for SuMo, which is also the canon i follow the most... I'm generally pretty okay with how they dealt with him. Like I always write him thinking mostly about that version, of course adding a little more of "adult content" (as in, him bleeding and dying and being Fucking Depressed in ultraspace mostly), but that's the version i fell in love with. I am and I will always be vocal about how rushed the final part of gen 7 was and how i'm DISGUSTED!!!!!!with the idea that a good ending implies team skull being disbanded (thus making it an ending where he didn't really learn to not run away from responsabilities :^)) but for the most part it's great and i love him.
USUM can choke fr fr ♥ I like the interaction he has with Hau in the Garden, but that's about it
that was the beginning of Lusamine being woobified because This Woman Can't Be Evil I Fucking Guess (and while i have 0 idea of how hes handled in Masters i did see their interactions with mutual respect and i want to blow myself up), and by extention their relationship being instead written in a more healthy way that. i genuinely can't fucking see. like fuck off USUM all my homies hate USUM they did great with Necrozma they did okay with Rainbow Rocket i wish Guzma's personality wasn't Lusamine Guard Dog Except Without The Nuance Bc We're Afraid Of Evil Women Haha like cmon man!!!!!!!!!!!!
i have. so many mixed feelings about PokeSpe. i'm going to say it right away i think it's mid the battles are great everything else but mostly how female characters are written is okay at best terrible at worse. from the little i saw they really decided to keep his undying loyalty to Lusamine and i hate it here but i enjoy how they managed to write him slightly more unhinged.
the anime did him justice actually. I still think he wouldn't touch the League, ever, and he wouldn't get mad at Golisopod for an ability he should know he has (miss me with that "he's just pretending he doesn't know :)" the anime makes it very clear), but i like his competitivity and his arrogance and how they handled his finale a lot. with the years i made peace with aniGuzma and i think he's very neat despite my problems with the anime (coughlusaminecough). i'm not particularly annoyed with how they confirmed he decided to start a war on alola bc he couldnt be a trial captain either, with how the anime is written i can see that as a good reason actually
idk i like how they managed to make him feel like a proper threat and a good "final antagonist". good shit

I'm assuming, anon, that in coming to a spn blog, you will not be insulted if the majority of these are spn blorbos. I'll go from best to worst. Also, can't tell if you mean "objectively good at sex" or like "good at sex in my opinion." I'm gonna assume the latter because it's funnier.
Gomez & Morticia Addams - 20/10 - They would both score very high separately, but you cannot separate them. That's illegal. Canonically they are hot and they are fucking. Probably use knives in interesting ways, and that's on vanilla days.
Nick spn - 15/10 - I feel like Nick should not be up this high?? i'm sorry, i'm not immune to sad pathetic wife man. Again, canonically? he fucks. Pros: i could definitely top this man and he would be very into it. Cons: is in love with the devil? I mean, that's not so much a con to me but ymmv.
Kratos (God of War) - 13/10 - Oh! My newest blorbo! Look at him! He's huge! He's got big muscles! He is capable of both cutting someone's head off with a ax and also great gentleness! I REPEAT: CANONICALLY FUCKS! FUCKS SO WELL HE LANDED A HOT GIANT LADY!!!
Agnes Montague - 12/10 - Okay. Here me out. In the thirty seconds before all the flesh melted off your bones, Agnes Montague would blow your mind. And then, yes, literally blow your mind. But it would be so, so, so worth it. To me.
Raphael - 10/10 - I should be clear that I'm not rating Raphael so much on actual skill as on like. Vibes. Did you see that lightning? The drama? Imagine that, but during sex. Would you end up with some weird scars? Maybe. But the experience would be worth it.
Gabriel - 9/10 - Objectively probably pretty good at sex. He's been around a long time. However, it would also be extremely weird. This man thinks lava lamps set the scene. Sex is half a performance and half an experiment. And you know what? I love that. I want in. I wanna see what weird shit he'd get up to trying to be sexy.
Sam Winchester - 9/10 - Ruby/Sam sex scenes awoke something in me and I haven't been the same since. 'Nuff said.
Will Graham - 7/10 - Definitely cries during sex. This is not a con to me. He is weird and feral, and I dig that in a man. Probably gives good head.
Cersei Lannister - 5/10 - She is blonde and scary. Also, has a lot of experience. Canonically fucks? Taking points off for most of that experience being with her other family members, but I Am Not Immune To A Hot Mess On A Throne.
Lucifer - 4/10 - Canonically fucks (derogatory.) You can't tell me that sex with him would not be awkward as all hell. Best case scenario is that he's a bossy pillow princess. Worst case scenario is that you get exploded into very unsexy meat chunks. However... that tongue tho....
Blue Oak - 3/10 - Let's just say, I don't think their sex lives is what's holding the Blue/Red Alola marriage together.
Michael spn - 2/10 - Has the same problems as Lucifer except he's just regular bossy. Will present you with a spreadsheet describing how well you performed afterwards.
GLaDOS - 1/10 - No. No. Absolutely not. Well, maybe- NO.
Jonathan Sims - 0/10 - Canonically does not fuck. Good for him. Probably a terrible cuddler, too.

