An analysis of the White Jungle scene in Sonic Adventure 2 (idk it's one of my fave moments and I can't shut up about it):

Before I really dive right into the scene of White Jungle, I think it's important to also address one prior scene that I'll add more onto later on as I explain. Sa2 is a game filled with layers because it was SEGA's last game on the dreamcast. They wanted to leave a major impact with this game due to that reason, from characterizations, music, game play and so on so forth. Team Darks story is imo more developed than the heroes, but that isn't to say that the heroes storyline isn't amazing or as good as the dark. I think it's just that SEGA had two new characters to use and with this being one of the first (and pretty much only) times we can actually use Eggman and see his side of things, they likely had a clean slate to adapt with.

When Shadow appears atop of Radical Highway's bridge, he has sudden flashbacks of Maria. It's when she's asking him to fulfill her promise, but it cuts out before it finishes. He believes her wish is to bring about revenge amongst humanity. As he does peer down amongst the police cars who are part of the military force, those who likely work under the government. He says "how pathetic," This line will be important for later on but we get the idea that he sees little value in the government and the lives of those who partake with any organization due to his trauma related with G.U.N on the ARK.

Now I'll begin discussing on White Jungle and the impact it had when it comes to Shadow as a character. As Shadow is exploring the island after he sets the bomb timer for Eggmans plan, Rouge sends a message over to Shadow stating how she cannot call herself a treasurehunter anymore (this being after she was a little cocky saying she could get it done in 5 minutes) as she is trapped in a locked safe due to being caught by the Flying Dog.

This moment brought about flashbacks to Shadow as he paused or became frozen in time, and was the start to what I'd consider as him having an internal (silent) panic attack. Technology wasn't as advanced at the time when the game came out, making it sometimes difficult to always see what was expressed on the characters' models. but I'll try my best to express what characterizes him having a silent panic attack.

His flashbacks going back and forth between Rouge helplessly on the floor, to the bomb he set up, and then to Maria. His gaze going back and forth as he panics thinking about Rouge and how she's alone without help waiting for her demise. This reminds him all too much of his flashbacks with Maria. How she wasn't able to get the help she needed. I've been reading the script as well on the wiki fanpage, I think it can help further prove my point of him having a ptsd panic attack and confirm what his thoughts were trying to convey.

The fact he is correlating the helplessness between Maria and Rouge, is beautiful writing when it comes to his characterization and how it affects him with his ptsd. He shortly after goes, "ah... shoot! That troublemaker!"

This is because of him being frustrated and fearful of what may happen to Rouge, someone he clearly cares for as a teammate even if he doesn't fully understand why. He's frustrated that she's now in a dangerous situation and how he doesn't have much time to save her, and feeling that this would be at his hands (as he also feels guilty for not saving Maria) because it was a bomb he set up. His internal conflict between revenge but also seeking to help someone he cares for is why I further believe he is having that panic attack here as well.

"Rythym and Balance" is one of my favourite Shadow theme songs stage wise. Jun Senoue is a musical genius when it comes to writing songs for SEGA, I could endlessly gush over him (or Hideki Naganuma) for hours on when it comes to the way they write their songs. But I digress...

"Oh yeah, hurry to the unexplored island. I don't mind steep slopes or any obstacles"

"I'm not scared at all, but are you scared of something?"

This gets somewhat repetitive in his song on this stage which is totally on purpose as his songs are supposed to sound inorganic and industrial. However, when you break it down the more organic this song becomes imo. This is due to how with each repetitive line, the more it sounds like his panic is consuming him, he's doing everything he can to keep his head calm and reassured. He's not wanting his panic to take over, but it very much is. He needs to make it over these obstacles to save Rouge, he doesn't want to fail anyone else he cares about again. He sees her as a teammate (to a degree at least) so hes rushing, trying to convince himself that he isn't scared. But then asks if "you're" scared, which in my opinion refers to himself and his internal conflict. He's talking to himself, because he knows he's scared to lose someone he's close too all over again and be seen as a failure. Another interpretation is this being Maria, he's thinking of her trying to ask her questions while he's in his head having flashbacks.

