What sorts of things are seen as the most materially valuable in your setting? Does scarcity affect these things? What about immaterial values?

What sorts of things are seen as the most materially valuable in your setting?

Dragon parts, without a doubt. There is an extensively organized black market, primarily managed by Elves, that is dedicated to trading such things. Wings, horns, eyes, spikes, you name it, they want it. Of these, the most valuable are wings, not for the skin but for the bones inside. They are very light, hollow, and very flexible but also very strong. Think like super bamboo. Elves use these primarily to craft weapons and for architectural purposes.

Does scarcity affect these things?

Absolutely. Dragons and Faefolk don't roam Oepus very often, at least not without a disguise (Faefolk remain hidden for other reasons but that's spoilers), so being able to catch and kill a Dragon is quite a feat.

What about immaterial values?

Allmothers or Priestesses of Shanta. Their value lies mostly in their relationship with the Akuji because these women are the only ones they can have kids with. I won't talk too much about that because it's central to the plot of AASOAF and is a little spoilery, but suffice it to say they are highly coveted.

Rathalaugust 2023 (catchup) day 30: Narwa & Ibushi

I really enjoyed the ecological implications of the final hunt of Rise's base story. Narwa arrives and the mated serpent elders are together at last, but you've just finished thrashing Ibushi to within an inch of his life. After gracefully circling each another one last time, Narwa suddenly finishes the job. Now wielding her own thunder powers and the wind powers absorbed from her mate, she turns her attention to you as Narwa the Allmother.

Was this just an act of opportunistic desperation, or does this species typically perform sexual cannibalism? Narwa's egg sac lights up with eggs in the fight that follows, so I assume we're meant to come to the latter conclusion. We've had mated pair violence before with the Seltas and Seltas Queen, but that one generally just makes me laugh instead of giving me complicated feelings. :'1

After the disappearence of Hilda, David tried leaving the city from time to time to search for his friend, and sometimes would get into fights with some boys for mocking his friend's fate, but after his mum — who had become a safety patrol — had decided he would be best suited becoming a safety patrol. At first he didn't like the idea of patrol training, but as time went by and as Frida said that it would help him on their quest of finding Hilda, David just accepted it and even started enjoying it. It reminded him of the sparrow scouts — which he always loved — and even met some old faces, as well as some new ones at the patrol training. With the sparrow scouts, his school and the safety patrol training, David was getting very exhausted and for someone as tired as how he was at the time, he was of no fun for Bertha, his marra who for a while, stopped bothering him, but this is for another story... OK!!! And with Teen David done, time for teen Hilda and teen Louise >:) or should I draw adult Trevor? Hmmm so many options XD
