England is a notoriously wet place so it’s only fitting that Galar went hard on aquatic Pokémon. Welcome back to my series where I cover the real-life inspirations for all non-fish aquatic Pokémon. Today I’m going over generation VIII. For previous generations, see gen I part 1, gen I part 2, gen II, gen III, gen IV, gen V, gen VI, and gen VII. For my previous series where I covered the origins of all fish Pokémon see here. Starters and legendary/mythical Pokémon will be covered in their own series.

We start with Chewtle and I have to ask; what the hell were they thinking when they approved its design? I get it’s probably supposed to be a bit ugly, but it’s so bad it almost ruins the whole line even though Drednaw is awesome. The line are based on snapping turtles. Snapping turtles are members of the family Chelydra and are native to the Americas (though fossils show they were once more widespread) and are predators who use their extremely powerful jaws to bite prey in half. They are also extremely aggressive and can hurt humans with their power bites, especially since they can all get very large by turtle standards. There are two genera of snapping turtles and Chewtle is based on the smaller common snapping turtles.

Drednaw is based on the larger and much scarier alligator snapping turtle. If you’ve never seen one you can’t really understand how huge and powerful they are.

Like actual snapping turtles, Drednaw has a long and flexible neck that is usually retracted in its shell. Its jaws can bend metal, which is true of some real life (mostly sea) turtles. You may be wondering why an American species of turtle is in England, but that’s because it also drawn inspiration from England’s naval history. Its name and some elements of its gigantamax design come from the dreadnought, a class of warships first invented in England that majorly influenced naval warfare from then on. Its horn looks like a bowsprit and the underside of its shell (called a plastron) has a boat keel on it. Gigantamax Drednaw being a massive, bipedal turtle probably draws from Gamera, a kaiju created as a competitor to the Godzilla movies.

I just can’t get over how well designed Drednaw is when Chewtle and gigantamax Drednaw look like absolute dogshit. How the hell did that happen?

More seabirds is a welcome addition to Pokémon and Cramorant is… well they tried. As the name suggests, it’s a cormorant. Cramorant’s pose looks a lot like the pose cormorants take when they dry themselves on rocks. Cormorants feed on fish and swallow their prey whole, much like how Cramorant hunts Arrokuda. Cramorant is likely based on the two species found in the British Isles: the black cormorant and the common shag (why do we let British people name things?). Cormorants are occasionally trained to catch prey and bring it back to their trainers instead of eating it, which likely inspired Croamorant bringing fish with it thanks to its ability. It spitting caught prey at enemies as a form of defense likely comes from defensive vomiting, a strategy employed by entirely too many seabirds where they projectile vomit at potential predators. To their credit, if my sandwich spewed half-digested fish and stomach acid at me, I probably wouldn’t eat it.

I have wanted another take on octopi Pokémon since gen II and Clobbopus and Grapploct are not what I wanted. Cool idea, I just don’t like the design. They’re just octopi combined with martial artists. Clobbopus is a boxer and may have been inspired by videos of octopi smacking fish. Glapploct is, as its category name states, a practitioner of jiu-jitsu, but also with some lucha libre inspirations. There’s really nothing more to them than that. Well there is the sport (read: recreational animal abuse) of octopus wrestling where divers would grab octopi and drag them to the surface, which was popular in the 1960s. I have no idea why they aren’t part water type other than maybe the devs didn’t want another water/fighting type in the same gen as water Urshifu.

Joining Clobbopus in the “why isn’t this water?” gang, we have Pincurchin. I did my undergrad thesis on sea urchins so I have a soft spot for them. Pincurchin seems to be a generic sea urchin rather than any specific species. Its 5 hard teeth are a reference to the mouthparts of urchins, where each of their 5 radial body segments has a single “tooth”. They are arranged in a circular mouth that scrapes algae off of rocks.

Many species of urchins have venomous spines that can break off inside of another animal and continue to inject venom. Pincurchin’s spines do the same thin, but instead of venom, they release electricity.

Eiscue is just a penguin. With an ice cube on its head. I don’t know what more you want from me.

