The makeup crew was floating around you, pampering, and pampering, and pampering. You weren’t confident that there was even the slightest chance for your skin to survive this. It wasn’t unusual – photo shoots required just as much preparation as premiere events, the close-ups being rather demanding. Still, the more powdered your face became, the heavier you sighed, imagining the skincare routine you’d need to complete afterwards.

The best you could get from your make-up artists was help with removing the layers of whatever they used so generously on your face. The rest was up to you, and, fortunately, you care enough to go through with all of the gazillion steps of the process. Cleansing your pores, soothing your skin with toners and masks, applying serums and essences, using revitalizing creams… This took you forever, and any time you decided to skip a few steps, you ended up with acne, awfully dry or blotchy skin, or even more horrendous allergic reactions.

Tonight was going to be pretty long with all of the efforts that went into your behind-the-scenes glow-up.

‘Erase that frown, your makeup will get wrinkles, honey.’

Your frown only deepened as you heard his voice.

The women carrying the inquisition tools for your poor face almost squealed as he stepped closer. Baekhyun and his stupid charms. Even the makeup artists (in their late thirties to mid forties) were on the verge of fainting out of earthly existence whenever he walked by. You could swear he gave them a semi-interested onceover and a slight smile as soon as he stepped closer.

The day in question was indeed long. This photoshoot began in the morning, and you kept changing outfits and settings. Today's concept was ‘honeymoon’, so you and your partner – the biggest male solo act in your company – did your best to portray a young couple having the time of their lives. You gave her a pointed look before someone seized your face and tilted your head backwards to examine it closely.

‘Looks matte enough to me. Let’s clear the room.’ Baekhyun murmured before repeating louder for the rest of the team.

‘How cute,’ Kai chuckled in your ear while the photographer busied himself with the equipment.

Sighing, you avoided his teasing gaze.

Kai was also a friend. And one of the very few people who knew that you had something going on with Baekhyun. Prior to this shoot, you had asked him to be discreet about it, especially since the whole topic of your relationship with the blond was sensitive. You didn’t want him (or the staff!) to get the wrong idea. So, your sunbae’s occasional ‘meaningful’ looks seriously made you tick.

‘Alright, let’s begin.’ Baekhyun finally closed the door and turned around, eyeing you with precision. ‘Stand in front of the bed, so that she could look up at you. A bit to the left.’

‘Lie down,’ the photographer commanded, voice laced with gruffness. ‘Kai, stay up on your elbow.’

The whole thing was more uncomfortable than sexy, if anyone asked you. Posing or acting that way wasn’t at all intimate. For all of the people present it was simply their job, and you were enormously thankful that there were only the three of you. Having more spectators would’ve made this so much direr.

‘Is he… still here?’ The blond asked out loud.

‘Of course! I couldn’t chill out forever without attracting suspicion. And did you really expect me to not come back to eavesdrop? I’m going back, but Y/N’s manager might be coming up any moment now.’ The voice became more distant by the end of the sentence.

Lol. It's not really a story I'm making. You can't read it anywhere yet. Who knows, I don't know if I'll make a fic based on this concept or not... but never say never.

It's just more of an RP scenario I'm playing with my friends. So there's no real story outside of just imagining Pining and smooching. There's no concrete Au but one might develop later.

I just give it the title of "AU" cause I don't want people coming in my inbox like "but are they cousins????" Cause, lol to me they're not, and I've talked about the loosely defined relationships of the robots before many a time.

To clarify, when I ship Solar and Moon I did before the 'cousin' relationship was clearly defined, and I don't see them as cousins. Okay? Okay???? We cool? We Cool.

But basically,

Solar has developed feelings for Moon. He probably has when back he first met him, and they've just been growing more since his memories have wiped and Moon has become chiller, and kinder.

Not many people would rebuild an entire daycare in a Day.... how much can he pay back for this Moon. He gave him a place to stay, and saved him from his own Moon. (me and my friends call Solar Dimension's Moon "Asshole Moon" for simplicity's sake)

Solar was willing to sacrifice his life for everything. To Stop Eclipse once and for all. The Eclipse that hurt Lunar.... but he did this.... Not just for Lunar, but for this Moon in another dimension he doesn't even know and his whole family.

Solar hates his Moon. He even admits to hating Moons, and the worst sides of Moon, like Bloodmoon for example, remind him of his Moon, and he even calls Moon out when he's acting like Asshole Moon. .........Solar's attempted Sacrifice to let Moon kill Eclipse is a pretty big deal.

And Moon refused to let that happen. Even if it was of no consequence to him. Moon tries to justify it in that, he just can't see another person get hurt... But think.

Think for a few seconds, and think about how I thought of it at the time, and still do.

Reframe that.

He couldn't see SOLAR get hurt.

Couldn't see Solar sacrifice himself for him. He pushed him into that dimension as the only way to save him. Solar was justifiably mad, and even angrier when Moon told him after the fact Lunar might possibly be alive. He understands why Moon did it...

And a few weeks later, once he realizes all hope for his dimension, and having the love and warmth and family he gets from Lunar and Moon will be something he will never have here... and Sun will never be the same again...

He left.

Showed up at Moon's dimension like a sobbing wet cat, like "I have nowhere else to go"

Solar is also one of the firsts to Accept NewMoon as he is as a new person, he listens to Moon complain about Sun missing his old brother, and gives him perspective.

As far as the AU goes.... Solar is pining hard... and he doesn't want to break the friendship he has with this Moon. It's something special to him.... And he knows Moon, well, Old Moon was aroace and he doesn't know if that still applies. He doesn't want to test his boundaries. He would hate to see Moon mad or worse, reject him.

He is content (he's not) for now, building Moon things, making him things, building for him and caring about him. As long as he can stay here.

It's only others taking notice of his pining heartbreak, which he keeps under wraps until it becomes way more noticeable... that others give him a push. Because Solar was ready to take this to the grave with no one ever possibly knowing.

Moon also realizes he likes spending time with Solar, and he likes his snarky sense of humor, and is more surprised about the feelings, but is willing to test the waters on this, if it just means spending more time with him..

As far as how Sun reacts to Solar and Moon's budding relationship..... Eclipse has been his willing sex slave locked in his room secretely for a month at that point so he hadn't noticed.

As far as when this all takes place?

I'm guessing somewhere around the time Eclipse 'died'

But in this au, he survived broken and destroyed and crawled out of the portal like a banshee out of rage and spite and was ready to murder every single celestial animatronic he saw, but had no star power and was too weak to do anything.

Sun just kept him in his room because he didn't know what to do with him, was hesitant to tell Moon the plan didn't work, because now Sun was seeing how pathetic Eclipse actually is, and he doesn't think he wants to kill another person again. So broken Eclipse just kinda stays in Sun's room for a good while.... until Sun slowly starts to repair him (with limited functionality due to lack of resources, he doesn't trust him, and isn't as skilled as Moon, especially without access to parts and service.)

