* BANG! *
[name] flinched just a bit more than she should have, almost dropping the pencil in her hand. The loud noise seemed to have come from outside, but not very far from the house. It resembled a...scream. She swung her legs over the edge of the bed and crept over to her window.
She opened the blinds slightly, peeking outside. Her eyes widened. She suppressed a scream by biting down on her tongue, hard. Blood pooled into her mouth, the taste intruding every crevice. The girl stumbled backwards from the window, pupils the size of slits.
When her eyes trailed down to the lock, the realization that it was indeed unlocked was racked through her body. She had wasted only a second before standing, rushing to the window and locking it tightly. As she took steps backwards, the house had fallen deathly silent. Even the slight breeze outside was heard.
It was a taunt. From Satan himself or some other entity that got bored, she had no idea.
Yet, as footsteps were suddenly ripping through the faux comforting atmosphere, [name] couldn't help but think maybe this was punishment from the gods instead.
The footsteps seemed to have stopped right outside her room, making the girl, as quietly as she could, dive behind her dresser. She wished she had chosen a better place. The dresser was right beside the window, and she really wanted to forget the image of what was behind the blinds-
* CREAK *
The door opened, footsteps now drowning the room in its somewhat muted noise. [name] placed a hand over her mouth in an attempt to quiet her heavy breathing.
And it seemed like a million years of silence before a sudden noise shattered it. Her phone was ringing.
She fumbled to put her phone on silent, but it was too late.
"Pick up the phone, [name]."
A drawled out voice filled with depth and rasp spoke right next to the girl's earlobe, but there was no person there. Her fingers had moved by themselves, as if controlled by some invisible force.
She answered the call.
"......Hello?" She whispered as quietly as possible, but hopefully loud enough for the other end to hear. Some other part of her hoped they hadn't, and this was all some nightmarish hallucination.
"Hello there, darling." The pet name was saccharine from their tongue, rolling off a bit too comfortably for [name]'s liking. She brushed it off, determinedly looking out the window for any sign of motion. It seemed that all noise in the room itself had ceased as well, the person from before either waiting to strike to kill or simply gone.
"...Where the fuck are you?" She had hesitated just a bit but there was hardly a lap in time. A low chuckle sounded from the other end of the line. The voice was so uncomfortably familiar, but there was no way that it could be who she was thinking. They…They weren’t the type to play a prank like this.
“Alright, let’s play a game dollface,” The voice spoke, drawling it out in a way that sent so many cold spots up and down [name]’s body. “If you can guess whether I’m in your room, or at your window, we’ll leave you alone.”
[name] felt her breath slow, pinpricking needles that jabbed at her skin suddenly stopping. She needed to think this thoroughly through. With an exhale, she tried not to whimper. This was so fucking stressing, what was the point in it? Why was this happening right now? She shook those thoughts away. No. She needed to answer, for her own survival. The gods knew how it would turn out.
If she couldn’t hear the voice from inside the house…Then it was probably at the window..? But no…That’s what they would want her to think….right? Fuck, okay.
“You’re-....You’re in my room…?”
Please.
A hum from the other end.
“Classic overthink babe. We thought you’d be smarter than that.”
The window opened instantaneously, someone easily jumping the sill. The face was familiar, too much. [name] yelped at both the loud noise, but swiftly cut herself off at the sight. Oh fuck no. Donnie.
She stood up in a split second, trying to bolt for her room’s exit- But it was quickly slammed shut, three new presences making themselves known in the room. Leo, Mikey, Raph.
“What are you guys- Why are you-” Her breath was heavy, pupils the size of slits as she took steps back instinctually, but ended only up against the purple-clad turtle’s plastron. His hand moved to her lips, shushing them in one fell notion. The other turtles moved closer, shit-eating smirks the only sight.
Leo, in all his flamboyance, had easily invaded her bubble, hand wrapping around her waist in a possessive gesture. Mikey snuggled under her arm, and [name] was much too in shock and fear to fully process what was going on. Raph rested his chin on her shoulder, looking up at her with innocuous eyes that were so perfectly in contrast to the cold and wry grin on his face.
“Shh, sweetheart. Don’t worry about anything…This is just so you’ll never have to hate us again…” Leo spoke in a low purr, clearly enjoying the moment.
“We were meant to be one…I don’t know why you didn’t see it before hun!” Mikey sounded wounded, hurt.
“You can’t just leave us out to bleed…And we’re done with you not liking us. Just accept it at this point, rose.” Raph’s passive aggressiveness was evident in the way his voice hardened at small intervals at certain words.
“You’re all ours…Never, ever hate us again.”
