The Criminal Psychology Majors, Jason Todd x Fem!Reader Part 1/?
Word Count: 1.3k
Author’s Note: Y/N - Your Name, A/N - Any name (your best friend’s name.)
This is just something I’ve been cooking up in my head during my maladaptive daydreaming. Not really having a plan for this one. ALSO: First post ever on Tumblr! I hope you enjoy it!
I forgot to include the Part 1 when I first posted this lmao F
Warnings: Curse Words, no beta bitch we die like Jason Todd
(Part 1) (Part 2) (Part 3) (Part 4) (Part 5) (Part 6) (Part 7) (Part 8) (Part 9) (Part 10) (Part 11) (Part 12) (Part 13) (Part 14) (Part 15) (Part 16) (Part 17) (Part 18) (Part 19) (Part 20)
As a criminal psychology major, Jason Todd was an intelligent young man waiting to inherit a lot of Wayne Enterprises’ company. Not because Bruce was dying, but because that was Bruce’s promise to him, Graduate, he said, and you can work alongside me, boss and boss. The idea excited Jason entirely. To finally be seen as a colleague to his father was something he always needed from him, but he was too scared to say “Hey dad, am I more than just a sidekick now?” and he knew it.
She, too, was a criminal psychology major. An equally intelligent young woman fighting her way to the top of her class, Jason’s class. And of course, dating isn’t out of the question. Especially when she sees her peers, specifically the one with the white streak in his hair. There was something about him that made her insides twirl in many different ways, butterflies soaring throughout her as if he was destined to meet her. Luckily for her, he sat beside her. Before she could speak to him though, the Professor boomed at the class:
“Good morning class! I am your professor, Thomas Hangre, and welcome to Criminal Psych 101!”
And then began the quick and messy note-taking. She noticed the man beside her didn’t take notes. But, it’s his grade, not mine, she thought.
Little did she know.
When the professor finished, she went to pack up her notes, when the man tapped on her shoulder and outstretched his hand:
“Hey, I don’t think we got a chance to meet before Prof Hangre started spewing at us,” he laughed, “The name’s Jason, you?”
“Oh! My name’s Y/N. It’s nice to meet you, strange man from my criminal psych class, Jason.” she retorted and shook his hand.
“Well well, I can assure you if I was a criminal, Batman would have cracked down on me already, darling.” he stated, almost matter-of-fact-ly.
“You say that like you know Batman.”
“You don’t know if I don’t.”
She laughed at him, there was something about the way he delivered words and sentences that drew her in. This is the start of something good, she thought.
He nudged her slightly in a playful tap, “You want to get something to eat later? We can get to know each other better, and maybe rewrite those very, very sloppy notes of yours, Y/N?” he asked, he seemed shy about it.
“I would love to, Jason.”
They exchanged numbers and packed up her stuff. She figured he still had classes, but she didn’t. So she went back home to her roommate, A/N.
----------------------------------------
“Girl, you do not know the hunk of a man I met today, when I say carved by the Greek Gods and deliver words like a Wayne, I mean it!” she giggled with A/N, they were her best friend.
“C’mon, tell me that guy asked you out, at least to a book club if he’s that hot.” she asked.
“He did! We’re meeting up later at the library to rewrite my notes and chat. Do you think this outfit is cute? I want to make him swoon.”
A/N laughed, “Oh yeah? Girl you’re killing it and you know it. C’mon, red mini skirt, get that man. And maybe see if he has a brother.”
She roared out laughing, “A brother? He is the brother, no man comes from a family where there’s multiple nice ones, you know the saying.”
“Well still, roomies stick out for each other.”
“I know, I know.” she laughed. “Oh and have you seen the latest Bat news, apparently he’s gotten injured.”
“Serves him right for being a bat!”
“Be nice! The man protects us and you know it.” Just then, she looked at the clock, she had 30 minutes to meet up with Jason, so she started panicking.
“I gotta go now, wish me luck.”
“Go, get him.”
-----------------------------------
She pulled up to the library with her bag of hastily written notes and car keys on her lanyard. She was nervous. This was someone who was really cute, and so far, he seemed really sweet to her too. She gulped, getting out of her car. The thing was beaten up to hell and back, so she hoped Jason didn’t see her in it. But he did.
“Hey Y/N.” Jason whispered and she jumped. He laughed.
“Nice beat up car, Y/N. Really living out the broke college kid lifestyle, gotta respect it.” he joked.
“Oh yeah, this is, uh, just aesthetics. I’m secretly very, very rich. Millions of dollars. All my money too.” they both laughed and he lead her inside the library and they both sat down at a desk with two chairs and a computer. This was more luxury than she even had back with A/N.
 Jason grinned and took one of her notebooks and started trying to transcribe what she wrote onto a word document. She laughed, because even though she knew her handwriting was barely legible, he seemed to be managing, and she admired his efforts.
“You know, Jason, I can always transcribe it myself,” she said.
“No, no, it’s okay. If I write it then I can print it for both of us, so you don’t have to pay the printing fee.”
“There’s a printing fee?”
“Yeah, one of my brothers used to go here, my dad says if we all go here he’ll pay the fees since it’s worth it for this college.” he said.
“You have brothers?” she asked, shocked he opened up this quickly.
“Oh yeah I do. 4 to be exact. 3 sisters too. What about you?”
“A twin sister. She’s quite lovely, goes to a different college like a nerd though.” she joked.
He let out a booming laugh, “I think we’re the nerds, Ms. Criminal Psych Major.”
“You have got me there, Jason, you got me there.”
“I know I do, Y/N. So, what high school did you come from, or are you an out-of-city kid?”
“Not from this city, I’m actually from Metropolis. It’s huge and annoying there. Too many people. This is such a smaller city compared to Metropolis. I’m guessing you were a Gotham Academy kid?” she asked.
“Yeah, repping the Gotham Academy to death and back, I met a lot of good people there and I would have to agree, my uncle lives in Metropolis, it’s massive.” he said.
“Your uncle is probably a people-person then, I’m sure as hell not.” she retorted.
“Neither am I, but there was something about you that seemed inviting if I’m honest. I don’t regret asking you this, what is this? A date?” he asked.
“If you want to call it a date, we can call it a date, Jason.” you assured him.
“It’s been a date then.”
“Well I’m glad you thought I was inviting and worth your time, Jason. Really, this is lovely.” you once again assured him.
“Did I tell you that you look nice? Red’s a lovely colour. It’s even my favourite colour. It’s like you can read my mind and dress for the occasion.”
“Man, if I could read your mind, I’m sure it would be a joyride. Maybe I’ll know why you went into Criminal Psych over everything else.”
“That’s a story for another time, Y/N.” he said as he somehow finished typing out the last page of the notes, “I guess this will conclude our date, shame really.”
“Well, that just means there’s room for a second date, Jason.”
“I’ll make sure to tell my brothers about you, then.”
“Is the second date worthy of the Mighty-Jason’s brothers knowing about me?” you are inclined for the answer.
“Well, the first was the minor mention of your name, the second is saying ‘We had fun, I have hopes.’ You know?” he said.
“I know.”
And he printed the document.

“Good Boys listen to daddy don’t they, my darlin.’”
Those words rang through your head almost every day you went to work.
The deep bass of his voice, the warmth of his hands, the hungry look in his eye.
They all haunted your dreams since you started working at Fatgum’s Farm. A southern farm themed strip club where the servers and performers dressed as either cowboys, farm hands, or farm animals. Your “uniform” was a cow printed bikini with a matching tail, ears, and horns. The straps dug into the plush flesh of your brown hips and sides, but you reveled in the stares you would get.
However, you weren’t the only one who had a liking for your outfit.
Eijiro Kirishima was one of the house favorites. A stripper who went by Red Riot, was very intrigued by your appearance. Tall and built like a house, he wore assless chaps, a black thong, and a cowboy hat. Besides the outfit leaving nothing to the imagination, he did love to tease you. Letting his hand slip ever so slightly lower as he walked by, would leave you with a lingering warmth for the rest of the night.
He’s a sweet man though, always walking you to your car and taking care of any customers who got too handsy. Although you never did complain the few times he had to pretend to be your boyfriend. One time in particular, actually. You had a customer gripping your wrist, begging for a kiss, and refusing to let go. Eijiro came up behind you, pulling the man’s hand off of you before putting a protective grip on your waist. Your mind went blank for a moment, feeling his solid body pressed against your side as his fingers dug into the meat of your hip.
“-you go along now baby.” A voice said, shaking you out of your fog. You stood there for a moment before a strong hand gripped your cheeks gently. Turning your face to him, his grip lowered onto your ass.
He gripped it tightly as he spoke. “Good boys, listen to daddy, ‘ight darlin’?” He asked with a low growl. His eyes quickly darted down to your slightly puckered lips, thick and painted red, before looking back up into your eyes.
“Y-yes sir.” Was all you could say before running off to the back to cool yourself off.
That was weeks ago and since then you’ve had your fun with teasing him. Grinding your ass against his bulge “accidentally”, pressing your breast against him with soft groans laced into whatever you were suggesting. Every time, you saw his crimson eyes darken and he licked his lips, looking at your display with hunger. He would recuperate, grabbing your ass as he walked by or snapping the straps of your bikini bottoms against your ass just to see your fat ripple. Today, however, you decided to try and make a move. The two of you were closing for the evening and were the last to leave.
As you walked into the back to change you saw Ejiro standing outside of the entrance. “Ya know you don’t hafta wait outside when it's the two of us right?” You comment to him as you walk inside.
“I know but my mamas raised me to be respectful,” he replies as he walks closer, leaning against a nearby locker as he begins to scroll on his phone. You smirked as you began to strip in front of him, as your back turned to him you felt his eyes trail down your back. Usually, you just threw on some sweats and changed at the house. But tonight you wanted to see how far you could push him. As you pulled off your bra you turned back to him, placing your hands on your hips you smirked. He was standing awkwardly against the locker, face buried in his phone with the faintest of blush dusting his cheeks. “Don’t tell me ya never saw a pretty body naked have ya Eiji?” You taunt as you walk closer to him. Only coming up to his chest you giggled as you pressed up against him.
His breath caught in his chest as he looked down at you. “Now doll… I know we’ve been teasing each otha for a while not..” He started, gripping your chin to keep your eyes on his. “But if ya want this I warn ya… I aint gentle,” he finishes lowly. You can only giggle and bite the inside of your cheek.
"Who says I want it to be soft?” You retort.
Suddenly you’re lifted up and pressed against the lockers by strong arms as a pair of soft lips are pressed against yours. You moan into his kiss as his large hands grip the fat of your thighs and ass. “Fuck baby, do ya know how hard it is for me to just sit by and watch as these hips swing by my stage,” he growls. You can’t get a word out as he sticks two thick fingers into your mouth. Soft whimpers echo through the changing room as your drool drips down his hand. He pulls them out and kisses you gently before slowly sliding a finger inside of you. He groans lowly as he feels how tight you are, your pussy clenches around his finger, desperately trying to suck him in. You stay like this, him stretching you slowly as he adds one more finger, scissoring you apart as he watches your face. How it contorts, how your eyes cross slightly as he feels your sweet spot, it all goes straight to his cock.
“Look at you..taking my fingers like a good little boy should,” he remarks as he looks down at the absolute mess you’ve made. He gently lays you down on a nearby bench, taking off his sweatshirt and folding it up before placing it underneath your hips. You watch as he slides off his pants and boxers, drool escaping you slightly as you watch his cock slowly reveal itself. Thick as heavy that even with it fully hard it can barely stand by itself. He positions himself between your legs, tapping his cock against your pussy. He smirks as he hears your voice hitch, feeling how heavy it is. He looks at you with concerned eyes, studying your face for any sign of discomfort only to find lust-blown eyes looking back at him. He grips your thighs tightly as they push them up to your chest. Your pussy clenches as you feel his fingers sink into the fat of your thighs. He slowly pushes in, biting his lip as he feels the hot, tight walls of your entrance. You reach up, digging your nails into his arms as his grip tightens on your hips.
Eiji gives you only a moment to rest before he pulls out, watching as your lips grip his shaft, glistening from how wet you are. He can’t help the deep growl in his chest as he pushes back in. He picks up the pace, leaning down on his forearms he leans his forehead against yours. The slapping of his balls against your ass echoes loudly. “God damn… you’re so fucking tight-ngh- didn’t think you could take me so well,” he moans out.
You let out a shaky laugh as your legs tighten around his waist. “D-didn’t know you thought so little oh fuck yes of me Eiji~” You replied. Your mixed juices dripped down the curve of your ass, adding to the explicit sounds coming from your rendezvous. To keep himself quiet he buries his face in the crook of your neck, biting and marking his way down to your chest.
Your whines grew louder as you felt the head of his cock hit your most sensitive spot. Your back arched and your nails drew blood from how hard they scratched down his shoulders. “Ah there it is~” He remarks as he sits up a bit, angling his thrusts to keep hitting your sweet pot. Absolutely enamoured by how fucked out you look, eyes crossed and drool dropping from the corner of your mouth, he can see the beginnings of hickeys bloom across your warm brown skin. It made his cock throb. “You’re all mine baby boy, no one else can have this tight pussy except me,” he announced as he began to thrust faster. Rubbing your clit in slow stuff movements he can’t help but smile seeing how your body reacts to the softest of touches. You can barely respond, only nodding your head and whimpering as you feel the knot in your loins tighten. “Gonna cum for me baby? Go on, I’m feelin’ nice today,” he remarks as he feels your pussy tighten around him. He thrusts faster, pinching and rubbing your clit along with his thrusts as he watches your face. You turn your head as you feel yourself about to climb over the edge before you feel a strong hand grip your chin. “Now now. Good boys look at daddy when they cum, I wanna see those eyes cross when ya squirt on my cock,” he commands. His smirk, usually holding warmth and comfort, throws you over the edge with a loud moan. Holding onto him like your life depended on it, you can’t help the cacophony of noises that spilled from your lips. He doesn’t relent, continuing to pound away at your quivering entrance.
“E-eiji nngj s-sensitive,” you moaned out, hot tears streaming down brown cheeks as you tried to move away from his powerful thrusts.
“Shh baby let daddy use you a little bit longer,” he comments as he hooks your legs over his shoulders as he holds your face gently. His large palms squish your cheeks gently as he speeds up his thrusts, your toes curl, and your body quakes as you feel his cock throb inside of you. Looking up at him with unfocused eyes you hold onto his wrists.
“C-cum inside daddy~ please~” You squeaked. That broke him, holding you close to him he unloaded inside of you, groaning loudly he humps against you. Feeling his cock throb and pulse as rope after rope of cum unloads inside of your tight cunt.
He keeps your bodies close together, kissing your face and lips gently as he asks how you're feeling. “I wasn’t too rough with you, was I sweetheart?” He asks as he wipes away tears. You shake your head and lean into his touch.
“No no...that was exactly what I wanted,” you replied. He chuckles as he lets your legs down gently, rubbing your hips and joints to ease the tension.
“Good. Cause as soon as I get you home, you’re gonna need to call off tomorrow.”

The dust that Scout's horses picked up enclosed around them, swallowing them up in a thick cloud of brown. The air was similarly thick around them.
Her hands were shaking, clutching the reigns of her horse, pulling them close to her chest. Y/n wasn't scared though. The things she'd experienced in the almost four years since she'd joined the scouts had changed what the concept of fear was for her. She felt tense- anxiety ridden. She felt like something was about to happen, and the way Eren spoke- it definitely was.
They passed a wall, and Eren's voice cut through the long silence. "I'm sure of it. This is the place where they turned the Eldians titan, which means just up there."
He beckoned them on, rushing his horse forward. Armin swallowed harshly, his eyes meeting y/n's for a beat. They shared a look, that displayed their mutual concerns before it broke.
Y/n had kept close to Armin, whose presence often calmed her. It was strange, but Armin never hid his emotions or disguised his fear (something her friends did so often.) And there was comfort in that. It made her feel less vulnerable.
Levi often teased her for that- but she knew he respected their friendship. Y/n looked to where he rode ahead of her. His hands were steady, expression focused. It unnerved her how he could be so calm.
She blinked away her focus, returning her gaze back to looking straight ahead. Eren led the group to what appeared to be a cliff, and when they reached the top...they saw.
The group seemed to all stop at once, realizing what they found. It was silent, except for the blowing of the waves before them. It was water- the ocean. They all stared, stunned.
Sasha and Connie had mutual expressions of open mouth wonder. Y/n just stared, aghast. Eren on the other hand looked unsurprised and almost bored.
One by one they slipped off the backs of their horses, most rolling up their pant legs and trodding into the water.
Y/n did a little dance in the water, laughing as Connie playfully splashed Sasha in the eyes. Sasha screamed in pain, "my eyes!" After she recovered, she splashed Connie back. Or tried to. At the last second Connie ducked and the salty sea spray hit y/n dead in the face instead.
"Sasha!" Her friend giggled sheepishly. Y/n tackled her into the water, the two becoming completely soaked. Connie chuckled at their antics, pointing his index finger at them with his right hand and keeping his left to his chest. The two girls shared a mischievous look which caused Connie's laughter to die out immediately.
"Take him down!" "Hiya!" Working in sync the two tackled him into the water. The three resurfaced and giggled at each other's soaked expressions. "It's so salty!" Jean was a few paces ahead of them and had just drank some of the water.
"Jean what the fuck. You really need to stop putting things into your mouth if you don't know what's in them." Y/n stood up, twisting her hair to relieve it of some water. Raising a brow, Jean leaned towards her. "Says the girl deep diving into it. Armin says there's nothing in here but salt anyway, and besides someone was bound to drink from here. I just saved them the extra hassle." Y/n flicked water at him. "How gallant of you."
Eren's monologue interrupted them then, they way he sounded close to tears, his voice creaking at the last sentence begged for their concentration. "Will we finally be free?" No one spoke, whatever light mood that existed now diminished.
"way to kill the mood Jaeger." Jean muttered, but he seemed just as solemn as Eren. "Don't worry, I'll lighten it up." Y/n shoved Jean down, and into the water. He landed with a surprised yelp and everyone turned, broken out of their private misery.
"Really y/l/n!" Jean spat, his cheeks dusted with blush. Y/n giggled, until she was cut off by Jean grabbing her and pulling her down into the water. "Shit!" She gasped out, landing in the water beside him.
"Are you serious! Jean, I just rang out my hair!" Jean opened his mouth to retort when sasha and Connie interrupted, shouting "Dog pile!" Jean and Y/n's eyes widened. "No!" "Wait-!" As Kenny once said, kaboom.
Now, all four of them were completely soaked, but none of them really cared. They bursted out laughing, each pointing at one another in amusement. The reflex seemed almost unnatural- it'd been so long since her last belly laugh. Connie, Sasha, and Jean felt similar and the tears they shed weren't just from their chuckles, but something deeper.
Y/n left the three to splash each other, waddling over to Armin, Mikasa, and Eren. Eren still looked off into the horizon but the tenseness in his shoulders seemed lighter. "What do you have there, Armin." She spoke softly to her friend, marveling at the shell he had gently lying in his palms. "Some sort of shell..." His gaze met hers. "I'm sure there have to be hundreds here." Y/n smiled.
"Did you think it'd be like this? Big, breezy, and beautiful?" Armin looked up, looking beyond Eren. "Maybe something close...I just never expected to actually see it...let alone feel it." They shared another look before they turned to Mikasa. She had gotten closer to Eren, but her gaze was in the water. She was kicking at it, her expression unreadable.
"hmmm." Y/n hummed, tapping her chin. She took off, running past Eren and to the left of him. "Hey! Y/l/n, don't go out too far!" Levi called after her. At the left edge, she stopped, bending down and searching fervently in the waters.
"There must be hundreds..."she mumbled to herself, brow furrowed in concentration. "Ah hah!" She straightened, a single white shell lying in the palm of her hand. She ran back, to armin, mikasa, and Eren. She skidded to a stop directly in front of Mikasa, who gave her an amused look.
Y/n dropped to a knee, sticking up her palm. "For my favorite Ackerman!" "Oi!" Levi grunted from behind her and Mikasa blushed. "Thank you, y/n." The young girl smiled, gently picking up the shell. "You are my favorite y/l/n." Y/n crossed her arms. "I'm the only y/l/n." Mikasa smiled a bit brighter.
Eren had turned towards them, snapping out of his gaze from the unusual commotion. He had watched the two interact and the way Mikasa had gently lifted the shell and just as gently cradled it caused the corner of his lips to upturn.
Y/n noticed. "I can find you one too, Eren. Although I'm afraid finding one as pretty as Armin's is impossible and thus out of the question." Eren softened and shook his head. "No, thank you, y/n." She stood up from her position, and was immediately wrapped in a quick hug from Mikasa.
"Oh! What's this?" Hanje lifted something reminiscent of a burnt rock from the water, gently rubbing her fingers over it. Y/n drew closer, allowing Hanje to explain all of the oddities she found. Y/n nodded along, only half understanding what her friend was ranting about.
Finally Hanje gasped with delight- cutting herself off. "there's more over here!" She pranced away from y/n, pausing several steps away and bending down to search for more.
Finally y/n turned to Levi, who had already been watching her. He seemed so out of place it was funny. His arms were crossed and he looked disinterested...but y/n knew that he was just uncomfortable. They watched each other, taking their differences in.
Really Levi couldn't believe how different two people could be. There y/n stood, a breeze sifting through her hair, her entire outfit completely soaked, and a stupid grin on her face. She was some brat- he'd admit it.
"You're going to get sick, y/n." She smiled, wading through the low tide to where he stood. "You'd love the chance to take care of me." "Tch, I deal with you enough as is." The two had shortened the distance between each other.
The wind ruffled his undercut. "It's a lot less scary than it looks." Y/n gently nudged him with her shoulder. "I'm not scared." Levi gave her a sharp look and anyone one else would've slinked away, but y/n wasn't anyone else- especially not to Levi.
Gently she took his hand in hers, squeezing it softly. He narrowed his eyes, the silver orbs twinkling against the sunset. He interlaced his fingers with her own though, his deep admiration for y/n often undermined his "tough guy" resolve.
Y/n smiled at him, "Okay old man are you going to roll up those pants or will I have to?" Levi sighed, grumbling under his breath as he bent down. "If I get sick from this-" she rolled her eyes. "Levi it's water. The thing you bathe in, clean with, drink. You will not get sick."
He pulled a sock off. "Tch, I once saw you find a piece of uneaten bread hidden behind books in the library, and watched you eat it without question. I don't believe anything you say about what's healthy and what's not, brat." Y/n helped him fold his socks neatly next to his shoes. "That was one time!" He paused. "And it's scarred into my memory."
Again, y/n rolled her eyes. However, the smile on her never even flinched. She grabbed Levi's hand and yanked him forward. He gasped, but y/n only sped up. "Oi, oi, oi, wait! You're going to fast, we'll-" They splashed into the water, splashing it up to their faces.
Levi's eyes were wide, and he seemed absolutely at a loss for what to do with himself. Finally he met her gaze, and saw how she looked at him. Levi felt his cheeks flush. "Tch, fine it's not as bad as I thought." He turned to leave, but she yanked him back to her.
"hey, hey, hey mateo, mateo." She pulled him so that his side was resting against her, he turned back to y/n. "Stay awhile." She said gently. Her smile had changed now, and Levi noticed. His shoulders relaxed. He realized now why this was so important to her. This could be the last chance they had.
Then she kicked water at him.
"Y/n!" She laughed and backed deeper into the water. "You may be humanity's greatest titan fighter..." She began to move her arms around wildly. "But I am humanity's greatest Levi Ackerman fighter." Levi sighed, unamused. "You got water on my pants!" He moved towards her.
"The target approaches, seemingly irritated." She backed away. "Tch, Seemingly?" Levi's hand balled into fists. "He's going deeper into enemy territory, what will y/n do?" "Y/n should run." Levi got closer.
He jumped at her, and she tackled him, the two landing into the water. Once again y/n became instantly soaked, and Levi was now in the same boat, wet completely from head to toe. "It is salty!" Levi gasped out, his arms still wrapped around y/n. "Did you think we were all lying before?" Y/n laughed, watching as Levi struggled to get salty water from his eyes.
He pulled his fist from his eye, finally looking at y/n. She was soaked, probably more than he was, but she was as radiant as could be, her eyes shining, her smile wide, and her hair blowing softly. He stared at her several seconds, lost in how beautiful she was. Sometimes he had a difficult time believing that someone like her could ever be interested in someone like him. "I love you." He clutched her tighter to him.
Her face became more serious, and she closed her mouth. Y/n gently put a wet thumb on his cheek. "I love you too, Levi." They stayed there, in that moment together.
"and yet I'm only your second favorite Ackerman." Y/n sighed, going to pull away, but Levi grabbed her and to her surprise he laughed.
"What's so funny?" Levi and y/n turned, Connie, Sasha, Jean, Hanje, Eren, Armin, and Mikasa all stood over them.
"None of your business, brats." Levi said, crossing his arms. The group shared a glance. "Oh, no, guys wait-" Connie, Sasha, Jean, Hanje, and Mikasa attacked, jumping to tackle them, splashing and creating a mini hurricane.
Armin and Eren watched, still standing. Armin was smiling, whilst Eren's expression still remained cautious. The tension he had carried moments before abandoned him though, and it seemed as though now for the small moment they had, they all realized- only now could they truly live it.
Today was today and that was all they had for certain.
"There's water in a place where water should definitely not be!"
"Don't make me drown you!"
"Who's foot is this?"
"What's gonna happen when we leave? Will we still be wet?"
"GODDAMNIT I KEEP SWALLOWING IT! WHY DOES IT BURN!"
"you all are no match for my skills- I am unconquerable!"
"Yeah, I'm never doing this again."
Armin turned to Eren. "Sometimes... sometimes I believe that it'll never get better than this." He took a breath and Eren put a hand on his shoulder. "Right now...I think...I think you may be right, Armin."

Curveball, Chapter 6
Description: Two months after the ski lodge, life throws them a big surprise.
Preview: The words left Sienna’s mouth in a rush. “Olivia’s in labor. She’s in the ER right now. She was in a car accident and isn’t badly hurt, but it triggered labor.”
At that, Ethan felt his heart stop. His throat clenched, suddenly dry with worry. He didn’t remember breaking into a run, but the hallways of the hospital blurred past him as his feet carried him to the ER.

