREE MONTHS LATER “Emmet, have you seen Sneasel? We are going to be late.” Ingo whirled around the apartment looking for the Pokemon.

“She’s here,” Emmet responded from the kitchen. She was sitting on the counter, her legs dangling, watching Emmet as he washed the last of the dishes. She had grown a considerable amount and was already going to be a good asset to their team. They didn’t have any fighting types, and other than Garbodor, they didn’t have any poison types, either. She was a mischievous little Pokemon who sometimes liked to cause problems on purpose, like a Purrloin, but she was incredibly cute. She was currently just watching Emmet as Ingo came in and scooped her up.

“There you are, little troublemaker. Would you like to come along and see everyone?” The Sneasel squeaked, climbing up his back and settling along his shoulders. Elesa, when making Ingo a new coat, had made the outside out of a thicker material that would be more resistant to nicks from Sneasel’s claws. Ingo helped Emmet finish the dishes quickly before they made their way out of the apartment, bringing their Pokemon with them. Chandelure floated above them, swaying happily in the breeze. Eelektross also levitated by Emmet’s side, rubbing against him and humming. Some Joltik had taken up residence under Emmet’s cap and in his pockets. Emmet took Ingo’s hand as they walked down the street in their matching coats and caps. They made it to the Subway within a few minutes, waving hello to the few employees there today. The Subway was not running normal battles today. There was something special planned. Ingo and Emmet boarded a specific car, making preparations for the day. This cab was built for a larger party than the standard one, which was necessary. Right as they got everything settled, there was a knock on the door. The twins answered it together, looking out onto the platform.

Nine children and teens, joined by Elesa, their Uncle Drayden, and their adoptive sister, Iris (the current Champion of Unova), all stood on the platform. Each one was dressed almost the same as they had been three months ago, with the exception of Dawn, who now wore more modern attire. Each child carried a small box in their hands. “Happy birthday, Uncle Emmet and Uncle Ingo!” they all chorused. Emmet grinned broadly, Ingo’s mouth quirking up at the edges. Emmet gestured into the car, signaling all of them to come inside. Elesa walked up and hugged them both, the two hugging her back in response.

“Happy thirtieth, you dorks. Welcome to the club.” Emmet playfully slapped her shoulder, Ingo snorting.

“You’re only two years older than us. But I’m three minutes older than Emmet.”

“Hey, our birthday is our truce day! No pulling that card today!” Drayden laughed and clapped them on their shoulders.

“You both still act like you did when you were at your tenth birthday.”

“Let’s go sit down, it’s about to start! And I want to meet up with all my cousins!” Iris called, pulling on Elesa and Drayden to sit. She joined the club of kids around them, the buzz of excitement in the air not lost on the twins.

Once everyone was settled in their seats, Ingo and Emmet stood at the front of the train, Ingo taking the PA. “Welcome aboard the Nimbasa Battle Subway Rail System. Please remain seated until your battle is called. Prepare yourselves for imminent departure.” He and Emmet made eye contact as they called out, “All aboard!” in unison, the train lurching into motion. The younger twins stood first, both grinning matching smiles as they prepared their Pokemon. The other kids (and Elesa) cheered from the benches lining the car as they pulled out of the station. Sneasel sat in Elesa’s lap, waving her claws.

“I am Emmet. I am a Subway Boss. I love Double Battles. And I love combinations of two Pokemon.”

“Thank you for riding the Battle Subway today. I am the Subway Boss Ingo. I will choose the next destination based on your talent. Do you understand Pokémon well? Can you hold on to your principle? Will you go on to victory or defeat?”

They got into position, pointing with one hand at the opposing twins and pointing their other hands at the ground in their infamous pose, Emmet grinning widely and Ingo frowning. They tossed out their Pokemon, Chandelure and Eelektross, preparing for their first battle of many against the Champions of every region. They twins raised their hands in sync, shouting,

“Full steam ahead!”

Ah yes, Pokémon rivals; my favourite topic

Warning: this list is massively biased. I (kinda jokingly) rag on every ‘Awful’ tier rival, so if you don’t want to here that, feel free to skip that explanation. I am pretty harsh with Marnie, I know a lot of people like her, so if you do like her PLEASE don’t read her section because I do not want to upset anyone.