Cue the banter of hateful teasing transformed into flirting and... there you go.

Eclipse won't talk about the past with Sun. He won't. That will take years for him to explain this whole deal. So it's more of a mutually beneficial relationship for them....as they say

Now I just can't help but imagine in the apocalypse au...y/n realizes that cookies who spend time around them end up 'infected' so they think they are the origin of the 'curse' (because I can imagine y/n would think this is some sorta curse since the cookies aren't physically sick or undead or anything like a normal apocalypse story) so they try to isolate themselves after telling all the cookies about their theory and then proceeds to barricade themselves in their home!

(And imagine if y/n also told the 'infected' cookies about the isolating and how they hope that if they stay away from the cookies long enough, it would 'lift the curse'...if the 'infected' cookies could still think, I bet it would make them feel bad and basically pound on the door of y/n'a home like 'WAIT! YOU AREN'T CURSED! WE LOVE YOU! DON'T BLAME YOURSELF! DON'T THINK OF YOURSELF AS A MONSTER OR AN EVIL OMEN! COME OUT HERE AND LET US LOVE YOU AND MAKE YOU HAPPY!')

MC Concepts?

ok, so even before the Au I had in mind, I had a couple of ideas upon what would MC would be like or based upon the character and even had some weird plot idea a few years back.

So let's begin upon the first idea concept, the first idea upon how I would imagine Mc in the AU (or even in the main thing) would be of a familiar someone that would kinda makes sense in context, a Disney character rather so underrated that he's rarely seen in Disney.

That is being, this guy...

Basically from what I know at least I haven't seen anyone making a MC or a Oc version of him since there were rather easy clues in Twisted Wonderland that had some deja vu in Epic Mickey (blots, Mickey from the other side of the mirror, rarely has much interractions, and some more evidence that I'll add later) and I would want to have Oswald to have some light and popularity again, even if it's just a minor thing since I had found out he was cancelled out of the content for a kingdom hearts game.

And I would also think it would particularly work since of this rather particularly scenes in Epic Mickey comparison to Twisted Wonderland.

Notice how in Twisted Wonderland, Mickey looks like from the old cartoon of his and not his iconic one.

The image you seen in Twisted Wonderland is not only a reference to a Mickey Short "Thru the Mirror", but also the beginning scene to the Epic Mickey game. And with some evidence I had mentioned, it would mainly make sense there would be referencing to the actual game, but few things particularly had me questioned. What about Oswald? What ever happened to him?

So upon theory that MC can secretly Is a Twst Oswald (even if it's not canon sadly, at least in a headcannon) who needed to fix something that Mickey could not (or is trying to do but failing). Of Why Crowley would particularly needed MC to begin with despite with the possible pretending he's making of him trying to send them home and meeting them for the first time, believing it was another student. Or Rather in Chapter Seven..

Before we continue, I suggest that you may want to move past down or don't read this part cause it has some contain spoilers of part 2. Just know, SPOILERS AHEAD!

Are we good..? ..good!

Anyways, or like in Chapter Seven of where Malleus had said "You will all become the protagonist of this fairytale" after he overblotted and cast everyone, even Yuu/MC to sleep/kidnap them in thorns? Likely how Maleficint comes to Philip's prison cell to taunt him of how he's the valiant hero of a fairytale come true. And I would think upon the theory MC's dreams would be either similar to Oswald's or what would had it been like if Oswald was still with Disney/Mickey never exist, of what shorts and movies that Mickey made would become Oswald's instead.

And perhaps then, maybe, Mickey might have been the one to take Oswald's place. Of where everyone knows and loves Oswald and Mickey became a forgotten toon just like many others.

To have the dream that Oswald never had achieved because of what happened between Universal and Disney years ago that he cannot easily control. That he was once happy before he was then ripped away from Disney's arms. Just like in this video.

(Thinking about it, it's almost a similar backstory to Lotso's from Toy Story 3 but didn't turn evil)

Actually speaking of which, from what I also remember Oswald was supposed to be in the antagonist in the original Epic Mickey game thanks to some concept art of it. Which they had a plan but decided to scrap most of the main idea of him being the villain but would still act a bit mean and jealous over Mickey since he was replaced by him and both Mickey and Oswald technically didn't know each other at the beginning until both warmed up for each other. Despite his flaws, he's still a good person that is helping around the forgotten toons to have a place they feel belonged and is rather devastated after loosing Ortensia to The Blot after sending it away.

Which there is a potential chance that this would be a Overblot version of MC/Yuu if pushed comes to shove.

But thinking throughout upon Twisted Wonderland, Yuu/MC becomes cleared and clever throughout the other chapters of how to attempt to stop the "villian" and save the day though luck and planning. Not to mention in part 1 of chapter seven, Yuu/MC immediately recognized who Maleficint was and headed to the plaza where her statue was where Yuu/MC would be both conflicted upon their dream but also finding clues how to try and prevent another overblot. of course Yuu/MC would have some antagonistics upon them of where they had been stressed and almost died mutiple times (or more likely wanting to kill their/her/his friends after many stupid shenanigans they dragged them in or Crowley gaslights them so he wouldn't be the one in trouble. This is why we prefer Mr. Crewel as a father figure, Crowley.)

Ok..hopefully with Concept idea #1 out of the way, here's Concept idea #2.

So for the other concept of mine is Mc/Yuu being another Disney Character but this time in a obviously well known movie you all probably would know or already watched Encanto. That MC/Yuu being a Twst Mirabel.

Hopefully this will be a lot shorter but I'll try my best to clear some things out. To not be confused, the concept idea is Yuu/MC being twst Mirabel, not Yuu/MC being a part of the Madrigals or Mirabel in Twisted Wonderland thought I like the concept upon those ideas since they were creative.

So upon context that I would believe that Mirabel wanted to belong in the Family Madrigal despite her having no gift and how some of her family members (Mainly Alma and Isabela) sees her as a sort of outcast of the family like her uncle, Bruno, who's painted as the villain but is actually a nice guy. When she suddenly sees the cracks from the house, she's trying to find answers of what is happening and how to save the Miracle. Going onto a adventure and talking to the other family members in hope of any information, luckily thanks to Luisa, she finds out that there was a vision that Bruno left behind that of her having two possible outcomes, either her destroying or saving Casita. That the reason why Bruno left because he wanted to protect her from making Mirabel having more of a worse outcome than it already is with her. Soon Mirabel and Bruno found a way to help the candle by hugging her sister, Isabela which at first doesn't want to and thinks it's pointless to try but needed to given a chance. Also promising that she will help Bruno come back home. Of course Isabela and Mirabel talk it out, shared a moment, hugged and shown how Isabela was forced to become perfect in the daily based until she realized she didn't needed to be perfect, she needed to be herself.