The baby shower began with lunch. Olivia got to go first, making sure to take at least one of everything. She took a seat next to Ethan at the table and leaned against his side as they started eating.
“How does it feel seeing a baby shower in your apartment? It looks like the baby aisle at Walmart exploded in here.”
Ethan chuckled. “I’m more concerned about what the conversation over there is related to.”
She arched a brow, watching curiously as Sienna whispered with Olivia’s mother and siblings and Alan in the corner of the room. “What could our relatives be gossiping about? My sister is writing something.”
“It’s hard to tell.”
After a few minutes, Sienna stood up and grinned. “We’re going to warm up with a little guessing game. I’ll tell a childhood story about one of the parents, and you guys get to guess who it was!”
Olivia couldn’t contain an amused smirk. “I guess this means I get to hear some more delightful Little Ethan stories.”
“Apparently so.” Ethan sighed.
Sienna glanced down at the paper and giggled before reading. “This parent used to wear a white bathrobe and plastic stethoscope and played hospital with stuffed animals. Who thinks that was Olivia?”
Several hands went up. Ethan bit back a smirk as her cheeks flushed a little.
“That’s right,” her mom confirmed. “She waltzed around the house in a little white robe, used every room in the house as a hospital room for her ‘patients,’ and insisted that we had to give them privacy.”
“It sounds like I’m finally getting some blackmail material,” Ethan whispered, earning an eye roll.
“Sure you are. Nothing will ever be more embarrassing than little you making out with your teddy bear.”
Sienna moved onto the next one. “True or false! When Ethan was really little, he had a fascination with Band-Aids.”
“Why do I think that’s true?” Olivia grinned.
“Because it is,” Alan confirmed. “When he was a toddler, all it took was a box of Band-Aids to keep him amused for several minutes. Of course, he put them on everything he could get his hands on. His toys, the furniture… the interior of the car on a road trip.”
Olivia laughed. “That’s adorable.”
“It’s wasteful.” Ethan shook his head, trying not to smile. The game continued for several minutes until people were finished eating.
Curious, Olivia watched as Sienna set out several unlabeled jars of baby food. “What are those for?”
Sienna grinned. “People have to guess the flavor by smelling it or taking a tiny taste if they’re brave enough. Just a heads up, the smells and tastes may not always be accurate!”
“Who goes first?”
“You pick.” Sienna handed her a basket containing slips of paper. Olivia reached it into, digging her fingers through the papers until she picked one. She opened it slowly to increase the suspense and smirked when she read the name.
“Zaid.”
Zaid startled, his eyes widening. “What?”
Amused, Olivia revealed the paper slip with his name on it. “You get to go first.”
Ines laughed and nudged Zaid toward the table. “Do it.”
He sighed. “I should have listened to my conscience and not put my name on that paper. I should have known better.”
Baz rolled his eyes and grinned. “Okay, Eeyore. Be a fair sport and play the game.”
Giving in, Zaid picked up the first jar and took a tentative sniff. He immediately set it down. “Is that supposed to smell edible? Because it does not.” He jotted down an answer on the slip of paper and reluctantly moved to the next one.
Olivia picked the second name. “Bryce, you’re up. Don’t chicken out.”
“You think I’d really back down? Never.” He picked up the first jar and smelled it, wrinkling his nose with uncertainty.
Jackie snorted. “I’ll pay you ten bucks to taste a mouthful.”
“Deal.”
Sienna handed Bryce a clean tongue depressor from the bag of supplies. “Here you go.”
Ethan arched a brow. “Are those from the hospital?”
“We didn’t have enough plastic spoons!”
“Stealing an entire Ziploc baggie of tongue depressors from a hospital that has thousands of them? Badass.” Bryce laughed and dug out a scoop of the baby food. He put it in his mouth, immediately making a face.
“Ten dollars,” Jackie reminded him.
Bryce swallowed it and tried not to gag. “That… was gross. Zaid, I’ll do your clinic hours if you try it.”
Zaid rolled his eyes. “Do I look like a moron? Don’t answer that.”
After a few more games, they sat down to open the inordinate number of presents occupying their apartment. Olivia grabbed the first one and dug through the tissue paper until she found two tiny sets of pajamas designed to look like scrubs.
“These are so cute!”
Elijah grinned. “You’re welcome.”
Olivia picked a large present from her mom and nudged it toward Ethan. “Open that.”
Ethan removed the paper, exposing a box that seemed to contain some sort of sophisticated trash can. “What in god’s name is this?”
Rebecca laughed. “It’s a diaper genie! It’s basically a fancy trash can that’s supposed to contain the diaper smell inside them.”
“These exist?”
Rebecca chuckled. “Yes, and believe me, you’ll need it. If not for the diaper smell, then to stop them from getting into it when they learn to walk. When Olivia was a year old, she felt like knocking over a trash can full of diapers. Worst mess I ever had to clean up.”
“Really, Mom?” Olivia groaned. She opened the next present, which was from Sienna. She opened it and grinned as she dug out two stuffed dolphins, as well as two little onesies with dolphins on them.
“What do you think?”
“I love them!” Olivia folded the tiny outfits and put them back in the bag. She opened several more gifts, collecting plenty of clothes, diapers, and other necessities. When she opened the present from Baz, she giggled and held up the four matching sets of Christmas pajamas.
Ethan stared at them, his expression blank. “It’s October.”
Baz grinned. “So?”
“These are perfect. And I will make it my life’s goal to get Ethan to wear his.” Olivia gave Ethan a pointed look, wordlessly telling him he would not win the argument even if it wouldn’t happen for another two months.
Once most of her guests had left, Olivia curled up on the couch and rummaged through the gifts. Bryce and Sienna stayed to help her family clean up while Ethan helped her sort through their presents.
“I think this is my favorite.” She held up the picture frame from Alan, containing a copy of one of their sonograms and an empty slot they would use for a newborn picture when the twins were born.
Ethan thumbed through the customized journal from Naveen. His other hand subconsciously rested on Olivia’s stomach, and a moment later he felt the now-familiar little kick against his palm.
Olivia smiled, lightly placing her hand on top of his. “I don’t think you’ll ever know how cute you are when you do that. I don’t even think you realize you’re doing it half the time.”
“I guess it’s become an instinct.” Ethan slipped his arm around her.
“A cute instinct.” She gave his hand a squeeze. Stifling a yawn, she rested her head on his shoulder. “I can’t believe it’s already October. By December, they’ll be here. I feel like it’s gone by fast and slowly at the same.”
Nodding in agreement, Ethan pressed a kiss to her head. “How are you feeling?”
“Tired. Opening presents and eating is a lot of work when you have two people inside of you.”
He chuckled and drew her closer to his side. “I’m sure it is.”
Olivia draped her arm across him and snuggled into his chest. A mischievous smile lifted the corners of her lips. “I never thought I’d see Dr. Antisocial Ramsey attending a baby shower.”
Ethan rolled his eyes. “You forget that I’m capable of surprises.”

It didn’t take long for maternity leave to give her cabin fever.
Since twins were almost always born earlier than expected, she scheduled her C-section for the 37th week. Even that was pushing it, but she wanted to let them develop as long as possible.
Halfway through her fourth episode of House, her phone chimed with a message from Ethan. She picked up her phone and grinned when she saw a picture of two baby onesies, each with the caption “Relax, my parents are doctors.”
She grinned as she looked at the picture to see that the onesies were blue and green to match Edenbrook’s logo. She typed a response, glancing at the time and realizing she would need to get ready for her appointment soon.
As she showered and dressed, a kick in her abdomen reminded her of just how soon their lives would change.

As 1:30 approached, Ethan slipped out of his office to meet Olivia for her 35-week appointment. He pocketed his phone and car keys and made his way toward the elevator.
“Ethan!”
Ethan stopped, turning at the urgency of the voice behind him. He frowned, seeing Sienna rush toward him. “What happened?”
The words left Sienna’s mouth in a rush.
He made his way to the closed curtain in the corner and shoved it aside, finding Olivia resting on the bed with Bryce standing at her side. She held an ice pack to her bruised temple, clutching her stomach with her other hand.
Olivia looked up, her eyes wide with panic. “Ethan, it’s… it’s too soon for this to happen! I’m not supposed to have the C-section for two more weeks! My… my water broke in the cab…”
“Shh…” Unsure if he was trying to calm himself or her, Ethan took her face into his hands and met her worried eyes. “Everything’s going to be okay. I want you to take a deep breath and focus on me. Okay?”
Breathing shakily, she tried to take a deep breath. The heart monitor next to her beeped sharply, indicating her rising blood pressure. She winced when a contraction tore through her.
Ethan looked up, forcing his voice to remain steady for her sake. “Lahela, who’s on the OR floor right now?”
“Tanaka, but he’s in a heart transplant right now.”
“Scrub in.”
Bryce’s eyes widened. “Are you sure? I’m her friend.”
“Bryce, please. We can’t risk waiting too long,” Olivia pleaded, her voice trembling.
Bryce took one look into his best friend’s panicked eyes and nodded. “Alright. I’ll do it.”
Taking Olivia’s hand into his own, Ethan let out a small sigh of relief. “How nervous will you be?”
“More nervous than I’d be operating on a stranger, but I can do it. I promise,” Bryce assured him. “Let’s go.”
Ethan moved to the head of the bed. He kept a firm grip on Olivia’s hand as they rushed to the available operating room. Her hand clutched his tightly, seeking the reassurance. When they reached the OR, she squeezed her eyes shut against the threat of tears.
“Hey…” Ethan’s hand cradled her cheek. “Everything will be alright. Please try to believe me.”
“I’m trying…”
He helped her turn onto her side so she could receive the injection for the spinal block. Olivia gripped his hand, wincing when the needle pierced her skin. She let out a long sigh as Ethan gently turned her onto her back again.
Sensing her need for comfort, Ethan brushed a strand of hair from her face. “Talk to me. Try not to focus on the risks right now. Tell me the likelihood of both babies being fine.”
Olivia’s face furrowed in thought as she wracked her mind. “Babies delivered at 35 weeks have a 99 percent chance of survival, presuming that they don’t have pre-existing conditions.”
Ethan nodded, relieved when she seemed to relax a little. “You’re right. Remember that.”
He let out a breath he didn’t realize he was holding as he tried to convince himself to believe his own words. They gave the spinal block five minutes to take effect before transferring her to the operating table.
Ethan’s heart thudded against his ribs as Bryce and the surgical team he’d assembled gathered around, ready to begin. “Please tell me this isn’t your first time.”
“I’ve done one solo and assisted on three. I can do this,” Bryce assured him. He took a deep breath and firmly gripped the correct scalpel. “Ready to make the first incision.”
Ethan rested his hand on Olivia’s cheek. His thumb gently grazed her jaw. “Bryce is starting now. Focus on me and think about the fact that in just a few minutes, the babies will be here and they’ll be fine.”
Olivia leaned into his hand and drew in a long breath. With the numbing agent, she couldn’t feel the incisions. She squeezed her eyes shut, focusing on Ethan’s fingers raking gently through her hair.
The minutes that passed ticked by agonizingly as she tried to think about anything other than the chance of something beyond their control going wrong. Her racing heart slowed just a little, allowing some of the tension to leave her body when Bryce announced that they were in.
“Everything’s going fine. Just keep hanging in there, okay? I can see the first baby,” Bryce assured her.
“Hear that?” Ethan laced his fingers through hers. “They’ll be out soon.”
Olivia nodded, her movements slowing a little. The monitor next to her beeped as her blood pressure suddenly started to drop, first to a normal rate and then a little lower. Ethan frowned, worry etching his features.
“Her BP is dropping. She could become hypotensive.” He knew the complication was common during cesareans and that there was only a minimal chance of serious risks, but that didn’t stop his heart from racing faster.
Bryce picked up the pace a little, keeping his hands steady as he finished the incision and instructed one of the other residents to place the clamps. “We’re ready to get baby number one out!”
Moments later, a cry rang through the operating room as Bryce removed the first baby. When Bryce passed the newborn to him, Ethan reacted with an instinct he didn’t know he had and immediately cradled his son in his arms.
Ethan’s heart skipped a beat, swelling with affection. Olivia blined groggily before slipping into unconsciousness. His throat tightened with anxiety as he reluctantly surrendered the newborn to a nurse for an examination.
“Olivia.” He firmly patted her cheek, torn between fear and relief when she let out a subconscious groan in response. A minute later, he looked up as Bryce removed the second baby.
For a long moment, time slowed to a crawl when the baby remained quiet. Just as Ethan felt his chest clench with panic, the newborn emitted a loud cry that made him weak in the knees. He held his arms out, accepting his daughter into them. His heart stuttered in his chest as he gazed down at the fussing baby.
He held her for a few moments before letting the nurses take her. His mind swam with mixed emotions as he returned to Olivia’s side.
Ethan waited nervously as Bryce closed her up. A relieved sigh escaped him when Olivia’s blood pressure started to creep towards normal. “Bryce?”
“Yeah?”
“Good work.”
Once Olivia was transferred into a private room, Ethan stepped into the hallway. He slipped his phone out of his pocket and started the call. “Dad? If you’re not busy, you might want to make a trip to Boston…”
“Is everything okay?”
“Your grandchildren were just born. I thought I’d… did you already hang up?” Shaking his head, Ethan slipped his phone back into his pocket and looked up as Naveen approached him, a wide grin on his face.
“I just heard some gossip that my two favorite employees just became parents.”
Ethan nodded, unable to stop a wide smile from forming on his face. Naveen pulled him into a hug, squeezing him tight. Ethan returned it, swallowing the lump that formed in his throat. “Olivia passed out during the C-section, but she’ll be okay. She should be awake in just a couple of minutes.”
“I won’t keep you from her. I’ll come meet those babies later. You go be with your family.” Naveen released him and squeezed his shoulder.
“Thank you.” The smile never left Ethan’s face as he quietly slipped back into the room to check on Olivia and the babies.
His family.
He liked the sound of that.

Wanda Maximoff x Steve Rogers x Reader

IF YOU’RE NOT COMFORTABLE WITH ANY OF THESE, DON’T READ!
For his birthday, Tony Stark had decided to throw one of the biggest parties you had ever been at. In only two days he transformed the living room of fourth floor of the Avengers Compound into the biggest party room on the planet.
You were the latest addition to the Avengers. You had a power that anybody had seen before, an ultrasonic scream that Tony Stark, as well as Bruce Banner, found fascinating -especially because you didn’t use any kind of technological device. No, your power was entirely natural. For this reason, you had been paired with Wanda. In the last few months you and Wanda had become great friends, given that you were almost the same age and that your life experiences -even if extreme- were almost the same. Also, you were the youngest Avengers at the compound and your friendship was becoming stronger each day passed.
“Tell me why do we have to attend the party”, you said as you sat down on the edge of your bed, soon followed by Wanda. You both laid down on the mattress and sigh at the idea of that evening. Undoubtedly there were members of the team that loved that kind of events, but you and Wanda weren’t among those.
“Because…” the red-haired one started, “…it is Tony’s birthday, who technically is our boss. And because the Captain will wear a suit and we love him wearing a suit”.
A particular common interest you had Steve Rogers. Since day one both of you made it clear to each other about the massive crush on the Captain and both accepted it. Being it only a dream, sometimes you found yourselves fantasizing about sharing a night with the soldier. “Imagine him wearing a light-blue-linen shirt put inside of pair of dark blue pair of pants. The ones in which his ass stands out”, while telling it, you found yourself shivering.
The same was happening to the Witch, who didn’t hide it, “Hopefully with his sleeves rolled-up on his arms”.
“I think we should have a cold shower”, you stated, getting up; you stretched out a hand to help your friend doing the same, “See you later?”
“For sure. I’m still not able to apply eyeliner alone.”
“Have you seen the twins?” Nat placed the flute she had between her hands on the table, then she took the seat next to Steve. She fixed the close-fitting black sheath dress on her uncovered knees and lowered its sleeves.
Twins was how everybody addressed to Wanda and you, considered your age and the quite special bond you shared. Yet, everybody learnt not to call the two of you like that when you were around.
“Not yet”, the soldier had a quick look around the room and confirmed his answer to his friend’s question. Once he went back staring at the golden liquid in his glass, on the table, he was suddenly hit on his chest by Natasha. He looked up and followed her gaze.
All the guests’ eyes laid on Wanda and you as both entered the room. For that particular event, the two friends decided wearing the same dress, but in two different colors. It was a knee-long sheath dress with no sleeves, yet high-necked; as you turned to reach the counter everybody became aware that behind, the dress, left the upper half of their backs uncovered.
“Good evening, girls”, Sam Wilson appeared behind your backs and asked for a drink at the bartender, “What are your plans? Kill everyone in this room?”
You shared a look with Wanda and both giggled, before turning to your friend, “Probably” your friend said.
“Or probably just one”, you added having a quick look around and lying your eyes over the Captain, now busy talking with a bunch of apparently-wealth men, behind them stood their wives and girlfriends.
Sam burst out laughing when he acknowledged what, or better who, the two of you were aiming for, “Good luck then”, and he left. Your best friend couldn’t help but search for Steve’s gaze once more. As a matter of fact, Wanda and you had never lost him for more than ten seconds; as if he was your target that night.
In fact, he was.
And he acknowledged your eyes on him as he walked across the room and sat down on the nearest couch he’d found. Legs slightly spread and head folded on his left side, an amused smirk coming up. If he was surprised by the twins’ outfits, he managed not to show it to anyone. That night he drew all women’s attention -married, engaged, in a relationship-, yet he acted like he hadn’t noticed it. Steve Rogers hated acknowledging it, but his attention was all on Wanda and you, who chose to wear the same dress, still in two colors. Steve refused to believe they chose blue and red because they were the only colors available, instead he thought you wore them for him.
His colors.
The Captain switched his eyes between Wanda and Y/N, who were dancing at the center of the dancefloor. For the couch he was sat on, he had a clear view of the two of you moving your hips and letting your hair free to be. He didn’t hold it back when two young boys came behind your backs and laid their hands on the girls’ waists.
Enough was enough.
“Girls, a word”, Steve didn’t wait for the two of you to agree with him, or simply consciously follow him, he grabbed your wrists and dragged you into his office -not far away from the place the party was going on. He pulled you in the room and forced you to sit down on two chairs, “What was that?”
Between the two, you were the most stubborn -you hated being scolded. Especially from the man you loved -the one you dreamt about at night, “We were just having fun. That’s what people do at parties”, you said trying to get up, but Steve put his hand on your shoulder and applied enough pressure to make you sit again.
“Enough parting for you two tonight.”
“What did I do?” Wanda spoke up, irritated by the Captain’s voice tone, “Can I-“
“No, we’re not going to ask to go back there”, you got up -this time making sure you were out of Steve’s look-, “C’mon”, you took Wanda’s hand and together you began approaching the door.
Little did you two know the Captain had locked the three of you inside the office, “Guess you can’t go anywhere without these”. Steve was leaning against the desk, shaking the keys in his hand.
“So, what? Are we staying here the whole night and wait for all the guests to be gone?”
“I have a better idea”, you said with her unique naughty smirk on, suddenly coming up with an idea. You approached Wanda and whispered to her ear your plan, knowing that she would be more than concordant with you.
Rogers couldn’t hear what the two were talking about but, by the look you two shared, he knew something was going to happen to him, “I’m not going to fight you”.
“Oh, we’re not”, your smirk never came off of your face, and slowly starts walking towards him.
The same did Wanda, next to you, “Not at all”.
Steve didn’t know what to do; he clearly didn’t know what was going on. Better, he had a vague idea, yet he refused to believe so, “Girls…” the soldier backed off until he hit the wall.
There was no way to escape.
“Not so bossy now, aren’t you?” your voice voice echoed in the empty room, with one last step you were now facing the blonde man, “Captain?”
He didn’t lose his control; he stood still and straight against the cold door. The closest the two girls got, the breathless he became. You were a few inches away from the Captain’s face when the smirk on your face disappeared and you turned to Wanda. And you kissed her. You literally made your lips crush against Wanda’s and cupped her head. At that sight Steve swallowed hard, not able to say anything to stop you two. He couldn’t. He wouldn’t. The built man stared at the girl’s lips on each other’s face; the Witch’s tongue in your mouth. He felt his pants and underwear getting tighter and tighter, his jaw and his fists clenching as he watched you two being so intimate and provocative. He just couldn’t take his eyes off of you.
“Girls, don’t play with fire”, the Captain warned you, closing his eyes and hoping you would have listened to him.
Yet, you and Wanda didn’t.
Instead, your friend broke the kiss and turned to the Super Soldier standing in front of them. She can’t say if he was shocked or excited -or both-, but she found the answer when she let her eyes wander on his body. “Looks like we’ve made the Captain hard”, she stated, switching her eyes between the bulge in his pants and you.
“I’m sure we can do something to make you feel better”, you slowly kneeled down and, with a rapid movement, unbuckled his belt and undid his pants, lowering them up to his ankles. You couldn’t help but look at him while her hand slipped into his underwear and grasped his already hard cock. She pulled it out and stared at it, her mouth watery, before licking the pre-cum on the tip. All of a sudden you felt a strong hand on your hair and looked up; Steve was holding your hair with one hand and Wanda’s with the other, his lips on the Witch’s.
“Suck it”, those words were capable of make you shiver.
You licked the entire length, while your hand gently massaged his balls; when the grip among your hair tightened, you smirked and eventually put your lips on Steve’s pulsating pinkish cock. You started slowly, letting your tongue wander on his evident veins; the pace gradually increased.
Steve liked it; or, at least, that’s what you could state, given the moans coming from his mouth -currently on Wanda’s neck. Again, he put his hand among your hair and buried his cock in you mouth. Entirely. You widened your eyes but managed to take it in and not throw up. His manners, the possession he was showing, it was anything he had shown before. Perhaps none of the Avengers knew that part of him.
That’s why Y/N and Wanda weren’t expect Steve to be like that under the sheets.
He suddenly removed his cock from your mouth and, with a tug in your hair, forced you to look up at him, “Want me to cum in your mouth? Or over that pretty face of yours?”
You and Wanda were completely shocked by his behavior. You exchanged an ashen look, yet Steve caught them, “Maybe I should just wait”. Having said that, the super soldier grabbed the both of them by their waists and lifted them up, effortlessly.
Both caught by surprise, both the girls let out a gasp when he opened the door and walked down the hall, careless if anyone was there; once in front of his bedroom, Steve kicked the door open.
“On the bed”, he ordered in a tone which didn’t allow any kind of reply. Neither a discord.
You were already more than wet, only waiting for him to let you reach your climax over and over again. Yet your plans weren’t Steve’s.
“Clothes off”, he gave another order and sat down on the armchair in front of the bed. His eyes fixed on his colleagues, kneeled on his bed and about to strip for him. As you unzipped Wanda’s dress, Steve felt his boner was becoming harder and harder. He brought his right hand down to his clothed crotch and softly rubbed it -not wanting to cum in his pants.
The Witch was wearing a see-through black underwear. You had a similar underwear on, though it was dark red.
“Kiss”, a smirk came up onto his face, while he unbuttoned his pants and let his hard cock spring free. Steve slowly stroked it, his eyes-full of lust- still on the two girls, as you cupped Wanda’s face and gently trapped the Witch’s lips into yours. Your tongues danced together; a stream of saliva dripped from both of your chins. “Wanda, unclasp Y/N’s bra”.
Without even opening her eyes, Wanda’s hands reached your back and her fingers quickly unfastened the opening of your bra, leaving your breasts free. Unconsciously your left hand reached the slip you were wearing, and your fingers slipped in.
In a matter of seconds Steve got up and approached the two, though he didn’t climb on the bed. He grabbed your arm and put it at the base of your back, “Have I told you to do it?”, as your answer was late, Steve said: “Answer me!”
“N-no.”
He tightened the grasp around your arm, “What was that?”
“No, Captain”, you soon corrected yourself, batting your eyes, “I’m sorry, Captain”, you added in a lustful tone.
The way you pronounced it, the way you were looking at him through you long eyelashes, did nothing but turn him on even more, “Since you’ve been a naughty girl, you’ll be watching”. He made Wanda stop and dragged you off the bed, then he forced you on the chair he was sat before and said: “Enjoy the show”. He went back to Wanda, he quickly made her face the sheets and tied her hands behind her back and gently caressed her ass, “Are you ready?”
The girl nodded without taking her eyes off of Steve’s face, even when he put the tip of his cock to her entrance, “So wet for me, aren’t you?”, he rubbed his index and middle fingers on her folds, her juices all over his fingers, “Here, taste yourself”.
As soon as Wanda had opened her mouth, Roger’s fingers slipped into it, leaving behind them a sweet trace. Tasting herself aroused her even more; somehow, she was becoming wetter and the knot in her stomach tightened.
She was about to cum.
And she wasn’t the only one; on the chair you clenched your tights, trying to ease the pain coming from your pulsating clit -horny because of what was going on not far away from you. Steve had buried Wanda’s face into the mattress, her ass in the air, and was about to make his way into her -but, before, he glanced over you with a smirk on his face.
Without a warning, the Captain thrusted himself into Wanda, making her scream against the sheets.
“We don’t want anybody to hear us, do we?” the girl under him nodded as she made her best not to scream while Steve increased his pace. It was an unhuman speed. Something Wanda had never experienced before. And it was breathtaking.
Steve grasped Wanda’s throat, pulling her up until her back hit his chest, he grabbed her chin and turned her towards you -clearly in pain on the chair. Your chest raised up and down and your breath was heavy; the Captain didn’t allow you to touch herself, but you soon discovered it wasn’t necessary. You were about to come only by seeing them having sex.
“Bring her closer.”
Wanda followed his order and used her mgaic to pull your chair closer to them. A second after you were looking at Steve quickly thrusting in and out from your best friend. Some drops of Wanda’s juices squirted over your face and you licked it, pleased with yourself.
“Look at our bad girl, wanting to taste you”, Steve noticed it and it did nothing but let his smirk grow over his face, “Wanda, do you want her to taste you?”
Wanda was on edge, really close to cum over the Captain’s cock, and it made it difficult to answer his question. She raised her head and looked over her shoulder to see the built man looking at her and you, ready to jump on the bed at Steve’s command.
He had two girls in the palm of his hand.
“Y-yes, Captain”, Wanda whispered, feeling the knot in her stomach tightening more and more. She felt the mattress caving in as her best friend put her knee onto it.
“Face here, baby girl”, he gestured you to lay down right under Wanda’s entrance, where he’s thrusting deep in her up to her climax. Steve roughly grabbed your hair and buried your face into Wanda’s folds, “How does it feel, sweetheart?”
“G-great”, Wanda was almost unable to speak, as her climax approached, and her moans filled the room. She closed her eyes and pressed her face onto the pillows, releasing her screams. The Witch felt her legs shaking, then a strong grip on both her tights; she lowered her gaze and saw her best friend, smiling at her and licking her completely opened folds. The view of her juices, mixed with Steve’s cum, dripping from another girl’s chin was enough for her to come again.
“Now, what should I do with you and your bouncing tits?” as he ended covering your face with his cum, he lowered himself, “I should punish you”, he giggled and stand up, stretching a hand for you to get up as well. He looked into your eyes, sparkling and full of lust, and he came up with the perfect punishment for his naughty girl. Steve tossed you on the bed and wide-opened your legs, a moment after his full length was inside you.
You were breathless and when you understood he wouldn’t move, you moaned: “Fuck”, desperately trying not to let out one of her screams, “Please…move”, you said, feeling his cock still almost in her stomach.
“Gladly”, he thrusted into you once, with all his force and your moans pleased him, “Sweetheart, come here”, he brushed Wanda’s cheek and grabbed her chin, putting her mouth down on your clit, “Lick”. He began pushing his cock deeper inside of you, amazed by the fact that you could take all of that. The only noises in the room were your suppressed moans and Steve’s balls roughly banging onto your ass.
The man of your dreams was fucking you, really hard and roughly, and you weren’t the only one. You would have lied if you said having a threesome didn’t turned you on even more. Watching your best friend bend over you, sucking on your clit and shamelessly staring at you, made you cum in less than four minutes -absolutely a record time for you.
“Don't stop.”
When you heard it, coming for Steve, you couldn’t help but let out your moans and struggle, trying to resist the overstimulation. You looked as Steve kept Wanda’s head on her clit, not allowing her to move. “Please…” it was nothing more than a whisper, but the other two clearly heard it, “Cap-“, you voice broke when you reached your second climax.
“What a champ”, Steve said chuckling and made Wanda lifted her head and his eyes soon found hers, “On your knees, sweetheart”. Then he grabbed you by her throat and pushed you down on the floor. Both of you looking at him as if you were puppies made his cock grow in his hand. “Don’t open your mouths”, having said that, he stroked his hard a cock and in a matter of seconds he cum all over your faces -on your mouths, your cheeks and your closed eyes. With his hands he spread his hot cum more and looked at you, pleased with himself.
“Dress up. We have twenty minutes before the cake is out”, he opened his bathroom’s door and turned to you, still kneeled, and found you licking his cum from each other’s face, “Good girls. Now clean yourselves up”.