The Arcto- fossils are a bit hard to pin down since we only have the rear half of the animal. The Galar fossils in general are based on inaccurate fossil reconstructions found often in early paleontology. During the bone wars, where paleontologists were in a race to discover new species, many unscrupulous scientists would stick together fossils from unrelated animals and call them new species. The Arctos seem to be based on some kind of marine reptile like a plesiosaur or ichthyosaur. We now know that a lot of these marine species were blubbery (which is likely why the Arcto half is so thick and even seems to have fur) and had small tail flukes just like the Pokémon. The Galar fossils in general are pretty up to date on their paleontology despite being based on outdated reconstructions.

It feels weird to write this with a romantic relationship so Im going to make this plutonic.

Raph Leo Donnie and Mikey finding out there are the readers old pet.

🐢 Anime boy backstory 🐢

Before Draxum started the mutation process, before he got ahold of Splinter, he needed some actual test subjects. You where an average New Yorker, you went to school and had a part time job and even had some unique pets that you where very attached to.

A alligator snapping turtle, a softshell, a red eared slider and a little box turtle. Draxum took interest in you because of your pets. Huginn and Muninn where sent out to find the perfect animals to mutate, that's when you where targeted by him.

On your way home from a trip to the vet to check up on your little guys health you got jumped. There was no possible way to get out but you where not about to leave your pets. You tried to run but after being picked up by Draxum's vines you got thrown against a wall, passing out. When you woke up your beloved pets where gone.

Raphael

★ He was the one who tracked you down after Draxum told him he once was someone's pet. It was kinda awkward expanding everything to you but after introducing himself you immediately pulled him in for a hug.

★ He kinda gets protective of you. But not from other people! Just in general, you took care of him when he was small. It's only fair that he does the same for you.

★ You and Raph end up being the responsible ones in there little family. The difference between getting in trouble with You instead of Raph is that you always lecture them for at least an hour. Also you get to say stuff like "I raised you better than this."

★ You get invited to every family movie night and everyone fights over who gets to sit next to you because you always cuddle with the closest person. turtle?

Leonardo

★ The reaction he had was similar to the one in in the gif above ⬆️. Yes, he was a plane old turtle once but it took him by surprise when it came out that he was a pet.

★ He's a total lap dog towards you, and only you. There's no getting out of it. He'd walk up to you and plop himself down on your lap and look up. You always give in and give him shell stitches. It's not weird if it's from you, okay!

★ His brothers collectively agree that you are now basically his babysitter. He gets into a fair amount of trouble, imagen Raphael saying "if you don't stop I'm telling y/n!" Or being the one who now yells at him after making bad discussions instead of raph.

Donatello

★ Blank face before quietly saying "What?" He knew that he was just a regular softshell but surprisingly he never thought about where he came from before getting mutated.

★ He gives you random tests on your knowledge of softshell turtles. Like you could be folding laundry and he'd just say "what is the proper temperature for a softshell turtle enclosure?" He does this to try and figure out if you where a good pet owner. He's come to the conclusion that you where a pretty good pet owner.

★ He wonders about what could've happened if Draxum never stole him and his brothers from you. Things could've turned out way differently, the thought comes back to him every once I awhile.

★ You know things about him that nobody else knows, like where he likes to be pet on his shell. But he refused to believe you without any proof. He is only slightly embarrassed when you demonstrate for him.

Michelangelo

★ *New parent acquired* He got really excited and asked a ton of questions. Did you get him from a pet store? How much did he cost? Do you still have his old habit??? He needs to know theses things!

★ If you have any photos of him and is brothers as regular turtles he's going to ask for copy's. Don't tell anyone but he's working on a family album in his free time.

★ You are now his older sister figure, no you aren't getting out of it. He comes to you when he needs help or has a problem with something or someone. He says that he inherited your kindness even though it doesn't work that way.

★He lowkey love's it when you pamper him like he is still your pet turtle. Doesn't matter if he's a big guy now! He wants chin scratches and lap pillows. Also he makes Draxum apologize for what he did to you.

You had someone you wanted him to meet

So he was panicking, of course

Your parents? Your best friend?