"And I don't wanna hear you"

This lyric in of itself, is him referring to Maria as he has flashbacks. It could also refer to Rouge as well. He's trying his best to remove that imagery he had of Rouge and Maria from earlier when it comes to the connection between how they both were helplessly laying on the floor to their inevitable deaths.

"Shadow, don't make me upset"

Again, he's referring to Maria and/or Rouge. He's repeating both of these lines, especially the "I don't wanna hear you." This again emphasizes how he is in a clear state of panic. This is why I refer to him having a panic attack. He is trying hard to be confident, but he doesn't know how to keep his composure while his mind races with thoughts of his past.

Later on, Shadow has a flashback with Maria looking out at the window, him struggling with his memories and what they all could mean to him. Confused as to why he felt empathetic for Rouge and her situation and why he felt the need to save her. One of my all-time favourite quotes from the game being,

"Maria... I just don't know anything anymore. I often wonder why I was created? What my purpose is for being here."

Rouge comes in asking him why he's so melancholy and also points out how unlike it was for him to save her. She hasn't seen an empathetic side before for Shadow, so of course she's gonna have a lot of confusion. And despite him playing it off as if he was saving her only for the chaos emeralds to carry out his plan of revenge. Rouge quickly notes, "That's not the whole story, is it?"

Okok now to tie into why the pathetic line is important, when Shadow confronts Rouge before she's about to steal the chaos emeralds for herself, he is shown to have a more upset tone. David Humphrey usually plays Shadow with a calm and soft, almost monotonous tone. To hear him give Shadow a different tone is just really good voice acting when it comes to this confrontation. Shadow has every right to be upset when realizing Rouge was a government spy, calling her a "pathetic creature" out of his frustration. Rouge is someone he trusts/ trusted and to find out how he's been betrayed by her to someone who works with the government. Someone he risked his life for, even though Maria died by the very hands of the government organization known as G.U.N. Of course, he'd feel angered. Also correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that her working with the president also would mean she was working alongside G.U.N too since the whole point of her spying was to find out more on Shadow.

Anyways I found that to be an interesting and integral part because it once again emphasizes his struggles with expressing his empathy and understanding others' intentions. Rouge someone he trusts or, at the very least, was beginning to trust somehow, which makes him question his morals and purpose even more. Not only that, but even with her question to Shadow whether or not he was truly the first and real Shadow, this only makes him wonder more about his identity as a creation, and does not help with this struggle of his. Even if he truly does want to believe in what he knows of himself when it comes to who he is.

Anyway, I hope reading about a fictional hedgehog in this much depth was at least interesting. It was fun for me to write this tbh I love being able to express how White Jungle was such a significant scene for Shadow's character in helping the viewers realize he isn't a villain and is more so misunderstood. It helps to show his empathy and how he values those he cares about or peace in general. I love to how it brings out so much of the other scenes as well, due to it being such a key component to his character. Gahh, it's just so good

Who is your favorite K-pop group?

Stray Kids! Currently these babies are my faves! They've completely swept me off my feet, which I didn't think was possible from how fucking fast it happened, but I've got no complaints~

Which member sparked your interest first?

Believe it or not, but Seungmin was actually the first member who sparked my interest! Specifically Maxident era Seungmin [as I was a Maxident era Stay], he was the one I would look out for the most when I started getting into them as a group. It was the dandy boy effect, what can I say?

Who was your first bias?

Truthfully it was a tie between Seungmin and Chan in the beginning, I loved these two so much I considered myself just double biased with them, but magically one day Chan turned out to be my main bias, and Seungmin lived up to the bias wrecker name [until a wild HyuniBini came along].

Now - Who was your first ever bias?

Mr. President Kim Namjoon, Rap Monster, RM, Joonie of BTS - my first ever bias and husband, I love him more than words can ever describe, him and the rest of the tannies have gotten me through so much back in early 2020 and I'll forever be thankful for them - I honestly can't wait till they come home!

Who is your current bias?

If it wasn't obvious already, Chan - aka Christopher, Chris, Chanstopher, Channie, etc etc - is my current bias! Though, I'd say my full lineup is Chan, Changbin, and Hyunjin - he's my ult out of the tier.

What makes them your bias?