In regards to your latest ask, the one about a potential Villain Champions AU
You are so true King, Geeta is the worlds biggest Diantha simp, both platonically and romantically. Someone looks at Diantha wrong and she’s already there with her Kingambit. She’s had blood on her hands since she was young, all for her queen
Also, you know I’m a Iris and Hau enthusiast just as much as you are a Diantha and Geeta enthusiast, so of course my first thought was about my two beloved champions
Just thinking about Iris when she became champion and she meets the rest. They’re all being friendly to her and getting to know her over the next few months. Becoming the family she was missing in her life
Then one day she mentions that one of the higher ups of the Unova League thinks that she shouldn’t hold the title of champion, that she’s to inexperienced for it and the only reason she got it was because Alder retired and she used Draydens influence as gym leader to get it. Doesn’t matter that she’s a child prodigy, she couldn’t have won against Alder. Man were the others mad, they didn’t show it of course but the next day when Iris woke up she saw his picture on the news saying he was found dead in his office. Now with the league closed for investigation she gets to spend more time with the others :). I like to thing she starts picking up their “villain habits” the more she visits them. Like knowing how to lie, being sneaky, how to intimidate others, using blackmail, how to use Pokémon to get rid of bodies (courtesy of Geeta, Diantha and Lance, she thought they were joking), etc…
Now a couple years later Hau joins them. And just like with Iris people looked down on him for being young and “inexperienced” and exclude the fact that he’s also a child prodigy. He’s obviously bummed out about hearing people talk negatively about him and when the others ask what’s wrong he tells them. None of them were more pissed than Iris because how dare these random people talk shit about her friend, her younger brother, a champion, The Champion of Alola. They don’t have any right to talk down about their superior, the strongest trainer in their region. Who could easily wipe the floor with them if he pleased. But she knows Hau is to nice to do anything about it and he’s asked his friends not to interfere so she steps in for him
Imagine how pleased the older champions will be when they hear the news of a “wild” haxorus attacking a group of people in Alola and she offhandedly mentions that they won’t be bothering Hau anymore

Like imagine tho Leon giving Iris that validation tho bc he also became champion when he was young, like the youngest to be champion compared to all of em, and he tells them just how great it was, how people older than him was scared of him, how they all regarded him as the most powerful trainer in their region, and Iris just took every word he said, bc if Leon said that then it's true, they she really does have the right to look down on people
And like cjdmdn getting to the point where Iris told Hau abt it too, how Leon and Cynthia and even Diantha told her that she's a Champion, they're both Champions, and they're the strongest trainers in their region, in the world, so why would Hau ever be scared of confronting those who aren't even worthy to share his space
God y'know w this imagine tho if at one point Hau kept thinking abt it, and hey maybe he's alone that day and suddenly someone went to him and said how he really shouldn't be champion, bc even Hala, his own grandfather, was surprised he managed to beat Kukui, and imagine that'd be enough to make him snap tho, he got mad and told that guy off but the mf just went on going "aw, what're you gon do? Tell your mom? Oh wait! She doesn't even like you too!"
"I don't care! I have the other Champions and they like me!"
"hah! The Champions? You think the champs would actually like you? Get real, that's embarrassing, Hau."
And imagine him getting so pissed he called out Decidueye, his Z Crystal glowing in the darkness, and he commands Deci to use Sinister Arrow Raid, killing the guy. And just fjmddb imagine his panic tho once he realizes what he and Decidueye did, that he ended up running away from the scene before anyone could find him and he hid in his house. Hau calling Iris and telling her of what happened tho, and to his surprise Iris was so proud of him that he finally sees what being a Champion is like, getting rid of those who doubt them, those who aren't worthy to live in their world

Aahh omg hi it's been a minute 😅😅 School life, am I& right-?
ok, I'm& gonna use this as an opportunity to ramble now hehe >:)
So is it just me who thinks Leon being implied to be treated like a literal celebrity is kinda a missed opportunity because they didn't make it a whole plot point :0?? I& mean, i& think it would've been a p interesting and unique (for Pokémon anyway) idea, no?
Idk if it's just me& who would've found it interesting for there to be Celebrity Struggles™, but?? :O
By celebrity struggles, I& mean things like what if Leon was unable to go into public without being swarmed at best and in danger at worst, or never being able to find friends who couldn't look past his champion status, or Hop and his family having to live in solitude to avoid being stalked, or even Hop being bullied out of jealousy from other kids, etc etc

So, taking a more realistic view at Leon and his life actually makes him significantly more interesting imo?? :00 Ik Pokemon is a kid's franchise and all, but HEESH,, IT'S MORE INTERESTING WHEN DARKER XDD
I& mean, Im& like 99% sure in Twilight Wings, there's a scene where the protagonist literally says "the champion isn't really smiling, is he?" while watching Leon get interviewed so liKE AM I REALLY THAT FAR OFF-- ASDFGHJKLKKF
Well, to be fair, the games are the most well-known and kid-friendly adaptation of Pokémon so they probably couldn't exactly include questionable dialogue like in that example but 😭😭 YK, it's fun to imagine