So when he showed up to your apartment, he looked shaken

You looked him to your bedroom, which he's never been in

He sees a giant glass box with water and plants inside

This box took over an entire wall (Spiny Softshells get big)

"This... is Plato."

"Plato?"

He goes up to the box and sees a Spiny Softshell, basking under the heat lamp

"You have a pet turtle? Not just any turtle, but a Spiny Softshell... Like me?"

"Yeah, he's been my pet for... 15 years."

He's very confused

Why do you have a pet?

Why are you dating a humanoid version of your 15 year old pet?

"I...... What the fuck?"

He puts his hand in the enclosure and the softshell hisses, snapping at his hand

"Careful, Dee. He's aggressive."

"15? I've got 8 years on this guy."

"Hey, Leo? Can you come here?"

Leo came to your bedroom, stopping at the door and knocking

He's never been in your room, so he didn't want to overstep

"Come in."

He didn't know you had a pet so he froze

"You can come closer, he doesn't bite... Well... He does sometimes..."

Leo came closer, seeing a turtle in your hand

"You have a pet turtle?"

"Yes, this is Apollo. My red eared slider."

"You've got to be kidding me..."

He watched as you pet Apollo's head, the turtle rubbing his face against your hand

"Been with me for 15 years."

15 years? That's 13 more years than he's had with you.

This was an outrage

Hold on... Why is he jealous of a turtle?

He's your man, your #1.

Still he couldn't shake his jealousy, watching you talk and pet Apollo

You asked Mikey to come over

You told him that you wanted him to meet your pet

He was excited

He comes over when you're not home sometimes to hang out with Monet

Then he learned Monet was 15

Blown away that you've had him for so long and didn't tell him

He was meeting someone important to you

He was dressed up, anxious about meeting whoever it was

He got to your place and you showed him to this pond outside your house

"What are we doing out here?"

"Raph, I'd like you to meet Popeye."

He looked where you were pointing and saw an alligator snapping turtle

He wasn't as big as he's heard they get, maybe half the size

"You have a turtle?"

"I've had him for 15 years."

He knelt down and Popeye rushes him

"Raph!"

You knew that Raph could take care of himself

But Alligator Snapping Turtles are very aggressive

Popeye tried biting Raph, but didn't have much luck

His arms were far wider than 5 inches (which is how wide they can open their mouths)

So it barely managed to pinch him

Raph laughed as Popeye continued to try and get a good hold

He had a feeling they'd be good friends

Cuddle Headcanons!!!

Raphael:

I personally headcanon raph to have physical touch as his love language. Being the oldest, the best way to show his brothers love is with bear hugs and hair ruffles, but with an S/O, his cuddles will be much more intimate

Snuggle sessions are his favorite quality time with his S/O. Sometimes the poor boy just needs to settle down and receive some loving

Typically Raph is the big spoon because, well he a big boy and he's got spikes on his shell, but he wishes he could be a little spoon so bad

Let this sweetheart lay on your lap, please, its the closest thing he can get to being little spoon

Since he's a lot bigger, he'll typically lay you on his plastron or in his lap to cuddle, but if your just as big as him, he'll wanna lay on top of you with his head on your chest

For the times your in his lap, he loves to hug you from behind and rest his head on your shoulder

Raph really loves it when you give him cuddle time kisses. Kiss his head and his tail will be wagging for hours

Warning though: Alligator snapping turtles have bigger, longer tails, so you'll probably have to deal with loud thumping from his tail wags

Leonardo:

Leo seems like the type of guy to have no problem with physical affection at all, but when it gets to a more intimate level, I feel like that might take him some time to get used to it. As flirtatious as he is, he's still new to showing love without the teasing

After getting used to cuddles from his S/O, he will have no problem asking for more or luring them in for a cuddle sesh

Leo will ALWAYS want to be the big spoon. He loves to just wrap his arms around your waist and hold you in his arms. It makes him feel like your hero

For most cuddle sessions, Leo likes to lay his head on your chest while you scratch his head. It always puts him to sleep

I headcanon Leo giving words of affirmation as a love language, so during cuddle sessions, he'll be complimenting you endlessly

Also, prepare for a lot of neck kisses and nuzzles. He just Loves lovin on you

Once in a while, Leo might ruin the mood by blowing raspberries on your stomach or tickling you out of no where. He just wants to hear you laugh

