“I wouldn’t say I was a catalyst, I’d say I was more of a mirror because I think I only have that space on stage to feel kind of free enough to be whoever I am because I think it’s an environment both the fans and people in my life, you know, my friends, have created for me to feel like I can be whoever I want.” - Harry on why his shows are such a safe space for fans to come out

ep 2 we're watching time pass let's do this!! 12 weeks to open my gosh they're insane
CARMY'S IN THE BLUE SWEATER. THIS IS GONNA BE AN EPISODE I CAN FEEL IT
talking about syd's familyyyyy (mom's birthday dinner? there's the mom again, why haven't we heard about her other than these tiny mentions? we hear so much more about her dad) they're over here being domestic! i've said it before but these two are Very intimate for people who've known each other for what, 3 months at most?
real vote of confidence in the career there carmy. God bless you and keep you sir. he is 100% not staying being a chef for his whole life
MARCUS THE PHONE
"i'll call him back" the bear is a comedy
also about carmy not finding himself funny -- carmy is funny, he's just got a very, very dry sense of humor. syd does too, but carmy's is the driest i've seen on tv in a while. carmy has, in fact, a lot of the qualities he prized in Mikey and that he prizes in others, he's just completely unable to see them. i know that's the stuff of character arcs, he'll grow more confident etc etc, but the older sister in me is coming out again and wants to slap him upside the head and make him see it
"if it makes you feel any better, my sister doesn't think i'm a genius" "it doesn't hurt" i love them. can i just say again that i love them and their banter is adorable
natalie is momming this restaurant and i love it. also i'm positive she's pregnant now, and she's gonna be a great mom and pete is gonna cry like a monster when they find out/when she gives birth. i need to see carmy with his little niece/nephew too, i doubt he's encountered many babies, and i think it'd be super cute
from the very little we've heard about mrs berzatto, i think i want her far away from the little baby
EBRA'S GOING TO CULINARY SCHOOL I DID NOT CALL THAT!!! i knew tina would have to in order to sous properly but!!! that's wonderful!! they're taking care to build a restaurant that can function without carmy being actively in the kitchen, and that's a very good thing
the fridge thing looks like it's gonna be a reoccuring thing too. the fridge, the fire stuff, the hole in the wall...anything i'm missing? i'm sure there will be more later, we've got 8 1/2 more episodes for things to go Wrong
blue sweater = mikey hanging over the episode. noting that now in case it comes back. it also looks really nice with his eyes, coloring, and the gold chain, so maybe can we get more blue sweaters that aren't the Trauma Blue Sweater?
"that was really fun!" that is the first time i think we've heard carmy call something fun. that is incredibly sad and this scene is really well acted and giving richie the hat is the right call and
and
and he turned right to syd and is leaving with her. holy eff.
yeah this is text at this point. gets mikey's letter, texts syd. finds mikey's hat, leaves with syd. syd's what distracts him from pain, syd's what helps him smile when he's in pain. whether you view this romantically or not (and the show does, look at the camera angles, the audio choices, etc), that's not debatable
also "the apartment"?? not "my apartment"??? kids how often do you work there this is Text
marcus looking for her attention away from carmy, that's what i figured -- boy has a crush but he's not Bad about it or anything, refreshing
"i'm not an asshole!" yeah you are syd XD everyone in this show is it's just everyone's more than just an asshole as well

Cool Examples of Art Forms You Might Think Are Boring
Here's a handful of remarkable works of art forms with a reputation for being boring, stuffy, or inaccessible. These are pieces that I think give a decent introduction to the art form, showcase some interesting benefits of it, and/or that might appeal to people who have previously shrugged or turned up their nose at the genre. I was disinterested in these genres until I was blessed with enough college elective credits to delve deeper into them so here are some curated selections, almost all of them are on YouTube and the opera and ballet clips are mostly under 5 minutes. Have a look around, check out whatever sounds interesting, and feel free to link to more examples.
Silent Films
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari: German expressionist horror from 1920. Very stylistically driven and massively influential. The sets alone are worth the watching, and it's essential viewing for any horror fan.
Nosferatu: Another classic horror film, very on-season for Dracula Daily readers. This and the Caligari version above are both updated to have English captions built in.
Le Voyage dans la Lune: Short film from 1902 by Georges Méliès. Méliès is widely known for being arguably the first special effects artist, and this is pretty well agreed upon as the first sci fi movie. If the first part bores you, at least check out the moon set.
The Adventures of Prince Achmed: This 1926 film is the oldest surviving feature length animated film (65 minutes) and it's absolutely stunning. It's created with silhouetted paper cut outs and took three years to make. Vimeo.
Metropolis: This one might be too long for silent film novices at 2.5 hours, but it needs at least a mention. Most lists have this film as their number one silent movie and it's not for no reason.
The Passion of Joan of Arc: This film is mostly known for its groundbreaking use of close-ups and facial expressions. I can't find a good quality version with English subtitles (let me know if you have one) so here's a short clip to show off those camera angles.
Opera
L'incoronazione di Poppea: If you want to get more into opera, why not start with a clip from an opera by the man usually credited with inventing opera. Beautiful piece of music that demonstrates the early days of the art form and a great example of a countertenor (male soprano). The singers also do an excellent job portraying how weird and messed up this relationship actually is.
Salome: To fulfill your "woman covered in blood" needs.
Sellars' Don Giovanni: A 1990 version of Mozart's 1787 masterpiece set in the 1980s in Harlem. A neat take on my personal favorite opera. The rest of the opera is available in segments on Youtube.
Cinderella: A campy 1981 version of a very catchy melody from Rossini.
Wozzeck: I have never seen a version of this that wasn't batshit insane and that's how it should be. This is a later opera from the 1920s that is meant to be atonal and bizarre. It's avant-garde, a little disturbing, and very expressionist. This is a clip from a 2016 version.
The Magic Flute Animation: More Mozart! The first three videos in this playlist are from an animated (and heavily shortened) English version of the Magic Flute. A great way to experience the story and some of the music without watching a whole opera.
The Night Queen Aria: which is from the Magic Flute. If you've only heard one aria, it's probably this one. This is, in my opinion, the best version.
Ballet
Alice in Wonderland: A clip of the tap-based Mad Tea Party scene, featuring great costumes. This performance has a lot of really neat scenes, and I'd also recommend the Middle Eastern-inspired Caterpillar scene (I mean just look at this man move).
Swan Lake coda: These two can fly. A great clip of a famous coda that demonstrates just how superhuman these dancers need to be.
Mr. Jeremy Fisher: This is the frog ballet that you've definitely seen gifs of on tumblr. I can't find the whole thing, but here's a 5 minute clip that also shows off that beautiful set.
Frankenstein: I never knew I needed this but I love it. This clip is more acting than dancing, so here's another that shows off some ballet skills.
