The one thing that everyone seems to know about Eddie Munson is that when he's not out touring the world with his band, Corroded Coffin, he makes a point to be as invisible as possible in order to spend time at home with his family. Eddie, along with his wife Chrissy of seven years and their two young children, graciously invited Vogue into their Hollywood Hills home that's about as secluded as you can get while still having that coveted Los Angeles zip code.
Vogue: I have to admit, given what I've seen of Corroded Coffin on stage, I think I expected your home to reflect a bit more of that personality.
Eddie Munson: [laughs] You can thank Chrissy for that. She's the brains behind this whole operation, I just do what she tells me.
So there's no hidden dungeon in the basement?
Hate to burst your bubble, but nope. I've been trying to get a sacrificial altar for the backyard, but I haven't found one I liked yet.
Really?
[laughs] I'm kidding. But I had you going, right?
You really did. But that's what you've always done, right? Leaned into the mania of Satanic Panic and made it work for you?
Yeah, I guess so. I mean, people are gonna believe whatever they wanna believe anyway so I might as well give 'em what they want, right? Plus, [laughs] it's a hell of a lot of fun.
What's it like having that devil-worshipper stage persona with two young kids at home? Do either of your kids know what their dad does for a living?
Oh, yeah. They [redacted] love it. Wait, can I say [redacted]?
We can't print it, but you can say it.
[Redacted] yeah. Our little one doesn't really get the whole stage thing yet, but she sure looks cute in those big-ass headphones.
And your other daughter?
Oh, if she could be on stage with me every night, she would be. On our last tour, we had this gimmick where Gareth rigged a bunch of blood packs to his drums to explode during the encore and she thought it was the coolest [redacted] thing in the world. He even offered to let her do it when we were in rehearsals!
And did she?
Maybe.
From the look on your face, I'm guessing she did.
[laughs] Don't tell Chrissy.
Scout's honor. Until this article comes out, anyway.
[Redacted]. Is it too late to say off the record?
Way too late.
[Redacted]. Oh well. Worth it. She had the biggest [redacted] grin on her face when she was covered in fake blood, it was priceless.
Seems like you might be raising a mini version of yourself. Would you support your kids following in your footsteps and joining the music industry?
[Editor's note: At this point in the interview, the eldest Munson child came running out of the back door and pounced on her father, who took it in stride and continued answering questions as though he didn't have a six-year-old hanging over his shoulder.]
I mean, if that's what they wanna do, then hell yeah.
[gasps] Daddy said a bad word!
Daddy did not, Daddy said hell.
Mommy said hell's a bad word.
Mommy also said you were supposed to stay inside, didn't she?
Pip was crying. She misses you.
Do you need a moment?
[laughs] Believe me, if I took a moment for every time I wanted to be with my kids, I'd never get anything done.
Because you love us so much?
Exactly.
How much?
To the moon and back.
That's a lot!
Sure is, kiddo. Now shush and let the nice lady ask her questions.
Ooh, ask me! Ask me! I got lots of stories.
If you don't mind?
It's your funeral. [laughs] She'll talk your ear off if you let her.
What do you think about your dad being a rockstar?
[shrugs] It's okay.
Wow, thanks for the endorsement, kid. You heard it here first: being a rockstar is just okay.
Would you rather he had another job?
[shrugs] What other job?
I dunno. Playing music's the only thing I've ever been good at.
Nuh-uh! Daddy's good at lots of things.
Like what?
Telling stories. Playing with me. One time, he built me a big castle out of pillows and chairs and blankets and we played in it all day 'til Mommy said it was time for dinner. And then we all went to bed in it. Like camping!
Camping? When did you go camping?
Mommy let us sleep outside and said it was like camping. It was when you were gone. I don't like when you're gone. It makes Mommy sad. And then I'm sad. And Pip's sad. You're not going away again, are you?
No, baby. I'm staying right here with you.
Good. [to Vogue] Do you wanna see what Daddy brought home for me last time he went away?
I'd love to.
Okay!
[Editor's note: just as quickly as she came, Munson's daughter ran off to go fetch the present from inside the house.]
Do you need a minute?
Nah. It just… [sighs] never gets easier, you know? Hearing how much they miss me when I'm gone. I miss them all the [redacted] time.
I'm not surprised. Just from the last five minutes, I can see how much she adores you and I can't imagine what it's like to leave that behind, even when it's to go on a worldwide tour.
It's tough. I love my job, don't get me wrong. It's what's given us this house, all the [redacted] that the girls need, anything they could ever want, but… [shrugs] I dunno. Sometimes giving it all up doesn't sound half as hard as leaving them is. Maybe that's just me being ungrateful.
I don't think so. I think it means you're human. Stuck between a rock and a hard place, you know? Torn between two worlds.
[laughs] Now there's an idea for an album. The dichotomy of being a rockstar and a father.
I'd listen to it.
Hell, so would I.
(might continue this with a lil follow-up fic of chrissy and eddie reading the interview before it goes to print... thoughts? 👀)

As a fandom we have come to the conclusion that Graves has mommy issues. This got me thinking… So hi i'm here to talk about some of the southern parenting I’ve seen in the form of Graves’ mother head canons. Welcome!! (or at least I tried to do that jury is still out lol)
This post is dedicated to @captain-mj ! and is based on This poll where, we can all agree, the answer is Graves! LMAO
now, onto Mrs. Graves:
Phil's Mother is seen in her community as a kind and strong willed woman. People might describe her as ‘a joy to talk to,’ ‘always ready to offer a helping hand,’ and ‘a strong leader’ but there are also people in her community that refuse to describe her at all. ‘Oh do you know Mrs. Graves?’ these people may be asked. ‘We're not close,’ these people will reply, letting their tone carry the end of a topic.
This is because, to those who meet her in passing, she’s a wide smile, a southern drawl and sugary attitude—What they don’t see is this is all done because she is using kindness and charisma to craft a careful social narrative that is designed to keep criticism at bay, and people complacent. (Have you ever noticed that humans are more willing to let people who we consider ‘good’ get away with hurting others?) Mrs. Graves cannot handle anyone challenging her authority, and she is constantly fighting to make sure no one may question her.
To those who spend more time with her, her personality becomes much more clear. She’s the woman who won’t hesitate to tell the farm hand what they’d done so wrong, the woman who will demand hard work and harder hours, the woman who is seemingly blind to the struggles of anyone who she deems under her. (Which is everyone except the people who will grant her social power btw.)
Those who are unlucky enough to get closer to her have seen even more of the cracks in her mask. Mrs. Graves holds her power over the others heads, she will claim she deserves privileges beyond a reasonable expectation, she often uses the lord’s word as justification for unjustified opinions, and (in some cheap version of making herself look Better) Mrs. Graves complains about those she deems ‘under her social level’ to ‘peers.’
The largest crack in that ceramic smile, however—the one that reveals the raw flesh beneath—is how she treats her son.
Her “mini me.”
Mrs. Graves enacted strict control over all activities Phil did. Privacy was a luxury not a right, and it was a luxury he didn’t have. “You shouldn’t have anything to hide,” was a common phrase uttered. Phil had limited and monitored access to any ideas outside of the christian ideals his mother wanted for him. Phil went to christian school, and any friends he was allowed to hang out with outside school hours were either from his church or approved by his mother. Phil didn’t fight this. He was a kid, this was his mother. She said she knew what was right for him, so she knew what was right for him. He liked it when his mother thought of him as a good son and letting her approve of all his friends would make her think that.
Mrs. Graves used her husband’s authority for her own gain, using the “man of the house” as a tool to inflict her will. Mr. Graves’ parents did have a hand in his matrimony :/. They found him a nice christian woman for their good (read: bitter and emotionally closed) christian son. Mr. Graves shares the same perspective of gender roles as his wife…
Actually I need to stop talking about Phil’s father, this is a post about mommy issues.
Point is, if Phil did something wrong in Mrs. Graves eyes she would threaten Phil with his father’s wrath. And if Phil did something wrong in his father’s eyes his father would rage on his own. Phil hated disappointing his mother, but he feared making his father mad.
-
Phil’s mother of course forced him into community activities as much as she could, church groups, 4H, anything that had a community where her boy could make her look good. She would make him participate and do the best work he could even if he hated it, he had to win every paper boat race, every mini science fair. Sometimes she would do the work for him to make sure it was done ‘right.’ Mrs. Graves would berate Phil if he ever did anything that might make her look like a “bad parent” (Like losing the boat race … Ma’am please…)
Mrs. Graves also believes emotions are a weakness especially from women and believes emotions are simply not allowed for men either. Any Big feelings Phil showed as a kid were frowned upon and chastised. He was made to feel pathetic for fear, sadness, and even anger.
Mrs. Graves is unafraid to use humiliation to punish her son, she will happily drag him aside and chew him out in front of his friends. Sometimes it's a show for Mrs. Graves' friends, other times no one is around and she is just angry at something he did.
As an example of how Mrs. Graves handled parenting, A kid on the playground once shoved Phil to the ground and stole the toy dino he was playing with. Phil wanted to cry, but “Buck up” was one of his mother’s favorite phrases, and Phil hated to be told to Buck Up so instead he got angry. He rips the dino out of the other kid's hand and yells at the other kid that he hates them. I’ll spare you a whole play by play about what happened and give you the footnotes:
-Phil gets his toy back, but his anger didn’t go unnoticed by his mother
-His mother realizes that the other Kid’s mother has now seen Phil act up and can’t handle the perceived judgment.
-everything Phil does she takes as a direct reflection on HER so she is blinded by this hit to her ego
-she now must prove to the other mother that she is a Good Mom who has her kid Under Control
-She yells at Phil, grabs his ear, forces him to apologize and gives the dino back to the other kid (it's Phil’s toy) she tells him they’re going home.
-the other kid has realized their own mistake and quietly gives Phil back his toy.
-Mrs. Graves doesn’t realize Phil has the dino back until they’re in the car.
-She grabs the dino, breaks it and throws it out the car window
wow… That hurt to write
Anyway~
It wasn’t always bad, When Phil did something good he was showered in praise and affection. If he was cute for a picture, If he complimented his mother in front of her friends, or won a school competition (remember this reflects well on her), that's when life was good. She’d get all sweet, maybe they’d get ice cream later, or maybe she’d even tell him that she loves him.
I hope you’re picking up what I'm putting down: that Love was inherently conditional for Phil.
But you see, Phil has known no other type. He never knew unconditional love, this was just how life was. As long as he worshiped his mother, sung her praises, was successful, was good and listened to what she asked, he was loved. As a long-term consequence of this Phil is always looking for praise and reassurance, he has deep rooted self worth issues that he can’t see.
-
Phil’s mom has always been described to him as powerful, a woman to respect, (no one is going to insult someone's mother to their face. Though they probably should have, because now…) Phil has internalized these ideas, and he can’t see how flawed his mother truly is. Phil has idolized his mother, becoming blind to her faults in some twisted compensation for all the pain she has caused him. (Phil is the type of person to say “sometimes I just needed a good slap” and MEAN IT.)
His worship of his mother was of course more extreme when he was a naive child. So during his tween and teen years when he was a bit more of his own person ‘all the sudden’ a rift definitely started to develop between him and his mother.
Phil’s mother has always made jokes about never wanting Phil to grow up, never wanting him to stop being her little boy. Once he was grown they just shifted to wishing he never had. Sometimes when she’s feeling affectionate towards her son, (normally after being particularly doted on by her adult child,) she’ll say ‘You’ll always be a little kid to me.’ Phil thinks its praise, thinks its love. He can’t see how toxic the narrative is. She’s expressing love for the young kid who worshiped her, and denouncing the teen or adult that is his own person in front of her. ‘I wish you were still that little kid, I wish you’d never gotten bigger.’ These are words that hurt, but cut in a way that isn’t felt on the surface.
(sorry, the timeline ran away from me. We’re going back to roughly Phil’s teen years again, weeee!)
Speaking of hurt that isn’t felt on the surface! While corporal punishment wasn’t uncommon in the Graves’ household,
(sometimes in the classical sense when he was younger, but also as a teen in the sense of off-handed corporal corrections, like the quick hards knocks over the head if he talks back, the swift yank of taking something from his hands, and kick in the shin under the table if he talked too much to guests about something that interested him.)
There was also an undercurrent of causal aggressive physicality that Graves hasn’t identified as abusive to this day, because, well, these family interactions that were always spoken of positively. Why should reality be any different? These are all just loving family play? Right?
The dig of nails into his side to jumpscare him around the kitchen counter, (only to be laughed out when he yelped). The trick that got him to picking up something hot when he should’ve ‘known better.’ The throw his favorite canned cranberry sauce into his shoulder hard, as a ‘gift’
Graves got mad at that one at first, telling his mother to not throw hard cans at him, as duh, it hurt?? She chewed him out for 15 minutes about how she’d done something nice and gotten him something he liked and his ungrateful ass was so selfish that he couldn’t even say thank you“Th-”“Do not interrupt me!”
She ‘didn’t hurt him’ and ‘he was being dramatic,’ ‘a real man could handle a light hit to the shoulder!’
Graves tried to show her the already forming bruise. She offered to give him a real one.
That was her joking with him… right?
These are the interactions that Phil would never see as trauma inducing. These are positive memories starring playful family rough housing.
He doesn’t give a second thought to why he remembers each one vividly.
-
Okay, almost done!! Adult years!
Once he was 18, Phil left to join the army and Serve His Country as the Good American he was, but even out from under her rein Mrs. Graves’ influence can be felt.
Mrs. Graves always demanded respect, and like a good southern boy, Phil has always given it to her. Even now as an adult Phil loves his mother and tells everyone he couldn’t ask for a better mom. (He really could…) He has disregarded his own emotional well being in a desperate attempt to be a good son, and can’t even see it.
I mean, of course he did. Taking care of his mental well-being was frowned upon. If he wasn’t pushing himself to perform for his mother he wasn’t being a good son. But now the last time Graves cried was at 15 years old, and he’ll need to do a lot of healing before he’s able to again.
When he visits his mother she without fail tells him he doesn’t come home enough. All mothers think their kids should come home more, but Mrs. Graves makes it sound like a personal affront. When he’s home the light bullying hasn’t stopped. He can’t do much without being chastised. Even when he does something she can’t criticize like taking care of himself she can often find a way to make a remark. (like putting on sunscreen? ‘Scared of a little son, don’t want a thick skin?’)