Also, I do ramble a bit how I like SWSH but they are my personal least favourite games (which is a hot take, I know), so if that would upset you please skip. Take care of yourselves <33

I created the politically correct ranking of Pokémon rivals (/j)

Anyway, epic explanation under the cut:

*if N was on this list he would fall under “Amazing”. Breath-taking story, breath-taking development, great theme songs, awesome character, fantastic team.

Why Blue is in S rank (very long explanation compared to the rest)

You cannot tell me Blue (or Green, or Gary, whatever you want to call the main Kanto rival) isn’t THE BEST RIVAL EVER. They got it SO RIGHT. He inspires hatred, AND sympathy. Literally, his grandad, the only living relative aside from his sister we even know about, loves you (the player) more than him and it’s kind of sad.

Blue is great, he has a crappy pronunciation of ‘Bonjour’ (see Pokémon Masters), he says ‘smell ya later!’ he has class, swag, and is by no doubt the most challenging rival character. He is the only rival I never swept on a normal run. He is always demeaning you; he is always one step ahead all the way up until the champion battle where you finally beat him. AND HIS CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT OMG.

He still is arrogant and prideful, but respects people and wants to guide people to be better at Pokémon battling and thrives when he sees others succeeding - he doesn’t mind being ‘a former champion’. HECK HE’S SO COOL AND AMAZING.

Also he has the best champion theme and encounter theme ever. Yes, he was a previous F/O so I am super biased; but so were 3 others on this list.

Silver and Gladion

These two were my F/Os when I was much younger (around 12). They are great rivals with great development and story arcs. Plus, they have bopper encounter themes and battle themes. Gladion was my real introduction to the oc x canon community and inspired me to take drawing on as a hobby (as well as Lillie but I did not end up drawing her as much).

Brendan, Cheren, Hugh, and Barry

When I was 10 playing Omega Ruby, I liked Brendan a lot (so... another past F/O... he’s the final one though). I dunno, he genuinely had a good friendship with that extra spice of rivalry with our character, May. I do not like friendly rivals (if my listing wasn’t obvious), but Brendan did it right. There was a lot of touching scenes with him and May *cough*cough* Delta Chapter *cough*cough* which really made me connect with him when I was 10. Now, Brendan and May are interchangeable depending on which one of them you pick to play as, so why have I ranked Bredan far above May? Better encounter and battle theme (yes, they have different instrumentation) and he gets the childhood crush pass.

Cheren is cool, I just really like his character and his attempts to create a good strategy. He is really dedicated to what he loves and becomes a gym leader (like BLUE DID. Blue has it all, really). Plus, glasses are cute :) (he is the same age as me, I can legally say that even though that was an obvious nod to Byakuya but you never know what people will take out of context).

Hugh is cool becomes he somewhat feels like an asshole rival, but at the same time, has a really soft side. Like, his whole motivation to be a good trainer is to save his sister’s Purrloin that was stolen by Team Plasma. He is a hero y’all. Also GREAT encounter and battle theme; huge thumbs up.

Barry! My man! Overall, cool rival with a great team. He is the second hardest rival to me (but Blue is harder than him by a landslide still). He is really funny in both the games and the anime and despite being a bit more friendly, he still sparks a lot of rivalry with you. Plus, his dad is battle frontier brain Palmer! How awesome! He was also my first rival, so that’s something special to me too.

Average Tier

I like Hau as a character, he feels like a genuine friend and how he develops with the main character and Lillie is really wholesome. It’s just - I dislike him as a rival, a lot. Easy fights, not the best encounter theme... just kind of there. I get why people consider Gladion as ‘the true rival’ of S and M because he really is. Hau is also a rival that chooses the starter WEAK to your starter like the gen 6 rivals (who I hate with my entire being).

Wally had a bad-ass final battle theme song and moment. That’s literally the only reason he makes the average tier. If this was a ranking disregarding ORAS he is easily down in the ‘Awful’ tier.

I like Pokémon Sword and Shield... except I just don’t like them as much as every other game (yes. I did play Pokémon Yellow and enjoyed it more, thank you). I know you all HATE that, but that is just my opinion - I think I have earned the right to say that after my almost 12 years of playing these games and being a VGC player for a few years. It has good characters and some cool Pokémon and yeah... gameplay? Lacklustre. I really do not know what went wrong outside of story. Somehow the competitive battle scene is not the fun it used to be. Dynamax bugs me, the lack of megas bugs me, the dex cut REALLY bugs me. I know I am not the only one who thought this game lacked the charm other Pokemon games have. Graphically though, it’s very nice for the most part.

