Um Pokemon brainrot came back for the 7299292th time. Lloyd edition
Insane person ramblings below cut^_^
I think there are two major routes you can take when attempting to Pokemonize Lloyd. The first is just making him Colress. They are functionally the same character- similar interests, motivations, and morals. AKA generic mad scientist who wishes to create "the strongest machine/weapon/i dont even know", who doesn't care about the violence or sacrifice, arguably works for the wrong side, and remains friendly to the main characters anyway. Like, there genuinely is not much to expand upon there. Just pop out Colress and snap Lloyd into his place and there you go I guess.
(BTW Colress was one of the first characters I was ever deeply obsessed with as a kid. This does not mean anything)
The second route is trying to replace Lloyd's interests with machines into something canon typical that also reflects his role in the series. Unsubtle way of looking you in the eyes and telling you I want him to be a Pokemon Regional Professor so bad because I said so.
(Colress was my original but the chokehold Professor Sycamore has had on me for over a year now......I am not biased at all umm)
While a Pokemon Professor is probably a littleee too goody two shoes and social for Lloyd, it is The role that always implies extreme amounts of research in some dedicated niche. Lloyd can exclusively research man-made/object inspired Pokemon or something! Close enough to robots. Either way, the whole plot of the game is that the Professor chooses a small batch of kids, gives them a strong Pokemon to start off, and then tells them to go collect data, while the kids usually end up changing the world instead. Lloyd's whole role in Code Geass is he gives a strong weapon to Suzaku in exchange for him collecting data, and then Suzaku goes and does fuck whatever with it until the planet is fixed I don't know. Literally the same! And honestly, we just deserve a Pokemon Professor who is a bit of an unlikeable freak.
I do not think Lloyd would care about battling much and I do not think he really cares about Pokemon themselves a whole lot either! But their abilities and possibilities would probably interest him similarly to how he is invested in Knightmares. And even if he acts like he doesn't care, he definitely has a little litter of Aron sleeping in his house.
Anyway code geass pokemon crossover is NEVER going to happen but I think it is silly. There an an Alcremie sitting on his table

"Celebrity Justice:" An Analysis/Interpretation of the Media and how it relates to the Justice System in the Hoenn Region and perhaps the Pokemon World more broadly
This is something I've had in place in my worldbuilding for a very long time, so the analysis that's going to follow is what mostly applies to my fic series, The Dead Sea Trilogy, but what I have built in my world is rooted in things we see happening in the games, the anime, the manga, etc etc etc.
I have had this ongoing hypothesis that justice and law enforcement in the Hoenn region, and also Pokemon more broadly, is actually extremely reliant on public image.
For starters let's just mention that justice and law enforcement in the Pokemon world seems very similar to how it is in superhero stories. The police are present, in theory, and take care of the mundane things. We see characters like Colress and Ghetsis get arrested in the anime, Looker very explicitly works for the International Police, Officer Jenny exists. The police are very much a thing.
And yet, like in superhero stories, there are bigger fish to fry that the police need assistance with. This is when the bigger heroes ten year old kids and people like the Elite Four or Champion come in. From the manga we know that being a Dex Holder is something of a status position. The Elite Four, Gym Leaders, and Champions seem to be capable of some level of law enforcement and are often seen as the protectors of their respective cities. In this sense, the Pokemon World also becomes like the Wild West: Gym Leaders and the Champions are the sheriffs of their individual towns, and whatever the sheriff says is law. Law enforcement can then slightly vary town to town depending on what the Gym Leader permits. (Hi Giovanni and other criminal gym leaders/elite four members).
The Pokemon World is not keen on killing and physical violence. Sure it happens in the manga, but almost nowhere else do we ever see humans attacking one another. Everything is sorted out by proxy of a Pokemon battle, which for the sake of this conversation I’m going to be referring to as dueling. The Pokemon World has an established vigilante justice system combined with mundane law enforcement, also reinforced by a pretty intricate and universally respected dueling system. Dueling was a bigger thing historically that settled interpersonal or even larger disputes, and we see that actively being applied in all Pokemon media, but especially in the games.
If we take the conceit of the games seriously and accept the series of events not at face value for what they are: methods of the game that are designed to empower the player and help them progress, and instead consider why, culturally, even the biggest, baddest supervillains pretty easily back off once you defeat them in battle, a couple really interesting possibilities emerge. The first is of course evidence pointing to a dueling system that is so universally accepted that not even the worst criminals will violate the laws of a match. If you lose, you step aside. Everyone respects this social contract and when it’s broken (in people like Ghetsis) it can really demonstrate who is the worst of the worst. Yeah you tried to take over the world,we’ve all been there, but then you refused to step down after a match? Majority of the biggest crime leaders in the world wouldnt even think of doing that. Giovanni’s defeat sends all of Team Rocket into shame and hiding. Pokemon battling is actually a really big deal. It’s a hobby, yes, people do it for fun and friendship, but it is also a way to settle mundane disputes like someone stealing someone else’s lunch money and also to take down the biggest criminal organizations in the world. This then makes it very clear as to why Gym Leaders, the Elite Four, the Champions, and a couple of really powerful ten year olds are able to casually enforce justice. They have a lot of bargaining sway in the world because their battling skills are unrivaled. And in a world where majority of conflicts are settled by duels, this gives them an incredible amount of social and political power.