Every seemed fine until Alma came and blames on Mirabel for Bruno leaving, Isabela out of control, the cracks from the house, Luisa losing magic, having no gift when she was litterally five years old person and basically saying that Mirabel is the one who is hurting this family, concidering that she wasn't apart of this family to begin with. Mirabel rightfully lashes out of how neither of the family wouldn't be good enough to Alma's standards and how Alma is the reason why the magic was dying to begin with because of her fear and standards pushed to far upon the family that without their gifts, they are nothing because she expected perfection of everyone and leaving Mirabel out of it as if she's never considered as family. Soon the Cracks got worse, house got destroyed and Mirabel runs off where the others are looking for her. And Alma confronts Mirabel who's apologizing but Alma sits by her, admitting her faults and her actual story, knowing now that it is her fault and Mirabel becomes to understand and forgives her, they hug out and returned home with Bruno to fix the house and having the family repairing, the magic returns with everyone in the family included. (Minor Critique that I would think Mirabel wouldn't completely forgive Alma, but would need a bit of time to forgive her but still does understand like in the deleted scene without the mom dying but I would think in time she and Bruno would eventually forgive Alma. But i think the reason they forgive her immediately or didn't question about it because it's Disney and wanted everyone to have a happy ending and it was almost over.)

While Yuu/MC is isekaied into another world filled with magic, who is magicless and must solve and stop the incidents and overblots that are happening to NRC. Having to involve/dragged themself/herself/himself into this scenarios of life and death from the overblots, some bullying that had been into or had gotten into with either the dormleaders or dorm students, Crowley gaslighting, neglect and blackmail, and which would eventually lead them into PTSD after the shit they had been through and eventually needed a therapist of their own, but does and can relate through the people that Yuu/MC are close to and to learn upon their mistakes to make up what they have done while trying to find a way back home.

of course some of it's similarities between Yuu/MC and Mirabel that both are magicless, needing some therapy and is helping people getting through their problems and their mistakes to become a better person. And I would especially think we would need to get Yuu/MC's Backstory since the Manga's MCs/Yuus are different each time (most likely) and I would think Yuu/MC having a very similar scenerio with Mirabel would probably be a compelling way of a backstory since both with Mirabel and Oswald are overlooked and wanted to be belonged, showing them that they got what it takes to be a somebody to them.

Though of course both of them are vastly different but I would think either of them might work for at least my version (Either Aus or headcannon) of Yuu/MC, regardless of what gender or race they are.

And now, hopefully for the most rather weird plot/backstory idea of what I would think could be interesting but not exactly sure due to how unsure how it's going to work since it would work for another Au where Twisted Wonderland is in a more Fantasy Era.

So to Kinda keep it short as possible, Yuu/MC is cursed by a unfamiliar source that endangers both their/her/his home and Twisted Wonderland where they are "the outcast" upon their family and noticed something was going on due to a black marking on their hand, like a cut that's dripping down a drop of black ink mixed with blood, having the cracks seen as a sign of danger. They talked to their/her/his family to see what's going on, realizing some of them knew about something that they won't tell Yuu/MC.

Eventually some disaster insurance after finding a mysterious spell book, glowing green-glass shards and paintbrush and eventually Yuu/MC in a angered state decided if their/her/his family won't tell them/her/him about the mysterious curse, they'll have to find out themself.

As they were just about to leave their home, they spotted something from the distance that calls to them to follow. They do, leading upto where they see the very thing falling into a rabbit hole that looks like a very deep well. They fell into the well's water before a few spects of magic began surrounding them as they became a shooting star before suddenly falling down to Twisted Wonderland, or at least the gateway towards it.

They are tested to pass through the gate and succeeded, Confronting either some of the RSA or NRC students in the Fantasy AU where they believe Yuu/ MC is the powerful magician that was gifted upon one of the most powerful artifacts that along with it's guardian was lost centuries ago along with the one whom had possessed the very two rare artifacts.

The mysterious spellbook is not only a book full of almost every spell but actually a storybook of all Disney Characters posing a sort of prophecies coming to life into an alternate retelling that can change fate, ending, and how they became to be, that being called The Book of Legacies, and with the Paintbrush of Imaginations, it can create living beings, pathways to worlds, even items that seemed to be lost.

The second being a candle that granted a miracle that can provide or in case help the adventurer upon what they would need to set things right and save the day. And to prove whom is worthy and whom is not, or more likely who can be redeemed and who cannot.

There will be more Lore with the Book and the Candle upon the Pomfiore Arc, which it would possibility merged with the Glorious Mascarade event.

However when the students and Yuu/MC opens the Book to Ambrose the Wizard, (Since he's possibly Merlin from the Sword and the Stone). Where they shown of a story of how their/his/her ancestor who was a student of the eldest sorceror (Yen-Sid) who lives upon the farthest star, the second star to the right, whom locks away a powerful god that was cursed away, never dared to be freed for he's the eternal ruler of evil that brings death and destruction to all, (That being Chernobog from Fantasia)

However Yuu/MC told them that they're/She's/He's not their ancestor and ended up there by accident because they follow something glowing from the distance and showed the marking that they had on their hand. Of course most of them were surprised, afraid and shocked of the very marking.

For it was a marking of a dark prophecy, a curse that would come to Twisted Wonderland and release Chernobog with the Seven Crystals of Darkness alongside "the Great Seven" returning back from the dead and would receive their "gracious gift" to whomever is the one who's with/brings the Cursed Chosen to it's destination and release him from his eternal cage upon the highest mountain. And in order for them find out how to break the cursed is to find their family member that too was in Twisted Wonderland years ago but had been captured into a far kingdom where no one could have or dare to find them because they were the only one who knows how to break it.

And it is up to Yuu/MC to find clues of where their/his/her family member is and rescue them and hopefully save everyone.

As for the Non-Disney School Au, I would think Yuu is particularly a mix of being Non/Disney that is stuck in a world of magic. They would be tricked into staying their for a while because they thought the headmistress would understand and be the one to promise their way back home. Or at least that's the jift of things.

But like I said these are just some concepts of my version of MC/Yuu and probably can eventually figure out the full version of it. But I did not expected to be this long than I wanted to be. So I'm very sorry if it's already too confusing as much but hopefully, hopefully we might have a more clear viewing upon the Au. Of course I'm still looking up a few Non Disney movies to intell and I know I'll add DreamWorks in it, but if you want to tell me any other non disney villians that I can see added in (besides DreamWorks since it's more likely going to be added in). Let me know, but remember it has to be a animated film that isn't Disney so sadly no live-action ones. Until then, hope you guys have a very lucky day! I am so out-of-touch with my fanfic days, but I did get myself cross-eyed looking at this master-list of Soulmate AUs, and gave it a go:

(Soulmate AU premise, for people who are as clueless as I am: two people who are soulmates get 'hints' about who their soulmate is through various supernatural/unexplainable means) Hope I explained that well(?)

Soulmate concept: There's a number on their arm that counts down the distance to their soulmate.