Don Quixote: I just love the joy in this scene, and those floaty skirts are amazing. Also someone gets slapped by a fish.
Edward Scissorhands: Another interesting adaption choice. Watch the way they have to dance so that the scissors never touch her skin, that is highly unnatural for a duet and must have been very difficult to choreograph.
If there's another art form you think people should give a second look, let me know!

Love and friendship review guardian
Tumblr media
It’s a real treat watching some of the more tense moments as Trico runs across breaking bridges and climbs collapsing structures. Visually, the game can be glorious, especially when overlooking the crumbling city and its sun-kissed towers, glistening water pools and ruins draped in rich green plant life. There’s a lot of pulling levers to open gates, and ascending towers to progress, and three quarters in it begins to feel tiresome, padding out a story that has run out of ideas long before. If you are spending quite a lot of time on a particular puzzle, the narrator will give you a clue, but these can pop up long after you’ve lost your temper trying to solve them. Movement feels slow, and trying to combine all of the mechanics for a puzzle can result in some really painful ‘pull out all your hair and punch a wall’ moments. Jumping and pulling levers can be tricky when you’re required to rush, and it almost feels as though you’re playing PlayStation One-era Tomb Raider on a PS4. Climbing off and on Trico is awkward, and with the camera moving around on its own accord, it becomes a very frustrating task. My last major problem with The Last Guardian is the control system. It never stops being this bad, but you somehow get used to it, which I guess is somewhat of a mixed blessing. Say I wanted to look up for a way out of a cave, the camera would take two to three times longer than it would in any other game, and when I reached a view I was happy with, the camera would move past it for no reason. Looking around is slow and can be too sensitive. Some of the camera angles are abhorrent I lost count of the times they zoomed right up Trico’s arse and saw nothing but feathers, or disappeared behind a wall only to see nothing but dark grey stone. They were practically touching his mouth, yet for some bizarre reason he couldn’t grab them, and in the end I had to physically stand with them in my hand until he stole them from my grip. No joke, I spent fifteen minutes putting two barrels next to his mouth, only for him to keep attempting to grab them and miss every time. In other parts you’ll need to feed him these glowing barrels, which requires you to pick them up and place them near him or throw them in his mouth. You may see the spot you need to reach, but he can spend a stupid amount of time ignoring you for no apparent reason. Some of the world requires Trico to jump up numerous platforms, and getting him to do so can take far too long. They are very simple commands, but can take so long for him to undertake due to really bad AI, and unfortunately, this is only the start of the problems. You can communicate with Trico, offering a few worded commands which will make him move in a specific direction, jump, shove, grab or dive, depending on the circumstances. The voice is of an older man – of the boy as an adult and it gives the story an archaic quality associated with the kinds of tales you heard in history lessons as a child. Like the other Ueda titles, dialogue is made up, and the subtitles are spoken in an uncommon tongue. You both care greatly for each other, and as the game nears its emotional conclusion it becomes apparent just how much. You can also stroke Trico to calm him down and help him after a particularly stressful or dangerous situation. If Trico gets wounded, you can jump onto him and pull out a spear which helps to ease his pain. Throughout the entirety of the game, Trico and the boy’s friendship is the most important aspect of the story, and you are invested into their connection. After helping him escape, you must flee the caverns and ancient ruins of a lost civilization, solving puzzles and fighting off mysterious stone warriors that want nothing more than take you away. Next to you, a large creature called Trico howls in pain, spears plunged deep into his body and a thick iron chain strapped to his neck, holding him prisoner. You play as a young boy who starts out asleep in a cave, covered in weird markings, with no recollection of how you ended up there. Technically, however, The Last Guardian is a real disappointment most of the camera angles are terrible, the controls are clunky and Trico’s AI is painful, almost to the point where you’d not think twice about putting down the controller and moving onto something else. If you’re one of those people – one of those that wish Ueda was the guy who told you your bedtime stories as a kid and not your father, I doubt you’ll be disappointed with this wonderful tale of friendship, love and adventure. It’s been almost ten years since The Last Guardian was announced via Japanese games publication Famitsu, and ever since, fans of ICO and Shadow of the Colossus have been speculating, hoping and dreaming about the third instalment from visionary director, Fumito Ueda.

Wedding Photography: 5 Essential Photography Equipment
Wedding photography has its seasons, and with each new one, the expectations, trends, ideas, and visions of the couple and the photographer change. But the thing that remains constant is to click well-composed, sharp, and well-lit photographs of every moment. To do so, you need to be on top of your game and well-versed with what is new in the industry, join online photography courses in India to stay up to date. To cater to different moods, situations, weather conditions, and subjects at various locations, a photographer would need a couple of wedding photography tips and the right photography equipment.   Here are 5 essential photography equipment that every photographer needs to convert their vision into a reality and meet client’s expectations at their wedding:
Memory card: If you are clicking pictures or recording videos in 4K, you would need fast memory cards. One of the effective wedding photography tips is to make the memory card your primary storage so that you don’t have to worry about losing your data to camera damage or defect. Once home, you can easily transfer your data to an external hard disk.
Every type of lens: If you are new to the industry, it is advisable to join offline or online photography classes to understand how to handle lenses to your advantage. A medium zoom lens will give you a great focal length to click amazing portraits of the guests. Also, with the wide aperture, you can easily click bright pictures in dark areas. To capture the ceremonies from a distance or take closeups of the couple’s dance, you would need a telephoto lens. If you are thinking of experimenting with wedding photography tips for couples with their family members, don’t forget to take a wide-angle lens with you.
Speedlights: Indian weddings are an entire day affair. They can go on till late hours, and as a photographer, it is your duty to capture every moment, be it in sunlight or late at night. By using an external flash, you will be able to produce well-lit pictures in places where there is low light. What would be more beneficial for you is to join online photography courses in India and get more night photography techniques and tricks at your fingertips.
Professional camera: This is the most basic equipment and needless to say the most important one to carry with you at a wedding. It is good to have a camera that delivers incredibly realistic details, maximizes sensitivity, and allows 4K shooting and recording. Having a professional camera with distinctive qualities will help you to try your hands on wedding photography tips for couples and produce extraordinary shots. If you are on your hunt for the best wedding photography camera, don’t forget to check out Panasonic Lumix S1.
Light stands: Some great shots will demand your flashlight to be placed at unconventional angles. Put your speedlight on the stand, adjust them as you please, and bring out your photography creativity to the maximum. You can prevent your light by putting a tape under it and then placing it on the stand if it is made of metal.
From comfortable camera straps to lens cleaner and tripod, there are many camera equipment that can help a wedding photographer to capture a wedding perfectly. While online photography classes are a blessing, practicing regularly and experimenting with the gears can also help you identify what suits your strengths better and helps you click great pictures. Also, one great piece of advice that will save you from last-minute stress is to carry extra equipment.