lee!george, lee!dream, ler!sapnap, 6.5k words
--
A sudden knock on his bedroom door pulled Sapnap out of his focus, and he reached for the TV remote to pause the episode of Death Note he was watching from his bed.
“Come in!” He strained, stretching his arms above his head and groaning, sitting up and rubbing his eyes as the door to his bedroom opened.
“Hey,” Dream greeted as he walked in, George following behind him, and they both walked over to Sapnap’s bed. George wasted no time, jumping up onto the bed next to where Sapnap’s legs were under the covers, then pushing himself over to the head of the bed next to Sapnap, sitting cross legged. Dream chuckled at the action, but sat on the edge of the bed. “We just had a question for you.”
“Sure, what’s up?” Sapnap asked, adjusting himself to give the other two more room to sit, and Dream pulled one leg up onto the bed and left the other hanging off, touching the floor. Sapnap rested his hand on George’s knee, something he’d gotten into the habit of doing whenever George sat next to him, rubbing his thumb over the material of his pajama pants as Dream began to speak.
“So, I know we already have plans for your birthday, but we just wanted to ask if there's anything else special you wanted to do, since our plans are kinda an unspoken tradition thing,” Dream explained, earning a nod from Sapnap. “Is there anything else you had in mind to celebrate or did you just wanna do gifts and dinner like we usually do?”
“Hm…” Sapnap furrowed his eyebrows in thought. “Uh, I’m not sure, I don’t really think so? I didn’t really have anything in mi…” He began, but trailed off, his thumb pausing its movements as it rested right in the dip on the inner part of George’s knee.
Just as an evil idea formed in his head.
“What?” Dream asked, tilting his head in confusion as he watched Sapnap’s expression change to one that was significantly more sinister.
“Did you think of something?” George cut in, looking just as lost as Dream. Sapnap smiled over at him, pressing his thumb into his knee with light pressure.
“Yeah, I thought of something,” Sapnap said, adjusting his position again, folding his hands in his lap and leaning forward– to show he meant business, of course. “I want to tickle you both,” He continued bluntly, watching Dream’s eyes widen and his lips part in shock, and listening to George’s scoff of disapproval.
“Wh- uh…” George stuttered for a moment, sounding like he wanted to speak, wanted to say something snarky in response, but couldn’t find the words. “W-what?” He ended up with, quite well spoken, if Sapnap were to say so himself.
“I want to tickle both of you. At the same time. I get free range of any spots and any techniques that I want, and I get to keep going until you each can’t take it anymore. We’ll have a safeword, of course, I’m not a monster,” Sapnap said with a smile, earning an amused chuckle from Dream and another scoff from George. “And I want it to be completely willing. No restraints, no pinning– okay, well, maybe a little bit, because I know some of us can get a little too squirmy to stay still on our own…” Sapnap teased, raising his eyebrows and looking over at George, who promptly threw his hands over his face and curled in on himself with a groan, making the other two laugh fondly. Sapnap moved his hand to George’s back, rubbing up and down soothingly for a few moments to calm him, before letting it drop back down to his knee. “But I want it to be completely voluntary. I want you guys to let me tickle you for as long as you can stand it,” Sapnap finished, smiling as Dream stared at him nervously and George dropped his hands to reveal his blushing face, looking at the comforter below him, refusing to make eye contact.
“That’s… you– so, we…” Dream stammered, swallowing shakily, pouting slightly as he tilted his head back to look at the ceiling. “You just…” He closed his eyes, letting out a soft breath, looking back down at Sapnap with pinched eyebrows. “I-I thought you would’ve picked, like… watching a movie or something.”
“Well, you thought wrong, baby boy,” Sapnap teased, giggling at the way the pet name made Dream’s cheeks turn a light pink color. There was a moment of silence again, before Dream continued.
“And that’s… that’s really what you want?”
“It’s really what I want,” Sapnap said confidently, watching as Dream looked over to George, raising his eyebrows. George’s lips parted, a subtle pout still on his face, and he let out an uncertain sigh, shrugging his shoulders in a way that would be just barely noticeable if you weren’t looking for his reaction.
George seemed more uncertain of his answer than Dream, though he wasn’t necessarily uncomfortable with the idea. Dream, who knew George better than George knew himself sometimes, seemed to make the decision for him, a mischievous smile gracing his lips as he turned back to Sapnap.
“Okay.”
“WHAT?!” George yelped, voice squeaky, curling in on himself in both embarrassment and nerves.
“You’ll do it?” Sapnap asked, the same mischievous smile on his own face.
“We’ll do it.” Dream nodded, smiling as he watched George shift against the pillows.
“NO?! No, no! We will not! We’re not– I’m not doing that, no!”
“George,” Sapnap said firmly, looking over at him, making him freeze in his place under Sapnap’s knowing look. “If you don’t want to do this, you don’t have to. Just say the words. We won’t be upset.”
“No, I…” George began, before clamping his mouth shut and letting out a breath through his nose. He pouted again, slumping down against the pillows behind him, bringing his knees up and crossing his arms over his chest. “Whatever.”
“Mm, thought so,” Sapnap said with a smile, earning another scoff from George, followed by an eye roll and him looking off to the side to avoid eye contact. “Alright then…” Sapnap said, moving out from under the covers and off to the side to give Dream a clear path to the top of the bed. “Let’s go.”
“…Let’s go, what?” Dream asked in confusion, glancing over at George, who ventured a look back as well. He still seemed nervous, but he was still pouting and his eyes were big and glossy, so Dream could tell he was fine, and he was sure Sapnap could as well. George glanced between the two, staying silent, waiting for things to unfold. Sapnap smiled, gesturing to the bed, before clarifying.
“Lay down. I wanna get started, I’m not wasting any of my tickle time.”
“Wha– now?! You– you meant now?!” Dream asked, nervousness settling over his features as well, squirming slightly where he sat and bouncing his foot that still rested on the floor.
“Yeah, of course I meant now! C’mon,” Sapnap said, patting the middle of the bed. “Lay down, Dreamie.”
“But– that’s– I didn't–“ Dream stuttered, his cheeks burning, biting his lip to force down a smile. Sapnap gave him an expectant look, raising his eyebrows at him, and Dream let out a sigh before wordlessly moving himself to lay down. He situated himself the best he could, adjusting the pillow under his head and settling down against Sapnap’s ruffled sheets, one hand messing with his hair and the other resting on his own chest.
“There we go. That’s perfect,” Sapnap praised, gently patting Dream’s knee and smiling down at him, receiving one in return as well. Then, he turned his attention to George, who looked back at him with wide eyes, curling further in on himself under the pressing gaze. “George.”
“Mm-mm,” He mumbled, shaking his head.
“You know it’s your turn.”
“I can’t.”
“C’mon, Georgie, you know you’re gonna let me,” Sapnap coaxed, sitting up on his knees and resting one hand on George’s knee. “Don’t try to start a fight you know you’ll lose.”
“I’m not–! It’s not that, it’s just– I just– Sapnap, c’mon–“ George stammered, squirming in his seat, looking up at Sapnap with wide eyes as the younger boy began to push in closer. He loomed over George, making him lean further back into the pillows but not budge to lay down yet, the proximity making his lip tremble nervously as he took in a shaky breath. “Sap– Sapnap…”
“You know what I have to do.”
“No, Sapnap, pl–EASE–!” George yelped as Sapnap suddenly grabbed his ankles, yanking him forward by his legs and pulling him down the bed to be almost flat. “NO, don’t! Stop, STOP!” He protested, yelling and complaining, frantically trying to push himself up, bending his legs to put his knees between him and Sapnap’s bodies to keep the distance.
“Don’t you fucking dare,” Sapnap threatened when George managed to prop himself up on his elbows and slide back. He grabbed George again, this time by his hips, and pulled him back down flat, swatting his hands away every time they tried to grab him.
“No, nonono, NO! SAPNAP!” George continued to yell, much to the entertainment of the other two, and Sapnap giggled as he wrapped his arms around George’s calves, shifting him down to lay on an even level with Dream. “LET GO, let go, let go, let go!” George tried everything to yank his legs free, attempting to pull, push, turn to either side, but nothing worked. Soon enough, Sapnap was pushing George’s legs against the bed and throwing himself over him, straddling his thighs and keeping him fully pinned. “NO! No, no! Sapnap! C’monnnnn, Sapnaaaap…” George whined, groaning in frustration, still arching his back as he pushed at Sapnap’s legs and bucked his hips up.
“Hey,” Sapnap said firmly, grabbing George’s wrists and pinning them to the bed by his sides, making him gasp and stare up at him, wide eyed. “Are you done?” He asked, and George twisted his wrists in his hold, not budging at all.
“Wh– I…” He clamped his mouth shut and nodded.
“Are you gonna behave yourself?”
“Mhm.” Another nod, and Sapnap smiled and let go of his wrists, watching George immediately cross his arms over his chest and pout.
“Good. Now quick ground rules before we start, like I said, I get to do whatever I want, however I want it, and you have to let me. Okay?” He said, earning an eye roll from George, but a nod and hum in understanding from both of them. “Good. And whenever you want me to stop, for any reason, whenever you’re ready to be done, you say, uh…” Sapnap thought for a moment, deciding on a safeword. “I dunno, you say ‘minecraft’, does that work? Safe word is minecraft?” George scoffed, letting out a quiet laugh at the silly choice, but he nodded and hummed anyway.
“Minecraft is good,” George said.
“Yeah, minecraft works,” Dream agreed, smiling up at Sapnap. Sapnap smiled and laughed as well, nodding his own head.
“Alright, perfect.” With that, Sapnap’s smile turned evil, and his hands were immediately on Dream’s sides, scratching his nails over the area on top of his shirt, adding in a few pinches and pokes here and there to make Dream squirm more. Dream gasped, the smile on his face turning bashful before he broke into a wide, toothy grin, his giggles and squeaky laughter spilling out despite his attempts to stop it.
“Oh, gohohod…” He said as he tensed his shoulders. Instinctively, his hands flew to grab Sapnap’s, yanking them away from his sides, but this only stopped him for about one second before they returned to continue their motions anyway. “Ah!” He gasped again, then grabbed the hands again, pulling them away, but still, they just jumped back into action. “Naha! No, nohoho, no!” This happened a few more times, Dream’s giggles growing more frantic each time, until Sapnap spoke up.
“Hey. No. None of that today, you have to let me,” He reprimanded softly, making Dream groan and cover his face with his hands for a moment before dropping them down on the bed and gripping the sheets in his hands. “See? Not so hard, is it?”
“Fuhuck yohouohou! You knohow thahat’s not truhuhuhue!” Dream replied, making Sapnap giggle and nod, and he decided to form his hands into claws and scratch at Dream’s sides that way instead, even slipping under his shirt to scratch and poke at his bare skin instead, making him squeal and arch his back. “OH, fuhuhuck! Gohohod, NOHOHO!” Dream’s laughter grew louder when Sapnap skittered his fingers over the sides of his tummy, his hips jolting and his knees drumming against the bed underneath him, making the whole mattress shake with his movements. Sapnap chuckled, tweaking the center of Dream’s ribs, making him squeal as his hands grabbed onto his wrists again.
“Hey,” Sapnap began, but Dream only squeezed tighter, not pulling them away but just holding on, even as the fingers went back to scratching cruelly at his sides.
“I knohow, I know Ihihi know I knohohow,” Dream mumbled through his laughter, biting his lip and letting out a quiet whimper before breaking down again. He squeezed his eyes shut, his giggles turning breathy as Sapnap’s fingers migrated downwards, scratching ever so gently on the sides of his lower tummy. “Sahahapnahahap!” He whined, knowing the other boy was aware of how bad that spot was, but Sapnap simply smiled and kept going.
Until Sapnap felt the hips underneath him shift, and he heard a small sound from the boy they belonged to. He slowed his hands to a stop, looking down at George, just in time to watch him turn his head away and close his eyes, attempting to keep his cool. Dream’s laughter fizzled out to soft residual giggles, quiet enough that George knew something had changed. He blinked his eyes open, starting to turn his head back, stopped when he caught Sapnap’s gaze staring down at him with a knowing smile on his face. He shut his eyes again and groaned, tilting his head back exasperatedly.
“What?” He mumbled, pout still present on his lips, but his fidgety hands still moved to rest on Sapnap’s knees, the contact clearly helping calm him as he swallowed his nerves and waited for a reply.
“Does someone want my attention?” Sapnap asked teasingly, and George immediately whined and squirmed at the question, his hips shifting as much as they could with Sapnap still sitting on top of his thighs. “I think my kitten might feel a little left out.”
“Shut upppp,” He protested, but he didn’t deny the accusation. Sapnap cooed, making him whine again, turning his head to the side and trying to hide in the pillows as much as he could. “I hate you.”
“Aww, it’s okay, George, I didn’t forget about you,” Sapnap reassured, pushing his hands up under George’s shirt now, quickly choosing his first choice spot. His palms rested on George’s sides, fingers curled around his torso, and his thumbs rested perfectly in the dip of his waist. Then, he curled his thumbs, using his nails to scratch right at that spot, as lightly as he could.
“Nohoho, no, nonono, nohot that–!” George protested, his hands gripping Sapnap’s knees even tighter, breathing heavily through his nose. He tensed up, his entire body going rigid and still, determined to hold his laughter in. His hands jumped up, grabbing onto Sapnap’s wrists and trying to pull him away, but the way his hands curled around his sides made his grip nearly impossible to loosen. “Sapnap, noho!”
This spot– perfectly in the dip of his waist– had always been one of Sapnap’s favorite ways to torment the poor man. It wasn’t his worst spot by any means, it probably wouldn’t even make the top ten, but both of them knew that it was the exact spot where, if Sapnap stayed there for an extended period of time, it would very, very quickly become completely unbearable.
Which was exactly Sapnap’s goal. And it took all of thirty seconds to start breaking down the wall George held up with all his might.
“Sahahap–“ He warned, biting his lip, his giggles starting to escape between whimpers and squirms. Once his squirming started, he couldn’t seem to stop, leaning away from whichever side felt worse and pushing into the opposite, repeating the motion over and over again. The same thing happened with his laughter, and once the first breakthrough was made, it wasn’t possible for him to home anything else in. “Oh myhy gohohohohod, oh my gohohod, stohop! Stohohop, I cahahan’t!”
“Does Dream even know about this spot?” Sapnap asked, looking over at Dream and getting an enthusiastic nod in response, his smile widening at the sight of George already getting lost to the tickles so early on.
"I dohohon't knohow! I don't knohohohow!" George responded without thinking, his laughter picking up further, growing more and more frantic as Sapnap kept going. His brain felt numb already, his head heavy when he tried to move it, like it was filled with lead. He was dizzy- this spot made him dizzy, the absolutely maddening sensation that just kept growing and growing, constant in that one tiny, tiny area, it made him feel light headed.
“Yes, you most certainly do, Georgie,” Dream said, but he knew George likely wouldn’t even process what he was saying. His hips bucked up suddenly, his laughter turning into more squeals and labored breathing as he truly hit the point of no return for one of the tiniest, most specific spots he had.
“NO, plehehehease! Plehease, Sahahap, PLEHEASE– I cahahan’t!” George begged, smacking his hands against the bed, before grabbing Sapnap’s hands again and pulling. He got nowhere, so he wrapped his hands around Sapnap’s thumbs to stop him instead, which worked for barely a few seconds.
“Hey!” Sapnap scolded, shifting his hands, now using his pointer fingers to dig in harshly to the same spot.
“AH! NOHOHOHO!” George squealed, shaking his head frantically, squeezing Sapnap tighter and squirming under his evil fingers. “SAPNAHAHAP!”
“What did we say about letting me do what I want?!”
“I’M SOHORRYHYHY! Plehehehease!” George begged, and Sapnap decided to finally take some pity on him, pulling his hands away and giving him a moment to breathe. “Oh my gohod…”
“You okay?” Dream asked softly, reaching over and taking one of George’s hands in his, smiling when George laced their fingers together and squeezed.
“Yeah…” He said, bringing his other hand up to run through his hair, dropping it next to his head afterwards.
“Good, ‘cause I’m gonna keep going,” Sapnap said, and without any further warning, he had a hand on both of their tummies, clawing at them over the t-shirts at the same time.
“AH– nahaha!” Dream immediately let out a squeal, maybe the most adorable sound Sapnap had ever heard, as he slammed his free hand over his mouth and yanked his other away from George’s to cover as much of his tummy as he could manage. Sapnap didn’t let this stop him, though, and he instead just settled on scratching his nails all around Dream’s hand, getting wherever he couldn’t cover, even as he kept moving his hand around to try to stop him. “No– ah! Sahap! Noho, Sahapnahap! No– NO! Stohohop ihihit! Stohohohop!” Dream kept up his squealing and squirming, batting at Sapnap’s hand, his legs kicking out against the bed as he giggled freely.
“I can’t stop when you’re so cute!” Sapnap teased, and Dream shook his head and squeezed his eyes shut again.
Sapnap turned his attention to George, who had covered his face with both hands to try and hide his reactions, clearly embarrassed by how breathy and high-pitched his gasps and giggles were. His tummy fluttered with each touch of Sapnap’s nails, his hips jumping as he flinched and squirmed away from the hand.
“This is really getting to you, isn’t it?”
“Shuhuhut uhup!” George whined, and suddenly both hands were clawing at his tummy instead. “AH! Sahahapnahap!” He squealed, sliding his hands up and grabbing his hair, clearly trying his best not to grab at Sapnap’s hands to stop him. Sapnap heard Dream giggle, and suddenly he switched to clawing at Dream’s tummy with both hands instead.
“OH– gohohod, noho waharnihihing?!” Dream yelled, jumping at the sudden change.
“Hm… nope!” Sapnap jumped back to George, making him squeal and whine again, shaking his head and reaching down to grab at Sapnap’s legs again, still squirming his hips and taking in grateful breaths when he went back to Dream a few seconds later. Though his relief didn’t last long, as the hands inevitably came back to him again.
“Nohoho, Sahap!” George whined, finally breaking and swatting at his hands. “Stahay over thehehere! Stahahay thehere!”
“Stay here? Okay!” Sapnap teased, making George shake his head helplessly.
“Nahahaha!” Sapnap was thrilled with how pliant he had managed to get George already, knowing his weakened and whining state would help him out immensely in the future. Still, he decided to take some pity on him.
“Yeah, you’re right, I have to give Dream another turn, don’t I?”
“Yehehes, yes!”
“Noho!” Dream giggled nervously, crossing his arms over his tummy and trying to protect the area as much as he could. Sapnap giggled, pulling back his hands, giving them both a moment to breathe. After he felt the time was sufficient, he spoke again, this time to Dream.
“Hey,” He said quietly, resting his hands on Dream’s arms, getting his attention. “Lift these up.”
“What?!” He asked in shock, his eyes wide as he tensed his arms to his sides instead. “No!”
“C’mon, Dreamie. I know you can do it, you’ve done it for me before.” Sapnap pushed on Dream’s arms, and he watched Dream’s eyes soften, seemingly considering his options. “C’mon. Put your arms behind your head for me.”
“But, I–“ He tried to fight, but the smile on Sapnap’s face was too caring for him to want to say no, as well as a reminder that he promised to let Sapnap do whatever he wanted. He sighed, crossing his arms behind his head and laying back against them, shifting around to get comfortable before looking up at Sapnap, and the excited look he had made everything worth it.
“Thank you, Dreamie,” Sapnap said, before gently scratching at Dream’s underarms, giggling along with him as he immediately tensed up and began to squirm.
“Gohohod…” He mumbled, bending his knees and swaying them in the air to keep his upper body still. “Thihis suhuhucks.”
“I know, but I’m really happy you’re letting me do it,” Sapnap said sweetly, making Dream whine and bend his elbows in to try and hide his face. Sapnap chuckled, gently trailing his wiggling fingers all the way down Dream’s sides, then back up again, over his ribs, sides, above his hips, and back to his underarms where he stayed for a moment longer. “This is good.”
“Shuhut uhup.” Suddenly, there were two fingers digging into Dream’s highest ribs on each side, making him yell out in shock and slam his arms down. “AHAHA, WHYHYHY?!” He asked, completely caught off guard, grabbing Sapnap’s hands and pulling him off, wrapping his arms around himself so he could breathe while Sapnap laughed at his reaction.
“I just wanted to see what would happen,” Sapnap explained, getting an eye roll and an amused smile from Dream, before he turned his attention back to George. “Your turn now.”
“What?! No, no, I can’t, no you–“ George denied, shaking his head, crossing his arms over his chest and holding his opposite shoulders to keep himself closed off. “Noho, you know I– you know–“
“Georgiiieee…” Sapnap sang, mirroring George’s position just to mock him. “You know you promised to let me do whatever I want.”
“But I–“
“Arms. Up.” Sapnap grabbed George’s elbows, pushing on them, but George just clamped them down tighter.
“Noho! No, no, plehease, don’t, Sapnahahap, DON’T–“ George continued to fight, pushing against Sapnap’s strength until his arms shook, but he could only go for so long. Sapnap was quickly able to pin his elbows down next to his head, squeezing his arms as he did.
“There!”
“C’monohon, that’s not fair!”
“You’re right, it’s not. You’re supposed to keep them there. So keep them here.”
“Noho!” George yelled, slamming them down against his sides as soon as Sapnap let him go. Sapnap raised his eyebrows, giving him a stern look, and George whined helplessly. He moved his arms again, getting about halfway up before slamming them down, nervous giggles making their way out of his mouth. He groaned, trying one more time, and that time Sapnap managed to shove his hands under his arms before he slammed them down again, making George squeal and clamp down even harder, shaking his head uselessly. “NAHAHA– nohohoho! PLEHEHEASE, plehease, Sahahap, plehehehease!”
“You’re such a baby, oh my god,” Sapnap teased, pulling his hands out and latching onto George’s ribs instead, making his laughter turn more frantic than ever, squirming so strongly it could convince someone that Sapnap was actually killing him.
“SAPNAHAHAHAP! STOHOHOP, PLEHEHEASE!” George pleaded as he held onto Sapnap’s wrists, trying desperately to pull him away, but he was too weakened by the tickles to be able to grab much more than one finger at a time. “IHI CAHAHA–!” Sapnap laughed along with him at his reactions, tightening his knees on either side of George’s hips to keep himself steady, his constant bucking and kicking nearly flinging him off. After a moment, he decided to give the poor boy a break, pulling his hands back and pressing down on George’s shoulders to stabilize him, giving him a chance to breathe and contain himself.
While also making it harder for him to squirm around to get rid of the ghost tickles.
“Oh myhyhy gohohohod…” George’s giggles continued at a constant pace, his torso jumping and flinching with the hopeless attempt to squirm away. His hips shifted under Sapnap’s body, pushing his shoulders up to try and get his hands away, but nothing worked. “Lehehet goho of mehehehe.”
“But this is so fun.”
“Sahapnahahap!”
“Ugh, okay, whatever,” He said with an eye roll, letting George’s shoulders go and sliding back to sit further down on his thighs instead.
Suddenly, he reached over to latch his hands onto Dream’s legs, squeezing right above his knees without any mercy. Dream absolutely screamed, yelling out in shock and jumping so hard it knocked Sapnap’s headboard against the wall.
“AH– GOHOHOD–!” Dream arched his back at the sensation, his legs kicking out against his will and attempting to dislodge the hands. When this didn’t work, he jolted upwards, attempting to sit up and reaching forward to grab at Sapnap’s hands to pull him off that way. In retaliation, Sapnap simply shoved him backwards so he'd fall back down and grabbed onto his hips instead, squeezing cruelly at the area right above them. “NOHOHO! SAHAP, STOHOP!” He protested, letting out a loud yelp when Sapnap’s thumbs dug into the sweet spot above his hip bone, bucking his hips and flinging Sapnap’s hands away.
“Holy fuck, Dream, you’re supposed to be the one who can stay still!” Sapnap commented, grabbing Dream’s hips and pulling him back down into his place. Dream covered his face in embarrassment, his cheeks bright red where his skin peaked between his fingers.
“Ihi cahahan’t hehelp ihihihit!” He defended, making the other two laugh, and Sapnap dug his thumbs in again. He let out another squeal, bringing his legs up in an attempt to fold himself in half, but one quick squeeze to his knees made him kick back out with another laugh.
Then, Sapnap moved back to his tummy, quickly grabbing the hem of Dream’s shirt that had already ridden up to show his lower tummy and pushing it the rest of the way up. Dream caught on immediately, his tummy jumping at the new air in his skin, shaking his head and protesting.
“Nohoho, nonono, Sahapnap, dohohon’t–!” He was cut off when Sapnap’s hands touched down, scribbling up and down the sides of his tummy and scratching all around his belly button, making him suck in his tummy and simultaneously arch his back, against his own volition. “Nahahahaha!” Dream’s laughter was high pitched and squeaky now, quickly turning breathless the longer the tickling went on.
“You’re doing way better than I expected you to,” Sapnap praised over his laughter, earning a groan in response.
“Shuhut UHUHUP!” He replied, trying to sound as angry as he could while giggling his head off, making Sapnap snort. The tickling migrated down to Dream’s lower tummy, and he gasped and threw one arm over his face, holding in his laughter as much as he could. It only lasted a few seconds though, before he broke out into helpless, high pitched giggles, taking in hiccupy breaths between every few as his hips twitched with each touch. His other hand landed on the bed, hitting the sheets a few times to expel any extra energy he couldn’t get out by squirming and kicking.
Then, suddenly, Sapnap dug his pointer fingers into the spot just next to his hipbones, another sweet spot that he knew was sure to make Dream scream, and he leaned down to blow the biggest raspberry he could manage right in the center of his stomach. As expected, Dream let out a loud yell, both hands immediately jumping to tangle his fingers in Sapnap’s hair, pulling him off and shoving at his hands.
“OKAHAHAY, OKAY, MIHINECRAHAHAFT, MINECRAFT, STOHOP, PLEHEHEASE!” Dream pleaded, and Sapnap did immediately, tugging Dream’s shirt back down and placing one palm flat on his tummy.
“Okay, Dreamie, okay, we’re done. We’re done,” He reassured, rubbing the ghost tickles away for him with firm pressure so he didn’t tickle him more. After a few moments, he leaned over George to reach down beside the bed, taking a water bottle out of the mini fridge he had next to his bed, twisting it open and handing it to Dream. “Here, drink this.” Dream took it gratefully, taking another big breath before propping himself up onto his elbow to gulp down the water he desperately needed.
“Thank you,” He whispered, smiling at Sapnap, flopping back down and continuing to breathe heavily.
“You okay?” Sapnap asked, amused, earning a nod.
“Yeah. Just gotta catch my breath. But yeah, I’m good…” Dream explained, and Sapnap hummed in understanding, taking Dream’s hand and pressing a kiss to his knuckles before turning his attention back to George underneath him.
“Alright. Your turn again, baby boy,” Sapnap teased, his smile turning sinister, and George's eyes widened immediately.
“What?! No! No, I thought you were done!” George’s squirming began again, trying to push at Sapnap’s knees. To his surprise, Sapnap did move, but it was clearly by his own choice, and he shifted to sit cross-legged next to George instead. George moved to squirm away, but he didn’t get the chance, because Sapnap simply grabbed his ankles and pinned them under his arm, trapping them in a headlock position. “No, Sapnap, don’t–“
“You don’t even know what I’m gonna do yet, idiot. You’re so squirmy over nothing.”
“This is not over nothing!” George argued, pulling at his legs, twisting his ankles leaning up onto his elbows to try and get a better angle– anything he could think of to get free, but nothing worked. Sapnap simply held tighter, yanking him closer so George’s legs were over his lap and he could hold further up his calves, knocking him off his elbows and back down flat. Before George could even think to sit up again, there was a hand between his thighs, squeezing the inner part of his right leg with absolutely no mercy. “NOHOHO! DOHON’T, PLEHEHEASE!” George screamed, his body thrashing, legs kicking desperately in Sapnap’s hold.
“There we go!” Sapnap exclaimed happily, thrilled with the reaction and how tortured George was sounding. “That’s what I wanted to hear!”
“NAHAHAHA!” George protested, shaking his head so frantically Sapnap was worried he might’ve given himself whiplash. The hand on his inner thigh continued squeezing, moving up and down his leg, staying at the spot right in the middle that made George scream out. “NOHOHO SAHAHAPNAP!” George reached forward to try and pull at Sapnap’s arm, but he couldn’t get a good grip, and his hand kept slipping away. It only became harder when Sapnap’s hand moved downward, squeezing the back of his thigh as he did, his entire hand curled around George’s knee, now digging into the back of it and making George arch his hips off the bed as his leg kicked helplessly. “FUHUCK, STOHOP! AHAHA, STOHOHOHOP!”
“I’m not hearing the safe word yet, George, you know when to use it,” Sapnap reminded, both to tease George about not stopping him yet and to make sure he still remembered it was an option. Quickly, he slid his hand back up, digging into the crease between George’s hip and thigh just a couple times, to make George flail and squeal– which is exactly what he did.
“NO– AH!” George yelped, his whole body jolting at the feeling that was gone as soon as it started.
Then, Sapnap switched arms, holding George’s ankles as tightly as he could in the opposite arm’s headlock, and then scribbled his nails up and down the soles of his socked feet without warning.
“OH SHIHIHIT– NOHOHO, SAHAHAPNAHAHAP, STOHOP IHIHIT–!” George’s voice was frantic, his body language desperate and hopeless, arching his back off the bed and turning himself to the side to bury his face in the pillow under him. He felt a hand touch his, gasping at the sudden touch, and he whipped his head around to see Dream lacing their fingers together gently to keep him grounded. Everything was just too much for him– his hand being held, the attention on him, the fingers tickling his feet, fast and rough with it, not giving George a second to breathe– it was making him dizzy. “PLEHEHEASE- PLEASE, IHI CAHAHA– I CAHAN’T–“ He took in a breath, swallowing against his dry throat, whimpering at the scratchiness he felt and slamming his free hand against the bed, gripping the sheets in his fist.
He couldn’t take any more, and Sapnap showed no signs of slowing down.
“SAHAP, STOHOHOP! MIHINECRAHAHAFT!” He yelled, and the immediate removal of the unbearable tickling filled him with so much relief he collapsed against the bed, jaw dropped as he took in as much oxygen as his body could, as quickly as he could. Sapnap broke into loud laughter as soon as the room went silent, Dream following quickly after, and George couldn’t help but laugh as well, whining in embarrassment. “It’s nohot funnyhyhy! Leave mehe alooooneee…” He complained, grabbing the pillow behind his head and pulling it over his face.
“It’s a little funny, Georgie,” Dream said, making George groan angrily, muffled by the pillow. Sapnap and Dream laughed again, but gave George a second to calm down still.
“I’m sorry, baby boy, I’m sorry. We’re done, it’s okay,” Sapnap soothed, patting George’s tummy gently, sliding his hands up his sides to his arms, pulling them down and taking the pillow away. “C’mon, you’re alright now, you can just chill. Here,” Sapnap said as he pushed George’s legs off his lap and leaned over to the fridge again, grabbing another bottle of water for George. George rolled his eyes but took it, pushing himself to sit up so he could open the water and drink some. In the meantime, Sapnap turned his attention to Dream, running a hand through his messy hair and cupping his cheek, rubbing his thumb gently under his eye. “You did really well. Both of you did a really good job. I really appreciate you letting me do that, even if it was really mean.”
“Hm…” Dream hummed, closing his eyes and melting into the touch. His hand came up to rest on top of Sapnap’s, almost comically large in comparison, but neither of them seemed to notice. “Of course. Anything for you. We love you.”
“Aw, Dreamie…” Sapnap whispered, smiling softly. “Turn over, I have an idea.” Dream fluttered his eyes open and nodded, trusting Sapnap wholeheartedly. He turned onto his tummy, wrapping his arms around the pillow and settling down against it, closing his eyes again. Sapnap smiled, fussing with his hair for a moment again before shifting over to straddle the backs of his thighs. Dream looked back at the sudden weight, but stayed relaxed. “Okay perfect, now you, c’mere,” He said, motioning to George, who looked over at him with wide eyes but slid over anyway. He let Sapnap pull him into place, and he ended up with his legs draped over Dream’s body, his head on Sapnap’s shoulder, and Sapnap’s hand on the back of his neck, running through the front of his hair before resting there and scratching at the soft curls.
George would never admit it, but all three of them could feel how instantly he relaxed into the hold, leaning against Sapnap’s chest.
“There we go,” Sapnap whispered, and his free hand dropped onto Dream’s back, gently scratching up and down his spine the way he knew Dream liked– even though it tickled like crazy. Dream gasped at first, shoulders tensing, but he relaxed even further after barely a second, letting out soft giggles and tiny kicks and squirms whenever Sapnap passed a good spot. “This is good, right?”
“Mhm,” George mumbled, nodding, Sapnap’s fingers practically putting him to sleep– and Dream was no better. “You had fun with that?”
“Oh my god, of course I did. How could I not when you’re both so cute?” Sapnap replied, making George hide in his neck and giggle, squirming to get closer. George always tended to get shy after tickles, and sometimes– if Sapnap was lucky– he’d get clingy too, only wanting to cuddle and nap and never let go.
It seemed Sapnap was lucky that day.
After a long while of silence, Sapnap took his hand off George's neck to reach for the remote, turning Death Note back on and lowering the volume, knowing George liked to have something on as background noise so he could relax easier. He took George's hand in his, bringing his palm up to his mouth and pressing a soft kiss to it. George giggled at the feeling, scrunching his nose up and shaking his head.
"Whahat are you doihing?" He asked through giggles, his hand flinching when Sapnap did it again.
"Giving you kisses," He said, doing it again. "Duh." Another kiss, each one making George flinch and giggle more.
"Yohou're duhumb. Let go." George tugged on his hand. Sapnap pulled his wrist closer, placing another kiss, and George's entire body jolted at that one.
"Stohop," He said in a fake stern voice.
"Nah. Bet my beard is tickling you too, huh?"
"Noho!" George denied, but Sapnap simply held his hand up to his mouth with both of his, making sure George couldn't pull away. He then continued to kiss at George's palm, over his fingers, up to his wrist, making sure to scratch his beard against his hand as he did it. "Nahaha! Sahahap! Thihihis ihis stuhupihihid, stohop!" George said through his giggles, his voice breathy and high in his throat. He squirmed at the feeling, pushing at Sapnap's head with his free hand, tapping his toes against the bed as he did so. After a few moments of this, George whined again. "Okay, okahahay, stohohop, it feels weheheird on my hahahand, c'mohon–“ He explained, and Sapnap let him go with one final, overdramatic kiss that he punctuated with a silly 'mwah!' sound effect. George giggled as he wiped his hand off on his pants, shaking his head and scrunching his nose at Sapnap, before leaning back against his shoulder again.
A moment later, Sapnap leaned down slightly, and he could see that Dream had fallen asleep, he smiled softly, wordlessly motioning for George to lay down as well, and he pulled his special Houston Rockets blanket over all three of them as he pulled George in to cuddle closer.
“How are you feeling?” He asked, knowing George’s mind could either go racing or go completely blank after tickles, and George hummed contentedly.
“M’good,” He replied sleepily, curling up against Sapnap’s chest and tugging him in by his hips. Sapnap giggled at the sudden pull, pressing a kiss to George’s temple and reaching over to make sure his hand stayed in contact with Dream’s arm behind George’s head, and they both joined Dream in a quick nap soon after.
And of course, the next day was filled with plenty of glorious revenge birthday tickles– after all, it was still Sapnap’s birthday.