Leo does NOT like churring out loud, he gets really embarrassed about it, but if you scratch the back of his shell while he's laying against you, he will become a churring mess

Michaelangelo

Mikey would definitely be the one to cuddle more than the rest of his brothers. He's just naturally clingy and very touchy. Even Donnie can't escape the hugs from Mikey, everyone gets a piece of the action with this little lad

Mikeys got a lot of energy bundled up in him, but when it comes to cuddle sessions, he settles down for some time with his S/O

Mikey doesn't care if he's big spoon or little spoon. He likes both holding you and being held by you, but on bad days, expect him to ask for little spoon position

There are gonna be a lot of nuzzles coming from this boy. You know how cats rub themselves against their owners? Yeh, that's mikey. This boy is all over you

Typically, Mikey will put some relaxing music on for cuddle sessions so that you two can wind down

Mikey tends to make little chirping sounds when he starts to really relax, so its a sign to let you know he might fall asleep

Sometimes, Mikey likes it when you take a clean paint brush and brush it against his shell. It's so soothing. Once in a while, he'll even use the paintbrush on you

Whenever you have a bad day, Mikey will lay you on his plastron and rub circles on your back or play with your hair

Donatello

Now Donnie has never been big on affection, we all know this, but even though he avoids affection, I do think he's touch starved. I don't think he hates it, I just think he doesn't know what to do with affection or intimacy, this ending with him reacting awkwardly

Be patient with Donnie, please. It's gonna take him a while until he's comfortable enough to cuddle, but once he's used to it, he LOVES it

Donnie will be very hesitant at first, but after the first few cuddle sessions, he takes his battle shell off

He'll definitely be a bit shy to ask for cuddles

He LOVES it when you rub his shell, he becomes a churring mess. Just make sure you do it gently, it's sensitive.

Don't you DARE go on your phone while you guys are cuddling, he will not hesitate to snatch that phone and toss it

Like Mikey, Donnies ok with being both big or little spoon, but he does prefer to be big spoon. Being little spoon makes him flustered

Give him cuddle sesh kisses, he'll turn into pudding

April:

Like raph, April plays the role of an older sibling, so she has no problem giving affection, she's all about the lovin and sisterly kisses for her new turtle siblings, but with her S/O, it's a whole other story. Prepare for lots of love

During cuddle sessions, April enjoys sitting in your lap while her head lays on your shoulder

April doesn't mind being little spoon every once in a while, but she much prefers to be big spoon. She can rub your stomach while hugging you from behind

Expect a lot of kisses during cuddle sessions with her. She is gonna be giving you smooches all the way from your head to your tummy

She likes to cup your face sometimes and compliment you endlessly. She just wants you to know how special you are to her and how lucky she is to have you

Sometimes if things are too quiet, she'll start flirting with you till you're as red as raphs mask. Things like holding your chin and whispering sweet nothings into your ears

Untie her hair, let it loose, and rub her head. She will be in heaven. Her hairs always tied up, so having it loose is just really relieving. It's even better when her S/O is sitting there, scratching her scalp.

April likes to sometimes tuck her head under your chin whenever she's in your lap. She just loves to close her eyes and take in your scent, it makes her feel at ease

My TMNT interation, this is gonna be a master post thing

My TMNT interation/au(whatever you'd like to call it igs..)is littlerly the turtles but trans and goth lol

There's a lot of things I haven't fully figured out or characters who don't have official designs or are just not in my interation at all. But all 4 of the turtles are alligator snapping turtles, just with different skin tones. I'll add links to anything related to this, reference sheets, art, old designs and shit ect ect

Leo-

She/Zeir transfem

Leo's the oldest out of the 4 and the main caretaker, it's not a role she requested for but something she accepted when Splinter was unable to take care of her siblings

Her favorite type of pizza is Hawaiian style and dresses in a Mall goth style

Raph-

He/him transmasc

Raph is the middle child and Donnies twin. He's very overprotective of his siblings and loves being out of the lair. He can be a bit disrespectful to authority figures because of his distance for Splinter and to people he's first meeting because of his trust problems.