I have gone way off-topic, but anyway, yeah. SWSH rivals make average because I like their characters (especially Hop’s development). Outside of that, not the best rivals.

May is cool for a lot of the reasons I discussed with Brendan.

Lacking Tier

I like Bianca’s whole deal with her dad and how Elesa has a nice moment to shine too - and that’s it. I know the whole theme of her team is friendship but I die inside every time I watch a Chandelure uses RETURN. It was cool she returned in BW2 I guess? I like how her battle theme matches her personality, but it isn’t anything to write home about.

I like Calem a bit more than Serena but I do not want to pull another Brendan and May (even though I had some good reason to do that) and I’m going to put them here. Bad teams and not memorable in the slightest, Calem and Serena belong in this tier.

Awful Tier

X and Y rivals amirite??? They just suck. They are annoying and they suck. They have 3 Pokémon in all final fights, really? At least Shauna is likeable in the anime.

I hate Trace. But, he has one funny memory I have with my dad that makes him slightly better. We both named him ‘Blue’ since Blue is the actual Kanto rival, but then Blue showed up in LGPE... And then the two ‘Blues’ talked to each other and it was mildly amusing at the time. Anyway, he didn’t deserve Blue’s champion theme (which is even used for Blue in later games outside of his champion battle (BW2), THAT IS NOT TRACE’S THEME. Anyway, he is the gross friendly rival that attempted to fulfil the best rival’s shoes. Sorry Trace, bad luck my dude.

I just never attached to Marnie I suppose, but I can understand that she is important to those who are invested in her. I am about to fully rag on Marnie, so please skip if that makes you upset.

I am going to hurt a lot of people when I said I never liked Marnie. She was always just... like why do people like her so much?? I feel like most people like her because she is ‘funny haha goth gf’ which, fair I suppose. I just think she is super lacking as a rival, she makes no real impression as an actual character, and I think if you removed her from the game it wouldn’t make a difference. Don’t want to be that guy, but I AM that guy right now. I suppose she has a cute design?? and that’s it. Again, I am really biased when it comes to SWSH and rivals, so I suppose she really got the short end of the stick with me.

Pokemon AU because why not

Arthur: he would be one of those trainers who obsessively calculates which Pokemon would best balance his team. His main companion was a Shelmet when he was a little kid, but his dad convinced him to give up his beloved Shelmet with the idea that Shelmets were too weak and that he needed something more befitting of his father's legacy. Uther wants him to focus on Fighting-Types so he can one day inherit his father's gym, but Arthur feels like restricting himself to just one type is very imbalanced and would ruin his chances of success. Growlithe is his new companion, but he always secretly keeps an eye out for Shelmets

Gwen: she would catch all the ugly and unpopular ones. When asked about her reasoning for this she says, "if i dont love them, who will?" and then cries as she hugs her Alolan Muk, which she named Sweetie Pie. Unassuming in that you think she won't be hard competition, but the next thing you know her Drowsee has knocked out three of your pokemon and you're all out of Potions

Morgana: the Dark-Type gym leader. She was supposed to take her father's place as leader for his Fight-Type gym, but she's rebellious and edgy and somehow even more competitive than Arthur. Her main companion is a Spiritomb

Merlin: a member of the Elite Four. He likes to hang around Arthur and make fun of him for having taken on the Elite Four about 17 times now, but every time he loses to Merlin. Since Arthur used to be mean to him when they were kids, Merlin considers this poetic justice. Now you probably think he's got all Dragon-Types, being a dragonlord? Nope! In this au, Merlin himself is a rare shapeshifting Dragon-Type pokemon called Emrys (doesn't exist in the canon pokedex, just thought it'd be a cool idea) that has taken the form of a human - of course, Merlin isn't aware of this and thinks he's actually human. Its for this reason that he is uncannily in-tune with his Pokemon, a factor that contributes greatly to his status as the hardest Elite Four member to beat. His team is comprised of cutesie Fairy-Types - but then all of them are heavy-hitting powerhouses. So basically not only is Arthur's Machamp getting K.O'd in one hit, but its getting K.O'd in one hit by a frickin Rhibombee. Merlin finds this absolutely hilarious. His main companion is a Psych/Fairy type called Hatterene. He sucks at naming things and usually names them after the main color of their body

Elyan: his original intention was to do all Normal-Types, but then he learned about the tragic past of how Phantumps are made (souls of lost children possessing tree stumps), and now he exclusively adopts catches Phantumps bc Protective Older Brother Mode: Activated