most to least good at taking pictures of their s/o with the aot boys?
coming in first place is armin, as much as i hate to admit it. he might even have a polaroid but even with his phone he always chooses the best filters, knows the places with the best lighting, will encourage you to post it to your socials because you look amazing even though he's already posted it to his with the captions "look how drop dead gorgeous they are"
bertholdt always chooses the best times, always makes sure you're smiling, and always checks with you after you take the picture if you like it. his camera roll is all pictures of you, it's adorable. he also has very organized filters to remember dates and places that he took the pictures so he's constantly texting you memories
everyone is surprised but eren is so good at taking pictures! you could be doing anything - reading a book, typing busily on your laptop, eating - and he'll sneak his phone out, take a really good shot from a nice angle, and then tuck his phone back in his pocket. a bit shy to admit that he does this, and slightly embarrassed to tell you that he looks at them when he gets anxious because they calm him down.
it's so frustrating, and yet porco takes pictures of you when you're sleeping, the asshole, and they still come out amazing! even with the bit of drool coming out of your mouth, he hushes your protests and insists that you look cute and besides, who's going to see it besides you and him and pieck who he's already texted??
jean takes the cutest selfies. that's just canon. wherever you are, whether at the beach or driving in the car or just lazing around at home, he'll hold his phone up and tell you to pose. 100% captions his photos with things like "me and my bae >>>> you (eren)" or "this asshole really messed up my hair after this ily but"
listen he doesn't just take them for the hell of it, but zeke is really good at remembering to take pictures at really fancy events where the two of you are super dressed up. more often than not he'll drag you away from everyone else for a few minutes because he found a really good spot that will bring out your eyes. times the picture and goes to stand with you, you two absolutely are that one couple everyone hates for being too cool.
i feel like reiner reserves pictures for special moments, and usually prefers that you be the one to take them. but he'll indulge himself every once in a while, takes a nice if kinda stiff picture of you two smiling and saves it to his folder of pictures to look at during a rainy day. also sometimes requests that you send him your own selfies since he thinks they're better.
floch will roll his eyes whenever you throw your arms around him from behind and ask him to take a picture, but he'll oblige you. the quality isn't really that bad, it's just that anyone looking at the picture can tell he wasn't enthusiastic to stop and take a picture when he could be spending time with you. almost always end up with him scowling in the photo, but he later crops himself out and keeps your smiling face in.
oh, erwin. i love him, i really do, but...yikes. he takes so many pictures of you, it's just that most of them are taken from a really bad angle or with a glaring light. he's proud of them, though, posts them like they're the greatest things on earth, and you just have to roll with it because you can't break his heart. please like every picture, he'll appreciate it and then continue to take more terrible ones <3
you would think that connie would be really good at taking photos, but he never takes one that fully satisfies him. it actually bothers him for a good while but he eventually realizes that what he loves about you is your vibrancy, how you move, the little quirks that are just impossible to capture on camera. so he actually prefers making videos instead, like recorded video diaries in which he narrates you doing everyday activities.
colt really tries, okay?? he really does. it's not his fault that someone (usually gabi) knocks his hand away at the side right as he's clicking the button, or that you move and the picture is ruined. luck is just never on his side. no matter what he does, something always happens to ruin the picture and he eventually just gives up. it's a perfect time for you to take a picture of him and capture his pouty face.
and coming in at dead last is levi, bless his soul. cannot take a single photo that isn't blurry or zoomed in weirdly and doesn't really get the point of taking pictures anyways. he's spending time with you, what need does he have for a picture when he could just look at you with his very own two eyes? you're much prettier when he's not looking at you through a screen at any rate. he prefers the real thing any day.

Quick thoughts on Shang-Chi
PHENOMENAL FILM. Worth going to see!!! Please support it if you can!
Some quick spoiler free things I loved about it before I go to bed.
WATER EFFECTS. DUDE. THESE WERE AMAZING. I really hope Disney paid these people what they're worth because holy fuuuuck. There's a ton of CGI of course but the water effects look especially incredible.
THE CAST IS LITERALLY ONE OF THE MOST PERFECT CASTINGS EVER.
Yeah admittedly initially I wasn't sure how I'd feel about Awkwafina as she was kinda frustrating to me during Raya and the Last Dragon but this script was much better for her. She still gets to let her humor shine but also isn't overwhelming, too modern, or inappropriately timed.
Also, Wong. Wong is always a win. Blessed. Is that a spoiler? I hope not.
Okay the villain. The villain. Holy shit the villain. I. Freaking. Love. I really don't wanna say too much because the journey this character takes us on is phenomenal. And again the casting is the freaking best. I don't remember if his name was revealed in the marketing so I feel hesitant to even name him cause I worry it would be spoilers. But heeeck I love this villain. Fascinating arc. Incredible acting.
An unexpectedly character appears and honestly he's great. Again avoiding spoilers but any long time MCU fans will be pleasantly surprised by this.
Also of course it must be mentioned that this film has incredible Asian representation. The actors themselves, the frequent use of Mandarin with the English subtitles, the way Chinese mythology and folklore is woven into the world, all breathtaking. We need more of this. Period.
HEALTHY PLATONIC RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN A MAN AND A WOMAN WHILE STILL GETTING TO BE AFFECTIONATE HELL YEAH.
The music really slapped. The only song with words I can remember was the end credits song but there's fun and beautiful pieces all throughout the film.
I feel the plot gets a bit predictable from the halfway point through the rest of the film however I feel that despite this it still leads to an overall satisfying ending. Maybe not the best ending but still a good one for sure.
Also, end credit scene. It's brilliant. Loved it.
Did I mention the camera work was great? So many action movies feel the need to compensate with tons of quick cuts but this one really had a good balance of quick cuts and longer holds. Occasionally the cuts felt too quick to process what was happening between the cut and the action also being so quick but overall it's better than most action movies. Really enjoyed the good work on angles and close ups as well.
Also the lighting is really good. I think it suffered a little bit more in the second half than it did in the first as sometimes the lighting led to the environment and characters looking more obviously greenscreened. But at the same time I really can't complain. This is more of a nitpick. Overall the lighting is really well done and I'm sure most viewers won't even notice it. Better in the first half but still pretty good overall.
Action and fighting was some of the best I've seen in years. Intense and very real feeling for most of the shots. Entertaining but also still made me cringe quite a lot because ow that had to hurt. Made it feel real.
I really want to say more but again I want to avoid spoilers for those who haven't seen it. This was definitely a theater worthy film and a great film overall. I feel most if not all my complaints are nitpicks at best which leads me to say this film has a strong foundation. Plot, script, acting, it's all there. The quality is definitely going to push this movie into the upper rankings of MCU films. I have pretty heavy Marvel burn out after years of obsession but this is legitimately giving me that spark back. I can't wait to see more of this world and these characters into the larger universe. Hopefully this film's success will show Disney that there is a demand and desire for 1, greater rep in media and 2, a greater demand for quality. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings meets both of these.