Dukeceit Week 2024 Day 3, Cats!
Dukeceit Week 2024 is run by @imnotgrimimjustagrumpyreaper ! Also tagging @dukeceitweek ! Day three!!!
This one is a bit heavier than yesterday, trigger warning, Remus is just coming out of a hypomanic episode. Nothing serious has happened except for him impulsively jumping in a river which I imagine to be the Ohio River because I grew up by the Ohio River and it scares me lol. Remus's experiences are heavily based on my own experiences with hypomania.
However it is still quite fluffy, more hurt comfort than anything focused on the actual hypomanic experience! Their dynamic is once again very heavily inspired by TMDORG by Grim!
Ao3
Remus hit Janus’s doorbell and shifted his weight from one foot to the other, hyper aware of the water dripping off of him and pooling by his feet.
Janus opened the door and looked him up and down. “It’s March.”
“Yeah.”
“You went swimming?”
Remus shrugged. “Yeah.”
Janus opened the door. “Come in.”
Remus came in. He’d never actually been to Janus’s apartment. While they’d been hanging out in the same small circle of six people since high school, Remus had never been as close with Janus as he had with the others.
Which is exactly why he’d tracked him down on the Find My iPhone app.
Remus had already made a promise in some manner or another to all their other friends that he’d tell them if he was having a hypomanic episode, no matter how brief. And he was scared to tell them that it had been four days, four days that he hadn’t talked to them, and he was finally beginning to crash.
Remus had been so immersed in his thoughts that didn’t even realize Janus had walked out of the room until he was walking back in with a towel and a matching fluffy robe.
“Here.” Janus held them out to him.
“Thanks.” Remus gave a small smile, then glanced around for the bathroom.
“That way.” Janus motioned his head to the left. Remus nodded and walked over to the door, which did indeed lead to a bathroom.
“Do you mind if I take a shower?”
“Not at all.” Janus offered a small smile.
“Thank you, Jan.”
“Of course.”
As Remus stood under the water he’d turned on so hot it was nearly burning his skin, he was thinking about what he’d say to Janus when he went back out. He ran through a few things in his mind before he decided he didn’t like any of them and that he’d just vibe it.
He looked for a moment at Janus’s assortment of colorful bottles on the corner ledge. He saw at least three which looked like some version of body wash, so he opened the top of each one and smelled them. He decided on a rosemary and lavender scented gel in an appropriately purple bottle.
He closed his eyes as he tilted his head back into the water, letting it wash the bubbles off his skin.
Remus slipped on the robe once he’d dried off. It was deep grey and soft, with a small snake emblem embroidered on the left breast.
Janus raised his eyebrows when Remus walked back out. “You look like a cooked lobster.”
“Do I?” Remus waggled his own eyebrows. “Good enough to eat?”
Janus rolled his eyes. “Sure.” He patted the couch beside him. “Sit.”
Remus climbed over the arm of the couch to sit where Janus had indicated, hugging his knees against his chest.
 “Uncurl.”
Remus fixed him with a suspicious look. “Why should I?”
“Because I made you hot chocolate, and I’ll only give it to you if you open up and tell me what’s going on.”
Remus sighed, eyeing the black mug in Janus’s hand. He made a grabbing motion, and Janus handed it to him as he let his feet fall to the floor. He held it between his palms, looking down at the mini marshmallows.
“I had an episode. That’s why I was all wet, I had this impulsive thought to jump in the river.”
“The river?” Janus’s eyes widened. “The river’s gross. How did you not get eaten by a giant catfish or something?”
Remus shrugged. “Beats me. The water was so cold, though… it kinda snapped me out of my head. I was like, ‘what am I doing?’ Usually, I don’t have those sorta self-aware moments, but today… I guess it was just different.”
Janus only nodded, encouraging Remus to continue, so Remus continued.
“I don’t know, I told everyone I’d tell them if I needed anything, or if I got manic, or I suppose hypomanic. And I didn’t. And I was worried they’d get all mad at me, so I figured I’d go to the one person I hadn’t made that deal with.”
Janus nodded again. “I see. I’m really glad you came, Remus.” He gave a gentle smile. “I’m glad a catfish didn’t get you.”
Remus laughed. “I am too, Janus.”
“Do you want to talk more, or do you want to do something else?”
Remus considered for a moment. “I’m really tired… can I just have a pillow or something for the couch?”
“My bed’s a queen.” Janus tilted his head. “That’s definitely big enough for two.”
“Jan, I don’t want to encroach—”
“You’re not encroaching. I’m offering.”
Remus examined his face for a moment, looking for a hint of hesitation he couldn’t find. “Then, yes. I accept your offer.”
Janus smiled. “Come on.”
Remus trailed behind him into his bedroom, which was neat and tidy and yellow and black. It looked exactly like what Remus expected Janus’s bedroom to look like.
“Here, let me get you a T-shirt and some shorts, and I’ll brush my teeth, and we can get to sleep.”
Remus changed in the bedroom as Janus was in the bathroom. It all felt so domestic, getting changed from a robe into pajamas. Getting ready to sleep in a bed together.
Remus felt like he could get used to this.
Janus walked back in, pulling his long hair back into a ponytail and looking past him to the bed. “Get out of there, Python.”
Remus turned to see a dark grey cat leap off the bed, looking at him with wide yellow eyes before disappearing.
“Python? Like the snake?”
“Like the programming language.” Janus grinned. “You know I’m a STEM guy.”
“God, you are such a nerd.” Remus pulled back the grey striped comforter, getting into the left side of the bed while Janus climbed into the right.
“Can… how do you want to do this?” Janus asked.
“Um… I…” Remus swallowed. “Do you mind holding my hand?”
“All night?”
“You don’t have to.”
Janus’s hand found his, warm, stable, comforting. “Anything that will make you feel better.”
“Thank you.” Remus whispered as Janus’s other hand clicked off the bedside table light.
“Of course, Remus.” Janus whispered back into the darkness. “Do I smell… did you use my body wash? The lavender rosemary?”
“I did. I hope that’s—”
“Oh, it’s fine.” Janus squeezed his hand. “I don’t mind. Just was wondering.”
“Okay.” Remus squeezed back. “You always smell nice, I wanted to smell nice, too.”
“I smell nice, do I?”
“You do.” Remus scooted infinitesimally closer to him.
“Mm. Thank you.” Janus hummed, and Remus could’ve sworn he shifted a bit towards him, too.