This however also is why it makes complete sense that not everyone is as good at it as you are. Most people are just battling their friends for fun or trying to get back at their bullies for stealing their lunch money. The everyday person may only have one or two gym badges they tried to get for fun, own a handful of local low-level Pokemon (remember, not everyone is traveling the world to get badges like you are), and may not even know all the type match ups. Not every town even has a gym. The player character is always depicted to have an unnatural talent, and they are able to keep up in the biggest justice enforcement system in the world. This has some interesting implications for how leveling and strength works in the "actual" Pokemon world then, as it certainly couldn't be a numbered thing, and that's a part of it i'm still actively trying to work out in my mind.
Alright, so now let's get into how this relates to Hoenn more specifically.
Because the dueling system is so universal it also then actually makes the law enforcement system incredibly localized, as justice will often be determined by who has the biggest Pokemon. This makes the justice system in every region slightly unique. And from what we have observed in the anime, manga, and games, I have a theory that Hoenn's justice and dueling system is a little bit more depending on public perception than most.
What do I mean by this??
I mean how Team Magma and Team Aqua are allowed to exist. Yes the dueling system implies that criminal teams can exist just because they're strong. But I mean the way in which Team Magma and Team Aqua are allowed to exist. They seem to be a defining feature of the region, as synonymous to the image of Hoenn as McDonald's is to the United States. If you are going to travel to the Hoenn region, you are going to see some nonsense Team Aqua and Team Magma are getting up to.
And the International Police, which exists, has not been allowed to or able to step in, despite how clear and obvious Team Aqua and Team Magma are about each of their goals. Moreso, I think, than other evil teams. There are likely laws and regulations about when and how Interpol is allowed to step in. But they clearly have not been allowed to intervene in Hoenn, and I have some suspicions as to why.
Archie and Maxie, as well as other evil leaders, are celebrities on par with the Elite Four and Champions. They may not be part of the League, but only the League seems to be allowed to handle them. And in Hoenn, there is evidence that celebrity status puts you on another level of untouchable that, when combined with the dueling system already in place, strongly discourages local governments and even the International Police from stepping in unless someone's life is in danger.
Hoenn was the first Pokemon region to have any real, strong emphasis on the presence of the news and media. Gabi and Ty were introduced as fun and interesting recurring characters you can answer silly questions for throughout your playthrough and then see your answers appear in real-time on the TV. You can get updates on outbreaks of Pokemon in the region, tips for battling, and other local and constantly-changing events in the region by checking any one of the various TVs in peoples homes. You see how the world changes around you by interacting with the news in Hoenn again and again throughout the games. It is a subtle, but actually really key thing that makes the region of Hoenn seem like a real, living place that carries on whether or not you log on to play that day.
TV Mauville/Hoenn TV are a living, changing feature in the games and other media. Archie in Pokespe actually owns Hoenn TV and is therefore able to control what people see about Team Aqua, and run a lot of propaganda against Team Magma. The media is a thing used to control and publicize throughout the region.
Hoenn was the first region where Pokemon Contests were introduced, another way to gain very flashy fame and social status and yes, even make your way into the news with your beautiful and spectacular Pokemon. Think of celebrities like Lisia and Wallace.
Hoenn is the first time in the Pokemon games we see celebrities, and this makes me think their emphasis on them means that celebrity culture, the paparazzi, and media, is actually a really big deal in Hoenn.
Now, when you combine that with the fact that the Hoenn region is home to one of the biggest, most public and sensational disputes of all time, you can start to see why Team Magma and Team Aqua are allowed to do essentially whatever they want.
Team Aqua and Team Magma bring business to Hoenn. They probably even encourage tourism as people flood in from other regions hoping to catch a glimpse of whatever insane thing they're doing that week. News stations and especially tabloids make money off running features on them. Evidence and theories on Archie and Maxie's past. Maxie paying people off to run good press. Team Aqua making headlines for well, being pirates. Two old friends turned bitter rivals now warring across the entire region over some mysterious dispute? Man, what a scoop!
So it's not necessarily that the police can't do anything about them. It's that the rest of Hoenn doesn't want them to.
And so that's why, even when things go to shit, they are held responsible for their actions... somewhat. But in the case of my fic, the fallout is also highly publicized. And then of course all the sensation around Archie and Maxie becoming A Thing. Over the course of their very public dispute, they became central to the national identity of Hoenn, as American as baseball and bald eagles. As Hoennian as Wingull and... water.
Public image plays a role in how they are brought to justice. If they are just thrown in jail with the International Police, when then, there's nothing left to report about! And this has been a big thing in Hoenn for years! We can't just drop it! We're still selling shirts about it!
What I'm saying is I think, in the Pokemon World, and in Hoenn especially, people kind of know that organized crime... helps.. the economy and the social system around them, and so they permit it to exist, even after these criminals are busted. Combine that with the lack of physical violence, the dueling system, and a justice system that's a combination of the wild west and vigilantes, and well my friend, you've got yourself a case of some real Hoennian Celebrity Justice.

