Five years ago…

“Peggy, if you want to become queen, you must make sure Steven will forget about that other girl. The king is already weakened. In a few years or maybe months, Steven will become the king. If he does before he found a bride, he’ll marry that worthless harlot.”

“What can I do?” Peggy cries. She desperately wants to reignite the spark between her and Steve. “He loves that girl. Even if his father doesn’t want Steve to marry her, his heart will always belong to Y/N.”

“What if,” Sharon smirks darkly, “the girl is gone? People die every day.” She shrugs as Peggy looks at her cousin with wide eyes. “What? You want to become his wife, make sure the girl is dead.”

“But…” Peggy hesitates for a moment. “How? I cannot do it. I’m good with a knife, but killing someone…”

“Nonsense, Margaret. We will find someone to do it for us.”

“Us?”

“Yes,” Sharon stammers. “I want his brother, James. He’s so silent and mysterious. Imagine, we will rule this kingdom together.”

“Queen Margaret,” Peggy nods to herself. “I only need to get rid of that omega girl. Steven will forget about her soon enough and will be all mine…”

“Y/N,” Steve chases after his brother, “please be safe. Please. I can’t lose you.” The king panics. If he loses you again, he’ll not survive. “My love! OMEGA!”

“Y/N!!” Bucky is the first one storming into your chamber. He growls your name, as his teeth grit. He snarls like a wild animal when his brother enters the chamber moments after him.

“Sharon,” the king’s worst fear comes true. He faces the woman behind the attack as she holds a dagger to your throat. “Let her go and you won’t be harmed.”

“My king.”

The woman holding your life in her hands chuckles darkly. She presses the dagger harder into your skin, drawing blood.

“Let her go,” Bucky warns. His eyes dart left and right, searching, hoping for a way to save you. He can’t think straight as he fears, Sharon will kill you.

“My king, Lady Y/N,” Peter gasps as he enters the chamber, Sam close behind. He grips his sword tightly while looking for a way to free you. “Lady Sharon. What is this about?”

“What do you want?” the king uses his alpha voice.

You stiffen at his commanding tone; Sharon does the same. Her arm goes lax for a moment, but she gets a grip of herself very fast and presses the dagger even harder into your skin.

“Your alpha voice won’t work on me,” she cackles. “I know how to break out of your spell. No alpha will lure me in.”

“I asked,” Steve tries to tame his alpha. You look at him, scared and confused while your blood soaks the gown you’re wearing, “what do you want?”

“I came here to get rid of that thot,” she huffs now. “It was so easy to convince Margaret to kill that omega and her family. She always was a little—” Sharon smirks darkly as you whimper when she mentions your family, “dull.”

“Let my omega go,” the king grits his teeth. Spit runs down his chin and his eyes darken. “Now!” The alpha is close to losing control. Just one more step and he’ll turn into a raging alpha. “I will kill you!”

“STEVE!” Bucky warns. He needs to make sure his brother doesn’t lose control. If he does, you are lost. “Let her talk.”

“My poor cousin, so in love with an alpha not caring about her,” she laughs loudly. “I made sure that omega dies and then, Peggy can’t even get pregnant.”

“Steve,” you whimper. “I’m scared.”

Steve’s heart hurts seeing you so scared and vulnerable. He’ll give the world to save you and make sure you are never going to be scared again.

“She won’t hurt you,” Bucky softly says, but there is an edge to his voice as he glares at Sharon. “I promise.”

“I’m not done here,” Sharon warns. “I will have my moment now. I was always standing in Peggy’s shadow. Even though, I was the one behind all of this. I was the brilliant master, not her. I came up with the plan and I told her to get pregnant by King Howard. It was all me.”

“We know all this Sharon. And yes, it was brilliant of you,” Steve tries to keep his voice even. If he says the things swirling in his mind, she will kill you. “I never thought you were behind all this…”

“You don’t know every detail, my sweet Steven,” she purrs and dips her head to lick over your cheek. “After she finally got pregnant, I knew my time has come. All I had to do was push my luck a little.”

“What did you do?” you whimper.

“I read a lot of books,” Sharon chuckles. “Just like your friend Strange, I read about poison, potions, and magic. I found a way to make sure Margaret never will stand in my way again. She was such a lovely corpse, don’t you think?”

“Steve,” you swallow thickly. “You should thank Sharon for doing all this for you,” you slide something out of the sleeve of your dress. “She did it to impress you.”

“I am impressed, indeed,” Steve plays along. He holds out his hand for Sharon, fighting the urge to rip her throat out. “Lady Sharon, would you tell me more about it in private?”

