Ugh so. I last got new glasses somewhere around November/December 2021. Very shortly after, a little over a year ago, I literally fell straight on my face and the glasses bent severely - a technician or whatever they're called was able to get it more or less fine, but not exactly perfect, and it's always bothered me since (specifically above my left ear, where the frame presses against my skull, causing persistent pain). However, since glasses are super fucking expensive, I didn't buy new ones. Recently this prescription has also started giving me headaches, clearly indicating it is time for a new one. But I straight up cannot afford new glasses rn. I've discovered my insurance will subsidize a decent amount of the cost of a new pair at one specific store that is convenient for me anyway, but not enough to genuinely make a new pair affordable. So I'm just. Using my glasses less and less. Taking them off almost the moment I get home and using my phone super close to my face, which is terrible for my eyes but at least doesn't make my head hurt. I've also had a persistent migraine problem after a several month break from migraines - it's probably caused by recent high amounts of stress, such as the money troubles I've had over the last couple of months, but I don't think the glasses are helping.

Basically what I'm asking for here is... Money. There's a ko-fi linked in my linktree in my bio. Here's the thing - while I'd appreciate money for free, literally anything will help, I'm also absolutely willing to do commissions. I can write you poetry, a short fic for any fandom I'm familiar with (to be discussed on a case by case basis), hell I'll edit your school paper as long as it's in an area I have any knowledge on (or at least check it for typos). My DMs are open and you can feel free to send me a message once you've donated and we'll discuss. Commissions will get priority over my current wips, with the exception of the spider gwen fic which is supposed to be a reward for the blorbo bracket.

There is a target goal up on my ko-fi page of 350, but even if I get nowhere near that, I will take anything with me to get a new pair, probably in late June. It's just become unbearable.

Ghost Learns That Patience Runs Out

W/n: Ghost angst cause i said so. This is also very OOC mainly because I like some angsty and fucked Ghost concepts. Im basing some of this off of his comics since there are some concerning scenes with him having very concerning behavior towards vulnerable people. DO NOT TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY (P.s. Summary: You love him, a lot. You are always so quiet and patient with him, wanting to make sure that his needs are met before your own. When he comes back from deployment you cook and clean for him. You make sure that everything feels relaxed and stress-free but its too much at times. Sometimes he looks at you and sees someone whom he hates. Sometimes he yells and breaks down while you're in the middle of helping him get clean. You take the verbal lashings and the occasional remarks in stride but you've hit your limit.

W: Unhealthy relationship, Simon "Ghost" Riley has issues, Break up, Hurt/ No Comfort, Hurt Ghost, Hurt Reader, Sad Ghost, OOC Ghost

You made sure everything was spotless. You knew how grimy and dangerous his work was, how much it weighed on him to do it and you wanted to make sure that your partner if that's what you could even call him, came back to a clean home.

You both hadnt said it out verbally, not that you thought you needed to, but you were together. Kinda. You knew he was only seeing you and he knew that you were only seeing him. It made sense to you to say that you were together but he never really enjoyed labeling your relationship. It started off as a mutual agreement to help each other destress but here you both were moving in together and sleeping in the same bed every night.

You did the laundry an hour before you knew he'd get home just so he'd have something warm and fresh smelling to put on once he took off his gear. You cooked something that would be rich in flavor and aroma while also being easy to eat since he didn't really take his time eating his meals.

You did everything to make the place feel like home to him.

Instead, when he opened up the door the first thing out of him was a grunt followed by his silence. He took off his gear, toeing off his boots by the door before taking off his socks. He was silent and had his back facing you but you didn't allow it to deter you.

"So, how was the flight back? I hope it wasn't too stressful. Im still cooking so you can go ahead and shower before eating, ok?" He didn't honor you with any response and instead walked into the bathroom, shutting the door behind him and turning on the shower.

You're used to it, his cold gaze and his uninterested attitude. You cold usually get him to relax with a meal or a quickie in the kitchen while your trying to cook. But you're tired, and your body is sore from working earlier in the day and preparing for his arrival.

"I'll set the table for us so you don't need to wait to eat!" You called out but you doubted he heard you.

When he came out of his shower, he was wearing the clothes you had set out for him and was toweling off his hair. The eyeblack was mostly removed but still stained around his eyes.