What's going on with ur beta au? i wanna know more :3
thank u sm for asking!! basically the au is based off of n's beta design(s) just for reference
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and here are my own references (expand to see my art and more of the au story, cw for abuse and violence mentioned)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
so the bulk of n's scarring, his missing eye and arm namely, were done by ghetsis with hydreigon. ghetsis is/was more overt with his abuse in this au, and wasn't afraid of almost killing n as a kid just to make a point to him. n was pretty young when he was attacked by hydreigon
the attack also indirectly taught n that there was no need for charisma in plasma's plan to liberate pokemon. if he could just liberate by force, why bother with any of the niceties and take longer to get the same result? and maybe as time went on he lost his original vision, it became less about "saving innocent pokemon" and more about "ending evil humans" if that makes sense
not super important but colress is the one to make n's prosthetic arm before he leaves the castle. he's kinda the same in this au, just a neutral scientist, but we might do more with him later idk
n still goes off to wander unova like usual, but he doesn't beat around the bush when it comes to his plasma affiliation and plans. his journey is finding zekrom, then taking it to the league to enact the takeover. he still runs into hilbert and hilda a few times. it's more like the manga than the games
in this au hilbert is more of a skittish pacifist, he's not really chasing after the pokemon league, just out on his own to escape a shitty home situation. he ends up facing off against n by being in the wrong place in the wrong time and it's just about the last thing he wants to do. but reshiram picked him and he has to fight this battle
n's plan fails of course. he gets arrested and ghetsis vanishes. hilbert was badly injured, and so was alder (who came to help hilbert, alongside the e4), and that combined with a lot of bystander pokemon and humans being injured by the takeover meant n was supposed to get a long, maybe lifetime sentence to prison
the only reason he ends up not being imprisoned for the rest of his life is because alder steps in. he sort of pities n, and he believes in rehabilitation over incarceration. he knows n never got a real chance at a good life, he was sort of doomed from the start. he strikes a deal with the court that states he has two years to prove n is capable of being a good person (through good behavior and a change of attitude towards humans; he doesn't have to love humans but if he could stop wishing an apocalypse on them that'd be good) or else they can put him back in prison
a lot of what my partner and i have covered in the au is based around n's time with alder and his family (drayden, iris, benga) and his rehabilitation process. a lot of it is still kind of ambigious/in the works. hopefully i'll post more art of it in the future and expand on it. thanks again for asking :]

The Emerald Crown
Tumblr media
A seraph-class solar dragon. Colossal to the point of dwarfing The Storm Incarnate, he can be considered his antithesis in all ways.
Very little is known about The Emerald Crown, but there is some evidence to suggest that he was worshipped at some point in the past. Aside from murals and a few artefacts, very little has survived to prove his worshippers once existed.
Extremely volatile and prone to violence, it is believed that the scarring over his eye was caused by a past altercation with another dragon.
He commands light, and some speculate that a few kingdoms razed by Reshiram was instead his handiwork. The Emerald Crown's reasons for apparently doing so, however, remains unknown.
When adopting a human disguise, he goes by the name of "Ghetsis Harmonia". He can sway entire crowds with the charisma he wields, but there is a strong belief that his goals are far from benevolent. . .
I used Ghetsis’ Black and White outfit for inspiration here. I thought it fitting, especially since I'm going with a “light is not good, dark is not evil” contrast between dragon!Ghetsis and dragon!Colress. I also took some inspiration from peacocks with the feathers.
Thoughts? :)

A Vision in the Mirror Masterpost (OOC)
Taking the same concept from my old masterpost, this one will start out with a few FAQs and follow with a plot summary of what's going on under the cut, to keep up easily! Tags for this arc include #a vision in the mirror and for previous leadup posts, #vision prelude. Posts will also be tagged with appropriate stakes for the scene/consequences of what's going on, but on average, stuff is high stakes.
What should I know going in?
Similar to my last high stakes arc, this arc will cover some sensitive topics (all of which will be tagged alongside the arc tag and stakes)! Among them are mental health topics like anxiety, paranoia, depression, suicidality and self-injury, happenings like impersonation, defamation/blackmail, violence/death, fire (natural disaster), and general philosophizing in the "are humans and Pokémon actually equal" direction. A lot of these will largely only be alluded to on here, but better safe than sorry! Feel free to block the tag if it's not for you, I'll probably have a few lower-stakes posts somewhere in there (or maybe some ask games to break stuff up).
Also, this time, not everything is going to be RP'd live on-blog. If you're interested in seeing the behind-the-scenes you're welcome to the planning server (I can shoot you a link), but it'll be a bit heavier. The reason I'm doing this is both to reduce the intensity here, and to not flood everyone's dashboards. I'll still make summary posts of what's going on and am happy to answer asks about that! And of course, Vanilla or Cross will still be liveblogging everything crucial.
How can I participate?
Honestly, just send asks! Reblog stuff! This is pretty open, though if you'd like to be involved in anything in-person, DM me so I can add you to the planning server. I'd love to hear anyone's ideas along the way!
Know also that you can be as involved as you want in this. Some parts of this event will have wider-ranging consequences (city-wide, tops) but also, I absolutely don't expect people to get involved in that unless they want to! (If you do decide to dash-commentary things, please tag it with the arc tag so I can see it? Pretty please? And also use the appropriate stakes tags?)
Who's important in this?
(Not listing my friends' blogs in this, though they're welcome to reblog!)