A Warm Breath from the Mountains
chapter 2
A Breath of the Wild fanfiction
Authors: @quepasta & @freshbreezesworld
-----
When I woke up the next morning, I found myself in one of the comfortable Rito beds in their inns. Zelda was sleeping peacefully beside me, her face turned towards me. There was something magical about seeing her in her warming nightclothes, sleeping beside me, surrounded by majestic mountains and a pleasant cold. I took advantage of the situation to watch her sleep undisturbed and gently stroked the strands of hair from her face. My arm felt numb under her head, but it was worth it to me to have her so close. Hopefully she would never know how I felt about her, because the closer we got, the more complicated it would get with her desire to rebuild Hyrule. It was getting to be time to wake Zelda up, so a prank came to mind.
Carefully, I pulled my arm away and sat up. I had to massage and shake my arm to get the blood flowing, but I didn't mind. As long as it didn't kill me, the sarcastic thought occurred to me.
I jumped out the window and landed noiselessly on the grassy ground that surrounded the guest cottage and grabbed a stalk, climbed back in over the same window and sat down cross-legged in front of Zelda's face. One last time I examined her contented sleeping face, which she always had when I slept next to her. Then I took the stalk and tickled her nose and ears. Hectically she tore her eyes open and patted her body and face with her hands in panic. I let out a laugh and almost toppled off the bed to see her like that. She noticed my reaction and stopped abruptly and just looked at me questioningly "Link, what have you done now!"
Again I snorted, this time it was her confused look. I tried to gasp for breath and at the same time explain to her what I had done, which proved to be a challenge for me. "Link!"
„Don’t worry Zelda! I only tried to wake you up. “
„apparently you did. Great job. And never do this again, whatever it was.“ Now she was annoyed and I nearly lost it again but I needed to focus.
„Anyways. Today starts your first lesson on how to cook. We have to gather some ingredients from the Hebra mountains, so let’s get started, because the day will pass before we even reached the stables.“
As I said that, I jumped from the bed and took off my night wear to change into my Rito armor. I was so used to be alone all the time that I forgot to warn Zelda. Of course she started to squeal. „Link! What is wrong with you, why don’t you warn me before taking off your clothes!“ I smirked at her to provoke her even more. „You can see more if you want!“ I said and received a smash of a pillow in to my face. „You’re ridiculous! “ she was about to burst out by clenching her fists but I reached over the bed to her and held her wrists tight. „Zelda I am just kidding, don’t be mad at me. You can change your clothes in peace, I will wait for you at the gate to the village. “
As I walked away from the inn, on the way to the gate, many Rito villagers greeted me heartily. It seems they weren’t mad at me anymore, I guess Saki did tell them, I was a complete fool, to ease their minds. But then I bumped into the the Rito warriors and even they greeted me and apologized for their behavior. I will have to ask Saki about this later.
I talked to the guard about the surroundings and if he saw dangerous threats around this area and he said besides the already existing monsters in the mountains, the area around the stable and the village was safe for travels. When I thanked him for his advice I turned back to the stairs and my eyes caught a goddess standing in front of the goddess‘ statue. She wore a full white coloured Rito snow quill armour and looked astounding.
She had her long hair braided to a ponytail and her face was framed in gold through two thick strands of her hair. My heart fluttered at her forest green eyes shimmering like the surface of water in the incoming sunlight. Her shy smile adorned her pretty face, which was framed by strands of her golden hair.
Slowly I realized I was staring at her for too long and as a result she blushed. “Do you like my new outfit that much?” she asked curiously.
Slowly and elegantly, she stepped down the stairs while I couldn’t get out of my staring even when she stood right in front of me.
“Zelda... You... You look like a goddess.” I said without thinking twice. As I realized what I said, my eyes widened and became nervous. ‘How did I let this happen?’
“I-“ I was about to start to say, but Zelda interrupted me before I could finish the sentence.
“Link, please don’t be sorry. I appreciate your compliment… and I wish you would say what you think more often.” Zelda folded her hands in front of her chest and looked directly into my eyes. She had an intense glimpse sparkling in her mirrors of her soul while she smiled at me in a way that I couldn’t lay my eyes off. It gave me an intriguing feeling.
"Everything my princess desires," I finally replied.
Even though I had only addressed her by her title, it slowly dawned on me how ambiguous it sounded, and I couldn't help but smile. Zelda giggled adorable in response. I scratched the back of my head, which I always did when I messed up things.
 "Let's get to the stables before it gets dark. We will need our horses in the deep snow to move faster. After that, we'll let them rest near our campfire so they won't freeze." I finally said leading her the way.
Zelda nodded in agreement and broke away from me. We then walked across the bridges in comfortable silence, admiring the majestic view, until we arrived at the stables.
"Link, why did you name your horse Altay? I've never heard that name before," Zelda asked as I picked up our horses.
I had captured and tamed a direct descendant of her favourite horse, before the battle against Ganon, and held the white proud mare by her reins so that Zelda could pet and caress her in peace.
My mount, however, compared to hers, was like the night itself. My stallion had black fur and a black mane that was cropped into a mohawk. His forehead had a white mark that ran to his mouth. His fetlocks were covered with longer fur - an indication that he could cope with any weather. Basically, my horse was the perfect mount for me; fearless, strong and not afraid of any obstacle.
"An old man I once met on my journey told me about a warlike people who were unbeatable on their horses. They called themselves the Altay Warriors, after a mountain of their ancestors and deities. I don't know what happened to these warriors, but I still found the story impressive. When I found my buddy, here beside me," I lovingly stroked my horse's mouth as I continued, "I knew he was just as tough as those warriors and gave him that name. He loves it when I call him by his name." I smiled and helped Zelda onto her horse, grabbing her hip and hoisting her onto the saddle with ease. I loved those tiny touches and the way she smiled happily as I did so.
"Thank you Link, a gentleman as always." She said and gave me the intriguing look again.
I winked at her and turned to my horse and mounted the saddle. We had both opted for the 'Travelling Saddle' as it offered more storage space.
“So, Link will you tell me now, where we’re heading? You didn’t tell me more than that we would camp in the Hebra mountains.” She asked as we rode our horses in a slow walk.
“You will see, when we’re there, Princess.”
“Link that’s not fair, I want you to tell me where we will go. I want to be prepared.”
“Prepared for what? You won’t need to do anything but study the flora around us.” I said as I spurred my horse on.
At a trot we rode past the felled trees as the cool wind blew through the long stalks of grass.
“Because I want to learn new things and be useful, after you injured your shoulder, you must have realised too that you can’t be always there for me. Let me at least learn how to hunt with a bow. And no – the bow of light is something else.”
The group of trees in front of us was often filled with Oktoroks, so I kept my eyes open, but we had been spared this time. I breathed a sigh of relief when we reached the huge rock face to our left.
“I will think about it, princess,” I said and immediately saw a glimpse of sadness in her eyes. She turned her head away and sighed frustrated.
‘As if I could ever refuse her wishes.’
We had barely reached the sand-coloured rock cliff when the illuminating blue light of a shrine in the near distance caught my eye and pointed in the direction. Zelda looked out for the point in the distance that I was pointing at and drew in her breath sharply. I looked to her and watched as her eyes began to sparkle like opal.
"Link, there's another shrine! And it's glowing blue too! Link!  Link! Let's explore the shrine!"
"That's the Bareeda Naag shrine I entered a while ago. That's probably why it glows blue instead of orange, since I completed the trial inside."
Eyes dilated like those of an eagle, stared at me in shock.
As we trotted on, I kept an eye on the surrounding area, knowing that a camp of monsters was hiding behind the rock face.
"The shrines you wanted to explore 100 years ago turned out to be trials for the hero with the mastersword. They served to restore my original strength and endurance. Ancient, mummified monks waited for me in these shrines and gave me different tests. Which amazes me though, because these shrines were created 10 thousand years ago, with the sole purpose of helping me. How could the ancient Sheikah have known this? But if they knew about our miserable fate, why didn't they take action against it? So many questions ran through my mind as I travelled through Hyrule with no memory."
I stared at the pommel of his saddle as I moved my hip to the rhythm of Altay. Absentmindedly, I stroked through the spiky Mohawk mane.
I only realised I was lost in thought when Zelda placed a hand on my shoulder, snapping me out of my hazy memories of the devastation.
"Link, why don't you tell me what you saw in the shrine? What was that trial you had to pass?"
Grateful for the distraction, I gave her a smile.
"Activating the shrine first was a challenge in itself," we rode past the ruins that surrounded the shrine as I continued, "Laissa, the wife of Kass the poet, sang me an ancient Rito song that contained the solution to the challenge. I quickly found out that through the heart-shaped hole in the steep rock in Rito village, the sun had to shine on an illuminating pedestal and had to be shot with a fire arrow. Shortly thereafter, a shrine rose up from between those ruins and cleared the way for me to take the next test. In the shrine, with the help of my bomb module, I catapulted a huge stone ball at a huge target that was blocked by crumbling stones and floating pedestals that moved back and forth to make my job more difficult. I only had to shoot twice, once to pulverise the stones and a second time to fire at the target at the right moment. It was admittedly one of the easier tests I had to complete." As I told her more and more, her eyes lit up with fascination, but then I remembered that I hadn't even introduced her to Kass, let alone Teba, the Rito's bravest warrior. The thought of Kass led me to remember the final verses of his teacher’s completed ballad.
"Link are you all right? You looked very nervous and troubled for a moment."
"I'm fine. I just remembered one of the freaky trials."
I decided to withhold Kass' ballad from her for the time being, as I wasn't sure if it was true. I just couldn't imagine Zelda seeing me as more than her best friend.
"Do you want to tell me about it? You went through so much before you came to rescue me, and yet I can only begin to comprehend what you've been through."
A spark of admiration flitted across her face, but just as I was about to begin to tell, I harkened and halted abruptly.
Puzzled, Zelda stared at me, but before she could ride past me, I grabbed the reins of Himawari, Zelda's mare, and slowed her down. She neighed loudly in fright, but I managed to shush her with my "Ho! Ho. Hoa!" to calm her down.
Altay sensed danger nearby and flared his nostrils. Nervously, he shook his head and exhaled loudly.  He was ready to face the danger.
I heard only the deafening snore of a Hinox, but I knew that if Altay reacted in such a way, there were Yiga nearby who could appear out of nowhere.
I could not hesitate for long, made up my mind quickly.
With my right arm I grabbed Zelda by her waist and dragged her from the saddle onto my lap, slapping Himawari on the back and we galloped as fast as Altay could.
Zelda cried out, constricted in my bent-over stance to brave the wind. I could hear a diabolic laugher, far behind us. I pushed Altay to run faster and quicker.
"Hold on tight!", I yelled against the wind.
Himawari galloped ahead of us, but Altay quickly caught up with her and sprinted past. We had to get away quickly, far away from any lurking danger.
"HYAH!", I yelled and spurred Altay and Himawari on.
The icy headwind whipped my face and froze my ears and nose. I hugged Zelda tighter to me with one arm to protect her from the weather while she wrapped her arms around my neck and buried her face against my shoulder.
I could hear Altay's powerful lungs quivering with joy. I heard every breath as his hooves pawed into the ground. I felt every muscle he moved.
My lungs burned with icy cold, but I gritted my teeth until we reached the crossroads to the Hebra Mountains. Once there, we stopped abruptly and Altay reared back, whinnying. I tightened my legs so as not to fall off the horse and pressed Zelda against me while pulling the reins tight with one hand.
Zelda clung tighter to me as she let out a suppressed squeal.
"Ho! Ho!", I shouted to calm Altay down.
When Himawari reached us, I released my reins, stretched out my arm and grabbed Himawari's reins as she charged towards us. I concentrated, tensing my leg muscles to sit firmly in the saddle, and pulled my arm towards me with all my might to intercept Himawari's momentum. I pulled hard on her reins, keeping Altay under control, and pushed Zelda onto my lap until Himawari came skidding to a halt.
I exhaled with relief and let go of the mare's reins. I relaxed my grip around Zelda's waist so that she could relax. Her legs hung off the side of my lap and her hip was pressed painfully tight against the pommel of my saddle.
"Forgive me Princess, I had to get us away from there as quickly as possible as I sensed through Altay that this place held some danger. I hope I didn't hurt you."
I slid further back in the saddle to move her a little away from the pommel, but I bumped into the pack on my horse's back.
Zelda let go of my neck and looked up at me.
"I could have ridden after you on Himawari, couldn't I?"
"No. I can protect you better if you're right there with me. The Yiga have the art of appearing out of nowhere and attacking you with sword and bow. They could have separated us by waking the sleeping Hynox and kidnapping you quite easily."
Her beautiful face was millimetres from mine, I couldn't help but gaze into her deep green eyes. Her pupils dilated, her lips opened a crack and honey sweet breath, clouded my mind. Feeling her chest rise and fall steadily, I realised my hand was still at her waist and she was sitting on my lap.
I tried to calm my racing pulse and deep breaths so as not to take any more space from her by my strong rise and fall of my broad chest.
Silently, we sat there staring into each other's eyes. Even though I was a disciplined knight, I was only a man. My gaze fell on her slightly parted lips. Magnetically attracted by her breath, my mouth approached hers.
But suddenly a thought flashed through my mind and made me jerk backwards. I was still her knight, protector and closest confidant. I had no right to kiss her.
"Sorry princess. That wasn't planned" I cleared my throat and tried to gather my thoughts. But then I noticed Zelda's sad face.
"Princess? Why are you so sad?"
Zelda furrowed her brows and averted her face. However, it felt like I had put a rift between us.
"It's nothing. We should keep moving or we'll never get to the snow mountains." She signalled me to lower her down. Carefully I hoisted her onto Himawari's saddle and we rode along the mountain pass, following the path.  A herd of wild horses crossed our path and galloped ahead of us, across all directions. At the end of the trail was a hut with a campfire and we decided to let the horses rest at this spot.
"What is this place?" Zelda asked.
"Hebra Trailhead Lodge. See that wooden ladder? If we climb that, we'll get to Rosporo Pass. From there we get to the Hebra south summit. The pass to the right of the mountain takes us past Corvash Peak Mountain to Hebra Plunge and Hebra Falls. But the way is a long one on both paths, I suggest making a campfire close to this hut, but stay at the pass.”
 --------------
I set my foot down lightly in the snow, huffing as the snow crackled underneath my boot. I had been walking around for at least 10 minutes while trying to keep my steps silent. How did Link always walk so quietly? He could run across a field and not make a sound. How many times had I seen him scramble up the side of a building, sneaking around the townspeople while goofing off.
Link had told me to find hot peppers and wild berries, and I had found neither so far. Somehow I convinced him to let me wander off by myself, though I figured he was staying close in case I needed him.
The quiet landscape around me had been cast in a yellow glow as the sun started sinking behind the mountains. The light hit the snow that clung to the tree branches and the snow sparkled in return. The reflected light from the snow danced on the fresh snow on the ground. I breathed in the cold air while I trekked on, smiling as I took in the beauty of it all. I couldn’t imagine ever getting used to the beauty of the Hebra region.
Soon I found a group of wild berry bushes and began plucking the berries into my pack. I wasn’t sure what Link was planning to teach me to cook tonight, but I was excited that it included fruit. The peppers had thrown me off, but they would be useful in the cold region we were in. Even if we didn’t use them for dinner, it was a good idea to keep them on hand.
After collecting all the berries I could find, I continued on. I knew that peppers grew better in more open areas and that there were cliffsides near the area I was in, Hopefully there were some peppers there. I forced myself to walk faster, I was losing daylight and I was supposed to meet Link back at the campsite by nightfall.
Shaking my head, I tried to get Link out of my head. He was only going to be a distraction. Plus, I was upset with him. Well, maybe frustrated was a better word. Frustrated actually explained a lot of how I was feeling lately.
I hadn’t let Link know, but after our almost run in with the Yiga earlier today, my sense of helplessness had only grown. He could sense the smallest sign of danger and had once again had to escort me to safety. Meanwhile I had been oblivious to it until I heard the faint laugh of the Yiga member. Even then, the only instinct I had was to hide my face in Link’s shoulder while my fear frightened me in place. Truthfully I was thankful Link was there and had the skills to detect such danger.
However, it had since dawned on me that my education as the royal daughter had done little to prepare me to live in the world that existed now. Of course, no one could have predicted what would happen. But out here in the wild, there was no use for arithmetic, or table manners, or citing the favourite literature among the nobility. Life here was driven by work done with labour and skilled hands. The civilians that still lived across Hyrule all knew how to collect and make the supplies they needed.
But I knew nothing. I didn’t know how to find more substantial resources, create shelter, make my own clothes, or defend myself. This is what I had been trying to tell Link for a few days now. But each time I brought it up, he brushed it off. Saying that he knew all of those skills and therefore I didn’t need to. Which is why I was frustrated with him.
But he had already promised to teach me how to forage for food and cook. That was a start, at least. And while Link was healing well from his fall, he still wasn’t well enough to do all the work by himself. Though if someone asked him if he was, he would say yes with an annoying amount of confidence.
I set another foot down, attempting to be lighter. I held my breath as my boot sunk in the snow, waiting for the sound of the crunch. But this time my footstep was silent. A small victory, but I let myself have it.
Shifting my foot to take another step, I brought my hand to grab the bow slung around my chest. I smiled as I remembered how excited I was to wear it like Link did. It was an extra great eagle bow that Link had in his pack. He had made a joke that it was weak enough that if I accidentally shot him, it wouldn’t hurt that badly. Rolling my eyes and threatening to take him up on that offer, I had taken the bow gratefully. It had also been another tiny win in my favor. Maybe my frustrations were unwarranted.
My face grew red as I also remembered that Link had offered to show me how to use it. For some reason I accepted his offer, even though I had been taught archery before the calamity. Archery was one of the few useful skills I had been instructed in growing up, although back then I didn’t care for it much. Also, I was a terrible shot.
I felt my hands shake as I remembered using another bow. The bow of light. The sacred bow of light had been given to me by the Goddess before I went to fight Ganon. The bow had somehow felt familiar as I gripped it for the first time. I had not had time to practice using it and I didn’t need to. I had used it countless times before, in other life times. Heading to the castle, I was armed only with the bow and my sealing power to face my enemy alone.
I shuddered at the memory and I gripped the great eagle bow tighter. There were no sacred ties or unfair duties with this bow. I could use this one and just be another girl hunting. The quiver Link had given me only had a few arrows in it, but I could target practice if I wanted to. Weighing the idea in my mind, I turned my head toward the horizon. I sighed as I realized the sun was starting to sink, which meant that I needed to hurry. There would not be enough time to practice and collect what I needed to.
Luckily the cliffs weren’t too far away, but the sun had beat me. It was now dark, the stars and moon finally showing themselves. I used the light of the moon to scan the cleared area by the cliffs, my eyes taking a moment to adjust to the dark. I finally found a few peppers growing at the far end of the area and began pulling them off their vines. I smiled and felt my mood lighten a bit, proud of myself for finding them. Even if I was late to the task. Just as soon as I was done, I heard footsteps coming from around the corner.
I turned in alarm, but relaxed as I saw Link come into view. Puffs of hot air followed him as he slowed his run to a walk.
“Zelda! There you are.” He smiled, and continued to walk over to me. His face was changing from a frown to relief, as if he had been worried about me. I felt anger prickle at my hands, why couldn’t I have made it back in time instead of causing Link to worry? There went my better mood.
“Do you not trust me? I am fine. I was about to head back to the stable.” I said, letting my annoyance show. A look of confusion spread over Link’s face, his mouth tried to form words in response.
“No! I mean yes I trust you I just-” He started. But his initial response of “no” set me off.
“You must really think I’m that helpless. Maybe you’re right. You gave me an easy task and I couldn’t even complete it before nightfall.” I said, walking back towards Link. I felt my voice start to get louder, frustration taking over. “And I couldn’t even be a few minutes late without you having to run around to find me. Maybe this is hopeless and I should just-”
“Zelda!” Link cut me off. “Zelda, hold on. None of that is true.” He said, his brows furrowing in concern.
“Well then why did you come running all the way over here? Like I am just some child you lost sight of.” I huffed. Why was I getting so mad at him? It was misdirected anger, I was more upset with myself for losing track of time today. I was about to continue when Link grabbed my wrists, bringing me closer to him and closing the rest of the distance between us.
He rolled his eyes at me, but rubbed his thumbs once over the top of my hands. Warmth flowed through them instantly, and my heart pounded. “I came over here to show you something. And I was running because I didn’t want you to miss it. Now stop being so stubborn and look up.” He said, sliding one arm around my waist when I tried to pull away before he finished his sentence. But then I stopped and followed his instructions.
A gasp escaped my mouth as I glanced up. The sky was lit up in streams of green and bright pink light. The light snaked across the sky, playfully shifting down toward the ground almost as if it were teasing the tops of the mountains. Aurora borealis, I thought. One of my tutors had told me about the lights in the sky, but I never had been able to see them for myself. They weren’t viewable from the castle. I must have been so caught up in my search that I didn’t notice the show the night sky was putting on.
I felt my arms relax and I let my hand fall to land on the top of Link’s arm which was still around my waist, but Link held my other hand in place to lay flat on his chest. I thanked Hylia for the cold air, giving an excuse for the redness creeping across my face. I gave his arm a soft squeeze, letting him know I saw what he wanted me to look at. But I kept my gaze on the lights. They were beautiful, like dancers waltzing across the night sky. Sometimes the green and pink hues shifted to purple or blue, but they were breathtaking regardless of what color they chose to be.
I finally forced my gaze away from them, back to Link. He had been watching them too, but looked back down at me when he saw my head shift. For a second I just let myself stare back into his eyes, and he searched my face as always. What was he searching for this time? Did he only see his sovereign and friend starting back at him, or did he see something more? At night, did he dream of my eyes too?
I suddenly became all too aware of how close we were. Link’s arms around me, my hands on top of his. Our bodies more or less pressed against each other. Of course he had held me like this because I was trying to push away from him and I would have missed the lights if he hadn’t. But he was lingering, he technically didn’t have to have his arms around me anymore. I technically didn’t have to have my arms touching him. We technically didn’t have to be staring silently at each other for this long, but we were.
I could have died right there and been content. But I didn’t dare let myself to think that this moment meant more. But perhaps it did. I remembered the moment the day before, when we had been escaping the Yiga. Had he been trying to kiss me or did I imagine that?
“I was being stubborn again, wasn’t I?” I finally breathed, forcing my eyes to look somewhere else.
“You were. But you always are.” He laughed. I could feel the vibrations of his laugh from how close we were. I still wasn’t over his laugh. A thing that only the Link from this time did.
“Well you were right, as you always are. That was quite beautiful. I have always wanted to see the lights and I never thought I would. Thank you.” I replied, giving him a smile in return.
The corners of his eyes crinkled as his smile grew wider. He let go of his hold on me, taking a step back. My hands fell back to my side and I felt the loss of warmth immediately. But he still stared back at me, his blue eyes almost glowing in the moonlight.
“Er, do you want to practice with the bow before we head back?” Link asked. His cheeks were red, probably from the cold. But a little part of me thought maybe he was blushing.
I nodded and turned to follow him.
As we walked to find a good area to practice, I replayed the past fews days back in my head. Starting from when Link woke me up with his prank, the compliment he gave me on the stairs back in Rito Village, then when evaded danger before I even knew anything was wrong. The redness on my face deepened when I remembered being pulled into his lap as we outran the Yiga on horseback. His instincts and strength were impressive, to say the least.
And just now, standing under the lights while being more or less in his arms.
All of these were innocent moments, really. But I knew I would replay them in my head for a long time. The image of his blue eyes staring back into mine would surely keep me up tonight.
And it was then an odd thought occurred to me. Blue was my favorite color.
“Is here okay?” Link spoke up, bringing me back from my thoughts. He was giving me a smug look, and only then did I realize he had led us to the flight range.
I was surprised to see the range after so long, but pleased to see that it hadn’t changed much in over a century. I sighed woefully as I remembered the countless times Revali showed off his skills here. Taking off on an upwind with his wings spread wide and shooting all the targets in a blink of an eye. Taking a deep breath, I hoped I would make him proud with the amateur archery skills I possessed.
“Yes. I believe this will work.” I answered, pulling the bow over my head and reaching for an arrow. I looked over at Link and he stepped back with a nod, giving me space to practice.
Suddenly I felt very nervous to practice in front of Link, and I now regretted not taking the time to shoot a couple of arrows earlier when I was alone. I fumbled with the arrow. The bow of light had been so easy to use. Almost like the bow had done the work for me, or maybe the adrenaline I had back then had made it easier to use.
Link stood back and motioned for me to continue. With the arrow finally nocked, I raised the bow with my arms shaking. I had seen Link jump in the air and shoot an arrow in one swift motion, with little effort. He must have been humored by my struggle, I couldn’t bear to look to see if he was. Pulling my right arm back, I aimed for the closest target in front of me. I could tell before I released it the arrow that it would miss, my shaky arms making it a clumsy shot.
The arrow in fact missed the target, whizzing past it to land in the snow. Still, I was encouraged by the speed of the arrow. I just needed to get better at my aim.
“That was good.” Link said, suddenly appearing next to me. “Here, nock another bow. If you straighten your arms more you’ll make your mark.”
He stood behind me as I pulled another bow out of the quiver and nocked it. He reached up and put his right arm on my right elbow, raising it so my arm was perfectly horizontal. His left arm lightly touched my waist, straightening my posture.
“When you draw the bow back, one finger should be above the arrow with two fingers supporting it from underneath. And you want your right hand to be right next to your mouth. Go ahead and try.” He whispered by my ear, and he stood back.
I drew the bow back, making sure my hand was even with my mouth and arms were level. I released the arrow, sighing as the arrow missed the target again. But it was closer, barely missing.
I continued practicing, with Link stepping in to give pointers. Every once in a while nudging my waist or correcting my arm form with a light touch. Everytime, my breath caught in my throat when I felt his hands on me. In truth, he was distracting me more than he was helping me.
But I didn’t stop him from doing it, even though I felt a little guilty not telling him that I had been educated in archery. But between me being out of practice and Link making me nervous, I was fumbling like a true inexperienced archer.
Finally, I shot three arrows into the target. While they were nowhere close to the bullseye I was still ecstatic with my progress. I felt myself smile wide after each one and with Link would give me a thumbs up in approval. His face beaming at me after I made the third one, I raised my arms in the air in a cheer. Link walked over pulling me into a big hug and swung me around in a circle. I laughed as he spun me, throwing my head back and feeling the wind whip my hair around.
I stumbled as he sat me back down, feeling joy fill my heart and spread through my limbs.
“I have a confession.” I said, laughing still. Link looked at me, his eyebrows raised with a smile still on his face. “Well I, uh, was taught archery back then. Obviously I’m rusty and I appreciated the pointers. But just thought I should tell you.” I looked down at my shoes, slightly embarrassed about my confession.
“So you just let me teach you something you already knew, like a moron?” Link asked, his voice playful. When I looked up at him I could tell he had tried to look angry, but he was awful at hiding the smile he wore.
I nodded and shrugged, glad he wasn’t actually upset.
“Shame on you, Princess. Shame on you.” He chuckled, shaking his head.
“I apologize! And your tips were still quite useful, thank you. They will certainly help me in my practice.” I slung the bow back over my head.
“Good. I guess that makes me feel better.” He stated, shifting his feet a little in the snow. “I’m not really ready to go back yet. Do you want to go find somewhere to sit? We can watch the lights some more.”
I stared at him, gasping in disbelief. “I never thought I would see the day that you would push off dinner. I thought you would be starving by now.”
He put a hand to his stomach and laughed. “Oh, I am. But it’s such a beautiful night, we might as well enjoy it. Unless you are ready for dinner?” He asked.
It was late already, it had been a few hours since the sun had set. But I wasn’t really hungry yet. “No, I can wait. Let’s go.” I answered, motioning for him to lead.
But Link took me by surprise, by tucking his arm in mine and giving me a smile before leading us away from the range. My skin tingled where he made contact, and I silently sighed in my mind.
I wished I had the courage to ask him about his feelings. Did he do everything for me out of duty? Out of friendship? Out of something more? These thoughts had kept me up at night recently. I often came to the conclusion that I was okay with the way things were. Having Link around and allowing our friendship to continue to grow was enough.
Honestly, most days it was enough. But moments like this, when he would do something out of his usual behavior that I felt the need to know what was actually going through his mind. Our conversation this morning only caused me to wonder more.
 However, Link’s memory was still fragile. I wanted to give him space and time to heal. Putting strain on our friendship, the one thing that was a constant for him, would certainly not be the best thing for him.
Link led us back to the clearing on the cliff. He let go of my arm to clear snow off of two rocks that were at the edge of the clearing, then motioned for me to sit next to him.
“Thank you.’ I said, sitting down. I left a small space between us on the rock. Looking up at the sky, I could still see the lights. They were fainter now, but they still danced across the sky.
“How is your shoulder doing?” I asked him. It had been a few days since his fall, and while he certainly was healing faster than a normal Hylian, I was worried he was hiding his pain.
“Oh, it’s a little sore and stiff. I should probably be stretching it more than I am. But it is feeling a lot better.” He replied while shifting his shoulder a few times for emphasis.
“I’m glad to hear it. You really had me worried there. And your head? How does it feel?” I picked at a loose thread on my pants while I waited for his answer.
“Good as well. It hasn’t really hurt since the first day I woke up. A little tender if I touch it I suppose. My ribs are still sore, if that is your next question.” He said, nudging my shoulder with his.
I nudged him back. “Yes it was. Well, like I said. I am glad you are getting better. A shame that you are such a clumsy hero though.” I teased.
His head turned to look at me, rolling his eyes again. “Hmm. I don’t think you want to talk to me about being clumsy.” He chuckled, his shoulders shaking as he did so. But then he got a serious look on his face. “I am sorry about that though, Zelda. I really am. I honestly should have been more careful. Never would I have ever wanted to cause you such distress.”
I looked back up at him and I could see the sincerity in his eyes. “I know. There is no need to apologize though.” I answered, feeling my brows scrunch on my face.
Link leaned down a bit closer. “Well, there is. And I also need to say thank you. For what you did, even if I was mad about it. You saved me, Zelda.”
Oh he was close, way too close to my face. I wanted to lean in closer, it would have been so easy to close the distance between us. And he was looking at me again like he did yesterday.
But there were things we needed to talk about. And I suddenly felt a little brave, I decided it was time to ask him a few of the questions that had been haunting me for weeks now.
“It’s what we do for each other.” I said, looking away. “Speaking of that. I hope you don’t mind me asking, but there have been a few things I have wanted to ask you for awhile now.”
Link tilted his head, waiting for me to continue.
“What do…” I stopped. I wasn’t sure where to begin. “Do you remember the first time we traveled to Rito Village together? Before the Calamity?” I asked. I decided to start small and ask him about a few specific memories.
He sighed, though I wasn’t sure if it was out of surprise or frustration. “Can you tell me a little more about it?” He asked.
“Oh yes, of course.” I said, pausing to think about which details of the trip to describe. “Well, we had traveled from the castle to Rito Village to get an update from Revali on how he was managing to pilot Vah Medoh. Along the way, we ran into some ice lizalfos on the way, but you took care of them. Later, we had dinner with Kaneli, Revali, and some others. Nothing important happened on the excursion, I just chose a random moment to ask you about.” I answered, fiddling with the loose thread again.
Link’s face scrunched up in thought, his eyes moving back and forth as he combed through his memories. Then his face fell and he hung his head. “No, I’m sorry I don’t think I do.”
“It’s okay, Link. Like I said, it’s not an important memory. May I ask another question though?” I shot a side glance at him and saw him nod.
“Do you remember obtaining the Master Sword the first time?”
“No.” He answered quickly. “I have tried to remember that. But I haven’t been able to.” He said, his voice quiet.
I sighed apologetically. “Oh. I’m sorry for bringing it up, Link. I won’t ask about it anymore.” I was worried I had pushed him too far before he was ready.
“No, it’s fine. Maybe asking questions will help remind me of something.” He said, lifting his head to look at me.
I thought about something else to ask him, and there were so many things I could have. But I decided to go a different route. “Yesterday you said you wandered Hyrule with no memory. Is that true? Do you remember anything about your life before becoming a knight?”
This caused Link to lean forward into his hands, sighing into his palms. He stayed like that for a minute, not moving. Then he pushed his hair out of his face and sat up. He glanced over at me and cleared his throat. “I don’t remember my life before being assigned your knight. Honestly, I don’t remember much, at all. Most of my memories are tied to the pictures in the slate.” He finally answered.
I closed my eyes, I had figured as much. But it was still devastating for him to admit it. I wrung my hands together, attempting to come up with something appropriate to say. But what do you say to something like that?
“So everything you did after you woke up, training to defeat Ganon, freeing the Divine Beasts, saving me.... You did all of that without remembering who you were?” I asked.
He nodded. “Yours was the first voice I heard and you helped me when I didn’t even know my name. I was told by everyone else what my destiny was and what to do. That was enough until I started to reclaim some of my memory. Then bit by bit, I started to remember you and the champions. I didn’t remember everything, and I still don’t, but I knew I missed you and the others. I knew I wanted to save you and see you again.”
He paused, and turned his face toward the sky. I didn’t think he was going to speak again, but he did.
“Seeing you safe, healthy, and smiling. That’s been enough for me. More than enough. Even if I don’t remember, I know I did the right thing.” A small smile found itself on his face as he looked back at me.
I smiled back, feeling my heart pound in my chest as I met his blue eyes again. What he said made some of his behavior make more sense. He was still the old Link in the way that he was always striving to do good and how devoted he was to his duty. But he had also changed, he was taller, goofier, and talked more. The weight he felt of being the one who wielded the sword that sealed the darkness now gone as our destiny was  behind us.
“Is that what you wanted to tell me earlier?” I asked him.
“Oh that? No. I’m still not ready for that.” He said, his eyes leaving mine for the ground.
“That’s okay. I can respect that.”
We sat in silence for a while as the weight of our conversation set in. I was happy we had made some progress, he hadn’t allowed me to talk about his memory before. But we were the only people who knew what the other person had gone through and it was time we began to heal. Together.
“I’m kind of hungry now, should we head back to the campsite?” I asked, standing up and offering my hand out toward him. He looked at my hand for a second before smiling and taking it.
And while I thought he would let it go after a moment, he didn’t. So, we walked hand in hand back to the campsite, with my hungry knight leading the way.
 ------------------
 I was already awake before the first morning rays of sunshine, as the issues of last night did not allow me to rest in my sleep. I lay on my back in my sleeping bag and put my hands under my head. I looked up at the clear starry sky, which slowly gave way to the light of the sun.
"Zelda." I whispered.
No reply. Just a soft breathing.
"Zelda." I repeated, a little louder this time.
"Mmhm...?" she murmured sleepily.
"Wake up please, I have something to tell you that you should know."
I felt Zelda slowly wake up beside me, but I couldn't look her in the face. Even though I loved watching her sleep and wake up, my heart was too heavy.
"I'm awake now, what's the matter Link?"
"Remember Kass the poet? He was the Sheikah Court Poet's student."
Beside me, I heard Zelda draw in a sharp breath. In my mind's eye, I knew her big green eyes were wide and her mouth was half open. Still, I was unable to look at her.
She waited patiently for me to continue speaking.
"On my journey I met Kass very often, he sang me ballads of ancient times and helped me with the song lyrics to solve problems in the respective region. But his main task was to complete his master's song. It was a tragic ballad about both of us, but it was mainly about you, to help me recover my memory. Eventually, I managed to help Kass collect ancient songs all over Hyrule, so he managed to complete the ballad."
I exhaled heavily as thoughts about the verses kept circling in my head without finding an answer.
"Link, you seem so tense... Is there something wrong with the ballad of Sakasai?"
an old, long-forgotten memory suddenly burst into my mind. A memory of Zelda and Sakasai standing close together, whispering and laughing, while Zelda had not even glanced at me. I was Zelda's appointed knight and yet she didn't want me around and always rejected me.
I swallowed hard.
"Kass told me that his master often told him how beautiful you had been - and still are. Kass said he would like to compose a song to match your beauty and wished to meet you one day."
When Zelda still didn't say anything after a while, I finally turned my head towards her. My gaze met her brimming eyes, waiting for the truth.
"Link, that can't be all that's bothering you - please tell me. What is it that you can't tell me?"
"I... I... just can't tell you it, Zelda. Please accept it. For now."
Zelda frowned but nodded silently.
“About that song Kass wanted to write about me, I hope he is somewhere nearby! I am eager to hear, what he would sing about me, and how his music would sound. Please Link, please let me meet him!”
I looked at the beautiful face next to me, stared at her, without saying a word. I brushed a golden stray of her hair behind her ear and smiled.
“Of course, I will do that, why wouldn’t I want to let my princess become a song sung for future generations?”
She giggled and cuddled onto my arm, falling in a light sleep again, while I watched over her, as I did back then, now, and forever.