He said nothing, just sat down in his chair, and began to eat all while ignoring you.

"Did things go smoothly? Are John, Kyle, and Johnny ok?" You attempted to start the conversation again but were met with the sound of utensils scraping against the ceramic plate.

"We can talk about it later so you can unwind." You cut the conversation short and ate your food all while holding back the urge to cry.

His absence from your shared home was noticeable his presence was overpowering. He wasn't affectionate but he at least would answer your questions. He would at least touch you and pressure you that he was home. He would at least say a quiet "thank you" for the meal.

Instead, you both cleaned up the table and cleaned the dishes. He finished his and walked straight into the bedroom. You follow him once you finished cleaning the kitchen and began to undress. Maybe he wanted to have sex tonight. Maybe this would get him to speak to you or pay attention to you.

"Simon, I want you." You did your best, you even put on a bit of a show for him. But he wasn't looking at you. He just lifted up the sheets and laid down.

Maybe you were being too overly sensitive but his rejection hurt. It had you questioning if you were good enough for him if your body was pleasant to look at or to even touch.

You put on your usual sleeping clothes and joined him in bed. You slept with your back facing him. Sleeping next to him felt suffocating.

In the morning things weren't any better. He was talking to you but he was being crude and rude about the smallest of things. You had to go grocery shopping for something small and he began to berate you.

"How did you forget to buy more cooking oil? You're the only one in this house that cooks." It was getting annoying. His eyes never left you and it felt like you were a caged animal that he was keeping an eye on.

"I'm sorry, ok? I forgot. I was just excited that you were coming home and I forgot." You wanted to be patient, he was stressed all the time. He had to watch people die as part of his job but it didn't stop you from growing more and more upset with him every time he started these petty arguments.

"You don't leave the house most of the time. You're always here or at work. How could you forget something so basic? This is incompetence, Y/n." He had his face mask pulled down so you were able to see the majority of his face. He looked disgusted.

"Simon, please. You just got back, can we please just enjoy that? Can we enjoy that you're ok and back home for once?" You had the car keys in your hand, you were ready to head out to grab what you needed but he wouldn't leave it alone.

He snatched the keys from your hand and pushed you to the side.

"Why should we? I can't even trust you when you're alone and now you think you can go do it now?" He slammed the front door as he walked out.

The silence was deafening and relieving. He was gone.

You cried. You used to do it often when he would leave for a new assignment or when he would go without contacting you for months on end. But this was different. He was here. He was home. This should be the happiest time for you. Instead, it was painful. You wished he wasn't here. You wanted him to go away again.

You knew that he was nicer, calmer, and more understanding with his colleagues than he was to you. You knew this because of how he would talk about his coworkers. They were his family, his anchor. You wanted to be that support for him, to be his anchor that removed him from all of the gore and violence of his world.

But you weren't that person for him. You were his punching bag. His toy to fuck and use. He wasn't always rude but it was normal for him to be. You wanted him back, the man you fell for, the one who held you and told you that he adored you. You craved Simon back but it seemed that all that remained was his facade. His mask.

You didn't want to do this again when. he got back from the store. You didn't want to argue anymore with the person you thought you were committed to. He had problems and you weren't going to blame him for it but he wasn't the man you loved. This was not the person you met all those months ago.

You packed a bag with the essentials and started clearing up some of the mess that had started to appear since last night. You took everything you thought you might need for at least a few nights at a motel. You were tired, your body begging you to take a moment to breathe and relax but your heart was pounding in your chest and the. tears began to flow out.

When Simon got back, he noticed that the lights inside your guy's home were off. He stepped into the home, toeing his shoes off because he knew how much you hated cleaning the floor. He called out for you, he walked around the first floor of your home before placing the groceries on the table. He had bought some flowers and your favorite snack because he saw that you were low on them. He also felt like an ass for having been rude in the morning. He shouldn't have been mean to you. You were just trying to accommodate him. He did a around the house, calling your name.

The house was empty.

All of a sudden the space was too big and too small all at the same time. He was suffocating in his own skin, the air too hot for him. He ran up the stairs and barged into the bedroom. Some of your clothes and your suitcase were gone, and so was your toothbrush. But everything else was there, it looked like home. Yet, the picture you kept framed of the two of you that was on the nightstand was faced down and your keys were gone too.