His favorite type of pizza is buffalo chicken and he dresses in a Death rock style

Donnie-

They/them nonbinary

Donnie is also the middle child and twins with Raph. They're the least social out of the 4 but find comfort in talking to online friends, they babysit Mikey the most when Raph and Leo go out . They're very smart ofc and are the main source of technology, inventions and electricity in the lair(also have the "stickiest" fingers)

Their favorite type of pizza is Cheese and Vegan and they dress in a Cyber goth style

Mikey

He/him born intersex

Mikey is the youngest out the 4, being about 4-6 years old. He's very impressionable and admores all of his older siblings, especially Raph and lLeo and is always amazed at anything Donnie does lol. He loves coloring/drawing and watching tv, he wishes he could leave the lair one day and make friends of his own

Mikeys favorite pizza type is any and every, his style isn't official it's a work in progress

You once shifted to be an alligator snapping turtle, and ngl, it freaked him out a bit

His favorite animal for you to turn into is a chinchilla

You two like to look up cool animals to see what you can turn into

If turning into animals uses a lot of energy, will definitely cuddle you and reminds you to take breaks after you shift

One time when Donnie knocked on his door, you shapeshifted into a tiger, while he sat on a makeshift throne of pillows, and pretended to be some benevolent king, Don was definitely annoyed, but you both got a kick out of it

Whenever you shift as a cool big animal, like a lion or bear or horse, he tries to get on your back, and you've let him a couple times, but it's even funnier when he tries to be cool, and you just decide "lol no"

Sometimes you guys like to play hide an seek, but with powers, and honestly, it's so much more difficult and fun

He asked if you could shift into a cheetah, and wanted to see who was faster, you in cheetah form, or him (spoiler alert, it was you, but he tried to convince you it was because you were cheating, and he made a stupid pun out of it that made you giggle)

Has definitely cuddled with you whenever you shift into a mammal

Found it kinda cool when you shifted into a red-eared slider

Called you mini Leo for a while, and ever since then, you've never shifted into a turtle lol

He asked you that if you got a disease only animals could get, and if you shifted into a human, if you would be cured

You both sat there for an hour trying to figure it out

But you still do just to mess with him

You both like to come up with different tricks depending on different animals

Has definitely compared you to Beast Boy before

If you ever get tired from shifting, he doesn't allow you to shift unless you've rested

And he brings out doctor delicate touch if you don't want to rest even if you're dead tired

Loves cuddling with you when you're a super big or super small mammal

He's not sure why, but he loves it when you shift into a lizard, especially a chameleon

He found it so cool when you shifted into a box turtle and you and him chilled in your shells

You both make inside jokes about each of your animals forms

If very touchy with you, often either on your back when you are a big bear or tiger, having you on his head or shoulder when you're a rodent, ECT ECT

If he has a fear of a certain animal, you help him alot with them, by turning into them and showing him how harmless and non scary they are

Has definitely painted each of your different forms before

So someone pointed out that Leo may have been the most aware of the boys when they were first mutated, being the only one sitting up and reacting to Splinter when he spoke.

Now I'm wondering if maybe Leo isn't actually the Eldest of them. Just work with me on this.

He has shown the most maturity overall in the series, and keeps the other in check when they try to do dumb without dampening the others idea of him being fun.

In every other iteration, Leo is always the oldest, and hence, the leader. And this shows turn Raph into the oldest and leader. But the reasoning that keeps being brought up in the show for Raph being older, is that his the biggest. And normally, that makes since. The older sibling is 8 times out of 10 the biggest. But he's also an alligator snapping Turtle, which are known to be very large.

This scene makes Leo out to be goofy (which is part of this versions personality) but also, did you see what he did? The boys wanted to go after some pretty dangerous criminals for their first hero mission. Now, at first watch through, I thought he was just being scared to get hurt, but after a while of watching his character, I think it was to protect his brothers more. Just look at what happened when they went after the 'paper theives' and they all could have gotten seriously hurt. If Leo had agreed to the spine breaking bandit, who knows how worse off they could have been? And Leo was able to use his charms and general goofiness to get the boys excited to go after paper theives.