Vanilla: Vanilla (26, any) is the guy on the blog, a Hisuian Zorua hybrid, and probably a bit well-known for his own good at the moment. They've currently just finished their Unovan Gym Challenge (badge-gathering), and are trying to investigate what has caused their impersonation across several situations.
Colress: Colress (39, he/him) is back from wherever he was, and certainly not better than ever. His aims are unclear, but Vanilla has been keeping tabs on him via a pager gifted by Cheri, and holds some key information from his laptop. He currently has expressed intentions to reclaim his Klinklang from Rune.
Vision: A strange being (?, ??/??) who seems to be impersonating Vanilla perfectly. Believed to be tied to Colress, but in what way? Has a soft spot for Wolfgang, and has met with Cheri and Vanilla's parents.
Cross: Vanilla's Rotom, Cross (5, she/her), is a sweet, non-battling Pokémon whose main goal is Vanilla's safety. While she's normally sworn to secrecy, she'll break that in the name of saving her "boss". She's also quite nervous, pzzt.
Wolfgang: Wolfgang, or Wolfy (27, he/him) is a Hisuian Zoroark, Vanilla's half-sibling, and the father of four adorable Zorua kits with his mate, Mozart. He's currently serving as the interim leader of the Lostlorn Zoroark pack, but he's in frequent contact with Vanilla thanks to the power of cheap cell phones.
Cobalion: One of the Swords of Justice, Cobalion (many centuries, they/he) is convinced Vanilla will one day be a worthy chosen for their aims. As it is, however, they've left Vanilla to find her own answers. Unless the answers involve using the cool sword they've been gifted, in which case Cobalion is all in.
Cheri: Cheri (28, she/her) is the perpetual thorn in Vanilla's side, who also happens to be their recent ex and current "rival" after selling them out to Colress (and apologizing endlessly after the fact). A strong battler, she gifted Vanilla Chibi (formerly Fluffybutt) the Shiny Vanilluxe, and has expressed every intention of protecting Vanilla. As much as Vanilla insists he's really fine without the help.
Aspear: Aspear (28, he/him) is Cheri's twin, also a "rival" of Vanilla's, and perfectly happy to stay out of this situation, thank you.
What's the plot so far?
(Plot kept under the readmore for previously mentioned potentially triggering content.)
Prelude: After a battle with Cheri, Vanilla was bestowed with a pager Cheri had previously used to keep contact with Colress. Over the past few months, they've heard Colress speaking from the pager, but, frustratingly, nothing crucial. Lately, though, they've been hearing strange noises much like their own voice...
These strange noises seem corroborated by Wolfgang claiming to have seen somebody who looks, speaks, and even smells exactly like Vanilla, and by Cheri's own claims that she has talked to Vanilla's doppelganger.
At the same time, Colress has begun taking action, reaching out to Rune to demand the return of his Klinklang, to which he received a solid refusal. And at the same time, the Swords of Justice seem on edge...
Main Arc: Vanilla, with his increasing concern about being impersonated, begins to lower contact with others, and eventually, decides to return to their adoptive parents' home to lay low. When she finally returns, though, she learns that Maamaa, who was in her parent's care, was taken by her copycat to some unknown location. In order to figure out where, Vanilla tries working out who they're dealing with, before finally settling on making themselves distinguishable from the copy when in-person (fun fact for the summary people: what they settled on was 'way too much body spray'). This doesn't solve their problem though, and so they finally decide to try and make contact with Colress and this mystery person via Cheri's pager.
On the other side of things, we learn that this person's name is Vision, that she seems to have some sort of high title... and that she intends to be the one to respond to Vanilla's message, it seems. But what will come of that...?
[To be continued!]

Cw for death and violence.
Some Blur/Blight ideas that I'm not sure I want to be part of its canon yet, but are nice enough that I don't mind expanding upon them;
Zinzolin's death after the Relic Castle arc. During this arc, Cheren and Grimsley's Gorebyss and Huntail are left in Undella Town temporarily, so they've been playing with the local Jellicent and Frillish that swarmed the Abyssal Ruins. After the ghosts are dealt with and the castle starts sinking into the ground once more, Zinzolin laments that the second coming of The Heart was a failure- but he doesn't fret, and thinks about The False Prophet and his legacy, and how instead, he will nurture the next members of The Order of The Heart to do the same once The Heart has been reborn once more. However, as he strolls in the waters of Undella Bay, the Frillish drag him to the ocean, and the Jellicent bring him deeper and deeper into the crumbling temple. Both of the Slaters' Huntail and Gorebyss eat him as he drowns, and once their trainers return to fetch them from the beach, Grimsley wonders why Cheren's Gorebyss is pinker than usual.
Cheren Slater dies only fifteen years after BW2. Following his heartless condition and eternal coldness, he lives out the rest of his life working for the league, improving the trainer school, nurturing the next generation of trainers, up until his early death. Another thing about his death is that, post-Relic Castle, he goes to the league often to visit its prisoner Nikolai Colress, who also serves as his personal doctor as he's literally the only one who knows what's going on with him. During one of these visits, Nikolai had asked him to put his Beheeyem, also immortal like him, to eternal rest via his Relic Song; though Beheeyem refused. Cheren opted to wait until both Nikolai and Beheeyem were ready to die until he sang to them, as his song was the only thing that could end their immortal lives. However, Nikolai didn't anticipate Cheren's death, and is left to wander the world once more until The Heart was reborn one way or another.