Gwaine: Fighting-Type. The Fighting-Type gym used to belong to his father until Uther bought it out, something that made his father so upset that he fell ill from stress and later passed away. Gwaine became a drifter, wanting nothing to do with the lifestyle that killed his dad, until he meets Merlin and Merlin teaches him the value of forming friendships with Pokemon. His companion is now a Blaziken named Weed

Lancelot: he scolds the others for being so aesthetic-based with their Pokemon bc that's bad for building a balanced team, but then when you look at his team its just all sword/knight-themed Pokemon. All of them. Except for his main companion, which is a Milotic that was a gift from Merlin

Leon: he takes the Nuzlocke approach - catch the first pokemon you encounter in each new area, let them go when they faint in battle. He has somehow managed to beat the Elite Four with just a Houndoom and an Eggsecutor

Percival: he only has one Pokemon, bc he feels like that's all he needs. He just has one sole Aron, but since he couldn't think of a name he let Gwaine do it for him (which is why its name is 69)

Gaius: another member of the Elite Four. His team is mostly Poison-Type. His main companion is a Gloom, but his Toxicroak is one tough customer. Used to be the Poison-Type gym leader, but decided to retire and gave the gym to Merlin. But then Merlin gave it to some kid named Daegal, much to Gaius's chagrin. The main reason he's so hard to beat is bc he uses so many goddamn Potions

Mordred: he's just a small child starting out on his first big adventure, with a trusty Charmander by his side. He grew up in the foster system, but he has fond memories of the Alakazam that once belonged to one of his foster parents. He hopes to catch an Alakazam as well some day, or really any Psychic-type. He also follows Arthur around like a lost puppy

Gilli: Fire-Type gym leader. His companion is a Centiskorch

Freya: Pokemon breeder with an incredibly vicious Purrloin as her companion. She's the only one the Purrloin - named Cow, for some reason - is nice to. Her dynamic with Arthur is pretty much the "it don't bite" meme

Mithian: a trainer whose father wants her to inherit his Normal-Type gym, but she ran away from home to pursue her dreams. What those dreams are tho, she's not entirely sure yet. She just knows she doesn't want to be a gym leader. Her method of battle mostly involves a lot of stat-changing/HP-draining moves that drive Arthur absolutely ballistic

Elena: doesn't keep pokemon due a traumatic incident in her childhood involving a Grimmsnarl, but makes sure to show up to all of her gf Mithian's battles for support!

Will: you bet your ass he's Arthurs rival. He saw Arthur be a jerk to Merlin when they were all kids and decided to become his sworn enemy. He doesn't stick to any particular type, just whatever he thinks looks cool. I was thinking about a Killjoys Pokemon AU and now your left with the thoughts </3

General

Since there are so few ways to like, actually kill a Pokemon, I'd think that they'd be as useful in crews as actual Joy's?

Barely anyone (zone or city) have full teams of six(too many mouths to feed :/). Most have at least 1, at most 3-4

After the Wars, there only remained only a few types. Water and Ice just completely died out all together, and those who didn't adapted into Zone/City exclusive forms (Most notably, the Sneasle line, Vaporeon, Glaceon, and the Staryu line).

Grass types are on the verge of extinction, with only the Cacnea line and Maractus being completely left unchanged from the radiation. The same goes for Flying, Fighting, and Normal types

Eevee's are pretty common in the city, and are usually given to the children of Crows as partners, as most are expected to take their Parents place. That makes it's evolutions more common place in the City rather than the zones. That doesn't mean they are exclusively in the City. Due to some Crow's children escaping to the zones, there more uncommon rather than rare or nonexistent

Evolutionary stones now take one of two forms; Artificial and Atomic. Artificial (Made by BL/i) have a metallic finish, are smoother, and generally have a peice of steel on the stone somewhere. Atomic (Found in the zones) are the closest to regular stones your going to get. They have taken on either a sickly green color or a feint purple. They are more jagged, and you can count that there is a huge crack

Shinies have basically gone from "You'd be lucky to see one in your life" to "Your crewmate probably has one. Maybe all your crewmates have one"

Fab 4 + The Girl + Radio Crew

The Girls partner/starter was a Zones!Sneasel(Dark/Fire) she met when it tried to steal Party's hair dye, mistaking it for food. Her name is Thi </3

Jet has a Shiny Salandit named Ivory that they got after rescuing her from Joys trying to get extra money

Party's partner, a Houndoom named Blaze, they met after TCM was complaining of someone-or something-stealing merchandise. She tracked it down and after a few protests from Tommy, caught him.

