🔥 The Amazon Rainforest has been on fire for 3 weeks and cities are being covered with thick clouds of smoke making the days look like nights and we didn’t know about it sooner because the lack of media coverage.
🌿 The rainforest contributes to 20% of the planets oxygen - they are our lungs, they help reduce CO2 emissions.
🦋 It’s home to over 2,000 species and thousands of indigenous people.
🐆 We’re losing a vital aspect of Earth because people want to clear the land for mining and farming.
🌸 We shouldn’t be the reason why Earth’s natural wonders are shrinking, future generation deserve to know what it’s like having the #amazonrainforest not learning about it in a history book.
🐸 Spread awareness and donate to organizations that preserve land and help fight deforestation by planting new trees.

I used to be teased for being Indian. I was the only Indian in my class and my peers couldn’t understand how beautiful my culture can be because it’s not fully explored in school. My culture was subjected to a small time frame only when learning about ancient history and the teachers who taught it couldn’t fully see the beauty in it as well. They quickly went over the gods and goddess who can help an individual get through the difficulties of life without allowing students or themselves to grasp how important that is to my culture. They couldn’t accept how different our culture is from what they’re used to seeing and for awhile I felt like I had to hide this part of myself to avoid the stereotypes and ridicule my classmates would inflict on me; but now I don’t care what they think. My culture is beautiful and even though some of them only realized now, it’s not too late for others to educate themselves and see the beauty that I see everyday. For those who see the beauty and respect my culture, thank you. For those who can’t and don’t - please try to open your mind.