He called your phone repeatedly. Message after message was sent to you and after a while, they stopped going through. He put on his shoes and ran out the door to see if he could find you in the general area but you were nowhere to be found.

You vanished into thin air and he was left to go back to an empty home just as he would have you do.

At the time Fingon was severely grieving his father and beating himself up over his father’s death as well as their loss in the Battle of the Sudden Flame (Dagor Bragollah). Maedhros with his heart was also in pain and remorse, trying his best to comfort and help Fingon get himself back together.But in the end, may be it was Fingon who was, and always had been the Lighthouse of Maedhros’s soul, never stopped keeping Maedhros being himself all along despite the pain he suffered.

He stayed there, closed his eyes, letting the moment settle down. He was still himself, his Finno was still here, safe and needed him more than ever. And that, at the time, was more than enough.

Well I guess the tragedy of Maedhros was continuously struggling with all the promises he could never keep. But I think they deserve this kind of moment together. Aspec Alastor?

i personally don't enjoy seeing the majority of alastor shipping content and will never make any serious shipping art. for cursed reasons or crackshipping? sometimes. (heck i don't even know how to draw a kiss properly). if i'm not consistent with this, it's because sometimes i don't recognize shipping art as actual shipping until much later so bear with me

that being said i do find onesided radiostatic funny at times and don't mind qpr radiorose. also its the internet, if you enjoy alastor shipping, be my guest i'm not your mom and i can't change your mind. i just ask you to be respectful to my fellow aspecs and respect that this blog is meant to be an aspec-friendly space

Why is your art style so inconsistent?

lmao so i actually switch between using a bunch of drawing tools with varying proficiencies. i tend to do doodles on procreate or clip studio paint, and animate on krita. i would say that i'm probably best at using clip studio and krita since im more used to using a drawing tablet than a tablet screen. also i just like drawing in multiple styles for my personal art

woe, Grian be upon ye

Little doodle of an earlier Grian design I had to test out a more chibi art style. I really like how this turned out, and I hope to offer chibis as a commission option soon when I get a little more accustomed to them! The eyes are a little different than what I'd usually do, because I wanted to do Grian's little dash eyes that he has on his avatar haha.

Anyone else excited for Life Series 5 coming "soon"? I hope to do a few more of these little chibis of other Life Series members, such as Martyn, Jimmy, Pearl and Tango! I hope yous like them when I do get around to posting them!

I prefer to work with clear, visual references. The more, the better! I am willing to try working from description for people I know.

My turnaround time tends to be fairly quick but the estimates given are best-case scenario. I ask for at least 2 weeks or so for your commission to be completed, accounting for things like days off & breaks. I'll occasionally be taking the weekends off which may add to the wait time.

I will send a rough, colored sketch for approval before moving on to other stages. This is the only stage where I'll do major changes! After that, I'll ask about last-minute changes but those are limited.

Ko-fi commissions are paid 100% upfront so they get priority! If you'd rather use a 50/50 method, either through PayPal or Ko-fi tips, DM me!

Hi Anon! Thank you for the request, I hope you like it. I apologize if there isn't enough fluff. Midterms were this week and I've been a little sidetracked. Asra:

Asra has most definitely cut his hair himself before

However, he’d much rather have you do it

His hair has gotten a little shaggy, fully covering his eyes

Asra runs his fingers through his wavy hair and moves in front of you, inches away from your face

“MC, could you give me a trim? I can’t see you’re beautiful face enough-“

You run your fingers through his hair, almost massaging his scalp

His hair is incredibly soft (fun fact: that's canon)

He’s looking up at you the entire time, his hand planted on your waist

After, he looks in the mirror and smiles softly, “Absolutely gorgeous, MC”

He kisses all over your face, pulling you close

Nadia:

To be cutting her hair is a true honor and privilege

Only specific servants or well-known stylists have cut it in the past

But one day she looks at you and the thought entertains her

“Darling, would you like to try trimming my hair? Just my pesky dead ends..?”