Ancient Sounds 5/5
AS.pt.1 AS.pt.2 AS.pt.3 AS.pt.4
Tw: Mild blood, cult
The tapping, clicking sound of Oliver’s cane on the ancient stone was the only sound the blind oliveblood heard as he navigated the dark tunnels with ease.
He wore his black ice skating uniform; an outfit he never wore on the rink. It was sleeveless, to show off his tattoo, but had a high neck. It clung to his body like a second skin, the gems splattered across it like bloodstains glittering like fire in the faint light. It matched the black band that covered his eyes. A feather-shouldered, glittering cape flowed behind him, just barely kissing the ground, where his black and silver heels walked. The golden rings on his horn were traded for black-gold, although the emerald that dangled from the tip stayed.
Faint sounds, that would have been invisible to less-trained ears, drew Oliver deeper into the underground. Deeper and deeper he went, until the smell of fresh air was all but gone.
He was walking through a long abandoned brooding cavern, left to collapse and be used by wild lusii. That had never happened, though. Instead of a home for beasts, it had become a sanctuary for much rarer creatures.
The noises grew louder, louder, until Oliver could pick out the sounds of voices, music, and the clink of glasses individually. She rounded the final bend, and entered the largest, deepest chamber.
“Master!”
“The Master has arrived!”
“The Phoenix is here! Someone fetch the other master!”
The voices of Oliver’s Black Hand made them smile.
“Good evening, my lovelies!” They cried, only to be answered with uproarious cheers. The crowd parted to let them through, only to surge forward and crowd around at the same time, the members trying to touch their leader’s cape, cane, anywhere they could reach.
Oliver purred, holding out a hand to them and letting them touch his fingers, kiss his palm and knuckles. “Hello, my dears, hello, yes!” He crooned gleefully, as if he was speaking to grubs. He blindly cupped the face of a believer, stroking their scarred and pockmarked cheek, before releasing them. Immediately, the crowd surged towards that troll, wanting to touch their face, too.
Oliver snickered, as the crowd had moved enough to let her through to her place; part of the ground was raised in a gentle ramp, up to a perch that let her oversee the entire cavern. Not that she did much of the overseeing. Still, she stopped and turned back towards the cavern, her ears doing the looking for her.
She could hear the ever-so-faint buzz of the strings of lights that were mounted along the walls and ceilings, under the music that pumped from the speakers.
The smell of food to her left indicated the secondary chamber was offering food. The sharp smell of polish told her someone had cleaned the altar and shine on the right. Incense pumped from burning orbs on the ceiling, filling the cave with the smell of spice.
Even that, though, could not cover up the smell of rot; the smell of disease and sickness that clung to nearly every one of her underlings. She could hear their wheezing breaths, their croaking words from raw throats, the fluttery, uncertain beats of their blood-pumpers. Among them, those who were not sick still smelled wrong; mutant bloods, those with extra limbs, eyes, tails, or just off colored ichor in their veins. They held up those too weak to stand as the crowd fell silent and turned to look up at their leader.
“Good evening, my brothers and sisters!” Oliver said again, beaming down at them, “It’s been much too long since we were in one another’s graces. It pained me to be away from my sweet siblings for so long, my very soul ached to be near you all again.”
There were murmurs of ascent from the congregation. Oliver simply waited for them to be silent again.
“I can feel the pain you have all suffered since we last met, my loves. As always, the shrine is open to those in need of the Slaughtering Scapegrace’s light. The bowl is out for any who can spare their caigers for their siblings, and for those who need to take coin to cover their expenses. And my ears are open, to hear your voices.
Tonight, not only will you all be graced with my presence, and the voice of our lord, but I have a very, very special treat for you. But first- where is he? Where is my most precious diamond, the second master of the Apocalyptic Blight’s grace?” Oliver held a hand out, searching, pleading.
There was shuffling movement and the sudden sound of running footsteps.
“I’m here, baby!” The loud, bellowing, gleeful voice of Oliver’s morail cried. He skidded to a stop and fell to his knees before the oliveblood, grasping their hand.
Instantly, Oliver was flushed through with the pinkest, palest adoration. That was the voice they knew all too well, a hand they knew as if it were their own.
“Welcome home, Bohwie Akshai.” Oliver breathed.
Tumblr media
Bohwie looked up at his morail’s face and smiled, kissing their knuckles once more. He rose from his knees and embraced the oliveblood, who instantly clung to him in return, pressing their face into his chest.
“How I’ve missed you, my love.” Oliver breathed, her claws digging into his back.
“I missed you, too, Olly.” Bohwie crooned, pressing a kiss to Oliver’s hair before he pulled away.
Oliver smiled up at him, before she turned to address the watching crowd, still holding the cerulean’s hand. “My sweet siblings of darkened fingers, now I may tell you the wondrous gift I have brought for you!” She announced. There was a ripple of murmured excitement as she dug in her pocket. She pulled out an old, recently cleaned and polished, bronze pocket watch on a black chain.
He held it aloft, so that they could all see it. “Over four hundred and sixty-one solar sweeps ago, a man named Dmitri Akshai stood in these very caverns. He was the first troll to feel Neviserrath Apocriyna’s power, the first to be gifted his grace. He reached into Grimruinox, the realm of our god, and was duly embraced by the Shifting Darkness. He was named the Hierophant, for he was the leader of our band, the interpreter of our god’s word.  He founded the Black Hand, so that all may be embraced by the Horrendous Black.
When Neviserrath claimed him, none were strong enough to hold our lord’s might, and the Black Hand faded into the night. Now I, with his descendant at my side, have rebirthed the Hierophant’s work!” She clutched Bohwie’s hand and held it aloft, and the watching crowd broke into a frenzy of applause and cheers.
“From the ashes and fire, as your phoenix I was born, and with the Hierophant’s blood-son at my side, we gathered you!” Oliver cried over them, “You, our greatest, strongest, and most noble of siblings! While the Empire spits upon you, buries you, and mocks you, they are blinder than even I to the power you possess! Weak as your bodies may be, your souls burn bright enough that even I can see them! Tonight, let that flame consume you!”
Descending from her perch, she walked over to the shine, pulling Bohwie with her, and laid the pocket watch on the altar as if she were laying down a newly hatched grub.
“Tonight, my siblings of blackened grace, we call back the first of our kind, the one who began it all! We hail is name, only second to Neviserrath, in the hope that he will honor us, come before us, and know of our greatness!” He cried, grinning. He turned towards Bohwie, his smile softening. “There is only one more thing we need, my love.” He said, suddenly quiet, the crowd hushing so they could hear him. Holding up Bohwie’s hand, he ran his fingers over the cerulean’s palm. “The blood of our first leader rushes through you. Would you not give but a few drops to meet him?”
Bohwie closed his hand, gently squeezing Oliver’s fingers. “For our siblings, for our god, I would let you bleed me dry, my love.” He breathed, his voice trembling with excitement. “I need only a blade to do the deed with.”
Instantly, the crowd responded. The smell of steel was sharp in the air as each of them produced their own blades and held them out to their masters.
“Use mine!”
“No, mine!”
“Mine, please!”
Bohwie giggled, giddy, and reached across the altar to take one, thanking the troll who offered it. Turning back to his morail, Oliver cupped Bohwie’s free hand in their own as Bohwie placed the knife to his palm.
With a flick of his wrist, he scored the blade across his hand, and watched as his deep blue blood beaded up, pooling in the lines of his hands.
Oliver breathed deeply, the iron tang of blood burning her lungs. Cradling Bohwie’s hand, she extended it over the altar and released him, leaving him to turn his hand. She heard the blood splatter on the stone, her breath hitching in her chest.
“The blood is on the watch, my love.” Bohwie reported, a smile in his voice, “What now?”
“Now it’s my turn.” Oliver rumbled. Bohwie stepped back, and Oliver moved to stand before the altar. He pressed his hands together as if he were praying, before he reached up and undid the ribbon around his eyes. He let it flutter to the floor and opened his sightless, black and green eyes.
Oliver placed their hands on the altar and bowed their head.
There was a silent, tense moment, all eyes on the Blind Phoenix, as the oliveblood took a deep, slow breath.
Then with a bellow, he threw back his head and slammed his hands onto the altar.
Light and noise exploded around the shrine, the roar of wind and fire consuming the Black Hand leader as the light blinded the congregation. They cried out and shielded their eyes, clapped their hands over their ears, and shied away from the brunt, almost physical force of power that burst from the altar. There were pops and cracks as the strings of lights shattered and snapped. Ceramic shards hailed from the broken incense orbs.
All of it happened in the span of a moment, before the light vanished. Torches, set in sconces around the walls, suddenly burst into flame, returning light to the cavern.
The members of the crowd hesitantly looked towards the altar again, to see a physical, black shadow manifesting on the stone. It grew thicker, more solid by the second, taking on the form of a troll. The shadow moved, rolling off the altar and standing, before the darkness that cocooned it vanished.
And there, in the flickering light of the torches’ fire, stood the Hierophant.
Tumblr media
The elder cerulean blinked, looking around in visible confusion, as if he’d been suddenly woken.
Behind him, Oliver had pitched forward and fell to her knees, shaking and panting with exhaustion. Still, she pulled herself up and turned her head towards the older troll. Bohwie stepped closer and pulled her to her feet, letting her lean on his side.
“Dmitri Akshai,” She rasped, forcing a smile. Hierophant turned to her. “I am Oliver Maddel, your humble servant and successor to your throne. I welcome you, back among the living and among your siblings of the darkened claws.”
“Dmitri,” Bohwie began, “I am Bohwie, your descendant.”
The Hierophant looked between the two of them. “It is an honor to meet you, Bohwie Akshai, descendant.” He said. His voice was deep, rich, and firm. He bowed slightly to Bohwie, before he turned to Oliver. “But you,” He continued, glaring over the top of his glasses, “are not my successor.”
Oliver’s eyebrows rose and he stood up, able to stand without his morail now. “I do not understand, my master.”
“I am not your master, either. There is another. Neviserrath tells me they wear the robes, when you clearly do not.”
“R- robes?” Oliver repeated.
Bohwie suddenly gasped. “Musrio!” He snarled. Oliver stiffened.
“What about him?”
“Hierophant, his- his robes- they look just like Musrio’s! Only blue!”
Oliver’s mouth fell open in shock.
“Musrio?” Hierophant repeated. He closed his eyes momentarily, a blissful smile on his face. “Yes. That is his name. Musrio is the one who succeeds me. Neviserrath chose him, just as he chose me, then.”
“But- but master, surely that is a mistake! Musrio- he- he wants to be rid of us!” Oliver cried. She lurched around the altar and grabbed Hierophant’s sleeve, her face tilted up towards his, her expression pleading. “He wishes the Black Hand gone! He does not worship Neviserrath, only uses his powers like playthings! He stole our chosen child, the one who would truly hold our god’s power and change this wretched world!”
“No, Oliver.” Hierophant removed the oliveblood’s hands from his sleeve and stared down at him coolly, “It is you who plays with Neviserrath’s gifts. You were not chosen. You took your powers, did you not? Demanded our god to give them to you? You took what was not meant to be taken, only given. Musrio was gifted his powers, and his robes- the robes meant for the harbinger. There is no “chosen child”. The holy war you insist on fighting does not exist. There is only one who could ever dispel our god, but she is far, far from Alternia.”
“But- but I brought the Black Hand back from the ashes! I am the Blind Phoenix!” Oliver insisted, his voice cracking.
“The Blind Phoenix? Is that a name you chose yourself, or did Neviserrath give it to you?” Heirophant inquired, a soft, cruel smile on his face.
“I… I-”
Hierophant chuckled. He adjusted his robes and turned away, heading for the exit. “Oh, my dear Oliver Maddel. You have no idea what powers you toy with. You are ignorant, nay, stupid, to take what is not yours. Our god does not love you. You are being set up to fail.”

EVERYONE PLEASE WELCOME BOHWIE AND DMITRI “HIEROPHANT” AKSHAI!!!