Ghoul doesn't really have a set partner. Xey more so have 3 partners who continuesly try to eat xeir doritos. A Zones!Raticate(Fire)[Named Rascal], a Shiny Krokorok[Named Shades], and a Sizzlipede[Named Dante]

Kobra's partner is a Zones!Umbreon(Dark/Poison) named Ivy. She had evolved shortly after(like, a day after) they had "Officially" formed the crew. Ivy really protective of The Girl

Cherri's partner is a Klefki named Bottle that helps him at the track

Ivy does not like Cherri

Dr. D's partner is a Rotom named Ziggy. It likes to try and disrupt the broadcast but never succeeds

Show Pony's partners are a Boltund named Speed Racer and a Dedenne named Satellite. They help them on supply runs

Comic/Post-SING

C.A.T is just a Purrloin. Literally nothing different about it other than it now has a tiny camera strapped to its back

The Fab 4 had left their teams at the diner before hand in case anything happened to them

The Ultra V's have Two pokemon between all of them and they are Vaya and Vamos's Plusle and Minun that they not only got after the group formed and found the two in Tommy's makeshift dumpster, they don't have names for them

Pokemon just HATE Val

Ivy is no exception

Misc Zone Inhabitants

Tommy doesn't have a partner. Like, at all. Sure, a few Pokemon come into the shop from time to time, and he will give them extra food and water(He's not completely heartless), but he never really needed one

Dr. Benzedrine has a little Sinestea floating around them at all times. It's not officially their partner, but it might as well be. Its name is Earl

Mr. Sandman's partner is a Zones!Hypno (Psychic/Ghost) named Brightside. Like Ziggy, he likes to play pranks on everyone.

Side note: Ivy LOVES Sandman

The Phoenix Witch does have a partner, a Zones!Leafeon(Grass/Ghost) with No Name. She's never spoken of in grave detail, as no one has seen her in person, though some have stated that they may have seen her being on Dr. D's lap one time while he was doing the traffic. (She was getting the best ear scritches!)

summary: Some BNHA students and their Pokemon team and status if they were in that world. (part one, i want to make a mini series out of this so it’s heavily self-indulgent)

notes: a self-indulgent thing for me b/c this au has to happen. Thank you for reading. also i am in the midst of writers block but the last requests will be out soon!

most of the bullets will be in relation to the main character izuku because why not

*teams inspired by this because i had trouble figuring out who would fit with who and honestly bakugo’s team looks like him aHA

Main Traveling Group:

Midoriya Izuku

Starting Aventure: bulbasaur, aipom

Completed Team: venusaur, lucario, ambipom, floatzel, butterfree, garchomp

I was gonna say he gives off main character vibes then I remembered he was actually a main character already good job ness

but yes izuku here is on his way to become a pokemon champion!

i’m thinking he’d be pretty well-rounded with his team but his starter is definitely a grass type

his pokemon are so concerned whenever they go check out some cave or ancient ruin

izuku’s like “let’s explore!”

and his pokemon look at each other and then at him like “but please don’t try to move and jump on stuff alone pLeAsE bE cAREFUL”

they have venusaur keep him in vines sometimes

literally everyone loves him (all the gym leaders, all the recovery girls, etc.)

he manages to have todoroki and shinsou as travel buddies like how

they’re all like “i didn’t start training to make friends” and boom they’re a close knit group

very very ambitious and headstrong in his goals

he did get noticed by the champion after all *cough* all might *cough*

Todoroki Shouto

Starting Adventure: eevee, eevee, milotic

Completed Team: glaceon, flareon, ninetails, alolan ninetails, milotic, volcarona

he’s izuku’s first travelling companion

his father wanted him to become the strongest trainer to carry on his family tradition but he just wanted to see the rest of the world, considering he’s been couped up training for most of his life

he was sent off on his own trainer journey and was unknowledgeable about a lot of real world things

when he met izuku, he was cold towards him but warmed up after seeing how dedicated and kind the other was to pokemon and people alike