“Do you think—” she screams in pain as you ram the colorful shard you were hiding in your sleeve into her thigh.

Bucky moves in a split second. He grabs her hand, the one holding the dagger, and breaks her bones.

Sharon cries in agony, whimpering as the dagger falls to the ground.

“Chain her up,” the king orders as Sam and Peter step toward Sharon. “She won’t harm anyone ever again.”

Her moment is gone. Her life was forfeited the moment she put her hands on you.

Before she could rise, Sharon fell.

“Y/N. Omega,” you want to throw yourself at Steve and never let him go, but you hug Bucky first, thanking him for reacting so fast. “My love?”

Steve whimpers as you whisper something in Bucky’s ear. The alpha nods before you rush toward Steve to hide in his arms. “Grant.”

“Buck I—” Steve’s voice cracks. “You saved her.”

“She saved herself,” Bucky pulls the colorful shard out of Sharon’s thigh, making her cry even louder. “Your omega is a strong one. She didn’t need saving…”

“You’re safe with me,” Steve didn’t let you go. After the healer took care of your wound, the king brought you to his chamber.

He made sure that you had a warm bath and gave you one of his shirts.

Steve knows Bucky saved you, but he couldn’t stand his brother’s scent on your skin.

“She just came to my chamber. Sharon said she wanted to borrow one of your books. It was my fault,” you whimper. “I let her in, Grant. You told me to be careful and I let her in…”

“Omega, my love,” he tuts as you hide your face in his chest. “You did nothing wrong. Sharon would’ve tried to hurt you either way. I failed you. Not the other way around.”

“You, Bucky, and the others saved me. Bucky saved me,” you sniffle. “I should thank him again. He knew exactly what I wanted to do.”

“Bucky said that he saw the shard in your hand. He knew you wanted to tell me too but I didn’t realize it. I was too out of it,” he nuzzles his nose in your neck. “Sharon will never hurt you again. Strange will take good care of her for me…”

“Lady Sharon,” Strange walks toward Sharon, chained to a wall in her cell. “What a pleasant surprise seeing you here.”

“We got company, huh?” Rumlow laughs in the cell right next to Sharon’s. “I never thought to see a woman again. Makes this place even nicer, doesn’t it?”

“I don’t care who ends up in my hands,” the sorcerer whispers lowly. “Woman. Man. Knight. King. Begger. It doesn’t matter to me and my … science.”

“If I were you,” his other prisoner grunts, “I’d tell him everything he wants to know and more. It’s easier this way…and less painful.”

Rumlow wraps the blanket the sorcerer gave him tighter around his body, shivering while fighting the cold and fear.

“Well then…shall we begin, my lady…”

I highly recommend that you head the warnings that come in the tags in the summary that come with this before you dive in. The author does a fantastic job warning you about each chapter as well.

Enchanted. Enthralled. Hopelessly devoted.

Steve can’t deny that his heart, soul, and body belong only to you. He’s never been so devoted to someone.

He watches you eagerly talk to Peter, telling him about the latest book you read, and the last flowers Steve helped you pick to press them too.

“See, I got them all. This way, they’ll never die,” you excitedly tell your friend about the flowers you pressed. You open one of the bigger books to show him the pressed flowers. “How have you been, Peter.”

“How have you been, Lady Y/N?” Peter asks. “I’m sorry for not being there for you lately. The king asked me to help his brother.”

“Oh, the king helped me get better at reading. He’s nicer now,” you whisper. “I hope to see more of you from now on.”

Peter bows.

“I must take my leave now. Lord Barnes needs my help again. Hopefully, we can read more books together soon. I’d was a pleasure spending time with you again.”

You smile at the young man. “Peter, thank you for spending time with me,” you softly say. “You’ll become a great knight Peter.”

“Thank you, my lady,” you giggle and wrap Peter in a hug. “Lady Y/N.” He clears his throat as the king growls low in his throat. “I should go now.”

“Of course,” you realize your mishap. “I’m sorry. It’s just…you remind me so much of my brother.” Stepping away from your friend you apologize.

“I’m honored,” cheeks shades of red Peter drops his gaze. “Thank you, my lady.”

Peter bows to the king and hurriedly leaves the chamber. He doesn’t want to anger the king. He heard Steve growl and snarl when you wrapped him in a hug.

“Steve, I’m sorry,” you whisper. “I shouldn’t have hugged Peter. I didn’t think much of it.” You can only hope Steve won’t get mad. You heard about alphas getting possessive and angry when their omega shows affection toward other men.