9.5/10, will care about the MCU again for them.

Kermit and Friends: Unhappily Vaxxed
Tumblr media
Kermit and Friends is a show that welcomes everyone. It doesn’t matter what race you are, what culture you come from, what religion you believe in, what sexual preferences you have, or what political party you’re aligned with. That’s just one of the many things that makes KAF so special.
However, it doesn’t stop at Kermit and Friends... the show’s host, Elisa Jordana, pretty much carries this mindset into her real life. She’s willing to be friends with ANYONE as long as they’re nice, funny, or interesting. Nothing else matters outside of having just one of those qualities. Bless her beautiful heart.
Unfortunately, not surrounding yourself with a likeminded bubble can lead to some annoyances, to put it lightly.
Everything in America is politicized right now. It’s been that way since a celebrity became President and the media started obsessing over him. Instead of COVID-19 being a health crisis, it became a political tool used by both parties to cater to their voters beliefs.
Since Elisa has friends on both sides of the political spectrum, she was hearing about it from every angle regarding the vaccine. From her Democratic friends, COVID-19 is the scariest disease in human history despite none of them actually knowing anyone who died from it. From her Republican friends, the vaccination was created to kill off the population despite none of them actually knowing anyone who died after taking the vaccine.
So when it came time for Elisa to make a choice whether or not she should get vaccinated... she had friends/family members telling her she was going to die with either choice she made. Imagine how nerve wracking that must be for someone who already has severe anxiety issues? It broke my heart to see Elisa so stressed out over this.
Elisa ended up getting vaccinated. I saw on her Facebook she was STILL being criticized by her liberal friends for waiting this long... it’s so ridiculous. Thankfully though, Elisa is perfectly fine. If you give 100 million people a Tylenol pill, a very small percentage of them will get sick from it and possibly even die. The odds of that happening though are about the same as winning the lottery (that also goes for the odds of dying from COVID). The coronavirus situation is a very serious issue since a small percentage of people dying or becoming seriously ill is nothing to take lightly, but it’s so silly how political everything revolving around it has become. Thankfully Elisa can put it all behind her now and not worry about it any longer.
Claire from New Jersey called into the show to announce he was converting to Christianity and accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Claire even said he was getting baptized Sunday night. I’m personally all for this, I think there’s a lot of good that can be learned from Jesus’s teachings and being a believer in Him. However, Claire took it a step further and said he’s joining a sanctuary of some kind and won’t be allowed back on the internet for the next few months.
This to me is taking it a tad bit far. You don’t need a community to be a believer in Jesus Christ. I also find the internet very helpful when learning about the Bible and Christianity as a whole. To eliminate it and instead go with a group led by some pastor or two is a mistake in my opinion, but hey... maybe this will lead Claire to happiness and fulfillment. I certainly hope so. His calls and presence in chat will be certainly missed.
Claire claims the place he’s going to is like a rehab facility so he can overcome his addictions to food and porn. Elisa hilariously took intrigue in Claire’s porn viewing habits... her questions made me laugh hard. Elisa also shared that Claire was the reason Sugar didn’t co-host the show this week. I know Claire had some critical comments about Sugar in the chat last week, but I was surprised to hear it had that kind of negative impact on her. Hopefully Claire will find it in his heart to apologize and sweet Sugar will return to her Kermit and Friends family very soon. We all love you Sugar and we missed you on yesterday’s show!
T-Bob and Kleenex had a spat on a livestream earlier this week and decided to continue it on Kermit and Friends. The fight on the livestream had to do with political stuff, and the fight yesterday was just them name calling one another. It was entertaining but nothing substantial I could break down and explain.
Their fight did lead to a guy named Mark Connors calling into the show. Referred to as Mark Cruz by T-Bob, this Mark dude claims to be a multi-millionaire and a former country music star who’s friends with Dolly Parton. How someone of this status can be so obsessed with T-Bob is baffling to me. He ranted about Bob in two separate calls for what had to be 15 minutes combined. Mark even brought his wife on the line to talk about a time when Bob supposedly threatened to skull f*** her, whatever that means.
According to T-Bob, Mark “Cruz” is a statutory rapist that got off because he was friends with the judge or something like that. Bob has made it one of his life missions to expose Mark’s allegations to the World, claiming he had news vans sent to Mark’s house in Tennessee to ask him about his legal troubles.
Who knows what’s true and what’s false with these guys. All I know is that it has to be unbelievably tiresome to carry so much hatred for another human being. There aren’t many things I like about myself, but one thing I would never change is the fact that I obsess over things/people I love, not over things/people I hate.
Kermit made 3 new awesome friends yesterday. The first was a very nice man by the name of Chip Baker. Chip is another one of Coach Love’s associates. He is the author of The Formula Chart For Life and he specializes in positive inspiration and motivation. Chip brought that positive energy to Kermit and Friends with a glorious smile and fun attitude, not letting the T-Bob/Kleenex stuff bother him at all, even offering advice to both men.
Laura Meadows and her handsome son Culver also made their KAF debuts yesterday. Laura is an actress that’s had roles in over 80 movies/television shows ranging from Law and Order, Any Given Sunday, and lots of horror stuff. Her son Culver was singing in the background when she first joined the show and later Laura brought him on to perform in front of the camera, but he was a bit too shy. I would absolutely love to see more of Laura and Culver on KAF in the future... both seem like extremely sweet people that exemplify the spirit of Kermit.
Sigmond returned to the show to give the greatest Rhianna cover you’ll ever hear when he sung her song, Stay. Wappy also beautifully performed Lady Picture Show by Stone Temple Pilots and Easy by The Commodores. Kermit and Friends is really blessed to have these two gentlemen and their amazing musical talent on the show every week.
To end the episode, Elisa played a phone recording of her final conversation with Andy Dick. It started with Andy mad at Elisa for the publicity he received over his arrest being covered on Kermit and Friends; then when Elisa defended herself, Andy went on this self-loathing tangent saying he doesn’t deserve her or anyone else. Andy then promptly hung up on Elisa when his friends started calling for him, pretty much summing their entire relationship up in 2 seconds.
What a jam packed show it was this week. There was a little bit of everything. I’m very proud of Elisa for both facing her fears head-on regarding the vaccination shot and for doing the show even though her anxiety/stress levels had been through the roof the previous 24 hours. That took a lot of fortitude and strength, and Elisa was rewarded with an awesome episode of Kermit and Friends that everyone enjoyed.

Thread: Two #jamcryptid busks on Nellaser’s Landing
shapednote: Okay, I cannot take credit for the first of these videos, my brother caught it on his way home from work, which is why the sound quality is awful, but he still caught twenty minutes for me before he had to go, but a friend of mine texted about a second session and I took my good mic and caught most of an hour, you are all WELCOME.