I could list a lot of things, really - talk about how I see some of myself in the parts that he's shown to us - but I don't think I could ever come up with just one singular reason as to why he's my bias. I feel like I can relate to him the most, he's got attributes that I wish I had and because of that it just draws me in more because seeing him excel makes me believe that I could do the same one day. Something just clicks with him and I can't place my finger on it, he's just... there, and my heart's all "Yeah, he's the one."

Who is your bias wrecker?

HyuniBini!! These two are wreckers like no other and I don't know how I manage to survive them but I do! Of course, I love all the members, but these two can snatch me away at any given moment and I'm not mad at it at all.

Which member(s) are you currently obsessing over that aren't your bias/bias wrecker?

Yang Jeongin. Yang fucking Jeongin. Ever since he got that split dye with the curls for Rockstar era, I've never been the same - ALSO, him and his honey brown hair now?? The length? The FLUFF? He's a baby bread after my heart and soul.

When did you first discover this group?

Technically I first discovered them on September 24, 2020 [according to my spotify liked playlist] with B Me, but I didn't truly start stanning them until October 11, 2022. To be fair, 2020 was really the year I actually started getting into K-Pop as a whole; I became an Army March 13th, 2020 - without BTS I doubt I would've been a Stay for as long as I have.

Have you ever been to one of their concerts?

Sadly, I haven't, and I had plans to see them this coming Lollapalooza, but things happened and I'm crossing my fingers to be able to see them when they go on tour again.

What are some of your favorite songs by the group?

Mixtape: OH, Neverending Story, Sorry I love you, Any, The Tortoise and the Hare, The Sound, Voices, Novel, Hello Stranger, Behind the Light, Cover me - their whole discography, honestly, but these are the main songs that make me feel like I'm going to a different universe.

what made you pick up the muse you have? you mean muses lmao. honestly i pick ones that i personally enjoy or resonate with in some way. for the most part i have to actually like them in order to write them, so any character i have on my muse list i like at the very least.

is there anything you don’t like to write? not particularly? i find it difficult sometimes to do action based replies, but it doesn't mean i don't like to write it. just is a little more difficult.

is there anything you really enjoy writing? threads that are fluffy with a hint of angst are a fave.

how do you come up with your headcanons? i just do i guess? i don't really have a process, it usually comes up either while writing or when watching something i'm like "actually my muse would feel like this instead" kind of thing if that makes sense?

do you write in silence or do you play music? i have to write in silence, music is so distracting to me when writing.

do you plan your replies or wing them? i don't really plan all that much? usually just go with the flow, whatever comes naturally to the muse in question.

what’s your alias/name? stephanie! but i also go by steph or stephy. my nieces and nephews call me stephy, that all started when my first niece couldn't pronounce my name properly and called me "snephy" and then i wanted to replicate that when my second niece came along, but she was able to pronounce the "t" so stephy became a staple in my life.

"Game Shows Touch Our Lives" Tallahassee

This was a mantra for me for a couple years. Tallahassee is my fave album and this song is sweet and tender within the context of the Alpha Couple's impulses to do bad things and their completely toxic relationship. I'm not an optimist, but I am the kind of person that believes in the Law of Large Numbers and that statistically you can't keep running into bad luck and that you're luck will turn eventually and that's what these lyrics mean to me. Obviously that law is for probability and data sets but what is life except a giant data set. I will continue to believe this even though it truly makes no sense, but this is my belief system.

Sometimes I hit a depression spell and I just try to power through it because again, I believe in some sort of cosmic balance and that everything will run its course, but this line is for when the dull pain is not getting any duller :/ Also I needed them to put a song from We Shall All Be Healed in Breaking Bad, both are about meth.

"Steal Smoked Fish" Bonus single from Transcendental Youth

I became very obsessed with this song after graduating college. All my friends I had just spent 4 years with nearly every day were suddenly far away from me, I couldn't find a damn job and I had to move back home, my ultimate flop era. But also realizing how fleeting friendships and moments can be is so bittersweet and this is a song that gets that. Its subject matter is more serious than no longer being within walking distance between friends since this is John reflecting on the people he knew when he struggled with addiction in Portland, but there is a part of going through a really tough time with people and looking back at that time with some longing. I'm so much happier now and would never want to go back to that stress and depressed anxious state I was fucking stuck in for 4 years, but that camaraderie is something I don't have in my life anymore.