“Omega, my love,” Steve's features soften seeing the fear in your eyes. “I won’t hide that I don’t like watching you hug other men but,” he clears his throat and takes a deep breath. “I know you’re only mine.”

“Peter is nice, and like a brother to me. You know that” you gasp when Steve closes the distance between the two of you to bring you into his arms. He gently runs his hand over your back and shushes you.

“You need to calm, omega,” he whispers lowly. “We belong together. You’re my soulmate and my omega. I trust you with my heart.”

You sigh deeply and snuggle into his chest. For a moment, the world is at peace with you. There is no pain, fear, or sorrow. Only Steve’s calming scent lulls you into safety.

“You see, I got more than enough time to make you suffer,” Strange smirks darkly as Rumlow is whimpering like a newborn pup. What’s left of the formerly so strong and self-confident man is nothing but an empty shell.

“Mo-nster,” Rumlow spits the remnants of the potion onto the ground. “What did you give me?” He looks up at Strange, the mysterious man bringing pain over him like no man before him. “You’re the devil.”

“I’m honored,” the sorcerer throws his head back, cackling like he lost his mind. "But no. The devil fears me.” His features darken as he opens the last vial. “After I fed you this last one, you’ll do anything I want you to do. Even eat your own heart.”

“Who are you? How can the king let you roam freely,” he coughs. “You’re using black magic. That’s forbidden.”

“Magic?” Strange laughs darkly. “This has nothing to do with magic or the devil. It’s called science. I studied the human body and mind all my life. Now I know exactly what to do to break you.”

“You won’t break me,” Rumlow weakly replies. He’s already broken. His mind is close to caving in as his body already gave up. Rumlow drops to the ground, shaking in fear. “Never.”

“My poor boy.”

The sorcerer crouches down to watch Rumlow wiggle on the ground. Rumlow whines and grunts. He wets his pants as Strange gets back up to walk toward the vial.

“No more. Please.”

Strange smirks to himself as Rumlow chokes the words out.

“If you tell me everything I need to know, I won’t use the other vial,” Strange’s voice softens. He turns back around and tries to hide his excitement. “Talk, sweet boy. If not—”

“Peggy wanted to become queen,” he cries. “She wanted to get rid of the girl too. I only did what she asked me to do. I never wanted to kill the boy and the father. The brother caught me in the stables.”

“That’s a start,” the sorcerer crouches down in front of Rumlow to pat the man’s head. The touched starved and vulnerable alpha whines at the softest touch. “If you tell me the truth, the pain will end.”

“Sharon helped her,” Rumlow continues. “It was her idea to tell the king the child is his. She was already pregnant with King Howard’s child when she returned to her husband.”

“Did the queen plan all of this? Did she visit King Howard to get pregnant? I heard rumors. People assumed she’s barren.”

“Peggy was told that King Steven’s seed won’t grow inside of her. The healer said that the king’s grief won’t let his seed settle in her womb. He never knotted her,” Rumlow coughs again. “She only visited King Stark’s kingdom to conceive a child. Peggy had to give the king an heir.”

“What about King Howard? Did he know about all of this?”

“No. He only wanted to share a few intimate moments with his former lover,” Rumlow weakly replies. “He didn’t know about her plans. At least that’s what Peggy told me.”

“You mentioned Sharon,” Strange presses on while patting Rumlow’s head. “What was her role in this charade?”

“She was the one telling Peggy there’s only one way to become queen.”

“Killing Y/N.”

“Yes,” Rumlow’s eyes flutter shut. He’s too exhausted even lift his head but keeps on talking. “She’s the root of all evil, Strange. I think Sharon wanted to become queen all along. She told Peggy that she wants to marry the king’s brother, but I’m not sure about it. Sharon only ever had eyes for King Steven…”

Rumlow loses consciousness. His breathing evens out, and he stops trembling.

“Good boy,” Strange whispers in his prisoner’s ear. “We will return to our conversation later. I’ll get you a blanket and food. I hope you won’t get back to being stubborn. I would hate to continue with the procedure…”

“Not again, Natalia,” Bucky rolls his eyes as the redhead won’t stop talking about you. “I told you, there is no way. I cannot do this to my brother. He loves her!”

“You love her more!”

“That’s not a competition!” He growls. “Love is love. You cannot tell if my love is worthier. Steve deserves to get happy. He saw her first. My brother is in love with her since he was just a boy.”

“James,” she sighs now. “I’m sorry.” Natalia gently places her hand on Bucky’s arm. “I only want you to get happy. I wasn’t the one, but Y/N could…”

“Just stop,” he whispers lowly. “Please no more…”

“How about we go for a walk and talk about…anything else,” she offers, holding out her hand. “I promise to behave and tell you everything I got out of Sharon. You’ll love it…”

“You called for an audience, Sorcerer Supreme,” Steve points at one of the chairs in his study. “What can you tell me?”