{two videos of Elyn playing on a street corner, with her PA bot looking over the collection basket}
shapednote: Notes: a few familiar ones in here! She really likes that “Spacefarer’s Daughter” one, and there’s that demiplanar lullaby again. But also just a lot of loops she seems to set up on the spot and improvise over. Still working on timestamps for everything. If anyone has IDs for some of her non-originals, I’d appreciate some help, she’s got really wide influences.
lvl20lute: Back to Nellaser’s Landing! Also bless you for getting some good sound quality at last, Shape. Any response to you showing up with a good mic?
shapednote: I stayed back, mostly, so no! I think she might have noticed me at some point, but not too much. The third song on that second recording seems like your kind of thing. Any idea what it is? She only says that we’ll have to forgive her pronunciation of the Undercommon.
station.eri: Shape! These are the longest (and in the second case, the cleanest!) recordings I’ve heard of her yet, thank you so much!!! (Also if anyone’s following my project of doing a deep analysis of one of her polyrhythmic loops, that’s going to be done in the next few weeks unless there’s another massive dump of music like this, since I expect this is going to consume me for the next three days.) She has got SO much presence, for someone who barely talks to her audience! What’s it like live?
shapednote: Just as magnetic as you would expect! I just … really do not understand why she is busking on the street. It’s a great thing for musicians of all levels to do, sure! But she is friends with Archmage Zebari! (Not even gossiping about personal lives here, listen to her introduce that Undercommon song, apparently they helped her with the pronunciation.) Even if she weren’t good enough on her own merits, the archmage could get her into any concert venue on the station, and we’ve got some good ones!
orc.arina: Please don’t tempt me with the thought of a full Elyn of Procyon headliner concert with professional video and audio. It is the only thing I want more than a studio album. HEY ARCHMAGE ZEBARI, IF YOU GO SEARCHING FOR YOUR FRIENDS, CAN YOU SPONSOR AN ALBUM.
clary-net: Oh, that sound quality! Seriously, thank you, @shapednote, this is exactly what I wanted today. Also glad that she and the archmage seem to be actual friends, not just associates in demiplanar contact. (Although speaking of friends, I don’t see her friend or the world’s largest dog! It’s rare to get one video without either of them, let alone two such long ones! I hope all is well there. This is why I don’t like enjoying adventuring bards, you get worried when they disappear for a while.)
station.eri: Update from my second listen-through of the long video: she just winked at someone, can’t tell who from the camera angle, and I might never recover.
lvl20lute: @shapednote I had to do some looking, but apparently it’s an adapted aria from an opera from Zarakib? She must have gone to the Underdark at some point, I guess. Time to go looking in the news there to see if anything’s gone to hell lately!
orc.arina: I feel a little bad for how much we all try to stalk her, but not too bad, considering she is TERRIBLE AT SELF-PROMOTION. Please, Elyn of Procyon, would you like a media manager?

How the Lights Shine So Colorful and Bright
Tumblr media
I hope that this satisfies. It just ended up being a bunch of cute fluff. This is actually two parts. Part one is just Rami X Reader and some quality time, the second part is Dad!Rami X Kids X Reader. Fyi, they have four kids in this one. :) Whoops. Busy little horn dogs.
Warnings: implied/mentioned sex, and just a lot of cute fluffiness. I cried writing a part of this.
These are just two separate HC’s totaling about 2k words
Rami X Reader
For the record I am not from NY, nor have I ever been to NY, so anything that is listed in here is sourced straight from a quick Google search.
Word Count: 1060 words (Part One)
You and Rami had escaped to New York in early December. He had some promotional work that he had to do, and he also said that you were overdue for some one-on-one quality time
You stayed behind in the hotel sleeping in for the first time in nearly six years, having four kids is exhausting, while he went to work. The twins, your toddler, and the baby
When he finally came back from fulfilling his work obligations he found you still in bed, dead asleep and he couldn’t help the quiet chuckle that escaped him.
He shrugged off his coat, and took his shoes off before he carefully climbed into the bed with you.
“Hey sleepyhead.” he says, as he gently brushes your hair back from your face.
“If no one is bleeding, dying, or the house isn’t on fire then please leave mommy alone!” you mumble out.
He laughs loudly and you open your eyes.
“How was work?” you mumble out.
“It was fine. It’s always kind of fun doing the initial promo stuff. Buttttttttt, now that I’m free for the rest of the day I was thinking that maybe we could go get something to eat, and then maybe you know... because it’s been awhile since we’ve... ya know. I have plans for us tonight though.
Your day passes by all to quickly between shopping, eating, and having the hot sex you two were so overdue and that next thing you know it’s getting late.
You had both taken a brief nap after one particular round of vigorous sex, so you were both charged up and ready for whatever he had planned.
He gets into the closet and pulls out a garment bag, and tells you to put the dress that is inside the bag on.
You draw in a sharp breath, and then almost start to cry as you open the bag.  “Baby, where did you find this dress?”
“I found an old picture of the two of us and you were wearing it, and you know, I know people. So I had this dress made for you. I know how much that dress meant to you. You were wearing it when we first met, on our first date, when I asked to be my girlfriend, the first time we kissed, it’s also the dress I took off of you the first time the we had sex. When you lost everything in that house fire, you told me how that dress and your grandmother's copy of Pride & Prejudice were the only things that meant anything to you.”
You threw your arms around his neck and brought your lips to his. That is just how amazing your husband is, he would do anything like this for anyone that he loved.
“So get dressed YN, because we have plans.”
You got dressed really quickly and taking his hand you both headed out the door of your hotel.
Usually when you visit the city you both take public transportation, but not today. He had hired a car with a driver. You try to ask him what he was up to, and then it dawns on you.
“Baby are we.. are we going to go look at the Christmas lights?”
“Yes.”
“That’s just like-omg-I love you so much!!” you feel the tears wanting to start again, as you lean into his shoulder.
“Yes, just like our first date.We were both so broke, and I was so excited when you didn’t want to ditch me after that. That other guy that really liked you was rich, and I thought that there was no chance in hell that you’d ever want to see me again.”
“Oh baby. I had the biggest crush on you and we’d just never met, only ever seen each other from a distance. I never thought that I had a chance in hell because you were and still are the most beautiful man that I’ve ever seen.”
He kisses your temple, just as the car pulled over.
We’re at Rockefeller Center. You got out,and walked around for a bit. Admiring the giant Christmas tree and all of the other sights and sounds around us.
When you were standing as close to the bottom of the tree as was possible, he took out his phone and angled the camera to capture you both in a selfie.
An older gentleman and his wife were walking by and they stopped and offered to take a few pictures of the two of you.
He presses another kiss to your temple, and then takes your hand in his.
Your husband was so caring and gracious, that when a couple of fans spotted him, he happily agreed to take a few photos with them. You offered to take them and they declined and asked you to be in the picture too.