4: And then you're singing in Dutch to me And I recognize the song It seems so old and so fragile And I haven't heard it in so long

"Minnesota" Full Force Galesburg

I love this song so much, when they played it live at a show I went to I started full on sobbing as they danced and sang. I think this song is not supposed to be a love song but it feels so tender and vulnerable to me. The occupants of the house are lost ("not as far west") and the house seems to be on the verge of something terrible ("house is throbbing"), but in the moment they have this old and fragile thing to hold onto. It's so so tmg to find these moments before the storm and to just occupy them for a little and in some way that feels deeply comforting to me. Also it's just a really beautiful song!

literally!!! i must say that i enjoyed dynamite, but everything that came out after was just meh for me 😭😭 and it was a bit of a jump for me too, but ive been in fandoms since i was 12 so its like 7 years now,,, so joining the kpop world was just one step further from all the stuff in the 5sos fandom.

The party floor is a shiny beautiful mess, and like little twinkling stars, clouds of glitter cover the white marble all the way from the entrance to the huge stairs in the middle of the living room. Its looks like the stars that you can't see in the city sky, came to gather in one room.

Daichi would rather be watching them outside instead.

You turn around and smile apologetically at him, and he lifts the cup he's had glued to his hand since you arrived to assure you that he's fine. Really. He is.

He will always wait for you.

Lev comes barreling down towards him in that moment, champagne glass almost empty and hair a wild mess. He looks happy, and free, and totally in his own element. Everything that Daichi isn't.

"Hey! Did you had fun? Cool party, huh?" he asks, words a bit slurred.

Daichi chuckles, still keeping an eye on you "Maybe you should lay down on the alcohol already"

Lev snorts, loosening his tie a bit, and drinking what's left of his gkass "It was a party! I was just having fun!" he explains, maybe a bit louder than what he should, eyeing Daichi suspiciously "Did you?"

You laugh at something one of your coworkers is saying, and Daichi thinks that smile is enough to light up the already glittering room.

"It was fun, yeah"

"You don't seem like you had a good time tho"

Daichi sighs. Lev is looking at him with his eyebrows furrowed, and he remembers that this man that is now one of the most famous models in all Japan is also one of his high school friends, so it's not right lying to him.

At least not much.

"I did had a good time. It's just that this is not my kind of place"

"You still came tho"

"That I did, yes"

He looks back at you. He met you a long time ago, also in high school, and also around the time he met Lev. All his friends realized he had a crush on you sooner than him, who actually believed the 'we're just very good friends' lie until you went on a date with a guy from another school, and the possibility of you looking at someone that wasn't him became unbearable. From then on, you two had been inseparable, even while he went to become a Police Officer, and you decided to pursue your dream of modeling. It didn't matter. Your love was strong enough to endure any distance, any differences, any decision. It was enough. The laughs, the smiles, all the little moments when there was nothing else but the two of you.

Those were the important things.

"She'll probably be having a lot of this all the time" Lev says, snapping him out of his thoughts "She's getting more and more famous with each passing day. Parties and fancy reunions are important for this work too"

"I know that"

"And you won't care?"

"I won't "

Lev smiles drunkenly, patting Daichi's shoulder "You're a good boyfriend"

"I'm so sorry it took me so long to say goodbye to everyone" you apologize to Daichi in the car, burying your face in his chest, your arms loosely around him.

He holds you closer still, giving you a kiss on the top of your hair "It's okay, I understand"

"You would think that people would talk about something that's not work after a party like that, but no" you complain, playing with the buttons of his shirt while he gently rubs your bare arms "They all wanted to discuss the details of my next photoshoot. For that magazine... I don't remember the name, but one of your friends appeared in one of its last issues"

"One of my friends?"

"I think he plays for the MSBY Jackals" you say, yawning "I also think he has a twin or something, if I recall correctly"

"Oh, yeah. Atsumu Miya"

"That's the one"

The car turns around the corner, and Daichi takes one of your hand in his much bigger one, interlacing his fingers with yours. You hum against his chest.

"I have to tell you something else" you add, your voice a whisper, and he looks down at you, worried.