Galactica, Chapter 67 (Group Fic) - TheDane/Veronica
A/N: Click here if you’re looking for previous chapters (or here if you’d rather read on AO3). 💫
Previously: Bianca introduced the world to her scandalous new girlfriend (in spite of strong disapproval from her friends, especially Fame), and Violet worried about Sutan’s friends accepting her.
This Chapter: Team Adult gather at Fame and Patrick’s for their annual chosen-family Christmas party.
***
“No, no, not that one!” Fame stepped in front of the catering girl, picking up the wine glass she had just put on the dining room table. Fame held it up, catching the rim of it on the light, a smudge of white haze clearly clinging to the glass.
“Look at this!” Fame handed it to the woman, “Rewash. Now.”
The girl ran off, and Fame sighed, annoyance at the inconvenience of it all crawling under her skin. It was incredible how she always had to go through everyone's work with a fine-tooth comb, the ability to do things right the first time worryingly rare.
The dining room was almost complete, a crisp white table cloth spread out, glittering baubles in silver and glass placed in between plates and cutlery.
They would start the evening in the parlor, the bartender she had hired ready to make drinks for everyone as waiters moved through the crowd with trays of hors d'oeuvres. After that, they’d come here to the dining room for dinner, while dessert would be served in the living room.
Fame had perfected the seating chart, making sure to put Raja and Sutan on separate ends of the table so they wouldn’t speak Indonesian all night, Karl and Raven kept separate as well so they wouldn’t snap at each other, while Bianca had been sat as far away from Detox as possible so he couldn’t question her about anything related to the very unfortunate situation of Courtney.
(Fame had every expectation that it would all crash and burn, and honestly, the sooner it happened the better, Bianca’s newest brain damage doomed to fail from the start.)
She moved a fork with the tip of her finger, making sure it was perfectly straight, another wave of annoyance rolling over her at the thought.
“Having a good time?”
Fame looked over her shoulder, just to see Patrick stand in the doorframe, a smile on his face, his hair still wet from the shower he had taken after Charles’ evening walk. He was wearing the outfit she had put out for him, the blue wool sweater making him look absolutely fantastic, the new chinos she had ordered perfect on his legs.
“Are you giving me attitude too?” Fame fought the impulse to roll her eyes, Patrick always poking fun at her attention to detail, even though he never complained when she made sure their life ran like clockwork.
“Oh never,” Patrick pushed away from the door, the smile still on his face as he walked over. “But you deserve it sometimes.”
“You’re so fortunate I promised for better or worse when we got married.”
“If this is for worse,” Patrick leaned in, placing a sweet kiss on her lips. “I’m sure I can manage.”
***
Karl braced himself from the cold as he pressed down the doorbell, a piece of opera he didn’t recognize playing out because Fame never did anything halfway, ever.
He had come directly from London, only stopping at his hotel for a quick shower and a change of clothes, the catnap he had taken in his first class seat barely enough to tide him over. He’d planned a week in New York to see his friends and get some work stuff done with the American head office of Elite before going home for Christmas with his family.
The door opened, and Karl looked up to see Patrick stand there, a big smile on his face.
“Karl!”
“So good to see you,” Karl smiled, responding to the tight hug Patrick gave him, the man quickly taking his coat and directing him upstairs to the parlor.
It was always exciting to see what theme Fame had gone with, the live string quartet that was seated in a corner promising him one of her more extravagant moods.
In spite of his desire to always play it cool, a smile immediately broke out on his face at the sight of his friends.
God, he had really missed them.
Raja and Detox were standing near an enormous white Christmas tree decorated with silver ribbons and glass baubles, the usual Persian rug exchanged for a pure white one he was fairly certain had been bought just to fit this year's Christmas aesthetic.
“Raja, De!” Karl grinned, his friends greeting him with hugs, Raja pressing a kiss against his cheek, the patchouli scent that always clung to her wonderfully familiar. She was wearing a blue suit with a deep neckline, several golden necklaces hanging from her neck, one of them so long it was tucked between her tits. She was stunning as always, but he loved Raja’s bitchiness most of all. The years had made her more diplomatic,however, the judgemental asshole was still in there--now, it just took a cocktail or three to get her out.
“Love the hair,” Karl raised an eyebrow, trying to convey how sarcastic that compliment was, Detox’s hair a shade of bright, fire-engine red. “Dyed it for the holidays?”
“How’d you know?” Detox smirked. He was reliably the worst-dressed in every room, tonight donning a red velour blazer, white shirt, red bowtie and white pants, hair only slightly more horrible than the entire ensemble. “It’s gone over better than the Halloween green.”
“Much better,” Raja drawled with a grimace, and they all laughed, which drew Fame over.
“Karl!” Fame smiled, opening her arms. “Oh look at you!” She pulled him in for a hug, pressing a kiss against his cheek, her hands as always surprisingly cold.
“Look at you,” Karl took a step back, holding Fame’s hands in his so she wouldn’t run away, Fame constantly fretting and correcting in her evergoing quest to be the perfect hostess. “Fucking stunning.”
Fame giggled, the flattery clearly getting to her, and Karl couldn’t help but love her. She was wearing her signature white, a structured dress ending just above her knees, the neckline classy and sexy, her blonde hair in a curly updo.
“Where’s your drink?” Fame tilted her head, her teeth biting into her red lip.
“I’ll go get one.” Karl released her, making his way across the room, but first stopping when he saw Adore. She was in a black dress and her typical loosely-tied combat boots, hovering over a waiter to snag appetizers from his tray. It was comforting, Karl realized, how much these people never changed.
“It might be time,” Karl slung an arm around her neck, his cufflinks almost catching on her hair, “to start paying a little attention to your diet, hon.”
“It’s the holidays,” Adore grinned, her mouth full, and Karl couldn’t help but laugh.
“You don’t have to listen to me,” Karl released her with a shrug. “But when you’re fat, I will have no sympathy.”
“I just love you fashion people,” Adore rolled her eyes. “Obsessed with superficial nonsense.”
“Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels, my dear,” Karl smiled.
“Well that’s a fucking lie,” Adore grinned, pushing her hair over her shoulder as she took his arm and led him towards the couches. “Have you ever had the cheddar biscuits at Red Lobster? Or any form of fried cheese?”
“Oh god,” Juju groaned, already sitting amongst the plush white pillows, her belly basically a perfect ball on her tiny frame. “I would kill for those cheddar biscuits right now. But I guess I’ll settle for you...Hi, stranger!”
Juju reached her arms up towards Karl and he laughed, bending over to kiss her cheek.
“Nice to see you too, Juju. You’re looking...uh…”
“I’m a fucking whale, you can say it,” Juju sighed, shaking her head.
“Nah, it takes all the fun out of it when you say it first,” Karl told her with a cheeky grin.
“Leave her alone, bitch! She’s glowing and gorgeous!” Raven came up behind them, looking exactly like the supermodel she was, not a hair or an inch of fabric out of place. She handed a full plate of appetizers to Juju, adding, “Here you go, love.”
“Really? You didn’t have to!” Juju smiled brightly, taking the plate. “You’re the best.”
“Come on Juju,” Karl grinned, tapping her leg. “You know she’s only doing that in case she ever gets pregnant, so we all have to kiss her ass and wait on her hand and foot.”
“Hey!” Raven exclaimed, a hand on her hip. “I resent that.”
“Am I wrong?”
“Well, no.” Raven laughed, leaning over to give Karl a hug and a kiss.
They chatted for a bit, catching up on everything that had happened since he was last in New York. If anyone had told him twenty years ago that his closest friend group would be mostly lesbian women and straight couples, he’d have laughed in their face. But now, years later, here he was, hearing about Adore’s newest lesbian punk band, Juju’s pregnancy, and Raven’s search for the perfect wedding invitations.
“Karl!” He turned around to see Fame, arms crossed and brow furrowed, voice scolding as she asked, “You still don’t have a drink?”
“Sorry, sorry!” He laughed, making a sweeping gesture towards Adore, Raven and Juju. “I guess I just got distracted by all this feminine grace and beauty.”
“Eat a dick!” Adore retorted, mouth full once again.
“Happily,” he shot back. “Who’s serving?”
Fame wrinkled her nose, taking Karl by the shoulders and gently guiding him towards the bar, where he was met by a bizarre sight, Patrick and Bianca standing side by side and chatting, both smiling and drinking what looked to be schnapps.
Karl had honestly expected Bianca to be public enemy number one of the friend group right now. Raja had caught him up in an email after he saw the pictures of Bianca with her newest blonde, who was apparently Fame’s assistant, Raja always the one to go to if you needed a detailed update on the alliances and altercations in the friend group.
He wouldn’t lie--he was a bit excited to witness the drama of it all. Unfortunately, in this moment, everything seemed disappointingly copacetic.
He was just about to say hello to Bianca when a blood-curdling scream came from upstairs. Detox took off, running up the stairs two at a time to attend to whichever one of his twins was having a meltdown.
When Kelly was little, Karl understood why they had to drag her around to events. But now, both Detox and Juju had established careers and plenty of money to afford child care at home, so it made no sense to him that they were there with the nanny instead of home with the nanny--though at least they knew enough to keep them blessedly out of sight, probably parked in front of a TV upstairs.
“Jesus christ,” Bianca groaned, and Karl nodded, the screams of children surely their own category of horrible.
“I was thinking the same thing,” he chuckled, and Bianca grinned, pulling him in for a hug.
“We need to get him a drink,” Fame said to the bartender, apparently unable to relax until he was properly lubricated.
“You’re been spending a lot of energy trying to get me drunk,” Karl said. “You don’t have any ulterior motives, do you?”
Bianca guffawed. “You two would truly be a match made in hell, huh?”
“You’d know all about matches made in hell, wouldn’t you?” Karl asked, a mischievous glint in his eye.
Bianca narrowed her own eyes at him for a second, then laughed slightly, shaking her head. “Good one, bitch.”
“Karl,” Fame whined, gesturing towards the bartender.
“Alright, alright. Uh, can I just get a triple tequila on the rocks?” He turned to Fame, asking, “Happy? This’ll catch me up quick.”
Fame gave a satisfied nod, but then Karl was distracted by his name being called from across the room.
“Karl!”
Karl turned around to see Sutan at the top of the stairs and he instantly abandoned everyone at the bar to go greet him.
“It’s so good to see you!” Sutan smiled brightly, pulling him into the tightest hug and holding him close, the two men locked in an embrace.
Karl had really truly missed Sutan, emailing or calling not the same as actually being with his friend, even though they were in contact almost every single day. He was so overjoyed that he almost didn’t notice the dark-haired woman standing at Sutan’s side, a pair of crutches under her arms.
“Violet, this is Karl, one of my closest friends who unfortunately abandoned us to go live in London,” Sutan said, punching him affectionately on the arm. “Karl, meet Violet.”
“Hi, nice to meet you,” Violet said, balancing one of her crutches to shake his hand.
If anything positive could be said about Sutan’s dreadful taste in women, it was that they generally had a strong sense of personal style, and this one was no exception. She wore a deep green dress with a high neck and long sleeves, the cut flattering on her slender frame and hiding her cast.
For a moment, he was almost impressed- until he noticed that she was barely paying him any attention, her eyes all over the room behind him like she was looking for something.
“You too, Violet,” Karl said. “I love this dress. Is it Versace?”
“Yes.” Violet glanced at Sutan, who put an arm around her, looking very proud of the incredibly mediocre first impression his girlfriend had just made. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.” After a moment of awkward silence, Karl gave a tense smile.
Good lord, this girl was dull as rocks.
It never failed to astound him how Sutan wound up with such basic bitches. He supposed that it had something to do with how laid-back he was: he almost never chose the girls; they chose him.
Although if his idiotic grin could be believed, he was strangely gaga over this one.
Karl knew he should have told him to just call Violet back in September, being ignored by her clearly terrible for Sutan’s critical thinking skills and decision making.
“Karl, you left without your drink,” Fame said, handing over the glass, and suddenly Karl was grateful for her relentless hounding, taking a huge swallow and letting the tequila burn down his throat.
“So…” Karl looked back at Violet. “I hear you two have been shacking up.”
He loved Sutan with his entire heart, but the man wasn’t easy to live with since he always put work first, wasn’t easy to be around - not even with a broken foot. But if Sutan’s emails were to be believed, there hadn’t been any issues at all, which meant Karl had to do his own digging.
“How’s that going?”
“It’s been great,” Sutan laughed, “Right, lovely eyes?”
Karl had to use all of his strength not to retch at that particular nickname, studying Violet’s reaction. Upon closer inspection, her face was not quite as pretty as she looked at first glance, especially the set of her lips--resting bitch face was an understatement, everything about her mean and distant.
“Yes. Great.”
Karl couldn’t pinpoint it, but her tone was terrible, dry and uninterested, like she’d rather be anywhere else.
“Can I-” Violet looked around the room. “I need to sit down-”
“Right. Sorry!” Sutan looked around, spotting empty seats near the bar. “Come on Karl!”
***
Bianca wandered towards the girls with her drink in hand, dropping a kiss to the top of Juju’s head before gesturing to the sofa.
“Mind if I sit?”
“Go ahead!” Juju smiled up at her, one of her hands resting on her belly, “Although at the rate I’m growing, there may not be room for you much longer.”
“Ha!” Bianca sat down, placing her drink on the side table. “So I guess I shouldn’t ask how you’re feeling?”
“I’m feeling like a cow,” Jujubee complained, though she was rubbing her thumb up and down, gently petting her belly. “Thank God this is the last one, and that there is only one this time. Another set of twins would have killed me.”
“I’m very glad to say I can’t relate,” Bianca laughed.
“Oh, come on, Bianca, you’ve been a mother,” Raven said, her voice silky smooth, lashing fluttering as she continued, “I mean you practically raised Adore and just adopted a new baby, right?”
Bianca knew, of course, that this was Raven’s sad attempt at a joke about Courtney’s age, and she rolled her eyes, asking, “Wanna get to the punchline, cunt?”
“There’s no punchline! I just think you’re a great person for being so generous with today’s youth,” Raven said proudly, and Bianca responded with another eye roll.
“Where is your little conquest tonight, anyway?” Juju asked, sitting up straight as Detox came back down the stairs, thankfully without a toddler on his arm.
“Working.”
“Oh...what a shame,” Raven clucked. “I was really looking forward to having her catch me up on Sesame Street.”
“Princess please, she’s obviously watching a big girl show like Dora the Explorer,” Raja cut in, settling down beside Raven on the loveseat.
“You know what, you’re both assholes.”
“Maybe we just think you can do better, Bibi,”  Raja shrugged, putting an arm around Raven.
“Exactly,” Fame piled on, perching delicately in a chair. “I mean for god’s sake, Bianca, I’ve seen her wear neon. You can’t be with someone like that.”
“Yeah, well, neons are back,” Bianca grumbled.
“Neons are great,” Detox grinned, settling beside his wife. “Very in amongst high schoolers.”
Bianca attempted a smile, but it came out more like a sneer. She’d been expecting this, of course, but it was still annoying. She looked around, craning her neck to try and spot her sister.
Where was Adore? Surely she’d be just as annoyed at everyone talking shit about her best friend, but she was probably sneaking a cigarette on the back terrace or hiding upstairs with the kids.
“I think she’s great,” Juju said, and Bianca was grateful for at least one person on her side, ignoring the eye rolls from the peanut gallery as Juju continued, “She’s sweet, smart, spunky, I totally get why you like her.”
“Thank you! See, this is why you’re my favorit-”
“But she’s too young for you,” Juju finished, and Bianca scoffed. She should have known there’d be a ‘but’ coming.
“I’ve always hated you,” she said flatly, taking a swig of her wine as the others laughed. “But come on. She’s in her 20s, what’s the big deal?”
“She’s on the wrong end of her 20s,” Juju said with a light grimace, Detox nodding at her side.
“No, she isn’t. She went to school with Adore. So she’s what, mid 20s? That’s not even-”
“She’s 21,” Adore said, choosing that moment to return, flopping down onto the floor next to the sofa with a full plate of snacks, casually adding. “She graduated early.”
“When are you flying to New Orleans again?” Bianca asked, and Adore laughed.
“Listen, don’t be mad at me. I totally ship it; you know that,” Adore said, handing Bianca a napkin with a mini quiche as an apology.
Bianca took it, chucking her sister on the cheek before barreling on.
“By the way, you’re all a bunch of hypocrites, because nobody gave Tan shit like this when he started dating Violet!" Bianca gestured towards the bar where Sutan and Violet were chatting with Karl and Patrick.
“Wait, we didn't give him shit?” said Juju. “Oh man, I gotta think of some jokes.”
“Bianca, listen,” Fame said. “The real problem is that she’s barely competent-”
“Rude,” Adore muttered, and Bianca rewarded her loyalty with a shoulder squeeze.
“I’m just saying, she already has enough trouble focusing on her work. I don’t need you breaking her heart,” Fame said pointedly.
“Look, she really has improved since she first started,” Raja said, continuing with an arrogant wave of her hand. “I see her growth, as minimal as it is to me. I just don’t think this is the best idea you’ve had regarding relationships.”
“Duly noted,” Bianca snapped, gripping her glass tightly, more than ready to change the subject.
When they finally moved on, she did her best to follow the conversation about everyone’s vacation plans, but found herself still feeling tense and irritated. She excused herself from the group to go get another drink, then instead headed upstairs to have a moment of peace and quiet.
***
Courtney pulled her coat tighter around herself, grateful that at least she now had protection from the freezing cold wind and rain whipping around her.  It had been a long couple of days--weather miserably gray, full of stressful end-of-year fire drills. She’d finally finished putting together the long list of Miss Fame’s business contacts so that she could approve gifts and holiday cards, and was anxious to get home.
Her stomach clenched when her phone began to buzz in her handbag, praying that it wouldn’t be some urgent task that required her to turn around and go back to the office. Surely Miss Fame had her hands full tonight with her party.
When she saw that it was Bianca calling, a big smile broke out on her face. She stepped under an awning to answer.
“B! Hi!” Courtney exclaimed, “I figured you’d be busy with your friends all night.”
“I decided to take a break from the festivities,” Bianca said flatly, and Courtney laughed.
“Having fun, huh?” She tilted her head, hand twirling a lock of hair.
“Oh yeah. What about you? Are you still at work?”
“No, I’m walking to the train,” Courtney said.
“How would you feel about hopping into a cab and coming to my place instead?” Bianca asked.
Courtney looked at the time on her phone, confused. There was no way they already ate dinner, it was barely 8.
“Aren’t you gonna be there for awhile?”
“I think I’m gonna skip out early,” Bianca said with a sigh. “I’m just not feeling it tonight. So, whaddaya say? Thai?”
“Are you sure?” Courtney asked, holding her breath. Of course, dinner and an evening with Bianca was about a thousand times better than the night of cup-o-noodles and Netflix on her phone that she had planned, but she also knew how important Bianca’s friends were to her. “I don’t want to take you away from them if-”
“I’m sure. Please come. I really want to see you.”
Warmth filled Courtney’s chest as she took a deep breath, her smile now so big that it threatened to crack her face in two.
“I’m on my way.”
“Great. See you soon, angel.”
***
“Where do you think you’re going?” Fame demanded, a hand on her hip. She’d noticed Bianca slip from the room earlier and had followed her, her friend now coming downstairs, coat on and cell phone in hand.
Bianca looked down at Fame, a slightly guilty expression on her face and Fame instantly felt her stomach clench.
“I’m...I’m sorry, blondie, I’m just not feeling up for the whole thing tonight.” She let out a sigh, adding, “I’m sorry.”
“You said that already,” Fame informed her, brow furrowed. She had no idea why Bianca was being like this. Of all people, Fame would think that she’d be the first one to be able to take a few jokes about her ill-fated relationship.
She’d certainly dished it enough to all of them over the years.
“Well, I am,” Bianca said, but made no move to remove her coat or put it back as she came down the last few steps, still clearly planning to leave.
“Wait Bianca, what about dinner?” Fame exclaimed, finding it easier to focus on food than her feeling of being abandoned by someone she considered her closest friend on such an important night, her stomach in knots. “We haven’t even had the first course!”
“Would you rather I left in the middle of the meal?” Bianca asked.
“No, I would rather you stayed and had a good time and stopped being so...so…” Fame was looking for the words, anger and fear and worry swirling in her guts.
“Please,” Bianca pressed a kiss to Fame’s cheek. “I’ll owe you one, okay?”
“No. No. This is not okay!” Fame burst out, refusing to accept how this conversation was going, how Bianca was being so incredibly selfish, the fact that she already owed her several ‘ones’ clearly forgotten by her friend. “It’s not okay. I really don’t understand this, we’re just looking out for you.”
“I know. But I’d rather skip ahead to the part where you guys are happy for me.” Bianca sighed, rolling her eyes, and it hit Fame like a punch to the stomach. “Which I assume you will be, eventually.”
Fame groaned. It seemed like Bianca was determined to take this little fling way too seriously, daring to prioritize someone completely new over all of them.
Fame only hoped that when it all crashed and burned, she’d have a functioning office. She shook her head, resigned to the fact that Bianca really was leaving early, skipping out on what was usually her favorite night of the year.
“Merry Christmas, blondie.”
“Merry Christmas,” Fame grumbled back, barely patting her on the back when Bianca hugged her goodbye.

Alchemy Lullaby (3/?)
Of all the changes that came with living in the castle, becoming a father was not one he anticipated. When Eugene encounters a small child suffering like he did, he gives them the opportunity to grow up the way he never did... helping them both heal. (AU where Varian is 4 and gets adopted by Eugene)
Chapter 3: Settling in.
Art trade with the lovely @finnoky, who asked for Varian getting new clothes and a nightmare! This was so much fun to do, thank you so much for being patient with me QAQ
Previous chapters here
One thing Eugene learned fast about Varian was his hatred towards mornings.
The kid was not a morning person; while Rapunzel rose and set just like the sun, and Eugene had to get up early to help the guard, Varian would happily sleep well into the afternoon unless he was physically pulled out of bed. And even then it was a struggle to get Varian dressed, with him sleepily complaining and moaning the whole time. It didn’t help that Varian didn’t really have any clothes of his own. All they had were the clothes the King and Queen kept from their hopes of Rapunzel coming home. Depressing, and also too small.
So, when Eugene pulled Varian out of bed this morning, he decided it was high time to get Varian clothes of his own.
“Good morning, you two!” Rapunzel called, bright and cheery as ever. It had been only a few days since the dinner, but since then Varian had quickly become a staple in the castle. They were almost late to breakfast because all the maids wanted to say hi and pinch his cheeks.
But who could blame them?
“G’morning Punzel,” Varian murmured. He curled further into Eugene’s arms, safe and warm. The kid would be bouncing around after breakfast, but until then he was a little cuddlebug. Not that Eugene was complaining.
“Are you excited for today?” The princess asked, stepping into place beside Eugene as they entered the dining hall.
Varian cocked his head. “No. Why?”
She laughed, ruffling the tyke’s hair. “Eugene’s taking you into town today. You’re gonna get some new clothes, and some toys!”
“If he behaves for the tailor, he’ll get some toys.” Eugene corrected, smiling at how Varian’s eyes lit up.
“Oh come on, Eugene! What’s the harm in indulging a child every now and again?”
“Yea!” Varian nodded. “Indulge me. What’s indulge mean?”
Rapunzel bopped his nose, earning her a giggle. “It means getting you a gift just because! And I think you deserve one.”
She’s not wrong. Despite the occasional hiccup, Varian’s adjusted pretty well to his new life, maybe concerningly so. Children need boundaries, they need stability! And this may be the first time he’s ever had that. Besides, he’ll need toys eventually, all kids do.
Eugene sighed. This was a losing battle. “All right, we’ll go get some toys. But!” He sent Varian an overly dramatic stern look. “If you behave, I’ll let you get a few extra. Deal?”
Varian’s feet swung happily. He bounced up and down in the man’s arms and nodded so fast his head may as well fly into space. “Deal!”
-
Varian babbled happily, skipping along with one hand in Eugene’s. It was like the kid never breathed, seamlessly switching between topics like it was no big deal. In fact, he kept talking right up until they entered the tailor’s. Then, his words morphed into a “Woah,” mid sentence.
Varian gazed around the shop, overwhelmed by the bright colors. He’d never seen so many clothes! And they were all so fancy too! He never had more than a few pairs of clothes.
“Mister Fitzherbert, a pleasure,” The shopkeeper said as he approached the duo. He was a thin man, with a long, pointed beard, and his hair kept in a low ponytail. Eugene had been coming to him ever since he started living in the castle.
Varian’s happy demeanor vanished almost instantly, being replaced with an unreadable, even steely expression. Even though Varian acted upbeat and bubbly to the palace staff, he was still nervous about strangers. Eugene knew from experience that not everyone was nice on the streets, and Varian unfortunately had to learn that fast.
“Hi Francis, looking good as ever!” Eugene chimed. He kept his voice positive to calm the child. “This is Varian, he’s staying with me. Varian, this is Francis, he’s gonna help you get some new clothes, ok?”
Varian pouted. “What’s wrong with my clothes?” He liked his clothes! They kept him warm during the winter and cool during the current summer. His shoes broke halfway through his time on the streets, though. He’d been barefoot like Rapunzel up until now.
“Well…” how do you politely tell a child he was wearing rags? “You just need… new ones. Nicer ones! You gotta look your best!”
It wasn’t the best argument, judging by the way Varian fidgeted uncomfortably. He clung a little tighter to Eugene’s hand, sizing up Francis, unsure if he was safe.
The man kneeled, never letting go of Varian’s hand. “Hey, you’re safe here.” he whispered. “Francis just wants to help. Your clothes were ok on the streets, but you need different clothes for palace life. I’ll be here with you, ok?”
After a moment’s hesitation, Varian nodded. “Ok,” he mumbled.
For his part, Francis did his best to appear friendly. “Right this way, you two, I just need to get the young man measured for fitting.”
The process was pretty straight forward, with Francis keeping his tone light and Eugene showering the child in praise. Slowly but surely, Varian relaxed.
“Ow!” Varian winced, flinching when a pin poked him in the side. “Why do I need to get poked again?”
“Beauty is pain,” Eugene responded deadpan. Francis rolled his eyes.
“It’s to make sure it fits, young man.” he said. “And it won’t if you keep squirming.”
For his part, Varian seemed satisfied with the answer. He liked to ask a lot of questions, his mind constantly whirring and wondering. While Eugene adored him, it got exhausting real fast. He couldn’t keep up with Varian’s mind half the time. Before he could answer one question, the kid would ask another. It was fine when they were simple questions, like why Rapunzel was busy, or when was bedtime. But the other day Varian had asked him what air was made of. What was Eugene, an encyclopedia? He didn’t know!
Finally, Francis stepped back, giving the child an approving gaze. “Well, don’t you look handsome!” he cooed, and Eugene couldn’t help but agree.
Gone were the green rags and ruined sleeves. Instead, Varian wore a sea green sailor shirt with white buttons and a yellow clip-on tie. His white pants were stainless, but for how long who knows. The boots were near identical to Eugene’s own, practical but stylish.
To put it simply, he looked precious.
Gosh, the old him would’ve laughed at current him. Gushing over a child? Flynn, kids are cute, but come on!
For his part, Eugene kept his cool. He gave Varian a grin and a thumbs up, earning a toothy smile back.
“What do we say, kid?” Eugene chimed, mimicking the phrase that he’d heard so many times.
Varian cocked his head in confusion. “You’re welcome?”
“The other one.”
“Oh!” Varian turned to Francis. “Thank you!” Then he turned back to Eugene.
“Sooo… was I good?”
Eugene barked out a laugh. “Yeah, kid. You were good. We can get you a toy or two.”
The look on Varian’s face was brighter than the sun.
-
Rapunzel sighed as she stepped out of her final meeting for the day. As much as she’d wished to go with Eugene and Varian to the store, she’d sadly had other duties to attend to.
God, that kid was cute. He was so curious and sweet, and yet the pain of his past shone through the cracks. It had been a shock to see Eugene come home with a newly adopted(?) toddler to take care of, but something about him drew her in almost instantly. Motherly instinct? Fondness for Eugene’s kind heart? Something else? She couldn’t tell. Whatever it was, Varian was here to stay for as long as he wanted, and Rapunzel would treasure every minute of it.
Speaking of him, a shrill “Punzel!” sounded from down the hall, followed by the pattering of fast footsteps.
She whipped around, and oh, she might melt at his new outfit!
“Look at you!” She gasped, effortlessly scooping him up into a hug. All those years of pulling Gothel up a tower meant Varian weighed nothing to her.
“Who’s this handsome young man? If I recall correctly my Varian doesn’t wear buttons!”
The little boy laughed, delighted. “Punzel, it’s me! I wear buttons now!”
“You do!? But that can’t be! My Varian doesn’t wear shoes either!”
Varian responded by quickly removing his shoes. “See? It’s me!”
Rapunzel bit her lip, desperately trying not to burst into laughter. “There he is!” She squished their cheeks together as they hugged. “Now, where’s Eugene?”
“Over here.” a muffled voice called.
Eugene stumbled ever so slightly, face hidden by several boxes. They were filled with books, stuffed animals, and various other toys.
“So much for some toys, huh?”
A red face peaked around the boxes. “He’s very convincing.” In truth, Eugene pretty much grabbed whatever Varian so much as looked at. Kids needed boundaries, sure, but they also needed a place to start from. And Varian, before today, didn’t have a single toy. All he had were the few baby toys the King and Queen kept, not nearly enough for an almost five year old. Eugene never had much growing up either. He’d shared with the other kids in the orphanage, sure, but he himself only owned four or five toys over his entire childhood cooped up there. If he was to give Varian the childhood he deserved, the one orphanages couldn’t, that included enrichment and entertainment.
Well, that and Varian was very convincing.
“Come on, bud, let’s go put these in your room.”
The child’s room was quickly coming together. He was given a bigger guest room just down the hall of Eugene, near the stairs to Rapunzel’s room. That way, he could reach either caretaker easily. While he still didn’t have much furniture outside of the typical bed and dresser, his bed was full of plush toys, perfect for cuddling into. A plush white rug sat in front of the bed, and in the corner of the room a toy chest was now full of puzzles. The bookshelf was full of a bizarre mix of child books Eugene picked up, and the classics previously in the guest room. It was truly starting to look like a proper room to be lived in. The rest of the day passed relatively peacefully, thank goodness. The outing and following room decorating took out most of Varian’s toddler energy, leaving him pretty tame all the way up to bedtime.
But it was at bedtime things quickly went south.
The moon sat high in the sky, its full light shining down on the small figure darting through the trees. He didn’t know where he was going, but he just had to get away! Get away, get away before they hurt him! He’s not safe here!
Where was here, again?
Varian skidded to a stop, his chest heaving which each breath, tears streaking down his face and blurring his vision. He hastily wiped the tears away. Just a few feet in front of him was a familiar face.
“Momma?” He called. His mother didn’t respond. “Momma!” He tried again, running up to her…
...Only for a large, black rock to shoot up in between them.
Varian let out a shriek of terror, stepping back as another shot up. Then another, and another. Slowly they jutted out towards him, sharp points gleaming under white light. Varian took one step backwards, then another. Then, he turned around and began to race back in the other direction. The rocks only picked up in speed, trailing behind him.
“It’s your fault!” His mother cried, her voice booming. “You rotten child, I left you for a reason!”
Varian whimpered, legs aching from the running. A stray rock shot up from under his foot, and the small child went tumbling down a massive hill. Down, down, down, he rolled to a stop on the forest floor.
He tried to pull himself up, but found himself too exhausted. He was cold, scared, and tired.
Looking up to the sky, Varian cried out for help, “Eugene! Eugene please! Where are you!”
As if he had spoken Eugene into existence, his caretaker loomed over him.
Varian held out his hands, begging Eugene to pick him up. Carry him away, back to the castle where he was safe and happy with Rapunzel and Cassandra!
Eugene gazed down, eyes cold as the moon in the sky. He shook his head.
“It’s your fault,” he said emotionlessly. Then he walked away.
The tears returned tenfold. His lip wobbled, and Varian couldn’t stop the wail that escaped him.
“EUGENE!”
The black rocks caught up to him, faster than before, closer and closer and closer--
Varian shot up out of bed with a heartbreaking cry.
He wheezed for breath, grabbing the first toy he could find: a stuffed raccoon. A tear fell onto the plush toy. Then another. And then a third. Soon, Varian was sobbing wildly, unable to control his tears.
It was his fault! It was always his fault!
....What was his fault again?
He hiccuped, and finally looked around. No longer was he trapped in the cold, huddling next to a building in an attempt to stay warm after another sleepless night. He was in the castle, safe, with Rapunzel upstairs and Eugene down the hall.
...Eugene!
Varian slipped off the bed, stuffed raccoon in hand, and quickly opened the door.
The hallway was barren, empty this late at night. Moonlight shone through the windows.
Moonlight reflecting off obsidian rocks as they came closer and closer--
Varian whimpered, rushing down the hall to Eugene’s room.
Eugene was always a light sleeper. It came with never having a stable home life. If the smallest of doors creaked, he needed to be ready for an attacker at any time.
But he had a feeling this was no attacker.
He opened one eye, and sure enough, Varian was quietly staring at him from the doorway.
“Hey bud,” he whispered, sitting up. “You can come in, just give me a second.” A small part of his mind complained about being woken up. That part quickly shut up when he lit a candle and saw the tear tracks on his ward’s face. He opened up his arms, and the dam broke. A blue and black blur shot into Eugene’s arms, and the man let out a small oof.
Varian shook in his embrace, the adult’s shirt quickly becoming wet as the child cried out his fears once more. “Hey, shh, it’s ok,” Eugene whispered, pulling Varian in close. “You’re ok, you’re safe.” He rocked them both back and forth, letting Varian cry it out while he comforted him.
“You wanna tell me what happened?” Tiny fingers dug into Eugene’s night shirt.
“I had a dream you left me…” Varian whimpered, and Eugene’s heart splintered.
He sighed. “Aw bud, I’m so sorry. It was just a dream, though. I’m not going anywhere anytime soon. And even if I was, I’d take you with me.”
“Really?”
“Sure, kid.”
That seemed to partially do the trick. The tears were rapidly drying, and Varian seemed spent, but he still clung to Eugene like a lifeline. The man weighed his options for a moment. On the one hand, Varian needed to go back to his room. Being able to sleep alone was an important step at his age. But he’d been doing ok before… So would it be ok to let him stay one night?
Eh, screw it. His kid, his rules. “You wanna stay here for tonight? Just tonight, though. Tomorrow you gotta sleep in your room.” Varian nodded into his chest. He just wanted proof that Eugene was here, that he wasn’t going to leave him.
“Alright.” Slowly, Eugene lowered them both onto the bed, Varian atop his chest. The adult pulled Varian close, tucking them in together. “I got you, Varian. You’re safe with me, I promise.” He pressed a kiss to inky black hair, and Varian hummed, content. His eyes slowly slid shut, lulled to sleep by Eugene’s steady heartbeat and the all encompassing warmth.
Eugene closed his eyes, smiling.
“Good night, kid.”