Yandere Jasmine Headcanons.
Warning: Normal Yandere stuff and I don't condone anything that I write about. Some stuff I'm okay with but that's sort of a personal thing and up to the person themselves to decide.
“ We were getting so close..but..Seeing how you've been avoiding me made me sad. It must be wonderful having all the time in the world to spend with others but not the one the actually cares for you. It's truly a pity you don't see that.”
Tumblr media
People need to understand something about Jasmine, something that everyone and their mother has been getting wrong for so long. And that fact is that Jasmine is never to be under estimated on just how strong she really is.
Sure people take one look at her quiet demeanour, how polite and honest and just how utterly genuinely warm her smile is and they write her off as harmless. But all of you missed something. She’s the only female Steel-Type Specialist in the pokemon world.
From the calculating Colress, the charismatic Steven Stone, to the Honorable Wikstrom. All of them chose the steel type to represent themselves and all are formidable and just as strong as their pokemon...so where does Jasmine fit into all of this?
A sword hidden in silk, a iron hand hidden in a velvet glove. On the outside did those around her see the soft cute nervousness that wafted off of her that hid that iron resolve from prying eyes. Everyone was under the assumption that she was safe, that she’d always be there to make you feel better. Yep, you even thought that yourself.
Jasmine starts as the Harmless type of yandere. Seeing your happy face, hearing your laugh and just being able to bask in your presence always fills this woman with so much warmth. She'll dutifully take care of all your needs. With Jasmine, it's not just enough to see that happy look on your face, she also needs to take care of your mind and soul. Making sure that all of your problems fade away to the back of your mind because they've already been solved.
Jasmine is easy to fall in love with, it really isn't. She's so soft for you and always has kind words to show you how much she loves you. Though she only tells you them in private, you've seen her face become so red as to put a tomato to shame as she attempts to stammer out calling you darling. She likes cooking for you. Be inviting you to her home for breakfast, to making you up lunchboxes or having you over for dinner. Jasmine also likes getting you gifts for you and your pokemon. Anything to make you happy. As long as you show her love and affection she'll never be nothing more then harmless. It's only if you reject her do things suddenly become...worse.
But that can change at the drop of a dime. Like a mask only she knew she was wearing, you’ve seen the light drain from her eyes when something got in her way. That souless look never stayed for long(blink and you miss it.) but it always looked so shocking.
If you reject this girl's love then you will find her Yandere traits to be that of Violence, Removal, and the Restraining type. Don't give her that look, you know that she's already done EVERYTHING in order to make you happy right? Her heart was never locked to you, she held it in her hands for you to take. And you just left it there and walked away. She was alright with you being with other people, even other girls. Jasmine is not jealous of them because she knows that in the end you'll choose her. Of course you will. It's the only way that made sense.
So how could you? How can you be so utterly heartless as to refuse the love of the only one that loves you-TRUELY loves you. The best case scenario is if you turned her down but weren't seeing someone or in love with someone else. How this is the best case is that the only one getting hurt will be you. She sees your rejection as not something you yourself wanted, but that the people in your life(Or the one that she decides is the culprit) is to blame. So she needs you to be out for awhile. If you are lucky you'll receive a 'love zap' from her Magnimite. If you really made her mad then in the moment you'll be smacked in the head by the floating steel type's heavy body.
If you were in love with someone else and told her this when you confessed, then they are dead. It's as simple as that. Lots of people underestimate her because her forward appearance is one of bright smiles and joy. However, behind all her sweetness is the cold emotionless machine that won't be stopped. She'll be able to convince the one you like to come with her as Jasmine is all smiles and friendliness. Which will be their downfall.
That's only if you reject her however. And why would you?

What is everyones favorite horror genres and who has an example of a particular horror movie they love? I’ve been pondering this question for a while and wanted to hear it from everyone themselves :)
OK, first of all, we’ve had a similar question last year, so I’ll leave a link to that too! Some info in this ask came straight from that one haha. Also, movie names are all puns or similar names here).
Anyways, here are your answers!:
Giovanni: Well... I'd say my favorite horror movie is “The Shiny”, from 1980. Usually I'm more into crime movies and down-to-earth plots, not monsters and ghosts and all that supernatural stuff... I like seeing actual people making others scared in somewhat realistic ways... And I like how in The Shiny you don't actually know if the ghosts are real or just the man's imagination... I really like that movie. I'd say my favorite horror genre is psychological horror!
Archie: Welp, my favorite horror genre is certainly monster movies! Specially weird monsters, like scientific experiments gone wrong, or natural abominations that no one knows where came from! I really like the “Monstrozedo” trilogy! Specially the second one, from 1978! It's awesome!
Maxie: I'm very much into paranormal horror! Specially ghost movies and haunted houses! But... not much into possession movies, to be honest... My favorite is “Polteageist”, from 1982! But there are many others I like, I really love that saga about the haunted doll too... Oh, and I also sorta like monster movies too!
Cyrus: I don't really care about movies. But if I had to choose something... I suppose... Anything that isn't gore... I can't stand blood and guts and all this. It makes me sick.