“it’s your destiny, todoroki!” ahaha get it

like i said, everyone loves izuku even shouto

todo is cold to strangers but is kind to them after becoming friends

trainers like battling with him because he’s offers their pokemon the eXPENSIVE full restores after battle

and their pokemon swoon over how nice and pretty he is while he tends to their wounds

speaking of pokemon, his are hot and cold as expected

sometimes they clash but he’s always there to be the mediator

he’s unfamiliar with “common” things because he grew up in a closed off environment

likes travelling around, experiencing new things and meeting new people along the way

Shinsou Hitoshi

Starting Adventure: gengar, purrloin

Team: gengar, liepard, espeon, skitty, weaville, crobat, meinshao

the people around him, mainly his classmates, were afraid of him because of the pokemon he attracts

he also had gengar since he was young, the pokemon being a gift from his parents

every time he tries to make friends they run off because his pokemon’s looks make the other ppl scared

that’s why he now rejects anyone trying to get close to him because the last time it happened they just used him

he couldn’t reject izuku though aha so yeah he’s part of the group now

he is a pretty laidback trainer and is more focused on techniques rather than pure strength

mentor aizawa

took shinsou under his wing when he was young and shinsou always calls him for guidance or just for a chat

has a weakness for cat-like pokemon

the main reason he actually joined izuku’s group is because the green haired male saved a skitty

she’s is the newest addition to his team and he loves her aww

he’s the voice of reason for the group but sometimes he just holds back when he wants something interesting to start especially when bakugo challenges izuku or todoroki to a battle

Challengers & Rivals:

Bakugou Katsuki

Starting Adventure: cyndaquil

Completed Team: typhlosion, electrode, magmortor, arcanine, houndoom, primeape

all pokemon stories have rivals okay bakugou is pERFECT for this

he and izuku met when they were little and because he was more into battling and training, he got annoyed when izuku was recognized by the champion

all his pokemon are as fiery as he is aHA

they love training and can keep up with their trainer’s outbursts and all that we love supportive teammates

he scares every single person he goes up against EXCEPT for izuku & co.

todoroki 's unbothered, shinsou calls bluff on his intimidation, and izuku sees him as a role model as well as rival

gets really annoyed with the trio because he just can’t fULLY beat them

the win ratios are pretty even but this boy wants to win all of his battles with a large power gap because that’s how he rolls

he LOVES using power and intimidation when battling and it’s actually pretty cool to watch his matches

they always have some type of flare to them and never get boring

overall, he’s a strong and resilient trainer who worked hard to get to the top

Kirishima Ejirou

Position: Fighting-Type Gym Leader

Team: blaziken, infernape, hariyama, machamp, medicham, hitmonchan

i’ll just make all their ages ambiguious k thanks

i feel like he’d be a really good gym leader

he’s so uplifting and motivational, it doesn’t affect the self-esteem of anyone who loses to him because he’s there complimenting their strengths and giving them pointers on what they and their team can work better on

man i wish he was in game now he’d be my favorite

he kind of reminds me of island kahuna hala in a way

trains with bakugo a lot because, though the blond won’t admit it, he actually likes training with him kiribaku

when he meets the main group, they all lost their first battle with him because this guy just knows

he’s so in-tune with his pokemon, all that strength and in their bond is so strong

after giving them their fair share of praise and advice, their second battles were won and they received their fighting badges :)

Kaminari Denki

Position: that pikachu guy Electric-Type Gym Leader

Team: pikachu (ik ik but it fits ok), girafig, ampharos, plusle, minun

so hype much wow very exciting

every single battle he does is so flashy with all these effects and whatnot but it fits his aesthetic

think nimbasa city and the runway elesa has before she battles someone

that’s all him

now, his team isn’t really built on defense but they do have a lot of special power, mostly seen in their use of thunderbolt they all know how to use thunderbolt what the heck denki

at one point in his life he thought about owning a farm where pikachu could hang out

he just really likes pikachus and everywhere there’s one they follow him because he looks like them

he’s kind of more bark than bite and might accidentally electrocute himself during battle

concerned izuku when he walked right into a thunderbolt

todoroki was about to ask if he wanted a full restore before the boy realized that it was only for pokemon

he’s in it for the fun of the battle and doesn’t really care if he loses or not unless the trainers are all talk much like he is but ily denki