"What is it?"

You bite your bottom lip, looking up at him through your lashes "I have another party tomorrow"

"Tomorrow? But it's New Year's eve..."

And his birthday, he wants to say; but you already look miserable enough about it, and so he settles for kissing your left temple.

"I'm so sorry, Daichi. I know you don't particularly like this kind of things... not that I love them either" you wet your lips and look down to where he's holding your hand "You don't have to come if you don't want to"

"Please" he says, squeezing your hand "I would never leave you alone"

He wakes up with you gone, your side of the bed empty— and so he buries his face in your pillow and goes back to sleep, lulled by the smell you left behind. He wakes up again around noon, to a phone filled to the brim with texts from his friends and family, wishing him happy birthday and asking what are his plans for the day.

You, that's his plan. It has been since he can remember.

He tries to ignore the twinge of sadness that threteanes to fully bloom in his heart at the absence of any message from you, and instead decides to accept Sugawara's invitation to take a stroll around the park.

"You're getting old, Daichi" his friend teases him, and he rolls his eyes, smiling, and allows him to make fun of him, since they see each other so little lately.

"How's your work?"

Sugawara smiles brightly, bringing his hands together "It's actually so fulfilling! The kids and I made Christmas cards and New Year's Day ones too before they went home for the holidays. Some of them are really good"

"Well, they do have a good teacher"

Sugawara laughs, cheeks pink, and waves a hand at him "Let's not talk about work and all that boring stuff anyway. What are you and your girl doing today? Something special planned?"

Daichi thinks about party dresses and cocktails he wont drink, and about strange men talking in your ear and pictures being taken from every angle, and about that text he never got.

Smile tense, he shakes his head "Not really"

Sugawara frowns, coming to a stop "Don't tell me you're having trouble in paradise. You're my favorite couple ever! First place, even on top of Ryūnosuke and Kiyoko!"

"We're not, dont worry"

"Then what is it?"

Daichi shrugs, eyes on the bare cup of the trees around them, branches covered in snow "It's nothing"

"Daichi..."

He manages to distract Sugawara long enough to make him forget about what they were talking, and after checking his phone for the third time and still not finding any trace of you, he says yes to have a couple of drinks with his friend.

They laugh and catch up properly, and even call some of their old friends from high school— Nishinoya sings him happy birthday; Asahi promises to stop by soon to give him a present.

He goes back home when the sun is already setting on the horizon, eyes on his shoes and this thoughts filled with you and only you.

What he refused to tell Sugawara was that he was scared. How could he not? He's just a policeman, and you're a rising superstar. He's afraid, constantly— and he becomes that guy from high school that was terrified of losing the girl he had finally realized he liked all over again.

He's afraid of one day only being able to see you on the cover of some magazine.

The door opens to a bunch of black and red and gold— and he thinks he can even spot a blue one on the corner— balloons covering the floor. You're waiting for him the middle of the living room, dressed on the dress you wore on your first date together. It's nothing fancy, nothing made to wear in front of the most important people in town.

You bought it just for him.

"What's this?" he asks, already smiling, and you open your arms and he has to navigate the sea of balloons to reach you and hug you.

"Happy birthday!" you tell him, letting him spin you around, and peppering kisses all over his face "Are you surprised?"

"After not hearing anything from you the whole day, I think so yeah!" he confesses, and you lightly punch his arm and pout.

"Please tell me Suga didn't gave anything away"

"He knew that you were doing all this?"

"Yeah! He offered to keep you busy while I blowed up the balloons and bought the cake and the drinks"

"Someone is coming?"

You shake your head, this time kissing him on the lips. "It's just you and me. For your birthday, and to wait the new year together too. We can bundle up in front of the TV and watch those midnight shows with the loud music"

"But your party..."

You laugh, actually doing a little jump "Of course I never planned to go, silly! It's my boyfriend's birthday!"

That night, you dance around more balloons than Daichi has ever seen, eat cake on the floor and laugh when your friends call again— Sugawara anxiously wanting to know if everything worked out in the end.

Daichi would have spent the beginning of his New Year's Day with you in one of those big parties, smiling and watching you shine, and he would have been happy like that.

Because it's you, and he made the promise to stay by your side.