Reaction: G has always dissed the idea of soulmates, saying that they don't believe in it, how ridiculous it is that in a world of 7 billion people, there's only 1 other person out there who's supposedly 'special' yada yada. So they've paid the counter no mind through the years, though they are slightly curious when the number (usually something ridiculously high, like 7,685km) dips significantly (to something like 700km) when they visit their mom when she moves to Quebec City. But then, when they meet MC, and the counter drops all the way down to 0, they're like. What the fuck? And proceed to spend the next few months denying that it's true, although it always, invariably, goes to 0 whenever MC is around, and G is, ultimately, a person of Science and has to admit there is something fishy going on with that.

Rayyan:

Soulmates concept: They feel hotter when their soulmate's close.

Reaction: Like G, they've always scoffed at the idea, but unlike G, they've entered every relationship they've been in secretly testing if they do feel hotter with their partner around (even keep a thermometer by their bedside for "experiment"'s sake). But mostly tennis is their thing, and this whole soulmates business is something they indulge in more for curiosity's sake. When MC appears, Rayyan doesn't notice, and chalks how hot they feel to competitive spirit (and physical exertion) most of the time, until it just becomes... undeniable. Once Rayyan has figured this out, they refuse to go on away matches to any colder states without MC there. "I hate being cold!!" is their excuse.

Tobin:

Soulmates concept: Whenever their soulmate loses something/leaves something behind, it shows up in their possession the next day.

Reaction: Tobin is a romantic at heart, and ever since they've been a kid, they've collected every last piece of junk from their soulmate, putting it in a special corner in their bedroom, with a little scribbled note next to it with their analysis of the "clue", i.e. creating a little imagined constellation/patchwork of their soulmate based on these lost items. When they finally meet MC, they everything starts clicking into place, and as though they're in a giant game of cluedo, they finally confirm that MC is, indeed, their soulmate, and—for every year of Christmas after that, they gift MC one item from their collection along with the little note, and they compare notes about Tobin's imagined story, and what had actually happened to MC's item.

Sam:

Soulmates concept: Every night you receive a message about a random sentence your soulmate has said that day.

Reaction: Because of this very obvious hint, and the fact that Sam and MC spend so much time together every day, Sam has essentially figured out very early on that MC is their soulmate. In high school, Sam's more often than not, actually present when MC says the 'random sentence', so the messages are cute reminders more than anything—and on the rare occasion that Sam was not present, they immediately text MC in response. But after MC moves away to Cargill for college, these messages always send a fond smile to Sam's face, while also carrying a small pang of... longing, as Sam wonders what it was that MC had been doing/talking to.

So a morro he definitely took the biggest hit because of my sickness so I'll have to elaborate with drawings as time goes on.

The concept of reworking morro is a bit harder than I hoped, because my reworks do effect how the story is written and all my ideas are too ambitious for the fact I'm in midterms. So I reworked morro's fate, if you want a more of "rework so deep that it rewrites s5" then I'll do it in summer break, so yeah stay toon.

(Also yes this is a lmk inspired style, I shouldn't draw sick omg lol)

-how is he back?

Tbh I am not sure tho I know i want him to be brought around dotd but the how is hard to pin point, I like to think of an idea close to "something went wrong as morro was retuning " which caused him to for a lack of a better term to glitch and turn human. He's not fully human ticnicly, morro is in a real reborn human body yes but his glitch caused him to keep some of the goust-nes. The goust remnant show in his goust eye, to show that the new human body and his undead soul are at unity.

-How is he? Where will he go?

He obviously would be confused and scared, I don't believe he would be in the monastery for a long while. I feel he would be in what I call "his tree house" where he trys to clear his mind. He's not isolated just needs time to prosses his emotions. I don't think more will be an official ninja member but more of an ally like dareth.

I like to imagine the gang to call morro because he has mad connections and dirt on people, and morro uses this to be the lovely smug grimlin that he is.

-How does the goust eye works?

Morro can swap between the human form and the goust form, the goust form has the ablity of gousts. Invisibleity, phasing and possesing. He isn't weak to water though, kinda. If morro gets hit with water in his goust form he'll be forced into his human for and can't go goust for about 12 hours.

Morro can go goust as he pleases but it dose tire him out.

-Dose he still have wind?

Yes he still does, still the same

- Design:

I do wana adjust it but let's talk about my ideas. I gave morro a gi that doesn't really match the ninjas or the sensei-s but still feel similar in a way, again like dearth. I plopped up mo's emblem on his gi and I tried to make it look more goat-dragon to separate him from ninjago Western dragon aesthetic but to make his emblem feel more personal. (I love the emblems can you tell?)

This is au category technicaly but I think it's a really fun idea to write, morro is such a great character i miss him and I'll never forget his biggest contribution to the fandom

What would Danny do for work?

I have a quick question to my fellow Danny Phantom fans... When you imagine Danny picking a career/job, what do you headcanon for him? And this is if he can't- for whatever reason- be an astronaut. This is a hypothetical question, it's not- like, going to affect any of my stories in the future or anything *chuckles nervously*

For me, it's always depended on the headcanon I choose for any particular story/AU. But that gets complicated when I have multiple headcanons that could offer opportunities for him.

For example:

Astrophysicist/Aerospace Engineer - He can't be an astronaut, but that doesn't mean he can't still do some kind of work that involves his love for space.

Engineer - In a similar vein, he could be a regular engineer. Especially if he takes after his dad, Jack, more and maybe even creates his own prototypes and inventions.

In a subset to engineer, in my story weekend wonders, Danny is majoring in biomedical engineering. This is because in this AU, the accident gave him chronic pain, and that's how he gained an interest in this field. This could also work great if he gets attention from the Justice League in a DP x DC crossover, or the Avengers in a DP x Marvel crossover; Danny could just as easily work with heroes who have disabilities or chronic pain from many decades of work as heroes. It helps that he personal experience with the same struggles, after all.

Translator - If you headcanon that Danny can understand a lot of languages (or maybe even them all) due to ghost speak, then Danny could totally use this to his advantage with work. Plus!! This offers many different avenues that could be used to your advantage. Want Danny to be connected to the UN in some way before debuting as Ghost King? Have him be a translator that works there. Want Danny to be busy often with his royal responsibilities/ghost fighting? Have him be a translator; he can work remotely or stay self-employed/on contracts.

Teacher - Danny doesn't have great experience with educational staff, so I could imagine him going into this field of work due to nothing but spite. And! He could teach ectobiology, or just ghosts in general. He could do so many topics: Biology, government, history, hell he could do a whole semester on how physics work in the Ghost Zone.

Blacksmith/Ironsmith - Okay, this one is more self-indulgent, but imagine if Pandora teaches him how to fight with a sword and then he gets obsessed with the sword itself that he wants to make one that's perfectly suited for him and this just dominos into going full-blown into this field. (Trade skills are still important, and sadly, don't get as much attention even when they can usually offer fairly decent pay without the thousands of dollars worth in student debt.)