Leon's struggles as a champion is definitely something that would have been interesting to dive into. We got crumbs from the game and some animated stuff. Not for Leon, but got the other gym leaders too. Raihan would talk about how people can leave harsh comments about his battles, due to his social media presence. In twilight wings there was a segment with the gym leaders being interviewed, clearly at a time where it should be for themselves ( Gordie eating, Nessa just going for a walk, Piers literally telling the camera man to fuck off lol). Galar is the first instance where the gym leaders and champion are treated as celebrities. Eyes are always on them. For Leon in particular, it's shown ( through crumbs) that he isn't exactly Mr. Smiles For Miles like he presents himself to be for the public.
And it's not like pokemon can't go into dark topics. Alola is known for having the subtext ( or text really) of abuse between the Aether siblings and Lusamine. In gen 5, Ghetsis exists, as well as his cult turned terrorist group in Team Plasma. Though, those examples are more for the antagonists of the story. Going into celebrity culture in swsh doesn't just apply to the villains here haha. So yes, I would argue that there's a lot more that could have been brought to light like you& said. It's especially hard when the focus isn't fully on that aspect. Hop would have been a great vehicle for that, but at the same time he idolizes his brother. It would be easy for him to simply not look at the reality of some things because his brother is all he knows.
That, plus the fact if we really want to go deeper into the celebrity culture/ struggle angle,then the game itself would have had to present itself differently. Something has to happen for characters like Leon show up and maybe imply more about what they are feeling and such.
I don't want this to get long, so I'll just end off by saying that with so many ideas that can come from swsh, especially with the characters, it's no wonder there's rewrites or heavy character analysis on them. Especially Leon. Poor guy needs a break.

Pokemon Anime Series Ranked (in my opinion)
Kalos: Yeah, obviously. Ash has his shit together, he has a whole ass emotional arc, Serena has an amazing arc, Jessie is living her best life, Everything with Zygaurd is great, the tie in to the mega evolution specials were great, only complain os that Clemont was kinda annoying but he has great moments too and Bonnie was cute and also Ash should have won.
Kanto: It really is such a banger, absolutely iconic. Notging beats the banter between the original gang and Team Rocket fucking rocked, not much in the way of a story but that's kinda part of the charm, world's best turn it on just for background noise show.
Unova: I just fucking love the animation man. It's kinda slow in the beginning but I like it, I am actually am Iris lover but Cilan is actually just kinda obnoxious. Team Rocket is also fucking great here and I ador Team Plasma, the fact that we never got the original intended plot with them makes me so sad. (Also this was the pokemon anime I grew up on so nostalgia plays a massive role here,,)
Hoenn: I love that they change it up by letting Ash only have pikachu, and I kinda like May but only after she realizes what she wants to do with her life, Max is perfect I love him. The pacing is fucking excellent amd I love the story, probably would be greta if everything except Team Magma and Aqua's bullshit and Team Rocket's everything wasn't so forgettable
Journeies: A bit upset we didn't get Ash in Galar but eh. Goh is a lovely character and I'm glad we get pokedex completion enthusiast representation. It's also pretty cool we get a meaning to whatever the fuck pokemon master is supposed to be. The correct way to break formula
Johto: Like Kanto but worse, actually kinda boring. It's not terrible it's just... everything else exists. At least it's short unlike fucking Sinnoh which os 190 episodes of fuck all
Alola: I love the characters and that's probably it. I don't like the direction they took, there's a way to break formula and this isn't it also Team Rocket looks stupid in the art style
Sinnoh: The pacing is so bad I want to set myself on fire. Ash has good pokemon here but it takes so fucking long to get to the point I'm crying. Gen 4 had one of the best stories in pokemon but unlike Black and White it fucks itself over so much it can't make use of it. Sorry Sinnoh

Uhhhhhh meanwhile in Alola
Nanu internally was finally no longer in pain, even his headache went away, but now he was hearing things. He tried to talk to Giovanni, but since Mitchell was staying with him it was difficult to get alone time to discuss matters. Mitchell didn't need to get wrapped up in old rocket drama, or have to deal with Gio. He loved Gio but even he knew the baggage that came with befriending him was vast, and Mitchell didn't need anything that would allow the public to crucify him.
The voices seem to be coming from the many meowths that he owned. It's physically impossible humans are not able to understand pokemon, it's that simple. Even the mimikyus that were visiting seemed to have things to say. It's been driving him up the wall all things considered. He sighs, maybe Mitchell coukd help he has been staying with Nanu for a month now, he would notice if something was wrong.
Mitchell smiled watching Nanu creep into the living room. "Ah you seem to be in better shape today Nanu." He hums letting himself be swarmed by the cats, who kept repeating alpha and thanks.
Nanu furrowed his brows trying to ignore the constant talking, but he couldn't. He threw his arms up and sighed. "I'm going crazy Mitchell, I just can't stop these fucking voices. First the body pain then I'm hearing voices my genetics are done."
Mitchell raised a brow and snapped his fingers making all of the Pokémon disperse with a ok alpha. "What are you hearing." He says getting up to check Nanu's temperature.
Nanu frowns feeling the abnormally cold hand touch his forehead. "Well they all just have different versions of yes alpha whatever that means." He sighs and slouches. "I'm just hearing things aren't I."
Mitchell eyes widen for a second looking down at Nanu. "Well I mean that's what all the pokemon call me Alpha because I am one it's a term of respect." He scratches the stubble on his chin. "They don't call me Mitchell even though I have asked."
Something in Nanu twists as the pieces come together. He wasn't a dumb man, but this sounded outlandish. "They are talking to you?" He waves his hand dismissing that thought. "You hear them too, it's the pokemon talking." More of a statement then a question.
"Well of course I do it would be a disaster if I couldn't." Mitchell hums. "And you don't have a fever."
Nanu presses his fingers to his lips. "You understand pokemon, and now I can too." He pauses biting his lip. "You're a half pokemon aren't you?"
Mitchell smiles. "No I am not, I am am alpha pokemon though." He frowns watching Nanu's expression change to one of something couldn't identify. "Oh shoot I'm sorry. I trust you but I shoukd of revealed that I'm sorry, did I scare you. Oh no uh I cam leave."
Nanu takes a breath. "Ok a lot of things make sense about you now, but it doesn't explain my predicament." He lets out a long sigh and gives Mitchell a blanket. "Just hold this."
Mitchell frowns in confusion his previous worry is gone. "Why a blanket?"
Nanu sighs and smiles. "I dunno feel better."
"I do? How did you do that?" Mitchell hums looking excited.
"Distractions are great for calming one down."