But he can't help but feel better like this, just you and him and all the love you have for each other, waiting for a new year to arrive.

Maybe this will be the one where he'll use the ring he has on one of his drawers, to make word of his promise.

° You owned this special and locked diary for years, where you kept all your bottles up emotions and feelings in.

° One of those feelings evolving your long time crush on Chan, including the words 'Sexy, Cute, Inspirational, Hot, Prince, and A Literal Angel' all in quite a few pages. Luckily your now long time boyfriend has never seen these fangirl/boy paragraphs.

° Chan was all of those words, no doubt about it. But it is still hard to look at those paragraphs without cringing at how desperate you sounded in your mind.

° Chan however apparently loved your affectionate paragraphs, flipping through the pages as you walked through his studio door. Your heart sank as pure shock and terror rushed through your veins. No one wants their private thoughts to be read.

° The tips of Chan's ears were firetruck red, as a beaming grin flashed towards you. You noted that he read through the entire diary, knowing all the dreams and wishes you had that involved him. No skeletons were left in your closet anymore, it was bittersweet.

"So you really think I'm an angel who is also the sexiest person on earth?" he teased, cupping your face in his palms.

"Well duh, but you can't tell me you didn't think anything like that towards me-" You defended, cut off by his sweet kisses.

Lee Know

° Minho found out about your true feelings towards him while reading some song lyrics you wanted to show 3Racha.

° He needed to know who you loved and admired so dearly after reading this, constantly by your side questioning anything he could. After literal weeks of conspiracy, you couldn't take his suspicion anymore and admitted everything.

° You are now much more secretive with your songs that you've written, but that won't stop Minho from looking everywhere he possibly can. He is determined to find them.

° After so many large steps that were taken in your relationship, he wants to see how you truly felt throughout them. From the first date, first time, to the promise ring he fave you last week. Minho wants to say it's to tease, when it's truly because he loves you.

° He loved the way his stomach did kart wheels as his heart fluttered when he first read your words. He hasn't felt that amazing feeling in a while and needs to re live it, luckily for him he noticed a place he has never thought of checking.

"So kitten, you really want to marry me don't you?" he commented, a soft smirk across his glowing features.

"Why wouldn't I? You're you. And how'd you find those?!" you replied, tone changing as you saw how many he actually had.

Changbin

° Changbin was struggling to create a new song, he seemed to accidently make similar beats and lyrics to their past hits.

° You would sometime write up different songs when you were bored, but you never showed them to anyone thinking they weren't great. But Changbin looked in need of some type of inspiration, so you brought out your journal and placed it infront of him.

° His expression was unreadable, either about to thank you for the amazing inspiration or laugh at your cheesy words. You just wanted him to say something.

° Changbin began to smile shyly, showing you a page he just read over. That page happened to be the most recent and the one you completely forgot about. It was a draft about 10 different ways you could tell Changbin that you loved him.

° You really wanted it to be special when you would say it to him, but luck didn't seem to be on your side that day. You were at least glad that he was smiling, showing positive signs that he isn't feeling awkward or doesn't feel the same way about you.

"I love you too my adorable bean." He chuckled, pulling you into his lap as he held you close to his racing heart beat.

"I'm guessing he new comeback is going to be a love song now?" you teased, burrowing into his soft black hoodie.

Hyunjn

° Your relationship use to be a cat and mouse situation, one day you two were best friends and then the next you two were rivals.

° Your anger and frustration towards one another was simply a way to hide your true emotions. Both of you found each other attractive in and out, but were too stubborn to confess. That is until he walked into your room and pressed you up against the wall.

° Your rivalry left out the door once you started dating, the only ounce of it was left in the small playful bickering and teasing. Which happened every day of the week.

° You walked into the dressing rooms, noticing Han and Felix giggling as your presence became known. This wasn't a usual giggle of theirs, something was going on. You knew that for sure once you saw the way Hyunjin presented himself.

° A sly smirk across his lips as a couple crumpled peace of paper were in between his fingers. His steps were long and powerful, as he held his head up high while nearing you. This usually meant he found something to tease you with.

"I didn't know you liked me for five years, coming up with so many cute pet names if we ever dated." He teased, hiding his blush.