“Rumlow finally talked,” Strange slowly opens his diary. “I wrote down every sin your queen, Rumlow, his men, and Lady Sharon committed.”

“What about King Howard?” the king furrows his brows. “I need to know about him first.”

“So far I can tell you that he didn’t know about Peggy’s plans. He’s an unfaithful man, and a cheater, but didn’t want to harm you, or your kingdom.”

“He fucked my wife!”

“That he did,” clearing his throat Strange turns the first page. “You already know about Peggy’s plans on getting rid of your omega. What you didn’t know is that it was Sharon’s plan all along.”

“What?” Steve growls. “Sharon? But why?”

“Rumlow assumes she wanted you,” the sorcerer laughs darkly. “You have this influence on omegas, I think.”

“I-I need to…” Steve pants heavily. “Please excuse me. Don’t leave. I need to know everything, but first, I need to make sure Y/N is safe.”

Steve stumbles out of his study and runs toward your chamber. He calls for Sam and Peter, almost running Bucky over.

“Brother. What’s wrong?”

“Sharon! She planned to kill Y/N. She’s more dangerous than we thought!”

A cold shiver runs down Bucky’s spine as he goes for a sprint, outrunning the king. He made his peace with losing you to his brother. But he’ll be damned to lose you to Sharon…

Shipwreck CH 1

The end of life as Celesti had known it went something like a boat wreck.

It started with the warning signs: evidence that their accounts were being looked into, money trails that seemingly led nowhere and Peter claiming he had found contact with another underground rebellion. But everytime she asked the other omega to see the messages he would find an excuse.

Maybe it was like his Hobbit fan fiction fase? Peter had started spending an incredible amount of time on the shared computer in the hallway and always closed the tab right before she could see what it was. So one evening when Peter had cleaning duty she snuck on his account and found an huge amount of ThorinxBilbo smut. The next day she had attempted to feign innocence but couldn’t help but ask peter if the reason Bilbo’s junk was so big was because it was equivalent with his feet. After that he vowed to ignore her for the rest of the week but, them being the only Omega’s and the rest of people in the bunker just being fucking weird, he caved after 7 hours.

After the warning signs came the inevitable blow in the form of an ear piecing alarm and the red warning lights flashing on. Navigation had never been Celesti’s strong suit, even though she had lived in the underground bunker for over 6 years she sometimes still got lost on her way home after her shift. Now, with her brain overstimulated by the flashing lights and a screeching alarm, getting to the other side of the complex seemed impossible.

So she did what was in her mind the next best thing: dove head first into the hole everyone threw their laundry in. Crawling into the pile of soft cloth like a hamster burrowing in aspen shavings, she attempted to relieve the pain in her ears.

Just then fase 3 of the shipwreck came.

Silence.

Not a single pin drop was heard. Buried under at least twenty layers of towels, bedsheets and clothes, Celesti, who usually was the main source of noise in the 67 people bunker, was now afraid to even breath.

How many times hadn’t she dreamed of the earth splitting above her head so she could crawl out and rejoin civilization. But she couldn’t. Not if she wanted to be free. Well as free as one can be when hunted by an oppressive government who didn’t see her as a human being.

She kept it together for the full 7 minutes and 45 seconds, which was a new record by the way. By that time it felt like the air in her safe place had run out and was bored out of her mind. The best way to get to the surface of the huge pile was to make swim like movements and grab on to anything she could find (Ieuw was that a string?) Funking kinky betas.

When Celesti resurfaced it was pitch black in the laundry room. she felt around the wall until she reached the door but to her utter horror it was locked. They were in the middle of freaking attack. And she was locked in the laundry room with a bunch of smelly beta socks. The best way out was to crawl back up the laundry shaft so she braced herself on the sides of the narrow space and started the exhausting journey back up.

Tears of frustration formed a tiny river from the young Omega’s face, into her hairline and onto the giant pile of laundry she was still stuck on. Her 23th attempt to crawl back up had resulted in being face planted by a goddamn bra.

This wasn’t her fault, she decided. It was all Tony Starks fault. If he hadn’t broadcasted his ‘omegas are weak and need to be cared for’ propaganda all over the world, she wouldn’t have to run and take suppressants. And she wouldn’t be stuck in this situation. Letting out a scream in frustration the 19 year old kicked her feet out.

“Hello! Is someone in here?”