Hi again! Just wanted to know your opinion on the Pokemon villains, especially towards a chance of redemption. I think the only villains that kinda got redeemed was Archie and Maxie, learning that what they did was a mistake ( a little too late tho) and maybe Colress ( being the true neutral he is), through the Alola games. But yeah, what's you're opinion on them?

I’ve been sitting on this ask for a bit just trying to gather my thoughts. To be honest, the Pokemon Villains are some of my least favorite aspects of the games, mainly because in my opinion they’re rarely handled well (except for original Team Plasma and Team Skull, those guys are amazing and I except no slander of either)
I’ll start with Team Rocket. They have a very basic but realistic evil goal (especially in a setting as fantastic as the world of Pokemon). I honestly can’t say I dislike them. I would like to see more teams using their concept of just taking advantage of Pokemon for profit and selfish reasons rather than trying to tie in some philosophy (because to be honest in my opinion most of the teams who try to use philosophy to justify their extremism just end up looking really stupid for the most part). I like Kanto Team Rocket better than Johto’s plot and Rainbow Rocket was only good for the “what if” aspect and adding to the new multiverse lore. As far as redemption...I don’t think Giovanni or the grunts really deserve it.
For Team Aqua and Team Magma, I actually like them in a “so bad it’s good” type of way (definitely nostalgia based as even though I got into Pokemon during the original anime, I didn’t get to play a main game until gen 3). Like the idea of having two separate evil teams competing against each other to see who can enact their plans first is a super cool concept in my opinion but wasted on the idiocy of the “expand the land/expand the sea” goals. I will say I enjoyed their Emerald enhanced plot and ORAS’s expansion on them in the Delta Episode. I think the Emerald clash of Kyogre and Groudon was the most logical conclusion to their schemes. As far as redemption goes, I do think Maxie and Archie should’ve served some jail time like Chairman Rose because their plan was just as catastrophic if not more so.
For Team Galactic, ugh. They’re my second least favorite. They were just boring and made an already painfully slow game even more intolerable. This is where I give the Pokemon Anime credit, they made them more interesting in the games and I actually really loved how it was adapted (proof that when they want to the anime can have some really solid writing). Redemption for them? Nope, you literally tried to rewrite the world. Even with Cyrus’ tragic backstory...still nope.
Now for Team Plasma. This is how you do an evil team. Easily one of my favorite teams to actually go up against in game. I like that they actually tried to tackle an ethical question with Pokemon in Team Plasma. N was a fantastic antagonist and I’m glad he saw the light at the end and he definitely deserves the redemption. And all of the Team Plasma grunts who actually believed in N’s goal deserve redemption. I really enjoyed what they did in BW2 where they had the Plasma House with the misguided former grunts and the confrontation between the old team plasma and Neo Team Plasma about how ostracized the reformed grunts are. Although I don’t like Neo Team Plasma as much (although the outfits are 100 times cooler), it does make sense that the ones still loyal to Ghetsis would try for another attempt. Also it took me a second runthrough of White 2 to really appreciate Colress and his “this is for science” mantra but you know what, I love him. Him and N are really awesome and deserve the redemption. Ghetsis can go jump in a fucking volcano though, him and his followers (:
As for Team Flare, they suffer a lot from not getting a sequel or third version. But like Team Galactic the anime adaptation did a lot of good for them. Team Flare is like Team Aqua/Magma for me in that I think they’re so bad it’s actually good. They actually had some funny dialogue bits and there was actually a lot of potential for them storywise if we had of gotten another Kalos game. The Great War, and AZ all had a lot of potential. Plus having an Elite 4 member working with them? That was more of a twist than Lysandre being the boss. And the Xerosic post-game plot was heartbreaking. Redemption wise though, it’s kind of hard to do with a group who literally tried to nuke the world.
Team Skull. I love these guys. I love them so much. This is another example for me personally of an evil team done right. I really liked how they weren’t even evil, just frustrated youth who were failed by Alola’s tradition. Like I could seriously go on about how toxic the Alolan community really is if the fact that a child failing the island challenge (a coming of age journey) somehow makes them feel so down about themselves and feel like rejects to the point they join a literal gang to find some sort of belonging (this is of course not talking about the origins of Team Skull being from a disgraced Kahuna who incurred the wrath of the tapus). Like I feel so sorry for them and I wanted to yell at the Kahunas in game for them not recognizing that their traditions were creating the Team Skull problem. Team Skull definitely deserved their redemption as they reformed in the post game
Aether Foundation though, ugh. Easily my least favorite. I really disliked the Aether Family as a whole as I felt they were invasive to the plot and that the focus should’ve been on team skull and how traditions while important can have harmful consequences. I will say it was nice to have female antagonist and I vastly prefer SM Lusamine to USUM Lusamine. USUM Lusamine was more redeemable but she was less interesting and USUM really screws up Lillie’s development which I dislike (which is saying something because I really can’t stand Lillie).
Team Yell was a disappointment. Honestly there was so much potential because like Team Skull they are a very grounded team (as you can see, I like the grounded in reality teams more so than the philosphical extremist ones). Like I can totally understand why they would form considering how dilapidated Spikemuth is. The issue is that they aren’t given a chance to do much actual evil. Even though Team Skull wasn’t really all that bad, they still did bad things. Which is realistic given their desperation. As desperate as Team Yell was to get Marnie to become champion I was expecting more sabotage and outright hostility. Which while being bad, would be realistic given their situation. That and the fact that no one really calls out the fact the irony of their sabotage actually delegitimizing Marnie’s strengths as a trainer. Like is Marnie truly one of the strongest trainers from the gym challenge or were their people who could’ve beat her who got targeted by Team Yell and ultimately dropped out? Not to mention the implications of ongoing beef between Team Yell and Chairman Rose. Again so much potential wasted. If they had of just made them just a tad more hostile and had someone point out how they were unintentionally making Marnie look bad, they’d easily be one of my favorites.
Macros Cosmos. I think this was the team most screwed over by the plot, and the controversial anime adaptation did them only a few favors. I’ve said this before, but the royal twins historical manipulation plot was more interesting than Rose’s “I’m going to start the Galarian Apocalypse to save Galar” plot. And the sad part is Rose could’ve been a very compelling antagonist. I’ll say that if they really wanted to make Rose an antagonist, they could’ve taken away the Eternatus plot and just used his poor communication skills to cause problems for the gym leaders and champion. A bad boss with impatience and crappy communication skills is something many people can relate to, and I think would’ve been a more interesting plot than trying to force philosophical extremism on to him because.
And lastly the Royal Twins. Man I hated them, but also they’re some of my favorite antagonists. I think people at times look solely at their goofy hairstyles and entitledness and forget how dangerous these two actually were. They had a whole network of spies loyal to them? Imagine a game with them as the main protagonists where it gets to the point you can’t trust the NPCs because who knows which one supports them. Also their historical revision plot is something so relevant today with textbooks being written in a way to minimize horrible atrocities such as the trans-Atlantic slave trade. Granted their plot in game left a lot to be desired, but they had so much potential and honestly a better reasoning to want to awake Eternatus than Rose did.
As you can see I prefer the more grounded teams such as Rocket, Plasma, Skull and Yell (in theory) and the Royal Twins given how their goals relate to the real world. I also think in many ways Gamefreak does better with those plots wiriting wise than the philosophical extremist teams.