After spending a little while in one location, he’d have you back in the car and off to the next.
This time he shuffled you off to Bryant Park. The skating rink, with the NY Public Library looming in the distance, and all the little ways that the area was lit up. The random decorations around, the cool night air wanting you to just lean into him. The different vendors that were set up along the way.
The last location of the night was for a stroll down Fifth Avenue, mostly just so that you can look at all the displays in the windows, and the way things were decorated so meticulously.
Your night ended with dinner at a restaurant close to your hotel, walking back in the chilly night air.
Walking, hand in hand, just like all those years ago. You really couldn’t have asked for a better date night.
“YN, all the bright lights could never shine any brighter than you, or my love for you.”
He stops you in the middle of the sidewalk, others around you huffing in irritation as they had to maneuver around you; he reaches up to cup the back of your neck as your body practically melts into his. The kiss you shared was so sweet yet full of passion.
You rest your head on his shoulder. “This was the best date that we’ve had in a long time. Maybe we should strip it down more often, and just do things the cheap and simple way like we used to Rami.”
“I couldn’t agree more.”
***********************************************************
Part Two
Dad!Rami X Kids X Reader
Go to the LA Zoo Lights - for the record I’ve never been there, never done that, I hope it’s not disappointing. I did a basic Google search and got some information about this. I hope for those of my readers that have been, that it is accurately described.
Word Count: 1056
“Daddy!!!! I wanna go to the zoo!!” your oldest two started yelling repeatedly, in unison
“We will go in just a minute, mommy is just finishing changing the baby.”
The sun had just barely set, everyone fed, and now you two were getting ready to round up your crew of kiddos to get them in the car.
They had been excited about going to the zoo in the dark for a week. It’s all they’ve talked about.
The twins were bouncing off the walls, your toddler was having a meltdown because she wanted to wear her pink sparkly shoes, but they were nowhere to be found, so she had to wear her purple sparkly shoes instead.
The baby had just pooped after being fed, so you were finishing changing him and then everyone was set to go.
Sometimes you and Rami joke about how crazy you had been to have kids so close in age, but parenthood was something he wore just as well as he wore those fancy suits.
Rami was trying to keep your three oldest entertained as you dealt with the baby.
Walking into the living room, you couldn’t help but to laugh. Rami was on the floor with three kids on top of him.
“Heeeellllllllllllpppppppppppp meeeeeeeeeee!!!” he dramatically cried out, waiting for you to come to his rescue.
With a loud sigh you set the baby down on his play mat on the floor before walking over to your husband.
You grabbed your toddler and one of the twins and began to tickle them.
“My heroooo!” Rami laughed, as he gave you a kiss, standing up. Scooping the other twin into his arms and tossing him in the air.
“Soooo… who is ready for some zoo lights? And maybe some ice cream after if it’s not too late and you behave?!”
The two oldest stopped in their tracks and started screaming, which caused your toddler to start screaming, which made the baby cry.
Rami just laughed, as he scooped your infant off the floor and into his arms.
Grabbing the diaper bag that was full to bursting with everything that would possibly be needed for an evening away from the house, along with the stroller, baby carrier, and the backpack, you grab your small army and head to the car.
You are a minivan family. Rami hated it at first, but once he realized there was no way in hell that you were all gonna fit in the small SUV you had, he had begrudgingly agreed and bought the minivan
You were strapping in the twins, while Rami was wrestling with your toddler, the baby having already been strapped in to his car seat and snapped into the base of his car seat.
Rami drove you all to the zoo, where the twins excited screeching was just getting louder by the minute, the toddler just jabbering away about who knows what, God bless your infant son who was blissfully asleep amongst all the chaos.
You two learned the hard way about 6 months ago, to keep everyone strapped in until you were ready to go. Rami was on twin patrol, and you would handle the stroller and wear the baby.
You climb into the van and get the twins out, they had their instructions to stand next to the van, and hold hands. Next came the toddler who was promptly situated in the stroller, and lastly the baby that couldn’t be bothered to wake up, while being strapped into the carrier, grabbing his blanket to cover his tiny body.
Rami took the twins ahead, to go get everyone’s tickets, while you got the two youngest taken care of.
You could hear your twins Oooohing and Ahhhhing at the entrance already, and you smiled sweetly, knowing that this was going to be a great decision.
Rami let the twins lead the way, as only certain parts of the zoo were open during the zoo lights.
Watching the kids faces light up in wonder and amazement at what they were seeing.
The lights were bright and fun, the lighted tunnels were a favorite.
You never would have thought that this would have ended up being your lives, but you wouldn’t have it any other way.
Rami only got upset once during the evening when a fan approached and asked for a photograph, to which Rami politely declined stating that he was out with his family. You almost stepped in and offered to allow him to take the picture, but he was firm in his ‘no’ because he didn’t want them to accidentally snap any pictures of the kids.
He would get so mad when someone would catch photos of him and the kids, and post them online.
He was always so adamant that he wanted the kids to be as far removed from his ‘celeb’ life as referred to it, as possible.
The kids knew their dad didn’t have a normal job, but they didn’t know exactly what he did, and he wanted it that way, until they got a little older.
He never allowed the kids to live a ‘jet set’ life, choosing to allow them to have as much consistency and normalcy as normal childhood allowed. The only time you all traveled was when Rami’s job took him away from home longer than a month, and that was because he always insisted that he hated being away for so long. He used to just travel back and forth, but that became incredibly taxing on him, after the first couple of times, it was decided that travelling as a family unit was for the best.
The kids still got to see various parts of the world, and he always made it a learning adventure. Learning about different cultures, food, history, and languages.
The adventure at the zoo was only supposed to take somewhere between 60-90 minutes, but of course, the twins and their never ending curiosity made the whole evening end up lasting about two and a half hours. By the time you were all heading back to the car all the kids were definitely exhausted and ready for bed.
You barely made it out of the parking lot of the zoo and all four kids were out cold.
You and Rami just smiled at each other, and high-fived, another successful family adventure for the books.

innovation realme C12 on the 26 th October, 2020. Stay with us to read the full review of realme C12
with its price in Bangladesh.
realme C12: Review of Key Features
Massive 6,000 mAh Battery
What makes realme C12 out-win the pricier competitors is its staggering battery power. realme shook
the world by offering an incredible 6000 mAh battery in its latest C12 Smartphone. It would be certainly
helpful for the users who would like to use this gadget for participating online classes/virtual meetings,
watching full movies/ TV series, playing high definition virtual games, doing social media lives, or many
more things.
More specifically, on a full charge, the realme C12's 6000mAh battery can support call time for 46 hours,
or PUBG gaming for about 10 hours, or YouTube video streaming for 28 hours, or music play for 60
hours. What is more? realme C12 promises about 57 days of standby support.