Writer/Author - If you wanted him to be more artistic, he could be a freelance author/novelist or something similar. I feel like being an author would be one of the better choices for him because, again, if you were writing a story where Danny would be busy with a lot of other responsibilities, then he could largely work on his own schedule. Plus! I can totally imagine him hanging out in Long Now with Clockwork when his head is just full of ideas for a story but he wouldn't have the time to write it otherwise. So he kind of uses Long Now to get that time, but he can promise it's for a good cause, stop laughing, Clockwork!

Actor - I really love the concept of Danny being an actor, just for the laughs if nothing else. While this could be a pain if Danny does actually get famous, since that's a lot of media he would probably prefer not to deal with, the concept alone offers a great deal of shenanigans. And... if he does get a good movie deal, he could very well be set for life afterwards. He could be one of those one-hit wonders in television or something.

So! The flowers in the story have some very specific meanings! I took them from this site.

The definitions do make it a little funny to imagine reader passive aggressively using flower language to convey their heartache and Lyney being like. WHO is leaving behind flowers that mean disappointment in my dressing room???

I'm not quite sure how I feel about this fic: I had a concept, but no real "plot" to go with it. I just knew I wanted to do something with Lyney, and juggled several ideas: fake dating (sneaking into a party together), reader being a fellow Fatuus (perhaps competing with him?) or reader being a thief (an old childhood friend who steals from him). In the end, I ended up with a childhood friend AU (no one is surprised!!!) The concept feels a little shaky, and I can only hope I put it together coherently enough OTL I don't feel dissatisfied with it, exactly, but I don't know if I dug as deeply as I wanted with Lyney's character. But he doesn't really seem like a good character for the type of hard-hitting angst I usually like, because he's such a little guy...

I listened to Lyney's character trailer and the Fontaine trailer on YT to take some notes on what they said about magic and performances, haha. Particularly, the line that "miracles are like magic tricks" stuck out to me. That made me want to do some parallels with Lyney and a reader who who doesn't believe in either. Lyney also says that "you can't trust what you see" in The Final Feast trailer, which again, I parallel with a reader who only believes in what they can see. I love contrasts...

I think that Lyney's confident persona is a facade. He seems to get stage fright more easily than Lynette, and flirts as a means of diversion. Perhaps it's a habit he picked up on the streets to get by, and it's also necessary for a good "performer" (and liar) to act confident. As such, I think it's cute to imagine that he was a lot more shy as a kid, especially when he has a crush on reader! ^^

Why doesn't Lyney contact reader after all these years...? I imagine that he feels too ashamed/too worried to! He's a Fatuus now, and that might put reader in danger... additionally, he didn't have much of an opportunity to contact them once he and Lynette were taken in by that one noble. Basically a lot happened to him + a lot of time passed + he doesn't want to put them in danger + he's ashamed about hurting them!! He won't approach them first if they don't want to talk to him... but reader is also reluctant to take that first step... maybe it'll be Lynette who gets tired of their behavior and forces them to make up, LOL

He eventually figures out that reader is in the audience of all his shows, and it does comfort him a lot!! ^_^

I based the magic trick that Lyney performs off of a show I used to watch as a kid with my grandfather (which was, funnily enough, about revealing the secrets behind magic tricks), and this particular one, titled the Devil's torture chamber. There might be an official name to this trick, but I can't remember it at the moment!

Loved your Steve child model au, esp because it focuses on Steve making his looks part of his personality. I wish the show would go into Steve's injuries more. We know he likes the way he looks and is a bit vain about it. If they never bring up the demobat scars again, what was the point? Because realistically he would struggle with it. Even prior to that his face should be littered with scars, his nose should look a bit wonky. I would love to see him coming to terms with his new look and how he will act because of it. Like you said I feel like Steve thinks beauty is all he has, he doesn't think he's smart enough, all his has is his looks and charms but if that gets taken away who really is he? I know the show won't ever acknowledge Steve's trauma, we would be lucky if the neck scar is visible in s5 but man. Sorry for this rant here

THANK YOU SO MUCH. i have literally been ruminating about this concept for ages, mentally begging someone to catch my brainwaves and write it. but unforch... it hasn't worked. had to get my little brain worm out in the form of word vomit, BUT I AM SO GLAD YOU GET THE VISION.

like he's constantly looking at the mirror pre-stranger things to make sure he's always looking perfect but after billy and starcourt, he can't help but look at the imperfections on his face. i don't think he's stop using mirror TOTALLY but i feel like at a certain point, he'd consider his BODY his appeal.

i think that him striking out in scoops would just validate his feelings about his looks, and make him feel even more like a Loser because could he even trust his fallback anymore? and just the crushing low self esteem because he thinks that all he has is being pretty, and when he loses that, then what is he?

and my theory is that when he does modeling on the side after his parents cut him off, photographers also point out his flaws and some of them end up trying to cover up his scars with make up or take focus away from his face. but he continues on because he Needs the Money. and at least he still has something attractive about him.

WHICH leading to family video, i think that steve would try to change his mannerisms to purposely bring attention to his figure and emphasize what he considers his best asset. only for his thoughts to be validated because he starts getting dates again.

in my heart, i imagine that during this time, he is connected with a photographer who is looking for a model for their art exhibition. and gushing over steve's "unique" look and his "bravery" for continuing to be a model. steve feeling super uncomfortable bc he's so used to trying to bring attention away from his face.

and maybe that photographer focuses on his scars, inspired to tell a story of sorts through their photos. and steve's eye twitching because he feels like a specimen under a microscope, and the focus on his "imperfections" just causes him to spiral a little bit rather than builds his confidence.

and the demobats just take away the last thing he's been able to hold onto. they take away the last thing that could possibly give him value.

and YEAH the show so rarely shows the consequences of trauma, especially when it comes to steve. and it's such a shame that the scars seem to disappear at the start of every season. if season 5 shows steve with ANY scars, i would be immensely surprised (though i think i might not watch season 5...)

ALSO sudden thought: steve harrington's brain trauma leading to migraines, and the bright lights during shoots trigger them. but he's so determined to see this through and prove his worth that he soldiers through. he's popping as much tylenol he can, but he's cold sweating bc the pounding in his head is so intense. and every time he leaves a shoot, he's out of commission for at least a day afterwards.

Okay so. I’ve been playing OB! And I just got to the part where they discover Mc is the descendant of Human Lilith

Now my question is, does this counts as (The Mc and 7 bros) if they are relatives? Like a long line of lost nephews? Is this a Zeus situation where all that logic goes out the window?

After that, I don’t see them as datable anymore.

I see them at the end of the story visiting Mc’s house and relatives in a family gathering or something. Like their son/daughter just went to Hell and came back with 7 more uncles, the parents since then just invites the guys over for celebrations and dinners!

I went with the idea of a datable sim, came out with found family. Fuck! I love it?