And he does this for so many other episodes. If they're already in a bind, Leo jumps in to turn it around if he can. And look at when they broke the wifi and went to the mall, Leo was the one to get his brothers rallied into actually fighting the Foot leaders. Raph may have been the one to try to get his brothers to do something first, but it was Leo who managed it.

This scene right here, I can't get enough of. Leo is so vulnerable to Hueso about being alone. Sure, he got them into what he thought was a mess, but he did everything he could to save them. He learns from his mistakes.

And what of him barging into Hueso's office and crushing the model ship? You wonder how he showed maturity in that scene? I'm not saying he did. He was so terrified his brothers were gone, that he tried to play it off as no big deal at that moment. I have older siblings, and I am one as well, and I notice that when a younger is in trouble, we try to help right away. But when we don't know how to help, we kinda just float, wondering what to do, and most times, we try to make our sibling laugh, or we attempt to play off a situation thats happening while our sib is crying as something not so bad to keep them from having a worse time. Leo had no clue what to do. He went to the only person he could think of that could possibly help him. He's always known by Hueso as the dumbone, or close to that. Leo didn't want him to know just how bad he needed guidance. I could go more on this part, but that's for another time and subject.

My main point here is, it's very possible that Leo could have been the oldest, but out of Lou Jitzu's confusion on children, he was probably not even considered as older then anyone for a while.

Don't get me started on the Pizza Puff episode. That ones on crack. And magic poison... but that would get me waaaay off track.

That's my theory in a seashell, but I guess ge could just have been a mature younger sibling. They don't all have to be the oldest to be the leader of the siblings :)

MSB rambles: locations

As anyone who’s watched the Magic School Bus series knows, the show is mostly set in Walkerville, a made-up town. However, they never specify where it is, except for “in the USA.” They don’t specify what state, or even what region of the country it’s in. But here are my observations.

In “Gets Eaten,” Ms. Frizzle drives the class to the beach, while the bus is in normal bus mode. The beach looks like a California beach to me (based on my experience going to beaches there), and a sea otter makes a brief appearance. In the US, sea otters are only found along the west coast.

In a few episodes (Getting Energized, Rocks and Rolls, etc…), it’s shown that there are mountains/foothills just outside Walkerville, and that there’s snow on top for at least part of the year.

We know it snows during the winter in town as well. (Source: MSB Holiday Special)

There is a swamp with alligators and blue jays within driving distance of town, as shown in “Butterfly and the Bog Beast.” The whole vibe of the swamp feels very southern to me. (Note: “driving distance” might not necessarily mean said swamp is near town. Could just be that anywhere is driving distance on the Magic School Bus.)

In “Gets Swamped” we see that there is a more marshy swamp in town. The main vegetation is reeds and small shrubs, and the animal life consists of species such as snapping turtles, muskrats, wood ducks, harriers (marsh hawks), bullfrogs, red-winged blackbirds, and dragonflies. This suggests a more northern location for Walkerville.

In “Goes to Mussel Beach,” the mussels are described as “Mytilus californianus” aka the California Mussel, a species only found along the west coast. Again, we have no idea how far away the beach is from town, but it’s a different beach than the one in “Gets Eaten.”

In “Kicks Up a Storm” the outside temperature gets to a high of 99 degrees Fahrenheit— which, judging by the kids’ reactions, is too hot for them. As a Californian, I can sympathize with this.

In “All Dried Up,” the bus (in plane mode) must fly over a mountain range to get to what looks like the Sonoran Desert. Which mountain range they fly over is not specified.

In the book “The Truth About Bats,” it is stated that in order to see bats in Yosemite National Park, the class must fly to California— thus implying that Walkerville is not located in my home state.

In “Goes to Seed,” there is a Ruby-throated hummingbird (at least that’s what I think it is) in the garden at Phoebe’s old school. The Ruby-throated hummingbird lives mainly in the eastern half of the US.

In “In a Beehive,” Tim mentions a “big frost” approaching. Again, this suggests Walkerville is somewhere Up North. (We don’t get a “big frost” where I live— just a few smaller frosts.)