Iida Tenya

Positon: that trainer they meet on a mountain i’m sorry iida

Team: skamory, straptor, bisharp, gallade

he reminds me of all the trainers that stand there and are like “LeT’s BaTtLe” when you walk in their line of vision

much love iida but that’s who you remind me of haha

he’s the guy that goes by the rules ofc and is a v good sport after losing a battle

when he encounters the main group, he’s training with his pokemon

they were building up and reinforcing their speed and he saw this as a perfect opportunity to learn by battle new people

lost to all three of them

but as mentioned he’s a good sport and the four of them set up camp for the night on the mountain and talk about strtegies and the like

when they part ways he’s telling them that he’ll see them and battle them again

guy wasn’t kidding they fought him like fifteen times total during their journey

i chose his pokemon based on how they look in comparison to him and laughed when i realized there was gallade

because you know gallade’s arms are like blades it reminds me of how iida does that hand thing

it was funnier in my head

Uraraka Ochaco

Position: works at the Pokemon Center, training buddies with the main travelling group

Team: gardevoir, togekiss, musharna, clefairy, jigglypuff

she works at the pokemon center for recovery girl

pink is all i see and it fits her aesthetic really

that rhymed

anyways she is super super sweet and loves working at the center, all the people who come in enjoy seeing her

she actually sees the main trio a lot b/c they and their pokemon do a lot of stuff and end up injured

izuku went to the pokemon center five times in a day and his pokemon weren’t even hurt it was jUST hIM

after that she insisted on coming with them to get some experience outside of the building as well as make sure that they mostly izuku and their pokemon would be alright

half of her pokemon are mature and very, what’s the word, elegant (gardevoir and musharna) and the others are playful yet competitive (togekiss, jigglypuff, & clefairy)

her pokemon know the moves that have to do with teleportation and flying/floating and they enjoy using it even when their trainer is gets motion sickness easily

overall, she joins the group when she can/sees them and they are gratefull to hang out with her

Pokemon Black Nuzlocke - Part 1

Hey! Wanted to try something different because quarantine is boring and since where I am, lock down is happening again, I thought about doing something I thought I’d never do: why not attempt a Nuzlocke of one of my favorite Pokemon games? Sounds crazy, I know. But I could at the very least put the game down in between sessions. And I thought by doing one, it would be interesting - and I kind of wanted to work on a Pokemon OC idea based on that run.

One I hope to get to drawing soon enough. But for right now, it is Nuzlocke time. (I should be finished Shield, but honestly I’ve gotten too bored and disappointed with that game to even finish the main story.)

So if you’re interested in reading the little notes I have regarding this Pokemon Black Nuzlocke, you can read more below. And if you don’t, that’s fine too!

So with all that being said, I'll try and keep things in bullet points since I’m not entirely sure how to format this. But I’m going with Nuzlocke Rules as follows:

I can only catch 1 Pokemon each route that is my first encounter. If it faints, I can’t have any other Pokemon from the route. (Gift Pokemon also do count as an encounter if given in a specific area. Such as the one before the first Gym counts as my Dream Yard encounter.)

However, I am involving a dupes clause in case I encounter the same Pokemon back to back on routes. So I can’t have two Lillipups but I will allow myself to capture a Purrloin and Liepard if they are on separate routes as encounters. But if the Purrloin has evolved to a Liepard by the time I encounter the wild Liepard, I can use Dupes clause to not capture it. (I hope to not have to use this rule. But I just don’t want a team full of the exact same Pokemon when I have to face the champion.)

If a Pokemon faints, I can not use them again since they are considered dead.

All Pokemon on my team must be nicknamed. No exception.

Shiny Clause is here in place by some random odds a Shiny Pokemon appears. I’ll catch it, but I won’t use it.

As challenging as it would be to play without items, I will only restrict myself from using the battle enhancing items such as X Speed.

Any additional ones shall be added if I feel like things are getting too easy.

Now to the actually notes regarding the beginning of this Nuzlocke.

Current name of my character is Avi. It is a placeholder name for the time being. But I like how it could be a nickname.

Starter Pokemon is Snivy. !!!Female!!! Nickname shall henceforth be Queen. (Could have probably gone Fire or Water Starter, but I am bias toward most Grass Starters.)

Route 1 encounter is a female Lillipup. Nicknamed Puppy.

Fought N and Queen was brought into yellow health. Switched out to Puppy for the easy victory. Kind of forgot N just decides to challenge you out of nowhere, but thankfully I was healed for the battle beforehand.

Route 2 encounter is a female Purrloin. Nicknamed Ghost Girl - Yugioh Vrains reference. Later, I came to regret the name choice.

Ghost Girl nearly died to a critic hit from a Level 4 Patrat. Survived on 1 hp.