Ghetsis: I like all horror movies! But specially the ones with lots of graphic violence!!! I want to see blood! I want to see pain and suffering!!! I want to see extremely disturbing content and pain!!! Hahahahahaha! Oh, killer movies are also cool. What really matters is having people suffering on screen so that I CAN LAUGH AT THEM HAHAHAHAHA!!! I really like "Handsaw", from 2004.
Colress: I like oldish horror movies, like... from the 50's, 60's... I love the aesthetics of it! In fact, “Creature from the Lake of Rage”, from 1954 may as well be my favorite! I particualrly like monster and alien horror movies... Having a human kill other people is kinda boring... And having paranormal things happen doesn't really speak to me. But monsters and aliens? Oh, heck yeah!
N: I don't watch a lot of horror, because I'm... uh... I get scared easily. Specially with jumpscares. I prefer thrillers, like... Something that won't try to scare me on purpose but that can be exciting and make me nervous! I like that! I like being kinda nervous while watching but... being able to sleep at night after the movie is over ahaha!
Lysandre: Oh, no, darling, no. Horror is not for me. I get scared and sad and I end up crying! Not that the monsters are scary or that the blood bothers me... I'm fine with that! But you know, they are often so dark and the soundtrack is dissonant and weird and there are shouts and... oh! It's just usually ugly.
Lusamine: The most scary movie I've ever watched was an animation called “The Happy Kricketot”, from 2001... They said it was a children's movie... But it was... scary.... Maybe the worst genre is Children Horror then... Animations of happy Kricketots singing and dancind... they haunt my nightmares...
Guzma: Look, bro, I like Zombie horror movies! I like them movies that have lots of action and fighting and stuff, you know? People shootin' all around tryin' to survive the end of the world and such! So cool! One of my faves is “Train to Cerulean”, from 2016! Real good stuff! Awesome!
Piers: Nah, mate... Horror movies are usually pretty lame in my opinion. Their sole purpose is to scare people, but they never scare me! Like, stories are usually bad, characters are usually dumb, special effects are usually bad too... So like... whatev'r... To be honest, I'm not super into movies in general, but horror movies are usually lame.
Rose: Hm... I like crime movies! I don't usually watch a lot of horror, but... some horror movie about a serial killer for example or something like that could be actually cool! I don't know, I might try watching something!

On today's episode of "I Was Going To Do Things But. . ."
I rewrote the entirety of the song A Complete History Of The Soviet Union Through The Eyes Of A Humble Worker
To basically tell the story of Pokémon Black and White mostly from Plasma perspectives.
. . .so yeah.  I don’t know what else I did today, but that was on the list.
Also if you’ve never heard A Complete History Of The Soviet Union. . .highly recommend it lol its a great song.  Also here’s the instrumental version so you can sing along and judge my rhyme pacing
also forgive me if the cut is an asshole on the app as usual
I came to Unova to see my friends but what I saw instead broke my heart entrapping, abusing, forced breeding my father was right from the start
Pokémon of this world are crying but think what a world it would be if they’d separate from humans they can’t sate then there would be equality
I am the sage who arranges the grunts that will begin to steal your Pokémon they’re released so battles will be ceased free from its ball your beast give it its rights
Sometimes it seems that a person is fine their Pokémon are happy after all then we see that they just don’t get it they’re bound to them by their Pokéball
Could you just hear us out please? If you’re friends why keep them in these?
I am the King that oversees the team that continues to steal your Pokémon release my friends so their suffering ends you claim this cruelty is out of love?
We work so hard to free all of my friends but the gym leaders claim that we’re in the wrong But Team Plasma won’t fail! They’ll be free at a scale of the globe; we know that it won’t take long
Long live Plasma; end this game some friends cry, but they’re glad that we came
I am the grunt who will battle you so that you’ll have to give up your Pokémon beasts in your miasma now belong to Plasma you claim this cruelty is out of love?
I have no choice but to battle because it’s simply how the world works at this time we’ll fulfil our plans then free them from our hands you’re the ones who make us commit this crime
Long live Ghetsis; he cares too he wished this wasn’t what they had to do
I am the Sage who arranges the team I’d like to avoid violence, hear my speech At the end of your rope, I’ll smile as you lose hope when my–i mean plasma’s–plan’s complete
I am the Sage who brings my King the Orb that will be what will all of my work prove. The Dragon’s awoken! The Hero has spoken! And all opposition we will remove!
We shall rule forever more! This is what my plan’s been for!
I am the Hero who will lead this world so Pokémon will have a better place At my father’s call we will summon them all from deep in earth to in outer space!
We’ve worked so hard freeing all of my friends but out there I heard them say things so new Your battles are your bond? Your trainers–you are fond? Could I really not know what they’ve been through?
We’re both Heroes, is that true? I’ll prove my ideals to you!
But we battled. And I have lost instead. Were my ideals false? I’ve accepted my loss. . . . It seems to have messed with Father’s head. . .?
Good-for-nothing! Waste of space! Now this nuisance I’ll erase!
I am the Hero who takes down the Team, whose intent was to free Pokémon Ghetsis’ web of lies made that seem like their prize he has seen his demise and truth has won!