If only she wasn’t so fucking impulsive. If she would have stopped to think about why that voice sound so familiar for five seconds, this entire situation could have ended differently. But she didn’t.

And when the voice offered to pull her out she gladly extended her arms towards him.

She’d even been stupid enough to hug him.

“Oh thank you so much. It was getting tight in there,” it took him just a second too long to put her down again after she’d released her vice like grip around his neck.

“What block are you from? Where do you work? What’s your name? Do I know you?” She fired questions at the stranger.

“My name is Grant but I don’t think we have met.” Then why did he sound so damn familiar.

She reached out for him again in the darkness and her hands landen on his (very impressive) abdominal muscles.

“Damn, are you sure you’re a beta,” She mentally face planted as soon as the words left her mouth and was glad he couldn’t see her red face in the dark.

“I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to feel you up,” She totally did. “I swear I’m not normally like this,” She totally was.

“It all right, sweetheart,” His giant hand cupped her face and she had to resist the urge to lean into it.

“Let’s get going now. I know the way,” he grabbed her hand an pulled her along.

Steve never thought it would be this easy. She just went with him. No fuss.

Honestly he felt kind off bad for what he was about to do. But it was for het best for her.

She needed to be protected. Not locked away in a bunker.

“Grant? Do you know if my best friend got out? His name is Peter and he’s an omega too. He’s got curly brown hair and brown eyes. Tall.”

She was so godamn adorable. He was dying to see her face in real life. Peter had send some pictures of her to Tony but that wasn’t the same.

“Yeah, I crossed him in the hallway. We’re headed that way now.” He couldn’t help but run his tumb over her knuckles at her relieved little sigh.

The team had flashlight on and were making quite some noise.

Celesti started slowing as they neared the group. Her unadvanced eyes were not strong enough to recognize any of them but she instinctively hesitated.

“Grant, I don’t know if that’s -“ She started but Steve quickly cut her off “It’s okay, honey. It’s okay. Nothing bad is going to happen to you, Celesti,”

By now he was dragging her along by her hand.

“I never told you my name,” She dug her heels into the ground. Steve turned around and she finally got a good look at his face. He could see the fear creeping into her eyes.

She was trying to pull her hand from his grip but he didn’t relent she raised he leg to kick him where the sun don’t shine. Luckily he grabbed her leg just in time and held onto it so she was left awkwardly hobbling on her other leg.

Over her shoulder Steve noticed Bruce approaching them with a needle in his hand. He pulled her closer by her leg, turned her around, held her hands in one hand and her chin up in the other.

“It’s going to be fine, sweetheart. It’s just a little pick. We’ll take care off the rest, “ he stroked her jawline with his tumb. Her angry curses turned into scared whines as soon as the alcohol swap met her skin.

“I know, I know. You’re scared but it will be over in a minute. Shhhh.”

Steve winched at the pained and terrified sound that left her when the needle entered her neck.

As soon as Bruce pulled the needle out he turned her to face him again and coed at how brave she was being. Tears covered her cheeks and her nose was running but he still pressed her face against his chest, hands tangled in her blond locks.

Slowly she sagged against him, her eyes fluttering closed. The super soldier carefully picked her up and walked towards the others.

Bucky was the first to approach them, greeting Steve with a passionate kiss and pressing his lips affectionately against the side of Celesti's head.

Next to walk up was tony “There she is. I was starting to think the little lady had somehow ran off. Where was she hiding?” Tony stroked the golden curls away from her face.

“She wasn’t really hiding. Poor thing got scared and crawled into the laundry room. She was stuck and couln’t get out,” Steve laughed affectionately.

“Now let’s get her out of here. She has spend enough time in this hellhole.”

You knew something was off the moment you entered your house. Energy crackled in air as you moved in, the smell in the air absolutely Alpha, and that made no sense since you were a beta. Three different alpha scents overlapped each other, but you recognized only Peter’s, your best friend’s. You crossed the hall to your living room, your dagger in your hand. Peter’s scent was emanating such fear as you had never sensed before, and you would kill anyone who harmed a hair on his head.

You turned the last corner and entered the living room, stopping short in your tracks at the sight that met your eyes. You rushed forward, the dagger falling from your hand as you knelt in front of Peter, bloodied and tied to a chair in the center of the room.

“Peter! Oh my god, what happened Peter?” You asked, your hands cupping his puffed face. His eyes were swollen shut, a groan escaping his lips when your cold hands met his feverish skin.

“Y/n…” It seemed as if it took all his energy to whisper your name and you heart broke seeing your best friend this way.