okay! so the pokemas legendary event: father or foe. I have things to say so I will say them. and if you don’t want spoilers, uhmmm don’t read this! okay thanks okay.
first of all, i like how ghetsis just. shows up. like he’s just there. that’s great, A+ Second of all, I know the point of that battle between N, Silver, Brendan and Norman was to showcase how strong Brendan and Norman’s father-son bond was. but it’s so fucking funny to me that they’re fighting against two legendary pokemon. and they’ve got a fucking slaking and a fucking uhh sceptile like. Ho-oh is fucking fire/flying, but Norman and Brendan won??? but whatever, moving on.
glad that they put silver in this. like even with the plot point later on with giovanni, i just like that silver is here. i like silver. i like his way of speaking. because in a world of pokemon protagonists that are naive and idealistic, silver’s realism and straightforwardness is very needed. so thanks silver, for being that bro.
anyway, I love N’s answer to Ghetsis’ proposition for them to be father-son again. He says he just needs time to think. That shows such maturity. And the fact that they put that alongside Nate’s very black and white (lol) way of thinking, is good. Nate is like “Ghetsis did some fucked up shit. get him outta here” but N has history with Ghetsis and is hesitant.
and y’know what, Nate is right honestly, because Ghetsis did some fucked up shit!! I know a lot of people have not played gen 5 but Ghetsis is a BITCH!!! He’s manipulative and abusive, he said some fucked up shit to N, he tried to fuck over unova TWICE, he’s not a good dude. And it’s interesting! bc in bw2, y’know, former team plasma members are trying to make up for their crimes from the first game. and they point out that all they can do is apologize and do better, like they can try and make up for what they did and do what they can to make things right. and that’s what some of them are doing. and they acknowledge that this doesn’t like erase people’s pain or make them entitled to forgiveness.
but on the other side of that, you have ghetsis, who is not at all interested in that shit. he doesn’t think he’s done anything wrong, he doesn’t want to change, fuck unova, fuck everything and everyone! So yeah! Nate is like FUCK GHETSIS and honestly, everyone should be like that but they weren’t there in unova so they get a pass.
and N is just hesitant. Because he sees that father-son bond and he wants that. he wants that connection. and think about how that resonates with so many people playing this game. like it fucking resonated with me! you want a bond with a family member that’s hurt you, and they come to you to try and make amends... and say it’s idealistic or naive or stupid, but there’s hope that it could work out this time.
ghetsis has manipulated and abused N in the past, and N knows this most of all, but he’s willing to move forward with their relationship if Ghetsis has truly changed. DAMN! that hits me hard. too many times we try and give people a second chance when they say they’ve changed, but it turns out they fucking haven’t and they hurt us all over again.
But I like that N takes the time to decide. He talks to Alder and gets his opinion, and I like that Alder is just honest as fuck about it. And N takes that into consideration, but still makes the choice himself, just like Silver advised him to. This is a choice he made after weighing his options and the outcomes.
And honestly, I was like... Ghetsis could go either way. They could keep him evil and have this be him trying to manipulate N again, OR they could pull a lusamine and have the story and the characters just forget about the abuse that he put N through and the chaos he put unova through. And I’m so happy to see that they kept him evil because HE IS evil and! He’s as fucking heartless as ever, being honest about how everyone is a tool to him.
That’s refreshing as fuck to me. After lusamine, i had no fucking hope for this game but DAMN let’s go, okay, Ghetsis staying evil? teaming up with giovanni? nice nice nice. love it.
But also, hold on, because Silver is a hero in this event. I loved hearing what he had to say, but this line that he had is so fucking important.
IM STILL IN SHOCK THAT THEY ACTUALLY SAID THIS LIKE??? idk i just wasn’t expecting it at all, and im SO GLAD they brought it up. Silver? Getting frustrated with Nate that he’s not trying to see things from N’s point of view? Nice. Very Nice. This is why I’m glad Silver’s here, because what other character would have the guts to say this? We need that blunt honesty a lot of the time. We need that straightforwardness to put some harsh truths out there.
I like that Nate stops and considers that now, they he apologizes and is like “I was thinking more about unova than about your feelings, N” and he APOLOGIZES!! LET’S GO!
There’s some good nuggets in this event, it’s so fucking GOOD.
It keeps getting better because with Alder reassuring N and offering advice, he shows that he’s more of a fucking.. father figure than Ghetsis will EVER be but he also just says that N’s grown and he’s got a good heart and N is so shocked...! He is still 100% suffering from what Ghetsis said/did to him before! because that trauma is still there! And he needs to be surrounded by people who really and truly care about him to support him now.
Okay but moving on, the Ghetsis and Giovanni team up was cool. I like how they kept summoning team break members out of nowhere?? fantastic. and of course giovanni was gonna backstab him. fucking. ghetsis you idiot, but anyway! N seeing that ghetsis is about to get his whole ass kicked and STILL stepping up to help him out?