She’s watching you like a hawk, giving directions (lovingly)

Her hair is silky smooth with a natural shine

It turns out great, she starts twirling her hair with a finger, admiring it

She decides to pop a special bottle of wine and have a nice dinner prepared

Julian:

Julian usually cuts his hair

But one day he thinks it might be fun to look up to you and have you do it for him

He’s twiddling his thumbs once you start cutting, face red 

His hair is pretty coarse and soft to the touch

You brush his hair from the front of his face, he leans into your hand

“You’re so good at this, MC”, he grins

Sort of gives you puppy dog eyes the entire time

He most definitely has you standing in between his legs, his thighs almost trapping you

After it’s done, he runs his hands through his hair “Mazelinka is going to be impressed, you know?”

He buys you a drink after, proudly showing off his new cut

Muriel:

Muriel has always been the one to cut his hair

Not sure if “cut” is the right word, it’s more like chop

He’s never given much thought about his hairstyle

You ask if you can cut it because it’s getting a little long and you can tell he’s getting a bit annoyed at the length

“I…uhh, I guess”, he looks away blushing

His hair is a little rough, with lots of dead ends but still soft and easy to take care of

At first, he’s tense, his shoulders are bunched up

But after a while, his shoulders go down and he closes his eyes

He finds it comforting and peaceful, leaning into you

After it’s done and he sees the end result, he just smiles

Pulls you close and kisses your forehead, “Thank you, MC”

Portia:

In the past, Portia would cut her hair herself or have Mazelinka cut her hair 

“You know what would be fun, MC?”

She practically bounces in front of you, curls bobbing up and down

“If we cut each other's hair!!”, she beams a bright smile

While you’re cutting, her feet are patting the ground in excitement

Her hair is soft, her curls are very defined and somehow never become frizzy

Pepi comes out of nowhere, looking at the situation and meowing in delight

“She says you’re doing a wonderful job~”

After the haircut, Portia won’t stop telling everyone what an amazing job you did

She’s incredibly proud

Lucio:

Lucio is the pickiest about who cuts his hair

His pride and joy are his looks (other than you)-

He quickly realizes that not many people want to cut his hair anymore, urging him to ask you

His hair is smooth, he takes well care of it

He’s directing you the entire time

About March 31st, 1964

Hello, my lovesomes!

As some of you know, Mara from my newest book, "Some Thing Called Myself," not only discovered she's becoming a zombie, but she's falling in love with two monster hunters that hate her kind—and she's doing that while dealing with the scars left behind from her experience during the Brazilian Military Dictatorship, which happened from 1964 to 1985. My book begins in 1990, but Mara (28) saw everything happening firsthand during the student riots of the 80s, and that's part of why I'm here today.

Today, March 31st, 2023, marks 59 years since the coup that put the Brazilian Military Force in Brazil's seat of power. The Military Dictatorship lasted for more than two decades, exiled, violated, tortured, and killed a number of people that is unknown UP TO THIS DAY, and the actors behind it, the jailers, the torturers, the killers, the generals, degenerated, are still free today, with only a tiny, minimal number of them facing justice for their acts.

After the regime ended in 1985, the Brazilian Government refused to confirm any deaths. In 95, ten years after the end of the Dictatorship, the Government admitted only 434 deaths and disappearances, and solely of people who were part of political movements (theoretically not including people without political association). In 2002, though, the amnesty commission compensated people directly affected by the Brazilian Military Dictatorship…. Today, the number of people who received compensation has already surpassed 30 THOUSAND people, which is a much more realistic number of how much violence and suffering the regime caused.

We're not in the 20th century anymore, but there is still much impunity, violence, and power abuse from the Entities who should protect us, and it's up to us, as a collective of people, to put things right. Without delving too much into modern Brazilian politics (I already did that a lot in the past four years, mainly to comment on the violence against the Brazilian Indigenous people, the racism, misogyny, and homophobia under the Bolsonaro Government), I'll leave you all saying that we need to look into the history of our countries and to find parallels with what's happening today. Much of what happened during the BR Dictatorship also happened in the past decades, and we all (I definitely include myself in this) must start looking at the past with a critical eye to understand how we arrived at what the world is today.

To me—queer, woman, Brazilian, born and raised and hurt in the lower class of big São Paulo, but lucky enough to have gone to high school and college with a scholarship—March 31st is a day to remember and ponder.