“Hey hey, calm down. I’m here, I am gonna let you out of these ropes. Pete! Keep your eyes open!” You patted his cheek, making his eyes flutter. It took him a moment to focus on your worried face but when his eyes locked on yours, anguish and panic filled them.

“Y/n, no! Go away, run. They are here. GO!” Peter shouted, struggling in the ropes as if he just wanted to push you away from here.

“Peter, what are you talking about. Lemme cut these ropes.” You turned back to get your dagger but found it missing. Your brow furrowed, you remembered dropping it when you rushed to Peter.

“Run” Peter croaked and you looked at him over your shoulder, your body stiffening as what Peter had said finally clicked.

Whoever had hurt him was still in your house. Two alphas. You could smell their scent, somewhat familiar but you couldn’t remember exactly whom. As a Beta you didn’t pay much attention to alphas, other than those closest to you. But these must be two very strong alphas to have hurt Peter, an enhanced avenger.

You stood up cautiously, eyes scanning every part of the room. You weren’t an avenger but a trained analyst and could hold your own. Blood stained your furniture, the TV console disturbed and the small knickknacks you decorated your house with strewn about. Clear signs of struggle. You took in the two glasses sitting on your table, the dirt staining your otherwise clean rug and the disturbed cushions on the couch. Whoever they were, they made themselves home. And they hurt Peter.

“I know you are here, come out. You know I am unarmed, so there really is no reason to hide.” You called out loud, your voice strong despite the heaviness in your heart. Anyone who could do that to Peter would very easily take you down. You crept back towards Peter, eyes still taking every inch of your house even as your hand touched his cheek. Peter whimpered, in pain or concern you didn’t know.

“Hold on for me Pete, I’m gonna get us out of here. No one’s gonna hurt you on my watch.” You told him, not even sure if he was following what you said.

When no one emerged for a couple of minutes, you wondered if it will be safe running to your kitchen to get another weapon, or the gun that you hid in your bedroom. You didn’t have time to think over why anyone would harm Peter in your house of all places. When you worked with Shield and the avengers, shit happened for no reason at all. You took a risk and turned your back to the door, kneeling before Peter again. You tested the ropes with your hands and huffed when you found them tight.

“Hey Pete, can’t you hear me? I’m here with you, all right? You just hold on for me sweetie.” Your voice cracked just a little over the pathetic whimper that escaped Peter’s mouth. You were just a little older to him, and you knew no one who would harm such a sweetheart as him. Your hand pushed his hair away from his forehead, soft over the cuts that littered his body.

“You may wanna stop touching him now, cupcake.” A voice behind you called suddenly and you whipped around, stance wide and protective in front of Peter. Before you could even say anything, your eyes widened in shock.

“Sargent Barnes?” You sputtered, absolutely not expecting him to be here. But then you sniffed the air, and his scent filled your lungs, and you finally realized why it was familiar. You worked in the same tower as him, sometimes directly with him. And if he was here, then the other scent must belong to –

“Hello Y/n, how are you?” Captain America asked, appearing from behind Bucky.

“I – what? You both?” You brain had short circuited. You thought they would be the people you would report this to, not the ones responsible for it.

“Sorry for the mess, cupcake. But Spidey-boy here gave us a good fight.” Bucky remarked, his head cocked to the side.

Anger and fear rose like bile in your chest, your face heating with emotion.

“You hurt him! Why?”

Steve ambled towards you and you shifted, your body angling in a way to hide Peter from their sight. He stopped in his tracks, brows raising and eyes narrowing.

“Don’t come near him, let us leave.” You hoped your voice was commanding but seeing Steve fold his arms across his chest in annoyance your confidence crumbled.

“No need to get so defensive cupcake. The kid’s been asking for it for ages.” Bucky scoffed, still standing between you and the exit.

“He – he is a kid. The nicest goddamn person I know. Why would you hurt him?” You questioned, your guard on. Any small sign of movement and you were ready to fight.

“Why?” Steve gave a humorless laugh. “Because he’s been stinking you up with his scent. We can’t go a day without you smelling like him, his scent clinging all over you.”

Your jaw almost dropped to the ground. What the fuck? “Excuse me?”

“Sweetie, you can’t go smelling like another alpha. We don’t like it, and we thought we needed to have a talk with the kid about it. Man to man, you know. But unfortunately, he didn’t agree with our thoughts. Poor boy thought he’d be able to fight us for your honor”

Steve’s word hit your heart like a dagger, and you stumbled back closer to Peter. You didn’t know what the fuck was happening, but it didn’t seem to be faring well for you. Steve and Bucky seemed to have lost their fucking minds, and you needed to escape. Go someone far, maybe find Tony Stark and let him know that his teammates beat up his protégé.