Ghetsis web of lies made that seem like their prize! He has seen his demise and truth has won! Truth has won! Truth has won!!
. . .
And now the castle’s down the Champion’s crowned our Pokémon came back around Battle Subway yes it will stay and trainers will keep their old ways N took his dragon to explore we’ve lost track of Ghetsis once more but now that Colress stands to lead us really we can stay. . . .
So our message we will revise and once again Plasma will rise prepare the Frigate we will fly threaten with ice from in the sky we shall revive the first Dragon we will not let Unova win our takeover will soon begin and we will rule the day!
[Game Over!]

In terms of heroic achievements which pokemon protagonist do you think accomplished the most/least?
I’m assuming you mean objectively, in terms of the player characters we see in the games, rather than my specific ‘verse, so I’m going to go just based on what we see in the games without applying any characterization. So that said, let’s just list out their heroic accomplishments, shall we?
RED / LEAF:
Forced Team Rocket, an organization equal to the mafia irl, to disband.
Defeated Green, who was acting like a power hungry twit, and took his place as Champion. I’m counting this because Green being so drunk on power would have made him a terrible Champion for Kanto.
ETHAN / LYRA:
Forced Neo Team Rocket to disband (again).
Defeated Lance, who was acting like a power hungry twit in a different way, and took his place as Champion. (i.e. Whereas Green crowed about being “THE MOST POWERFUL TRAINER IN THE WOOOOORLD!!!!111!1″, Lance was going around berating children and siccing his dragonite on unarmed trainers. Both were power hungry, but they just demonstrated this in different ways.)
BRENDAN / MAY:
Stopped Team Aqua/Magma’s various villainous activities all over the region, similar to Red/Leaf and Ethan/Lyra with Team Rocket, ultimately making both (depending on the version) teams disband.
Confronted the legendary pokémon (either Groudon, Kyogre, or both, possibly primal) and captured them in order to avert/end the apocalypse.
In ORAS, captured Mega Rayquaza, and then rode Mega Rayquaza into space in order to capture/defeat Deoxys and avert another apocalypse, this time via meteor.
DAWN / LUCAS:
Confronted Team Galactic’s terrorism head-on in numerous instances, similar to the other anti-Team examples above (but more extreme in this case when you remember what happened at the three lakes). This ultimately resulted in Team Galactic disbanding, especially when Cyrus was trapped in the Distortion World in Platinum.
Confronted the legendary pokémon (Dialga/Palkia/Giratina depending on the version) and defeated/captured them to stop Cyrus’ plan/avert the world’s destruction. Possibly also traveled to the Distortion World to do this.
WHITLEA (LEA) / BLAIR:
Fought through the Elite 4 at double speed in order to try and reach Alder before N did, though this endeavor ultimately failed.
Stormed N’s castle to face him / revive the legendary pokémon as the other Chosen Hero. This endeavor ended in success.
Fought Ghetsis after fighting N in order to end Team Plasma’s regime once and for all and restore the government of Unova back to what it was before N/Team Plasma took over.
Helped Looker track down the remaining Sages of Team Plasma so that they could be arrested and held accountable for their crimes.
ROSA / NATE:
Combated Neo Team Plasma’s criminal activities all over the Unova region, particularly since Lea/Blair had left this mess to be cleaned up in favor of hunting down N instead. Ultimately, this led to Team Plasma being disbanded again, once and for all this time.
Helped sort out the mess that Ghetsis and Colress were making with Reshiram/Zekrom being fused with Kyurem. This helped restore Unova back to its original state (i.e. not frozen)
Helped N confront Ghetsis.
SERENA / CALEM:
Combated Team Flare across the Kalos region, and ultimately stopped Lysandre’s mass genocide attempt by capturing/defeating the legendary pokémon he was going to use to power the ultimate weapon. Lysandre then killed himself(?). Team Flare was disbanded, but Malva is still at large for reasons unexplained.
Helped Looker stop Xerosic from forcing Emma (as Essentia) to commit petty crimes across Lumiose City. This culminated in Xerosic’s arrest.
SUN&MOON BOY / SUN&MOON GIRL:
Stopped Team Skull from being nuisances at various instances, and also rescued a yungoos they stole for the lulz. (As in, they stole it for the lulz. I can’t imagine why else they’d waste their time stealing a yungoos from a preschooler.) Ultimately forced Team Skull to disband. This is only arguably heroic, however, as Team Skull were never truly threatening, and they seem to be a bunch of severely impoverished teenagers led (kind of) by a severely emotionally unstable, potentially alcoholic abuse survivor. They were never actually helped, so ymmv on the heroism of just disbanding them and then leaving them to fend for themselves.
Helped Professor Kukui overthrow (at least partially) the religious oligarchical style of government Alola has operated under for centuries to create a League instead. “Helped” is used loosely here, however, as Kukui did pretty much all of the work himself, and all the Sun/Moon PC did was take the throne when the time was right.
Stormed Aether Paradise in order to rescue Lillie and Cosmog. Succeeded in rescuing Lillie, however, Cosmog was tortured and reduced to its second-stage evolution.
Traveled with Lillie to retrieve the second flute, and help Nebby (now a Cosmoem) evolve (into either Solgaleo or Lunala).