Soul Bound Chapter 3: Scrying of the Soul
Amity squinted at the blinding light of the chandelier above her head as she woke up. Her head was foggy and she couldn’t make out anything at all around her. She took a moment to rub her eyes before taking a moment again to bring everything into focus. She was in her room again, exactly the way she left it.
The green-haired witch took a second to mull through her head. She tried to pull out memories, but the fog was too dense to even walk through, let alone see any of what was in front of her. She took in another breath and relaxed her shoulders. She unclenched her jaw as her mind started to clear just enough to where she could see the memories; her mother, her head, the note. She knows about Luz. She didn’t know what her mother would do to her, but Amity knew it wasn’t good.
She opened her eyes again and immediately rushed over to her door. Locked. Amity cursed under her breath. She knew that the door itself only locked from the inside, so if she couldn’t use her key to get the door open, then the door had to be magically sealed. She drew a magic circle and a key appeared in her hand. She took the key to the lock and it didn’t budge.
Amity dispelled the key and looked out her window which hung over a 2 story drop. She practically almost vomited in her throat as she looked down the edge of the windowsill and into the courtyard that was now overcast with the shadow of night. Amity summoned her scroll and looked for the only name she could think to call at the moment.
Luz woke up groggily as the scroll buzzed in her pocket. She felt a sharp pain stinging in her side. She was sure that she broke something, or at least something was broken before. She shouldered through the pain as she went to pull out the laminated glyph. She was relieved that now she was able to contact her friends in a way other than raven or crystal ball now, considering that Amity helped her figure out how to summon a scroll via glyph. If someone wanted to talk to her, it would rumble in her pocket, waiting for her to answer. It worked just like a smart phone back on Earth and she wouldn’t be happier for it. It activated in her hand as she moved it up to her face. She noted the time; 10pm. She had been asleep for almost eight hours.
Luz grimaced through the sharp pang in her lung as she shifted her weight on the couch and rolled over on her other side. She looked at the message that popped up on her notifications first. It was from Amity.
Hey, Luz? Do you want to meet me at the library so we can help each other on the whole song writing thing? I think I want to give it a shot.
The human looked at the scroll with a mix of excitement and confusion. She shot a message back to her. The rapid thumping of the “keyboard” shot through her arm and into her side and she winced in pain. That didn’t exactly stop her.
I would love to, but isn’t the library closed at this time?
I can take care of that. I just need to be somewhere other than here at the moment if that’s okay?
I gotcha. I’ll meet you when I can. I’ve had quite a rough day myself.
Amity read the last message once she was done changing into her everyday outfit and hoped to the half-deceased body that made up the Boiling Isles that everything would be alright with her. She pocketed the scroll and opened the window as wide as she possibly could. She swung her foot over the windowsill and twirled her finger to summon an abomination on the side of the building. The cold night air embraced the witch as she lowered herself onto the purple muck before commanding it in a whisper to lower her to the ground.
“Hey, Mittens!”
Amity started at the sound of her siblings that she almost fell over.
“Sneaking out of your room, that is so unlike you. What’s the occasion? Can we come?”
Amity scoffed, “It’s none of your business. I just need to get away from Mom for a bit.”
“Exactly why we want to come,” Emira replied. “She’s kinda been in a tizzy ever since she came home today. Do you know what that’s about?”
Amity sighed in frustration. “Fine, you can come. I’ll explain to you guys on the way, can you guys just keep it quiet!”
“As a mouse.” Emira winked at her sister, pinching her fingers together.
“Though,” Edric interjected, “Do you know how we can probably get down?”
Emira scoffed at him before twirling her finger in the air, drawing a circle and summoning butterfly wings for the both of them. Edric wanted to complain, but as long as he got out of the house in one piece, he didn’t mind. Amity waved them on to get going as they jumped out of the window from their own room and they all maneuvered past the other open windows in an attempt to remain hidden.
They could practically hear the doors to Amity’s room swinging open as they went down and some unintelligible shouting. That didn’t matter to them now. They left it all behind them as they raced on towards the Bonesbourough Library.
~~~
Luz sat on the stoop in front of the library as she waited for Amity to arrive. Leaving the Owl House was much easier than she expected once she woke up from Amity’s messages. Eda had left a note on the kitchen table saying that she had gone out to get something at the Night Market, though something in her gut told her that it might be a lie. Whatever she was doing, she just hoped that her mentor would be safe. Luckily the pain in her side that was still burning when she got up had subsided and ended up feeling like a small bruise compared to what was there before. She still couldn’t help but wince whenever she moved that side of her body. If she knew any healing glyphs, then she definitely would have used them on her way here. She thought maybe if she were to work with Viney the next time they met in a lab next time, maybe she could inspect what healing project they would be working on and copy a healing glyph that might appear there. Though, that would be a lot harder than it looked and almost as impossible as the plant glyph. A challenge like that won’t stop her, though.
She looked out into the night and reminisced on the first night that she stood here. That night really showed Luz a different side of Amity. Before, she saw her as a bully who feels like she has to be on top of everything. Even then, she wanted to reach out to her to at least try and be her friend. But, with Edric and Emira in the picture, she saw that she had bullies of her own to deal with. Luz could only imagine what kind of antics could go on at home and she worried over her.
“Hey, Luz!”
She didn’t expect to hear the sound of the twins approaching her, let alone see them right in her face. She toppled over right as she saw them and just laid there for a moment before processing what even happened.
“Heyyyy, guyyys. I didn’t expect to see you here.” Luz sat up cross-legged and tucked her fist under her chin as she looked at the twins; her cheeks flush from embarrassment. She tried desperately to hide the pain that she still felt, but to no avail. Amity pushed through her siblings and offered the human a hand.
“Yeah, they weren’t supposed to be here.” Amity picked Luz off of the ground and noted the smell of fresh detergent overlaid with something sweet and flowery. She remembered that Luz noted before, a flower called Lavender back on Earth was one of her favorite scents. Her mind was getting off topic, she had to focus. “They asked to come because they also wanted to get away from Mom for a bit.”
“Yeah, I’ve never seen her that pissed off before, and after hearing what Mittens, here, did, I completely understand.” Emira shot a cocky grin at her little sister, “Never thought you’d have the guts.”
“Whoa, whoa wait. What happened?” Luz’s head was spinning. Everything was happening so quickly that she didn’t know what to think or how to process all this new information.
Amity sighed. “Look, let’s just get inside and I’ll explain everything.”
She gestured over to their siblings. Edric walked over and produced a piece of parchment similar to the one that they had when they were with Luz the last time. He held it up to the lock and they all watched as the parchment turned to embers and ashes before them. The lock contorted before doubling and tripling in size, inviting the teenagers into the library. He gave Amity a nudge before saying “Looks like you’re one of us now, Mittens.”
Amity’s brow furrowed as she watched her brother strut inside the enormous keyhole followed by her sister as her dark green braid trailed behind her. She felt a hand on her shoulder and turned to see Luz with a small, reassuring smile on her face. She couldn’t help but return the gesture as her shoulders relaxed and her heart lifted out of her chest. She took in a deep breath as she ran her fingers through her brown roots and took her hair tie off, leaving her hair to fall out of the half-ponytail that she almost always kept it in. It felt freeing for her, almost in a symbolic sort of way. She took the hand of the human who she noticed also had her face red in her cheeks as she looked entranced at the sight of the new Amity. She couldn’t help but giggle a little bit before cocking her head towards the door.
“Let’s go.”
~~~
Edalyn Clawthorne was never past ending someone’s life when it came to extreme measures, but the absolute raw energy of her rage was only let out this much once before, when Lilith kidnapped Luz, threatening her life just to get her to join the Emperor’s Coven. Really to get petrified, but Lilith didn’t know that at the time. She didn’t need to hear all of what Luz needed to say to understand exactly what was going on. Whoever this Almade was, he was a liar and a manipulator. She was used to those kinds of people, to scamming others out of their snails and other people attempting to scam her. But this was a different breed. He wanted something from her kid to the point of almost beating her to death. And he had the gall. No. He had the audacity to lie to her and try to pass off as a decent unassuming professor. She wanted answers, but that didn’t matter to her. What was first and foremost on her plate was to see this man’s head on a pike.
The Owl Lady wandered the streets of Bonesbourough, through the back alleys as to not arouse suspicion of the Emperor’s Coven guards that lined the majority of the populated streets ever since the failed petrification. They only really seemed to be focused on finding her, or her beast form, rather, than actually keeping the peace. It was almost like a twisted version of those nomads who once served as Animal Control, except when those guys were there to actually do their jobs and protect the lives of others when called. These guys are only focused, seemingly, on putting her down. They were bastards, the lot of them. All part of a system so hell bent on controlling others. Part of a system so hell bent on controlling her.
She scaled a nearby trellis on the side of the alleyway and used it to lift herself up to the rooftop overlooking the small city. She could almost see the skull of the Titan overlooking the library. She took in a deep breath. It had been so long since she had done anything like this. It was too risky to use Owlbert, her staff, to fly over the rooftops. So, she had to be careful as she hopped from rooftop to rooftop, only using her staff to fly over particularly large gaps whenever the guards weren’t looking in her general direction.
She went around the perimeter in search of the man like a tiger circling her prey. Each rooftop she landed on, she made sure to remain vigilant. She was sure she saw a shadowy figure looming over in the distance on top of the library. She blinked again to make sure she wasn’t just seeing things and it disappeared. She didn’t care if she was just seeing things or not. She was only focused on what was in front of her. She tapped her staff on the ground and Owlbert woke up cooing in her ear. The owl palisman remained groggy, but understood what needed to be done as his eyes glowed a bright yellow. Eda swung her leg over the staff and it launched her across the entire length of the city. The guards nearby took note of the loud sound that came from where she launched and rushed over to investigate.
The Owl Lady swooped in and perched herself on top of one of the library’s spires, jerking her head back and forth as she searched for her target. She made sure to keep her feet firm against the rough deep green shingles as she avoided the moonlight that reflected off of the round stained glass window.
“Funny, that I find you here.”
Eda whipped around and swung her staff at Almade, who flinched before he got the wind knocked out of him and was sent flying into one of the flatter parts of the roof with a loud crack. He groaned in pain as he struggled to lift himself up.
“Funny, indeed! I was just going to say the same thing about you.”
The man laughed as he got up, ignoring the pain rushing through him and the blood that poured out of his mouth.
“What are you even doing here anyway? Are you here to find your child and scold her for leaving the house when she’s been clearly injured? Are you going to punish her? Lock her up in some infernal dungeon in the depths of that wretched house of yours?”
“Ha! You are clearly projecting something. But no, I would never do that to my Luz. You were the one that almost killed her, so I did the most logical thing a mother should do. I’ve come here for your head.”
Almade’s hand dripped with blood as he slammed it firmly on the ground. A golden light radiated from him as the brick and concrete cracked and crumbled, forming a large, stony abomination.
“Then come and take it.”
~~~
Luz felt a rumble outside of the library. Did the Boiling Isles ever have thunderstorms? Earthquakes? She didn’t know, but whatever it was, her legs started to go numb. She wasn’t sure if it was because her injury had been spread throughout more than just her side or if what’s outside scared her that much. Her heart raced as she went over to Amity’s side.
“Do you know what’s happening out there?”
Amity shivered as she gripped on the human’s arm as tightly as she could.
“I have no idea.”
“So, what happened between you and your mom?”
Amity stopped for a second. She never even thought about telling her that the fact that she was in love with the human was the reason that her mother went ballistic. That and telling her off wasn’t exactly the best idea either. She felt a chill run up her spine as she gathered how to even tell Luz what happened. Would she even tell her that she even had a crush on her? No, she can’t tell her that just yet. As much as she wanted to, now is the absolute worst time to tell her. She’s already processing a lot already.
“The long and short of it is my mother got after me for something and I ended up snapping at her.”
“Wait what? You yelled at your own mother?!”
“Tch, yeah. I’m honestly surprised she didn’t kill me right away after that happened considering how Ed and Em described her rampage.”
“I could only imagine.”
“But I wouldn’t know. She kept me under a sleep spell afterwards and locked me in my room.” Amity clenched Luz’s arm a little bit tighter. Tears started to well up in her eyes. “I don’t even want to know what she had planned for me after that.”
To Amity’s surprise, she was enveloped in the warmest hug that she ever experienced. Her heart began to race as she processed for a moment what was happening.
“You’re safe now. That’s all you need to know.”
Tears streaked down Amity’s cheeks as she buried her face into the human’s shoulder. It took everything that she had not to impulsively kiss her. She wrapped her arms tight around Luz.
“Okay, ow ow ow, that’s my bad rib.”
“Oh,” Amity pulled away from her. Her face felt even hotter than before that she was sure that her tears would have evaporated. “Sorry, that’s my bad.”
“Hey, love birds!” Edric called out, “We’re gonna look around and find something to do! Good luck!”
“We’re not-!” Amity growled. “Just go!”
“Alright alright, we should leave them alone.” Emira chided her brother. “See ya around, cuties!”
Amity’s face couldn’t be redder than it was right now, but she didn’t know if it was due to the embarrassment or how angry she was at the twins. Good thing she didn’t tell them about her crush on Luz either or they would have picked on her a lot harder than they already did. Though, it did make her wonder if she was being that obvious.
“Whaaat was that about?”
“NOTHING!” Amity said that louder than she intended and cleared her throat. “It’s-it’s nothing.” She let out a sigh.
“So what happened after you got out?” Amity asked. “You said that your day wasn’t that great either.”
“Yeah, Almade kinda went crazy. He chased me around with a treelike abomination of all things. It nearly killed me.”
Amity’s eyes widened. “Come again?”
“You know, treelike! Like he took the dirt and roots of a tree and it made an abomination like GRRAWRRRR!”
“No-no I know what you mean by that, but are you sure that it was an abomination and not just plant magic?”
“Well, it had eyes and it followed commands and everything. I saw Almade using nonverbal commands to control it and he was somehow using glyphs against me. Ones that I haven’t even seen before. They seemed to be made of some cardstock or something stiff because I know all my glyphs were either ruined or smudged in my bag. Probably not the best idea, to be completely fair. I should have a better way to carry those next time.”
“Were his glyphs gilded?”
“Yeah, why do you ask?”
“We’ve got a book to read!”
~~~
Eda slammed an ice glyph on top of the abomination’s head. The creature groaned as its head was being engulfed by the crystallized water. It jerked around trying to throw the older witch off of her balance. She jumped off and slammed the brunt end of her staff into the monster’s head, shattering it to bits. The abomination fell over and crumpled into a pile of rubble and dust. She was surprised at how heavily enforced the building was if it could make an abomination of that size.
“So what’s your deal anyway? You infiltrate Hexside and pose as a teacher. You wait until my Luz is alone and you just up and attack her? Don’t ya think that’s rushing the game a little bit?”
“It doesn’t matter to me. What matters is that the job gets done, then I’ll be free from my own control. Luz is using you, Edalyn.”
“Yeah! To help learn magic, and even then she goes to school anyway. Kid wouldn’t even hurt a fly unless I or anybody else she loved was in danger.” She snorted.
“That’s not what I’m getting at. She’s using you as a proxy, trying to become a better witch so that she could have the human world invade The Boiling Isles. Why else would she run into such a lowly criminal and ask for help?”
Eda slammed her staff into his neck at such a speed that he was sure that she could have broken it with that blow if it weren’t for his manacle.
“Don’t you ever talk about my child like that!” The Owl Lady hissed, “It’s one thing to even try to kill her or – whatever you were going to do – but, it’s another thing to even try to gaslight me into thinking a stupid lie like that!”
She slapped a fire glyph on his stomach and jumped to the side as his tunic burst into flames. Almade writhed around in agony as he ripped and tossed his tunic off of him, revealing all the other burn marks and grafts adorning his body. He looked at Eda with a pure rage before falling over, his illusion passing through the roof of the library.
Eda cursed under her breath as she summoned her scroll to call the house. She let it ring for a moment before Lilith picked up.
“Oh my Titan, Edalyn! I was so worried for you!”
“Can it, sis! Have you checked to see if Luz was alright?”
“Uhhh, I was actually about to call you about that.”
“About what?”
“Luz left to see Amity at the library, apparently she was having a bad day as well and she wanted to comfort her.”
Eda sighed as she pinched the bridge of her nose. “Luz, what would I do without you and your big, dumb heart? Luckily, I’m at the library right now. I’ll call you and tell you if anything happens.”
“Just be careful. He could be anywhere.”
“Yeah, yeah, I know, he just tricked me with an illusion! Cheap bastard took advantage of my rage.”
“Well, I could have told you that.”
“Buzz off.”
Eda hung up the scroll and looked down to find a bunch of Emperor’s Coven guards surrounding the area. This wasn’t looking too good at all.
~~~
Amity remembered only being in the forbidden section of the library once or twice when she was locked in before, mainly due to her curiosity, but also because she really didn’t have much else to do. The Emperor’s Coven deemed these books banned from every other resident of the Isles to read aside from the ones that were the highest up the ladder in the Coven like Lilith or the infamous Kikimora. She was actually surprised that they kept all of their criminal files in here of everybody they sent into the Conformitorium, even the ones that were thrown in there for childish or mundane reasons. It really didn’t take a lot at all to get thrown in there on the Isles. She remembered Luz told her once that she and King got thrown in there just by ignoring the “Don’t Step on the Grass” sign and called the attention of a guard. It was actually pretty funny how easily you could set them off like that, considering how harmless the guards themselves are. Though, one book in particular always stood out to her, but she never did take note of the author before now. It was a recent edition after all. It arrived just shortly after King’s whole book publishing fiasco.
It was a book bound in purple leather and a black cloth stretched around the spine. The edges of the pages and the engravings in the leather were all lined with gold leaf and the headband was as intricately sewn as possible. The writing on the spine read “The Scrying of the Soul by Robert Almade”.
Just seeing the author’s name now made Amity’s stomach turn. Of course he would write and bind a book this beautiful and this horrifying all at the same time. Although it may be worth it to check out, it wasn’t what she was looking for. She searched through the various files as Luz went to pick it up. Amity pulled out a file that read “Almade” and flipped it open. She cringed at the various pictures that were laid out in front of her and brushed them aside, but kept the ones in view of various glyphs that he either carved out on the walls or drew in his own blood. A mug shot taken of him revealed that there were no grafts or burn marks of any kind. He looked pale and famished. The color and fullness had been taken away from his cheeks and the look on his face read remorse. Not anger. Not sadness. Remorse. Almost as if he was apologizing to someone for the actions he did, his eyes begging for him not to be punished. Amity remembered wearing the same look on multiple occasions whenever her mother would scold her for whatever arbitrary reason and sometimes even dragging her father into it. Most times, he would remain reluctant to join in, but he wouldn’t dare upset her. It was almost like she scared her more than he was allowed to care about his own daughter. Amity skimmed through some of the headlines and pointed out one that stood out to her.
“Here! LOCAL WILD WITCH DESTROYS HIS HOME, KILLED HIS FATHER AFTERWARDS.”
“Oh wow! That is dark! Gimme!” Luz said, making little grabby hands.
Amity stifled a laugh.
Quit being cute, you goofball. Someday, I swear it’ll kill me.
She continued reading. “Robert Almade, aged 24, as of last night had destroyed his own home. Witnesses say that Almade emerged from the wreckage with multiple cards adorning his body, all with gilded runes that nobody else has seen the likes of before.”
“That must be the glyphs!” Luz butted in. She thought about it for a moment. She always thought that she was the one to rediscover glyphs after many in the isles had rendered it a lost art due to how the evolution of bile sacs in a witch’s body made it useless. There must be a reason that Almade was using them because he could use magic like any normal witch by summoning abominations. Was this limited somehow?
“Luz, uhhh, there’s more to this.” Amity told her. “After he rose, he carved another one of these runes on his palm and grabbed the body of his father with it. There was a glowing light and then nothing left. Zeil collapsed on the ground, seemingly dead. The witness walked closer before seeing the body reanimate itself with a purple glaze overshadowing its eyes. They called this creature a Husk. It then stared directly at the witness before he darted off in the opposite direction. They ended up calling this person a ‘Soulomancer’. Almade was apprehended not long after and taken to the Conformitorium, scheduled for a burning.” Amity shuddered as she read that last sentence.
Luz looked at the date of the article. “Uhh, Amity, this article was dated 3 weeks ago. This is insanely recent.”
She flipped the page to find another article. “Oh, Dios Mio.”
ESCAPED! THE WILD WITCH DUBBED “THE SOULOMANCER” ESCAPED HIS BURNING!
Luz grabbed at her neck. She was so glad that she wasn’t turned into one of those Husks. She looked down at the book that she carried and noted all the love and detail put into the binding. She was going to find out how to get away from him. She could survive, but she didn’t know how. If she hadn’t been revived by Eda and Lilith, she would have been a goner. But why did it have to be her? Why her of all people? Did he have a grudge against humans or is it all just wanton bloodlust? He seemed to lash out at her more during her lessons with him, so the former is definitely still on the table. She tucked the book under her arm.
“I’m gonna go on ahead and check out this book that he wrote. If there’s anything that could help us out, it’d be in here.” Luz reached her hand out towards Amity. The witch replied with a smile and accepted it.
“Right, let’s head to the hideout.”
Amity’s secret hideout in the library wasn’t too much of a secret anymore, considering Luz as well as her siblings all knew about it. As long as they don’t spill it to anyone, like Ed and Em did to Luz when they met her, then it’ll be alright. She was actually surprised that the librarians themselves didn’t even know about it. Amity pulled on the book that acted as a lever and Luz immediately jumped on one of the bean bags that Amity had recently set up in the room when it came to the two of them actually hanging out in here. The human pulled the book out of her arm and started to read.
The witch smiled as she saw her crush at work, focused on the task at hand. She walked inside before closing the door behind her. She couldn’t help but feel a chill up her spine as she closed it, but paid it no mind.
“This is crazy, Ams!” Luz said as she pointed to a page on the book. “Look, right here says that these symbols are what make up the glyph system on the Isles! He must have really studied this kind of thing hard.”
Amity looked over the human’s shoulder. She was right. The page before her was laid out with a lot of specific shapes, most of them looking like the runes that they used on the Isles today for their native language, Arshoya. That language had almost been lost to their tongue today under Belos’ rule when he started to put the English language under the curriculum at their schools, but for whatever reason, maybe because it was easier, they had them keep the writing system.
“You know, it’s funny.” Luz pointed out. “Your guys’ runes on the Isles look scarily enough like alchemic symbols on Earth.”
“Wait, alca-what now?”
“Alchemy. It was this crazy study of magic or turning lead into gold or something developed back on Earth.”
“Wait a minute, I thought humans can’t perform magic.”
“Well, they can’t now, but I don’t think that’s ever stopped them from at least trying in the past. After all, these symbols exist. Look, this one-” She pointed at a circle with a dot in the middle of it. “-represents the Sun in Alchemy. At least, that’s the only symbol that I know. But it’s the same symbol that is used on my fire glyph.”
As she said that, she produced a card that wasn’t crumpled from her bag and drew her fire glyph just to demonstrate before quickly shoving it back into her pocket, hoping not to accidentally activate it.
“Wait, I don’t understand, that could just be coincidence. You can’t be too sure that our runes could be a shortcut or reference or whatever to design your glyphs.”
“It’s not designing. I’m learning from the island around me, at least and I’ll use whatever reference I’ve got.” She sighed as she stared at the book. The human looked back to Amity’s golden eyes. “And plus, it’s worth a shot.”
The witch could see the soft determination in Luz’s face, one that radiated of her characteristic hopeful outlook on life. Luz, her little light.
Someone knocked on the bookcase and Amity groaned as she got up. This was seriously the last time that Edric and Emira would pick on her in a moment like this. She went to slide the door open.
“You know guys, I am really getting tired of you guys picking on me, so why don’t you mind your own business!”
But it wasn’t her siblings. It wasn’t either of them at all.
~~~
Edric and Emira sprinted down the various book shelves as they raced over to the direction of the hideout. Neither of them heard Amity scream that loudly before and they knew that she wasn’t just excited. They leaped down the balcony, summoning illusions to soften their fall. Once they finally reached the hideout, shock spread through both of their faces.
Amity’s body lay on the ground before them, her eyes rolled to the back of her head. Luz scrambled backwards with her eyes wide and bloodshot and her mouth agape. Almade’s book was thrown across the room with its pages spread wide open.
“What did you do?” Edric asked softly with a fire behind his voice.
“I-I don’t – I didn’t-.”
“LUZ!” He grabbed the collar of her hoodie as he lifted her up off the ground. Tears trailed down his face. “WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY SISTER?”
It wasn’t long before Luz started bursting into tears as well. Looking over to where Amity’s body lied. She was splayed out on the floor with her eyes closed. The human looked over to her to try and find any sign of breathing. Anything at all.
But there was none. Amity was dead.
Tears streamed down Luz’s face and pooled up under her chin. Why did it have to be her? Why didn’t she save her?
Why?