Random but... Sabosan modern au thoughts?? (if you like it, of course) 👀
modern au my beloved (also sabosan in my asks i cheered)
anyway !!! i love modern au So Much and like there will be many different versions because im indecisive <3 but my favorite one is college au (thank you one piece academy for being my inspiration for some things. like thank u for giving me cafe worker sabo???) + im a college student as well... not that i have a social life but it'd be nice to have your favorites in your situations. i wont lie, it's hard to imagine ace and luffy in college. maybe ace has a better chance but luffy? hard to imagine unless hes into gymnastics or something but anyway this is about sabosan
sabo and sanji meeting is inevitable thanks to luffy. but it was more like passing by and just meeting luffy's friends at their house. however, sanji cannot keep his eyes off sabo and he hoped that no one would notice (they did. except sabo) out of respect though, no one brings it up or forces it out of him. they do tease him here and there but it all falls on sanji's shoulders and he gotta deal with it himself. but luffy is always willing to help if sanji asked. luffy tells him where to meet him and where he works, he doesnt have every little detail as these two were just the biggest ones.
again, sabo works at a cafe so sanji decides to go there and check it out in his free time. sanji just chills there and straightforwardly asks to talk to sabo (doesnt specify what) and bc he was luffy's friend, sabo was willing to listen. he does ask to go on a small break for this as he thought it was something urgent but a small talk was fine. i think sanji was a little awkward on how to approach this cause he honestly had no idea how exactly he felt about sabo (still questioned his sexuality poor guy) like did he have a crush on him or simply felt like being his friend? who knows! anyway sabo carried most of the conversation til sanji felt more comfortable to open up a little bit. they do have a great time talking and bond about luffy before sabo had to work again, but he invited sanji out once his shift ends.
after hours they end up strolling around the neighborhood before it got too dark and sanji really liked to be around his presence. he seemed very gentleman like, too. and sabo's relationship with his coworker/friend reminded sanji of luffy and another certain redhead. sanji noticed that sabo was able to cook and offered recipes which sabo was eternally grateful for. as the day ends, sanji thought he hit it off with sabo well. and even before heading home, sabo handed sanji his phone number so that they could make plans to hang out more or even just talk over the phone. (though it kinda complicates things more for sanji bc first off he had a "love at first sight" moment when he laid eyes on sabo, and every time he saw him whenever he'd visit luffy, it was hard to Not Look at sabo every time his presence is felt. and now sanji finally mustered up the courage to talk and officially befriend sabo just to get his number at the end? not only that they technically went on a mini date after his shift? even if it was a little stroll, sanji would be lying if he said his heart wasnt going to jump out at any moment)
on sabo's end, he admired sanji and was grateful to have someone like him look after his little brother in his stead sometimes. as mentioned before, sabo did Not notice sanji's glances at all so he was a bit surprised that sanji would talk to him.
theyre dynamic in modern au is friends to lovers but also mutual pining bc theyre silly like that