Boom! So I'm actually officially??? qualified to answer this question! I was raised Buddhist & was actually good enough at the whole theory/concept behind it that I got the batch prize for religion multiple times/years (weird thing to brag about but my list of things I can brag about is v small so lemme have this one damnit). And reincarnation is a big thing in Buddhism so *jazz hands* yknow

I'm gonna answer this in 2 parts & add a bonus part for a "what if" AU;

1. Is MC Actually Related to Lilith the Angel aka The Brothers' Sister Lilith?

The Answer: No.

• Lilith died after the war. It's very specifically said that Diavolo reincarnated her as a human.

• Reincarnation, simplified, means that after a sentient being dies their soul is born again in the body of a whole new sentient being.

• Reincarnation allows a soul to live again as a whole new person with 0 ties to their previous life (unless the soul is born again within the same family). They may retain a couple memories from their previous life for their first 3-4 years of life* but that fades away eventually. They may hold on to a few characteristics but lots of unrelated people have the same characteristics so it's not a Big Deal.

* not sure how much I believe in reincarnation because it seems fantastical & a lot of this could just be childrens' brains being weird, imaginative and half formed but here's a few fun anecdotes of kids I knew talking about their "past lives"

01. My brother at age 3? would constantly tell us he was just staying with us till his real mother came to pick him up.

02. My cousin, an only child, would constantly tell his mother his older sister wanted him to change the lightbulb

03. There's one about my school friend (who currently may or may not hate me)'s little sister that I can't say because I'm lowkey scared she's got a tumblr account and on the 0.01% chance she sees this I might actually die so :D

04. I, till 4, apparently had a whole series of things I'd say about London of all places (I also constantly told one of my aunts not to sit in certain places cos there were ghosts already sitting there so I had a weird imagination so this should be taken with a boatload of salt); 1. Used to point at a very specific building and insist there was a similar one in London. 2. Talked about my dog Hiskie & how my parents? hid the both of us in the basement? when the police? were banging at our door - obviously we didn't have a dog or basement

• Lots of people see it as and call it "Rebirth" but I personally don't see it as that. You, the person you are & all that makes you up, dies. There's no second chance.* It's a way for your soul to live on but not you the person. Your soul gets to live on as a whole new person. You couldn't point at two strangers on the road and say "they're the same person" the same way you can't point at the person you were and the person your soul will become and say "they're the same person"

* In game, the brothers also see it as "rebirth" and as a second chance. They see it as Lilith surviving and living past the war. Which makes sense because;

• Rebirth/Reincarnation is not a phenomenon than occurs naturally in OM!. In OM!, canonically as seen in S2, peoples' souls are represented as candles that burn out. Once the candle burns out that's the end. Their soul is gone for good. Diavolo specifically uses his powers to stop this from happening to Lilith and to give her soul a second chance even if Lilith the person doesn't really get one. In a world where it's a known fact that once a person dies their soul is gone for good, finding out that your loved one, who died tragically and at a young age, 's soul got to live another life that was long and happy would be amazing. It would seem like that person got a second chance for real.

• A dog could die and the soul could be reincarnated as a human, who lives their life and gets married etc etc. This person is a human, not a dog in a human's body. (Though according to Buddhism you need to collect a lot of good karma to be born as a human & if you're a shithead your bad karma gets you demoted to an animal when you die* <- personally don't believe in this at all for a lot of reasons but mainly I know for a fact that there are animals living better & more luxurious lives than me so what is this bs?)

* 01. My grandma constantly told 5 yr old me that if I continued to blow spit bubbles I'd be reincarnated as a slug (this only made me blow more out of spite)

02. There's a saying? that you can tell someone who's pissing you off, which translated, basically means " I hope you get born as a dog in a shitty family" which I think is the funniest way you can tell someone to fuck off

TLDR;

* "human Lilith" probably looked nothing like Angel! Lilith, probably had a different name, canonically only remembered her life as Angel! Lilith when she died & her soul returned to its original state (she did have the soul of an angel though which probably affected her human body and which lead to MC's latent magic powers/why MC canonically doesn't seem to be 100% human/why MC's own soul is so shiny even though they're kind of an ass)

*MC is not related to the brothers' sister Lilith, so it ain't incest, if it were that means according to Buddhism everyone is always at a constant risk of accidentally participating in incest and beastiality which yeah....I'm not religious but good god would I fight someone who sees it as this

2. Are the Brothers & MC a Family - More Specifically A Found Family?

Answer: Yes.

• MC and the brothers are very much a family- more specifically a found family - something which is explicitly stated in OM! near the end of S2.

• Found families are as important as biological families. Their bonds are as strong, if not more so because they get the option to choose each other.

• But found families are gonna be messy because no one's gonna be actually related to each other & romantic and/or sexual chemistry can crop up. And that's normal.

• Depending on the found family, no one may take on more stereotypical family roles or certain people may rise up to take on those roles (eg: parental roles). With either of these types it's still pretty normal to date each other because they're not your real parents. Hell even normal friend groups have the "Mom Friend", that doesn't mean said friend can't date within their friend group.

• Most found families are friend groups who got closer and started seeing each other as family (it's also a very queer concept because lots of found families are queer people who came together because they couldn't get the love, acceptance & connection, all humans need, from their biological families).

• They're not "family" in the biological-related sense but rather in the "we care about each other above all else. we'll always have each others' backs. we'll call each other when we need help. we may fight but at the end of the day we love each other and will come together again". Again it doesn't mean they can't date within the group.

• In OM! however it gets Extra Messy because it mixes an adopted family and a found family. The brothers are a found family (the oddballs of the Celestial Realm who came together), but they're also an adopted family (adopted by Lucifer who saw them all as his brothers/kids) - the second part of this means they're actually brothers - they grew up together and are no different from biological brothers. None of them are gonna see romantic or sexual prospects in each other (with the exception of Asmo but that's just cause he's the personification of Lust + he always gets shut down by the rest).

• MC on the other hand is NOT part of their adopted family but IS part of their found family. MC's a stranger they met when they were all adults who became friends with them and who came to see the brothers as their (found) family and vice versa. This means MC dating the brothers would be completely normal and again not incestuous which I think is a lot of peoples' worry.

• The best example of a found family, with certain members taking on parental roles, that still has them dating/sleeping with each other within said found family is Community (the tv show which is getting a movie HELLO!!?!?). And this is an issue that community actually addresses in more or less detail;

BONUS ROUND;

+ 1. What If MC Was Actually Related to Lilith the Angel; Would They Also Be Related to the Brothers?

The Answer: No.

• I've written a handful of human au! fics for the brothers and because of how short the time span in them must be, the whole descendent of a reincarnation thing doesn't work. Meaning I make MC a far off relation to OG! Lilith.