"First of all, you went through my desk without asking me. Second of all, I am whipped for you dumb dumb." You replied.

Han

° You weren't a very vocal person, having trouble expressing your thoughts and emotions through words everyday.

° That reason alone is also why people think you and Han are a perfect match. He helped you come out of your shell and be comfortable in your own skin. All of those actions sent your heart into a frenzy, finding there way into pages filled with emotion.

° Han knew about your habit of writing cute quotes on your palms and arms, or just randomly taking out your journal and starting a new page.

° He respected your privacy even if the temptation of knowing every little thought you have was very very strong, he held back and let you write in peace. However, when you dropped your journal without knowing. Han held it and the temptation took over.

° As you had a chat with Seungmin, he turned around from your eye sight and flipped through the pages. Many of them expressing how much you love him and how much he helped you without him even knowing. This effected Han immensely.

"Hannie are you crying?" you questioned, noticing the forming gloss over his sparkling chocolate orbs.

"Yeah, but it's happy tears. I just never knew how much you cared about me, and it makes me feel important." He explained.

Felix

° You cannot hide anything from this adorable koala, he knows you too well and can find anything you've hidden from him.

° You learned this the hard way when you asked him for help when forgetting where you left your journal, panicking since the last place you saw it was at Minho's. Felix knew you usually placed it near your bed and assumed it to be under the covers.

°His assumption was spot on, but you had no idea that he had found it yet. Felix took this advantage to skim through a few pages, smiling at the sight of his name in the book.

° His name was mentioned ever since the day you first met, January 7th 2017. He was written as this attractive aussie that had your knees weak, he laughed silently at the realization that you fancied him since the first day you met. He loved it.

° Felix walked out with the navy blue book tight in his grip, his ears a bright shade of red. You knew he must've read some sort of page about him, but you weren't nervous about it. It couldn't have been anything more cheesy than what you say on dates.

"I can't believe Han knew about your crush on me that entire time." Felix chuckled, shock filling his expression.

"And I can't believe you never knew how much I truly admired you." You teased back, kissing his freckle speckled cheeks.

Seungmin

° Seungmin met you at a library, you were working on a soft poem about not being able to find the right person.

° That whole meeting seemed like something right off of a romance movie or fanfiction novel. Writing about giving up on love as an amazing guy happens to cross paths with you. But both of you laugh at the whole cliché nature of your meeting.

° Seungmin loved how you wrote, taking him into the story each time. He felt so special whenever he found something referring to your relationship, feeling fuzzy inside.

° He liked to bring some of your poems on tour with him, reminding him to stay strong when being away from you. Letting him know that you'll always be there for him when he needs you, even if you are both countries away from each other.

° Felix once found his stash of poems that you wrote, he never teased him on it but would still smile excitedly at how sentimental Seungmin was becoming. Seungmin knew he was becoming cheesy and mushy, he hated yet loved it.

"Do you know how much you have effected me?" he questioned, tracing the curve of your jaw with his thumb.

"Or maybe you have an addiction to me, ever think of that?" you responded, smiling widely as he rolled his eyes at your words.

Jeongin

° You worked under JYP entertainment to help create songs for different groups, Jeongin noticed you during his break.

° You rarely got to work with Stray Kids since they made 99% of their own songs, but that didn't stop Jeongin from trying to get to know you. It worked in his favor, since you began to develop a living in him after two months of hang out together.

° Jeongin likes hearing certain songs you create or in the process of being created, cheering you on and telling all of his members when you created a song.

° He liked to give you the credit and appreciation you rarely get, most of the credit going towards the artist who performed the songs you created. Jeongin wanted to let you know how proud he was of you daily, even if you got shy from it.

° Whenever you showed him different samples of songs you were working on, he'd dance in his seat with a beaming smile. Even when you were tired and wanted the day to end, his admiration and addicting smile would make your mood change instantly.

"I am just worried because JYP has been pretty harsh on the past few songs." You sighed, tired and frustrated.

"He literally wrote a song about women's butts. I'm pretty sure you're more talented baby." He reassured, patting your head.

Aww, thanks, Gin! Tell Me The Truth (About Love) is definitely one of my fave things to have written, so I'm happy to yap about it!