In “In the City,” we see that some of Walkerville’s urban wildlife includes peregrine falcons, red foxes, opossums, raccoons, and nighthawks. It is also implied that bears live in the woods outside of town.

In the book “The Wild Whale Watch,” the New England coast is a short drive from school, which directly contradicts my observations about coastal locations in the show.

The woodpecker in “Meets the Rot Squad” is a red-bellied woodpecker, a species found in the eastern US.

In the book “Rocky Road Trip,” Carlos says that he collected some of the rocks in his collection near “the Saddle River.” I looked it up, and in the real world, Saddle River runs through New York and New Jersey. (But for all we know, the Saddle River in the book could be made up just like Walkerville.)

In “Ups and Downs,” we see that Walkerville is located near a good-sized lake— large and deep enough for a submarine to dive in, and with plenty of underwater vegetation.

In terms of continuity, there is no continuity when it comes to where the heck Walkerville is. This sometimes frustrates my overanalytical brain. So, I leave it to you, fellow Magic School Bus fans, to answer the question:

Rise Raphael HEADCANNONS

Besides Ghost Bear, he was always a huge fan of Jake ''The Snake'' Roberts, Mr.Perfect and John Cena.

Raph actually tended to dream to do football, basketball, baseball, boxing and even volleyball.

Once he met Mona (in my AU) she had him join a wrestling group she was apart of along with a boxing group. He visits it every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Him, Franken-Foot and Slash (my AU) often spar together and beat each other. TO THE DEATH. Not really-

Contrary to popular belief, he swears THE MOST out of all of his brothers. Like bro does NOT care if he dropped the worst f bomb ever at all.

He is a massive fan of Hello Kitty and My Little Pony. He own quite a lot of merch. He actually does read the creepypasta's of these two franchises he likes. He never really was a fan though. Not because he found the fanfics gory or something, he just thought they were stupid and overrated. Plus he saw them as edgy and a ''let's make everything so bloody and gross'' cliche kind of thing.

He actually enjoys live-action Disney movies. Though he prefers the original more.

He tried to be friendly with Mayhem multiple times but eventually gave up. Just because he knew he's not gonna force him to like him all of a sudden. Though both managed to stay neutral on each other after a long time.

Raph loves animals, though he has a hard time getting along with them. He is capable of not having animals like cats, hamsters and mice get scared from him.

When he is left alone for way too long, he starts to hear noises and hallucinates that there are people watching him or glaring at him. Which would eventually result in either him having a panic attack or going feral.

He will actively devour anything. (Probably the reason why he never threw up when 2012 Mikey made the most horrendous recipe EVER-)

His favorite source of comfort is just cuddling with someone or something in a warm blanket.

His love language is physical touch, acts of service and quality time. Though mainly physical touch.

Raph would often wear clothes that are stretchable and capable of not getting ruined because of his spikey shell.

Raph often doesn't like his turtle species. He feels as if he is way too big, too spikey and doesn't fit in. His brothers remind him a lot that he is perfect the way he is and he shouldn't feel ashamed of being huge and looking a lot different then all of them. When he met Slash, the insecurity slowly began to fade away. As he enjoyed the company of meeting another alligator snapping turtle. Also Slash is like 10 feet tall so he is able to give Raph all the piggy back rides he wants.

In the future he would get various tattoos because he thinks they look cool. Plus they represent his family.

He almost swallowed his damn fist. Don't ask me how.

He unintentionally murdered a lizard because he thought it was a spider. Yeah so Mona found out about that-

Despite getting ABSOLUTELY flustered regarding flirting or having romantic advances given to him. Oh dear lordy ya'll do not wanna know how much of a rizzer he can genuinely be... Then there are times when he has the worst rizz to the point you question how he could pull anyone.

He loves marshamllows.

He is the 2nd closest to Todd. With Todd often letting Raph come over to play with his puppies and or pet-sit them.

Raph sleeps like a grizzly bear. That's it.

He doesn't mind Leo following him like a small baby duckling.

His Melody plushie (that bunny from Hello Kitty) is his stress toy. He hugs and squeezes it tightly. Splinter and Donnie ended up getting him a big sized one just for him on his 18th birthday.