• For the answer to this question to be "No" you need to consider the background of two main points;

01. The Brothers & Lilith being an adopted family

-> Lilith & the brothers are canonically an adopted family. All the angels were created by God? presumably but they're not family/don't see themselves as family - the angels don't seem to practice family in the same way humans & demons do - I'm pretty sure the brothers are the odd ones out. Lucifer is the only one who refers to God as "Father" and Mammon canonically sees Lucifer as his dad. The brothers + Lilith are a family because Lucifer took them in one by one & referred to them as his family.

-> Am I saying being an adopted family makes their connections any less real or familial? No, calm down lemme get to my point.

02. MC's relationship with Lilith in this AU

-> MC (if MC was actually related to og Lilith) is a far off relation by thousands of years (my timeline between The Rebellion & S1 puts it at 5000+ years). Do you know who your blood relatives were 5000 years ago? Would you know who your blood relatives are 5000 years later?

-> To make up for the 5000 year time, in a human au MC would be a relative that's so far removed from your family that no one knows they or their own family branch even exists. It's doing a 23 and Me test & seeing you have some unheard of family line on the other side of the world. You're not gonna call them up and pretend to have some familial relationship with these complete strangers because not only will that be lowkey creepy, there's a high chance you won't even speak the same language.

• To make it easier to understand in our human lifetime perspective: Lilith and the brothers are part of a family where everyone was adopted by Lucifer (with only Satan being his biological son & only Lucifer being "God's" biological son). Lilith passes away and eventually the brothers meet MC who they befriend. Almost a year after they meet MC they accidentally discover that MC is a "so far off there's basically a 5000 year gap between us" relation of Lilith's. There'll be a lot of feelings involved, because Lilith's yknow dead, but after that's all dealt with in the grand scheme of things nothing's really changed. Lilith & the brothers' not being blood related didn't make them any less of a real family BUT Lilith & the brothers' not being blood related combined with how removed of a relative MC & Lilith are from each other means that there's no actual familial connection between MC & the brothers - they're not gonna look at each other and see their new sibling or something similar

Overall;

☆ Yes, MC & the brothers are a found family. It's one of my favourite things about OM! and one of the biggest reasons I stuck with this game for 2 1/2 years now (when a couple months is my usual attention span for games). OM!'s also the only dating sim ik of that pushed off the romance for one whole year (in game time) just so they can establish the found family aspect of it (ik there are lots of really good queer dating sims now - shoutout to The Arcana my love - but OM! is the queer dating sim for me)

☆ No, MC & the brothers aren't actually related and they don't see themselves as being related either

☆ Yes, MC can have romantic/sexual relationships with the brothers, it's nowhere near incest

☆ If you don't see the relationship between MC & the brothers as romantic then that's completely okay! While the events push the romantic aspect the main story lets you reject them and be only friends/family AND there are 7 more LIs available (though they are side characters & only get more screentime starting from S3)

Thanks for the ask! Just a quick note, that little character was actually meant to be a scug-ified version of my regular avatar, which I should probably make a ref for soon. I've always just liked the idea that it can "transform" into a different creature to match whatever fandom I'm dealing with, so I thought I'd portray it as a slugcat in this case!

Anyway though, onto the actual questions...

9. What are your opinions on Five Pebbles (character)?

Ohhh, now that's a very interesting matter! I really like characters like him because they're so fascinating to me! For now I will disregard the fantastical element of him being a massive supercomputer, because even though in-and-of-itself I think that's such a unique concept even in fiction, especially after I realized that Five Pebbles and Looks to the Moon really are the core of not just the "story" of Rain World but even the in-game environment itself, I imagine I'll have another chance to touch up on this so I'll save my longer thoughts on that for later.

That being said, I'll start by saying I love thinking about characters from a psychological perspective, trying to figure out why they are the way they are, why they do what they do, what they really want vs. what they think they want, how they really perceive themselves vs. how they present themselves publicly, etc. Characters like Five Pebbles are always an especially interesting choice for this kind of pondering, because, as flawed as they may be, so much of the situation around them also contributed to their downfall that I refuse to let everyone else off the hook too. And since I also don't believe anyone is inherently a "bad" person, it's really fun to ponder just how these characters go from being alright people to doing such terrible things and meeting such tragic ends.

To put it shortly, Five Pebbles (and other characters like him) is in my interpretation a great example of karma in the more real-life meaning, and the "you attract more of what you think about the most" idea. Five Pebbles always seemed to feel trapped by and at arms with his surroundings, from the great opposition to his very existence from the True Anointed Citadel, to him literally being physically stuck to Looks to the Moon, to the fear of opposition he must have had as a Sliverist, to him being stuck dealing with the rot, and finally with his collapse, left as a tiny fraction of himself buried in the cold, lifeless remains of his superstructure, with truly no way out on his own. Because he was so focused on escaping the perceived confines around him, all he did, albeit unknowingly, was end up finding more nets to get trapped in.

And again, while I think everyone around him did contribute to his awful end in some way, stories like these are still pretty sad to me because, in the end, I think these characters themselves need to learn to change their thinking, yet all the harshness they face can so easily lead them to create a vicious cycle. Five Pebbles isn't the first character I've enjoyed strongly whose story seemed to play out this way, and as sad as it is, it's also very intriguing.

And besides, it opens up plenty of potential for redemption arc AU stories—!

20. What is something you think the game could improve on?

The short answer: incentive.

The long answer: Let me start off by saying Rain World, to me, is fascinating largely as more of an art project than a normal video game. It's amazing how a relatively simple concept of a small animal in an urban environment they can't understand morphed into something so vast and extensive, combining nature with technology, science with religion, sci-fi with fantasy, and dunking it all in a super unique aesthetic that fuses urban street style with fancy ancient artwork, it's amazing!

BUT so much of this is lost to players because the game does, in my opinion, a pretty bad job of conveying it all. It's very confusing , especially to new players, and the only means of discovering the greater context of the story, besides just hearing it from other players/fans, is if not downright frustrating at least very tedious. And that's just getting the story itself. I think most people who have played this game haven't even made it that far, because the gameplay alone is so difficult the first time playing that if you aren't captivated by the mystery factor of the environment (or like me and also stubbornly dedicated to getting the bragging rights of having beat such a difficult game), you're too busy just trying to not die every other cycle to bother really exploring and ferrying the pearls to Moon, much less making sense of what you uncover.

I think the blank stare of the slugcats looking up at Five Pebbles perfectly encapsulates what I'm getting at here. You've got this absolutely fascinating story about a mechanical god who flew too close to the sun in a desperate attempt to escape the confines of his life, meanwhile the little slugcat is just all "...'kay", because what does this little animal care about the crazy religious hubris of some long-gone existence-hating people and their sad crumbling calculator robots when all it wants its is to just find more food and not get eaten again?