Yesterday I finally saw “Barbie”, required watching for both the Woke and the AntiWoke.
Tumblr media
Ryan Gosling never looked so buff or Simu Liu so sexy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But I’m not here to talk about them.
There was something wrong that I could not place my finger on and after getting home I looked at several Barbie-sucks YouTube videos. They all had a point but weren’t quite MY point.
Tumblr media
In Barbieland, the Barbies and Kens all live totally separate existences but also get along in perfect harmony. Nobody seems to give a second thought that the Barbies hold all positions of importance, all the way down to the janitors (arguably important because they actually hold a job), while the Kens are LITERALLY just decoration. Genitalia, thus libido per se, does not exist so neither does romance nor drama between the sexes. True, the Kens seem a little frustrated, but they manage while in truth there is nothing substantial going in the Barbies’ lives either.
Tumblr media
At Barbie’s dream house, every night is “girl’s night”. Nobody knows what happens to the Kens at night, not even where they supposedly live. Girls hang with girls and boys with boys.
Tumblr media
In other words, it’s a queer, queer, queer, queer world. Queer and peaceful and happy. All the fucking time. But of course no one fucks at all. Or ever. All that Ken meat and muscle around and not even a neck rub.
All that changes after Ken has seen the human world where Kens (men) are not just decoration but have this thing called Patriarchy which makes them important. And they have horses. Ken realizes this is what Barbieland needs: Patriarchy!
Tumblr media
Ken gets back to B-land before Barbie does and gets to work. In what seems to be the space of a few hours, B-land is totally transformed and all the Kens have seduced the Barbies and are acting like rednecks. With mini-fridges full of beer.
Stereotype-Barbie returns horrified. B-land has become sexualized, and heterosexualized at that!
We’re not in Pleasantville anymore... (Speaking of which, Reese Witherspoon would have been much better as Barbie than Margot Robbie)
The fact that Stereo Barbie is horrified and works hard to get Barbieland back to the way it was (Pleasantville style), is what horrified so many reviewers. But others say that is exactly the point. But again, I’m not going there.
I had another take.
Seeing how in Barbieland, no one goes hungry (they can’t eat), they can beach all day and dance all night, and boys and girls are allowed (meant?) to live separate lives, it seems like a total queer utopia.
Tumblr media
So the sudden loss of innocence in the Ken boytoys was particular poignant from
the perspective of a gay kid.
For most queersons, puberty is a time when their whole lives —fantasies and all—are reduced to a shambles, and they spend the next several decades trying to put everything back together again, only in a different grown-up version. There are no blueprints or social guidelines that serve as hints along the way.
So yeah, I understand Barbie’s horror though not for the same reasons. You can never go back to how it was.
What happened after that, well you can go see it yourself and see where you might fit in.
Anyway, I was hoping for some kind of funky version of La La Land mixed in with Pleasantville and the Truman Show, but Barbie was no La La Land. And that’s OK I guess.
You go out and watch it and see for yourself.