Embers - Male dragon shifter x reader, Chapter Seven (sfw)
I'm sorry it's so late tonight. I was reminded (again) that it’s Friday and that means it’s Embers day! It's a bit of a rollercoaster this one, and again, it's still double my intended wordcount for these 'short' episodes, at 1.6k.
No real warnings, but  Mikaeïl 's past relationship is brought up...during date night... Happy Valentine’s??? And all I'll say is... I'm sorry???!
*flings this at you and then ducks and hides under a rock*
One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six
Tumblr media
A text from Mikaeïl drew a soft smile from you as you woke the next day, rolling over in the crinkly warmth of your covers and stretching your spine out with a grunt.
‘Morning beautiful,” his message began and you already found yourself grinning broadly. What a romantic… “I hope you don’t find this too much too soon, but I’d like to ask you out for a drink this weekend, tonight if you’re free. I know it’s short notice, but if you’re around, there’s a gorgeous wine bar in the old part of town. It’s run by this crazy old goblin, and I’d love to take you there.’
You actually squeaked and were very grateful that he had asked you via text and not phone call because you had enough butterflies to fly you straight back to high school again with the way you were feeling. With slightly shaking fingers, you messaged, ‘Just woke up. I’d love to come out tonight! And no, I have no life - don’t judge me.’
‘Wouldn’t dream of it’ came his immediate response. ‘Besides, most of my Saturday nights consist of a log fire and a glass or two of whisky, so… who’s got no life now…?’
You snorted and rolled onto your stomach. ‘Log fires? Even in summer?’
‘Reptilian, remember?’
‘Ah, yes. How could I forget those beautiful golden eyes of yours?’ you messaged and then immediately regretted it for how sappy and gross it sounded.
Luckily, he didn’t seem to mind. ‘I’m flattered. Would you like me to pick you up tonight? I’ll book us a table because it’s usually busy.’
‘You mean you don’t know the ‘crazy old goblin’ personally?’
‘Of course I do. He’ll give me the best table in the house, I know it. But still, formalities and all that…’
‘XD. I’ll meet you there? Where is it?’
A short pause was swiftly followed by a message with a link to the restaurant, called ‘La Cantina’ and which seemed to be very fancy.
‘I feel like I need a top hat and tails to go to this place,’ you texted after scrolling through its web page.
‘Nothing so formal,’ he reassured you. ‘Actually it’s very much a case of ‘wear what you like’.’ A second later he added, ‘Within reason, of course…’
‘Got it. I’ll wear my favourite neon leotard with exposed nipples for a touch of class…’
‘Perfect. I knew I liked you for a reason.’
You spent most of that morning giggling over your conversation with him, but you did manage to catch up on a couple of bits of work that had been shoved to one side during the week, and when you left the house that evening, you felt pretty sure you’d look alright. A pair of dark jeans and a smart-ish top which had always been one of your favourites seemed to do the trick, and it wouldn’t crumple on your bus journey into the centre of Old Trollbridge either. You couldn’t turn up looking like an old paper bag if you wanted to impress your, what, boyfriend? Were you officially dating now?
That thought sent a thrill through you, and you had just taken a deep breath to try and regain some of your limited stock of composure when you saw him up ahead.
He was walking down the cobbled street towards you, his hands in his pockets, his head slightly downcast, and your breath caught in your throat. The last of the sunlight had vanished to leave the milky blue haze of dusk, settling lazily about the buildings and chimneys of the old university town, and he looked as much a part of the place as the gargoyles and grotesques looming above and the worn streets below. Slender, strong, confident, and yet strangely soft, almost serpentine you supposed, Mikaeïl approached and the hard lines of his pale face gentled visibly as he looked up and saw you standing there, watching him.
His long red hair was half drawn back off his face on his left, twisted once and pinned, while the rest of it fell in shimmering red down his back. His eyes glowed in the dim light and your heart skipped a beat or two at the sight of them, slit pupils widened to leave a halo of gold. When Mikaeïl finally drew level with you, he slowed and you tried to take in a bit more of his outfit. As usual, he was wearing very little colour: a crisp and beautifully fitted white shirt, sleeves cuffed back to the elbow, tucked into black pressed trousers, and black Oxfords that gleamed.
Then his hands had taken yours in his strong, cold fingers and he pressed a kiss to your knuckles. “You look lovely,” he said earnestly in his warm baritone. “I’m so glad you were free.”
“No life, remember?” you grinned and he laughed softly.
“Let’s see about changing that, shall we? For both of us. Come on,” and he held your hand as the pair of you turned and headed back down the street in the direction he’d just come from.
“Did you just wander up here in the hopes of meeting me off the bus or something?” you asked, looking up at him.
He nodded slightly. “Mmm. That, and I was hideously early for our reservation.”
He caught the endearing smile you offered him and he chuckled again, his cheeks flushing attractively. His eyelashes, you noticed were stupendously long and thick, and the most delicate shade of rose gold you’d ever seen. While you walked, he asked you how the commissions you’d been working on had gone, and listened quietly and attentively as you waffled on about how irritating one particular client was being. “Not like you,” you grinned, squeezing his chilly fingers briefly. “I wish everyone had the same reaction to my work as you did…”
His breath hitched slightly as you said that, but he made no response other than to tighten his grip on your hand for a moment.
The restaurant was one of those that only the real locals know about; darkly lit by candles, with old barrels dotted here and there among the tables, and thrumming with a strange sense of timeless age. It was as if it had always been here, unchanging, immune to the rhythms of the world outside.
You had barely descended down the well-worn, stone staircase into the aptly named cellar restaurant when a goblin gave a clap of their long-fingered hands and scuttled over to you, grinning broadly and revealing a row of perfectly pointed teeth. Mikaeïl bent nearly double to hug him fondly, careful not to knock his horns on the goblin’s long ears, and they exchanged a chaste but familiar kiss on the cheek.
“Ahh, Mikki,” the goblin said in a voice like a creaking tree in a gale as they drew back. “It’s been far too long. And who’s this! A human!” He shook his head in mock disappointment, and then held out a knuckly hand to you, the grin firmly back on his darkly weathered face. “My pleasure, my pleasure. Come on in. Best seat in the house for you both tonight.”
“You do us great honour, Kiriavin,” he said seriously, ushering you ahead of him to follow the goblin to your table.
The goblin merely waved a hand and thrust a menu at you without looking back. You just about managed to grab it from him.
“Wine’s on me tonight, my friends,” Kiriavin added as you settled at your table and Mikaeïl’s eyes widened. “No, no, no; don’t you give me that look, you great overgrown lizard,” the goblin snapped, waggling his finger in Mikaeïl’s face and making him lurch back to avoid being tapped on the nose by a sharp goblin claw. “I haven’t seen you in months, and then you bring this gorgeous human in here out of the blue… Mikki, I was starting to wonder if I’d ever see you with someone else again. I’m glad,” he said, laying his dark-skinned hand on Mikaeïl’s bare forearm.
Mikaeïl’s throat worked as he swallowed thickly, and his eyes darkened for just a moment, but he nodded and said in a slightly choked voice, “Thank you.”
When the two of you were left alone, you cast Mikaeïl a questioning look.
He sighed expansively as you settled down at the table and then looked you straight in the eye. “You want to know, don’t you?” he asked.
“There are a lot of things I’d like to know - and a lot of them are about you…” you said cautiously, a horrible feeling souring your stomach. “What exactly is it that you think I want to know?”
As he trailed a finger across the scrubbed wooden surface of the table, his eyes lost on the patterns only he could see in the movement, he said, “Well, it’s been about thirty-five years since I was last with someone. We’d been together…” he broke off and swallowed again. “… for nearly a century.”
“Holy shit,” you breathed, suddenly feeling utterly irrelevant.
His nostrils flared as he drew in another, steadying breath, still staring at the table. “It’s not really the kind of conversation for a first date. It’s a sad story. We… We were together a long time, but he… he got very sick.” A second later he did look up at you and added, “He was an artist too. Different style from you, but… you have something of his talent.”
“Oh,” was all you could find to say as a barrage of self-doubt crashed into your mind.

Steve scratched the back of his head in confusion. Didn’t Sam tell him you would be here waiting for him? Looking around the deserted Avengers Lobby you were nowhere to be seen. It was the day before the 4th of July and most departments within the building had closed early for the day leaving a rather empty lobby this afternoon. A frown fell over his face, maybe Sam got it wrong and you were waiting in the garage?
Just as he start to head for the garage one of the exterior doors busted open to show a bike courier running in with a flushed face. He clearly had been rushing. Steve raised an eyebrow, placing his hands in his slack pockets as the courier stopped in front of him and bent over trying to catch his breath.
“For you Mr. Rogers- uh Captain Rogers,” the courier panted out holding a slim envelope up towards Steve remaining bent over. Steve eyed the envelope questionably before taking it from the young man’s hand.
“Do you need some water kid?” Steve offers watching him stand up straight face still red.
“Oh no, no” The young man barely a teenager by the looks of it waves his hands in front of himself.
“I’ve got too many more deliveries to make.” He took in a deep breath and looked at Steve with a growing admiration. “Can’t believe I get to deliver to you though! The Captain America!” Steve couldn’t help the smile that pulled at one side of his mouth at the courier’s excitement.
“Thank you for getting this to me so promptly kid,” The courier nodded his head vigorously.
“Oh of course! 30 Minutes Delivery isn’t just a company name it’s the motto!” Steve nodded his head seeing the same logo on envelope also on his shirt. “I gotta go! Have a great 4th!” The kid started walking off but came to a stop.
“Oh Geeze!” He turned back around to Steve. “Happy early Birthday Captain!” He waved enthusiastically and then turned to jog back to his bike.
Steve shook his head smirking, the kid reminded him of Peter with his level of zest. Looking back at the envelope he saw it was addressed from you to him. What on earth where you up to he wondered.
Ripping the envelope open glitter exploded out and Steve groaned. He should have known you’d do something like this. He shook his hands looking down to see his button up shirt covered in glitter, the creases of his pants littered here and there and the floor below covered with the craft product as well. He swore he could hear you giggling in his head. You were going to be in trouble for this, he swore it.
Looking in the envelope he saw a card and pulled it out, a simple ‘Happy Birthday’ greeting on the front, he opens it to see your hand writing instructing him to dress casual and meet you at Coney Island Luna Park by 6 for pre-birthday fun. He smiled at all the hearts you drew on the inside of the card and the cheesy way you put both of your initials with a plus sign in the biggest heart you drew.
Steve would be lying if he didn’t say he was relieved it was just an evening at Coney Island. Last year you and Tony had thrown him a huge birthday party he was not comfortable at the entire night until it dwindled down to the core Avenger group. Though tomorrow being his birthday you could always have more up your sleeve. He sighs shaking out his shirts and pants, feeling only slightly guilty at the glittery mess he was leaving on the lobby floor. You couldn’t text him or call him about meeting there no, you and Sam clearly plotted together on this one.
Looking at his watch he shook his head at the slight time crunch you had caused for him. He’d need to get to south Brooklyn from upper Manhattan not to mention he would need to change clothes entirely given the glitter and needing a more casual outfit at your request. Heading back upstairs he smiled wondering if he had enough time to fling some of the glitter left in the envelope on Sam.
-
You pulled your hair behind your ears as the wind picked up behind as you stand in front of the Luna Park entrance. You were sure Steve would like this much better than last year. Still disappointed in yourself for giving into Tony’s idea of throwing Steve a big birthday party.
Really, you knew better after being an Avenger for 4 years and with Steve nearly 2 of them, at this point you should have known it was a bad idea. Sometimes Tony was too damn convincing. When Steve had seen all the people there you could instantly tell he was uncomfortable but he played the part of happy birthday boy well and it broke your heart a little for him to have to fake anything on his birthday. This year you were determined to get it right!
This idea of a Coney Island date before his actual birthday came after he told you about how much he and Bucky would waste money at Coney Island. All the dames Bucky brought and or picked up while there leaving Steve the constant third wheel. Even with being a third wheel Steve never sounded upset about the time spent there. You had so much more planned for him but that was for you to reveal later.
An uncontrollable smile took over your face watching Steve stroll up the side walk in a pulled down cap, jeans and a tight black shirt. You licked your lips eyeing the outline of his chest underneath the shirt, he never knew how to wear a loose fitting shirt, not that you minded. Steve’s arms wrap around you once in his reach and pull you to him tightly, in kind your hand slip around his neck playing with his hair at the nap of his neck.
“Hey doll,” you smile into his chest at the nickname. “Hey birthday boy,” you muffle back into his chest. He kisses your forehead before pulling away to appreciate the light blue sun dress you wore with wedges giving you a few extra inches.
“You enjoy your card?” A sly smile pulls at your lips watching his brow furrow at your antics. “Everything but the glitter.” You giggled exactly how he imagined you would at the site of him covered in glitter.
“Captain America not a fan of a little bit of glitter?” He rolled his eyes at your sweet tone.
“That was more than a little bit of glitter and you know it. You’re going to pay for that.” His tone was gruff and your eye lids dropped half way looking at him.
“You promise?” You lick your lips at the possibilities. He stars down at you but was caught off guard when someone pushes past him, suddenly making him aware of your public location.
“Later,” He winks at your pout.
“Let’s start the Birthday fun!” You took his large hand in yours pulling him towards the entrance of the park. He remains at your side, intertwining his fingers with yours you look up at him continuing to walk.
“I’m not going on the cyclone.” You laughed at the grimace Steve gave. “I can’t believe it’s still here.”
“Are you jealous something almost as old as you still this sturdy?” You faced forward, leading the both of you towards the Coney games, knowing Steve for the most part was not a fan of rides.
“Are you saying I’m not sturdy?” He sounds almost hurt at the insinuation.
“Oh you and I both know you’re a sturdy ride.” You wink at him enjoying the faint blush blooming on his cheeks.
Steve handed you would be the tenth stuffed animal he had won for you. You had warned him to tone down his strength else he’d draw attention to him but he ignored your warning.
“I could never win these back in the day,” he confesses with a small frown as he hands you the giant stuffed bear in-between your already full hands. “I was too weak back then and I always wanted to be the guy with the gal who had all the prizes because her man could win them.”
“Oh Steve,” Your heart ached and warm all at once at his words. “I would love for you to get me all the prizes but I’m running out of room to hold them.”
Steve laughs titling his head back noticing your head almost covered by the prizes. Why did they all have to be giant stuff animals? As the two of you made your way to the next booths where he could win you something you started giving the current prizes to children passing by.
When Steve saw what you were doing he smiled until the corner of his eyes crinkled, overwhelmed at how generous you were being. It was one of his favorite things about you, never took more than you needed and sometimes even less than what you needed. The latter being something he would scold you for from time to time. You look up at him as the little girl you had just given the last prize to excitedly shows off the bear to her parents.
“Oh,” You seem suddenly unsure of your actions. “I’m sorry Steve I know you were winning those for me but it was just so much and I thought kids would probably enjoy–” He pulls you to him and kisses your lips gently, ceasing your rambling.
“It’s perfect,” he spoke pulling his lips from yours staring into your eyes. “Come on doll, I want to win you everything I can so you can give it away.” You sigh in relief following him to the next booth.
“Get me all of them Steve!” You cheered him on.
After winning you several more prizes that seemed to all be some type of stuffed toy you had given them all away except for one. Smiling down at the Captain America plush you couldn’t help but hug the toy to you as the two of you stood in line at a food truck.
“Hm, never thought I’d be jealous of myself,” Steve muttered dipping his head down towards the toy’s head pushed between your breasts. You pull the toy down but Steve caught your arm shaking his head.
“No no, I like it there.” He winked down at you before walking up to the truck window and began ordering for the both of you. Flabbergasted at his comment you stood behind him silently.
You couldn’t stop yourself as you dug into the truck food with vigor sitting on a picnic table across from Steve, smiling whenever your eyes would meet. Steve’s brow furrowed looking around the park noticing all the remaining attractions, a few booths, some machines, and attractions though definitely updated it all had a strange sense of nostalgia. The thoughts of Bucky and times long ago were prevalent, like a shadow around each corner as the sun began to set.
“Hey,” you recognized the bleak look falling over his face. “Come back to me.” You whispered, grasping his hand resting on the table across you. His head jerked to you, eyes clearing and a soft smile played at his lips.
“I’m here,” He smirked at the sauce dripping down your using his other hand he wipes the sauce away with his thumb and without missing a beat you turn to his thumb pulling it into your mouth. Sucking the mess from his thumb his eyes leveled with you, his lips curled up into a predatory smile as you graze your teeth along his retreating thumb.
“Naughty girl,” His voice a bit deeper than normal, with a sly smile you wink at him. “Maybe I didn’t want to waste of the delicious food?” He shifts in his seat and you could just imagine the hardening cock in his jeans. It was definitely time for your next part of the birthday celebration.
Without a further word you took both of your trash to dispose of it then grabbing you plush Captain America and the pulling the real one by the hand on to the next adventure. He called out your name inquiring where you were leading him but you didn’t respond the entire time. You finally stopped in front of an arch way displaying ‘Wonder Wheel’ in large letters with a giant Ferris wheel behind it.
“Another artifact like you,” your words held mirth as you stuck your tongue out the side of your mouth looking up at Steve. His eyes widen starring up at the Ferris wheel he rode growing up in Brooklyn.
“Wow,” He looked down when you pulled him further into the line. “Uh, I don’t know about this doll. It’s so old you know and it goes up real high.”
“I promise it’s just as sturdy as you,” Steve ran his tongue over his bottom teeth leaning back on his feet he looked down at you. “Not to mention who beautiful the night sky is going to be facing the ocean!”
“Doll,” his voice laced with growing anxiety.
“I’m pretty sure you’ve jumped out of planes without a parachute so what danger could there be in a Ferris wheel?”
“I have a shield to help with landing,” He looked less and less happy about the idea as the line shortened.
“You’ve got your shield!” You pulled on the shield sewed to the plush Captain America doll; Steve gave you a small smile and sighed in defeat. Happy at persuading him you lean up on your tip toes and wrap a hand around the back of his neck pulling him down towards you. Pushing your body flush against his you press your lips gently against the skin below his ear causing him to shudder and wrap an arm around your waist.
“I promise I will make it worth your while.” You whisper softly into his ear before nipping at his ear lobe and leaning back on your feet letting go of him. His arm loosens around you at the bite but tightens once more looking down at you in curiosity.
“Next.” You peel yourself from his grip and turn towards the Ferris wheel attendant who called for the two of you. Handing him tickets from your purse you had purchased before Steve had met you at the park.
Steve frowned adjusting his pants to make room for the arousal your behavior had caused. His brows lifted up watching you mutter something he couldn’t hear to the attendant and barely catching the sight of the $100 bill you slip into their hand.
Smiling brightly back at Steve you grip his hand pulling him to the large outer Ferris wheel carriage another attendant was opening for the both of you. Steve helped you into the box and following afterwards.
There were two bench one on each side of the Ferris Wheel, you sat on the one facing outward and patting for Steve to join you. He did but not without cringing the teetering of the box at weight change.
“What was that about back there?” He inquires pulling you to his side an arm draped over your shoulder. Shrug at him and let out a small ‘meep’ when the Ferris wheel started to move slowly. In reaction Steve pulls you closer to him your hand rested on his lap instead of being squeezed between the two of you.
Once you felt the two of you were at least half way up your hand began to wander towards his inner thigh, gently kneading him there, his eyes cut down to you but you smile at him innocently. He wasn’t fooled though. You began to lazily trail your hand up and down his thigh, purposely letting the tips of your fingers barely touch his growing erection.
“Doll,” his tone full of warning but you ignore him. Instead you pull your legs under you sitting on them the movement swaying the booth a little. You kiss him softy at first, trailing your hand up and down his thigh again.
Steve didn’t take kindly to you ignoring him; he threading his fingers in your hair and pulls your head back gently. “What do you think you’re doing?”
“Taking care of my birthday man?” You bite your bottom lip and Steve’s eyes narrow on your lips.
“No one can see, unless you want them to.” A deep red blush covers his cheeks as he mutters a “No.”
You curled your fingers around his clothed hard cock, he curses under his breath looking down at your hand then back at your face. He pushes your lips back to his he was rough though, nipping at your lower lip you gasp and his tongue invades your mouth. In response you unbutton and unzip his pants your hand slipping into the slit of his boxer briefs. He groaned against your mouth as you wrap your fingers around his warm cock tugging at it gently through the slit exposing him to the air.
You looked down at his cock and whimpered, it was so flushed and throbbing in your hand. You tighten your grip and Steve jerked your hair making you look at him.
“Taste it,” he encourages you, pushing your head down. You oblige leaning down your ass lifting in the air as you held his thigh with one hand, the other resting against his hard chest. You gently lick the tip and smile when his cock jerks at the touch.
Unable to resist any longer you wrap your lips around the head and began to swirl your tongue along the head. Steve threw his head back, a faint thud against the window, he lets out a groan.
“Just like that,” he mutters under his breath as you took him deeper.
His hand trails from your hair down your back and pulls your dress up revealing your lace underwear. Oh he was definitely going to rip those off later. He grips one of your exposed ass cheeks then gives it a heavy slap. The force of his slap causes you to take his cock further down your throat with a moan. Wiggling your butt he smirks at the show slapping the opposite cheek, in return you took the rest of him down your throat, feeling his soft blonde pubes.
“Shit,” he gasps out unable to stop the way his hips jerk up when you pull up stopping half way to go back down. Purposely swallowing around him, your tongue rolling around any part of him you could touch. Trailing your free hand up his thigh you cupped his balls still within his boxer briefs.
His breath falters. “Doll,” he whimpers when you pull your head up and went right back down in quick sessions. “Please,” he jerks his hips up shoving himself into your receding mouth. With his other hand he grips your head and holds you down. You moan around his cock, feeling liquid pool between your legs.
You loved it when he used your mouth, hell when he just used you.
He pulls you completely off his cock, pulling your head back to bend your back at an almost painful angle. His eyes were nearly all black when he pressed his mouth to yours, spittle glistening on your lips. His tongue trailed along your tongue groaning into you at the taste of himself. With his grip still in your hair he pulls your head back looking you in the eyes.
“Who’s mouth is this?” His voice gravel from his arousal. You whimper at his words shifting your hips together. He smacks your ass harder than before and you swore the sound echoes outside the Ferris wheel booth.
“Who’s” he pulls your head down, your mouth barely touching the bright red pulsing head of his cock, “is it?”
“Yours Captain,” he groans and shoving his cock all the way down your throat, gasping as you gagged on him at the sudden intrusion. He pulls your head up quickly and pushes back down just as quick.
“Yeah it’s mine” he mutters moving your head up and down on him gripping your ass with his other hand.
“It’s mine to use and abuse.” He grunted when your throat constricts around him causing him to hold you down at his base.
“You deserve to be used too,” He pulled you up just enough so you could catch your breath only to push you back down. “Getting me on this old Ferris wheel with such ill intent.”
Pulling your head back one more time he admired the drool trailing own your swollen lips, a groan pulled from his mouth when you licked your lips clean.
“Such a filthy thing,” He kissed you roughly before shoving you back down on his cock barely giving you a chance to breath as he started pushing himself up into your mouth. Tears started to pool at the corner of your eyes in response to the random gagging, but you wouldn’t let him stop, even if he could at this point.
“I’m gonna cum,” he groans out, his hips stilled as he started to move your head again on his cock. It was only a few moments later he held your mouth at his base; hips jerking you felt warm shots roll down your throat. Swallowing everything he had you slowly pull your head up when his grip releases.
He was still panting, coming down from the feelings you sent through his body. Smiling at him you wiped your mouth with the back of your hand. Reaching behind you pulled a handkerchief out of your purse; one he had given you so very 1930’s of him.
His whole body jerked when you began clean up his lap the sensation being too much, his eyes widen at your actions.
“Doll you shouldn’t be doing that–” He protests and went to still your arm but you swatted him away his post-orgasm euphoria letting him be bested.
“It’s your birthday,” You countered continuing with your task.
“Yeah but…” his voice trailed off as you finish and put the handkerchief in your purse and slip his softening cock back into his boxer briefs. Steve swatted your hands away to button and zip his pants up. You went to retort about you taking care of him but he stopped you before you could start.
“Hush we’re almost on the beach side,” At his words you turned around seeing the bright stars above the ocean. The city was way to light polluted to be able to see any stars but facing out towards the ocean you could actually see some.
Steve pulled you into his lap both of you staring at the night sky as the booth descended.
-
“Where are you taking me now?” Steve grumbles beside you, he was getting tired of walking around with so many people around and it was getting late. You pat his arm wrapped around you as you pull your cellphone out smiling brightly at the text you got.
“Who is that?” Steve felt a surge of envy of your attention being diverted from him.
“Remember me saying my friend that’s got a place in Brooklyn near where your mom’s was… Well she tends to be out of town around this time of year.”
“Yeah,” Steve trailed not sure he understood what this had to do with anything.
“Well she said we could crash at her place for the holiday weekend.” You smiled up at him.
“This way it can just be us, she’s got a nice 3 story walk-up across from Prospect Park.” Steve whistled at the location.
“Those aren’t cheap places doll,” You nudged him with your shoulder as he led the two of you out of the park. “Oh hush, it doesn’t matter. It’s ours for the night or weekend if we want!”
Steve nodded his head, staying in Brooklyn with his girl for his birthday sounded fantastic. No giant parties, no one knocking on their door interrupting their solitude. Just the two of them.
“She said the fridge has minimal essentials so if we want more food for the weekend we’ll need to get it.” Steve shrugged at your comment though slightly elated at the idea of doing something as domestic as grocery shopping with you.
“Well let’s head there. Figure we’d take my bike?” Steve question rhetorical, he knew you never drove. “Yeah just don’t go too fast.” Steve chuckled at your concern.
“I’d never let anything happen to you doll,” he kissed you before leading you to his bike.
The place wasn’t too far but far enough that Steve was able to admire sights of the Brooklyn he once knew merging with the 21st century. He pulled up to the walk-up and realized he could remember when they built these houses; he was barely 10 when they were finished. Shaking his head he trailed behind you as you entered a code into the deadlock keypad to the house.
Once the two of you shuffled inside he could make out familiar duffel bags on the couch in the living room. The both of you pulling your shoes off and setting them on a shoe rack next to the front door.
“Doll,” he dragged the l’s out inspecting the duffel bags closer.
You suddenly felt guilty for some reason, as if you had tricked him. “Yes Steve?” You tried to sound sweet as possible.
“What are our bags doing here?” You toed your foot into the hardwood floor pulling your arms behind your back.
“Tony may have helped a little in getting bags I had packed here so we could stay for however long we wanted.” Steve smiled at you pulling you into his embrace.
“And here I thought I’d just get to see you naked the whole time.” You pulled his ball cap off and threaded your fingers through his hair.
“I mean I could,” you gave him a licentious smile. He groans as if imagining you naked already.
“Yeah you should,” he leans down to kiss you but you slip out of his hands. His brow furrowed in confusion. You pointed to the bags which he quickly picked up and then crooked your finger at him. He followed you without a word as you made your way to the guest room.
Once he was in the room he sat the bags down and threw you on the bed only to pull his pants off before he pounced on you as you bounced on the mattress giggling.
“About that naked thing,” He wiggled his eye brows at you causing the giggles to continue. He silenced you gently kissing your lips then the corners of your mouth, trailing down your chin to your neck where he began to nibble on the skin.
You cooed, your hands wrapping around his waist pulling his shirt up so you could grip his muscular back. He grinned against your neck and sat up, wedging his hips between your spread legs. He quickly pulled his shirt up and over his head followed by your dress. He let out a pleased groan, his hands starting at your waist trailing up your stomach kneading your skin as he reached below your bra.
One hand slips underneath you unhooking the bra with finesse that took years to obtain, the other hand tossing the bra somewhere in the room.  You grip at the waist band of his underwear whimpering when you push your hips up against his hard cock, the friction setting your skin on fire. Steve groaned, his hands falling on the bed at your sides holding himself up as he bears down on you.
You lean up nipping at his ear lobe and kissing your way up his chin to his lips. Gently pressing against him and you were met with his never ending intensity. Tongues fighting for dominance as his hands take yours from his waist and hold them at your side pushing you back down into the mattress with one hand.
Pulling your hands above your head he holds them with one hand bruising strength and began to rub his cloth covered cock against your slick pussy. The juices soaking into his boxer briefs, he groans putting his chin to his chest looking down at your soaked panties. He licks his lips looking back at your face; a soft whimper passes your lips at that predatory look.
“You gonna let me fill you huh?” You felt your lower abdomen quiver at his words thick with his Brooklyn accent when he lost himself in his lust.
“Yeah you want it,” he muttered letting go of your waist slipping into your underwear to rub your clit with his thumb. You arched your back up crying out hands jerking against his hold but when he applied pressure you stilled.
“Please,” You half gasped out at his attention, his pressure light and slow almost torturous.
“Please what?” He smirked down at you.
“I want to cum, please.”
“You’re gonna have to do better than that.” He began to increase the pressure of his thumb
“Please Captain make me cum,” you began to rotate your hips. “I want to cum, I want your cum.” Steve groaned and increased his pressure on your clit, letting go of your wrists to rip your underwear off with minimal effort and shoves two fingers into your slick heat pressing his palm against your clit.
You nearly screamed out, the sensation too much as he began a brutal pace. Your head began to toss back and forth on the bed his attentions sending rippling pleasure up and down your body.
“You want to cum?” He taunted, leaning over you. You nodded your head not able to say yes as you moaned louder, a tightening feeling spreading in your lower abdomen.
“Not yet,” he pulls his hands away from you and you sob out loud, your legs flailing in anger at his denial. Without another word he grips your throat and you still, your legs resting over his thighs.
“Such a good little slut,” he praised and you couldn’t help the feeling of pride that washed over you at his words.
“You’re gonna be good for me right?” You muttered a yes.
“Gonna take my cock, gonna let me fill you up? Be such a good doll for me right?” You felt your head fog with lust at his words.
“Yes Captain,” You whimper out pushing your pelvis down on his.
“I love it when you call me that.” He growled out.
Steve spurred into action; pulling down his boxer briefs until completely off. Pushing your thighs wide apart he gripped the base of his cock, trailing the head up and down your slit enjoying the way his precum and your juices made the head glisten. He shifted up to standing on his knees pulling your waist with him your lower half up in the air. The height different bending you at the neck.
“Tell me if it’s too much okay?” You nodded meekly as you whimper feeling the head of his cock press into you.
When he thrusts himself into you regardless of your arousal and preparation there was that delicious burn of stretching. You both cry out, your hands gripping at the air as he holds your hips still with both hands. “What’s wrong baby girl?” he taunted.
“So full,” you gasped out, trying to rotate your hips but his grip was too firm. He tutted your attempts as he slowly pulled himself out then slammed back in causing you to cry out again as your body went limp with pleasure. He chuckled at your cries and set a punishing pace.
“Who do you belong to?” He grunts out between closed teeth, his brow furrow.
“You,” Voice hoarse from the over use and bent neck.
“Who?” A hand lets go of your waist and two fingers begin to run circles around and gently pinch your clit. You feel the deliria of pleasure start to settle in, almost missing his question.
“I belong to you Steve,” he stilled “Captain” You all but gasp out, he leans over your prone body peppering kisses on any skin he can reach, continuing his assault on your over worked slick pussy.
He groans pulling you from him only to flip you onto your stomach as if you were light as air. He sat back on his heels pulling your waist over his lap. Your legs wrapped behind him on reflex, hands stretched out on the bed in front of you, his cock slowly pushing back into you.
“You drive me crazy,” he mutters out, a hand on your lower back guiding your ass back and forth on him. You faintly hear him growling his eyes entranced at the sight of his cock slipping in and out of your sopping wet pussy.
Your eyes shut tightly the sensation of his slow intrusion sending shocks up and down your body settling into the tightening of your lower abdomen. Steve hand snakes down below you, rubbing your clit quickly to offset his leisure pace. You arch your back down with a sob, the sensation too much you shutter around him losing yourself to the release of pleasure.
He grunts feeling you spasm around him setting his pace back up in tempo, pounding into you with strength that would certainly leave bruises. “Cum in me,” You coo, your body jerking against the bed at his thrusting. He nearly howls at the words his body seizing up, his pelvis flush to your ass cheeks filling you at your request.
It took a while before either of you caught your breaths enough to move. He pulls his semi hard cock out of you. You couldn’t control the way your hips push back, primal need to always feel him. He would have normally chuckled at your actions but he’s mesmerized by his cum leaking out of your bright red pussy.
“Oh no no,” his finger push the dripping cum back in, you releasing soft whimper from your lips at the feel of his fingers pushing on the overworked flesh.
He twisted his hand pushing his palm against your clit, his fingers still inside of you keeping his cum inside as he began to rub his palm against your clit causing your back to arch back down again a deep moan pulling from your lips. He placed his other hand on the back of your neck sending you down the path to orgasmic bliss once again.
-
Steve felt consciousness slowly start to filter in as the morning sun began to shine in the room; he reached over for you but frowned when he found nothing but crumpled sheets. Opening his eyes he slowly sat up, his senses returning after a late night of his favorite activity. Smelling bacon he licked his lips standing up with a stretch.
He spotted across the room that you had set out his favorite sweat pants on a reading chair. Deciding it was time to find you he worked towards getting pants on so he could hunt you and the bacon down.
You danced naked underneath the apron to a song stuck in your head. Your hair up in a messy bun as it was unsalvageable to be down anymore after last night. You felt your thighs clench at the thought of everything the two of you did. Returning you focus to cooking you flipped over the bacon wondering when the birthday boy would wake up.
Strong muscular arms looped around the front of your waist, the other cupped a breast gently pulling you back into warm uncovered chest.
“What are you wearing or rather aren’t wearing,” he rough scratch in his voice made you push your thighs together once more.
“You asked for naked the whole time.” You remind him, pushing the bacon with your spatula. He hummed in appreciation, rutting his morning erection against your back side.
“So I did,”The hand on you breast snaking in the valley between your breast to gently wrap around your throat pulling you head to the side he began to kiss along your  neck.
He pulls his sweat pants down enough to pull his cock out. He dips his hips low to be able to rub his cock between your ass cheeks chuckling as you wiggle against him.
“Steve…” A soft gasp escapes your lips while you throw a hand behind you reaching up to grip the nape of his neck. “The bacon.”
“You can still finish the bacon don’t worry.” His hands wrap around your waist lifting you up just enough to nudge the head of his cock between your wet lips. When your body betrayed you jerking at the slight pain on over used flesh, he pulls away but your feet hook around his calf anchoring yourself.
“No I want it,”
“Doll” His voice full of concern.
“I like it when it hurts,” Your confession earning a groan from Steve against the back of your neck, “You’re gonna be the death of me.” Sliding you down until you were at the root he gently bit your neck moving one arm to warp around your lower abdomen keeping you tight against him.
You are panting head thrown back as you try to focus on anything but the searing feeling of him so deeply inside you once again.
“Don’t forget about the bacon.” Steve murmurs against your neck before he starts to draw patterns on your skin with his tongue, you shake your head looking down at the close to burning bacon.
Quickly you take it out of the pan, leaning just slightly over to pull new bacon into the pan, a whimper pushing past your lips at the shift of him inside you at the movement. Steve flexes his hips panting against your neck. Your head feels fuzzy trying to focus almost impossible with him sitting so deep in you. The telling tightening and need for release growing with each second he stayed within you.
“Finish our breakfast doll,” His voice barely above a whisper giving away that this was driving him just as crazy.
Once the bacon was finished you turn the burner off and barely have a chance to put the last of the bacon on the plate before Steve turns the both you around pushing your chest down on the marble kitchen island. He swirls his pelvis groaning out between ragged breaths.
“It’s almost unbearable to be surrounded by your tight pussy and not do anything,” He smacks your ass causing you to clench around him with a soft cry. That is what sets him off. He rears his hips back nearly completely out of you and slams right back into you with so much force you’d certainly have a bruise later along your thighs from the island marble.
He began pounding away into you with abandon, groaning out your name intermittently like a mantra. The sensations were too much for your overworked body, crying out his name you spasm around him. Steve’s steady pace became jerky his fingers pressing tightly into your flesh as he filled you once more, his forehead dropping  to  your shoulder gently biting at your sweaty flesh riding out his orgasm.
Laying the side of your face on the cool marble you try to cool yourself down as hot puffs of air escaping your lips with Steve panting into your skin.
“Happy Birthday Steve.” You can feel his lips upturn against you neck. “Best one yet and the days not even over.” Barely a mumble against your skin.