For a bit of devil's advocate, I will say that I think the difficulty of just playing the game and then figuring out its story, first of all is pretty "realistic" from the perspective of simulating a real-life ecosystem and having an animal discover complex lore in a way that they'd be physically capable of, but secondly has led the Rain World fandom to be really tight-knit compared to other fandoms I've seen. It seems like everyone I've come across is at least in the process of playing through all the campaigns, if not having already completed them and established some level of their own interpretation of the story, because they are all genuinely interested in the game, its characters, world, story, and themes enough to persevere through all the struggles of gameplay and lore confusion to enjoy it. However, it's also the same thing that makes this fandom rather small, which is also fine by me; I think there's lots of value in quality niche content!

With all that said though, I can't deny that I think this game isn't very good at getting players geuninely interested in all it has to offer. For evidence, consider how few players have even met Five Pebbles, who is perhaps the most important character in the entire game story-wise (Steam achievements has the "The Journey" Achievement at 12.0% of players as of posting this). Even from my experiences, I didn't even know what "Sliverist" actually meant until a couple weeks ago, and I've been playing this game and involved in the fandom for months at this point!

So yeah. To sumarize, in my opinion, Rain World is a fascinating and very inspiring art project, but most of what it has to offer is lost to most players because it's terrible at giving you a reason to care about it all. Thus, the main thing I think it could improve upon is giving players a reason to care about its worldbuilding and story enough to continue playing.

Kokichi x Reader, Soulmate AU

Ever since Kokichi was a child, he has been taken advantage of by people tricking him, because they were older and smarter than him. Because they knew more than him.

But that's exactly why he learned to figure out things on his own.

He has always been alone.

He learned quickly, that there was only one way, you're able to always hide your weaknesses. You just have to lie.

If you always lie, you're practically invulnerable, right? There is no way you can ever know if you actually hurt him. Or actually, found out any truth about him?

There was always the possibility, that he could have lied.

And that's why he can always stand out on top and act like everything was part of his plan. Always.

Of course, he is also used to people antagonizing him, because of that.

After all, who would want to be friends with a liar?

But he wasn't sad to be alone, it was better that way. Trusting someone means letting yourself stay open for attack.

And he would never do that.

One of the concepts that disgusted him the most were 'soulmates'.

He always claimed, he had no soulmate. That his soulmate died or something.

But that wasn't true. Almost every night he would stare at the ugly spot on his ankle and wish it was gone.

Sometimes he even thought, that maybe his soulmate really died.

There would probably never be a person, who can stand to be around him. And get to know the 'real' him.

Every time someone found their soulmate, they instantly gravitated toward them. Seemed to lose all their common sense. Some of them even sacrificed themselves for no reason, when their soulmate was in danger. Sometimes this even resulted in both of them dying, when one person could have survived.

Kokichi could never imagine him doing something like this.

And this is also the very reason, he was hoping to never meet his soulmate.

He didn't want anyone following him like a lost puppy, just because he happened to be their soulmate.

He didn't want anyone to like him superficially. But more importantly, he didn't want anyone to actually get to know him. Liking him for himself.

That would mean he would give away the only control he has over his life.

Unfortunately, fate didn't really want to go his way. He did meet his soulmate when he was in school one day.

You were looking at him with curious eyes when he strangely stared at the symbol on your collarbone for longer than necessary.

Your soulmate mark... wait, maybe the reason he was staring was because...?

"Hey, cut it out with your creepy ogling at their chest!" Your friend shouted at him.

Huh? You didn't think he was doing that...

"Oops, totally caught me." He grinned and looked into your eyes now.

Oh, so he was really..?

"Seriously, get away you creep." They shouted once again.

"Awww, you're so mean..." the boy said, looking like he was about to cry.

"I'll get going then, hehe." He grinned again. His demeanor changed so fast, that it caught both you and your friend off guard.

You didn't know why, but you felt like there was something off about that person... like you would meet him again.

And fate graced you since you did meet him again. Over and over again.

It was strangely comical, how you would meet each other in the strangest of circumstances. You wondered if he really was your soulmate.

But he immediately shrugged you off, when you presented him with your theory.

"No, way. I don't have a soulmate."

Even though that was common knowledge, there was strangely never anyone who confronted him with this, when he claimed he didn't have one.

"You don't have one? But... everybody does..."

Maybe people just didn't care enough? But you did.

"Yeah, you're right. I lied. It's actually a really sad story..." he trailed off, his face changing into one of sorrow.

...which was obviously fake. You wouldn't call yourself the best person at reading other's expressions in the world, but you could recognize that.

Which didn't mean he was bad at lying. In all actually... everyone seemed to always fall for his lies or think he was lying when he was telling the truth.

Everyone but you. Somehow you always knew when he was lying.

And it scared him.

"So, when I was very young, my soulmate tragically died in a car accident..." he continued his fake story.

"I know you're lying, you know..."

"That's kinda rude. You didn't even let me finish my fake story!" He fake cried.

"I don't know what it is in your past, that caused you to always lie, but you can drop your act around me."

"Wow, someone is an empath, huh?" He teased.

You didn't answer. You didn't know why he would lie about this.

If he really was your soulmate, he would tell you, right?

But if he wasn't, he had no reason to lie to you.

"Okay, I'll tell you. It's true, you're my soulmate." He shrugged.

Huh?

You felt surprised when he said that. Surprised, because...

"Aww, you look shocked. So, you actually believed that? Too bad, because it's a l-"

"It's the truth."

That's why you were surprised.

You felt it the moment he said it. You felt, that it was the truth and could never be a lie.

Now, that he's finally said it, you can actually know for sure.

When you looked up at him, he didn't have his carefree smile anymore.

He looked weirdly worried.

He hated this. He hated, that you could see right through him.

He wanted to repeat his 'Uh... no. It's really a lie.' but he couldn't.

You would probably notice it, if he would lie again.

But there was no way, right? There was no way you could actually know.

He already accepted, after your countless 'coincidental' encounters, that he was was probably not able to get rid of you again.

But still, he hasn't accepted telling you the truth.

But he wasn't able to. No matter how hard he tried.

Even if he would keep you around, he still had to keep you in the dark about his real intentions.

How could he comfortably live with someone like that? Always seeing his weaknesses. Always knowing, when he's lying.

If one day, he isn't sure anymore, if he's lying... would you know?

"I don't know why you're so worried, but if you want to, I'll play along."

"Huh?"

Of course, you always imagined having a wonderful relationship built on trust when you met your soulmate, but...

You fully believed that you could gain his trust one day.

"If you want to, I can act like I believe your lies. Like I believe we're not soulmates. If it makes you more comfortable..."

So you would lie for him? That sounded fun. But...

"Hm, that is no good." He answered, "If you're the soulmate of the Ultimate Supreme Leader, you have a reputation to live up to, you know? You have to be my partner in crime."

"So, no lying to each other, right? We have to lie with each other and fully trust each other. That's what it means to be partners in crime, right?" He asked with a childish grin.

He had this gleeful, child-like look on his face again. And this time it didn't even look too fake.

Of course, he didn't really instantly change from wanting to give you 0 trust, to 100%, but he wanted to try.

He really wanted to try.

After all, two lies are more convincing than one, right?