Farewell to You, ch 3
They turned, seeing that Ritchie, Duplica, and Todd also arrived. Ritchie and Duplica were holding hands.
Brock smiled, "Hey Ritchie, long time no see! I didn't know you were dating Duplica."
Ritchie blushed, "Well, we've been keeping it quiet for now. This is our first event together."
Duplica winked, "You got that right!"
Sparky did a peace sign, "Pika pika!"
Mini Dit had transformed into a version of Pikachu, intimidating Sparky. "Pika, pika!"
Todd took their picture, "They are just so photogenic."
Dawn walked over to him, "You look familiar... Are you Todd Snap?"
Todd replied, "That's me!"
Dawn squealed, "Eep, you're the photographer that Hermoine asked to come?"
Todd confirmed, "Yes, correct."
May was a bit confused, "Wait you meet thee Hermoine from the Hearthome Collection?"
Dawn turned to her friend, "Yeah I met her, Paris, and Paris' Lopunny when the Collection started. They wanted nothing but the best photographer for the Poke Chic magazine!"
Todd modestly stated, "Well I don't know if I am the best but I do a pretty decent job."
May responded, "Didn't Ash once tell me that you took a picture of an Articuno?"
Dawn gasped, "Whoa, for real?"
Todd nodded, "Yeah, I even brought the print. Hang on." Todd searched his pockets for a minute before he finally took out a small, faded print. He told Dawn, "I had planned to use this picture to help win over the job but it doesn't feel like the edge they are going for."
Dawn breathed, "It is beautiful..." She gave the print back to Todd and offered, "Maybe seeing a contest might give you an edge?"
Todd thought for a moment, "It's not a bad idea but right now, I'm not sure if it'll help."
Zoey teased, "I think Dawn just wants to do a contest right now."
To that, Dawn blushed out of embarrassment. Todd just chuckled, slightly blushing at Zoey. Dawn perked up. She thought, 'Does Todd like Zoey?' That's when the population of Pallet Town arrived too. Everyone greeted each other. They started to laugh and talk. Even though the guests of honor hadn't arrived yet, everyone seemed to be having a good time. Scott had finally arrived. With him were: Palmer, Johanna, Norman, Caroline, Brandon, Luka, Lance, Prima, Steven, Reggie, Maylene, Cynthia, and Wallace.
Max teased, "I think you brought the crowd there, Scott."
Scott laughed, "Yeah, you aren't kidding."
Paul turned to his brother, "Glad you came."
Reggie smiled, "Hey thanks, me too."
Ranee told Maylene, "I am so happy for you two."
Maylene blushed, "Thanks Ranee."
Cynthia stated, "It seems almost everyone is here and everything is done."
Steven replied, "Yeah, you're right about that. I was hoping we got here earlier though. I would've liked to set up."
Delia offered, "You can always help with the cleaning."
Steven responded, "I would love to help you with the cleaning, ma'am."
Cynthia told him, "See? It all worked out."
Steven said, "I know, you are right."
Cynthia teased, "Aren't I always?"
To that, everyone laughed. Steven took Cynthia's hand, lacing their fingers. Cynthia squeezed his hand gently. Norman and Caroline smiled at them.
Johanna stated, "I am so glad that Cynthia is happy."
Dawn teased, "You're not happy for me, mom?"
Johanna giggled, "I'm always proud of you, sweetie. And yes, I know you're teasing me."
Dawn smiled, "Of course."
Dawn and Johanna had a hug, both of them smiling. They parted from the hug.
Palmer commented, "I am glad that I could make it."
Barry said, "I was worried that you wouldn't, Dad."
Palmer stated, "Same, Barry. But Scott has an important announcement later today."
Bianca pointed out, "You know, I noticed something. Where are the other Battle Frontier Brains?"
Before Palmer could answer, Scott did. "They didn't come. It's because I'm thinking of closing up the Battle Frontier operations in both Hoenn and Sinnoh. It's no secret that I'm getting older and I don't have anyone to take over for me."
"What?!"
Paul asked, "Does that mean I won't be able to challenge Brandon ever again?"
Scott answered, "Well, I won't close it down just yet. It will happen more at the end of the year."
Paul just kept quiet. While he did want the Battle Frontiers to close down, he saw Scott's point.
Ranee asked, "So does that mean the other Battle Frontier brains aren't coming?"
Scott admitted, "No, they are starting to close up shop."
Ranee stated, "Understandable."
"Hey everyone!"
That's when Ash, Pikachu, and Misty arrived. Her Azurill had evolved into Marill.
"Ash!"
Everyone went over to them, congratulating the new world champion.
Ash smiled at everyone, "Hey thanks everyone! But all the credit goes to my team. Especially Pikachu."
To that, Pikachu blushed but proudly.
Dawn told the Electric type, "Oh, someone's been waiting to see you!"
Pikachu perked up before he blushed out of love. Dawn threw a pokeball and out came her Buneary. Buneary looked around.
"Bun?" She asked. That's when she saw Pikachu. She covered her eyes with her fur, shyly. She said, "Buneary!"
Pikachu ran over to Buneary happily. "Pika pika!"
As the two got acquainted again, Misty watched Ash. She couldn't help but wonder...
"Hey sis!" Violet said. "'Bout time you and your boyfriend got here!"
Misty turned red as did Ash, "We're not dating!"
To that, Violet just giggled. It was just too easy.
...
As the party started in Pallet Town, in a far off corner of the Orange Islands, Lawrence III was looking out of his jail cell window. It had been a long time, at least it seemed that way to him, that he'd be in here. He often wondered if she ever found his records. He had hoped not.
...
Sadly, she did. Her name was Yoni, Lawrence's cousin. She had short light green hair, blue eyes, wearing an orange long sleeved blouse, a short orange skirt, and short orange boots. She was wearing an orange medaillon and long orange earrings. She had found Lawrence's notes and had created her own airship. It looked a lot like her cousins but it was smaller in appearance. She didn't want to attract any attention.
She said to the computer, "Soon, we collect the three pawns, the rook, and the queen. And that should flush out the king."
The computer said, "Analysis shows that there is a high voltage coming from Lumiose City in Kalos."
Yoni told it, "Then let's fly that way."
The computer did as it was told and headed in the direction of Kalos.
...
Wishmaker1028: Another chapter bites the dust! Or the Dustox! Hahaha, that was bad. Anyways, please read and review! And always think outside of the box!

The Crying Child witnessed Charolette Emily's Death (a theory) Part 2.
Continuing with my theory, there is one thing that needs to be mentioned. When fans were figuring out what the Crying child witnessed that made so distress. The biggest one is that he witnessed the death of his sister Elizabeth. While yes, seeing your sibling being killed right in front of you is traumatising. We know that Circus Baby's Pizza World was openly opened in one day. With him saying the four animatronics plushies are his friends and the fact that he keeps going back to the Pizzeria itself. It makes sense that It is FredBear's Family Diner that he has a problem with. The reason why, he goes there it's because that where his dad, William Afton to get away from his older brother Michael Afton who keeps making things worse for him.
Tumblr media
With the missing Children taking place in 1985, it only make sense that the crying child witnessed Charlie's death rather then anyone else's. Another thing to note that the the crying child's favourite ride was the Carousel, the first and only time we see a caurosel up until FNAF Help Wanted 2 is in FNAF 2 where it's located near Balloon Boy, Scott Cawthon said that Nightmare Balloon Boy is Canon which the rest of the other Halloween animatronics are not, however I do think Nightmarrione whom is nightmare version of the puppet could be know seen as Canon. Another thing I believe that the Crying Child may have seen the death of Charlie is because how connected they are. Let's start with the fact that their father were co-owners of Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria and FredBear's Family Diner. Charlie's age could be either close to Elizabeth and the crying child meaning they may have hang out with one and another.
Another thing is that Steel Wool is probably telling us that Charlie's death and The Crying Child's death took place in the same year. During FNAF Help Wanted 2, you have to collect 6 memory plushies. Many of the plushies tend to be found in games where they have some associated with. Bonnie is found in bonk a Bon, you gotta make 4 chica related food and drinks to get chica, foxy is found in the log ride and freddy is found in fazerblast after being the place getting burnt down.
However the puppet and the golden Freddy's whereabouts are opposite to themselves. The Puppet plushie is found in a sister location game where you opened the drawers and type 1983 to get it. I thought that this was strange because the puppet doesn't have any connection to sister location nor the year itself, while the Golden freddy plushie is found in the hard mode in Fizzy Faz Night 3 where the staff bots are replaced by the nightmare Bots that look like nightmarionne. So it would make sense If they switch the puppet plushie and the golden freddy plushie since 1983 has always been associated with the crying child whom passed away at the year and is one of 2 kids whom possessed Golden Freddy. This is steel wool telling us that 1983 is not only the year where the crying child head gets his head crush but it was also the year of Charlie's Death and I believe that midnight motorist show us that.
When it comes to midnight motorist, the one thing I do find interesting is how sympathetic Michael is towards his little brother. Through the Mini game in FNAF 4, Michael and his friends keep scaring him which causes him to breakdown and cry but in the midnight motorist he is telling his dad to leave him alone since he had a rough day. I see this as at one point, Michael sympathetic towards the crying child because they are mourning over the lost of their sister. I think that William Afton used Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria as his hunting ground and in order to keep his youngest son from going to the place. He probably had Michael to scare him so he ends up fearing the place, however the crying child isn't scared of Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria but rather he's scared of Fredbear's Family Diner and the he witnessed Charlie's death outside and it traumatised him so bad.

Hello!!!! I’ve been following you for ages and I know that you’re a big CritRole fan. I’ve never really been able to get into it, cuz the thought of going back and watching it all from scratch is supremely intimidating. However. I finished all of EXU Calamity in a weekend (and lost my entire fucking mind) and I’m really enjoying TLOVM show. Do you have any tips for watching any parts of C1, C2, or C3 in addition to that? Or would it be smarter to wait for C4 to start and go fresh from there?
Hello dear, lovely to hear from you. I hope you're doing well.
Critical Role is very intimidating to get into. I was fortunate that I got into it early on, roughly a year after they started filming, so it didn't take me as long to catch up. Anyone trying to get into it now is going to feel daunted, that's for sure. Unfortunately, D&D sessions do tend to run long, I know my group's average is 4 hours and we used to run for up to six when we had more open schedules.
Calamity is a fantastic place for any newbie to start. There are other oneshots and mini-campaigns they've done too, like Taliesin's eldtrich horror mini campaign, the Undeadwood campaign, and Marisha's Honey Heist and its sequel. Calamity introduces you to the world and is just. brilliant improv storytelling from all the players. but it's only six episodes for the complete story. So if anyone reading this ask wants to bite into a good tragedy and wants to know what the whole TTRPG craze is about, Calamity is a great one.
When it comes to the full campaigns... you kind of have to resign yourself to the fact that it'll take a while. Campaign four won't start for another year or two, and so you can wait until then, but that is a bit of time to hold out.
I would personally recommend you listen to campaign one. Campaign two seems to be the favorite for the majority of fans, but since you've already watched TLOVM, which is based on campaign one, that'll give you some background info and a baseline to help you get into the swing of things. The first few episodes will be a bit rough, since the cast is getting used to being filmed in a studio rather than hanging in a living room, but you'll be surprised by how fast you latch onto the characters.
Additionally, I think it's just fun to watch the cast journey from being in a spare room at the Geek & Sundry studios, to their own studio, slowly decorating that studio, then moving to a bigger studio, which is where they'll stay for campaign two. it's just nice, in my opinion, to see those little details as the show grows in real-time.
My friend recommends listening at 1.25 speed, and sometimes she speeds up the combat to 1.5 speed. You can also listen rather than watch, as some of my friends have done, so you can listen (either just put the video on and don't look, or they have created podcast versions of the episodes - nothing changed in content, just made it into an audio file to download) while doing other things like folding laundry. I prefer watching, to see facial expressions and nonverbal reactions, but given that this is a popular option among my friends, I don't think you'll miss anything too vital. And you can always supplement with YouTube compilation videos of reactions and favorite moments!
I can also say that it'll go faster than you think it will. You'll be surprised at how quickly you can blow through a few episodes.
So, yes, either wait a year or two, or resign yourself for a commitment, unfortunately that's kinda how it goes. You can't really skip episodes or only do "highlight" episodes since so much happens in each one, you can miss a lot of context. If that still intimidates you I'd really recommend diving into the other mini campaigns and oneshots they've done like Honey Heist, Undeadwood, etc.
Also, if you liked Calamity, then I recommend Dimension 20. Brennan Lee Mulligan is the game master for that crew, just as he was in Calamity, and their campaigns are a lot shorter. So that can also help you get into the TTRPG show groove. Their campaigns tend to run 15-20 episodes and the mini campaigns are around 6.
Again if you are going to dive into a full CR campaign I recommend the first campaign with Vox Machina since you already know the characters and a lot of the plot arcs - and it's fun to watch TLOVM when you've seen campaign one, since you can see how it's a truncated "this is the legend" version while the CR campaign is "now here's what really happened with these dumbasses." But campaign two is the more popular campaign so there's nothing wrong with starting there.
I hope that all this has been helpful! Good luck on your CR/TTRPG show journey!