Mm i have some mixed feelings about it, but N CAN talk to pokemon and he didn’t want anything to happen to Kyurem. And I’m glad that they put that in there and remembered that about N’s character because otherwise i’d be like “why would he help him, Ghetsis has revealed his true colors for like the third time there’s no reason to” but it also ties back into N just feeling sorry for this mother fucker and also just wanting a father figure.
but! after the battle, they leave. and Silver just glares at Giovanni and tells him to fuck off... this poor boy, but! we also have this comparison between silver KNOWING that his father will never change and that he’s not interested in changing, and now N coming to that conclusion with ghetsis. those two are not going to change. they don’t fucking care. they’re terrible people. and it’s a hard pill to swallow but silver’s already swallowed it. and now he’s helping N to get through what he’s already gone through.
so N just saved ghetsis’ ass and now they’re outside. And N says that he knows Ghetsis hasn’t changed, and if he causes trouble N will stop him. And Nate tells Ghetsis he hates him LOL and then is like why can’t you just fucking be a better person to N like for real.
and Ghetsis continues to be a sack of shit. and Nate gets upset and says something really touching, that N just wants a normal relationship with the man he calls his father. and Nate is real sensitive to this stuff, he wears his heart on his sleeve, y’know. but a lot of male pokemon protagonists are like that (gold, brendan i think?) but it’s just touching to have Nate be really invested. to have Nate and Silver both wanting to help N, and Nate is the more sensitive and idealistic of the two and Silver just adds that touch of realism. y’know, black and white?
but N is a bit of both, now. That’s what he gained on his journey, this understanding that problems aren’t so simple and that complexity is a part of life and that sometimes there isn’t a clear right answer. and sometimes things don’t go the way that you want, no matter how much you hope or wish for things to change.
and at the end... N understands that. He understands that while Ghetsis is a piece of shit and will ALWAYS be a piece of shit, he has people and pokemon around him and that’s all he needs. he doesn’t need a father. he’s just fine without one. Silver agrees, everyone fucking agrees. and it’s fucking touching. N’s got people in his life that care about him genuinely and that’s all he needs.
and that’s a real good message because first of all, Alder is right there and found family is abound, but also, it’s not pushing this fucking narrative that you should always, always forgive your family or the people who hurt you. sometimes, your family is shit! and you cut them out of your life for your own well being! many, many people have to do that. and instead of ignoring that every family isn’t the same and that people have shitty relationships with their families, this event is like “hey, everyone’s upbringing is different” and “if people who’ve hurt you aren’t going to sincerely apologize and make the effort to change, they aren’t worth your time” and “fuck ghetsis”
like those are good messages! and im mad because WHERE WAS THIS with the lusamine event??? lusamine abused both lily and gladion, but she’s okay?? she fucking almost drove the alola region into chaos but she’s forgiven?? no. i will never be about that. lily and gladion are both better off without her because i didn’t see an apology in sumo or in pokemas, the bitch just showed up and was like “okay!! we’re family!!” and even with the sumo endgame thing of lily taking lusamine to kanto to give her treatment, i need to SEE an apology and a genuine want to change
and you know what even if there is an apology? lily and gladion aren’t obligated to forgive her. it’s their choice, sure, but i think it was a choice forced onto them instead of it being something that they, as characters, seriously consider. and?? lusamine should be in jail. so.
like there’s no obligation for these kids to forgive their abusive parents. none at all. and N’s speech to ghetsis saying “i don’t think a true father-son relationship can happen between us so easily, but if you’ve had a true change of heart, show me through battle!” is so important because he wants to see for himself if there’s been a real change. N will decide AFTER the battle and after seeing ghetsis’ motivations if they can move forward.
and where was this with lily and gladion?? what did they ask or talk about with lusamine so that they know she’s being sincere?? and y’know what, where is the distrust?? especially for lily, because lusamine did some real fucked up shit!! it’s just not handled as well, and it could’ve been a great example of “kids need to get away from their abusive parents even if they promise change” because N made a choice and was hesitant but we didn’t get to see that development with gladion and lily. i know it’s pokemon, but i definitely think there’s a way they could’ve written them,, cutting lusamine out of their lives and it being like “okay, this is the best for both of us” because lusamine was a shit mother and also gladion and lily have found family in the selene, elio, hau and professor kukui and professor brunet SO.
but this event was pretty good and there were some very good moments in here. I’m glad ghetsis will stay evil and i’m glad they put silver in there as well, thanks. BUT WHERE WAS HILBERT????? WHHHHYYYYYY!!!!!