It often happens that the unused apps drain the battery of phones. Thanks to realme for providing C12
with the 'Quick App Freeze' app that assists in preserving battery life by closing with idle apps after
crossing the pre-specified time boundary. Furthermore, realme C12 is blessed with the 'Screen battery
optimization' feature that can slightly downgrade the resolution and display effects with the purpose to
extend the battery strength.
The box includes a 10W charger that supports reverse charging. On the moment of necessity, you can
utilize this phone as a power bank to charge up other phones via USB cables. What else you need?
Superb Nightscape AI Cameras
Nowadays, most of the consumers bear high expectation on the camera section while choosing any
Smartphone. The realme phones come with smart camera configuration and the latest C12 keeps up
this tradition. In this realme Smartphone, you get a triple AI rear camera setup including a 13MP
primary rear sensor, 2MP B&W and 2MP macro lens. On the front side, there is a 5MP selfie camera.
Its 13MP prime rear sensor featuring f/2.2 aperture can take decent photos under ample light
conditions. However, using the provided NightScape mode, you can improve the quality of photos
captured in low light situations. Moreover, this prime camera is bestowed with a 4X zooming capacity
that facilitates in taking lucid shots from long distance. It is a blessing for the amateur photographers.
The 2MP black-and-white portrait lens with f/2.4 aperture is capable of providing higher exposure while
detecting the edges of main subject correctly. This sensor also makes out brilliant contrast between the light and dark colors. And its 2MP macro lens bearing f/2.4 aperture aims to capture clear photos of tiny
objects. This 4cm sensor can cherish your desire for macro photography.
While taking snaps with rear camera series, you can apply the wonderful photographic features, such as
Portrait, Beauty, Expert, filter, HDR, Slo-mo, panoramic view, Time-lapse, etc. Speaking of the overall
image quality, the realme C12 does a great job considering its price range.
Now turning to the front screen of realme C12, you would find a 5MP selfie camera featuring f/2.4
aperture and 3p lens. This sensor takes attractive photos in adequate light conditions. The provided
creative photography functions including Portrait, Beauty, filter, panoramic view, Timelapse and HDR
would facilitate you in capturing versatile photos.

phone's video shooting option is enriched with a bunch of handy functions like panorama mode, HDR,
time-laps, etc. If you have a passion for video-graphy, realme C12 can certainly help you!
Elegant Slick Design
The realme C12 bears a 6.5-inch LCD multi-touch screen featuring an HD plus display with 1600-by-720-
Pixel of Resolution capacity. Its fantastic mini-drop design with an amazing 88.7% screen-to-body ratio
would blow up your mind. This wide screen can be prolific while doing professional works, watching
media or playing games. C12's display is protected by the Corning Gorila Glass that can save the screen
from accidental scratches.
realme claims that C12 offers about 420cd/m2 typical brightness at maximum. Certainly, this is good
news for those people who stay outdoor long hours of the day and expect great sunlight visibility. Unlike
other phones, the realme C12 lacks any camera bump that not only reflects its design efficiency; but also
makes this phone highly compatible for rough use in everyday life.
The realme C12 will captivate you with its elegant geometric gradient design. On the rear panel, it
presents the magnificent visual effects of diverse color-shades, and angle of lines induced by a creative
trapezoid divider. The realme C12 has a fingerprint sensor on its back panel. This phone is available in
two fascinating colors: Coral Red and Marine Blue.
Reliable Performance with Terrific Speed
The realme C12 is equipped with a 64-bit octa-core processor built with Cortex A53 cortex architecture.
This CPU sports the MediaTek Helio G35 12nm Soc combined with the PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The Helio
G35 is a gaming friendly chipset that assures an amazing combination of speed and efficiency. With the
utmost clock-speed of 2.3 GHz, realme C12's processor can deliver stunning performance while
operating diverse apps and running the latest gaming software. This phone is programmed with the
realme UI on top of Android 10 OS that runs fluently in day to day operations.
The realme C12 packs a LPDDR4X RAM of 3GB capacity. By virtue of its standard RAM power, C12's
graphics performance can be boosted up by 20 percents. In C12, about 32 GB of internal storage is
provided that is quite enough for regular applications. However, if you require much storage, insert an
external memory card up to 256 GB capacity.
The realme C12 can support dual nano SIM cards with a microSD card. Here you also get a 3.5mm
Headset Jack and Micro-USB. This Smartphone has all the essential sensors including Fingerprint sensor,
Light Sensor, Magnetic induction Sensor, Proximity Sensor, and Acceleration Sensor. Its navigation
system includes GPS/Beidou/Glonass.
realme C12 Price in Bangladesh
The price of realme C12 is only BDT 10,990 in Bangladesh. However, the price may vary depending upon
circumstances.
Verdict
The realme C12 presents a proficient combination of software and hardware. Here you get a 6.5-inch
HD+ display, 6000 mAh huge battery, 3GB RAM, 32 GB internal storage, triple AI Nightscape camera and
the Helio G35 gaming processor. Considering the price-range realme C12 packs exciting features. If you
are on the search of the best Smartphone under 11000, don't miss realme C12!

The Benefits of Being My Man (or: Tay talks too much about Mary Kate’s vocal abilities)
You guys, I know I’ve posted about this before on my other blogs, but Mary Kate Wiles is one of the strongest singers I’ve ever heard in my entire life, and The Benefits of Being My Man deserves more views than it has (I, personally, have watched it about twenty times and counting because I’m obsessed and it’s how I get to listen to it until my iTunes gets fixed so I can buy the song).
Now, I’m not a vocal coach, nor a music expert by any means, but this song was written so flawlessly by Dylan Glatthorn and was written, in more ways than one, specifically for Mary Kate. Yes, we know it’s for Vivian, and Mary Kate plays the songbird herself, but it’s more than that; the two mesh so well together. Dylan knows what Mary Kate is capable of, and he writes things that he knows she will kill and add her own vocal spin on.
For one: the breathy lounge songstress. Mary Kate nails it on the head, just as she did with A Change of Scene, which is also hard to sing if you don’t have the register (looking at my own vocal chords). This song is a great example of something that would be pulled straight out of the 40’s, which is exactly what’s happening. The lyrics mirror that of any great lounge song belted out by the likes of Alice Faye or Debbie Reynolds.
Two: Breath support. Mary Kate has mentioned herself that TBOBMM has been one of the most difficult songs she’s had to perform, and I can attest to that while dancing around like an idiot and trying to sing this song. You definitely have to sneak a few breaths in here or there, but Mary Kate doesn’t. She delivers her lines so well, and with such ease that it’s simultaneously admirable and enviable, of Barbra Streisand circa Don’t Rain on My Parade levels.
Three: Belt. There’s nothing I love more than a good belt. Well, one thing: a properly supported belt. We have singers nowadays that try their hardest, god bless, but they go about it all wrong and it sounds akin to a scream rather something to be left impressed with. Mary Kate is so ridiculously talented, and she effortlessly pulls off a few belts in this song (and properly supported, might I add.)