“I don’t understand,” You fretted.

“I’ll explain if you move away from the boy and come here. We won’t hurt you, you gotta believe me cupcake.” Bucky promised coming forward and held out his hand for you.

You shook your head and your hands found Peter who was almost unconscious with blood loss now. Steve growled when your hands stayed on Peter’s shoulders and Bucky tensed.

“The kid is suffering sweetie. You don’t want him to die, do you? Come here, and we’ll treat him. Get those cuts bandaged and some pain killers in his body. Sounds good?” Steve asked.

You looked at Peter and squeezed his shoulder. He groaned and your heart gave away. You nodded to Steve, and Bucky came forward again, his hand held out. You took it slowly and Bucky drew you closer to himself, taking you away from Peter. Your eyes followed Steve who was across the room now with a medical bag in hand, antiseptic wipes and butterfly strips spread before him.

“Please don’t hurt him, he’s my best friend.” You said softly and Bucky’s hand wrapped around your waist. You stiffened as he moved in your space and sniffed at your neck.

“We won’t hurt him anymore cupcake,” Bucky assured you. “But we gotta get his smell off you. The longer it stays on you, the more I wanna kill him.”

You peered into Bucky’s face, acutely aware of Steve tending to Peter’s wounds from the corner of your eyes.

“What’s happening here? I don’t understand why you’re doing whatever you’re doing. You’re supposed to be the good guys” You said and heard Steve chuckling.

“We are the good guys, but we get mad when teenage guys who can’t even grow a beard start touching what doesn’t belong to them. He put his hands on you, on what’s ours. We couldn’t let that go, not when he refused to stop seeing you.”

Your nose scrunched in confusion and fear. You were not stupid enough to try and fight them. You were an analyst because you could judge a situation and how dangerous it is. Right now, your odds of getting away with Peter were next to none, especially with him in such a delicate condition. However, you still didn’t understand what they meant.

“I don’t belong to you. You can’t claim me” You countered; your eyes now trained on Peter who flinched with every swipe of medicine.

“Can’t we?” Bucky whispered right in your ears making you shiver at the close proximity. You placed a hand on his chest and pushed, but he barely even moved.

“Of course, you can’t. I am not an omega. You…you both are alphas. You can’t claim a beta.”

Bucky and Steve looked at each other knowingly and shared a small, secret laugh. Bucky had maneuvered himself behind you now, both arms holding yours and securing them in front of you. His chin rested on your head, the slight stubble grazing your neck.

“You’re not an omega yet.” Bucky told you and hugged you to himself and your breath sharpened.

Steve finished patching Peter up and you were thankful he had been honest and gentle. He offered him some water from a glass and Peter gulped it greedily, also swallowing the pills Steve offered. His eyes were now open, and he looked at you across the room in Bucky’s arms with sadness in his eyes.

“I am so sorry Y/n, I should have done better to protect you.” He apologized and your eyes filled with tears. You wanted to run across in his arms, sooth his fears like you’d done so many times before.

“She’s not yours to protect kid, I thought we made it clear.” Steve grunted in displeasure and Peter scowled at him. Even tied up and at their mercy with wounds still dripping slowly, he managed to convey anger and hatred in his glance. Not an ounce of fear in his eyes and you knew if he were free, he’d be standing before you, being your shield.

“Mr. Stark was right when he said you are dangerous. When you believe something is right you never consider the consequences or the lives you’ll harm. You are no hero Captain, and I am sorry I ever considered you one.” Peter spat and you almost smiled.

Steve looked at Peter with a smirk on his face and then walked towards you and Bucky. He stopped right in front of you, looking Peter dead in his eyes before dipping down and capturing your lips in a searing kiss. You struggled in Bucky’s arm, whining under Steve’s lips that didn’t let up until you were almost out of oxygen. He pulled back and you gasped, eyes stinging due to his assault.

“Doesn’t matter what you feel kid, ‘cause we got our girl in our arms while you’re tied up helpless.” Steve taunted.

“Please, I don’t know what you want. You can’t have me. I am a beta.” You sobbed.

Steve cupped your face and rubbed his nose to yours, cooing at you. Bucky was still holding you to himself and you could feel his hardness against your back.

“Baby, we know you are not an omega. At least not yet. But you are ours, and we have a solution. Don’t we Buck?” Steve said and you felt Bucky nod. Your eyes desperately locked on Peter’s, both of you feeling helpless.