☼: how i came up with the idea

I think it started with just an off-the-cuff tumblr ficlet that I wrote, not very well thought out- but that eventually became the official meet cute in Chapter 7 of the fic, where Hyeon-min confronts his STALKER. But then I got thinking about it, like, not in a very structured way- just trying to figure out how I'd get the characters to that one scene, and then @rain-hat was the best enabler, so I just started writing and then...just didn't stop for a long time.

☄: what the writing process was like

It was delightful and exhausting! I was definitely on a roll- by that time I think I'd been almost continuously writing in one fandom or the other for like five months straight- which was extraordinarily productive by my standards- but! Hot girl summer! I loved the story and I believed in it, but I think I went through all the usual emotions of "why" and "when will this torture end" and "oh my god this is all crap". I really wouldn't have made it through if not for the wonderful and generous Rain, who cheered and cried and was, I think, at some point at least 50% more invested in the fic than I was (because I was a tired rodent by then).

✄: something i deleted before the final draft

Oh man, I realized just now that I deleted all my drafts in one of my rare instances of laptop-housekeeping, so I'm sorry, I don't have anything to show for this! I didn't delete a lot (that I remember- but that's also because I often edit as I go along!) but there was a back story for Sister Lee as a labour rights activist, and there was a longish office-comedy scene at the start where Hyeon-min goes to check about his leave pay with HR, and I think the hardest was cutting out a small scene about Kang Hyeon-min's mom- I cut it for pacing, and couldn't find a place for it later, but I wish I had managed it somehow. Oh, and there was an entire backstory about Hyeon-min's realizing he's bi, and his first boyfriend.

♡: my favorite part

You're going to laugh, but eventually my favourite parts of this story were NOT the scenes between Hyeon-min and Yeong, it was the Koo-Kang family- they were the gift the story gave me- because I honestly had no idea I was going to write them that way until I wrote the first line: "It’s Koo Seo-ryeong who susses him out first, and if Kang Hyeon-min were a little less incensed with her, he might have paid attention."

I just love all the scenes I wrote for them, and I can't particularly choose, but I think this bit stands out as what (I think) is good characterization work? :D

She'd sat up, suddenly, and climbed over him, picking up her clothes from the floor.

Hand propped on the pillow, he'd watched her dress—not hurried, but efficient.

“I think we’re done here, don’t you?” she'd asked, casually, as she'd belted the wide buckle of her dress.

He had wanted to ask her what he'd done wrong—but then, he’d never known what he’d done right either .

and maybe my fave exchange (technically: text) I've ever written:

Gyeongie got me a Kit-Kat today, he writes, so Song & Kim had better get you out soon or I’m going to have a new favourite Koo sister.

As if, comes the reply, within seconds. I made a man of you, baby, never forget.

☠: something i found challenging

This was definitely the "case fic" part of the story- for someone who grew up on a diet of whoddunits, I just couldn't make it work, and a large part of my tension during writing it was the resultant feeling that I'm just plain dumb? Eventually I had to stop stressing about being *clever * about it, because, after all, it was just a plot device for the things I wanted to get at.

☾: how i thought people would respond to the fic

Lol, I thought a handful of people might enjoy it- or so I hoped- but it was a long, slow burn for a niche pairing in a relatively tiny fandom, so I wasn't expecting many readers. (But I'm thrilled so many people enjoyed it and I sometimes go back and read the comments on it when I'm feeling low. Thanks y'all!)

☽: how people *actually* responded

I think it has a small, but devoted fanbase! *blows kisses at you all *

∞: something i wish i’d done differently

Hmm, you know, this is one of the few fics I've written that I'm largely satisfied with? Well, yes, the case fic part was probably something that should have been better, and I always find my prose utilitarian- but on the whole, I think it came together pretty well!

★: something i’m proud to have accomplished

Idk if there's anything I *have * with this particular fic- personally, I'm just happy if I can get a reader to click through to the next chapter. :D

Ice Age by MCND - 3 DAYS AFTER THE SONG WAS RELEASED YOUTUBE RECOMMENDED IT, I ACCIDENTALLY CLICKED ON IT AND I SWEAR THAT WAS THE BEST ACCIDENT THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO ME!!!