Four: Diction. This is one of my favorite qualities about Mary Kate, and this transfers to her acting as well. It makes her so present, and that’s such a great thing to do while you’re acting. Some force it, but it’s so natural to Mary Kate’s way of speech. With characters like Vivian Nightingale, among others set in the 40’s, diction is key, and Mary Kate always brings it to the table. My favorite bit in the song is the line “But not too suave//it’s my spotlight, doll” because of the way it’s delivered.
I’ll also talk about this from the standpoint of an aspiring director: this video is shot SO gorgeously. Shipwrecked and Joe really put a lot of thought into this shoot, adding multiple camera angles where Change of Scene’s music video had Chris’s camera and Mary Kate’s. The addition of props was wonderful as well, and Sean and Sinead deserve credits for their work (as well as the cigarette hand, whom of which is unknown) ;) The glove bit, which someone from the lovely Shipwrecked blog has informed me was from the brilliantly chaotic mind of Mr. Stribblesticks, was an EXCELLENT and HILARIOUS addition. also the costuming, Vivian is back in her signature red dress (I know you can’t tell because of the black-and-White, but that dress is a bright red) for continuity. The lighting was spectacular, giving warmth to not only Mary Kate, but Dante as well.
All-in-all, this is an incredibly well-produced music video by the brilliant minds of Shipwrecked Comedy (though name a video from Shipwrecked that ISNT incredibly well-produced, I won’t wait because the answer is there are none) and I will NOT stop talking about it until you, your mom, your partner, and your dinner party guests watch it and get it to the views that it deserves.

A love-letter to rp
So! I’ve reached 500 followers today, which is absolutely insane!
Tumblr media
I wanted to write something on the topic of the hp rp community for a while, but never really had the time/emotional capacity, and I don’t have much of it today either, but it’s a well enough opportunity to do it anyway. It’s gonna be a little sappy and very personal, but I’m someone who thinks a lot about their own mind and this is where it got me. Also it’s TMI-tuesday, so buckle up!
I am still fairly new to this community, started in /checks profile/ April. (I could have sworn it was longer). I don’t know a lot of people, though I’m slowly expanding the list of people I follow and get in contact with and there are a lot of amazing creators here to be added. So many brilliant writers, impressive actors, actual shapeshifters... It can be intimidating. It definitely was for me. I saw you guys supporting and celebrating each other and I really wanted to be a part of that, because there are literally no limits or bars here that you need to meet. You don’t have a uniform? Casual clothes it is, then! You don’t have a wig? Fuck it, what is canon hair anyways? Got no binder? Who cares? You are still a valid and included member of this community and that’s mindblowingly beautiful to me, who’s seen the competitive sides of cosplay in various forms.
I’ve always admired creative people. People with a passion. I don’t care about the value of a production, I want to see the spark in your eyes when you talk about it! I want to see how much you enjoy what you’re doing! And boy, do you guys deliver!
This goes for me, too. I love to create. My mind is spinning stories and making up scenarios 24/7 and I like that about myself. The problem is getting it out. I have a history in creative outlets, including acting on stage in amateur productions, writing wholeass plays for those productions, writing fanfictions, shooting videos. All of these are great and fullfilling in one way or another, but there’s always a downside.
Acting in groups means compromising. Right now, it also means traveling a lot for rehearsals in a different city. It’s expensive and draining. Sadly. Writing for these groups ended up being a chore, because my love for writing was overshadowed by the task when it came to plays on topics I wasn’t invested in. Writing fanfictions is easily the most ungrateful fanwork, with minimal recognition and when you feel like no one is reading what you write, you start asking yourself why you even bother? I also lack the stamina to write the full length fanfictions my mind comes up with. I’m not a native english speaker and will never be as good as the writers that are and that discourages me. More to that later. Shooting videos and pictures was the best outlet so far. I got to work on more stuff just for me, stuff I like doing and that made me happy. But it’s also hard to shoot a video and act in front of the camera at the same time. And bigger projects require a lot of planning and scheduling and when all your friends literally live at the other side of the country or in different countries. I don’t want to plan, I just want to create. I want to portal to friends, I want them to magically have time, I want some time on my own -which I literally never have- and I want to be able to control my camera x-men style, with the power of my thoughts only.
All of that is obviously never going to happen, this is why I love this form of creativity here so much. I don’t have to write down every single thing for an online. I don’t have to write down shorter threads that I’m doing on my own. I don’t need a shit-ton of planning, I just get into costume whenever I have the time, whenever it suits my schedule, and then I create! Absolutely mind-blowing!
I pay a lot of attention to details. Backgrounds, costumes, I’m a sucker for the little things that in the end, half of you don’t even notice. And I want things to be perfect. I have this really high standard for literally everything I do, that doesn’t count for anyone else, just for me. I need to know that I gave something my best shot and with every other creative outlet before, I didn’t feel like I did/do them justice. I always feel like it’s not good enough or I could have put more effort into it, I constantly strugge to meet my own expectations. (I want to stress that this does in no way go for others. I don’t judge based on “quality”, I don’t judge based on ressources. I’m not trying to “raise the bar” -which I’ve been told in tags that I do-, the only person who needs to impress me, is me. Anybody else: If you love what you’re doing, that’s absolutely enough and I love you for doing it!)
Anyway: Here, it’s easier. The limitations to this format give me a different goal. I don’t have to think about different camera angles, filling time with beauty shots, camera movement, because those don’t exist here. I don’t have to worry about correct pronounciation or my accent, because they don’t exist here. I can’t compare myself to people coming up with the most extravagant phrases and vocabulary that’s just far enough from day to day language for me to know it but not think of it myself when writing narration, because most narration is done visually here! Emotions, inner struggle, everything translates via acting only and I’m absolutely loving it!
So thank you for this community. Thank you for this opportunity. Thank you for including me. The interactions and feedback here mean the world to me and I have so much planned that I can’t wait to get to once my offline-life lets me. Collaborations with people I’ve grown not only to admire but genuinely love. Special shout-out to @softsiriusblack and @the-moon-and-stars-my-love, who put up with literally all my angsty bullshit and have been nothing but kind and supportive.
I’m still anxious every time I dm someone about literally any kind of collab. I’m still incredibly nervous every time I send someone a script. I’m still awfully scared whenever I post any content, but I’m getting there and the soft landing within this community that follows after every tiny or huge leap of faith, is a blessing.
Thank you.
One more thing, that’s less related to the hp rp community itself: This is the first time I added they/them pronouns to any online bio. I always only went for she/her, which is still fine, I guess, but I’ve been struggling with gender a lot lately, trying to know myself better and I thought: Where if not in a majorly lgbtq+ community on tumblr, just to kind of “try it on”. And it feels pretty incredible that you all immediately used it. Because it feels kinda nice.
So, another thank you for that <3
