I remember trying to watch the kdrama “Boys over flowers” cause I thought it looked really good then I got to 52:43 of the first episode and was just like “ahh nope no… not dealing with this kinda absolute f**king bullsh*t”… it was my breaking point-ish cause the whole episode reeked of toxicity but that was a new level. What the main girl did was out there and a tiny bit overboard but he should’ve handled it himself rather then watching as a chunk of the school assault’s tf outta her. 👏😀

Okay well-- okay. I’ve been thinking a lot about zodiac signs and I really wish we got specifics about at least their birth dates and the year so I can get their chart and actually FINALLY understand what the heckie is going on with them because uhm?? I know Aquarius and Taurus have a difficult time understanding each other but they actually have more in common than what most would think?

First off, they are both fixed signs so this means by nature they are: 

Positive traits: Stable, determine, persistent, and quite deep. Negative traits: STUBBORN, rough around the edges, opinionated and single-minded.

Now if we look at Izaya and Shizuo. They are pretty damn determined and persistent if you ask me, whether that means they want to kill each other or not. Izaya or Shizuo following through on what they say. Having the persistence to actually follow through, such as Shizuo persistently ringing Izaya’s door bell to his office(That wasn’t actually his office). Izaya setting Shizuo up to get in trouble, such as framing him for something he hasn’t done or framing him for killing those three guys that were part of the Yakuza. Then with depth, well they are both far more complicated than what we see.  

For their negative traits and how it shows, I mean Shizuo is almost the embodiment of some of them. A little rough around the edges but still quite enjoyable, his determination being so strong that he is set on his ways aka killing Izaya. He’s opinionated, I mean he straight up went to Mikado and just “Yeah, I don’t want to be part of the dollars ya’ll are annoying and I don’t like what ya’ll are doing bye.” (I can get more into this on his own sign because lmfao Aquarius are more emotional than what most think)

Then Izaya. Oh god. He’s quite stubborn for sure, like he’s quite set in his way of thinking about how humanity is. He’s a little rough around the edges because of how he acts. And of course he is suuuper opinionated. He’s an informant and I’m sure he tries to not be biased, but sometimes he wants to give a piece of his mind. Especially when he rambles about life and death and yadda yadda yadda it’s all jumble but he doesn’t change his opinions quite easily.

Of course, with being fixed signs they are essentially gifted the ability to stick with their goals until the end and accomplish them even if in the end I guess you could say that they did but didn’t accomplish what they wanted. I mean, Izaya didn’t get to accomplish what his end goal was for Shizuo, and Shizuo didn’t accomplish what he end goal for Izaya was. Though, it makes you wonder: Would they attempt their grand battle again in the future? I can’t say for sure.

Honestly, I like to think that they see something in each other that kind of reminds themselves of each other. Shizuo thinking he is unlovable(he’s scared he’d hurt someone special to him), Izaya seeing himself above all else only to possibly feel alone and seeing Shizuo I like to think he sees himself. And that’s why he doesn’t want Shizuo around. “He’s a monster”. But, in the english translated novels we get this little bit from the 5th novel: 

He did not love any individual person in particular. He himself was human, and he loved the very thing we call “humanity.” That might be considered a very grand form of self-love, but in his case, he did not count himself among the humanity that he loved. No, more precisely, he was in love with “other people.”

and yet, he hates Shizuo?

It’s easy for Shizuo to simply attract people to him, but not Izaya. It could easily be seen as jealousy, or perhaps envy would be a better word because how could someone like Shizuo, a monster, someone who thinks he can’t be loved able to get so many people to come to him? Who knows.

Then we have Shizuo. Why does he hate Izaya? Could it really of been that smug smirk on Izaya’s face when Shinra introduced them? Could it of been his deep understanding of people like Izaya, but who are also completely different from Izaya? I mean at this point, Shizuo has fought so many people because he was different, almost alien to them? I like to think it’s because he’s a real challenge because let’s be real, some people just want to see just how strong they are against someone else to get that little badge for bragging rights of “Yeah, I beat that person.” or even because they got paid to do it. So, that leaves the question: Why did Shizuo hate Izaya the moment he saw him? I’m not sure. For me, I think it’s because Izaya seemed so confident in his ability to do what he does. He’s quick, critical and precise let alone being a little driven on his emotions(even if he would probably never admit it.) But if I think about it. I think what Shizuo saw was someone who was almost disconnected from their classmates or people in general and that’s something he probably would want: To be left alone. Especially when it came to how often people would fight him in high school. 

Of course all of this is just the fixed sign comparison of how similar and different they are but I’ll leave you with this bit for Taurus and Aquarius compatibility:

Taurus and Aquarius are people from two different worlds. Still, there is a strange similarity and connection between their rulers and although very challenging, this is a relationship where both partners could fall in love with each other, over and over again, every single day. They are ruled by Venus and Uranus, both planets rotating in a direction opposite to the direction of other planets. They are two outcasts, different and standing out together, they understand that East can be where West is, and vice versa. They understand diversity, change of direction and the excitement of love. However, they will rarely get to the point to understand each other because of their excessive need for peace (Taurus) and excitement (Aquarius). What a strange pair these signs are. With such an obvious opportunity for electric love, they go around it and search for something else.

it certainly makes you wonder a little, don’t it? Considering this is a story about Twisted love.

I dont need an au to enjoy Durarara *shrug* sure, they're cool and fun to think about. But to say the story is "poorly executed" I think you should give the novels another go

i didnt need fanworks to enjoy the story when actually watching it the first time either, but it didn’t stay fun to me by it’self , i was only able to stay excited about it by reading fanfiction and drawing fanart. in comparison with FMA i stayed excited all by my self. 

the story is poorly executed in comparison to FMA not in comparison to every anime ever. (because in that case it would fair pretty well)  i suppose i should also mention i was only talking about the anime and not all forms of the thing. i think the Durarara manga was really well done! I wish they had continued it instead of restarting with Re; Dollars. 

i actually find the novels pretty tedious , so i stopped at volume 5 for now. i have of course read much of the series already from popsiclet’s translation so i can afford to wait until the izaya novels are officially translated to start back up on reading the novels again.