In Striaton City fighting Cheren at the school. He manages to burn Ghost Girl and reduce her to 2 HP. Still alive as Puppy finished off the Tepig. Puppy also finished off Purrloin and defeated Cheren.

Dreamyard Patrat also brought Ghost Girl to red yet again. Purrloin seemed nice but appears to be a liability.

In the Dreamyard, I took the Panpour to help out against the upcoming first Gym battle. Despite the fact I doubted to use it in the long run, I decided to name him Fountain

Striaton Gym is primarily a Fountain and Puppy show in the battles. Got the first badge after beating Chili without any losses.

Fennel comes to bug me about Dream Mist and stuff while my Pokemon are still injured. So I healed everyone up before heading there. Bianca just watched as a Munna got hit by some Team Plasma members before one of them decided to come and hit me. Hit me as if battling me. Which i quickly defeated one no problem. Then the other met the same fate.

Thankfully a Musharna stepped in while Bianca was too scared to do anything. Fennel also got her Dream Mist which I will probably have no use of considering the fact everyone has moved onto the Pokemon Switch games and forgot Fennel even existed.

Also Fennel prevented me from leaving town so I got to hear about the useless feature I’ll never fully get to use. And I doubt to hear from her again.

I decided to visit the little daycare center instead of getting a new encounter right away. Just because I wanted to level up primarily Puppy and Queen. Because Ghost Girl and Fountain were not going to be big party members in the long run. At least I do not think so.

But on Route 3, Cheren challenged me after I beat up twin girls. And I wasn’t entirely confident about the fight. Though I did have Pokemon around the same level as Tepig, I was starting to realize how much I did not remember regarding levels of opponents of this game. And how I might need to prepare for upcoming Gyms and battles.

Though luckily, Fountain and Puppy managed to carry me to victory. Then Team Plasma decided to steal a young girl’s Pokemon and I have to go with Cheren to fix it while Bianca comforts the young girl. Which, both of us proceeded to wipe the floor with the Grunts no problem. Plus it did help in the double battle they decided to keep biting Tepig, leaving Queen to get off a Growth before using Vine Whip to knock them both out.

I did decide to get my encounter in the caves once Team Plasma left and found a Roggenrola. It was female - which usually it was hard for me to get female Pokemon whenever I played. So I tried catching it, since even though I could not fully evolve it to its final form, I didn’t think it was a truly bad Pokemon to pick up. So Pebbles joined the team! Never used a Roggenrola but I kind of hope if she survives it will make the fourth Gym battle easier.

Now before I went grinding up Pebbles to catch up and everyone to a similar level, I needed to get my Route 3 encounter. Though I had completely forgotten the Blitzle trainer existed, so when I switched in Pebbles she nearly died. I kind of forgot that right now, those defenses suck. And it might have also been a crit. That or Shockwave. And out of everything for my runs, I fear the random crits knocking out my Pokemon. Second is me suddenly being under leveled or not prepared for a battle.

So I wanted to try my luck in the dark grass for a double encounter to increase my odds of finding a more unique encounter. But I got a Blitz, who was a male and I caught him in a Heal Ball. His name is now Zigzagzop because funny reference. And he was holding a Cheri berry for some reason. Nice.

This route was also when I realized I could have gotten a Pidove, but at the very least using them to level up Zigzagzop would be nice.

And here is where I’m going to be ending any story progression and solely focus and trying to get everyone up to Level 15 who is on my primary team. Because I did look up there is a Trainer Battle with N where he’s around Level 13. Though me being dumb did not realize I had Queen attack a Patrat twice with Vine whip and it was about to unleash its powered up attack. Luckily I had Pebbles who had Sturdy tank the hit and then switch back to take it out.

But I am considering maybe leveling everyone up to around 18-19 to prepare for the Lenora battle. Mainly because I know she is going to be a challenge as none of my team knows any fighting type moves. That and I recall her Watchhog using Retaliate giving me lots of problems when I was younger.

I have no real plans besides trying to either tank out things with Pebbles or pray I can easily knock out Watchog. Not sure if there are any tips or tricks regarding how to beat that in terms of Nuzlockes. But next time I update everyone, I should have beaten Lenora with hopefully no deaths, but considering the situations… I got a feeling I’m going to mess up and get some deaths. And I got a strong feeling it may involve Ghost Girl considering the amount of times she has nearly died already. Or if I screw up Pebbbles’ Sturdy.