As Above, So Below - Kim Seungmin Paranormal Investigator AU Part 1
(Next Part ->)
I’m finally posting it ya’ll! :D
The reader's abilities are based off of those of Lorraine Warren's. She and her husband, Ed, were paranormal investigators. If you need an insight on her abilities, watch 'the conjuring'. It's great movie, hands down one of my faves.
Tumblr media
“These pictures were taken during the exorcism last year." Seungmin's voice rang throughout the large classroom.
Kim Seungmin, the well renown paranormal investigator, stood before you in a classroom in your town. You watched his videos all the time, followed his social media. He was a big inspiration for you, someone you knew would understand you.
You have a gift, you see. One not many people would understand. You had gotten into a car accident when you were younger, leaving you not only with PTSD, but with an unnatural gift. You could see and hear things no one else could, you could be brought into almost another dimension, the other side showing you things from the past. You were known as a clairvoyant.
You watched Seungmin’s presentation in awe, excitement filling you every time he showed something new, something you didn’t see on his blog. Your eyes kept meeting his, but every time they met, the girls behind you would squeal, especially the one in the middle.
The girl in the middle used to be your best friend, until a few years ago. Kim Eunmi , now one of the most popular girls in your college/university. She always walked around with two other girls, Lim Hyuna and Song Inhye. They were your “bullies” if you’d call it that. They wouldn’t say much to you, usually a sly remark here and there, but they would always openly giggle behind your back or whisper almost loud enough for you to hear; and it all came from an incident a few years back, the incident where Eunmi abandoned you as a friend then spread rumors about you, making your high school career a living Hell. You were labeled a “freak” and spent your high school years by yourself.
“Here is another slide from the case of Go Jinjoo, the man who was possessed and kill thirteen women in a span of three months.” Seungmin’s voice broke you out of your thoughts, your eyes landing on the pictures of the man on the screen.
He had blood covering his shirt, his teeth grit and blood splattered across his face. His iris’ were completely black, his veins popping out of his face and neck. He looked possessed, to say the least. Your eyes searched the picture, your eyes sensing the dark aura around him. Your eyes scanned every detail you can, and you felt someone’s eyes on you.
You peeled your eyes from the screen and made direct eye contact with Seungmin, his eyes staying on you longer than you could never believe. You heard a squeal behind you, and your heart dropped, thinking he could’ve just been admiring Eunmi. Eunmi was very attractive, with her silky dark hair, large eyes, and beautiful face. She was much more to look at, or that’s what you thought at least. You remembered all the boys would gawk and stare at her when you two would hangout, and it got worse in high school. You tried not to pay attention to it, but it was hard when every time you went to your locker, which was straight across from hers, a guy was either trying to confess or give her something. You were shocked and disappointed when Seungmin ended the presentation, cursing yourself for not paying enough attention. Oh well, there’s always a next time. Seungmin looked at you, and your heart fluttered, then quickly dropped as you felt someone bump your shoulder, and realized Eunmi was walking down the stairs. Her eyes were mocking towards you, and you knew she was going to purposely try to flirt with Seungmin right in front of you. Eunmi knew she was naturally pretty, and she flaunted it a lot. You never understood why she wore the amount of makeup that she did, she was effortlessly and naturally stunning. She bat her false eyelashes at Seungmin, pressing her arms closer to her chest to make her boobs pop out more. You rolled your eyes and packed your notebook in your bag, having had taken notes while listening.
“Hi Seungmin-ahhh!” Eunmi greeted him in a sweet voice.
“Oh, hello.” He greeted with a pretty smile.
“I’m Eunmi, and I’m a huge fan. That presentation was something else!” She giggled.
“Ah, thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it.” He said with a polite bow.
“Now Seungmin-ahhh.” She giggled, leaning close to him.
You wanted to snap your pencil in half. Eunmi knee how much you had loved his documentaries, you had started watching his videos when you were in middle school together, and she always told you it was lame. Seungmin has the gift since he was younger, and you had admired him ever since your accident.
“Saw you looking at me this whole lecture.” She purred, fixing the buttons on his white button up. “Is there something you wanted to say?”
You quickly made your way out of the room, and Eunmi watched you walk out with a smirk, but another set of eyes were on you as well.
“Actually… Uh… That girl that was sitting in front of you, what’s her name?” He asked.
“Who? Y/N?” She scoffed. “Just some weirdo. She thinks she can see and sense ghosts. She just does it for attention.”
“I see. Well, it was nice meeting the three of you.” Seungmin said with a smile before grabbing his bag and walking away.
“Wait, Seungmin!” Eunmi called, grabbing his shirt sleeve.
“Weren’t you looking at me?” She asked, her eyes big.
“You’re very pretty, but it wasn’t you I was looking at. And I don’t look at petty women.” He said casually, pulling his sleeve out of her grasp. “Have a nice day, ladies.”
Tumblr media
You walked into the courtyard, the pink trees of the garden glowing in the soft spring sunlight. You sat on the stone bench and opened your notebook, going through the notes you took and sighing.
“I should’ve paid better attention.” You groaned, dropping your head into your notebook. “Stupid stupid stupid.”
“I think you’re pretty smart, actually.”
Your head shot up at the voice, your nose almost brushing Seungmin’s. Shock was in your eyes as he smiled down at you.
“Mind if I sit?” He asked, pointing to the empty spot on the stone bench.
“Oh, sure!” You said in a voice a little too high pitches for your liking, making you almost cringe.
He sat down beside you, his eyes going to your notebook.
“You took notes on the session?” He asked, his eyes full of admiration.
“U-Um yeah… I love what you do.” You said shyly.
“I see… You seemed very interested in the whole thing. Almost like you knew how it felt to have these abilities.” He said, looking directly at you.
Although he had such a sweet looking face, his eyes held a ferocity that you have never seen before. It was breathtaking to look into massive orbs you’ve only ever saw on a screen.
“I… I guess you can say I have a gift.” You said lowly, your eyes not leaving his.
“What kind of gift is that?” He asked, his eyes still searching yours.
You slid him the notebook that you had written your notes down in. He looked at the notebook and slowly went to the first page, reading what you wrote and drew sketches of, all of your experiences on the finely outlined pages. His long finger tips followed where he was reading, his eyes quickly scanning the pages as he continued to flip through it. He stopped at one, an amused smile on his face.
“So you know, huh?” He asked.
“What?” You asked.
“Most of the episodes of Ghost Hunters is staged and acted out.” He said with a light chuckle.
“Even if I didn’t have this ability, it’s painfully obvious.” You pointed out, scrunching your nose in distaste.
“How else do you know? And how can you tell when it isn’t staged?” Seungmin asked.
“Well, for starters, their reactions. When it’s fake, you can tell when they over dramatize it, like it’s too much. I also don’t see anything when it’s fake.” You said.
“See anything?” He asked.
“I can see shadows… Morphs… Whole spirits.” You said hesitantly.
His eyes searched yours, seeing the sincerity in them.
“You can just see shapes and figures?” He asked.
“No…” You said lowly. “I can see them… Usually when they just want to be seen.”
“What if they don’t want to be seen?” He asked.
“I can see their shapes and figures, and I can feel them.” You responded.
Silence fell over the two of you, Seungmin’s eyes going back down to your notebook and flicking through the pages, stopping at a certain one.
“What’s this?” He asked.
It was from the last night you and Eunmi had spent the night together as friends. The night she got scared away, the night she held a grudge against you for. You slid it out of his hands and closed it, a sigh leaving your lips.
“An experience I wish I could forget.” You sighed.
He went on to say something, when you gave him a sad smile.
“They show me things.” You said.
“They show you things?” He asked.
You nodded and played with your fingers.
“They show me what happened to them… Or what could happen to other people.” You whispered.
His eyes were soft as he laid a gentle hand on your shoulder, giving it a soft rub.
“You’re a clairvoyant Y/N.” He said.
You nodded and sighed when he lightly grabbed your chin and turned your head towards him.
“There’s nothing wrong with that, nothing at all. I know what it’s like to have a gift no one understands, I know it’s lonely, but I’m here for you now, okay?” He said with a bright smile.
“You’re only in town for a couple of days.” You giggled with a small blush.
He fell silent for a moment, biting his lip and thinking.
“Why don’t you come for an investigation? We’re also here to investigate a house about an hour away from here.” He suggested with a smile.
“Will that really be okay?” You asked.
“Of course!” He laughed. “It’s just me and three other people.”
“O-Okay.” You nodded with a shy smile.
“Perfect! We have to leave in an hour, do you need to get changed or anything?” He asked.
“No, I think I’m okay.” You laughed. “Why? Is my outfit bad?”
“Not at all, just don’t want you to catch a cold.” He laughed.
You put your notebook back in your bag as he stood up and stretched his hand out to you, a smile on his face. You smiled back and lightly took his hand as he helped you up, and you felt something in that little touch. It was like a spark, a small fire emitting itself in through your hand and all throughout your body, warming your heart as you walked step for step beside him. His light brown hair caught the sun in a beautiful way, his hair shining brightly. He glanced at you, giving you the whitest smile you’ve ever seen, and you swore it could blind anyone with how white his teeth were.
He lead you to a small, hippie fashioned Volkswagen (if ya’ll know, ya’ll know.) Two men and a woman were standing outside of it, and the one turned and gave you a friendly smile.
“Hi there.” He greeted you.
“Hi.” You greeted him and the others with a polite bow.
“Seungmin, who is this?” The woman asked.
“This is Y/N, she’ll be joining us today.” He said, introducing you.
“I’m Hyunjin.” The one who smiled at you said.
“I’m Felix.” The other said with a big smile. “And that little ball of sunshine over there is Haru.”
You looked over at the woman, who scowled at you and Felix.
“Why is she coming?” Haru asked.
Wow, rude.
“She has talents that we need.” Seungmin said, putting his stuff in the back.
Haru scoffed and eyed you up.
“And what talent is that? Taking up space?” She asked.
“Haru, stop being so rude.” Hyunjin gasped. “Seungmin doesn’t invite just anybody.”
Haru went to open her mouth, when Seungmin shot her and look, making her purse her lips.
“She’s a clairvoyant. I’m curious about her, and she’s welcome to come with us. Don’t make this hard on her, she doesn’t deserve that.” Seungmin said, his voice serious.
Haru rolled her eyes and turned away, stalking towards the back of the SUV. Felix gave you a friendly smile and took you to the front seat.
“You’ll ride up front with Seungmin so you won’t have to deal with our little ball of sunshine in the back.” He said with a smile.
You nodded and slid into the front seat, catching the glare from Haru. Eunmi was already a lot to deal with, but now this girl? You only have known her five minutes! Seungmin sat next to you, flashing you a smile as he pulled out his GPS.
“So, what exactly is going on at this home?” You asked.
Haru scoffed in the back seat, and Felix elbowed her.
“A couple has been hearing strange noises around their home, and we’re just going over to see what exactly is happening.” Seungmin said.
“Most likely nothing too exciting.” Hyunjin said, getting the camera he had in his hands ready.
“Do you record before you even find out if it’s haunted or not?” You asked.
“Of course, I wanted to start a vlog where we post the most stupidest encounters and how goofy the residents look when they realize their house isn’t haunted.” Hyunjin giggled.
“Why didn’t you?” You asked with a laugh.
He pouted and looked at Seungmin. “Seungmin said it’s unprofessional.”
“And it is.” Seungmin said as he pulled out of the parking lot.
“I don’t know, I’d love to watch them.” You laughed. “It might attract more viewers.”
“We’re not doing this for viewers.” Haru snapped.
“Lose the attitude Haru.” Hyunjin said, looking at her. “The more viewers we get, the more recommendations we’ll receive.
“People like horror and humor, if you give them both, they’ll be all over you guys.” You said.
“Or attract people who just want the attention.” Haru said.
You fell silent, not wanting to say anything else. Seungmin flicked a look at Haru through the rearview mirror and she huffed, shoving her headphones in.
“I’m sorry about her, she doesn’t take to people easily.” Seungmin sighed.
“It’s okay, it’s no big deal.” You said with a small reassuring smile.
Tumblr media
When you pulled up to the house, you noticed the roof looked a little caved in, probably from the recent storm. You followed Seungmin out of the SUV and up to the house as the other three grabbed their cameras and setup. The couple who owned the property came out, and you noticed the two of them were fairly young.
“Mr. Im, Mrs. Im.” Seungmin greeted both of them with a bow, and you followed suit.
“We’re so glad you’re here, we haven't been able to sleep for days.” Mrs. Im sighed.
“What seems to be keeping you up?” Seungmin asked.
“There’s this terrible creaking sound that usually happens at night, and it sounds like there’s footsteps coming from the attic.” Mr. Im said, his eyes wide.
“We’ll take a look.” Seungmin reassured them.
He beckoned you to follow him, Hyunjin coming in directly behind you both with the camera on the both of you. Seungmin stopped at the top step, turning towards the camera and smiling. He bumped you with his elbow, and you turned and smiled as the camera started rolling.
“This is Seungmin back with another video, and today we’re investing a couples house. Mr. Im says there’s been strange creaking and what sounds like footsteps coming from the attic. Today we have with us a new friend of mine, Y/N.” He said, giving you a smile.
You bowed to the camera and smiled brightly as you followed Seungmin up the stairs. Your eyes scanned the hallway and rooms you passed by, hoping to catch something on this case.
“I’ll show you guys the attic.” Mr. Im said.
“Stay here for a moment.” Seungmin whispered to you as he walked up behind Mr. Im, Haru walking by you and giving you a petty smirk as she did.
You rolled your eyes and turned to see Mrs. Im, a small smile on her face.
“Are you new?” She asked.
“Um- sorta? I mean, I was at one of his sessions and he invited me to come here.” You said with a smile.
You turned your head and saw a picture on the wall, Mr. Im holidng Mrs. Im up in the air, the both of them smiling brightly.
A scene of the two of them running through the autumn leaves filled your vision. Mr. Im tackled Mrs. Im in a hug and they toppled over into a big pile of leaves. They both laughed like crazy as Mr. Im covered Mrs. Im in kisses, her bright white smile glistening in the sunlight. Another flash and he was on one knee, a beautiful ring in a carefully crafted box in his hand.
“What a beautiful fall day to propose.” You said as you held the picture in your hands.
“What? How could you tell?” Mrs. Im asked in shock.
“It’s called an insight, you get to see little pieces of someones life.” You said with a smile.
You heard something and turned to see Seungmin standing there, a smile on his face.
“Was she right?” He asked.
“She was.” Mrs. Im breathed, her eyes full of curiosity.
His smile grew wider as he walked over to you.
“Why don’t you come upstairs and help us get this figured out.” He said.
You nodded and followed him up the stairs and into the attic, scanning the room. You couldn't’ feel or detect anything, it felt normal.
“And we just keep hearing THUD THUD THUD THUD!” Mr. Im explained to Felix and Haru.
“Seems like you’ve got an annoying one on your hands.” Haru said, then turning to you and arching brow. “And what do you think, little miss clairvoyant?”
“Not sure yet.” You said flatly, looking around.
The place wasn’t haunted, obviously. But you needed to show them that it was something else. You pressed your foot on a board that looked worn out.
THUD.
Bingo.
“I found your ghost.” You said.
“Who is it? Is it an old man? A woman? GASP! Is it a little girl?!” Mrs. Im squealed.
“No, no, and no.” You replied, pushing on the board as it thud.
“Was that the sound you were hearing?” You asked.
“Oh my god, it was! But doesn’t that mean something had to be stepping on it?” Mr. Im asked.
“By the looks of it, you keep that old rocking chair on it.” You said, tilting your head to the rocking chair in the corner.
“The wind or draft push the rocking chair, which creaks.” You said, moving the chair over top of the board.
You rocked it, and it thumped and creaked. Sighs of relief left the couple, then embarrassment washed over both of them.
“We are so sorry for wasting your time!” Mr. Im gasped.
“It’s okay!” Seungmin laughed. “Usually these places aren’t haunted, there’s always a logical explanation, and it looks like Y/N found it.”
“I’ll get that old board fixed right away.” He reassured everyone and his wife.
The couple walked you both out, and Mrs. Im held your hand.
“Thank you so much, you really impressed me with that insight. I hope they keep you.” She said.
“No, thank you for that experience! I’ve always loved Seungmin’s adventures, and being on one was a dream come true.” You said with a smile.
“I hope you get to stay. You really are talented.” She said, waving goodbye to you.
Seungmin drove to a small diner as you all sat down to eat.
“I’ll cover yours.” Seungmin said.
“No its fine-”
“Listen, that investigation went so quick because of you. And that insight? You’re very talent Y/N.” He said.
As you ate, you kept feeling Haru’s glare, and it was starting to make you uncomfortable.
“Haru, look at your food.” Felix said, glancing at her.
She slammed her fork into her food and continued eating, chewing angrily.
“I need to use the restroom.” She said, abruptly getting up and walking away.
“She’s just made because she believed it was haunted, and you knew it wasn’t and proved her wrong.” Hyunjin reassured you.
You nodded awkwardly and Seungmin rubbed your shoulder.
“You were amazing back there Y/N.” He said.
“Thank you, it was nothing really.” You bowed with a blush.
Tumblr media
When Haru got back, you all ate quietly then left. Before you made it to the SUV, Seungmin turned to you, Felix and Hyunjin smiling brightly. Haru narrowed her eyes, anger on her face.
“No.” She growled.
“This isn’t your decision.” Seungmin said.
She stormed off to the SUV, slamming the door. You looked at them in confusion, and Seungmin gently held your hand.
“Y/N, I have a huge question.” He said.
Your heart hammered through your chest as he smiled at you.
“Will you be apart of our crew?”