Bucky handed you into Steve’s embrace and pulled out of his pocket a small metal case. Flipping it open he drew out a syringe filled to brim with some blue drug. Your gut clenched in fear as you looked at it, already knowing you didn’t’ want this thing anywhere near you.

“Don’t look so scared cupcake, it’s very safe. Hydra used to use it all the time, but we still had Bruce check this out and he says its safe.” Bucky said to you and you shifted in Steve’s arms.

“Dr Banner is involved with you?” You choked out. You always liked him, and this betrayal of trust cut even deeper.

“Oh, he doesn’t know this is for you. He’s a mad scientist who would research anything in the name of science. Don’t really care much about the consequences, do they?” Bucky mused. “You don’t need to worry much; it won’t hurt for long. One dose and your dynamic will start shifting. You’ll be an omega soon enough.”

Both Peter and you started at the news and your struggles renewed.

“Please don’t do this to me. Why are you doing this? You could have literally any omega out there who will be proud to have you as her alphas.” You cried and Steve shushed you like a mother does to her baby, his hand caressing your head gently.

“We don’t want them, we want you. You are strong and beautiful and a perfect fit for us. You’ll be a great mate and mother to our pups.” Steve said.

Your eyes blurred with tears, body feeling exhausted from your useless struggles. Peter was shuffling around in the chair to no avail. You felt corner and trapped, and you felt useless as an analyst. No part of your training could prepare you for a forced transformation at the hands of the strongest alphas on the planet who wanted to mate you.

“You don’t have to do this. There is a reason nature made me a beta. You can’t do this to me.” You sobbed in Steve’s chest and your tears seeped into his shirt.

“Cupcake, nature makes mistakes. Steve and I were supposed to die seventy years ago, yet look at us now, still alive. You are meant to be ours, our girl, our mate. And we’ll correct nature’s mistakes.”

You shouted as Bucky injected the syringe into your squirming body without warning, your screams of pain mixing with Peter’s protests. Liquid fire raced through your veins and you writhed, losing all control and senses. All you felt was heat and pain, starting from your toes to your head. You could hear your heart threatening to burst out of your chest, your throat raw from your screams. It was never ending, the inferno that was running across your body, changing your biology in its wake. Your every cell seemed to light up and turn itself inside out, your skin crawling. You scratched at yourself and your hands were held down along with your legs, eyes wide open and yet not seeing anything.

You didn’t know if it lasted minutes or days, the pain setting in your bones. Your surrounding was the same and yet the world had changed. You were shivering uncontrollably, sobbing incessantly, and crying out gibberish. Your eyes slowly focused as pain started dissipating bit by bit, your heart thumping irregularly and fast. You were on the floor of your living room, body held immobile with someone’s weight. You whined and they stirred, getting off you and suddenly you were sitting, a glass of water thrust in your face. You gulped it down, the cool liquid doing little to sooth the burn that still simmered deep inside you.

As you breathed, you suddenly gagged and heard someone moving around you. You were choking on air, the scents in the room smothering you. Your new formed omega senses picked up the spicy tangs of alphas and it made you dizzy. Someone was calling your name, yet it was all you could do to keep breathing and not faint again.

“Open the goddamn windows! She’s overwhelmed!” Someone shouted and soon fresh air breezed inside, easing your discomfort a bit. You held your chest, curling in on yourself and breathed deeply.

“Use your mouth to breath sweetie”

You did as commanded and eventually your breathing got easier. You sat with your head between your folded knees for a long time, trying to remember what happened. After what felt like forever, you gazed up and around you, coming face to face with three worried alphas.

“Y/n?” The young alpha tied to the chair called. You looked at him. You knew him, and the others too. Steadily your memories came back, and your eyes filled with tears, and you form shook as heart wrenching sobs wracked your body. Bucky crawled to you and very slowly reached out, his arm curling around your shoulder. You wanted to push him off, curse him away but your body instinctively leaned into him, seeking his warmth and protection.

“Shh cupcake, I got you. I got you baby” He whispered and kissed your hair.

Another pair of arms wrapped around you; a head tucked into your neck. Steve rubbed soothing circled in your sides, his breath washing over you. You were cocooned in their warmth and drenched in their scent, the nature of your biology bending to their wills and calming your racing heart. Soon enough your sobs turn to little sniffles and Bucky wiped your nose with the hem of his t-shirt.

“That’s it, omega, you’re doing so good. Just breath. We’re right here.” Steve said in your ear and you quivered at the timber of his voice.

You gradually raised your head up and the two alphas shifted a little to allow you space. Your eyes darted around your house as if seeing it for the first time, unintentionally falling on things you would need for your nest.