A Place of a Contemplating Robot
I went with something more low-key. Jenny deserves some quiet, calm time now and then.😊(Also, a little reference in the title, and not just to the og show😉)
Really wanted to get another loose illustration out in time for the 20th anniversary. Plus, I’ve been meaning to do a calm piece. Between Jenny’s world-saving duty, life drama, robot-related issues, & people’s pettiness (sometimes including her own😓), I thought that she could use time to herself. That 3rd reason kinda sounds like sending a kid off to timeout for misbehavior, but hey, there might be stress behind that pettiness.🤷‍♀️ She does have the weight of the world on her shoulders. That, or it might be timeout-like after all😆 where she gets alone time to directly face her mental problems, with no physical problems to distract her.🤔
Or more interesting: needing to handle her mental problem in order to handle her physical one.🤯
Some might think calmer moments are boring, but I consider it a welcomed, necessary breath of fresh air, especially as someone who had a loud, tense upbringing.
Mini Journal
Ended up needing to keep my iPad charging the whole time; larger resolution (11x14” @ 300dpi) *and* Fresco’s live watercolor brushes drained it more quickly (~20% in 20 minutes). Even then, still a lot of crashes once I finished the sidewalk and bench. Now, only rarely do at that resolution. Watercolor-styled pieces will likely be 9x12” @ 300dpi, max.
Far more painful painting process in a full space. In a way, more directly an urban-sketching styled piece because now, it’s in a physical place instead of a void w/ colors! Similar to before, I mitigated some of the difficulty by using an analogous color scheme. This time, I really struggled with working w/ whitespace, like in Teoh Yi Chie’s or Liz Steel’s urban sketching styles.
What helped may have been a style I saw in this colored pencil Liz Steel piece https://www.lizsteel.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/LizSteel-159-1104CafeFeohPacHwy.jpg , where sidewalk & road are white, & the only blocks of color are for cast shadows.
Self-Reference
I got into the pose myself, mainly to fix her bent leg & folded hands. In the end, moved the bend leg up, just showed her right hands’ fingers & her left hand’s index finger, & unbent her other leg. Tried to focus on the feeling & gesture of the pose, rather than follow the pose exactly to a T. Mlaatr is just about the perfect style for that, being a gestural cartoon.
Concurrent Illustrating & Post/Note-Taking
I illustrated & prepped my post at same time (...at least until I got to painting the sidewalk😥). In a way, it’s kinda good I didn’t do it this way before, since I didn't have set categories (like Behind-the scenes or Mini Journal) yet. Nonetheless, I still tried to be as organized as possible by having a preliminary & final version of the post on a Google Doc (especially since ELA has been my historical weak area😥).
Behind-the-Scenes: Story, Color Scheme, & Color Application Influences.
Tone & situation/implied story: the 1998 Yokohama Shopping Log OVA, with a robot (in YSL's case, a more human-like android) just hanging out and living life. Maybe even resolving some past problems or relationships.
Color scheme & watercolor style:
grass: how he colored the tree leaves here, by letting the colors mix on the page instead of mixing them himself. https://twitter.com/ParkaBlogs/status/1682275817668362240?s=20
sidewalk: after a lot of struggling, went with Liz Steel’s colored pencil technique: layering lots of colors, especially in shadow areas https://www.lizsteel.com/switching-to-coloured-pencils/ , along with, as noted w/ the first colored pencil sketch I listed, having the rest of the roads/sidewalks be white—controlling whitespace
Art Supplies
Hardware: iPad mini 5th gen & Apple pencil 1st gen
Software: Adobe Fresco
Brushes:
Lineart: Pencil [default Adobe Fresco brush]
Color:
Watercolor wash flat (grass, bench, bench shadow, sidewalk, Jenny clothes & hair)
Watercolor wash soft (sky)
Watercolor basic round (Jenny shadows)
Block stain (bench shadow 2nd pass)

Actually you know what else I haven’t really talked about? Suzu’s affection events!!!! I’m shocked I haven’t mentioned anything about them yet, so let me go through the ones I’ve seen so far!
Affection Event 1
Me: Ooh there are several different ways a first event can go! But they usually start off simple and easy enough!
Suzu: Hey, Tachibana, can you help me with kissing practice?
Me: 😳
Suzu really knows how to start off strong, doesn’t he? It ended up being adorably funny with the guy being unable to go through with it, but man there was a moment there where I was truly holding my breath!
Affection Event 2
This event is a priceless treasure if for no other reason than listening to Suzu’s version of playing a Jeanne! The CG really added to the beauty of this whole moment 😂😂😂 Anyways I really liked Kisa and Suzu’s conversation about Jack and Jeanne roles and how Suzu realized Jack roles suit him best while he has pure faith in Kisa’s ability to excel in both roles! Also I found it funny that they brought up The Sleepless King to drive home the idea that Suzu can’t be a Jeanne because I mentioned before I ordered the Jack Jeanne shuffle mini album. The album takes some of the songs from Quartz’s plays and switches who plays what roles, thus changing who sings what part of the songs, and so you get a little experience of hearing other characters’ interpretations of certain play characters. The reason I bring it up is because for the shuffle version of Fortune Color is Crystal from The Sleepless King…they had Suzu as the Maiden and Kisa as the King!
Affection Event 3
Oooh, the classic “see person I like (in what way I’m not sure yet) with another and assume they’re dating” trope! Suzu ran into Kisa hanging out with Ao and and thought Ao was Kisa’s girlfriend and got bothered by it. But you know I like how Suzu handled the situation! He didn’t act badly towards Ao, didn’t bother Kisa and Ao, didn’t butt into their outing, or anything like that. He immediately and politely removed himself from the situation. Also I love that Ao immediately read the situation correctly and was like “Kisa screw shoujo misunderstanding bullshit!!! Go find Suzu and clear things up with him ASAP!” Suzu being soooo blatantly happy Kisa really is single 😂 Sweetheart, you’re incredible!
Affection Event 4
Gosh I was soooooooooo fucking stressed for Kisa in this event, my poor girl. The way I was sitting at the edge of my seat just wanting her to get away from that weird guy! And I was so happy about how Suzu addressed the whole situation. When he called Kisa by chance and realized how scared she sounded he immediately and calmly got details, gave Kisa good advice to enter a nearby restaurant and promised to come right away to get her. When he reached Kisa he made sure to get between her and the weirdo. Even when it was revealed the guy was a Univeil fan Suzu made the absolutely correct point that it doesn’t change the fact that he was being super creepy about it. And when the guy ran off he made sure to specifically ask Kisa what SHE wanted instead of just running after the guy to yell at him/get him to apologize. And he was so calming and reassuring when speaking to a clearly stressed and scared Kisa and, my favorite thing, didn’t hesitate to hug her when he saw she needed some comfort. The ending of this event is what made me really suspect that Suzu has figured out Kisa’s gender…
Affection Event 5
Kissing Practice….2!!!!!!! With even more breath holding from yours truly because holy fuck the build up and the CG for their almost (stage style) kiss was so…soooo….AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! And wow a far more dramatic ending compared to the first event with how frustrated Suzu was that he still can’t go through with it. And it’s clear why it bothers him so much, if my suspicions are right. Subconsciously or not, Suzu is realizing Kisa is a girl and that realization could affect his acting. And for someone who wants to act alongside Kisa for years to come, that’s a terrible problem. So Suzu wants so desperately to solve his problem and be able to treat Kisa like how they usually are. Also because she’s his friend, probably one of his best friends, and he would hate for this to eventually affect their friendship

Brian May says he wouldn't have released the upcoming Star Fleet Project reissue featuring Eddie Van Halen without Alex Van Halen's support.
In a new interview with Cleveland.com, May said he thought about releasing the newly expanded and remastered box set shortly after Eddie's passing in October 2020 but decided the time wasn't right. Here's an excerpt from Gary Graff's interview:
DO YOU VIEW THE BOX SET AS ALSO A TRIBUTE TO EDDIE IN A WAY?
MAY: “Yes, it is but I did hesitate. At the time when I was starting to think about it, it was just about the time Ed passed away and I just couldn't do it. I just didn't feel right about it. Then a few years passed and I got to talking to Alex Van Halen, who's a great inspiration and also a wonderful musician. Alex has become a trusted friend and I have enormous admiration for him. He's been through such a terrible time because, of course, the two brothers were completely inseparable. For Alex, it's like losing half of himself. So, I wanted Alex's blessing to do this 'cause I didn't want to do anything that felt distasteful.”
Earlier, May explained how Eddie became a part of the project:
IT'S ALWAYS NICE TO HEAR MORE EDDIE VAN HALEN PLAYING. HOW DID HE BECOME PART OF THIS?
MAY: “Ed I knew as a friend but l'd very seldom had a chance to hang out with him; l got very drunk with him one night, very ill-advisedy...but that's another story. (laughs) With Ed, I set him up. I wanted to hear what happened when you put Ed as a firework on a stage and lit the blue-touch paper and stood back to see what happens. I gave him that stage in the middle of the ("Star Fleet") song; that to me was the climax of the whole song, the bit where Ed steps forward and does his own thing, unfettered by anything. He steps in and it comes out completely out of his head—that's not an overdub, he just does it. Every time he does it, it's different, 'cause his brain's constantly creating new stuff, which to me is one of the great joys of the (box set). love to hear the different version of what he came up with. What an extraordinary, extraordinary player he was, just incredible.”

okay i need to stop posting in the middle of the night bc the last two times i did that i was doing entirely too much in the tags + posted a torso reveal (as if i’m not a pic of snoopy walking around going 👍) but i need to keep talking about lucy grays rainbow dress. so here’s an unasked for progress check + the inspo for the top i wanna crochet in case i wanna connect the skirt to the shirt to actually make it a dress lol:
Tumblr media
okay i put a cutoff here bc i wanna rant but don’t wanna put such a long post on anyone’s dash <3. but for the top it was a toss up between a puff sleeve and a corset but i decided to go with the puff sleeves for a few reasons
1) it’s giving 1890s. not to sound like a nerd but i had a huge historical fashion phase when i was younger and i’m in love with the idea of lucy gray’s puff sleeves representing a different era (since, yk, ballad in general represents a diff era)
2) i’ve never crocheted a puff sleeve top before so it would be fun to try hehe (but i have crocheted a corset top and it does not Stay Up so, in the event that lucy gray was performing in an all-yarn outfit, that would not be very practical for her)
3) okay wouldnt the sleeves subtly fluffing around as she performs be kinda cute? obviously they’re not gonna be super fluffy or anything (just the amount of floofiness in the pic) but it’s kinda like a less intense version of the skirt ruffling
speaking of the skirt:
ohhhh my good. i alternate between loving and hating the white panels but tbh there’s nothing i can do unless i wanna drop an ungodly amount of money on a skirt that’s not even my style. but good thing it’s my sisters style (actually it might not be she looked at it and went “omg omg it’s so cuteee <3” and when i asked if she herself would wear it she went “o.o welll..” so maybe i’ll just have to do my hair and makeup entirely different to sell that this is in fact my style bc no way am i not wearing something i spent literal money + time on). sorry that was a tangent but it’s around knee length rn and i think i have enough yarn (of the rainbow color scheme and scrap yarn) to make it a bit longer. i’ve always envisioned lucy grays dress as a maxi, so maybe i’ll get one more skein of yarn at the end of the month since they’re having a sale. but the whimsy when it comes to wearing this skirt is unreal. like when i put it on i always gotta do a little spin to see the ruffles shift. and that’s actually another thing that makes me convinced that lucy grays skirt is a maxi bc making it into a mini skirt was atrocious. and that’s saying something bc if my entire ass isn’t hanging out of a skirt then what the fuck am i even wearing it for. but it just looked a bit strange and i thought it was bc there was SO much volume on top and it made me a look a bit disproportional, but once my mom stopped going “that’s a lot of colors going on” she had an answer that (while very crude.. and maybe a bit problematic) explained things:
“you look like a pedophile’s dream”
yeah. to be clear i don’t agree that women who dress in ruffles and pastels and things that are considered “childish” are trying to appeal to pedophiles, but keeping the skirt so short and colorful and ruffly made it look very Young. also making it longer added to the whimsy since there’s more fabric that swooshes around when you spin
okay i think i’m done. so thankful that i have tumblr now bc where else was i gonna rant about rainbow dress omg. but tbh i think i’m gonna take a break from making this before i get burnt out and finish a chapter for a fic bc the hg grind never stops. bye!!