He does! He has a Galarian accent, though I haven’t decided which one yet. I know there’s many, so I’ve gotta do some looking lol!
It doesn’t tend to change with his emotions - he’s just got his One (1) accent.

It’s not visible normally, but he has one on his back from when he was a kid. It’s from his father. Nothing more to say there. He also has scars up his arms from Tomoe, but since he has long sleeves, those aren’t usually visible either.
What kind of clothes are they usually wearing at home?
Dressy casual, usually. Catch him in a dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up, or in a sweater ( you weird brits why u callin it a jumper ) in the winter. He’s that person you’d have to pay to wear sweatpants.
Oleana

Again, Galarian accent! Also again, I need to do more research, haha. She’s from Motostoke, and thus might’ve had a different accent, so she might’ve tried to change it to fit in more with Rose and his Business People, only for her real accent to come out when she’s drunk or genuinely excited.

Negatory! Oleana is scarless, haha.

Catch Oleana being the opposite of her boss. In public, she wouldn’t be caught dead in anything less than the best, but in her own house, when she knows no one’s gonna bother her? She’s full casual. T-Shirts, sweatpants, you name it. It’s a little funny.

He has a little tiny scar on his forehead from where he got hit after Eternatus yote him, but otherwise, he’s scar free. And you can’t even really see the one on his head under his hair most of the time.

Sports casual lmao. Lots of jerseys of different trainers, shorts, sweatpants, but no capes. Fortunately.
Calyrex

Calyrex doesn’t really speak, per se, but when they communicate telepathically, they have used a Galarian accent for years to “fit in” with the Common Folk™️ on the mainland, but when they start to get excited or angry, they will go into a more... Scottish accent, because of having hung around the Tundra peoples for so long.

In Bnuuy form? Nope! In human form, though, they have a long scar running diagonally across their face from the first Darkest Day.

Alex is from the Peeple’s Repablic of Cark ( sorry had to ), of course she has an accent! She speaks an octave higher than the rest of Galar ( sorry had to ) and, while her accent doesn’t change, she does begin to speak faster and faster when she feels strongly.

Not currently, but she might soon LMAO.
What kind of clothes are they usually wearing at home?
Alex doesn’t really change her fashion sense based on whether she’s at home or not at home lmao. Whatever she wears out, she’s usually wearing at home.
Silver

Not... really? I mostly like to stick with Silver’s masters vc, but I could see him having a somewhat Italian accent whenever he starts speaking the language.

Silver does, actually! He has a scar from a laceration he got during a wild night doing crime™️ in Alola.