Traveled into Ultra Space to aid Lillie in confronting Lusamine. Battle Lusamine/Motherbeast while in Ultra Space in order to protect Lillie and stop her nonsense, even though tbh she wouldn’t be hurting anyone if she was just left alone in Ultra Space with the Nihilego like she wanted. So, again, YMMV, since the world wasn’t actually in danger anymore (and her kids would be much, much, MUCH better off without her).
Assisted Looker, Anabel, and Nanu with tracking down and capturing the Ultra Beasts that had been unleashed on the world. Since the Ultra Beasts were shown to be legitimately dangerous, this is probably the most heroic act under the Sun/Moon PC’s belt.
CONCLUSION:
So with all of the feats listed out above, if we made a list of Most Heroic to Least Heroic, I think it would look like:
Brendan / May (as of ORAS)
Lea / Blair
Rosa / Nate
Dawn / Lucas
Serena / Calem
Sun&Moon Boy / Sun&Moon Girl
Lyra / Ethan
Red / Leaf
Brendan/May averted two (2) apocalypses as of the ORAS remakes, and one apocalypse aversion resulted in them flying into space on a giant dragon in order to battle a sentient alien virus. If that’s not heroic, I don’t know what is.
Lea/Blair had their entire regional government overtaken by a totalitarian dictatorship, and they resisted this despite not knowing whether or not they were going to be able to awaken their chosen dragon. They also succeeded in this, and then took the time to help Interpol hunt down the remaining Sages before they left on their own personal quest. Especially considering the fact that they originally faced N without Zekrom/Reshiram, I’d say that counts as pretty heroic.
Rosa/Nate did similarly, but their quest was mostly focused on cleaning up the remnants of Lea/Blair’s quest, which is why it comes in third. However, they do get extra points above the rest given the fact that Kyurem was steadily icing the entire region, and they helped stop/put an end to that. So they do still have a respectable third slot.
Dawn/Lucas get the fourth slot because Team Galactic pulled off actual acts of terrorism, such as bombing lakes and mass killing the pokémon inside so that they could capture the lake guardians and then torture them in order to create devices to restrain the mascot legendaries. They also, as of Platinum, went into the Distortion World itself to deal with this threat and avert that apocalypse. That’s pretty damn impressive, and to be honest I’d be tempted to swap them with Rosa/Nate. The only reason why I’m not is because Unova was literally being destroyed, whereas Sinnoh (aside from the lake bombings) didn’t face a similar threat (like, Cyrus was going to remake it in his image, but the Unovan people were actively suffering due to the ice; the Sinnoan people weren’t suffering like that yet). It’s close, though.
Serena/Calem are up next, and while they do get major, major props for averting a mass genocide (which is a very big deal), they also lose some heroism points because, prior to Lysandre announcing to everyone that he was about to murder everyone who hadn’t paid him an exorbitant amount of money to be saved by joining Team Flare, Team Flare didn’t actually pose very much of a threat. The most threatening thing I can remember them doing is taking over the Pokéball Factory, and that wasn’t a very big deal. Serena/Calem also lose some points for not doing anything about Malva, and they also didn’t really do too much in the post-game subplot (instead, they were mostly our vessel for watching that story unfold)—and even if they did, Emma/Essentia’s crimes were mostly petty, although they were escalating in violence. So all in all, while Serena/Calem were very heroic by stopping a genocidal maniac from, you know, committing genocide, the rest of their feats (or lack thereof) land them in slot five.
The Sun/Moon PC has the most items on their list, however, most of their feats are dubious at best due to Gen VII’s shaky (at best) writing. While they certainly accomplished some of the most amazing things (riding a massive sun lion/moon bat into Ultra Space certainly sounds/looks impressive), the true weight behind them is skewed when you realize that the morality behind their actions is so tenuous (i.e. Team Skull clearly needs help, and yet they were offered none), they really didn’t do anything at all (i.e. Kukui formed the League while the PC did fuck all), or the world was never really in danger and everyone would have been better off had Lusamine been left to rot in Ultra Space. The only inarguably heroic thing that the Sun/Moon PC accomplished was the post-game subplot, in which they actively worked to save people from a very real and present danger. Otherwise, they didn’t do very much, and though Lillie credits the PC wholesale with helping her, I would argue that Lillie accomplished what she did as a result of her own strength and mettle, not because of the PC. Therefore, they’re sixth.
Lyra/Ethan come in at slot seven, the reason for this being that they … didn’t really accomplish very much. I’m being generous by giving them defeating Lance simply because he wasn’t a good Champion, but other than that the most they did was disband Neo Team Rocket, who weren’t posing any major threat to the world. That said, Lyra/Ethan did directly combat some of their more villainous activities (the Slowpoke Well, the Mahogany Town experiments, Radio Tower takeover), and since they had the bravery to stand up and stop Neo Team Rocket in those instances, they get slot seven …
… versus Red/Leaf, who come in at dead last. The most Red/Leaf did was stop Team Rocket’s activities in the Silph Co. building, and defeat Green (and again, I’m being generous by giving that to them). That’s it. Team Rocket wasn’t even posing that serious of a threat to the world (even less so in Gen I than Gen II), and so while it was still brave of Red/Leaf to do something about it, it’s not like they were saving the world. Therefore, they come in dead last since they objectively accomplished the least.