Warning: Fanart
*inhales deeply*
HI THERE! I'm summoning all Ryuumo / Bonizumo shippers here because I gotta show you all this frickin amazing beautiful perfect 'is making me fucking cry' fanart that my friend @nebelihood did for me as a commission.
PLease go check her site bc she's amazing at drawing everything, from expressions, poses, character designs, animations, color, mini stories, eVeRyThInG (with special emphasis on the loony tunes, goodness the ease with which she's able to draw the frickin sketches, is *chef's kiss*), and then just look at this amazing fanarT she did for meeeeee T.T <333.
I-
Got no words. pls just look at it.
Tumblr media
Fuk.
Also, I got blessed by the gods and she even added an extra special and I'm crYinG FoR fukS SakE. No puedo..
Tumblr media
JUST. LOOK. AHHHHHHHHHHHHSHJD.
FAK MY HEART NOOOOOOOOO TTT.TTT *slams head on the desk* I got the damn drawings on sheet protectors. i want them framed and hanging on my wall. nobody can stop me. Ryuumo will rule the world with its cuteness and frickin canonicity.
Tumblr media
Here's the clean version.
Perfect babies. I love them so much. I'm seriously containing myself here from my fangirling, I believe it will be rlly annoying and the post will become like triple its lenght so I better keep it short. Fuk, their hair, their faces, their fricking BLUSH BICH NO. AAHSJDJHSFHDS.
Anyways, for a bit of backstory on why I commissioned this specific art and dialogue, it started thanks to these panels on ch. 112, where Izumo, Ryuuji and the rest of the Arch Knights are running away from the artificial zombies. And when Izumo is hurriedly trying to climb up the stairs she frickin stumbles thanks to a zombie hand grabbing her ankle and Ryuuji just freaks out and shouts out her name all worried my little Ryuuji ugH. (He can't hide anymore how much he cares and worries for her)
Tumblr media
I gotta admit that at first I thought Izumo had slipped by herself, but even without that being true, the main idea still stands:
Ryuuji won't let her climb stairs by herself anymore unless he's the one doing it for her by carrying her in his arms (which has been proved before that he can do *winks winks to the beach scene* and enjoys >:).
I hope you love the fanart as much as I do. Thank you for reading~!! <3333
Thank u so much @nebelihood <333

Thoughts on DBS: Super Heroes
I liked it, probably put it on par with Resurrection F, which I liked more than most people so that’s not bad. It feels like a joke movie in a weird way, like there’s serious bits but at the same time nothing’s taken super seriously except the final action bits.
I actually ended up seeing the subbed version on accident, I don’t mind either way but I think the one I had set up was the sub so I may have missed a few minor details while trying to read the dialogue and see the action. The art style was a bit distracting but it looked pretty good all things considered, I noticed the fights were using a lot of wrestling/grappling moves, I don’t know if those are easier with the new style or if someone in development was just a big fan but dramatic wrestling moves combined with the Super Hero themes of the villains kind of made the whole thing seem kind of melodramatic and silly which like I said it’s clearly what it was going for so it’s not bad just noteworthy. The movie seems to be aware of how contrived it is since Piccolo himself wants to put on a show for Gohan to get him to get serious and help fight these new Androids, him getting Pan to act the part of a damsel was kind of cute but after Broly this is the second time we’ve manipulated a situation to purposely milk out a transformation and I feel like the characters may be getting too meta about how their narrative works XD.
I like Dr. Hedo and his silly superhero gimmick and how he’s basically “I want to be a good guy but I’m way too lazy to do research on how sketchy this guy hiring me to build death warriors is” like it’s kind of a funny way to not make him an idiot or a scumbag, just a well-intentioned guy that’s not necessarily picky enough about where he gets his paycheck. I also REALLY like the idea that the bad guys think Bulma is this Mafia Don head of an alien organization and they think she’s the final boss in all this because of all the weird shit that seems centered around Capsule Corporation, it’s nice to see how the world thinks of all the shit the Z-Fighters do in general. Gamma #1 is kind of bland and straight-laced because all the focus goes to Gamma #2 since he’s the one that gets character development and a full fight, like #1 gets a little skrimish with Gohan and that’s all he does the whole movie except feel sad when #2 dies. Still I like that #1 gets to survive and be part of the world and maybe his brother’s death will develop his character for stuff in the future (also they call them both Androids which is to say they’re probably Cyborgs like 17 and 18 but are they human or what? They look completely mechanical even with mettalic sounds when they’re hit or do some hitting so maybe they ARE actually Androids after all these years? I mean #2 does melt away into ash which doesn’t seem like something an organic would do) Also Hedo and Magenta’s little mini-fight showing off their normal-level cyborg enhancements was pretty funny.
The Goku/Vegeta Interlude is kind of out of place to fill up time but it’s nice to flesh out what they’re up to while all this is going on and development since the Broly movie, almost feels like they thought they couldn’t get away with a DBS movie without Goku and Vegeta in it for at least a couple minutes. Still Beerus being a Cheelai simp is pretty cute (my god that’s a weird love triangle, a thief chick, her oblivious space puppy himbo and the ultimate god of destruction) and really honestly who doesn’t love Cheelai, and seeing Broly’s group come to hang with Beerus is neat but makes me wonder why they dumped them on that random planet at the end of Broly if they were just gonna bring them straight to Beerus anyway. Also Bulma’s butt is good, think I heard a small cheer in the theater when we got to the scene with her sticking it out. Speaking of which I kind of like the idea of Bulma gathering all the dragonballs as soon as they become active and wishing for random bullshit to keep them inert as much as possible to keep people from wishing for Frieza to be revived or giant space trees or young namekian emperors or some shit, like it’s treated as a joke but it’s actually pretty smart to make sure the villains aren’t grabbing them up all the time, though if Super ever does decided to adapt the Dark Dragons arc you can bet Bulma is behind like 90% of the negative energy the dragon balls accumulate which I think would be funny, like have one of the Dark Dragons just be the epitome of all of Bulma’s bullshit superficial wishes and basically be Superpowered Evil Bulma.
Hulkbuster Piccolo is a cool transformation and all but it fucking comes out of nowhere, like Piccolo asks Shenron to untap his power and the dragon’s like “Oh new transformation? Sure!” and Piccolo just kinda unlocks it out of nowhere, feel like a lot of DBS doesn’t really have a handle on how to make a transformation engaging and just tosses them out as plot developments. We also get Teen Goten and Trunks but they specifically avoid showing us real Gotenks despite teasing it twice and we get Fat Gotenks who for some reason still acts and looks like a twelve year old.
Gohan’s Beast Transformation was at least kind of led up to but probably could’ve been dwelt on a little more like have Gohan thinking about how Piccolo kept telling him to be ready for danger and he wasn’t and that guilt triggers the Beast, like milk the emotion a little more than him just seeing Piccolo get beat up pretty bad and replaying his Super Saiyan 2 transformation with a new coat of paint. Cell Max looked really freaking cool like Semi-Perfect Cell always looked like an awkward middle stage pokemon but they really did make him an awesome beastly looking thing and the sheer size of him made for a cool Kaiju battle with Piccolo. When they mentioned his weakness was in his head I kind of groaned because it’s another of those ‘we made the bad guy too strong so here’s a video game weakspot’ deals that crops up every now and then but I really don’t mind it too much here because Cell Max seems to lack the intelligence to use regeneration when his arm was ripped off and Gohan blew his whole head off so he probably would’ve been done anyway. Gohan using the Special Beam Cannon was ridiculously hype like think that’s the first time since Raditz that technique’s actually killed anyone and it was really cool to see it in such a large scale.
Like it’s such a weird feeling that this movie knows it’s running with the B-Team but tries to keep the stakes interesting regardless and for the most part through a combination of decent comedy and character development I’d say it succeeds, they try to pull the “Even if Goku and Vegeta were here we might’ve lost” which is probably bullshit but it’s cool to see them giving a shot to some neglected characters, this’d be like if they made a Naruto Movie where Rock Lee opens the Ninth Chakra Gate and becomes a demon and honestly I’d have loved that. Also the post-credits scene has Vegeta finally beat Goku in their sparring match which is a nice little fanservice bit, like I don’t think it counts because they didn’t use transformations or anything but it’s nice for him to get that bit of closure after all this time.
Anyway yeah, probably my 3rd-4th favorite movie I think?

I've been thinking about the pale king. Is he a pred or a prey in your eyes?
okay alright okay this is the third ask I've gotten about this so here we go. just gonna answer them all at once. the main part of my answer will be at the end, after I answer the secondary parts of the other two asks
Tumblr media
Regarding U/nn- I mean, pretty much. She doesn't really see what the big deal is. She does it when required or when asked of her, but she mostly sees it as just a thing that can come in handy sometimes. For healing, especially. A tum is the ideal place to keep someone for them to rest. Comfy, warm, enveloped in beneficial magic, and the patient can't leave to go put stress on their body or get hurt further until she thinks they're good and healed.
But other than that yeah she doesn't get why bugs always seem to get so weirded out and/or flustered by it.
Tumblr media
oh that's interesting. I can see that, yeah, just having your own little hidey hole, no responsibilities, just vibin all the time. serves pretty much the same purpose as a tum in casual safe vore. oh to be a worm
speaking of wor- wyrms, here's the answer to the question that ties these three asks together. putting it under a cut bc I don't want to have to deal with putting slashes in those two's names. dunno if it actually makes a difference, but that's how I've been doing it so eh. also because it's long
okay. so. in my headcanon, PK and WL would totally engage in noms. she'd eat him whenever he overworked himself, or when he'd be too anxious to sleep, or sometimes just for fun and bonding.
my headcanon involves higher beings being able to shapeshift, at least somewhat. so while PK could simply make himself smol, a more fun idea I had was that he has another form he likes to take when being nommed. basically, he turns into a mini version of his old wyrm form, probably with blunted teeth so as to not hurt his tree wife. it's, say, half, maybe a quarter of his size in king form? maybe the approximate size and shape of whatever tail/extra body length he's got under that robe. n e way, smol and snakey enough to fit down a throat somewhat easily. maybe with eyes, maybe without. I mean, not much use for them in your average tum.
and then White Lady! she doesn't need to change at all, she's already massive. her insides have a gentle glow to them, softer than her husband's. they're firm, because plant matter, but they've also got a good amount of give to them. PK's favorite nap spot to be sure. and sap!! yes!!! it could serve the same purpose as stomach acid on the occasions where she needs to eat bug food, like in social events and such. or not, because root biology, and she could work entirely differently.
but anyway, sap. when she has a person in there, the sap would be harmless at worst, and healing at best. it probably has a sort of soothing effect, being warm and slowing your movements. encourages sleep for sure.
warning for... vampirism(???) in this paragraph you know, it's funny, I had been thinking about the White Lady having sap shortly before I got the ask that mentioned it. the thought was, effectively, "hey if the Hivelings only hang around their corner of Kingdom's Edge, and Kingdom's Edge doesn't have any flowers, where are they getting the nectar to make all that honey?" and there was the side thought of "Well maybe they made it all before they closed their borders," but that still leaves the question of "How are they not running out?" this led to my solution of "well, there may not be any flowering plants, but there is a certain type of glowing white root everywhere, and god blood is probably highly nutritious. plant-based god blood, anyway." so there ya go. WL probably doesn't mind too much, she's got plenty to spare
oh! and one last thing: idk if I've shared this yet, but here's the one fic idea I had for PK--
Tumblr media
obviously, goes off the idea that Hegemol is big enough to fill out his armor, which is notable because I have two fic ideas where he's a smol bug in what's basically a mech suit
and I kinda had an idea for a mosaic or stained glass-like art piece depicting the White Lady holding her little Wyrm husband curled at her core. who, in-universe, would've made this piece? idk, but their highnesses wouldn't display it where anyone else could see. they don't exactly let the public know that their king regularly gets eaten. maybe PK's influence over minds has something to do with why the occasional civilian will seem to like the whole nomming idea so much, though...