To be honest, I could see Silver going around buck naked if he was 100% alone. He gives Zero Fucks. If his dad were home, though, he sticks with his casual clothes - old band shirts, jeans, sweatpants. No shoes.
Mars

Much like her brother, not really. I haven’t really decided on a voice for Mars, but for right now, I’m sticking with her Generations voice. Subject to change though.

Nope! Scar free here!

Mars dresses to the nines, always. For who? Herself, damnit. She probably gets it from her father. You will never catch her outside of her best. It’s a little creepy.
N(atural)

He probably has a northeastern U.S. accent, think suburban P.A. kind of. It doesn’t necessarily change when he gets excited, but, like Alex, he does start to speak at warp speed.

Yes! N has multiple scars, from all the times he’s wrestled or played with Pokémon. Up his arms, down his back, on his chest - they’re everywhere.

Now N is definitely buck naked sometimes. Definitely. Not that he really has a home right now, and mostly hangs out in the wild, like a young, green, Taisto.
Klara

She probably has a couple just from being a stupid kid, to be honest. She was quite the clumsy kid, and didn’t exactly pay mind to where she was going.

Much like Mars, Klara is never seen less than perfect... if she can help it. She’s not exactly great at not being caught, so sometimes you’ll catch her in shorts and a tank top because it’s comfy. If you catch her like this, you’re silently sworn to secrecy. Unless you want to be on her bad side.
Lillie

Lillie doesn’t really speak with an accent, but during her time in Alola, she has picked up words and phrases. Nothing huge.

Nope. Mom was very careful to make sure she didn’t get any.
What kind of clothes are they usually wearing at home?
Skirts, T-shirts, or loose dresses. Anything light and casual that she can easily change in and out of.
Hilda

Hilda definitely has a northeastern accent, but less suburbs and more city. Think Philly or New York. It’s already fast, but it only gets faster if you make her mad.

She has Lichtenberg figures from lightning! She was struck by Zekrom’s lightning before being chosen, and has the scars to show for it.

So many band shirts. Hilda is a punk to heart, and has more pairs of ripped jeans than you can count. You’ll always find her lounging in her apartment in a combination of the two. Which band shirt and which pair of jeans? It’s a mystery.
Cheren

Cheren shares an accent with N, sort of. He’s very much a Suburbs Kid, and has that sweet suburban northeast accent. Just less pretentious because he wasn’t raised by Ghetsis.

This man doesn’t know how to wear anything but dressy formal I swear to god. He always looks like he’s ready to teach, even when he’s at home. He does swap out the contacts for his glasses, though.

Someone: Ash, don't you ever see a therapist? Ash: I did, but the last one quit the job after half a session, the one before that had to seek their own therapist, and the one before that one developed an alcohol addiction and now is in Alcoholics Anonymous, and the one before that...
God, fuck, I have a big HC and an OC for this actually!!!
Ash has gone through every league approved Therapist and Doctor because they’ve all either had to go to counciling or even refused to see him for their own sanity.
The only one who hasn’t given up on him is Doctor Luna Sanchez, a beautiful women from Alola who is a very big No Nonsense and doesn’t put up with a lot of crap. No Champion ever liked her because she was more brash then any other main Doctor and never sugar coated her words. This gives her a, albeit incredibly tiny, soft spot for Ash becaus when requested for Doctor Sanchez to be his main Doctor from the second time he had her after the Sword of the Veil incident. Ash had broken a few bones and Doctor Sanchez was in Unova near the Sword of the Veil because Alder had gotten lost and fell down a big cliff, ending up with the old man breaking his right ankle and sprained both wrists.
Everytime Ash is in the special hospital for the Champions and Gym leaders, when he’s at least conscious, he’ll great her with a big “Hello, Doctor Luna!” Before either passing out or straining his body even more just to sit up. 
Luna is usually based in the Alola-Galar area since those two regions are the closest out of each other. Though she does show up on hand for any super big events like the World Championship final just in case anything goes wrong. She’s well versed in both Human and Pokémon healing but prefers Pokémon since they are at least 50% less difficult to deal with. She’s dark skinned with bright red curly hair and freckles. Taller then the normal Alolan female height at 6’8” and she wears heels constantly. She’s related to Kahuna Olivia by mothers, which means their cousins, and that’s also why she gained the incredibly tiny soft spot for Ash because he reminds her a lot of Olivia and how she acted when they were little kids.
She see’s Ash a lot more during his stay in Alola since he lives in Kukui’s house on the beach. She usually comes over once every couple of days to check on the Pokémon living in the professors water tank because he’s nursing them back to health. Kukui was going to introduce Ash to her when he was beaten by Ash shouting a happy “Hello, Doctor Luna!” While sitting on the floor with Rockruff, Rowlet, and Pikachu. She did her usual greetings of “And hello to you too, Ash” with a respectful sip of her head. This leaves Kukui gapping like a fish while Ash giggles like the little devil he is on the floor before going back to try to take the ball Rockruff had in his mouth so they can play fetch again.
She’s also the first one to formally great him after Ash one the Alolan Champion ship once he comes in for a check up on himself and his Pokémon outside of Alola. They were in Galar, it was a quick check up because he and Goh missed their initial flight and had to spend a week extra so Ash just took the time he had, and Ash smiled because she still didn’t treat him any differently then everyone else who knew.
